In my life every little thing was perfect or nearly perfect when I was little. My parents used to shout at each other but somehow it never ended badly. They always would find a middle road but just do that while shouting. I was a happy child. My grades were good without I even open books nor doing homeworks. With SAT like exam I've got into the very best high school without even noticing the work load of the exam. Then I kept act like that without noticing how much others put effort into their studies, home life, emotional growth etc. I've got through another SAT like exam to became an university student. This time I've got shaken up yet me still being an idiot, didnt understand that my actions caused my misery. Ive finished my education, even I loved my profession my GPA was/is very average. Not we come to the title. I've discovered that motivation wasnt my problem, but lack of discipline is. I've got into masters I wanted but only after failing two different examination, finished my classes as top of my class this time but that was due to my professors well thinking. I've received internship overseas but couldnt find an office to accept me during covid era. What I really wanted was getting masters from foreign country but my 4 different application rejected and they all costs money I dont really have. I am now working at an office for two months but they are not paying me and acting like they are doing favor as I am now lack of professional experience due to spending my time on masters -btw which I didnt finish as I didnt write thesis only finishing classes so I cant add M.A. or M.S.- anyway tomorrow I will talk with my bosses as my trial time is finished. They will decide if they wanted to employ me for the minimum wage or they decide to 'employ' interns for free. This was the possible bad news. And today I've received a message from the last university that I had applied, they are asking proof of employment which wasnt listed on the application list. I will give contact of my old boss that I worked for time to time during the last 3 years but I doubt that the university will accept it. So. I feel fucked and spent my time on nothing significant. Idk what to do. I hate self pitiying and if this sounded like that Im sorry. I just looking some way out of this chaotic feeling and finally be able to relax. I miss the "everything is okay" feeling I used to had

2023.06.08 21:15 Hairy_Fishstick I have finally gotten my life back, thank you all

After living with DPDR for 14-15 years, and having come very close to ending my life because of it, the suffering has finally stopped. Nearly completely.
For me the DPDR was drug induced, one day I took too much and that was that. I mean, there were years of trauma and drug abuse up until that point, but y'know.
The affliction was progressive, it started out episodically, but over the years it got worse and worse, to the point where I could not even leave the house any more, lost my job, my friends, my life. I was completely incapacitated by the constant- perpetual fear, confusion, living in a state of pure terror. By this point everything triggered my DPDR; smells, colors, sounds, thoughts, you name it. My mind had become an abstract, no longer recognizable as something that was supposed to be a person.
I had been in and out of therapy, on a plethora of medications, from anti-psychotics to anti-depressants to self-medicating with benzos and alcohol, even been admitted to the psychward for a year, but nothing (really) helped.
So, about a year ago, I was at my lowest. I couldn't go on anymore. But before ending it all, I made the decision to give therapy one- last- try. And this time, hold nothing back, lay all the cards on the table. I gave it my all, and... it barely helped at all. So again, back to the end.
Then, by happy accident, googling random symptoms, I found out about DPDR, which led me to this sub, and then to the most important part: your guy's recommendation of Zoloft. Somehow, I had completely missed this one medication before.
Sorry for the language, but holy fucking shitballs: After 4 weeks on 50mg, it had completely changed my life. It's like everything in my mind just clicked back into place, I felt normal again. No more terror, no more confusion, just completely normal, as if the past 15 years had not even happened.
It's been a couple of months now, and everything's just great. I'm outside of the house nearly every day, doing things, interacting with people, and I'm gong to start work again soon.
I just want to say: Thank you guys so much. You actually saved my life.

Straight off the bat I have to say I posted in this sub a few months back but since then there's been some developments.
In a nutshell I was recently discharged by a rheumatologist because they have no idea what is happening to me.
For the past 2.5 years or so I have developed crepitus throughout my entire body, it is incredibly loud, repeatable (so I believe it is not typical cavitation like when you crack your knuckles and have to wait before doing so again) and is often accompanied by pain. My neck, lower back and knees are the worst. However, it is also present in my ankles, wrists, hips, elbows, shoulders, thighs/coccyx (I haven't been able to fully identify where this one is coming from), sternum/ribcage, jaw etc. I'm basically a walking sound system at this point, the most minute of movements results in noise, it's maddening. What's worse is having absolutely no answer as to its cause. I have also started to experience a strange phenomena of whooshing and ringing in my ears, which I assume is tinnitus.
I have been seen by a variety of rheumatologists and specialist physiotherapists who have debated whether I'm hypermobile, or at least somewhere on the high end of that spectrum. Most of them have concluded that I am definitely not hypermobile. All of these rheumatologists have been very senior and accredited in the research hospital I've been seen in. However I'm always given contradictory information from each of them, with no diagnosis ever made.
I've so far had 4 X-rays and an MRI, with nothing of note found besides osteophytes and scleroderma in some portions of my lower spine. I was also investigated for concerns of ankylosing spondyloarthritis but that came back negative. I'm also HLA B27 positive. Since these scans my symptoms have increased in severity.
In conjunction with this I had previously, and technically continue still to this day continue to "suffer" from Henoch Schonlein Purpura. Although these days it is nowhere near as much of a problem as it was for me a few years ago.
My last interaction with the most senior rheumatologist was a plan to medicate me with steroid injection and then a DMARD if the steroids proved effective. They didn't. And so for my follow up appointment I saw a different rheumatologist who I informed that the treatment plan hadn't worked and I had not responded to the steroids. To which he essentially said, your body will stiffen up as you get older and this should resolve on its own. Not the answer I was looking for.
Due to my ongoing medical issue I have started to distance myself from activities I enjoyed such as BJJ due to fear of making my condition worse. I was also suspicious of this activity itself being either the direct cause of my condition due to its physical nature, and my joint issues only began after I started doing the activity. However, I have since stopped doing the sport and my symptoms haven't only persisted but have spread to previously unaffected areas. Still it may be a contributing factor.
Nobody I have come across has an answer, I really do want to know what is going wrong with my body, especially since each day I am experiencing its degeneration. I feel weaker, the structures in my body feel much more lax and are prone to injury. A few people on reddit have claimed very similar symptoms to mine also without a diagnosis. I don't know where to turn. I'm also currently searching for alternative treatments such as prolotherapy/prp injections etc. but have frame of reference for whether they would work or not.
Any information would be greatly appreciated.

I have been talking to this guy for 2 years (35 m) and that I used to talk to years ago but ghosted me and then they got back in contact and we did have 1 night together
This guy is intelligent and has a very good professional job
This person has said to me before "are you okay if this doesn't go anywhere between us"
Found out couple months ago they are married (now seperated) and had a child with their partner who they don't currently see at the moment as wife is claiming cohercive behaviour
He told me it's not true and he shouldn't be going through that because hes got a professional job
Been speaking nearly 2 years haven't meant up and he still makes effort to talk to me everyday although there are some days where he doesn't talk to me at all like once every 3/4 months
I also found out they been talking to women like 15 years younger in their 20s. I feel he loves the female attention but they do contact me a lot and ask me how I am everyday. Although we are not exclusive so it's not my business!
Can someone explain what they think rh mindset of this person is to me because I don't understand
Why would they still talk to me if I haven't put out these 2 years or met up yet.
I also believe I am autistic and close family friends suggest I am too if this has anything to do with how I feel about this person
I just need some perspectives and I know I may look like silly
Should I stop talking to this person and move on or should I try and pursue a future?

Backpack Velka 7 Travel Setup w/ USB-C Display Mod
Lately, I have had to travel more for work and was looking into building a 2nd PC for my basement, wanted to go ITX, but needed to be small enough to bring for work on a plane if I wanted. I still wanted to build a nicehigher end rig, but wanted to keep it under $650 or so as it's not a primary rig and have no desire for a laptop. I wanted something still portable enough to toss in a backpack. My biggest want was a 1-cable solution for display/power for the monitor from the GPU. After some pateince, my 5.9L Velka 7 came to life :)

SPECS

  1. CPU - Ryzen 5 5600 - was a 3600, but ended up finding a 5600 locally for 60 bucks and used the 3600 to upgrade my buddies older gaming rig b350 w/ a 1700x for cheap.
  2. Motherboard - Gigabyte A520i - Perfect budget board for what i need, plus wifi/bt integrated. Not gonna be overclocking or pushing a lot of power through an L9A in a tiny case anyways.
  3. Ram - Gskill 3200CL16 kit. Nothing fancy, had it laying around already and fits the ram tolerance for this case.
  4. SSD - 1TB Intel 670p - Cheap, Reliable, DRAM, yay.
  5. GPU - 2080 Super Founders edition - Specifically went after this card for its great performance, even 2 gens behind it packs a massive punch. I love the 20 series Founders look as well, but more importantly I wanted a GPU that had USB-C output on the card itself for reasons you can see below :)
  6. CPU Cooler - Noctua L9a w/ Noctua Fan Duct - Could've gone Blackridge but this is more than plenty to tame the 5600 in every use I have, and it's quiet lol.
  7. PSU - Corsair SF600 - Pretty self explanatory here. Corsair SF Psu's are great, have an SF750 Platinum in my main rig. Didn't need that much power and figured the 450 wasn't enough. 600 fit perfect and found it for $55. Might Noctua fan swap it down the line, but the zero rpm mode has worked great on it so far and doesn't get hot.
  8. Case - Good ol' 5.9L Velka7. I LOVE this case and I will keep it for a long time. Found it for $150 complete with everything and was way easier to build in than I expected. The 3.0 riser was a tiny bit tedious, but as long as you read the guide it's super simple. Usually don't do a whole lot of ITX builds, and when I have its been mainly like an H1, NR200 or similar "easier" ITX cases
  9. USB-C Internal Adapter - ADT Link USB-C 3.2 Gen 2x2 Type-C Male to Type-C Female, 30cm T9A-T8T-NC. Was worried at reading other users in the past on reddit trying this mod, but seemed it was all 3.1 cables having issues with the powedisplay combo and flickering on some monitors. This being 3.2 Gen2x2 made me feel a lot better given the massive difference in the 2 cables abilities and bandwidth. Decided to risk it for the biscuit and have my 3d printer friend make me a mount similar to the DisplayPort and HDMI internal cables that you have to run for the GPU anyways. I figured at worst I would have a USB-C port to use for more IO. But it worked great for my 1 cable solution and i can do 1440p 120hz without any issues over 1 USBC cable!
  10. Portable Monitor - UPerfect 2k 120hz USB-C monitor 16" - 1440p/120hz is perfect and love the extra real estate. It is light as a feather, seriously, and the included magnetic case for the monitor works fantastic as its own stand as well. It looks FANTASTIC. Biggest sell for me was that it is VESA mountable and can live on an arm when I am home.
  11. Mouse - Reddragon M602 Wireless - fits my large hand well, is cheap, and does extremely well for the price. It isn't a G502, but it's hard to beat for the money in my eyes for $30.
  12. Keyboard - Pauroty 60% wireless Mechanical Keyboard - Also didn't really care too much here. Blue Switches are meh, but I will probably at least end up replacing the main gaming switches. Works well enough and is built surprisingly sturdy.
  13. Mouse Case - CANTOO Hard Travel Mouse Case for Razer Basilisk X Hyperspeed/Basilisk Ultimate/Logitech G604 - Fit the Reddragon Mouse like a glove and is a nice case.
  14. Keyboard Case - Mchoi 60% Mechanical Keyboard Case - Fit the keyboard great, and strong velcro strap. Has a nice big pouch for all of my cables. Again, cheap and sturdy and does exactly what I need.
When at home, this PC will be on a small desk with the 16" monitor on a Vesa Arm, as well as connected to my basement's TV to use as a media hub for downstairs or for any friend who stays/comes over! It's maiden voyage trip is this weekend, everything fits in my backpack like a glove with a small neck pillow at the bottom of the bag to protect the bottom of the case when its in the backpack. Hello.
Throw away account for obvious reasons. Ive written articles here before in the very early days on other throw aways but lurk once in a while. This is kind of a low effort post but i feel like i need to at least get the discussion started.
Anyway this is a critique of this sub. It is meant to be taken constructively and I am not bashing. Many of the people here are enthusiasts who understand the importance of geography on the fate of a nation, a people and an individual (hopefully). But in recent times the quality of discussion has been lacking. I suspect this is because people rely solely on mob thinking and their opinions to inform their decision with minimal logic. Many lack a clear understanding of history, technology, the current state of affairs in the country, and ideological frameworks and geopolitical theories. This is fine. These people aren't in charge of policy. But their opinions can sway the thinking of others on this sub and can cloud discussions.

The same applies to conversations here.
I see this most clearly in discussion of china both in media and this sub. Too many peoples "reality models" or their framework for viewing the world is out of touch with reality. This is to be expected. The reality model/ framework of a day labourer is very different than that of a celebrity. In the same way geopolitical enthusiasts on this sub simply dont understand the fundamentals of indias position with other countries. The media doesnt help either.

To act in a productive manner, an entity must first evaluate what its working with. You need data. This sub is heavily lacking good data on China for example. Here are sources I believe are valuable in starting to develop an information bank on china for the average Indian. This is not an exhaustive list. But it will inform your thinking. What you conclude from this information will be up to you. But the better you information, the better your decisions, and what is an entity if not the net sum of its decisions?
TL;DR : Learn to read from more than one line reddit comments and media pieces to inform your opinion if you actually want to be constructive and lead the country to a better place.

Sources on china to look at. THis is china specific because they are our priority but is usually applicable for other issues:
  1. Make an account with the large chinese social media sites. How many of you have actually tried jumping the fire wall? Do you know the chinese equivalent of reddit? Google? Youtube? Have you tried searching posts on india on these sites to see what comes up for chinese audiences? Well you should try atleast. Also if you are worried about your data, our goverment sold it out to the western companies a long time ago, so dont worry about it lol. whatever you are trying to protect is already gone. Also a lot of these apps are available on the playstore like wechat. Unless the indian government banned those too lul.
  2. Serpentza is a good youtube channel. He makes highly critical videos of china, but as far as i can tell has a good head on his shoulders and is pretty grounded in reality and doesnt get lost in the rhetoric from either side. He isnt in the "CHINA BAD!!! REEEE!!!" camp of hawks, and neither is he in the "WESTERN PROPAGANDA, CHINA IS HEAVEN!!!!!" china bhakt camp either. He lived in china for 13 years. He is south african and is highly critical of his own country. In many ways he has similarities to dis-illusioned indians but in his case it might be justified. He may not be nice to hear but he is consistent in his beliefs from the videos i have seen. Or i might be getting psy-oped by high level propaganda. Who knows, maybe you can tell me after watching a few videos. An example of his work: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jHxh_sQHH0E. My point is, look for videos that are as close to the ground reality of the other side as possible.
  3. Learn to look for the bad. It is always nice to hear good things about your country. But talk is cheap. Look for the reports of india actually messing up because those are the places that we need to fix. We have poor relations with virtually all of our neighbours. Why? India has abysmal health issues with a large population that is either hungry or malnourished. This has terrible implications for creating high quality indian citizens who not only love but are capable of pushing india forward. Why? If you do this well you will start to think independent of political party posturing and start seeing what actually matters and which parties will actually make a difference and rise above all the media mudslinging. Start by looking at nutrition and the indian diet and its effects on the growth of individuals, toilet and sanitation programs, energy infrastructure. These are the things that really matter. Sure you might get depressed, but if you aren't ready to hear the bad parts of your country then you are a coward, im afraid because then you will never be able to work to fix this. Also the west always pushes india good or bad narratives knowing that the vast percentage of the population are dumb enough to eat it up and give massive concessions to the enemy. Dont be like these people.
  4. Read a god dam history book. Seriously. History is the biggest bank of data you can have on the actions of states and how they survived. Which empires lasted long? Which fell. Why did they fall? Are their influences still around today? Are those influences good or bad? Human biology has been relatively constant for the last 300,000 years. This means the people who lived in the past were no different intellectually than us. Dont make the mistake of thinking we are different because we arent quite there (yet). How did they make sense of their state? If you cant read a history book, then listen to a few low level history podcasts. Dan carlin on youtube has great series on ancient empires.
  5. Read a god dam geopolitical science book. Francis Fukuyama is famous in US geopolitical circles of the highest level. He also has written books. Maybe its a good idea to read them? The autobiographies of great leaders are important sources into their inner workings too. Giga Chad Deng Xiaoping, Giga Chad Lee Kuan Yew, Giga Chad Otto Bismarck. These are a few people who changed in a single generation the fate of their nations (sometimes single handedly). For the akhand bharat types (the ones that arent stupid) i would recommend starting with Otto.
  6. Stay away from the media. Anything worth reading is hidden in congretional reports that no one in the media reads or obscure blog posts. If you read my link on the human info centipede you know what i am saying. If someone took the time to write a book on it you can trust that it is worth reading. Usually.
  7. Respect your adversary. It is important to not believe ones own propaganda. It is easy to get lost in it. You are no better. In fact i would suggest looking for propaganda from your side. It usually is a good skill to seperate the truth from the lies. Can you name some of this propaganda?
  8. Accept that we have no allies. India will always be on its own. Atleast for the near future. We are at the center of the "Old World" We will always be a battle ground. Any peace we make here, will be of our own work. No one wants a strong india. Not the US or China. China because we will be a competitor in their neighborhood security (doesnt matter if we wont be its what they think). US because they made the play book on this. Support france to beat the british and gain independence. Support the Russians to beat the Germans. Support the Chinese to beat the Russians. CAn you guess who is next in this pattern? We have friends of convenience. Until and unless we sign into a military alliance on paper, we have no allies. And even then who is to say that our military allies will actually help us? Just look at armenia, CSTO and Russia.
  9. Learn what india's geopolitical objectives are. If you wish to evaluate whether a developement is good or bad, you must have a metric of progress that you are aiming toward. It is not simply "counter china".
  10. Competence is the backbone of a society. Beware the rise of the incompetent. Learn from the mistkes and failures of other states. See what works, shed what doesnt. An example: https://www.thepsmiths.com/p/review-south-africas-brave-new-world
  11. Overtime you will become disillusioned. You will become frustrated. And if you do some of the things I have said you may grow to dislike a lot of things about india. I have simply given you the knowledge to fathom the monsters that hound this country. The courage and good character to face them and not run away will have to come from you.
I have purposely not given easy links to some of these suggestions because you lazy asses need to learn how to google and look for information yourself. Too many of you are spoon fed and dont know who is holding the spoon.

I've had my Black Diamond Cosmo (mine is an older AAA only model, but similar) for about 6 years and have been very happy with the quality, size, reliability and the 3 light modes (Spot, flood, red)
However, because it uses AAA batteries instead of rechargable, I often find myself carryign around a spare set of batteries in case it dies, or dims, and in a few cases found that certain brands of AAA batteries (both alkaline and rechargeable aren't fitting right, which makes them incompatible.
Therefore, I've decided to upgrade to one of the Black Diamond headlamps with a rechargeable built in battery. I'm trying to decide between the three Below and leaning towards the Spot. (Specs taken from REI Website)

2023.06.08 21:08 Gedora97 Lazy taco shop owner.

This may be the oddest way I choose to stop supporting a business but nothing frustrates me more when I'm in public and somebody let's their kid do anything they want.
I'm waiting to get my hair cut and there is a family in here with a 3-4 year old here to get their kids hair cut. I recognize the man runs the taco shop near my house because he's in his work uniform. The kid is running circles through the lobby, in and out of the actually Barber, climbing on chairs people are sitting in(including my own) blasting the same 5 sounds from a phone he's throwing everywhere and I can smell he shit himself. The mother is sitting in the corner barely saying anything to the kid and doing absolutely nothing to stop him except when the kid ran outside. The father is sitting somewhere else and had not said a single word the 30+minutes I have been here.
There is a another kid in here who's probably a year or two older who's been very well behaved and quiet the whole time.
I will not be buying tacos from them seeing as this is the way they choose to represent themselves while promoting their business.

I haven't posted art in forever yet people still remember me, I am genuinely confused since it's been 2-3 months.
I do have reasons for not posting too as I have been trying to draw monkes in a similar style, just not the same as it takes me nearly 4 hours to make something that doesn't even look good. I also have some personal problems with my stepfather but that really only affects upload rate a little

1- Chests?
Unlike any other roguelike there are no chests in Powder. But why does knock spell mention a locked chest?
2- Exotic armors
C'mon game, there are no golden plate mail or beetle skull helmet...
3- Grid bug
You will understand their description better once you know these poor creatures can't move diagonally in Nethack unlike any other monster. They are still unique in Powder but in a better way. There are fun references to Nethack and other RPGs, i like the texts of helm of draining and empty bottle :P
4- Kobold religion
Have you noticed some kobold rooms are named kobold temple? At first i thought kobold mages are the priests of those temples as they are the leaders that protecting the amulets of these rooms. Therefore kobolds probably worship Belweir or even Wpark the Wonderful because Wpark was the teacher of kobold mages. But here is the question: kobold thieves are the highest caste in kobold community so do they worship mage gods or Quizar the rogue god?
There are lot of kobold types: kobold thief>kobold assassin>kobold fighter>kobold mage>kobold
According to evolution path when a kobold mage reaches to level 20, he becomes a kobold assassin. And these assassins have a secret organization. Hmm...
5- Tridude religion and Xom the cultist god
Since Xom is the owner of the portal which leads to tridude spaceship, maybe these aliens worship him? Also the minotaur carries the key of the portal, Glowing Y-Rune. Why? Maybe Xom locked the minotaur in the maze and gave him the key. Ever noticed the name Xom(><0V) can't be spelt right just like Baezl'bub? What if he created Baezl'bub? Or the whole Powder universe? Xom is above other gods, he is able to act like them if he wants, he can give you extreme amount of health and mana if he wants. Since he likes to play games is it possible that he is the owner of the game?
6- Kingdom of Qwar
This must be the kingdom the village elder talking about. We know nothing about overworld. Western Pederbar region, Abr'po? Astral plane, mental plane, plane of decay, plane of earth... 7- Why does Klaskov have a village deep in the dungeon?

Priest god, Pax has nothing because he sucks. Alright, maybe he is the owner of forest maze room which has bats. Pax loves bats and trees

Who the hell owns a village in stage 24? We can only see the orc and hill orc raiders but what about the inhabitants of the village? Considering there are only 2 houses in the village, maybe the Fighter god depicted in shiny set of full plate, Klaskov the Ironclad is living or was living in there? Maybe Klaskov settled there before fighting Baezl'bub then died and became a deity?
8- Gods are past adventurers that died?
As i wrote in the previous mystery, maybe gods(Except Xom and Tlosh) are past adventurers that died against Baezl'bub? I said except Xom because i wrote a different theory about him in number 5. Tlosh is another story, according to his description he is not even a god, he is just too powerful. And he didn't die, he turned himself into an immortal lich.
Here is a counter arguement though: If these gods were adventurers then why don't they have any tales like Tlosh? Because some spell descriptions inform us about Tlosh's past. Here is a small hint, the description of impale skill tells H'ruth was impaling hill orcs with his silver spear Relattrey when he was human :)

Hello all Redditors, I'm a 2x CEO who was forced to close up shop in late parts of 2021 due to issues brought about by my partner whom had been doing nefarious things under our company name. My past companies were in biotech and intellectual property consulting. I have a bachelor's in mathematics from a fine school, and moved away from the area to a new place and have since got counseling for the absolutely insane story that ensued after discovering the wrong-doings mentioned and confronting the person. My partner was my father who held a lawyer and accounting license which is why I hadn't much thought he was capable of doing some of these things to people, let alone someone in his own family. Before that I worked developing companies from scratch and helping them achieve Pinksheets OTC status (have aided in more than 4 companies getting to this level) for public trading - preparing SEC form S-1's and advanced business plans including forecasting, industry statistics, and more. I also worked as Operations Manager for a solar company, lead information analyst and business developer at another agency, and my first job out of college was as a genetic sequencer for the AIDS genome working at the NCI (National Cancer Institute). Since moving, I've applied to LITERALLY over 1200 jobs on LinkedIn, Indeed, ZipRecruiter, and others, while also attempting to solicit jobs on Upwork and freelancer.com, all to no avail. I have gone to multiple job fairs, and had great interviews (3 of the 1200 jobs applied to). The area I live in has good prospects for engineers who have security clearances, but I am not applicable for security clearance because of a prescribed medication I take. I would like to be in a place where I feel comfortable starting another business, but at this point money is sparse and I need stable income. In the interviews I've had, the lower-level jobs tell me I'm far too over-qualified and some of the jobs I believed to be at my level want people who have been working specifically only in that job title for over 7 years (which seems obscene). I have been applying to statistics, data science, leadership roles, management, director, officer, and other positions, and I've gained huge experience since leaving my company in IT and software development, SEO, machine learning, and other essential tools for business development as well as becoming acquainted with cloud platforms, software languages, and data archetypes much more intensely. It is getting to a point after over a year without a position that I cannot reconcile why I am not able to get any responses and any time I ask for feedback, the recruiters say they don't have enough time to respond. I must be missing something because I've done everything suggested - from going to job fairs in person, to improving my skills in the meantime, to getting Harvard Course certifications, emailing recruiters directly, expanding my circle on LinkedIn and more. I'm more than halfway done with a mobile app I'm developing on Flutter for android and apple phones that I've been working on alone, and have two other company ideas that are generally in development, but will not be finished in the near future. It is becoming extremely disappointing after moving to a cheaper area already to have had no job the entire time. I've even posted tutoring services in the local area all over Facebook and so much more. I would prefer a remote position as it is something I'm more comfortable with, but have applied to in-person positions as well. Again, all I can conclude is I'm just missing something that other people understand, because countless days of research, performing quizzes for applications, and filling out job listing after job listing has left me with a feeling that seems personal at some level. I have googled my name and not found anything specific that would prevent me from getting a position either at or near the same level as before. I believe I'm extremely capable and apt to perform duties necessary for the jobs I apply to, but like I wrote as my title, I have to be doing something wrong in my process. Please advise.

will actually be rating contestants based on how good they are, not arbitrary things :) will go from last place to first
  1. Astrid: somehow served a raw dessert when she had an hour to make it, and as we all know, sloppy and unsanitary. Pretty out of her depth here
  2. Stephani: arrogant and had consistently bad performances. she kept adding random things to her dishes to stand out, but ending up standing out as the weak link.
  3. Whitney: nice, friendly girl, but her meatloaf was called a "meat dessert" by Graham. I woulda liked to see her stay over Stephani
  4. Jordan: mediocre performances in individual challenges and looked lost in team challenges. especially when compared to the other teenager of the season, Ahran, he stood no chance. Nice kid, but didn't had what it takes to win
  5. Gordon: average, didn't stand out. can't really say much about him
  6. Kira: seemed to be really engaged and enthusiastic, but didn't really stand out til her unfilled donuts. I know this is the elimination that makes everyone go ......, and it would've made for a better season if Cutter went instead of her (yes, I'm a Courtney apologist lol)
  7. Tyler: can't say much besides he didn't seem horrible since he got one of the first aprons. Too bad he took Jaimee's panna cotta (BY MISTAKE, people), but at least he took his elimination on the chin
  8. Elise: didn't really have any high moments and was shown to be too much in her own head. I have no doubt she can cook and can probably bake like an angel, but the competition was too much for her.
  9. Dan: besides an awesome audition dish, he was consistently in the middle/back of the pack, and didn't even produce stellar spring rolls despite being from Beijing.
  10. Cutter: had maybe 2 or 3 highs throughout the entire competition and of course, his string of like 4 horrendous performances in a row tank him. Although he minimally improved after the final 13, I didn't see anything great besides his truffles and the offal dish (where he was given the easiest part). He should've left with Elise at final 13 and the competition would've been 10 times better.
  11. Daniel: had some good early performances but was then consistently in the middle of the pack til the final 11. I like the guy a lot, but he was just floating by til the weakest contestants were gone.
  12. Francis B: had a few great performances at the start and proved to be a good captain, but he fell to the bottom as fast as he rose to the top. I think the areas he could excel in were limited, and he proved that starting at the steak frites PT.
  13. Francis L: funny, quirky guy who wasn't afraid to go far outside of the box. he started to go too far off the deep end, and his caramelle which got him eliminated made me think "why would you EVER make that??". he seemed to be great in team challenges though and one probably the best leader of the season. I wish he learned to reign it in a little so he could go further.
  14. Willie: everyone loves Big Willie, but he kinda just plateaued after a strong start. He is undoubtedly a good baker who puts his heart into everything he makes, but a lot of his later dishes were way too simplistic, like his tomato soup (this is strongly proven in BTW where he skated by to the Top 6). In a competition where you have to elevate everything you make as time goes on, he definitely falls behind in this regard.
  15. Christine: While she was never the main highlight of individual challenges, she was regarded by Courtney, Elizabeth and Ahran to be Top 5 and really strong. The dishes we saw from here were good, but she didn't stand out a lot. If her truffles weren't so bitter, I think she makes it a lot farther as she definitely seemed capable and had her head on straight. She was also a fantastic leader who didn't want any BS
  16. Jaimee: just like Willie, everyone loves Jaimee. Despite making Top 6, she only had about 5 really good performances highlighted. Even though she was regarded as a good baker, her panna cotta and croquembouche prevent me from putting her higher as there were many obvious faults with them. She also had to be carried in several team challenges, and was an ineffective leader (not any fault of her though, her condition made it hard)
  17. Victoria: probably the coolest person this entire season. Friendly to everyone, never made any excuses, was a hard worker, and was known to everyone as the Protein Queen. She may not have stood out as much as the Top 5 did, but she had many great performances and was never on the bottom of a challenge. Her going at Top 10 SUCKS
  18. Ahran: You either love or hate her, but you can't deny the amount of talent she had at 18. She was determined, focused and ready to learn every step of the way. She had moments of immaturity, but we see far, far worse from those 10 and 20 years older than her. She had a ton of great performances, also was never on the bottom of a challenge and was put in the worst situation with the double elimination pressure test. Her ranking 9th is probably the biggest travesty of the season
  19. Christian: Christian was shown to be outspoken, determined, and technically skilled. He had many great individual performances and was generally strong in team challenges. However, he started crashing and burning at the final 7, and ending up in the bottom 3 episodes in a row keeps him out my top 3. Still, strong her and stronger on BTW.
  20. Leslie: ohhhh boy, here we go. Leslie was underestimated by everyone at the start, yet could consistently put out good dishes with flair. Two things I noticed throughout the season is struggles with plating (which I think he improved on in the second half), and constant issues with a lack of seasoning in his food. Between team and individual challenges, I remember him being told off several times for lack of seasoning, and his captaincy during the second team challenge was atrocious. He still remained strong and proved many people wrong, but was too immature throughout the competition and conflict seemed to follow him around. Also, we all know the salt and sugar thing, and who knows the exact details of what happened? Does seem a little shady, but I was never really bothered by it.
Now, a controversial final take, but...
I would have to put Courtney and Elizabeth at the same spot, and here's why:
Courtney was the immediate front runner, receiving the first apron and winning the first mystery box. Just like Natasha the previous season, she was targeted by several competitors with curveballs thrown at her, but she managed to overcome them. I think she was generally good in team challenges and was a great leader at the Football one, but she was out her depth in Restaurant Takeover. Despite the controversy behind both the donuts and the final pressure test, she was still very strong, survived several pressure tests, and continuously excelled through the finale. I know how people feel about her, saying she's the worst winner because she's "fake" (like the way she comes off makes her a horrible cook and the worst winner... ok people), but in my book, she's definitely one of the best. She was there for a purpose, made some choices to get through the competition, and prevailed.
Elizabeth is considered to be the best of the season by many, and maybe one of the best of all time. Her consistency is nearly unmatched, winning every team challenge, never being in a pressure test, and exceeding expectations at nearly every point. In fact, she was immune from participating in 11 challenges, probably more than any contestant ever. However, I think never being in a pressure test was her biggest downfall. Courtney had already been through 3 pressure tests and clearly knew how to manage her time, while Elizabeth had completely avoided them, and this lack of time management hurt her in the finale. Whether they wanted Courtney to win or Elizabeth dropped the ball hard enough to lose, who knows. She's still an awesome cook with a petty attitude (which I don't mind), and was rightfully considered top competition by everyone.

Champion’s Quest

Intro

The goal is to find three elements, deposit them into the nuclear canister at the bomb site, arm the bomb, and secure the location until it goes off.

Mechanics

Qualification

You need to place in 1st place five games in a row on either Battle Royal Quads, Trios, Duos, Solo. You can mix and match which modes are used but whichever you choose 5 consecutive games must be won. Your match history must show 5 wins in a row under “Battle Royal”.
As of 06/08/2023 everyone has a token every game. No qualification is needed.

Token System

Completing qualification will grant you a Champion’s Quest Token. When playing another game of Warzone, this token allows you, and ONLY YOU, the ability to see three Champion’s Quest Contracts at the start of the match. All players with a token in your squad will see the locations of the contracts.
Whoever picks up the contract consumes their token and the quest begins.

Steps to Complete the Champion’s Quest

Step 0) Determine if you need to pull out of the game and reset

Look for a Champion's Quest Contract near the center of the first circle, anything besides that and your chance of completing the quest goes significantly down. Because it's free just pull out of the game and re-queue for a better chance.

Step 1) Start the quest

Once committed to the game the first step is to start the quest. When the game begins, there will be three golden icons scattered throughout the map. A player with a Champion’s Quest Token can interact with one which will begin the quest and inform the lobby that someone is attempting the Champion’s Quest. No location-specific information is shared with the lobby at this point.
Update: Since it's free and EVERYONE is going for the quest you need to land there first and grab it. Once grabbed immediately run away and survive! You'll have time to regain and get loadout before even needing to pick up the BE element.

Step 2) Find and acquire the elements

This step requires finding three elements and picking them up. The first element is revealed ~10 seconds after starting the quest (ie. completing Step 1). The first element’s location will be somewhat close to the location of the contract you activate, so the icon you choose of the three makes a difference. The second and third elements are each revealed ~10 seconds after picking up the previous element.
An element being “revealed” means its location is shown as a large circular area that must be searched to find its exact location (similar to Intel contracts). These location indicators are not shown to the lobby, and initially the elements can only be picked up by a team member.
Each element has a unique (negative) effect associated with its acquisition:
  1. Beryllium (Be): Picking up Be causes its location to be shown to the entire lobby (similar to how a ‘most wanted’ contract is shown to the lobby). While you are holding Be, your location is revealed. If you drop it, its location continues to be revealed, but you can move without the lobby knowing where you are. This is the worst debuff by far.
  2. Plutonium (Pu): Picking up Pu causes it to emit radiation that damages you while holding it. Nearby players have their vision distorted as well. Additionally, it damages any vehicles you enter while holding it.
  3. Tritium (T): Picking up T scrambles the radar of you and any players near you and disables vehicles. This means you won’t have access to your tac map or minimap. Have to leg this one over - no LTV.
Once all three elements are picked up, a jailbreak is triggered. (Not confirmed anymore since they changed the circle timings--a.k.a Gulag closing time-- in S3.)

Step 3) Locate the bomb site

~Halfway through the 4th circle, the bomb site’s location will be revealed. Shortly after it is revealed, a plane will fly over and drop a nuclear canister. It lands ~30 seconds after the icon appears. You have five minutes from this point to arm the nuke. Multiple teams on the Champion's Quest all have the same nuclear canister. The first team to deposit their 3 elements and arm the nuke cancel the quest for the others.
It is possible the location of the nuclear canister is in the gas due to a zone-split. When this happens, the circle is guaranteed to merge back around the canister.

Step 4) Arm the nuke

Once the nuclear canister has landed, you next must deposit all three elements into it, then arm it. You deposit the elements by interacting with the canister while the elements are in your inventory. Once all three elements are in it, you next must arm the canister. You do this by again interacting with it, but you need to hold ‘interact’ for ~10 seconds (similar to planting a bomb in S&D).

Step 5) Defend the nuke

After the nuke is armed, a 2-minute timer begins. To win, two things need to happen:
  1. Your squad does not get wiped.
  2. The bomb is not defused.
The bomb can be defused by any player who interacts with it, so it must be defended. It takes an enemy player 10 seconds of interaction to defuse the bomb.
After arming the nuke, if conditions 1 & 2 are satisfied but the game ends due to there being no more enemy teams, the nuke will immediately detonate resulting in a win.

Timings

Strategy

Everyone tries to be the first one to the champions quest contract and grab it. Once grabbed escape from that area immediately and loot up somewhere safe. Attempt to secure the vehicles listed below.
An LTV -- This is needed to transport the Be element safely to the canister. Other vehicles work but aren't as safe. Try to secure an LTV. They then do a typical strategy of trying to get money/prepare to secure a stronghold.
A light helo - This is used to secure a stronghold + blacksite. The movement speed of the light helo helps get to a stronghold first, which give a key to complete the black site.
-- EXTREMELY IMPORTANT -- All four players then try to rat/hold a strong location just as they would when on a normal streak game, while also keeping the Be location safe from enemy players. They do this for as long as possible, until either 1) the gas is going to obscure the Be, or 2) the bomb site location is revealed. At that point, someone takes the Be and takes it to the bomb site ASAP, ideally before the lobby realizes what’s going on and before they have time to get to the bomb site themselves.
By the time the Be has been deposited into the nuclear canister, Pu will have been revealed. Find and pick it up and deposit it into the canister when it appears safe to do so. You want to be holding the element for as little time as possible, so wait to pick it up until you’re confident you’re ready to go. Then do the same with T.
Ideally once T is deposited, the depositor would then immediately begin arming the nuke while their teammates throw smokes for cover.
The following items are of more importance for the Champion’s Quest win:

2023.06.08 21:00 BurlesonPujols Overheal / Temerity Unique / Combos

So I've been trying to figure out exactly how the Overheal works for Temerity besides for using potions or the default Lucky Hit heal. Trying to find some other synergies or anything useful.
One thing I've noticed especially on Tier 4, is that Aspect of Crowded Sage (Heal for X life per second second per each Close enemy up to X) definitely triggers the barrier. It's awesome. If you have no barrier just hop into a crowd and boom it's back. Save's a potion. Game changer so far, for me anyway at level 66 as HOTA barbarian. It's way better than other defensive aspects that damage reduce in my experience). Since you're constantly losing barrier in packs it refreshes it for you.
Another thing I noticed, much to my chagrin - is that it does NOT work with the Barbarian "Invigorating Fury" ability (heal 3-9% of max life per 100 fury spent). Obviously that would be great, but it seems that doesn't trigger "Overheal" it simply heals you to max health without adding the Temerity barrier. Which, when you're taking massive damage isn't much help in a crowd. Doesn't hurt - but doesn't re-trigger the Temerity barrier which is boo.
Just sharing my observations, if there's any other combos that help make Temerity better do tell. Going to fool around grabbing %life nodes and more incoming healing in the meantime.

This is part general and also a progress post.
To shorten a long story, a year into our DB, I (35HLF) received a message from a woman who had proof that my husband (48LLM) solicited her and her friend for a sexual act and when they both asked for money, he said No and blocked them. I went through his fb, and he had over 30 women blocked on his page. I confronted him about the messages, even more pissed because i felt like i was BEGGING for sex and sexual intimacy. Here he was, trying to cheat with randoms.
After some bk and forth, I said, "Why are we arguing? U clearly want to either be secretive or want to see other ppl, so we can file divorce, or we are in an open relationship starting today." He said he didn't want a divorce. I was so angry at him and heartbroken. I snapped out of it and decided I would be going on a date that day and let him know I was going to meet up with someone so I could have the sex he's depriving me of. He watched as I made some phone calls, sent some selfies, got dolled up, packed an overnight bag, and headed to the car. He stood in front of the car and said, "Please dont go." I told him HIS actions and inaction got us here. I left for 3 days and didn't return until he blew up my phone asking me to. When i got in, all he said was, "Please, just dont tell me any of the details." I continued to see my old flame for about 4 months, and we continued working on our marriage after I prayed, and my heart told me i shouldn't divorce him. The gains were small at first, but he put in work to slowly re-establish my trust. One day in therapy, my husband made a comment that I had never been with anyone else. I kindly reminded him that we are in an open relationship now and that I do still see my "friend" 2x a week.
My husband was flabbergasted. He said he thought I was bluffing when I left for a few nights with a packed bag. I was quite confused because I thought the agreement was pretty clear, and he didn't wanna know any details. Fortunately, this happened therapy, and our therapist immediately snapped us out of it. Hubs gave me the silent treatment for 3 days but then simply asked me to stop seeing my 'friend', and never brought it up again. I'd already made that phone call right after therapy. I was unaware that he didn't take me seriously as I wasn't even sneaking around to do it. When I'd see my old flame, I'd say I have a "study group" in air quotes before leaving or if he'd call ... WE BOTH KNOW I WAS NOT IN SCHOOL. Lol
Anyway, our sex life really improved after he learned I was getting my needs met by someone else. It was a good fire. He went to the doctor to handle all of his medical conditions, he went to private therapy and couples therapy, and we really worked on our marriage together to get over his betrayal. The game changer was private therapy. He did some kind of therapy that helps u with repressed feelings. That whole ordeal was now 2.5 years ago, and now we're 2, maybe 3x a wk consistently.
The other day, he commented that even though it saved our marriage, he doesn't want me to cheat on him again, so he will try to meet my sexual needs no matter what.
I really dont feel like I cheated. We never worked on or even talked about me cheating in or after therapy. I really think he just forgot or blocked the experience out of his memory. I am not gaslighting him.
Knowing the actual facts, did I cheat on my husband? I feel like the moment I caught those texts, all bets of our vows were off, and there were only 2 options.

I also worked as Operations Manager for a solar company, lead information analyst and business developer at another agency, and my first job out of college was as a genetic sequencer for the AIDS genome working at the NCI (National Cancer Institute). Since moving, I've applied to LITERALLY over 1200 jobs on LinkedIn, Indeed, ZipRecruiter, and others, while also attempting to solicit jobs on Upwork and freelancer.com, all to no avail. I have gone to multiple job fairs, and had great interviews (3 of the 1200 jobs applied to). The area I live in has good prospects for engineers who have security clearances, but I am not applicable for security clearance because of a prescribed medication I take. I would like to be in a place where I feel comfortable starting another business, but at this point money is sparse and I need stable income. In the interviews I've had, the lower-level jobs tell me I'm far too over-qualified and some of the jobs I believed to be at my level want people who have been working specifically only in that job title for over 7 years (which seems obscene). I have been applying to statistics, data science, leadership roles, management, director, officer, and other positions, and I've gained huge experience since leaving my company in IT and software development, SEO, machine learning, and other essential tools for business development as well as becoming acquainted with cloud platforms, software languages, and data archetypes much more intensely. It is getting to a point after over a year without a position that I cannot reconcile why I am not able to get any responses and any time I ask for feedback, the recruiters say they don't have enough time to respond. I must be missing something because I've done everything suggested - from going to job fairs in person, to improving my skills in the meantime, to getting Harvard Course certifications, emailing recruiters directly, expanding my circle on LinkedIn and more. I'm more than halfway done with a mobile app I'm developing on Flutter for android and apple phones that I've been working on alone, and have two other company ideas that are generally in development, but will not be finished in the near future. It is becoming extremely disappointing after moving to a cheaper area already to have had no job the entire time. I've even posted tutoring services in the local area all over Facebook and so much more. I would prefer a remote position as it is something I'm more comfortable with, but have applied to in-person positions as well. Again, all I can conclude is I'm just missing something that other people understand, because countless days of research, performing quizzes for applications, and filling out job listing after job listing has left me with a feeling that seems personal at some level. I have googled my name and not found anything specific that would prevent me from getting a position either at or near the same level as before. I believe I'm extremely capable and apt to perform duties necessary for the jobs I apply to, but like I wrote as my title, I have to be doing something wrong in my process. Please advise.

Hello all Redditors, I'm a 2x CEO who was forced to close up shop in late parts of 2021 due to issues brought about by my partner whom had been doing nefarious things under our company name. My past companies were in biotech and intellectual property consulting. I have a bachelor's in mathematics from a fine school, and moved away from the area to a new place and have since got counseling for the absolutely insane story that ensued after discovering the wrong-doings mentioned and confronting the person. My partner was my father who held a lawyer and accounting license which is why I hadn't much thought he was capable of doing some of these things to people, let alone someone in his own family. Before that I worked developing companies from scratch and helping them achieve Pinksheets OTC status (have aided in more than 4 companies getting to this level) for public trading - preparing SEC form S-1's and advanced business plans including forecasting, industry statistics, and more. 2023.06.08 20:54 twirlygirl7 Our (m32, F33) trip with the in-laws (m 52, F51, M29)

My husband (m32) and I (f33) decided we would go on a vacation with us and our little family. We have had strained relations with his family. Due to finances we have been unable to go on their normal vacations with them much in the past. We decided to invite them along since we could afford this one and hopefully it could help relations. We each chose some activities we wanted to do and ultimately both my MIL and my husband and I landed on 1 activity each that would take a bit of time but was important to us.
We were supposed to do ours on the road trip to our destination, only they left really late. (They had convinced us to let them rent a car so we could all drive together) Since they left so late we were unable to see it the first day, but they promised we would either go there on a down day or on the drive back.
My BIL and his wife tagged along. We had talked many times with MIL and FIL about how we wanted to take things slow and they agreed while we were planning but BIL hates taking things slow so was constantly rushing them and then they would try to rush us.
My MIL has some health concerns which I totally understand but they ended up using that as an excuse to not see our thing (even though her activity was nearly as far) and the same day they told us we wouldn’t be going , we drove to an activity my BIL chose which took us just a little bit under what it would have taken. (4 hrs 45 minutes, instead of 5 hrs 30 minutes) on the way back from BIL activity they asked if there was anything else we wanted to see, and my husband mentioned a place he wanted to go (it was about the 5th time he mentioned he wanted to go there throughout the trip) and they said that was too far as well.(Again we had just driven that far to see BILs spur of the the moment activity)
Also I bought a lot of food for the trip (it cost so much!) We had all agreed to pack lunches to save on money and instead they bought us lunch everyday which although sweet of them was another example of them changing plans.
When we spoke to them about the activity thing they came in gaslighting hard, saying “we’re sorry you feel that way” and “there must have been a misunderstanding- we thought we all wanted to do both activities” only we were extremely clear when we planned.
We decided we will be going on another trip just us to the same location asap so we can see all the things we missed.
This was mild compared to how they normally are and we are still so upset! We just don’t know what to do from here. We just feel like we’ve been emotionally so used. We tried really hard to plan this, and invite them and then they took it over with no regard to our feelings. What should we do about this situation? We are so lost!
