| Hi guys, I’m looking for a car for my gf(preferably Toyota), I’m not all too familiar with these cars so what do you think about the price of this? It’s at a Mitsubishi dealership. This is CDN$ btw. So approximately $14k USD submitted by fuzzyhuggz to Toyota [link] [comments] |
2023.06.10 20:36 KenzoSatori Which of these used cars should I consider buying?
I'm in college, my budget is very limited, but I do have a 2013 Chevy Spark to trade in. My main criteria are being under $10k, not needing any expensive work, under 200k miles, and looking good only as a bonus since it would be my daily. These are some listings I've found recently:
- 2005 Honda Civic LX, $3,500, 198,279mi
- Notable work: paint chips, new battery, alternator, wheels, radiator, timing belt, and brake pads
- 2001 Kia Optima LX, $5,991, 129,973mi
- 2004 Toyota Corolla LE, $5,200, 140,846mi
- 2004 BMW 3 Series 325Ci, $5,900, 164,848mi, manual
- Notable work: Accident history (can't view it), new oil filter
- 1998 Honda Accord EX, $5,991, 151,672mi
- 1986 Honda Civic 1500, $4,999, 123,121mi
- 2004 Honda Civic LX, $4,400, 162,777mi
- 2000 Toyota Corolla VE, $4,995, 101,981mi
- 2009 Honda Accord EXL, $4,900, 186,000mi
- 1997 Honda Civic DX, $4,500, 133,490mi
- 2005 BMW 3 Series 325i, $4,499, no miles listed
- 2011 BMW 3 Series 328i xDrive, $6,899, 183,413mi
All of these are from used dealerships as I'd kind of need to trade in with my Spark.

2023.06.10 20:21 WarPrestigious5471 Why would a dealership offer me an upgraded car for no extra cost?
I'm 2 years into a 5 year lease on a 2021 Toyota Rav4. Bought it from a Toyota dealership in the GTA.
They just called me this morning offering me the chance to upgrade to a 2023 Rav4. I asked what the cost was, he said my payments would be unchanged. They've set up an appointment with me to review it next weekend.
Just confused why they'd be offering this to me and why at the same cost. Is this normal?

2023.06.10 18:17 DJKhaledIsRetarded Can I actually get the dealership to tint the windows and throw in floor mats for free? (Texas)
I'm buying either a new Honda or Toyota. Nothing special, it's not like I'm rolling through spending 50k+. It's going to be a civic or a corolla. Financing is already set at the places I'm talking to, I've been approved and have the terms I want/am comfortable with.
This is the fourth car I've bought with my spouse but it's the first car I've taken my time and talked to multiple dealerships and such. Every other time I just had a car in mind, showed up, bought the car, sat in finance forever, and then left. My husband has always been convinced (I do not know who the multitude of people are that he claims told him this) you can get them to tint your windows for free and throw in the nicer floor mats before you buy.
I'm not in sales, he is. I don't even haggle with street vendors or anyone else. I really just think that seems unrealistic, as the price of something is usually just the price of it in my mind. So, can I ask for free window tint and floor mats, or am I just going to make a jackass out of myself by doing that?

2023.06.10 17:21 loz621 Just bought 2020 IS300 F Sport - My initial reactions and questions for community
Just brought home an IS 300 F Sport!
2020 Model
20k miles
$36,900
I have driven the car a total of only 45 miles but I wanted to share my initial thoughts and hear some thoughts and observations from the community that has some experience with this car or similar models.
First of all, I chose Lexus because I wanted that Toyota reputation for reliability. My previous car, an Impreza, was decently fun to drive but constantly needed repairs. It was from the first year of a new generation so I feel like there were a lot of kinks and that resulted in me having to get a lot of repairs. It his 146k miles and I decided it wasn't worth it to get another $2k necessary worth of repairs. So my question is - for IS300 drivers or other similar models, how are your maintenance and reliability costs? I am hoping that my new whip will rarely be in the shop. I love driving but I'm not really a "car guy" that can do my own maintenance.
Secondly, this car is very fast (at least to my perspective). I've never owned a V6 car. I had a long highway ride home from the dealership on somewhat empty roads and I found myself flying without noticing my speed. Do you all have any tips regarding paddle shifters and sport mode vs. eco mode? I just kept the car in eco mode on my first ride, but I'd like to know under what circumstances you use sport mode.
Third, I am in love with the aesthetics of the car. Personally I have black exterior with the Rioja Red interior. It looks fantastic. I think it's a nice blend of the luxury and sport aesthetics. The red leather is pretty sexy I have to say. Lexus was never really on my radar as far as a potential purchase. I have always had my eyes on a Mercedes C300 from an aesthetic point of view, but I didn't want to deal with the maintenance of a German luxury car. I think I made the right choice here (obviously, given my purchase) but I'm curious if anyone has any insight on comparisons to competing car brands such as Mercedes.
And finally, I'm just curious if anyone has any information to share with me as far as:
- random things I should know about Lexi (that's my plural for Lexus)
- random fun observations you've had driving this vehicle (or similar ones)
- tips and tricks that are not obvious to a regular driver
- experiences with this vehicle (or similar models) with regard to maintenance and repairs
- does your wallet hurt?
Just want to say I appreciate this community as I have been able to lurk around here and it helped inform my purchase. Drive safe, all!

2023.06.10 06:24 EbbAndFlowThroughYou Can I back out?
I made a deal on a certified pre-owned 2021 corolla at a Toyota dealership this past Sunday and traded in my car that I still had payments on (the trade in value was enough to pay it off). But when I got home I realized some deep scratches in the hood that weren't noticeable until after they detailed the car. I called them up and they told me that I would have to pay for that and they couldn't help me out even though I just bought the car. Ok fair enough I should have been more aware of the damage. That's my fault. But then the next day the front bumper cover corners popped out on both sides. I reached out to the dealership today and didn't hear back from them.
At this point I'm annoyed and upset with them about the bad customer service and I'm starting to have a bad taste in my mouth about the deal overall. Is it too late for me to back out the deal? And if it's not too late, would I be able to get my old car back? I checked and they don't pay off my car for another 10 days so it's technically still in my name and all that, if that matters.

2023.06.10 05:29 Shartplosion Spark plug replacement
I have a 2018 Highlander V6 and just hit 60k on the odometer. Owner’s manual calls for spark plug replacement and went to YouTube with DIY in mind. On this model you need to remove the intake and several hoses in order to reach the rear 3 plugs. It looks like a job I’m not going to attempt. I got a quote for the job by a local Toyota dealership and it was $1,100. Not complaining but wanted to see if others we’re surprised with this and get some feedback. I don’t have a mechanic but I think my next step is getting some quotes. Or go for it and cus while keeping bolts from falling into the open intake.

2023.06.10 05:01 Vandelay_Art Ascent maintenance requirements
Recently picked up a new 2023 Ascent and was told by the salesperson that the powertrain warranty only applies if the regular maintenance is done every 6k miles/6 months. I questioned what would happen if I accidentally went 7k miles between service appointments and she said a warranty claim could be denied if a major issue arose. With a hectic schedule and little kids that seems kind of unreasonable to be that strict on oil change requirements. Does everyone here methodically get oil changes done at 6k miles exactly?
I also have a 2023 Toyota Sienna that also uses synthetic oil and only needs service every 10k miles. I'm curious why the Ascent requires more frequent oil changes. This is my first Subaru and I want to be excited, but I was hoping to feel more confident when leaving the dealership, especially for a model that has had some prior reliability issues.

2023.06.10 04:21 anonbeyondgfw VW Atlas or Honda Odyssey for family use?
Have been doing test drives and shopping around for a family vehicle. We are not in a hurry what so ever but want to start looking and gather information to make informed decision.
Lately we went to a number of local dealerships and below are summaries of our experience.
Toyota: almost no cars in lot. All vehicles including Sienna are by allocation only and with markups. Prius ~$3k and Sienna $5-8k. Dealers would call you if something close to what you want is allocated and if you want it a $1000 deposits is required to secure your “spot”. I was polite but screaming inside “no way in hell” and left.
VW: test drove a V6 Atlas. Smooth ride, doesn’t feel clumsy given the size and profile. steering wheel feels very light, which caught me off guard because in my mind “German steering is heavy unlike flimsy Korean cars” thanks to my Audi sedan. Room is ample, even the third row is actually functional. Major downside OFC is the MPG. We knew it’s gonna be pretty bad with a V6 but our test drive was 11mpg. Still, we like it.
Honda: test drove a used Odyssey. Very nimble for a minivan, changing lanes feels as smooth as it can be. Ample power to overtake. Stowable seats and total 8 seats are absolutely appreciated. However the one we test drove had some electrical issues. Overall, I like the Odyssey. In my area tons of households got one.
Mazda: tried CX90 turbo premium. It reminds me more of a German car for sure. Steering wheel feels heavier, you can feel the power of the inline 6. interior also beautiful, love all those buttons. However the 3rd row was not practical, legroom kinda ok BUT 2nd row seats and rails are in the way of 3rd row passenger’s feet, which renders the legroom useless.
Kia: tried carnival, top trim. Ample rooms and seats. Tech overload, the blind spot camera footage shows up when turning light is on, very useful feature. However, the interior feels shallow, you can feel a sense of cheapness in their imitation of “luxury.” For example, nicely looking leather covers the seat, the back though is covered in black synthetic materials and stitched with the leather. Trust me when I say the work was not done nicely and lack of any craftsmanship is notable. Then again it’s a sub 50k vehicle so corner cutting is expected. What really drove me away was the bumpy ride and super super light steering wheel, plus the drag. Yes when driving a carnival you can absolutely feel the weight, unlike Odyssey. Less nimble, way less. A big mark up was also asked.
In the end we are focusing on Atlas and Odyssey. I’m the kinda guy who does too much research when making big purchases. So I looked around to learn more about the reliability of both models. Sources include car forums, caredge, carcomplaints, consumer report etc. boy oh boy the more I look the less I want to buy car at all because issues are all over the place for both models. Hence now turning to the only place that matter, Reddit, to pick your guy’s brain. Which one I should go for?

2023.06.10 03:29 Crispynipps Store location question for shop and pay.
| Alright so this last week I’ve had a lot of shop and pay orders for a meijer location about 8 miles away, while sitting less than a quarter of a mile from a meijer, with orders going close to the one I’m sitting near. The checked one is the close one, x is far. Is it wrong to go to the closer of the 2 and just press arrived at store? I’ve done it a few times, it’s a pain because the aisles aren’t the same but I’ve been shopping so long they don’t really matter, but the pay is great, because it adjusted for the other location. I’m talking like $24 3 items type of pay. submitted by Crispynipps to doordash_drivers [link] [comments] |
2023.06.10 00:36 Ill_Effective_7425 2012 Camry Hybrid 115,000 miles transmission fluid exchange service - is it necessary?
Took car to toyota dealer for oil change and they said I need transmission fluid exchange service done on my 2012 Toyota camry hybrid xle. It's never had it done before as far as I know. I've read mixed info online regarding this. The maintenance log that came with the car makes no mention of transmission fluid. Dealer would charge about $280.
They also said I needed a bunch of other things done like coolant and inverter coolant flushes and new spark plugs that I've actually had done at another local toyota dealership within last 10-20,000 miles. They said I need a new cabin air filter even though I literally just changed it myself. So I'm pretty skeptical and unsure what actually needs to be done. The other service they said is critical is PCV valve and they'll charge about $630.
The total for everything they wanted me to do was over $3,000.
Going on a road trip soon and want to make sure car is reliable but also recently lost job and trying to save money. Any advice on the transmission fluid and PCV valve is appreciated!

I plan on buying about a 13 thousand vehicle at a dealership I'm going to put down 10 thousand and pay the rest over monthly payments the next 2 or 3 years to boost my credit. I'm probably going to get a high interest rate I don't have much of a credit history just 2 months of my credit card being used. Any thing I should know ? Most likely going to be a Toyota dealership

I went through four different dealerships today. The most decent deal I could find is a 2016 Jeep Cherokee for $23000 CAD at 75000 km
I will be financing. I’m limited to financing because can’t afford to pay cash more than 3000$
Japanese is kind out of question. I’m in Windsor, Ontario and Honda, Toyota prices are way out of my budget.
I just need something that lasts a decade(ish). The car has good maintenance history and I will be continuing that pattern.

| I was driving past charm on College Avenue, and there was a little (15 lbs maybe?) white dog running down the middle of College Ave heading north. It crossed the bridge over the river, turned right on MLK Pkwy, and went behind someones house (marked in the image). I tried to see if it would come to me, but it wasn't a big fan, and I lost track of it at the end of the driveway.
