To be honest I don't know what I'm looking for, I just had a breakdown and im trying to collect my mind in one piece. It'd be nice if I foud someone I could talk with daily.
So a little about me. The title mentiones my whereabouts and age, if you want to know my name a dm you will have to do. My interests / hobbies are a long list of things that I've managed to get very good at, but couldn't choose one to devote my life to - editing, music making, writing, reading, computer science, coding, web development, photography, construction, philosophy and a little more.
Right now I work as a barista, hoping to change that by the end of the year... I like horror / creepypasta and the existential dread some of those stories cause you. My all time favourite is cosmic horror. The great unknown, things behind the veil.

Over the last 4 months I’ve dedicated myself to being a better person overall. In aspects. Getting active again and getting into a routine with it. Daily readings and meditations. Ensuring I keep my environment clean and neat at all times. Dedicating some time each day to read, learn, do school work, and grow any way I can. I have devoted myself to being a kind and caring human in all I do. To radiate love and positivity. To help others and reach out to people often even if it’s simply to remind them that they have someone who is there for them and express my gratitude to have them in my life. I make an effort to be of service to others whenever I can. I am actively getting involved with service commitments to help others struggling with some things I also went through but fought and beat. I will share a message of hope positivity with anyone who will listen. I will adhere to a specific bed time and wake up at the same time daily. I will be involved with all my friends as much as possible and seek the things that being me peace and happiness every day. If I set my mind to something, I will do the best job I can and earn my way into being respected and dependable. I will take on responsibilities and leadership opportunities as they arise and give my all to succeed at them. I will do the same for all aspects of my life. I will hold no resentment towards anyone, have no hate or anger in me toward anyone, and make sure I remain open minded and willing to do whatever is necessary to grow and thrive in my own life and also repair damaged relationships from the past if at all possible. I won’t be selfish today. I will be humble. I will be grateful for the blessings that I have in life. For the opportunities that I have. The things I possess. Stable housing. Nice clothes. Food to eat. Family support. People who love me unconditionally and are always there for me and only want to see me succeed and happy. I will someday attempt to be the same way and repay them for all they’ve done for me and sacrificed to give me the life I have. I will be mindful of my accomplishments. I’m educated. Intelligent. Super funny. Awesome to be around. Very talented musician. Excellent writer and top notch medical research writer as well. I can live today. I can be free today. I can choose what to do my day every day. I have the ability to help people change their life and reinvent their identity. I’m a survivor. I’m a success story. I am a miracle in the flesh. Now I must copy this and read it every day to remind myself of my aspirations and dreams. What I’ve accomplished and overcome. Who I can become and will work towards becoming daily. Because I deserve it, I am worth it, I am fucking incredible in so many ways and if you are too superficial or not of a similar mindset- you will not get the chance to truly see and experience that which sucks for you. And is sad because you lack the ability to look past these things society dictates to be super important and necessary. You refuse to open your mind to new perspectives and ideas. To grow. To learn. And frankly if you are that type of person- I don’t want you in my life anyway because it’s exhausting and a waste of time even attempting to speak with you about anything interesting or relevant because you lack any understanding about life outside what you see on your social media Nooooo thanks.
There’s my positive rant today. 😊 felt inspired and motivated so I just went for it. Only we ourselves can manifest positivity into our lives and that is a process that requires patience, work, and selflessness.

We have a series of servers you can join and play from Survival, Events and eventually a Prison server! We have a fast growing community with loads to do. We have the players best interest in mind and all the players can vouch for that. Our team is devoted to keeping your gameplay as fun and safe as possible. One of our popular modes currently is survival check below to see.
Survival is protected with land claim (grief prevention), and you gain more as you play. We try to keep it as close to normal vanilla survival as possible. There are FREE in game ranks that you work towards by voting and unlock more land claim and chest shops. Keep inventory is enabled everywhere even pvp areas. The world border is set at 30k x 30k. Everything is pre-generated, so it is lag free. A few things of the many that we have is McMMO, jobs, fishing tournaments, quests, voting ranks, economy, player shops, events, rewards, guilds, and so much more.
In Survival, the economy is community based. Player build chest shops or sell in auction house for money. There are also Jobs which you can make money but also get points. You can use those points to by Vehicles (Planes, Trains, Cars, etc.) You can also use points to buy spawners. There are also custom enchants for the PvP areas. Survival has quick shop for selling to other players. Use player warps to get to players shops.
Newly added custom fishing and voting system! Find new types of fish and bait. There are also daily fishing tournaments at certain times of the day for rewards. We also just changed the vote system. Vote for vote points which you can redeem in the vote shop. You can get claim blocks, money, keys, and bunch of other cool stuff. There are also lucky votes which has a chance to give you rare keys.
Newly added resource worlds and events! The resource world resets every month and is limited with a 10k x 10k world border. The nether resource world is the same. The end resource world resets everyday. We also added in /events and with these there will be daily, weekly, and monthly events. If you are in the top 3, you will get a few good rewards (Keys, Job Points, Money, Diamonds). The weekly and daily events will be changed once a week, so that you have fresh events to compete in.

Welcome back Middlemarchers! We hit some rather long chapters this week, so I apologize if I omitted any details—plenty of room for discussion. And I’m fascinated to hear what you all think about the direction the book is taking.
Summary
Chapter 36
After the bombshell that is Featherstone's will, Mr. Vincy starts frantically worrying about his children’s future status in society and financial stability. He first targets Fred, for whom he has scant sympathy. He advises Fred to return to college and complete his education, but it remains unclear in this chapter whether Fred will follow this advice.
With the anticipated wealth and land no longer coming his way, Mr. Vincy starts to question the engagement between Lydgate and his daughter, Rosamond. He instructs his wife to persuade Rosamond to break off the engagement. Rosamond, however, remains steadfast and uses subtle manipulation to convince her father to not call off the engagement publicly. Lydgate, a man of higher social standing but modest financial means, remains largely unaware of the family's monetary difficulties until Rosamond mentions her father's altered stance to him. Fearing that Mr. Vincy might dissolve the engagement against their wishes, the chapter concludes with the couple deciding to fast-track their wedding date.
Chapter 37
This chapter unfolds with an analysis of the ongoing political environment at both local and national levels: the demise of George the Fourth has left the government transforming. The local political newspapers are similarly experiencing a shift. One such paper, The Pioneer, has recently put forth an article claiming it's an opportune time for competent men to play more significant roles in politics. The chapter kicks off with two peripheral characters, Mr. Hawley and Mr. Hackbutt, theorizing that the article points towards Mr. Brooke, fueled by rumors of his recent acquisition of the paper. As it transpires, the rumors are accurate.
Ladislaw continues his stay with Mr. Brooke and it is revealed that Brooke has proposed a job at the paper to Ladislaw. Ladislaw is giving the offer serious thought. Concurrently, Mr. Casaubon is expressing hostility towards Ladislaw's presence in the vicinity, something everyone but Mr. Brooke appears to be cognizant of. Ladislaw has been circumventing Casaubon, yet he also yearns to meet Dorothea. One day, he starts sketching near Casaubon’s residence, in hopes of catching a glimpse of Dorothea on her daily stroll. However, rain forces him to take refuge in the house, which, fortunately, Casaubon has vacated for the day.
Dorothea is thrilled at the prospect of conversing with Ladislaw since Casaubon appears uninterested in her opinions. They discuss various topics, mostly revolving around the shared family history of Casaubon and Ladislaw. Ladislaw brings up the job offer and Dorothea advises him to seek Casaubon's viewpoint.
Later, an irked Casaubon returns home and upon learning of Ladislaw’s visit, voices his displeasure about Mr. Brooke offering Ladislaw a job. He pens a letter to Ladislaw the following day, advising him to decline the job offer and relocate.
Having gleaned more about their family history, Dorothea ponders over the ethical correctness of Ladislaw’s reliance on Casaubon. She is a woman deeply ingrained in the conventions of her era, specifically primogeniture. Nevertheless, the Casaubon/Ladislaw situation lacks the clarity she desires, as both men are descendants of two sisters, neither of whom should have had sole claim to the family wealth. The narrative suggests that Ladislaw’s father was older than Casaubon, hence, he should have been the rightful heir as the firstborn male in the lineage. Dorothea, aware of Casaubon’s will favoring her, wishes to restore some justice for Ladislaw. One night, she voices her desire to Casaubon; she wants him to assign a living allowance to Ladislaw, owing to his moral and potential legal rights. She also proposes that Casaubon amend his will, reallocating a larger part of her inheritance upon Casaubon’s demise to Ladislaw.
Casaubon shrugs off her proposal and prohibits her from ever broaching the subject again. The chapter closes on an ominous note, with Casaubon resolved to thwart Ladislaw’s decision to stay in the area and accept the job, by any means necessary.
Context & notes
Chapter 36:

• The opening epigraph for chapter 36 is a quote from 'The Tragedy of Philotas' (1605)
• Santa Lucia was a third-century virgin martyr. She is the patron of people with eye diseases and is usually depicted holding two eyes in a dish.
• Valenciennes refers to a popular style of lacework, originating from Valenciennes itself, that was popular at the time.

Chapter 37:

• The epigraph for this chapter is a quote from Spenser's 'Amoretti' (1595).
• Charles James Fox - was a Whig statesman and reformer (1759-1806)
• "He shall be prettily pumped upon" is a phrase that refers to a punishment of being put under a working water pump and soaked.
• "A low set of dark-blue freemen" refers to the Whig) (Liberal) colors. The speakers are referring to the local men who have the 'freedom of the borough' and can vote in elections, presumably in favor of the Whigs.
• The Rights of Man is the title of a pro-French Revolutionary book, published in 1791-92 by Thomas Paine. This book advocated for male suffrage.
• William Huskisson was a (moderately) reformist Tory statesman (1770-1830)
• A pocket borough refers to a small constituency that is controlled by one family.
• "passionate prodigality" is a reference to Sir Thomas Browne's work 'Urn Burial'.
• Casaubon asks Dorothea to read him some "Lowth" - this potentially refers to the writings of Robert Lowth (1710 - 1787), a bishop and a Hebrew scholar.

Kodee is a non-binary person that I believe uses they/she pronouns. Kodee gained a small amount of notoriety years ago after James Charles, a beauty influencer, came out with an eyeshadow palette that caused Kodee to have an allergic reaction. They posted the allergic reaction to Twitter and warned other people that the palette wasn’t actually eye safe like it says it was.
Over the years since then, Kodee has become quite a controversial figure. Here are some of the reasons off of the top of my head why people dislike them;

• They are always looking for attention. They will butt into every drama, even if it has absolutely nothing to do with them, and try and make people focus on them.
  
• They defended Colleen Ballinger (if you need to know why she’s bad, check ColleenBallingerSnark and watch Adam Mcintyre’s videos about the situation on YouTube)
  
• harassed a minor victim of grooming (Adam Mcintyre) when he first came out about Colleen’s inappropriate behaviors. She was nearly 30 when she did this.
  
• Kodee is in multiple group chats with minor fans, where it’s been reported she has inappropriate conversations. She is 33.
  
• I just learnt this one, but she apparently wrote fanfiction in which she had real minors play a part in. Sending minors as young as 13 links to her NSFW fanfictions, asking them which person in the smut fics the child “was”
  
• created a video just a couple days ago going back on her stance on Colleen Ballinger and apologizing to Adam, a victim of Colleen; Kodee then took the video down after they received criticism from another YouTuber named Dustin Daily, who made a video about the Colleen situation and mentioned how hypocritical Kodee had been.
  
• Kodee then went on the notorious live stream where they “deplatformed” themselves. That live stream was a mess. Would apologize for the things they’d done, then walk back on the apology. In the live stream, Kodee had an attitude everyone that watched it could sense; they acted erratically at times, and even their own friend told them during the live stream that Kodee wasn’t doing themselves any favors and was making themselves look so much worse. They said they didn’t care, and continued. So much emotional manipulation occurred during the live stream, Kodee at one point even suggesting they may take their own life due to the backlash they were facing.
  
• Kodee said that an autistic man was “special needs” and that he shouldn’t be criticized for being a literal child groomer because of it. Continued to defend the man, saying things like “I still talk to him and know him”, again saying that having autism means you’re “special needs” and that she “will not speak out against someone who is special needs” (the man groomed children lmao)

Introduction

I wanted to collate some information about people still missing from programs. Obviously, there are a lot of runners from programs - some don't get out of the door before being caught, and some keep their freedom until they're 18 and can make themselves known again. That said, there are a lot of people who go beyond runners - who have been missing for years, their image frozen at thirteen, with no news and few theories. These people deserve recognition.
I struggled with how to define the TTI here - lots of people are missing from group homes, which aren't necessarily TTI but sometimes operate with similar modes of coercion, control, repression, and restricted access to rights such as food and sleep. I have tried to be careful and not assign someone TTI when they weren't part of it, but I may have some inclusions or exclusions which you disagree with.

1970's

February 3 1973 (?): Sentenced to Synanon by court order, Rose Lena Cole was sixteen when her last known contact occurred - a postscript to a letter written the previous year noting that she'd finally found a stamp. Rose wasn't actually at Synanon when she went missing, having run away and written to her family telling them she couldn't write again until she turned 18 lest Synanon find her, capture her, and force her back against her will. Rose has never been heard from since, and is still classed as a runaway.

1980's

August 31st 1981: Patricia Lynn Taylor was fifteen when she went missing. Born in California, she'd gone at some point to North Dakota to live with relatives. At some point afterwards, she was taken to Oklahoma and put into the care of Oklahoma's Department of Human Services. First placed in the Oklahoma Baptist Home for Children, she was moved to the Tulsa Girls Group Home in July 1981. She went missing on the 31st August that year, and was classified as a runaway. Patricia's family continue to look for her.
March 23rd 1984: William Charles Cordes was a "troubled youth" who had spent time in Juvenile Hall and Oak Ridge House group home before being sent to the Children's Home Society in Auburn, California as punishment for stealing beer. He and two other boys escaped the group home to go to a party, after which 15 year old William has never been seen again. Although he was initially reported as missing, the report was swiftly cancelled and no investigation was made into his disappearance until years later.

1990's

January 16th 1993: John Christopher Inman was a 17 year old student of CEDU Running Springs when he went missing on January 16th 1993. John wasn't the healthiest - he needed meds to prevent seizures, he had a shunt in his skull, crowns on his teeth, and he needed glasses - and didn't have his seizure medication on him when he seemingly ran away.
June 26 1994: A year and a half later, Blake Wade Pursley went missing from the very same CEDU campus. Blake wasn't too healthy either - he'd been in an accident as a toddler that left him with a paralysed vocal chord, a life-threatening internal fungus, poor motor skills, and seizures, and he too required daily medication for said seizures. Blake had only been at CEDU since June 1st, and the circumstances of his disappearance are unclear - the school and authorities believed he'd voluntarily run away, while his family believe he was lured away or abducted. There have been sightings of Blake, but he has not been confirmedly seen since June 26 1994, when he was 14 years old.

2000's

February 8 2004: Another decade on, and another young man disappeared from CEDU High School - 16 year old Daniel Ted Yuen. He was at CEDU for only ten days before running, having been initially sent there following the recommendation of a psychiatrist following a bout of depression. On The Lost Kids podcast, Daniel's parents have stated they believe he is still alive - indeed, there have been recent alleged sightings of Daniel with a woman and baby.
February 15 2004: Thirteen year old Justin Phillip Harris has few confirmed details about him online - everything seems to be contradictory. His father stated he had no disabilities, while the staff at the R.L. Mills Home stated he required constant supervision and was unable to function without psychiatric medication. The R.L. Mills Home, closed in 2011, was a home for adolescent boys with emotional and behavioural problems, and it's from there that Justin vanished. Seemingly, he packed his bed with clothes to make it look like he was asleep in it and then ran away during the night - that said, his father believes that Justin was a victim of a crime, and that the R.L. Mills Home had covered it up. Justin has never been found.

2010's

December 4 2010: Forest Ferguson had attended Diamond Ranch Academy before he ended up at Carlbrook School, a CEDU spinoff which closed in 2015 and is discussed in depth in Stolen: a Memoir by Elizabeth Gilpin. Forest left campus at 7.30PM with some additional clothing, and has not been seen since. Forest's loved ones run a website dedicated to finding Forest and bringing him home.
May 5 2013: William "Billy" Fred Patient III had some problems - he was diagnosed as bipolar, he had substance abuse issues, and was swamped by grief over the death of his father in 2012. Billy was enrolled at The Academy, a residential centre for 'troubled teens', to try and treat his substance abuse problems and depression. He and a group of nine other boys went on an outing to Juno Beach, Florida - Billy was last seen floating in the ocean, his clothes and wallet on the sands. Naturally, one may assume the worst - that Billy drowned, either by accident or intentionally - however his mother believes he was alive for at least several months after his disappearance due to activity on his Facebook page, including messages being read. Billy's parents ended up being refunded by The Academy, as they had failed to provide what they had promised them.
January 21 2019: A resident of Spruce Street Inn, a residential program for " “street youth”, chronic runaways, and commercially sexually exploited children", Kaitlynn Munson went missing on January 21 2019. Kaitlynn simply left, with a couple of sightings shortly after her disappearance but none in the years since. Both of Kaitlynn's parents are dead, and Kaitlynn has severe developmental disabilities. 14 at the time, Kaitlynn is now 18.
February 3 2019: The youngest on this list, Serenity Dennard was only nine years old when she ran away from Black Hills Children's Home in February 2019. Serenity's life had been filled with trauma - removal from her birth parents, over a dozen foster placements, and a diagnosis of Reactive Attachment Disorder. Her adoptive parents placed her in the private facility for a 14 month stay to work on her trauma, and Serenity had been at the home since July 2018. She had already run from the facility before, and so had been on run watch right up until February 3rd. Serenity's disappearance caused concern and outrage when it was revealed the facility took 41 minutes to call 911 following her disappearance, valuable time wasted.

Conclusion

There are many more than this. There are kids from group homes that seem to be TTI-inspired or to follow TTI protocols, but which I can't find definitive information about. There are kids who're written off as runaways and their information never makes it online. There are kids who no one knows about. Kids lost in the system. I can't name them all, but I offer my love and respect to those people. They deserved better.

The curator loved old things, not old evil. The two converged at Clayburn Offshore Treasury.
Museum jobs are hard to get, even with all the right degrees. Getting hired to run the Clayburn Offshore Treasury? That’s winning the museum employment lottery. It’s the Clayburn family’s very elite, very private museum. Anyone serious about preserving our past would be honored to be hired there.
I was over the moon. According to Clayburn – Mr Clayburn Jr, my new boss – I was the first new hire since he took over from his late father in 2006. Judging by his appearance, I guessed Clayburn was no more than 18 when his dad died. The previous curator died less than two weeks before I was hired. I’m ashamed to admit this but at the time, I blamed him for neglecting the building since Clayburn probably hadn’t learned much from his dad.
Clayburn had a few rules for me, not many. The big rule was, I had to summarize intentions and get his permission before going beyond the stuff on the list of daily routines left by the last curator.
My first priority was to modernize security. To me, that was more important than any daily routine. I felt it was critical, given the number of priceless artifacts and how simple it would have been for anyone to walk in and out with whatever they could carry. Plus, the Treasury is attached to what Clayburn calls “the main building”, a large brick house for him and the current museum curator.
The only other man-made objects on the small island were the boathouse and the massive shed for cut wood and three months of food and supplies for two, in case winter weather prevented the monthly deliveries by boat. There was nothing else on the island, I was sure of it. I’d walked every sandy inch of it to make sure I hadn’t missed a fence that needed mending or a sign or window that needed replacing. Once I got my thoughts in order, I texted my ‘outline of intent’ for security, stressing how this would help all buildings on the island. Clayburn approved it all. Cameras and locks took a couple of weeks to arrive, but installations all went smoothly.
The bigger challenge was environmental modification, to better preserve exhibits and the items held in storage. That upgrade was only for the Treasury proper. Of course, to provide proper environmental upgrades for the items, I needed a full list of everything in the Treasury’s care. Clayburn was quick to provide that to me after security was beefed up.
The list detailed the name of each item, current location, how and when it was obtained by the Treasury, and any special instructions. Several magnificent items stood out, a couple of which the outside world considered “lost to history”.
One of those caused me to gasp with joy: Aeyotin the Constant. The entry for him read:
On June 2, 1931, one Mr. Graviston Davis III entrusted Clayburn’s father, Jed Senior, with the legendary automaton Aeyotin the Constant. Mr. Clayburn Sr or his descendents or next of kin must be present before Aeyotin’s secure holding box is opened, and the box must never leave the Treasury property under any circumstances. Abandon rather than relocate.
Automatons aren’t widely known and that’s a shame. They’re like early androids, machines designed to look and act like humans. There are some like animals, of course, but the human ones interest me the most. The best are programmed to perform activities that appear to be random or in response to external stimuli rather than on a regular cycle.
I’d assisted with several vintage automatons before this job, and even got behind the scenes at the Smithsonian to see the Praying Monk up close. The Monk was wonderful, automatons in general are wonderful and I love them
I desperately wanted to examine Aeyotin. He’d been in the building for more than 90 years. Who knew what sort of deterioration had occurred since his arrival? I had to document his condition and take all necessary measures to restore him as far as possible.
I texted Clayburn to get permission to view Aeyotin.
Clayburn’s reply text was quick and unexpected. He told me to stand still until he was present and that he would be with me in less than 10 minutes.
Aeyotin was an automaton, not a mass murderer, and I was well trained in handling antiquities. Being asked to remain motionless seemed excessive, even insulting. Still, I’d just landed a great job and didn’t want to get fired so I stood there, motionless..
On arrival, Clayburn asked me to keep my phone handy and to stand at the doorway until he opened Aeyotin’s box.
“If anything goes wrong, call Ron Lundholm. If it goes really wrong, get the motorboat. Call Ron once you’re a mile out.”

The curator loved old things, not old evil. The two converged at Clayburn Offshore Treasury.
Museum jobs are hard to get, even with all the right degrees. Getting hired to run the Clayburn Offshore Treasury? That’s winning the museum employment lottery. It’s the Clayburn family’s very elite, very private museum. Anyone serious about preserving our past would be honored to be hired there.
I was over the moon. According to Clayburn – Mr Clayburn Jr, my new boss – I was the first new hire since he took over from his late father in 2006. Judging by his appearance, I guessed Clayburn was no more than 18 when his dad died. The previous curator died less than two weeks before I was hired. I’m ashamed to admit this but at the time, I blamed him for neglecting the building since Clayburn probably hadn’t learned much from his dad.
Clayburn had a few rules for me, not many. The big rule was, I had to summarize intentions and get his permission before going beyond the stuff on the list of daily routines left by the last curator.
My first priority was to modernize security. To me, that was more important than any daily routine. I felt it was critical, given the number of priceless artifacts and how simple it would have been for anyone to walk in and out with whatever they could carry. Plus, the Treasury is attached to what Clayburn calls “the main building”, a large brick house for him and the current museum curator.
The only other man-made objects on the small island were the boathouse and the massive shed for cut wood and three months of food and supplies for two, in case winter weather prevented the monthly deliveries by boat. There was nothing else on the island, I was sure of it. I’d walked every sandy inch of it to make sure I hadn’t missed a fence that needed mending or a sign or window that needed replacing. Once I got my thoughts in order, I texted my ‘outline of intent’ for security, stressing how this would help all buildings on the island. Clayburn approved it all. Cameras and locks took a couple of weeks to arrive, but installations all went smoothly.
The bigger challenge was environmental modification, to better preserve exhibits and the items held in storage. That upgrade was only for the Treasury proper. Of course, to provide proper environmental upgrades for the items, I needed a full list of everything in the Treasury’s care. Clayburn was quick to provide that to me after security was beefed up.
The list detailed the name of each item, current location, how and when it was obtained by the Treasury, and any special instructions. Several magnificent items stood out, a couple of which the outside world considered “lost to history”.

That was enough Aeyotin for one day. I took photos of the parchment and the other forms before folding the documents together and replacing them under Aeyotin’s head. As I laid his head back, one eye winked. It definitely winked this time, eyelid raised and lowered.
I have no memory of screaming.But someone in that room screamed.
The scream was loud enough to rouse Clayburn who rushed back from the main building. I was still bent over Aeyotin in his wooden container when Clayburn arrived.“Back up two steps,” he said. “Don’t stand up until then.” His tone was calm, too calm, as if he’d been through this before.
I did as directed.
Clayburn moved closer to the wooden container and stared at Aeyotin for a few seconds before speaking again. “What did he say?”
I shook my head slightly. “Nothing. But thanks for confirming Aeyotin can talk.”
Clayburn put the lid over Aeyotin but didn’t latch it. He turned, his face still flushed from running. His gaze went from me to Aeyotin and back to me. “Mostly gives orders.”
“Yeah,” I said, taking a half step back, “I read that.”
Clayburn took a step towards me. I should have taken another step back, or possibly left the room. Instead, every muscle in my body tensed as I stared at his face.
Until the time he left me alone with Aeyotin, Clayburn had looked every inch a man in his mid-thirties.
He looked twice that age.
“It’s been the experience of a lifetime working here, sir.” I extended my hand. Clayburn stared at it without moving a muscle. He was still for so long, I looked at my hand to see what was wrong.
It wasn’t just my hand. All of my visible skin looked like well aged wood. I tried to scream but my jaw creaked open very slightly then snapped shut. My right hand grabbed and squeezed my throat, not enough to choke me but enough to prove I was not in control.
With my hand still on my throat, I said, “This is mine, anytime I want it.” It wasn’t my voice. Then my hand released my throat and smacked the lid off Aeyotin’s container.
I wanted to cry, to scream, to go back a few weeks in time and not apply for this job but it was too late. Unsure how to proceed, I looked at Clayburn. His expression was one of sympathy and sadness, like he was at a friend’s funeral.
My heart froze.
This is what evil feels like, and I am it.
“We shall meet again,” Clayburn said, turning to bend again towards the wooden container. “Take the motorboat and call Ron when you reach shore. He’ll tow it back for me.”

Government is covering up UFO evidence, group says By Julia Duin THE WASHINGTON TIMES

 The U.S. government has been covering up evidence of extraterrestrial visits for more than 50 years, an array of 20 retired Air Force, Federal Aviation Administration and intelligence officers said Wednesday. They demanded Congress hold hearings on what they say is long-standing secret U.S. involvement with UFOs and extraterrestrials. Calling it the "greatest secret of the 20th century," the officials, who termed themselves "witnesses" of UFO-related events, described a series of military investigations they said they saw: crashes of alien spacecraft, bodies of alien beings, secret government documents, even James Bond-style "erasures" of people who knew too much. "The individuals who have these sightings range from airline pilots and military pilots to police officers, some of the people your lives depend on, on a daily basis," retired Air Force Lt. Col. Charles Brown told a roomful of skeptical reporters. "They are very reputable, dependable people," he said. "The field is filled with hoaxes and scams," said Dr. Steven Greer, director of the Disclosure Project, which had gathered the witnesses. "But it doesn´t mean all of it is." The 20 witnesses, he said, were a fraction of the 400 people who are willing to testify under oathand under congressional immunityabout a secretive portion of the government they say has gone out of control. UFOs have long fascinated Americans, including several U.S. presidents. Webster L. Hubbell, a former associate attorney general under President Clinton, has described in an autobiography his unsuccessful quest to determine government involvement in the topic. John Callahan, a former FAA division chief of accidents and investigations, said he was directed by CIA officers to cover up a Nov. 18, 1986, incident involving a UFO and a Japanese airliner near Anchorage, Alaska. "We were all sworn to secrecy that this event never happened," he said. Michael Smith, a former U.S. Air Force air traffic controller stationed near Klamath Falls, Ore., in the 1960s and early 1970s, reported seeing a UFO hovering at 80,000 feet one night. "I was told you keep it to yourself," he said. "NORAD [North American Aerospace Defense Command] called me one night to say there´s a UFO coming up the California coastline. I asked them what to do. They said nothing, not to write it down." After he was stationed at another military base in Michigan, UFOs were so close to one landing strip, he said, that two incoming B-52s had to be steered around them. The Disclosure Project, a Crozet, Va.-based research organization that has been gathering government witnesses for several years, says its reason for going public is because the U.S. government has long had information on anti-gravity propulsion systems. These have been retrieved from downed spacecraft, such as those from a purported crash in Roswell, N.M., in July 1947. These propulsion systems, which would use electromagnetic and "zero point energy state" technology to produce vast amounts of energy without any pollution, would drastically change the world´s oil-based economy. Such energy sources would not require damming the world´s rivers or building power plants, transmission lines or other expensive infrastructures needed to produce electricity for the world´s 6 billion inhabitants. Such electro-gravitic technology would also allow people to travel totally above the ground, rendering roads obsolete. Several witnesses talked of incredible speeds demonstrated by these crafts, estimated by radar technicians to be more than 10,000 miles an hour. The fastest known speed of a man-made aircraft is 3,000 miles an hour. But information on extraterrestrial speeds is never made public, said Daniel Sheehan, counsel for Project Disclosure. Even the Vatican Library, he said, has hidden information on UFOs. Donna Hare, a NASA design illustrator with secret clearance, said UFOs were routinely airbrushed out of high altitude photos of the Earth before being released to the public. "We always airbrush them out before we release them to the public," one technician told her. Curious, she began asking around the agency. "A guard told me he was asked to burn some photographs and not to look at them," she said. "And there was another guard guarding him, watching him burn the photographs. He looked at one and it was a picture of a UFO and he immediately was hit in the head and had a big gash in his forehead." Apollo astronauts, she said, had spotted UFOs, but they "are told to keep this quiet and not to talk about it," she said. One of them, Edgar Mitchell, who walked on the moon as part of the Apollo 14 team, is a witness for Project Disclosure. Karl Wolf, an Air Force sergeant who was assigned to the National Security Agency, said that mysterious structures were discovered on the far side of the moon when the United States was mapping its surface before the 1969 lunar landing. Those photos too were culled out of the public record. The Pentagon does not comment on UFOs, except to say they do not exist and that such objects really are high altitude balloons, swamp gas or military aircraft. Despite the government´s refusal to discuss the issue, several witnesses have also told of being stationed at military bases or near silos containing nuclear missiles when a UFO swung by. Afterward, military officers would discover the missiles had been temporarily deactivated.
