2023.05.30 01:14 catchyourselfon3636 Flooded Cellar Issues

Flooded Cellar Issues
Out of the gates, let's be clear that I've notified the homeowner I rent from via Certified Mail and we're hitting against the point where MV has recommended we take this to a court. That said this doesn't get rid of the issue in the meantime and as I leave for 1 month for our wedding and honeymoon it creates some really terrible issues.
We noticed a terrible sewage/mold/decomposition smell from out bathroom closet recently and thought it could have been a burst pipe from the recent plumbing service but could not find a drop of water anywhere I followed the pipes. Lo and behold, I found the cellar (typically locked on the house) and there was close to 1m of standing water. This is the fourth time this has happened in as many years and my only option is a submersible pump and pulling the water out. Drying the area naturally is impossible and the best i have is industrial fans.
On this recent round, I discovered that draining the rectangular hole in the video would drain the cellar itself (not pictured and to the left, has a ,5m hole in the floor which the landlord swears is not a well and should not be affected by groundwater). After draining, the drying began and the smell was gone within hours. I checked back 4 hours later to find the hole has filled again, and therefore the cellar itself and the smell begins again. I am going to build a small base which allows suspension of a submersible pump over the hole at a depth of 5cm, so should it increase, it will begin pumping automatically as the floater comes up.
My burgeoning question here is - why is this happening? Has anyone experienced this before? Is this a foundation issue with cracks in some sort of well system allowing ground water to leak in as it's displaced or is this a common occurence that would happen from a failed (standard) pumping system that has now failed and we're relying on manual?
Until we get the landlord to bring in someone to inspect (7 technicians have refused to service it as they say I am only the renter and not authorized to contract service so they need owner approval which he refuses to give via ignoring email, text, and certified mail) we are handling this manually and potentially damaging systems we know nothing about by dropping water levels or putting other stress on the foundation.
Are there any thoughts here about the issue or legal positioning that could compel a company to step in for emergency service irrespective of Owner authorization?
I have more photos/videos if needed!
Thanks :)

2023.05.30 01:12 Parqueteam_Hardwood Is It OK to Install Engineered Hardwood Flooring in Your Toronto Kitchen?

A small blog post that i added for my website. Feel free to enjoy it or make fun of it, up to you all!
For actual blog post location:

Is It OK to Install Engineered Hardwood Flooring in Your Toronto Kitchen?

Are you contemplating a kitchen remodel and wondering if engineered hardwood flooring is a viable choice? This is a question many homeowners in Toronto grapple with. While hardwood floors undeniably add a touch of warmth and sophistication, is it advisable to install them in a kitchen? Let's explore this.

The Allure of Engineered Hardwood Flooring

Engineered hardwood flooring has gained popularity for its durability and aesthetic appeal. Unlike solid hardwood, which is milled from a single piece of lumber, engineered hardwood is composed of several layers. The top layer is real hardwood, while the underlying layers are made of plywood or high-density fibreboard. This construction makes engineered hardwood less susceptible to changes in humidity and temperature, a crucial feature in a kitchen environment.
Advantages of engineered hardwood flooring in the kitchen include:
  1. Aesthetics: Engineered hardwood floors offer the same luxurious look and feel as solid hardwood floors. They add a warm, welcoming vibe to any kitchen, making it a cozy space for family gatherings.
  2. Comfort: Hardwood floors are generally more comfortable underfoot than tile. This can be a significant advantage for those who spend a lot of time standing in the kitchen.
  3. Durability: Thanks to its multi-layer construction, engineered hardwood is highly durable and withstands daily wear and tear remarkably well.

The Kitchen Environment: Challenges for Hardwood Flooring

Despite the advantages, there are several reasons to tread carefully when considering engineered hardwood flooring for your kitchen. The kitchen is a high-traffic area subject to spills, humidity fluctuations, and potential water damage. Here are the main challenges:
  1. Water Damage: The biggest concern with hardwood floors in the kitchen is water damage. Despite the improved resistance of engineered hardwood, prolonged exposure to water can still cause warping and discoloration. Accidental leaks from appliances or sinks, or even a large spill, could lead to significant damage.
  2. Maintenance: While engineered hardwood floors are durable, they require more maintenance compared to tile. Spills must be cleaned immediately to prevent staining or water damage. Regular sweeping or vacuuming is also necessary to prevent scratches from dirt and grit.
  3. Refinishing Limitations: Unlike solid hardwood floors, engineered hardwood can only be refinished a limited number of times, depending on the thickness of the top layer. This could be a disadvantage in a high-traffic area like a kitchen, where the floor surface is more prone to damage over time.

A Case for Tile Flooring in the Kitchen

Given the potential challenges with hardwood flooring in the kitchen, you might wonder if there's a more resilient option. This is where tile flooring shines. Tile is extremely durable, water-resistant, and easy to clean, making it an excellent choice for kitchens. It can withstand spills, stains, high foot traffic, and even hot pans, without sustaining damage. While at Parqueteam Hardwood Flooring, we pride ourselves on our engineered hardwood flooring offerings in Toronto, we believe in providing our customers with the best advice for their specific needs. Given the potential for water damage and the higher maintenance needs, we typically recommend considering tile for kitchen flooring. Nonetheless, if your heart is set on the warmth and beauty of engineered hardwood, it can indeed be a suitable choice, given proper care and maintenance. In conclusion, while it's entirely possible to install engineered hardwood flooring in your kitchen, it's essential to be aware of the potential challenges. If you're ready to embrace the maintenance and care hardwood requires, it can certainly add a touch of elegance to your kitchen. But for practicality and durability, tile flooring might be the more sensible choice.

2023.05.30 01:08 Choice_Equipment788 Why is water bubbling up in my backyard?

Background information: -Rural area. Gravel road. -Private well. -not in line with well and house. It’s probably 40’ back from where the well water pipe connects to the house. -at least 200’ from where septic system/field is.
We’ve had a decent amount of rain in the past few days (~3 days straight of rain, but no downpour. Probably 2” at most)
Feeling it, it’s coming from ~4” black corrugated pipe which looks like it was buried with sand and gravel.
Where the water is coming out is probably 1-3’ lower in elevation than the front yard (at least).
It feels like a drainage pipe. But I had no idea there was any drainage system buried on the property.
We haven’t lost any water pressure to the house or hose spigots.
I do have a very minor leak to my pressure tank, but that’s no more than a tablespoon of water an hour. Crawlspace is encapsulated so looks dry under there.
I don’t know of any pipes that run that way, so I have no idea where the water is coming from unless there’s a large drainage system in the front or by/under the gravel road that I wasn’t aware of.
I only noticed it because my 3 ducks were over by the water nodding/bouncing their heads approvingly at it.
Anybody have any ideas what this is? Should I be terrified and panic call a well/drainage specialist?

2023.05.30 01:07 CMDR_NUBASAURUS FA24 or FB25, are they becoming more reliable?

Hello,
I am looking for a new (2023/24) Subaru. (I can wait for the '24s). I've owned an outback and a forester in the past. The forester was a 2016 and had 0 issues, but it was a lease. I didn't notice any oil consumption.
The outback was like a 2002 and had head gasket/oil leak problems. Because of that I'm a little hesitant.
I do hear that the latest generations FB's are more reliable. They used to leak a little oil around the seals (they aren't using gaskets), but they don't have head gasket or consumption problems. Were the oil leaks around the seals fixed in the later years?
I also heard the FA24 might be more reliable but are relatively new so there's not a lot of history? Were they derived from the existing FA engines?
Does the outback wilderness contain the FA24? I think the onyx does.
If the FA24 is more reliable, I might go Outback Wilderness.
If the FB25 is more reliable, I might go Forester Wilderness or Crosstrek Wilderness.
Anyway, I plan on buying not leasing this time. This is because I want to mess around with the Wilderness trim a bit and keep it as my camping/hiking buddy.

2023.05.30 01:05 Lovegasoline Aquarium Failure! Guidance for Quick Repair?

I could use some good advice on how to attempt a repair ASAP on a glass aquarium.
It's a 37 gallon rectangular tank, approximate dimensions 30" wide, 22.5" tall, 12-1/4" deep (it's a taller format not a breeder type tank). It's freshwater and home of a single Red Ear Slider turtle around 18 years old.
Today my water leak alarm went off and water was slowly leaking from one of the vertical glass joints that connects the aquarium's front and side glass panels. I wanted to get some coffee in me before dealing with it so put towels down ... but in a few minutes water started shooting out horizontally in a thin streaming arc (gah!) When I applied slight figure pressure to the glass at the joint I could see the siliconed joint open/close ever so slightly. I emptied the tank and am now figuring out how to proceed. I was thinking I could re-silicone (fast cure?) the joints. Before I get to that or other options, a little more about the tank's condition.
I've had the tank for 11 years but acquired it used: not sure of it's true age (my turtle broke the glass of my previous tank and this was a Craigslist replacement). It's possibly and All-Glass(?) with the black plastic band at the top and bottom. It's condition when I got it was OK but there were a few defects including a couple chips on both front vertical corners but they weren't through the whole thickness of the glass. It was also missing the molded plastic cross brace on top (which spans the the front/back of the tank to keep the glass from bowing) as someone had cut it off. The latter has always concerned as I thought its might stress the tank as I keep the tank filled to the very top. As a dual-purpose addition, I made a glass ramp cut from the glass of my old aquarium for the turtle to use to climb to his above tank basking area: it spans the tank's width, silenced to the front and back glass panels ... however the silicone failed on that a couple times over the years (from building pressure?) and the last time I didn't replace it and made another ramp solution.
Can this tank be repaired without completely disassembling it? Can I use a razor blade to remove the silicone from the inside corners of the four sides, and also where the sides meet the bottom, clean it very good, and re-apply silicone (preferably some fast cure product??). Or do all the glass panels need to be removed from the plastic bands before cleaning/re-siliconing ... an impossible task as I know it's futile to try to disassemble the tank.
Thanks a bunch for any suggestions.

2023.05.30 00:59 EnvironmentalClue362 Couple Questions

Couple Questions
So I finally had a chance to pull my cactus from hibernation (had them in hibernation for longer than I expected / wanted). Hopefully I didn’t fuck them up too much. I’ve grown these for the last two seasons I believe but was gifted the cuttings.
1) When pulling out of hibernation, I know about reacclimatizing them to the Sun which I’ll keep them by the window for about two weeks before placing outside. When should I feed them? Just water? I usually feed them Jack’s Blossom Booster. I also have some gypsum.
2) I took a few pictures of this weird growth I just found when I pulled them from the closet where they were stored. What is this? Anything I should do I.e remove it? Treat it?
3) I just learned that the main factor that determines hibernation is temperature. I thought / believed it was sunlight. I kept it in a dark spare closet that’s not used. I closed the air duct so temperatures wouldn’t fluctuate too much. I also plugged the bottom of the door to avoid any light from leaking in. Is this a good way to store cactus over the winter? Could this have been the reason to cause that growth on the one?
4) Final Question 😅 .. The one cactus is getting VERY tall. I’m looking at moving in a few months and am worried about it breaking during the actual move. What are my options at this point?
Thank you very much for any and all information. The first season was a learning curve but I did well I believe. The second season was awesome. They grew a lot and looked happy. This year we had some family stuff happen and my mind was elsewhere. I just hope that I can have them back to normal without skipping a beat. I’m still VERY new to this so any and all tips and recommendations are welcomed.
(The etiolation happens during the first season. I got them as a cutting and planted them. I unfortunately kept them inside too long. I plan on making the cuts where it actually gets skinnier so then they look much better and I expand my garden.)

2023.05.30 00:58 JustTryin2Surv5 Failing at DIY replacing my tub spout, help!

So I'm a first time home buyer and my home looks like it has had the bathrooms remodeled fairly recently which is great...except the tub spout for my shower leaks water when the diverter is engaged. Tired of watching water flow down my drain and trying to take the world's shortest showers to combat it I figured I'd change it out myself...how hard could it be?
YouTube has many tutorials on how to successfully do this, and they seem simple and straightforward enough, so I was confident I could get this done no problem.
I am wrong. Getting the orriginal spout off is waaaay harder than they show you in the videos...and I'm encountering the strangest problem...when I finally got it to budge and twist a quarter twist counter clockwise...it started getting CLOSER to the wall instead of further from it. Is this normal? I'm afraid to force it any further because it's flush to the wall now (it started off with a little gap) and is starting to dig into the tile. Can someone please advise me what to do now?
I currently have a leaky spout that now shoots water sideways 😅

2023.05.30 00:58 gto_granturismo_girl 2013 Maserati GranTurismo Sport - Misfiring Diagnosis Help

This will be a long detailed post, so I hope this is ok and someone has patience with me!
2013 Maserati GranTurismo Sport - 41,623 miles , 4.7L v8 , ZF 6 Spd auto trans. 2 owner car prior, appears clean, was not tracked, or rented out, no flood damages etc. I got it last year and it had not had any issues until the alternator recently and now misfire. Always use best gasoline at stations. Gas was put in February so it is not year old gas ....also the 2013 model should not have the old cam variator design ..that should not go bad on this one.....
Misfire started on Mother's Day...
Important Back Info: Battery light came on in late February - alternator was undercharging - tested voltage output- my retired mechanical engineer father and I fixed it.....whole intake and fuel comes off .... ..brand new OEM part....brand new intake manifold gaskets all 8 done.....new air filter.......we took pictures, we made diagrams, every bolt was back in place, car was actually missing bolts (so we replaced them). I had guidance from a Maserati tech on removing systems etc.....correct torque amts...
Once finished, car started up, no more battery light, alternator output was normal and good again with the new alternator. Car was running fine on idle for some minutes. We had this alternator fixed a few days before Mothers day. Car was on CTEK battery charger while I ordered the parts etc
Issue: 3 days later I drive it on Mother's Day.... 5.2 miles to my mom's house. Seemed ok. Then I tried to leave hours later.....car starts, about 20-30 seconds in it starts sounding BAD, like a cam lope but terrible, car starts shaking like a 9.0 earthquake is happening, and flashing CEL lights. Move it in my parents garage where it has been for weeks. OBDII was giving 4 misfires and general misfire , occurring both sides of engine bank.. Misfire Cylinder 1, 5, 8, 7 plus generic misfire code
We looked at the plugs....they looked not great. I was not convinced that was the issue however. Ordered new NGK plugs, they are all in. Did not fix the issue, but needed to be done on this car, so no regrets. After plugs, erased codes, new codes read Misfire cylinder 1,5, 8 plus generic misfire code
All the codes have said along with misfire on cylinders "OVER MAXIMUM THRESHOLD"
Switched coils 8 and 7 , then the next code reading only had Misfire Cylinder 5 and generic misfire.....Odd.... switched coil 8 (in 7) into 5, and 5 into 7.......code read as generic misfire, cyl 5 misfire, , cyl 1 misfire
Disconnected MAF sensor, car did not like that, check transmission light , check suspension light, traction control light stuck on. Guessing electrical gremlin from doing that. the MAF seems clean. anyways. Idle was still BAD with it disconnected..

Basically: Car when completely totally totally cold starts up okay, system check runs ok, as in check engine light comes on and goes out at 15-20 seconds into start up (normal for this car).......about 30-40 seconds into the start up (when very cold ....) idle goes BAD , choppy, smells, car rocking/shaking, and CEL light flashing will come on.

Is this a sensor issue ? O2/lamda ?? VVT ? solenoid?
Can a vacuum leak seriously act this way despite the car being fine on the drive over to my moms? If we had the intake on wrong surely it would have been bad then?????
I would like to narrow down what it could be before towing it in to a shop if it is something I cannot diagnose or fix in my garage - which is likely - I still would like some idea of what it might be
Please no comments about me being stupid and buying a Maserati or how I should have no problems throwing $20,000 at it because I bought what I bought etc. That is not really helpful after all.
I would really appreciate any thoughts into what can be done at home to narrow down the possibilities or any thoughts at all about what could be happening so I can have productive conversations with mechanics about this. No need to go into a ton of detail....just in your experience, is anything ringing bells about a cold start being smooth and then transitions into horrible misfiring ? The car is running very badly .. I know you cannot diagnose it for sure, I am just interested in opinions if you have the time to read this and give a few thoughts.

Thanks.

2023.05.30 00:57 atmadams Sprinkler Box Settled

Sprinkler Box Settled
Moved into a new house in late 2021. We started having soil settling issues in few areas last summer due during some heavy rainfall. The soils seem to have stabilized at this point.
Unfortunately the sprinkler box settled quite a bit and pulled the external pipes off the side of the house. It’s still functional and doesn’t leak (checked the meter). However it looks like the stub coming out of the house got bent. Is there any concern or anything you all would recommend? The sprinkler company is coming soon to repair but I wanted to make sure the interior portions were good. Thanks.

*motivated seller* E450 Shuttle bus for sale
Had this bus with my ex and now it just holds a lot of hard memories so it’s time to let go- let my loss be your gain- selling for $8000 got the bus for $12000 (yes I am low balling myself- all I want to do is get rid of it- this is the last thing tying me to the relationship) It’s a 33 x 10.3 x 8.5 It is nearly fully converted.. we put a lot of money into it but I know it’s going to be a fixer upper so priced accordingly Solar power (renology system), 4000 watt inverter working plumbing and shower (heated shower) shower goes to ground but can be redirected to a tank, 40 gallon water tank tank, Mini fridge, sofa, king sized bed, natures head composting toilet, back up camera, live edge wood counter top, insulated floor to ceiling. 38000 miles, the bus been started and ran at least once a week- bought from a church, used for church trips. Issues: needs a new windshield, the air compressor on the door has a leak, needs new tires, bathroom needs to be finished and steps leading into bus. I promise you will not be able to find a bus this inexpensive for all the work that has been done and the small amount of miles on a well maintained engine-I just want to put this bus and relationship behind me- if you want to start a schoolie build this bus has good bone and a great engine and has served me very well. It has driven from NC to AZ to SLC with zero problems. If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to shoot me a message.

Hi... Does anyone know how can a I fix a leaky piston? It leaks where the cilinder joins the piston. It's not much but I can't really bleed the system because of that.
It's a cheap generic lever that doesn't seem to be able to be taken apart Thanks in advance.

Had my TT/M360 lipo 5/25
I had my surgery 5/25. That night I had to stay at a hotel with my sister and it was way worse than I thought it would be. I leaked so much from my lipo sites. I also had this weird feeling like I had to pee every 2 seconds but I couldn’t empty my bladder. Pain was pretty bad that day and the next day. It has gotten better since. Yesterday was my day to start showering and trying to stand up straight. It was all surprisingly less hard than I thought it would be. I am pretty much down to just ibuprofen and Tylenol now. I’ve been walking a lot. Barely anything out of my drains now and I go to doctor tomorrow so I think I will for sure get them out. This has for sure not been a cake walk but I am happy I did it so far.

2023.05.30 00:41 RiotMMO Riot Games' Project F - An Upcoming ARPG In Depth Introduction

Project F Early Development Gameplay
Source: TheRiotMMO
Project F is a research in-development game that will be produced by Riot Games, Inc. The upcoming ARPG is expected to be a PvE action RPG. In other words, a player vs environment action roleplaying game. It appears to be a cooperative action game based in Runeterra, where players can team up against monsters using champions from League of Legends. Project F is isometric, stylized and casual. It seems Project F has been in development for some time. If you’re looking forward to playing it soon and learning more, then read on.

Riot Project F Announced

Interestingly, Project F was never officially announced. We had our first glimpse of Project F during League of Legends’ 10-Year Anniversary Celebration live stream.
10-Year Anniversary Celebration Riot Pls: 10th Anniversary Edition - League of Legends
Beginning at the 32-minute 38-second mark there were a few sequences of Project F gameplay. Granted, it was early development footage of Riot’s Project F. It is important to note, Riot Games intentionally previewed Project F. Project F was not a leak. In fact, Project F has been under wraps for the most part since that very day.

What is Riot Project F?

Project F is an upcoming ARPG set in the world of League of Legends. Actually, set in Runeterra to be more precise. It is a cooperative action game where players control the champions from League of Legends. You will traverse through Runeterra and defeat enemies along your way. Players will get to use iconic and familiar champion abilities that have been established through League of Legends gameplay as well as new abilities too.

Project F Landscape

There will be varying levels of inclination throughout your adventures. Given Project F is an isometric game, the sense of height and depth will be an important design element if Riot wants to make this game a successful as possible. So, throughout your adventures you will have to descend higher terrain on occasion.
You can expect to see familiar landscapes that share a similar art style as League of Legends’. As with many isometric games, such as Lost Ark, Diablo, Path of Exile, etc., the background will contain interesting landscapes while the foreground will feature rich and detailed visuals.
Overall, it appears the art design will showoff bright and beautiful colors. Expect to see the following decorative elements; colorful trees, plants, flowers, roots, large stones plus a variety of terrains. While we aren’t sure yet, it appears players cannot fall off the map.
One feature we find to be a nice touch is the dust from the ground that rises as players jump from heights.

Project F Game FeaturesPing System

It looks as though Project F might feature a ping system. Presumably players can ping locations on the field. Once a location is pinged, a red floating inverted cone will remain at the desired location for a time. Coordinated players can use pings to set focus areas, destinations, and other communicative commands. It could also be that Blitzcrank’s melee abilities inadvertently marks the ground for some unknown reason. Again, we saw early development footage. We expect most of the features to not be fully implemented.

Jumping Over Ledges

Another feature that Project F appears to include is jumping over ledges when traversing through corners of map without terrain. For example, when Ezreal walks forward, there is no terrain under him just a few steps ahead. Just before the ledge, Ezreal leaps over the cliff edge and lands on the other side. It’s unclear whether this will be a player command or our characters will jump over edges by themselves.

Cast Indicators

Taliyah
Project F takes a feature from it’s inspiration League of Legends. Ranged characters will have casting with indicators. It’s not known if the indicators can be turned off or not. Casting indicators are a useful feature. The indicator serves as a projection guide. Players can line up the indicator with their target for improved accuracy.

Friendly Fire

Friendly fire was a feature in the early development build. When a player is in a casting state, it means they are about to use an ability. At this point a cast indicator is visible. Likely only visible to the player casting, if it’s anything like the League of Legends feature. Now, when the player’s indicator intersects with a cooperative teammate, the color of the indicator turns red.
While the friendly fire colored cast indicator is insightful, it brings up more questions than answers. First, maybe it’s possible there are various difficulties in which you can damage your teammates. Second, allies could very well block teammates skill shots, hence the red indicator. Another possibility is while hovered over an ally, you cannot cast your skill shot. All of this is speculative of course. We will provide updates as they come.

Equal Base Movement Speed

From looking at the Project F short clip, we can see each player has the same base move speed. Keep in mind, equal base movement speed may not be the case at launch. Furthermore, it’s possible gear can be equipped and stats or talents can be acquired that affect the champions movement speed. Nonetheless, an equal base movement speed does reinforce the casual nature of Project F.

Project F Early Development Gameplay

Possible Game Features

Boss Fights

We may see boss fights. In the image below, a Project F developer is seen with a reference image on his second monitor. Part of the image showed Wild Rift assets of Varus and Ashe fighting a massive image of the League of Legends item Static Shiv.

Boss Mechanics – Slow Effect

In that same screenshot, the giant Static Shiv appear to emanate a yellow aura outwards up to under the attacking champions’ feet. The yellow aura looks incredibly similar to the slow effect from League of Legends.

Vayne

Checkpoints

On the same map where we have Blitzcrank, Lux, and Ezreal fighting, all three champions can be seen fooling around a campfire. There are no enemies present. Furthermore, they appear to be at a dead end with only one direction to go….into the forest. In the meantime, the players are running around and using abilities around this empty campfire area. Perhaps this starting area can serve as a communication hub amongst teammates before they begin their quest or journey. Alternatively, these checkpoints could be scattered throughout zones in order to let players rest, change armor, tools, loadouts, or reestablish their strategy.

Champions in Riot’s Project F

We know of at least three playable champions in Project F. The following champions include, Blitzcrank, Lux, and Ezreal. Below includes a brief overview of the mentioned champions for those unfamiliar with the League of Legends champion roster.
--

Blitzcrank

Blitzcrank is a support-style tank. In the world of Runeterra, he a a mechanical golem dedicated to protecting Zaun from harm and supporting its citizens.
In League of Legends, he uses powerful lightning infused mechanical forces to subdue, retract, and stun foes for his allies. Meanwhile, he soaks up and blocks damage effectively for his teammates.

Lux

Lux is a support-style mage. In Runeterra, Lux is an aristocrat from Demacia with the ability to manipulate light. Unfortunately, Demacia prejudice against mages.
While playing League of Legends, Lux possessing offensive and defensive magical abilities that can stun and damage enemies and shield allies.

Ezreal

Ezreal ranged damage dealer. According to the lore, Ezreal was born by wealthy Piltovan archeologists. Ezreal now explores foreign lands and uses his powerful yet mysterious Shuriman gauntlet to defeat his adversaries.
Gameplay wise, Ezreal is a ranged short-ranged damage with good mobility including short teleports.
--

Project F Champion Abilities

In the snippet, we saw several champion abilities adapted from League of Legends. At the same time, there were a number of innovative abilities that fit with the theme of the respective champions. It’s worth mentioning the champion auto attacks have a low cooldown.

Blitzcrank

  1. Blitzcrank uses both fists to attack foes directly in front of him
  2. Blitzcrank begins with a wide left hook and then a wide right hook to damage enemies directly in front of him.

Possible Champions in Riot Project F

During the League of Legends 10-Year Anniversary stream, a developer had a reference page on his second monitor. It appeared to be two League of Legends champions outside of the traditional League game environment. In fact, is looked like a rudimentary Project F environment based on the ground particles seen in the anniversary video. Although, the screenshot of Varus and Ashe were assets from Wild Rift along with Wild Rift user interface. In the frame, you could see Varus and Ashe attacking a large massive image of the League item Static Shiv. Presumably the image of static shiv was a placeholder image for a boss.
Moreover, there was a clip in the video where Lulu was being designed for Project F in Unreal Engine. This Lulu was distinguished from the Lulu in League of Legends. Therefore, it’s safe to conclude, Lulu was at the least being designed in the early development stage.
Therefore, it is possible Varus and Ashe could be in Project F.

Possible Champion: Lulu

In-development Lulu
Lulu is a yordle from Bandle City. Specifically she is fae sorceress. While wandering in Runeterra she befriended a fairy named Pix. We she delighter to find many of her newfound abilities remained while back in Bandle City.
During gameplay, Lulu is a ranged support champion. He has a lot of crowd control and can provide her allies with buffs such as shields, increased health and movement speed.

Possible Champion: Ashe

Ashe is an Iceborn Warmother. She is from an inhospitable norther region called the Freljord. She leads the Avarosans, which is one of the three major tribes of the Freljord.
In League of Legends, is a ranged damage dealer, known as an ADC (attack damage carry). Ashe also features support features in her kit, such as slows, and revealing fog of war for the team.

Possible Champion: Varus

Varus used to be a magically ascended hunter from Shurima ages ago. After the loss of their king, his kind had succumb to insanity and blood magic, becoming Darkin and wreaking havoc on Runeterra. The Darkin were imprisoned in their weapons by the Aspects. Accordingly, Varus in his bow. Two Ionian men relinquished Varus. Now Varus consists of a Darkin and two men who resist his every more.
Varus is an ADC, with a mix of attack and magical damage.

Classes in Project F

Several League of Legends champions will be designed in Project F. We also know Project F is an action roleplaying game with a cooperative option. With the brief gameplay in mind, each champion will be unique. As a result, Project F could implement at the very least a basic class system. This is an role-playing game after all.
For example, Blitzcrank make possess tankier stats such as increased health, resistances, and mitigative abilities.
Next, there could be support classes and mage support classes. If League of Legends is to be reimagined, Lux would fall into the mage-support class type. Also, Lulu would belong to the support-mage class type.
Another class would be ranged damage dealers. Naturally, Ezreal and Varus would belong to this category.
We’ve yet to see a brawler, or physical fighting class type. Would would an Action RPG be without one. It would be interesting to see champions such as Darius, Garen, Tryndamere, Olaf and others of the like fit this role.
It’s possible Assassins could be a class in Project F. We have a ton of them in League already. Assassins champions that come to mind include, Nocturne, Evelyn, Talon, and Fizz.

Who is Working on Project F?

We currently know of one Riot employees working on Project F.

Kate Chironis

We believe Kate Chironis is the design director for Riot Games’ Project F, the upcoming ARPG. If so, then she started the early development of Project F when there were only three designers. Here’s what Kate had to say.
I helped bootstrap a new game as one of three early designers on the project. I focused on core game loop, player systems, the fundamental building blocks of enemies/encounters/AI, and helping establish the initial vision for several different types of content in the game. I prototyped heavily during this time period to “find the fun” in UE4/Blueprint.Kate - LinkedIn
It’s likely the quote from Kate refers to Project F because in the League Anniversary from October 2019, we can see Kate working on Project F.

Riot Project F Release Date

We’re not sure when Riot Project F will release. Even Kate Chironis, a likely Project F employee said she’s unsure of the release date.

https://preview.redd.it/pxtelmtl3w2b1.jpg?width=534&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a8055a3c3d8b2262877adeaee9df9abc87f1b8b5
I am optimistic that players will get to see it, but I don’t know when.
Kate Chironis – Twitter

Nonetheless, we can speculate the game have a trailer, gameplay or other public media in late 2024. Remember, Project F likely began around pre-development in May 2022. This is based on Kate’s start date at Riot Games from her LinkedIn experience. In the experience description she describes work that lines up with Project F. Furthermore, 17 months later, Riot showed an early development of Project F where Kate was actively iterating.

Summary

Let’s summarize what we know about Riot Project F, the in-development ARPG. Project F appears to be non-canon. We saw three unrelated champions fighting alongside each other. Specifically, Ezreal, Blitzcrank, and Lux generally do not interact in canon lore. Ezreal is from Piltover, explores Shurima. Lux is from Demacia, and Blitzcrank is bound to Zaun as far as we know. To have all three of them fighting alongside a common enemy defies canon lore.
Also, Project F looks to be a casual friendly game. We believe it would make a great party/couch game. It wouldn’t be a surprise if this game became available for PlayStation, Xbox, Switch, and PC. Project F does not appear to be graphically intensive. It comes off as a nice coop couch game you’d play on the weekends with friends.
Project F will be created in Unreal Engine. We’re unsure whether it’s Unreal Engine 5 or 4. We can expect to play as several champions such as, Blitzcrank, Lux, Ezreal, Lulu and likely more.
Stay tuned for more updates on Riot’s upcoming Project F.

2023.05.30 00:35 AltroTheAvali Memory Leak Issues

So I have an Oculus Quest 2 (got it maybe a couple months after it first came out) and recently it’s been having symptoms of a memory leak. The memory simply will not clear no matter what. I play vrchat a lot and I started by completely restarting that, then I manually cleared the content cashe. neither worked so I started restarting my headset entirely and even then, my headset didn’t clear it. As a last ditch effort, I FACTORY RESET my headset, and nothing. It’s still only getting worse and it just completely froze my headset. I have no other solution. does anyone else out there have a solution?
