2023.06.05 05:53 Dry_Nectarine5457 Chuck E Cheese’s West Des Moines Iowa, 3 stage, June 4th 2023
| Reposting on other account because I think I’m shadow banned. The 3 stage in West Des Moines Iowa is underrated and is in good condition. Pineville North Carolina obviously comes in first. But out of 6, this comes in 2nd with the rest of the 3 stages practically being dead. I was able to get plenty of footage of this location. My point is, if you want to see a working 3 stage that isn’t just nightmare fuel and you aren’t close to Pineville NC, come to this location in West Des Moines Iowa. It’s only got maybe a couple weeks. The animatronics actually have smooth movements and aren’t just limited to arm jerks. If you are in the Midwest, it’s a good location to try and get to. Worth the 4 and a half hour drive. submitted by Dry_Nectarine5457 to chuckecheese [link] [comments] |
2023.06.05 05:09 notlikethatglue What do I know about glue
Yo glue. You don't use this place so you'll never hear this but I got to tell someone and I'm not going to send it to you and sound even crazier I don't want you thinking I'm some kind of psychopathic stalker and I want you to feel comfortable and respected with your boundaries. So let's get down to brass tacks.
Girl when I think about you and all this s*** that went on and I think about me. It reminds me of when in pulp fiction Bruce Willis is popping Marcellus Wallace (Ving rhames) in the face saying "you feel that?" That's your pride f****** with you or some s*** like that.
Man glue how the hell are my feelings going to be hurt and how can I be so selfish as to even think that I deserve to be respected or put any expectations on you I'm not going to go into huge detail. Reason being is because the rest of the world will hear it but you probably won't but at least out there in the void I'm going to make it to where the respect you deserve this voiced from me and that you're honored for the things that you've done selflessly. Being thet our sister birthday was yesterday and she's no longer with us I think she would smile from above knowing that I finally said something like this.
Hey let me say thank you for real. Thank you for shutting my ass down and thank you for this list I'm about to go through which I will go into detail at a later time.
I'm going to write a story about our lives. I'm telling you it's going to happen. I started three separate writings and I'm ready to scrap them all to tell our story. I'm going to focus on that in my writings anyways on to the summary of what glue means to me or what I acknowledge about glue.
What you were up against.
When we met. You a teenage girl. Abandoned by one parent in a very vile way. The other parent was raising you. We were running around, you got sick, and you were in the hospital for weeks with some very serious troubles. Towards the end of the hospital stay cuz I was in there with you the whole time. The other parent came said that they won't going to deal with you and for you to figure it out a young girl in the hospital. The crazy part is you had done nothing wrong. That was my first real dose of surrealism in people next to some childhood stuff from one of my mother's boyfriends. And shortly after you were told you didn't have a home to come back to as a teenage girl in the hospital the doctors came in and said you would never be able to get pregnant or bare children. You moved in with us me my mom and my sister. And after all that you have been through you would think that you'll be nervous or anxious or things will be awkward. No. You stepped into the home and you immediately brought light into it that it was missing. You immediately were a part of the family and you were a part that was missing the whole time that no one ever knew about. You became a daughter to my mother a sister to my sister and more important things than my words can express right now to me. You kept a strong mentality and glue you were always the caretaker. You dealt with me a young pig-headed man very much in love with you with the drug addiction you catered to me. But not like a slave you catered to my soul there is never someone that I can ever dream of to treat me the way you did. You were loyal man you were my everything. I was yours. None of this is going to be an order but I've traveled with you across the country. We moved to Louisiana. I got a job on the tugboats. You were in the middle of a new scary town. And here I was gone 30 days at a time. But you held on. That was a really stressful time when I look back and that was a time when even though it was an experience I regret that decision because being gone that long from you at that young seemed okay then but even though my buddy's family was around I should have been there. But we did it the best we could. Eventually that didn't work out I'll never forget two cats in a 1984 Ford escort and all our s*** driving all the way to the East Coast. That escort could do some runs now. Anyways we moved to the beach. Being close to home my drug addiction was still an active Factor at all times you held on every time you could. When we move to the beach we decided we were going to do other things we came back to the city. That's what my sister move to the beach with her friend and we were in the city and got to call she had been in a car wreck.
We fly down to the beach before that even cut my sister out of the car we made a 2-hour drive in about 45 minutes. They will my sister in you were right by her side by my side you were there fam you were going through it with me, with her, with the parents. The wheel her in she said she couldn't feel her legs. Boom paralyzed never going to walk again. Thank God she lived and thank God she has such an amazing sister beside her during it all.
After rehabilitation the situation that it happened put my mom into a absolute mental tailspin. So we stuck around as my mother could barely function to tend to my sister.. to your sister. So you a young young woman who had been s*** on by her family. Took over my mother's role and began caretaking for my sister, all the while taking care of my mom with her mental episodes and and down time, and taking care of a loving man with an addiction that had selfish tendencies and you filled the role of all three caretakers and still manage to love me and show me affection with a smile on your face. You took care of the whole house. You took care of the animals. I'm not talking about any of the good really that I did or anybody else did I just want you to be recognized here.
We decided to move to Florida after a long time of you taking care of my paralyzed sister and helping her acclimate until she started lighting it up. What she took off and became president the Honor society went back to school started doing fundraisers was in the Miss wheelchair state runnings eyeballing Ms wheelchair America..once she got in her groove... We went on to Florida.
In Florida you dealt with a man that had just found the purest cocaine he had done in a long time for dirt cheap prices. Through pretty much the whole stay we were there the years we were there. But I wasn't completely a lost cause so in Florida you became a business partner, an entrepreneur, an inventor, a teammate, a valuable asset, Chief cornerstone that all things business relied on between us and my buddy that we went into business with. Your pragmatic approach and abilities dominated with mine. The things I fell short in you could put into place... I don't want to say my inventiveness and idealism was the exact complimentary opposite to that where you lacked. But I'm going to be straight up with you you were just as inventive, sellable, full of ideas, practical enough to make it happen, and able to execute. So you were still at a young age early twenties the most amazing business partner I could ever ask for. Not to mention the fun in the sun the palm trees the tacky gold the new cars living on the beach man I was built for that s*** and I know you were. Eventually when the big collapse of the towers came, and us with our lack of savings which was a big part my fault. After September 11th the market just crashed and we didn't do business and s*** started going backwards and we sold our debt for what a couple thousand bucks? To watch my friend hold on to that business and buy us out of all that debt until it finally bankrupted was insane he really held on to that dream.
Anyways by the time we get back to our hometown not only is my sister been in a wheelchair now my sister develops a tumor on her pituitary gland Cushing's disease. My drug addiction is full force when we pull back into town. You jump right into action taking care of her everyone and by this time your family had got back in your life your parents. And you forgave them and let them in boy I'll never forget to work it took for you to get over that I remember the days that I sit with you and helped you work through that stuff. But you forgave you opened your heart and you opened your arms and embrace family. And you took care of everyone.
We get married. I get you pregnant the first child. I'm so far in addiction now that we're back home ground zero for those old habits. You're neglected, I'm high, selfish,I'm ashamed so basically I either don't come home because I've been up all night High s*** spending all of our money. And I mean all of it taking right out of my pregnant wife's and the baby's mouth to serve my f****** addiction. and you just held on. Remainder Rock still taking care of my sister. Still being there for my mom. And absolutely the polar opposite of what the doctor said when we first met about not being able to have kids. So after neglecting you constantly pawning off tons of responsibilities on you and spending every penny we had and expecting you to take care of the kids and never being home and being unavailable because I had a disgusting ratchet ass bottom of the barrel love affair that started with cocaine but once I tried to sling and learn how to cook cocaine became Crack to be exact. I traded you, businesses, vehicles, Mom Dad the kids, stability love, God, futures, anything everything I traded for that nasty b**** crack. Mind body Spirit trade it at all.
And what did you do you kept managing with what you we had you kept trying to hold it together and you held on for dear life.
Now you had already become a daughter to my mother and you were a sister to my sister so my part to play in that has nothing to do with y'all's relationship at this point. There's a very painful thing that I'm even scared to talk about maybe one day. Anyways finally you said you couldn't do it anymore I had driven us in the dirt I had literally turned us into basically homeless people with kids and I just could not stop when I would get to the bottom I'd bring a jackhammer and I'd find a new bottom. And you finally took your eyes off of me and you looked at what was the most important our child and you said it's time to separate you had to do it. Our separation you still tried to work with me as I got off the drug short-term and you came back and that's when I got you pregnant. That's what I want to talk to you about one day when we have time. But that has nothing to do with the honor you deserve because you are always were and not a doubt my mind always will be a loyal honorable commendable Royal woman a true virtuous woman.
Anyways when we started talking again during the separation I got you pregnant again. We got back together to try to make it work for both our kids now. But I wasn't going to give up crack for you all the families all the religion all the money and all the happiness in the world. I was that f****** stupid. God is good because I didn't 12 step my s*** out of there with that God come down and put a disgust and a chill in my bones about that s*** and made it disappear overnight. Maybe another time because it was way too late when it happened. Anyways I got you to raise two kids stole all of our money stole all of our food stole everything we didn't even have gas half the time. You hold on. You held one. I still have the claw marks in my soul from where you didn't want to let me go because you were that committed and that good of a woman. That in tune with family.
You went on to raise the kids by yourself you hooked up with another dude he got you pregnant then you dealt with him abusing you physically. Torturing that household. I know he's changed but I know some of this s*** that he did to my kids because I could see it in their eyes every time I would drop a fork. Thank God they healed from that. Whether they healed fully especially one of them I don't know. But then the question would have to be raised does the pain in the issues they go through revolve around him or revolve around the traumas from me. Cuz a dad supposed to be there. You basically dealt with him terrorizing y'all raising hell you've told me some of the things that he used to do to you I don't see how you can still talk to me like he needs you and you've got to be there for him but that's on you and I respect it but the way that you explain some of the things that he did to you to me it makes me sick to my stomach because I could just never see myself like harming you physically over and over and over again and doing things to you in other forms of physical abuse and getting pleasure or control out of it. But I can see taking you everything you ever owned and never given our kids a chance or anybody else and giving it all to crack can I so I don't know there. I just know it blows my mind. But I think it comes a lot from the fact I left us so bottom of the barrel out back from my addiction that as long as somebody was providing you felt some form of security over top of what I left you with which was complete insecurity. Maybe that's why you stuck around for the abuse and still justifiy it over top of the things I've done to this day.
You raised his kid, you raised my kids, you were the one true parent you were two dads you were one mom. You were a counselor, a provider a mediator a caretaker a teacher a protector a shelter a guide a mentor a motivator a problem solver you were a parent and you played the role of three parents. Plus you worked plus you were there for my family whenever they needed you. You were there for my sister all through her Cushing's disease. And there's so much more because you were building towards the future on your own establishing financial security vision for yourself holding the fort down getting damn near no financial help from me none 00.
I incurred 135,000 child support debt with you. How's that for deadbeat dead? See this isn't about the arrogant narcissistic guy you think I am this is about who you are. Let's just fast forward so we getting locked up for child support even though you had already told me you weren't working on getting all of that got rid of. And yes you may not believe this but my whole f****** inheritance is going to you not one red cent goes to me because you earned that. Yo you earned like 50,000 times that times a hundred times 50. All of the money in the world in my opinion is still not enough compensation if it was given all to you for the things you've done.
Now fast forward to my sister dying she's on her deathbed she's checking out. you stay and active part of her life and you check on her and you stay by her side and you are there with her as a friend you coming you become her caretaker in the end you help my mother you stand by my family side we see my sister into the Afterlife and we live the lives we live.
I come to the city out of the blue I'll come to find out there was a warrant out I get arrested. With some help from another family member if y'all bond me out with $13,000 cash. A week later I'm called by the courts they said we didn't have to show the decision could be made without us there and when we pop up they walk out and they say here here's your piece of paper sir. You owe $14.75. I'll look at the piece of paper it says Mr so and so your debt with child support enforcement has been cleared in full please pay us these $14 processing fees and your case is closed. You smiled me a smile at you.
And you said the most horrific thing I've ever heard in my life from someone. I'm being cynical here because it was really the most amazing thing but I hate the term because I'm a basket case. You looked at me and said be better do better.
Fast forward after that I started trying to get my s*** together started trying to help you with vehicles and stuff around the house and somehow... Some f****** way... I had the audacity to get offended by the way you were treating me. And I had a nervous breakdown. And I begin saying things to you the absolutely weren't true that I absolutely didn't mean and I f****** flaked.
You with no contact to protect yourself.
Look at what you have done how could I have done that?
Anyways I've seen my mom turn on you with her words. I've seen your parents turn on you, I've turned on you, seen your friends turn on you, I've seen a world I've seen your ex's turn on you, but you know what I've never seen you turn on the people that you give your ability and your honor to and your bonds to I've never seen you turn on them ever.
You didn't turn on me you were protecting yourself.
Glue you were the strongest f****** woman I've ever met and you are worthy of an award that his world renowned and recognized because there are so many things that I haven't said here.
You are The Rock, you are the glue, you are the ties that bind... You are the virtuous woman. Proverbs 31 versus 10 to 31 is the description of who You are. Even to the point of where our kids were raised by you to place the dwelling now that you're at. You have taken in so many other people's kids you're like a parent to everyone. You excel at every job that you do. Vital asset to every team that you join. Highly efficient highly intelligent. Insanely gorgeous. Smart funny. God your sense of humor is so f****** awesome.
I'll see things in pictures my brain sees things in pictures and I just see pictures of you sometimes where always if we were around somebody that was down you would do the goofiest s*** you had to do to get them to smile because that's what you do. Just like sis did and this is her birthday gift from me because she told me several times to think about how hard you have worked. And she begged me to draw that picture before she died I got it toward the day before she died it was so important to her that picture is me holding her hand and her grabbing a star and her feet rooted to the ground and the roots coming into my feet and it says my brother taught me to reach for the stars my sister taught me to remain grounded.
And it's weird because I look at that and I think about how much of a icon and how much of a aura and presence glue was see y'all were glue one and two. And I'll go get that picture that she had me draw and it brings these overwhelming senses of things because I miss her so much but it brings you into the picture too because you always kept me grounded and I could envision anything anything on vision and you could take it for what it was and you could be like okay it's not that practical but it can be done and you would make the systems that made it happen no matter what it was I could create anything with you. You are after all Earth. I'm air. Reach for the Stars grounded etc.
Do you have so many amazing qualities and you have done so many honorable things. And for my sister's birthday I honor you her sister because the things that she said really ring true now. If you never talk to me again I respect it, if you want us to try to have some kind of working amicable relation I respect it but I have to have communication, you are so much of everything good and honestly I still love you so much thatI fall apart in your presence. But forget me man for real f*** me. Glue I want you to be happy you deserve happiness and if I take away from that then I need to shut my f****** mouth and I need to take that s*** so I went down and I need to smile because I know that you're happier. I truly know what it's like to want something so bad because I have for years but I never got healthy I'm just now getting around to taking care of myself. But I have for years wanted you and when I couldn't have you that's when you became Bruce Willis and you was popping my ass in the face saying you feel that boy that's your pride f****** with you.
Will glue I'm swallowing my pride. I want you to be happy no matter what I want you to be honored. If you ever do decide you want me in your life in any form please give me the communication I need to approach it healthily if not I'll f*** it up. I'm not even going to ask you what you want I'm not going to bug you but if by some chance in hell you ever find this letter just know at any point anytime you can reach out to me and ask for anything. I have taken and taken and taken and you have given and given and given it's time for me to sit the f*** down shut the f****** and love you the way you're supposed to be loved. And that means unconditionally loving you for who you are not loving you for me loving you because I absolutely adore who You are and I want to see the best life you can have happen.
You probably can't see your value and priceless coming out of my mouth or anyone else still does not do it justice.
Going to write a story about us glue.
And I promise to never promise again and just show you by allowing you the power dynamic you deserve to make your own choices and get the happiest healthiest life you can without me interjecting you've done it well this far better than me. Have made myself look like a total helpless loser in this but we both know what I'm capable of and what I'm about. If you need a roll for me just communicate it. I'll give it my all even if giving it my all means standing outside the box looking in but never burdening you with the fact that I am anymore.
And I'm not going to bring it up. Man I hope one day you get all the things you deserve.
You're admired appreciated loved and honored. By many. You are the Chief cornerstone woman. You are woman all woman.
I love you always will. Have my power dynamics take what you need and should you ever need me to flex my power because we both know all you got to do is make the call and I'll flex on whatever the hell you need me to as hard as you need me to and I'll scoop my ass right on out the way if that's what you need after it's done
Thank you glue
Buy some odd chance should you ever want me to be the one to try to love you communicate with me and point me in the direction I'm so f***** up out here I need direction and I know that they could be poisonous to you so you being The logical thinker that you are take that for what you will.
I've never been able to fully give myself to anyone else because I truly feel that to this day I will take my love for you to the grave.
You're that special.
Should I ever get a chance to love you and stand by your side of your man again you're going to have to let me die and and come out of the death of at least once because I'll die of happiness and wake up I just I wouldn't know how to handle it.
To me it's like imagine somebody said hey here's this egg but it doesn't have a shell that's just made of the rubber stuff that holds the shell together and you've got to run this egg 3 MI of mountain terrain in 20 minutes or the whole world ends.
Well I would just take the f****** egg and throw it on the ground. That's how I've been treating things. That's what I'm relearning everything.
It could be a detriment to you you know the sign of this always protect yourself and do what's best for your happiness but if I could love you again and be your man the things I would do I can't tell you because that would be the same old same old and honestly I just don't know.
I just know I love you you've always been everything to me and there will never be anyone that compares and there never has been.
Thank you for who you are

I would love to find a woman that is career oriented and has her life together. I would like to combine forces so we can achieve our goals together. I work in tech and have a good remote engineering job. Physical and mental health are very important to me. I work out 6x a week, I meditate every morning, and I love to hike and camp. I would hope you feel the same about these things. I also have a 3 year old son that I love taking on adventures. If you have a kid too I don’t mind, I actually think it’s amazing to meet a woman that understands that aspect of life. It’s not a requirement.
I ultimately would like to keep working remote and move to start a small farm with greenhouses and animals. I love gardening and I love taking care of animals. On top of all this I would love it travel more too. I haven’t left the USA once in my life and would love to change that!
My love language is physical touch and words of affirmation. I love spending time together and I love giving complements. I miss dating and I miss holding hands! I’d really love to get to know you. What your hobbies are and your goals. Would really love to find a woman I’m excited to go on a date with and excited to be with. I miss those butterflies and want to feel them again!
I am 6ft 2 blue eyes very long brown hair, athletic/muscular, 195lbs, beard, and tattoos. I take care of myself and hope you do too! 2023.06.05 03:24 askme2023 Offense: Concealment of whereabouts of a child
- a) Offense defined.–A person who removes a child from the child’s known place of residence with the intent to conceal the child’s whereabouts from the child’s parent or guardian, unless concealment is authorized by court order or is a reasonable response to domestic violence or child abuse, commits a felony of the third degree. For purposes of this subsection, the term “removes” includes personally removing the child from the child’s known place of residence, causing the child to be removed from the child’s known place of residence, preventing the child from returning or being returned to the child’s known place of residence and, when the child’s parent or guardian has a reasonable expectation that the person will return the child, failing to return the child to the child’s known place of residence.*
I learned of the above statute after reading about another missing child case, siblings, Ivon and Inisha Fowler. They have been missing now for over 16 years and their mother was charged for concealing their whereabouts. I’m not sure if there is a similar statute in North Carolina (NC residents please feel free to chime in here if you are familiar with the law). The reason why this statute is of interest to me is due to the circumstances of Asha’s disappearance.
Asha was not a teenager, nor a pre-teen, and was likely pre-pubescent. She did not have the right to “runaway” or disappear, even briefly. As a 9 year old, she was under the care, protection and guidance of her parents. She was allegedly last seen in her own home, in her bed. Not on her way to school, to the store, or outside playing with friends. Her parents were present the night she went missing, not away at work, or out visiting friends. Even if she was out walking on NC 18, her parents should have been responsible for ensuring that she wasn’t out there in such poor weather conditions, in the pre-dawn hours, unsupervised. Being steadfast asleep is not the strongest alibi or defense. There home showed no signs of a forced entry, and their front door was locked. It was also initially believed that Asha was a runaway. Her case was never classified as an abduction.
Today, if Asha were still alive she would be 32 years old. Now, as an adult, she would have the right to remain a missing person, thus this case can remain unresolved for good, and no crime was ever committed.
Asha Degree allegedly went missing right from under her parents watch, and they have no earthly idea, how or why. There has to be more that the parents know that they are not sharing.

2023.06.05 03:07 London-Roma-1980 CONFERENCE MATCHDAY 1 PREVIEW
The time for figuring out conference strength is over. It's now time to figure out who the best is in each conference. In a way, this is a more important segment of the season, taking up 2/3 of the time and a majority of the games. From the MEAC Celebration Event to the Conference Tournaments, everything is on the line here.
And fortunately, the concentration of the top 25 in six conferences means we've got a lot of important games. We even kick off with a battle between two top 10 teams! Let's get to it.
*****
#6 Michigan State (9-3, 0-0) at #7 Michigan (9-3, 0-0). Michigan's struggle down the stretch, with two consecutive losses, leaves them behind their rival in the current rankings. But right away, they'll get a chance to fix it.
"Little Brother thinks they mean something right now, huh?" Juwan Howard joked. "We're ready for this. Forget about Big Ten, tournament seeding, ranking. We just wanna whup 'em."
Both teams faced off against top competition in the non-conference schedule, but Michigan holds the bigger upset, knocking off Duke in a stunning development. Michigan State, meanwhile, lost one of their three games with a short bench thanks to a brawl against Notre Dame.
"We're not doing that again if that's what you're asking," coach Tom Izzo said. "We're going to prove our might on the court by winning the game."

In addition to the conference play, there will be two sets of non-conference games going on during this season. One is a series of exhibitions in the ACC, as the North Division, Charter Division, and South Division All-Stars play a round robin. The North draws from Boston College, Louisville, Notre Dame, Pittsburgh, and Syracuse. The Charter draws from Clemson, Duke, NC State, North Carolina, and Wake Forest. The South draws from Florida State, Georgia Tech, Miami of Florida, Virginia, and Virginia Tech. Each squad sends three players to the All-Star showcases.
In addition, the MEAC teams will play an 8-team "in-season tournament" called the Celebration Tournament. Opening matches and positions in the bracket were decided by random draw. Your performance in the tournament is the second tiebreaker (behind in-season head-to-head) for conference standings.

2023.06.05 02:32 momplaysbass I'd like to get some help with research questions
I live in Virginia, and the Library of Virginia is the place that is very likely to have records that I'm unlikely to find online. I want to have a plan of attack when I make the drive to Richmond so that I can maximize my time there. Does anyone here have suggestions on the types of questions I should try to research in a place with centralized records?
These are the specific questions I intend to try to get documents for, but I am open to any suggestions any of you have. The first obvious one is to get the death certificate of my father's maternal grandmother, since it isn't online, and I have no idea who her parents were. That document, if it exists and is filled out, will eliminate one brick wall. The next document I'd like to find is the manumission document for my great-great-great grandmother, who was freed sometime between 1840 and 1850. Knowing who freed her could open up another avenue of research. The third thing I'd like to find is any evidence of my father's paternal grandfather's mother prior to 1880. I don't think she's actually his mother (she would've been 49 when he was born: difficult today, probably impossible 150 years ago). The first record I have of his existence is a census record from 1880. She has a very common name (think Mary Jones) that makes it difficult to narrow down exactly which Mary Jones I'm looking for.
My dad's side has the most brick walls, so this trip I intend to focus on just his father's side (for the most part). His mom was born in NC, and it is a mystery why her mother was in Norfolk when she died (she is buried here so I assume she died here). I've got pretty good records for his maternal grandfather, and if I need more then that's a trip to North Carolina.
Thanks in advance for y'all's help.

2023.06.05 01:41 camknoppmusic To get a NC license, the DMV says that I need to show proof of NC car insurance, but my car isn't yet registered in North Carolina, so how am I supposed to get NC car insurance...?
On the Geico website, I tried changing my address from my previous MA address to my new NC address, and an error flare appeared stating that a MA car registration requires MA car insurance. But in order to register my car in North Carolina, I need to get a NC license, so it seems like a bit of catch-22 here...

News Reporting
Changing of the GM:
- Wojnarowski - 5/30: "Golden State's GM Bob Myers is stepping down as the franchise's president and general manager. With Myers' departure, Warriors owner Joe Lacob is expected to seek more prominent roles for his son, Kirk, an executive vice president of basketball operations, and VP of basketball operations Mike Dunleavy Jr."
- Slater - 5/31: "Warriors actually had a pre-draft workout while Myers and Lacob were doing their Tuesday afternoon press conference. It included Jaime Jaquez Jr., the UCLA wing who is an option for them with the 19th pick. Larry Harris, their long-time leader of college scouting, and Mike Dunleavy Jr., the presumed successor to Myers, ran it."
- Steinmetz - 6/2: "According to my sources, Mike Dunleavy Jr. is going to be the next General Manager of the Golden State Warriors. If the money is right, Dunleavy is going to be the guy."
Kenny Atkinson:
- Stein - 6/3: "Kenny Atkinson recently interviewed in Toronto for the Raptors' coaching vacancy, league sources say."
Draymond Green & Klay Thompson Extensions:
- Slater&Charania - 5/12: "Warriors intend to discuss a new multi-year contract with Green, either via an opt in and extend or an entirely new deal after an opt out, sources briefed on the matter tell The Athletic. Green has leverage: He is expected to have multiple playoff-contending teams in pursuit if he enters the open market"
- Wojnarowski - 4/16: "[Klay] Thompson, I'm told, has an expectation that he would be rewarded with a new, max-level contract extension this offseason"
- Slater&Charania - 5/12: "Thompson is extension eligible this summer. He’s making $43.2 million on the final year of his deal next season. If he’s to extend with the Warriors this summer, the expectation is he’d have to accept a paycut, as Andrew Wiggins did last summer"
Jonathan Kuminga's Future:
- Slater&Charania - 5/12: "The Warriors and Kuminga’s representatives are expected to discuss his future this offseason, league sources say. Golden State will need to decide whether Kuminga will receive a full-time role moving forward, and, if not, league sources say the No. 7 pick in the 2021 NBA Draft will want to be somewhere he can play more."
- Dumas - 5/13: "I’m told Jonathan Kuminga aims to split his off-season time in Miami, NYC, and LA. He wants to participate in alot of NBA open runs and showcase to people around the league what he can do on the court."

2023.06.04 20:23 jimbobbypaul Ranking the Top 131 FBS Programs of the Last 40 Years: 82. Memphis
Main hub thread with the full 131 rankings What if I told you Memphis made Peyton Manning the QB he is today? In 1996, Memphis hosted junior QB Peyton Manning and #6 Tennessee late in the season. Memphis was just 3-6, while Tennessee was 6-1 and in the hunt for a national title.
In true college football chaos fashion, the 26 point underdog Tigers pulled off a 21-17 win, scoring a TD with just 34 seconds to go. Returner Kevin Cobb took back a controversial 95 kick return for TD in which it looked like his knee was down, but the refs ruled it a TD. The play won an ESPY for college football play of the year, and the win was one of the biggest in school history.

- 213-253-6 record
- 2 conference titles
- 5-8 bowl record
- 4 consensus All-Americans
- 60 NFL players drafted
60 NFL players is a LOT. Especially for a Group of 5 team. Memphis has produced the most NFL draftees of anyone on the list so far with 60, more than the 6 Power 5 teams we’ve seen including Iowa State, Indiana, Kansas, and Rutgers. Primarily they’ve been a RB factory in recent years, producing NFL RBs DeAngelo Williams, Tony Pollard, Antonio Gibson, Darrell Henderson, and Kenneth Gainwell. The first 3 produced 1000+ yard rushing seasons in the NFL, while Gainwell ran for 100 yards in a playoff game last year, and Henderson won a Super Bowl with the Rams recently. They also have a shout to be Special Teams U, producing All-American K Joe Allison, All-American P Tom Hornsey, NFL 2010s All-Decade K Stephen Gostkowski, and current NFL starting kickers Jake Elliott and Riley Patterson.
Top 5 Seasons
Worst Season: 2010 (1-11 overall, 0-8 Conference USA) I can only imagine how helpless Dontari Poe felt. The 6’3 345 lb DT would be drafted with the 11th overall pick just 2 years later, and was a standout talent on an otherwise hapless Memphis team. Memphis ranked bottom 5 in both offense (14.4 PPG) and defense (39.8 PPG) in 2010, losing 8 games by 20+ points. Freshman punter Tom Hornsey probably enjoyed the inept offense, getting to punt 80 times for a 42.7 yard average. Hornsey would go on to be a consensus All-American 3 years later in 2013. They somehow beat Middle Tennessee 24-17, who made a bowl. But a 17-56 loss to 5-7 Houston was bad. Most of the blame fell on the shoulders of first year head coach Larry Porter, who prior to his hiring, had never been a head coach or even coordinator. Porter came from LSU’s RB coach position, and has returned to coaching RBs ever since his firing in 2011. As one
cfb member put it, “Larry Porter almost got our program cancelled.”
5. 2003 (9-4 overall, 5-3 Conference USA) After beating Tennessee Tech 40-10 in the opener, Memphis made themselves nationally known in week 2, beating Eli Manning and Ole Miss 44-34. Memphis QB Danny Wimprine outdueled Manning, throwing for 355 yards and 3 TD with no picks, also catching a 34 yard pass on a trick play. Future NFL RB Deangelo Williams burst onto the scene, racking up 166 and 3 TD from scrimmage on 32 touches. Ole Miss was a good team that year too, they’d finish 10-3 with a #13 final ranking. Memphis had a hangover after the game though, and won just 1 of their next 4. They grouped together to win 5 straight by an average score of 37-14, before losing to USF 16-21 in the final regular season game. Tied for 3rd place in C-USA, Memphis faced 3 straight Sun Belt champs North Texas in the New Orleans Bowl, shutting down any UNT passing game for a 27-17 win. Junior QB Danny Wimprine threw for 3000+ yards with 22 TD 13 INT, and would finish his career next season as Memphis’ all-time leading passer with 10,215 yards and 81 TD. DeAngelo Williams won C-USA Offensive POTY with just 11 games played, going for 1814 yards from scrimmage. Sophomore K Stephen Gostkowski was 19/29 on FGs.
4. 2017 (10-3 overall, 7-1 American) By 2017, Memphis was known as one of the more solid Group of 5 programs, having gone 27-12 over the previous 3 years, located in an area with lots of local talent. QB Riley Ferguson and WR Anthony Miller returned for their seniors year after a great 2016 connection, and would level up in 2017. In week 3 they hosted #25 UCLA and Josh Rosen, who had just completed a 34-point comeback against Texas A&M 2 weeks prior. Ferguson was the better QB on the day, throwing for 6 TD in a 48-45 upset win. After a 3-0 start they’d lose 13-40 to a UCF team that would finish the season unbeaten. A few weeks later, a 30-27 win over #25 Navy would give Memphis their second win over a top 25 team in one season, their first time ever doing so. Other wins included 42-38 over Houston after being down 14-31 in the 3rd quarter, 66-45 over 7-6 SMU, and 70-13 over East Carolina. It was #20 UCF (11-0) vs #20 Memphis (10-1) for the AAC title, and UCF, a team of destiny that year, would win 62-55 in OT in one of the games of the year. Memphis played an emotional Iowa State team in the bowl, who was having their best season in decades, and lost by 1 point.
Ferguson threw for 4257 yards 38 TD 9 INT, completing a fantastic 2-season career after transferring from community college. RB Patrick Taylor Jr. got the bulk of carries with 157 for 866 yards and 13 TD, but it was Darrell Henderson who popped off with 1154 rushing yards on 8.9(!!!) yards per carry. Anthony Miller was a consensus All-American with 96 catches for 1462 yards and 18 TD, leading the nation in TD catches. LB Genard Avery had a stellar season on the defensive side with 80 tackles, 8.5 sacks, and 13.5 TFL.
This was one of the best offenses in the country, ranking 2nd in PPG with 45.5.
3. 2015 (9-4 overall, 5-3 American) Justin Fuente was building something special at Memphis. Hired to clean up the mess Larry Porter left, Fuente had Memphis go 10-3 in 2014, his 3rd year, ending on a 7 game win streak. With that momentum, the Tigers started hot in 2015. A 55-23 win over Kansas in week 2 wasn’t even close, outgaining them 651-359. After wins over eventual MAC champion Bowling Green, and eventual bowl teams Cincinnati and USF, Memphis improved to 5-0, set to host #13 Ole Miss. In front of 60,000 fans, Memphis owned the Rebels, scoring 31 straight points in a 37-24 win. Memphis looked like a legit team that could compete with Power 5 schools for the first time ever. 2 wins later, they were up to #13 in the nation with a win streak of 15 games dating back to last season. The wheels would fall off against 6-1 Navy though. A -3 turnover margin was costly, as Navy just chewed clock on drives in a 45-20 win. Navy would go on to finish #18 and Keenan Reynolds was top 5 in Heisman voting. Originally the media darlings as the top ranked G5 team, #21 Memphis now faced unbeaten #24 Houston, who came back from down 34-14 in the 4th quarter to win by 1 point. Memphis slipped again, losing 12-31 to a really underrated Temple team, before taking their frusturations out in a 63-0 win over SMU. The 63-0 win had…the wildest statline I’ve ever seen? Ferguson went 9/14 on passes for 222 yards and 7 TD. Seven touchdowns on nine completions???
The year ended with an uneventful 31-10 loss to Auburn in the bowl. It was kind of a “what if” season for Memphis, losing 4 of their last 5, but still their 3rd best season in the last 40 years. Lynch parlayed a 3776 passing yard 28 TD 4 INT season into a 1st round selection by the Denver Broncos, successfully scamming the Elways. Somewhat deserved though, this team had just 1 other 1st/2nd team all-conference player in OL Taylor Fallin, so Lynch carried most of the load. Fuente left for the head coaching job at Virginia Tech after the season.
2. 2014 (10-3 overall, 7-1 American) The year before 2015 was slightly better. This team was young and nobody knew who they were yet, as they’d gone just 12-48 over the previous 5 seasons. The media could smell something brewing under Fuente though, as Memphis was picked 7th out of 11 teams in the American, giving them a solid shot at making a bowl. Memphis surprised everyone in week 2, playing #11 UCLA to a 35-42 loss in the Rose Bowl (venue, not game). A 41-14 win over Cincinnati in week 5 signalled that Memphis had truly arrived, the offense clicking on all cylinders with 610 yards and 0 turnovers. After a loss to Houston, Memphis was 3-3 and 1-1 in the American, about to get into the meat of conference play. Easy wins over SMU and Tulsa improved their record to 5-3, and a walkoff FG for a 16-13 win over 5-3 Temple earned them bowl eligibility for the first time in 6 years. At 6-3 and 4-1 in the American, Memphis just needed to win their last 3 games to claim the conference title. A soft remaining schedule consisted of Tulane, USF, and UConn, whose combined record at the end of the year was 9-27. Memphis won all 3 easily, and clinched a share of the American title with Cincinnati and UCF, completing a dream regular season.
They had a wild game in the Miami Beach Bowl, beating BYU 55-48, and tempers erupted at the end of the game, leading to one of the best brawls of the decade. Memphis achieved double digit wins for the first time in school history and finished #25, their first top 25 finish ever. LB Tank Jakes won AAC Defensive POTY with 92 tackles, 6 sacks, and 9.5 TFL. K Jake Elliott was the AAC Special Teams POTY, going 21/32 on FGs, ranking 1st in the AAC in scoring, and hit a 54 yard FG in the bowl. Justin Fuente won AAC Coach of the Year. Memphis football was back!
1. 2019 (12-2 overall, 7-1 American) This team was LOADED offensively. QB Brady White, the second year starting QB who transferred from Arizona State, could hand the ball off to future NFL RB Kenneth Gainwell, or throw to all-conference WR Damonte Coxie or future NFL players Antonio Gibson and Calvin Austin III. The year started strong with a 15-10 shutdown of Ole Miss, followed up by a 5-0 start. #23 Memphis lost in a 28-30 upset to Temple, but that’d be the Tigers’ last loss all regular season. With College GameDay attending, #24 Memphis beat #15 unbeaten SMU 54-48 in an absolute barnburner, Antonio Gibson going for 97 rushing yards, 130 receiving yards, 159 kick return yards, and 3 total TD. And he touched the ball just 12 times!!! That’s 386 yards on 12 touches! Memphis needed to win their final regular season game against #19 Cincinnati to make the American championship game, and grinded out a 34-24 win. The two would rematch a week later, and Cincinnati would give a better effort, but the Bearcats were too depleted at this point in the season, and Memphis scored a late TD to win 29-24 and claim their 2nd conference title in 5 years. #17 Memphis earned the Group of 5 slot for a New Years 6 bowl and played admirably against #10 Penn State, losing 39-53 in a fun game. The two were polar opposites, Memphis throwing for 479 yards and rushing for 53, while Penn State threw for 133 and rushed for 396.
Brady White finished 2nd Team all-conference, throwing for 4014 yards 33 TD 11 INT. He’d go on to finish his career a year later as Memphis’ all-time leading passer with 10,949 yards and 92 TD. Freshman RB Kenneth Gainwell had an unreal year, rushing for 1459 yards and 13 TD on 6.3 YPC while also catching 51 passes for 610 yards and 3 TD. WR Damonte Coxie was 2nd Team all-conference with 1276 receiving yards. Do-it-all WR Antonio Gibson put on a show all year long with 369 rushing yards and 4 TD on 11.2 YPC, 38 catches for 735 yards and 8 TD, and won AAC Special Teams POTY with 28 yards per kick return and a TD. Even TE Joey Magnifico was all-conference.
2019 Memphis is my 42nd best Group of 5 team since 1983.
5th Quarter
What play/playegame do you think of when you think of Memphis? Who was a better coach at Memphis, Justin Fuente or Mike Norvell? Fuente rescued Memphis from the depths they were in and built a solid foundation, while Norvell took it a step further, making a New Years 6 Bowl. How would you rank these QBs in college: Paxton Lynch, Riley Ferguson, and Brady White? How would you rank these RBs in college: DeAngelo Williams, Darrell Henderson, Tony Pollard, Kenneth Gainwell? What’d you think of those Fuente/Norvell teams that were beating top 25 teams on a yearly basis, were you scared of them? And how do you think Memphis should fare when it comes to conference expansion, are they a nice program to add?

Moving to Florida? This is your thread.
Ask questions, answer questions, or tell us your best advice on moving to Florida.
FAQ Section in the works
Feel free to contribute below!
Hurricanes
Hurricanes are part of living in Florida. Some years nothing happens, some years it's a wild ride.
If you're going to live beach side, then you need to take hurricanes seriously. Wind conditions leading up to them can and will cause the bridges to the mainland to close, meaning you can be cut off for extended periods from everything, including emergency services. Flooding/Storm Surge are real dangers to life and property. Make sure you have a plan way in advance for the high likelihood that you will lose both electricity and running water.
The further you get away from the coast and intracoastal zone, the lower the risks you have from severe damage from hurricanes, even major ones. But still have a plan, because anything can happen. Look for houses that have hurricane shutters or look into getting your home fit with them. Consider areas with buried power lines, as they're less likely to lose power. You can have a storm like Faye sit off the coast for days and flood almost everything. You can have tornadoes spawn from them. Fences are regular casualties of almost any named storm. Trees should be trimmed well in advance, paying close attention to when final collections occur before the storm hits so you don't have piles of potential wind debris laying in your yard.
That said: hurricanes are typically overblown by the media and should not be a major deterrent. As long as you have a plan and make sure that you're ready for the worst that could happen, you should almost always come out of the other side of hurricanes fine. Our local government knows how to handle them and a lot of infrastructure is built to withstand them. Most of us who have been through many of them don't consider anything Cat 3 or less to be anything more than a couple hour inconvenience. But always have a plan, no matter what.
Car & Home Owners Insurance
Yes, Florida has one of the highest rates of Car & Home Owners insurance in the US. It is recommended you find an insurance broker who can shop around (at no cost to you) for the best rates for your needs.
Car Insurance is required by law per vehicle per driver.
Toll Roads and You
Welcome to Florida, home of what seems like every toll road on the planet. You can certainly get around them, but it's significantly more efficient to use tolls.
E-pass Vs Sunpass: one or the other for all the tolls around Florida. Both are accepted across Florida, Georgia and North Carolina. E-PASS has less issues. Plus the advantage of their Uni, which is accepted across 18 states. Both gives you discounts on most tolls Florida.
Keep Discussion on topic. Comments such as the below will be removed:
- "Don't Move here"/ "Leave" or any variation of goes against Rule #1.
- "Don't {insert state} my Florida"
- Complaining about people moving here - this isn't the thread for that.
- Unwarranted political discussion/comments. This is not a politics thread.
Thread will refresh every 2 weeks.

2023.06.04 17:09 t_skoog Job Search Mixed Animal Veterinary clinic
Hi all, I am a current 4th year veterinary student, and I am in the process of beginning of job hunting in Raleigh, North Carolina, where I will be moving after graduation to be with my significant other. I am currently not in vet school at NC State and will be new to the area post grad. I have been struggling to find mixed animal veterinary clinics (clinics that see dogs and cats as well as farm animals) in the Raleigh area and was curious if
Raeigh had any recommendations of clinics or sites to check for job postings in the area. I have enjoyed field work and would be open to both hospital and farm call services. In addition, as a new grad, mentorship opportunities would be greatly appreciated as well. Thanks for the help everyone!

2023.06.04 15:49 KoBxElucidator Honeymoon Trip Report (5/30-6/4). Wife has an Autoimmune Disease so some disability insights here as well!
This was my first Disney trip since I was a kid in the early 2000s! And it was also our Honeymoon!
Fly-In day (5/30): We stayed at the WL throughout our time there. It was honestly one of the most beautiful hotels I've ever seen! That lobby is massive and gorgeous! We had some quick service food when we arrived at Roaring Fork. They had some decent dishes. The campfire cupcake was delicious. Today was a pool day, and I had a drink at Geyser Point. If you get a chance to eat or drink there, do it! It's a great lakeside bar! For dinner, we ate at Storybook Dining. My wife LOVED getting to meet the Snow White characters, and I'd say Dopey was our favorite interaction. He was so sweet. The Evil Queen saw our happily ever after buttons and said "Hmph, Happily Ever After indeed" xD The prime rib was great and I loved the dessert options. I need to find that mushroom bisque recipe....
MK Day (5/31): MK was as great as I remembered it. We were going to rope drop Space Mountain, but it was down when we got there (it was actually down for a lot of the day, more on that later). Instead, we improvised and our first ride was Buzz Lightyear. Almost got to 999,999 D; We next rode Jungle Cruise, and our skipper was absolutely HILARIOUS! xD We next got some breakfast at Sleepy Hollow. I had the waffle sandwich with nutella and fruit, and omg it was so good! We next rode PotC and saw the Tiki Room. Next was BTMRR and we had a blast. Next we saw some characters (Tiana and Rapunzel). Rapunzel is my wife's favorite Disney princess (she had a full Rapunzel outfit on), and she was beyond happy to meet her. We had lunch at Crystal Palace. It was great meeting Winnie the Pooh characters (Eeyore is our favorite!), and our server was hilarious (I sadly forgot his name, but he's from Australia and said my wife was smarter than the average koala lol) We then saw the Festival of Fantasy parade. Next we were going to ride Space Mountain, but it was down AGAIN. So we rode the People Mover and got to see Space Mountain with the lights on! Next we rode Space Mountain which was back up, and this is where our trip took a bad turn. My wife has a autoimmune disease, and after Space Mountain she was in excruciating pain. We did go to see Buzz and then rode HM. Since she had trouble walking at this point, I got her a wheelchair. For the rest of the trip, she was either in a scooter or wheelchair since she was in a lot of pain. We had dinner at Columbia Harborhouse. I loved the Haunted Mansion milkshake! I rode Tron solo next (that launch is insane O.o), and then got in the handicap area for fireworks. HEA made us both tear up xD We finished the night with lantern photos at the Rapunzel bathrooms, IaSW, and the Little Mermaid ride. Let me just say that WDW is so great for people with disabilities and in wheelchairs/ECVs. You can literally roll up to the ride vehicle and don't have to walk through the queue. On many rides you can STAY in the wheelchair or scooter on a modified ride vehicle! Disney gets major points in my book for all that. Definitely better that Universal in that regard. We ended the night with a boat ride back to WL.
Favorite ride: Either Jungle Cruise or Tron (though HM was my favorite as a kid!)
HS Day (6/1): We rope dropped MMRR (such a cute ride!) and then rode Star Tours. Next we met with Darth Vader and Sulley and had JackJack Num Num cookies. We rode Slinky Dog (a surprisingly thrilling ride! So much fun!) and bought some Star Wars merch. We saw the drum corp in TS Land (they were AWESOME!) We next rode RotR. We sadly got B-mode Kylo Ren, but the ride was still fun! The Kylo Ren animatronic looks meh anyway in ride POVs (though that's probably me just coping xD). The first order CMs honestly make the ride as great as it is, and our interactions were hilarious xD. We next got some GE refreshments with some blue milk. Was very refreshing on a hot day! Next was probably one of my favorite ride experiences of the day, MF: SR. Since my wife was in a wheelchair on our honeymoon, the CMs sprinkled some pixie dust and we got OUR OWN COCKPIT AS PILOT AND COPILOT! It was great with us shouting banter at each other and holding hands while making the jumps to lightspeed. We got two containers of coaxium, did a bit of damage to the cockpit lol (she made a mistake in the tunnel section by riding the ceiling of the tunnel xD), and we got the bonus asteroid field sequence! We had lunch at Sci-Fi Drive-In next, and our burgers were great! We next watched Indiana Jones (so much fun), and then did some shopping. I rode ToT solo (my wife wanted to save her hip), and I also rode TS Mania solo (she was done with rides at this point). As a thank you for letting me ride solo, I bought her a Woody doll (she loves Woody). We next built a lightsaber and droid (I did the saber, she did the droid). We had dinner at Docking Bay 7 with some ronto wraps and I did some shopping in Dok Ondar's to get some different color kyber crystals for by lightsaber. At this point my wife was just too tired to keep going, so we took a Minnie Van back to WL.
Favorite ride: either Slinky Dog or MF: SR (mainly for OUR OWN COCKPIT!). B-mode Kylo lowered my enjoyment of RotR which saddens me a bit :( that ride is just a maintenance nightmare, but it's a cool ride. Just not my favorite at HS. Maybe the Kylo animatronic could've made it better (but that's honestly just a 10 second part of an almost 15-20 minute experience).
Disney Springs day (6/2): we did a LOT of shopping today with some lunch at the Rainforest Cafe (one of my favorite restaurants as a kid). The June cookie of the month at Gideon' (the Sea Turtle) only lasted two minutes as I DEVOURED it. It was soooooo good! We had dinner at the Edison (my mahi was delicious and so was her steak). We were giving out thank you coins to amazing CMs and servers (not in lieu of regular tips ofc) so we gave our server one. In exchange, he gave us a High Roller coin! Idk if I'll be able to collect 4 for the free drink, but it's a great souvenir! We ended the night with Drawn to Life and it was absolutely INCREDIBLE! THE BEST SHOW AT DISNEY! SEE IT! We rode the bus back to WL after our little date night.
EPCOT day (6/3): we started the day with Spaceship Earth. Still an amazing ride! Next we got on Frozen Ever After, and it was honestly one of my favorite rides in WDW! Next we met with Pluto and then rode Journey into Imagination (such a cute ride!). We then rode GotG: CR and IT WAS SO MUCH FUN! We got "Everybody Wants to Rule the World" as our song! We next met Joy, Venellope, and Mickey. After that, we rode Nemo and saw some fish! Then we had lunch at Via Napoli with a wine flight and some amazing pizza! We did some world showcase exploring and Flower Garden booth sampling (Italy was our favorite pavilion) and my wife got an Venetian mask and a kimono at the Japan pavilion (we are thinking of going to Japan at some point and we also would love to go to a Japanese garden where she can wear it! It's a really pretty kimono!). We next rode Soarin' (BEST RIDE AT EPCOT!) and Living with the Land. It was downpouring at this time and thankfully these two rides gave us a chance to stay dry. We next rode Remy (funny thing happened here. We got stuck in the room with the rat uncorking the wine bottle. He was stuck in the uncorking animation for what felt like at least a full minute. It scared the crap out of us when the cork finally popped and we got sprayed xD). We ended the night with food and drinks from festival pavilions. We got a TON of topiary pictures throughout the day, saw the butterfly garden, and ate some delicious food. My favorites were the eggs benedict with lox and the fruit loop shake at brunchcot! Sadly I was tipsy, hot, and tired so I can't remember the drinks I had xD we ended the night by relaxing in the hot tub with sore feet and she was sore all over.
Favorite rides: GotG: CR and Soarin' (probably one of our favorite rides at WDW. It is so immersive!).
Fly-out day (4/4): And now I'm sitting waiting for our flight. Overall we had a great trip even though my wife was suffering a lot from her autoimmune disease flare-up throughout. The CMs were incredible and helped us out so much. They made the trip so much more enjoyable in what could've been a disaster at other places like Universal. Definitely go to Disney Parks if you have a disability!
