What exactly is a fun card? It may feel like a simple question, but it's really hard to put into words.
A definition I like is that a fun card is a card that creates a positive story.
This usually has some sort of randomness to it, but not chaotic of overbearing.
For example, I consider [[Nascent Metamorph]] to be a fun card. Sometimes you hit Old Gnawbone and sometimes you hit Birds of Paradise but the 'story' it tells is a fun one. Especially when you get the big hit, like you're gonna want to tell your friend about it.
[[Chaos Wand]] and [[Wand of Wonder]] are another top-of-library randomness cards that tell a story. Let's say you really need a kill spell, so you target the mono-B player, but instead of a kill spell you get one of their tutors. Or maybe you whiff and get dark ritual. The randomness makes it interesting, and when it hits, it's fun.
Another random but not overbearing card that I consider fun is [[Boompile]] . It's more fun and interesting than any other wipe imo. It can stick around, which is neat, as that forces people to play around it. Eventually you'll want to pop it off, and there's usually some excitement on whether or not it works b/c that obviously affects your gameplan.
Moving away from randomness, political cards can be fun. It's a tricky balance though, I tend to prefer the cards that have a one line story. For example, [[Orzhov Advokist]] is simple trade deal: you get counters, but you can't attack me. [[Duelist's Heritage]] is "if you don't attack me, you get a double strike." The 'story' here is more consistent, but that doesn't make it less fun. There's joy in giving an opponents big creature doubles trike
I also like cards that speed up the game. I'm not sure if they fit under the storytelling definition of 'fun' but I'm pretty happy to see [[Overabundance]] , [[Descent into Avernus]] , and [[Collective Voyage]]
Finally there's [[Permeating Mass]] , which is fun b/c it sticks around and goes around the board. More interesting than any deathtouchy rattlesnake

So growing up, when my family would play games, we had a phrase for when you made a move, there was no takebacks. So kind of like if you remove your hand from a piece in chess or you play a card, and you regret it, but it’s out there and there’s nothing you can do about it. If someone tried to take their card back, you’d say” board’ a play.” No idea how you’d write it out. But anyway, we’ve asked people outside the family for years and no one else has ever heard that phrase. Is that a thing? Or did my grandma just make it up?

I got ExoBase from The Game Crafter a few weeks ago and am really, really enjoying it. Awesome quick and thinky worker placement resource management game. The variety among the "founders" and location placement does lend itself really well to multiple plays.
My only thing is I've played about ten times...and have only lost twice. I always seem to find a way to finagle a win in the final round, even if I'm looking dead in the water. Maybe that's a sign of great strategy on my part, or exceptional design because it gives you that final piece of excitement...but it seems a little too easy. Even the mechanic of damage to locations, a big emphasis in the rules and on some character abilities, have been a nonfactor in many of my games.
Does anyone else here find the game on the easier side? I do think it's great, but if I'm winning 70/80% of the time without a ton of effort, kind of loses its potential longevity for me.

I've seen the Railgunner subclass on Unearthed Arcana, however my DM does not allow UA material in his games. My goal isn't to just cheese rules (e.g. peasant railgun or glyph of warding in a metal pipe) nor do I want to just use a spell; if I wanted to do an outlandish amount of damage then I wouldn't be asking here. I genuinely want to create a character, Artificer or otherwise, who can just use a musket or arcane firearm to the effect of a railgun or gauss cannon. My initial idea was to either use Sorcerer and make my pact weapon a musket or to simply use the Artificer's force cannon. Heavy crossbow and force ballista have a baby? My DM sadly does not do the rule of cool, but I feel like with some splitclass action or magic items if necessary it's possible to pull off.

I'm thinking about going and checking out my local chess club in Spokane Washington but I'm a little worried that I'm not a strong enough player yet. I don't mind losing, it just sounds fun to play some over the board games with real people but I don't want to annoy the other players. Is a player with a 480 rating on Chess.com
decent enough to start attending chess clubs or should I wait until I'm a stronger player? I don't want to be the annoying guy who's wasting everyone's time lol. Also if I do attend is it bad ettiequte to ask stronger players for tips on how to improve my game?

A while ago I played a rank match , so I do the usual the show who I'm gonna use (floryn) and set my lane to roam, the S4 picked khufra and set his lane to roam so I switched to mid lane then he suggested I use zhask I tried to ignore it but I picked zhask anyways because if I didn't do that khufra would've thrown the match.
Well it doesn't matter if I picked zhask or floryn because khufra blew it big time because he wasn't even paying attention to his mm.
The golden rule in roaming is NEVER LEAVE YOUR MM ALONE IN EARLY SPECIFICALLY IF IT'S A LATE GAME MM LIKE LAYLA OR MIYA.
Well usually this isn't the case because I do midlane floryn that makes her pretty much dangerous because one her skills cooldown is pretty short to the point you can play her as a bruiser mage, two her ult that makes sure if you're tank roamer that's setting gank at the wrong time and getting ganked themselves you can press her global heal and give the tank time to dip.
Also what's with players saying floryn should build tank? She's better off building mage because she plays like a back lane mage when played as a roamer.
But still are their mythic players who are like this or is my experience not that frequent.

Everyone here have seen this picture, right?
I bet you guys don't think that Traveler is the only one who can go underwater, or we can only go underwater with a vehicle anymore, right? Hoyoverse still respond to the community though, namely the Chinese one. The Chinese guys are so stubborn so the only way to motivate them is by pictures.
And obviously, it had a big hit in every country. The Chinese are sarcastic that it's Photoshop, the Japanese are really exited, the English speakers in Asia are laughing about the shark or having thallasphobia flashbacks, the Russians are talking about mints being underwater, and the south-east Asia is…
After the flood of this meme and the subnautica ones, the entire community is way less sarcastic about underwater mechanisms in Genshin and began to accept the coming of the new mechanics.
Back when I shared the underwater combat mechanism article in Reddit before the 3.7 livestream teaser 90% of the comments are talking that it's going to be vehicle-only, which I find understandable but absurd. Do you still think that underwater is for traveler-only now?
The motive behind this meme, or fan-made concept art of underwater combat by me, isn't that simple. I have to have some faith in Genshin implementing underwater combat with normal functioning characters first. But why I didn't deny the possibility of Genshin getting full-on underwater combat with alternate animations and proper physics in the first place, even before Sorush comes and being denied by Beisht 1 year ago?
So why did I assume that there's a 50/50 chance that this picture would become true despite all of this?
First of all, player trust. If Hoyo teased something 2 patches ahead of the actual region, there's a high possibility that this region is going to be big with veriaty of sceneries in the same category, which I assume that the region is going to be bigger than 1 square kilometers.
Second, traveler-only zones and traveler-only animations tend to be small and rare. Traveler-only zones which are only in quests, including Irminsl and a few escape/chases, "dates" with other characters (including Ayaka one). The areas which are only accessible by traveler during quest inside main Teyvat is always accessible by anyone anytime else. There's a traveler-only animation in the chase-and-escape quests, and there's a fishing animation that's unique to traveler, which are minor features in the game.
Third, having a big region being only accessible to the traveler violates the rule of being a gacha game. What's the main gameplay of Genshin? Wondering around, do quest, do events, fight mobs, sometimes do spiral abyss, with whatever team you feel comfortable to play, usually obtained from Gacha. Wether if it's the cabbage with the killer camera, or the Inazuman Samurai that makes everything into monsters, or that unlucky mondstadt boy, or the Liyue "bookworm" who is interested in martial arts, or that random cook, or charger that looks like a strict Asian mom, the point of Genshin gameplay is to team up your gacha loots, or characters, in a way and play them in a way that you feels comfortable, with at least one or two of the insane supports above. And then, there's a big major region which you can only use the traveler and go into Subnautica mode without being able to switch to and use your favorite support or DPS. The MC-only feature is supposed to be small and in Gacha games, but the size of something changes the properties of something.
Fourth, the existence of unnecessary but effort-consuming features in Honkai Impact 3rd. The one in Honkai Impact is very clear: Most popular units have multiple event detailed and beautiful outfits, including, playable Herrschers and flamechasers and many other popular units. All these outfits have entirely different and beautiful SFX than the original though they have a similar impression, though there's no obligation of the colors of the SFX in relation to the damage type because there's no elemental reactions like Genshin which you need to indicated the elemental type of the character swiftly through their SFX color, besides the fact that the water element does not exist in Honkai Impact, many summer outfits the SFX of the herrschers and the flamechasers are water-themed. It sounds quite effort taking… right? To make the entire underwater kit for Genshin's 70 existing characters would take slightly more effort than this, so if they wasted their strength on Honkai Impact, why don't make it worth more than just aesthetics on Genshin?
And fifth, powercreep. Though it may sounds weird, but without any more major change to the combat system like Dendro, the only way to update the meta is forward powercreep. And what does powercreep means? If someone feels like chasing the meta is hard and necessary, they would leave the game. This kinda happened to Honkai Impact 3rd and also Tower of Fantasy and countless other gacha games, though Honkai Impact 3rd is much more F2P friendly on meta. Underwater combat is a high-effort and high-risk but great method to give a big change to gameplay besides Dendro.
Some people may argue that they would only do the underwater combat for the new Fontaine units, while this takes way less effort than doing that for the existing 70 characters, it's pretty much equivalent severe powercreep if the underwater mobs comes into spiral abyss, because the point of genshin is to PLAY THE GAME WITH WHATEVER DPS YOU LIKE. And DPS could get a bit outdated, but supports never get replaced and with good supports anyone is playable. Doing underwater mechanics only for traveler and new characters violates the rule of Genshin's limited and healthy powercreep.
Sixth, Hoyoverse CAN animate underwater mechanics. While that may not be true back in the days when they state that there isn't going to be underwater stuff in Genshin besides mocking the players on Enkanomia and Beisht, similar animations have be seen in Nahida and Kokomi's demo, Kiana Herrscher of Finalty's summer outfit effects, Elysia Herrscher of Human's kit ( I am pretty obsessed with her burst mode outfit + animations).
And then, there's Honkai Star Rail as a backup if Genshin's underwater mechanics screwed up and turning Genshin into a niche game like Honkai Impact third. Honkai Star Rail has so many good side-features that it can counter with its turn-based feature and keep a big fanbase that are willing to pay. And people who get annoyed on Genshin would naturally move towards Star Rail.
And last, the developers are a bunch of YOUNG POEPLE that are willing to take some risk and get bored. Developers are people that are partially immature, aka "not boring", and would get bored and want to do something new that even the CEO have objected previously. And of course there would be people among the developers that are obsessed with the ocean and wanted to do something SERIOUSLY on it. And the CEO may have changed his mind want to do something seriously about underwater stuff too, ever since Tower of Fantasy did something on it.
That's pretty much my supporting arguments on having underwater combat in Genshin. And as you guys have suggested, there's quite a lot of drawbacks to underwater mechanics:
- Controls difficulty spike.The current Genshin controls are designed to mainly move on flat ground with 1 jump button and uses gravity to automatically do the job of pulling the player downwards. Inside water, you have to control both going up and going down on your own. While that may not feel too troublesome with just Sorush with only 1 attack button, it can get really troublesome when you add 2 or 3 more skill buttons as they're normally there on the characters, with probably a displaced sprint button which would take quite a while to get used to. And Sorush controls aren't that smooth, while smoother and more sophisticated controls would be troublesome to get used to and aren't popular(like the flight sim ones), learned from the "comment section catastrophe" of writing this on Reddit: https://www.reddit.com/Genshin_Impact/comments/13h267v/my_suggestion_for_smooth_underwater_controls_as/
- Developers labor cost.Designing the underwater system itself, even just a mere text sketch of the rework of elemental reactions, would be quite a big work, as I felt when I wrote the basic underwater combat mechanics back before Sorush. And making the whole thing would take even more effort, including building a new physics engine for animating entirely underwater character movesets, though the base movement one may be easy with the animating physics engine, it's much harder to do that with each of the character unique animations which may only look good and natural underwater when having a really big rework, and worse, it's different from aerial combat too. And how many characters are there? 70! That would be quite a huge work.
- Risk management.Having such a big change on the entire gameplay with this much investment has a huge risk of losing a lot of money and players, namely whales and dolphins, and compared to normal powercreep, this mechanism has a much higher failure rate that would kill Genshin.
- Thalassphobia & other games being bad at this.Many players are afraid of the mechanism because other games which do not takes place entirely underwater's underwater mechanisms are minor or not good. There's a lot of PTSD here about other games and can be a major roadblock of Hoyo trying to make those mechanisms even if they want to.
Anyways, thanks to the nature of Reddit and Facebook, people's posts can blow up easily even they're not famous themselves like me. And I had a better feeling that this could blow up and even change the entire community's opinion about underwater mechanisms in Genshin. But thanks for the Subnautica meme makers who paved the way for this meme to spread too.

Unless you're the type to simply follow a build guide, (and nothing wrong with that if you prefer to) when designing a build, one thing to look out for (among many, many things!) is synergies between skills, aspects, and paragon legendary and rare nodes.
Firstly. of course, pick the build that speaks to you, for this article I'll focus in building a Blood Necro.
Where you start in this process is difficult to say, but definitely look at Aspects available that work with this build, so for Blood Necro,
Blood Seeker's Aspect and Blood-bathed Aspect are both available early in the game:
Blood Seeker's Aspect: Blood Lance deals xx% increased damage to its primary target per lanced enemy.
Blood-bathed Aspect: Blood Surge's nova echoes again after a short delay, dealing xx%x less damage.
There are other Aspects that could drop, but as I can't control that, I'll focus on the two I know I can get.
NOTE: As mentioned in another post, you can find the location of Aspects in the Codex Of Power without needing a 3rd part map.
While Paragon nodes don't open up until 50, the Paragon board is going to provide a significant source of our build, and should be consulted when researching your build.
If you want to play blind without consulting guides, (again, perfectly valid decision), this may lead you to choose skills that don't have great Paragon Board synergies.
PARAGON BOARD: RARE GLYPHS
Rare Glyphs are something you get from drops, and as far as I can tell, can be traded, so by the time you're ready to use the first one, you should be able to acquire it.
The range of effect increases as you level the node, but I'd plan based on the full 4-node distance.
Each class has a different mix of the node types, with, for example, Barbs getting 4 main stat glyphs but only one rare node glyph, and Druids getting 5 rare node glyphs.
There aren't that many, and they all seem to work in a similar way, all these apply to nodes "In Range":
% Increase* all magic node buffs^
% Increase* all rare node buffs^
% Increase* in non-magical defence and offence stats^
% Increase* in magical defence and offence stats
*This percentage increases as you level the glyph, from 50% to 240%
^ Each also has a special bonus if you meet a particular stat requirement.
Special Bonus based on one of three stats.
This last one is important to look at more deeply, as that one grants a unique ability based on main stat, or two other stats.
You will get more main stat available in the boards than other stats, with the starter board offering 70 in range of the glyph node.
Given this, and that the starter Rare and Magic Nodes on that first board are generic (i.e not build synergistic) getting the main stat bonus here would seem logical.
Unfortunately, Necro has only two main stat glyphs, and one is minion-centric, as I'm going Blood, I feel the most efficient use of the first Glyph node is to use Control:
Control Rare Glyph grants increased damage per 5 Int to CC'ed enemies with a 2nd bonus that grants 10% damage to Slowed or Chilled OR a 20% bonus to Stunned, or Frozen enemies.
Next I'll take a look at the 2nd board, as each grants several rare nodes, and one legendary node.
PARAGON BOARD: LEGENDARY NODES AND RARE GLYPHS
Now that we have an idea of our Aspects and first Paragon Board, let's see what legendary powers are available that work with our build.
For Blood Necro, the obvious choice is Blood Bath, which reveals an insight into the synergies this post is about (Finally, huh?
On this board we see a focus on Overpower and Fortify.
The legendary node increases the damage of guaranteed overpowers by 50%
Overpower works with Fortify nicely, Overpowered attack deals extra damage equal to the sum of the player’s current and Fortified Life.
Now, after all that background, it's time to start the basic build!
It may seem odd for skills to be so down on this list, but I truly believe you need to work out where you're headed, before starting the basic build.
The first skill is Hemorrhage, (Who came up with that spelling?!), with an impressive 35% lucky hit chance, and Lo and Behold, Fortify is right there for us to select.
Blood Lance and Blood Surge are both chosen form the next, I'll start with whichever one I get the Aspect for first, but both are important.
Both have an Overpower option, with Blood Lance a no-brainer, and whilst Bood Surge also has a Fortify option, I'm sticking with Overpower as I have other ways to fortify.
While at this node, I'll also take Hewed Flesh, as Corpses offer a few bonuses. Remember that Hemorrhage has 35% Lucky hit,
Blood Mist has two options that synergise, one that reduces cooldown after an Overpower, and one that fortifies!
I don't take any curses, so after taking enough passives I get to:
Corpse Tendrils, is really important skill, I guess most Necros will be using it. It not only drags in enemies, but stuns them too, working with our Control Glyph we will slot in the first paragon board.
We also see Necrotic Carapace, that fortifies with each Corpse, and with Hemorrhage and Hewed Flesh, this will be fortifying us constantly.
And finally there are a bunch of blood-boosting nodes, including one that increases overpower for blood skills.
Since I have a skill slot left, I could go either Corpse Explosion or Golem, but based on the what the paragon board offers, I decided to use Golem.
Finally Rathma's Vigour locks it all into place with another guaranteed overpower.
OK, so that's just one example of how looking for synergies in Skills, can lead to a build that does massive damage, while remaining fortified and healthy.

2023.05.29 03:04 brohavok Feeling Like a Failure & Overcome with Shame - Behavioral Euthanasia Appointment Next Weekend
If you decide to read this long post, please note that this is a very sensitive subject and that I am heart-broken, ashamed, and lost. I have been considering behavioral euthanasia for my 3-year-old Malinois for the past 6 months. I took in a puppy for foster back in March 2020 because shelter space was at capacity, and I had free time since I was remote. After a few weeks I decided to keep the puppy, whose name is now Tito. I had no idea what a Belgian Malinois was, but I quickly realized that he wasn't an ordinary pup. I sought out a working dog trainer local to me and we started doing daily boarding and 1-1 training sessions. My trainer has five Malinois (all in various sports such as Schutzhund/IPO and PSA) and she quickly noted that he was VERY nervy and was showing signs of fear-based aggression. Granted, he was a puppy, so I didn't think much of it at the time. I began learning about obedience, and the world of dog sport via LEERBURG, and took several classes on their website for conditioning, reactivity, and competitive heeling. I went headfirst into the world of dog training and sport, and quite honestly fell in love with it. My trainer said that although Tito was a nervous wreck, he didn't have enough drive for sport, but he had too much drive for a pet home. Nonetheless, I stayed consistent with training each day. I noticed a drastic change in behavior at around the 14 month mark. When I would get together with friends, Tito was OK (for the most part) when around their dogs. He would be slightly nippy, trying to herd them but no aggression or fear present. He became explosively reactive when around the same dogs so I took him to the Vet to get checked and rule out any health/medical issues. NO medical issues - so what's next? I told my trainer and she recommended that although it MAY not make a difference, we could try neutering. All of her dogs are intact and she usually advises against it but it was worth a shot. I was back and forth on the idea, until one day he got hold of one of our two cats and drew a little bit of blood (failed to mention that we have two cats in the home that he would chase). I have to manage him both outside of the home, and inside the home at all times. If he isn't in a place command, on the dogpacer treadmill getting his physical needs met, or eating, he is crated. After he attacked one of our cats, I decided to move forward with the neuter. No change. We began a behavior modification program with trazadone and Clomipramine. The trazadone was sedating but it didn't really help much else, while after about 6 months we did see a slight change with the Clomipramine ($250/month I might add). Tito's reactivity got so bad at one point, that he redirected on both my leg, and my fiancé's several times to where he punctured, drew blood, and eventually scarred our legs. Shame on us for not muzzling him from the get-go but you live, and you learn... Aside from being dog reactive, and redirecting on us during walks, he never showed aggression towards people UNTIL the 2-year mark.
INCIDENT #1: My fiancé and I were walking the dogs and had one of our friends who we were expecting waiting outside of our house. We greeted her, the dogs were neutral, and we all walked into the home together. I started prepping the dog's dinner while our friend was taking her shoes off at the entry way. Tito darted from the kitchen, straight to the entryway, and bit our friend's wrist. Thankfully he bit her watch, but it still punctured her wrist and scarred.
INCIDENT #2: A few months went by, and we had my fiancé's cousin and her friend staying with us for the weekend. We made it a point to keep Tito on our second floor, crated if they were around to avoid any potential events. I had him on a leash, muzzled, ready to take him outside for a walk when I said hi to the two girls staying with us. Tito didn't flinch and was neutral which was an unexpected surprise. While muzzled, we walked through the kitchen, and I decided to reward his neutrality with some treats. I then gave my fiancé's cousin and friend some freeze dried, and they fed him through the muzzle. At this point, I felt comfortable (shame on me) and I sat down on the couch and removed Tito's muzzle. The friend still had some treats and fed him - no issue. All was fine up until she stood up, to which he bit her wrist, drawing blood. Not severe by any means, but yet again I put another person in danger because of my naivety.
INCIDENT #3: This next attack was our tipping point as his bites have progressively gotten worse with each event. I was working in my office and had my golden doodle, and Tito next to me with the door closed. My fiance let me know that our friend (same friend was incident #1) was coming over WITH her 8 year old son. I told her that I would crate both the dogs upstairs while they were over to avoid any issues. I walked out of the office and closed the door so the dogs couldn't see our guests. I was chatting with our friend, and hanging out with her son while we waited for dinner to be done. I fell asleep on the couch (it was a 10 hour work day), and napped for about an hour with the dogs still inside the office. My fiancé didn't want to wake me since she knew I was exhausted, so she leashed both dogs and took them outside to go potty. The 8 year old was on his iPad in the living room while his mom was in the bathroom. My fiancé took the boys to the top of the stairs to get back into our house and had them in a sit-stay command to re-attach their leashes before entering our house through the kitchen. Tito broke command and my fiancé could not get his leash attached in time. Before you know it he pushes the door into the kitchen open and is running full speed to get to me (also has separation anxiety and needs to be near me at all times). In order to get to me on the couch however, he needs to pass the kitchen. As he is running through the kitchen, our friend's son is holding his iPad. Now, he knows that Tito had previously bit his mother, so he was TERRIFIED when he saw him running towards us. The son started screaming, with his hands in the air which at this point I woke up, jumping off the couch. Tito turned back around, and as he did the son threw his iPad at Tito. Tito latched onto the boy's thigh, biting him. Thankfully, as soon as he made contact, he immediately let go but the damage was already done. I picked up our friend's son, took him to the tub to clean/disinfect the bite which had two puncture marks (worse than any previous bite). We took him to the ER and thankfully the doctor said that it wasn't too bad and that it should heal in about a week or so. My fiancé and I were devasted. This poor boy was now traumatized due to our recklessness and inability to manage our reactive dog. My fiancé came into this relationship with (1) dog, while I had Tito and our golden doodle. She didn't sign up to live on eggshells and I commend her for all of her support BUT I feel TERRIBLE that now none of her friends feel safe coming to our home. I spent about two weeks researching behavioral euthanasia and we were committed to moving forward with it in February of this year - until the guilt set in. A few months past, no incidents, until about Mid-March. INCIDENT #4: I already mentioned that I had Tito and our golden doodle (name is Archie) before I met my fiance. She already had a 7 year old Lab/Pit Mix named Jasmine so thankfully we were able to get all three dogs to peacefully co-exist (for the most part). Jasmine is an "old soul" and doesn't like any sudden movements or play while she's around - she has her quirks. I was letting all three dogs out in the backyard one afternoon (this was late March of this year), and decided to play fetch with Archie (golden doodle). Jasmine was waiting by the door to get back into the house as I threw the ball for Archie. In order to get to the ball, he had to run past Jasmine. Archie knows exactly how she would react, so he slowed down, and tip toed past her to safely get to the ball. In that moment, Jasmine turned around and attacked Archie, pinning him to the ground. As I am trying to remove Jasmine off of Archie, Tito comes in from left field and attacks Jasmine. All of this happened within a second and I didn't realize that there was any serious damage until we were in the house much later. Jasmine had a three-inch laceration on her under belly, exposing the muscle with the skin/fur nowhere in sight. We immediately rushed her to the ER to which she ended up having to get 14 stitches. For the record, she is fine now but still a terrifying sight. Yet another tipping point, but we still held off on BE.
INCIDENT #5: On Friday night (two days ago), I was letting the dogs out. Now let me preface by saying that the house we live in is a multi-family home where we live on the 2nd/3rd floor, while the first floor is its own apartment/unit. My fiancé's brother, his girlfriend, and their dog actually occupy this space, so we typically text each other when one of us needs to let the dogs out. We always make sure that the backyard is cleared before letting our dogs out to avoid any potential conflict/injury. I shot over a text and let them know that I would be in the backyard (it is about 10:30 pm, and it's DARK). Her brother acknowledged, and I even made a joke about how Tito was crazy because he spotted a rat in our backyard and chased it to the garage. All of a sudden, I hear their backdoor open and their dog Bronny comes towards us in a full sprint. The brother's girlfriend didn't know we were in the yard, as he told her right when she was opening the door. At this point it was too late. Bronnie and Tito have NEVER met aside from smelling each other's markings in the yard when the other isn't present. Before I could even visually spot Bronny (dark, brindle coat), Tito had his teeth around Bronny's neck. I was able to pry Tito's mouth off him, to which Bronny ran inside their apartment, however Tito followed suit. He got a hold of him AGAIN and I had to pry his teeth off, and sort of nudge Bronny away while I got a good grip on Tito (had no collar on so I had to get a good grip on his scruff). Bronny had peed all over himself, scared shitless. I took the boys upstairs to their crates, and came back down to check on him. The punctures weren't too deep and they said they would take him to the vet. I FEEL AWFUL. Although I gave them a warning that we were in the yard, it is my responsibility to keep everyone safe from our dog. Bronny, who is typically a very rambunctious, silly dog, turned on me earlier today when I said hi in the backyard by myself. He tried to bite me, and the brother had to pull him off. I am responsible for this dog's pain, fear, and trauma. Turns out Bronny's neck had swelled up, creating an abyss. They just got back from the vet, and he needed to be sedated so that they could drain the fluid. I feel so much shame and guilt and don't know if I could live with this happening AGAIN.
What more can I do? - Training, training, training, every single day (making sure his physical needs are met along with adequate mental stimulation) - Worked with several trainers, all of which concluded that this is just who he is - Lots of LOVE, PLAY, and more LOVE - Prong collar (no longer using as it makes his reactivity worse) - E-Collar (no longer using as it only amplifies his redirection) - Behavior modification in conjunction with medication - Has a daily routine and is given jobs
I don't know what else I can do - how can I continue to justify keeping him alive? He is my soul-dog, my best friend, my boy. He has so much love for us and can be the most amazing dog - until he isn't. He would be the greatest dog if it wasn't for his reactivity but what can you do? These were the cards we were dealt. I quite honestly believe that it all comes down to genetics and it is a uphill battle every day. Whoever decided to breed and produce Tito and his litter mates is a backyard breeding POS.
It kills me that I took in this sweet puppy, did everything I possibly could to give him a great life, and it still wasn't enough. It kills me that I am so irresponsible and selfish, that I decided to keep him alive after each and every bite incident. I feel so bad for my fiancé as she knows how hard this decision is for me and yet after everything that has happened, continues to support my decision to keep him alive despite all the pain he has caused us. I can't continue to make excuses for my dog. I can't keep walking on eggshells in my own home, putting the safety of our cats, other dogs, and neighbors at risk because I LOVE MY DOG. My love can't make him a stable, neutral dog.
The thought of taking him to the vet, watching him lay on a metal table breaks my heart. Having him look me in the eyes as he takes his last breath, thinking that we'll leave to go home any minute, brings me to tears. How could I fail this loving boy who would do ANYTHING for me? How can I walk out of the vet clinic with only a leash and no dog looking up at me like I am their whole entire world? This isn't fair. We will be booking an appointment for next Sunday. I plan on taking PTO from work next Friday and Monday so that we can have one last incredible weekend together.
If you have any ideas of how we can make the most of our time, please share. This is going to be the hardest decision of my life and I am not ready to lose my best friend. Thank you for listening.

2023.05.29 02:54 Jace17 How to handle power level imbalance at an LGS event?
I went to a Commander Party event at an LGS this weekend. I went early to buy/sell cards so when I was done I joined a table of three other players who were also waiting for the event to start. We played one game and it went miserably.
One player was using [[Atraxa, Grand Unifier]] which was a pile goodstuff/value cards with no real wincon aside from commander damage. (I know from playing against it before.) The other two players were Spirits Tribal and Deathtouch Tribal and were on the lower side of the power scale. I was playing a tuned [[Prosper]] treasure-aristocrats deck.
Things started off terribly with an early [[Rhystic Study]] from Atraxa and the other two players feeding them cards from casting their low-impact spells for the rest of the game. I paid for all my Rhystic triggers to try to set an example and suggested we play around it but was ignored. The rest of the game dragged on with the other two players not contributing anything at all. Every piece of removal I threw at the Atraxa player got answered, and they just kept on wiping the board. This dragged on for almost an hour until the Commander party was about to start so we abandoned our game.
By this time most of the tables were full and it seemed like everyone has settled into their pods. I asked the people I just played with if we could switch decks to match power levels, but the Spirits and Deathtouch players only had lower power decks (I assumed they were newer players.) The Atraxa player told me that they have the right to play whatever deck they want.
Not wanting to get stuck in another game like the previous one, I asked the other players in the pod seated beside us (who seemed to know the Atraxa player) if we could swap around players based on power levels but nobody wanted to. It felt bad abandoning the newer players, but I ended up asking the LGS staff if I could be moved to another pod. Luckily, a group of 3 players just arrived and I was able to have much better games with them.
Now I'm still wondering if I could have handled things better. Should I have stayed and tried to politick my way to gang up on the Atraxa player before they snowball? Should I have switched to a more powerful/faster deck to kill the Atraxa player before they could cast their commander? What would you have done in such a situation?

I live my life striving towards certain goals but once I accomplish one of them I just stop, is that bad?
All my friends are in the mindset of constantly improving, constantly doing more stuff and I find that kind of exhausting, I don't get why people strive towards something without a reason. Most of the time it's just for the sake of it or for social reasons; mainly because that's what social media told them to do
For example I wanted to work in x and I made it but I don't intend to do anything else, I don't want to be the new boss, I don't want to be the owner of the place, no, I'm comfortable were I am I don't find the need to "improve" unless the situation calls for it (for examole if I were to had kids of course I would need more money)
I started thinking about it and I think I tend to view my life as a sort of check list, I check the mark when I'm confortable with my progress or when I archived what I wanted. For example I learnt English because I wanted to understand the games I played (and youtube videos too) but I don't know any gramatical rule neither do I care about it;×prefixes, subjects whatever. I achieved my goal of learning the gist of it and then I stopped
The problem is that my friends and colleagues view me as a lazy person and maybe I am? I really don't know is it so weird to be a conformist? Its because I'm autistic?
I wanted to hear your opinions on the matter

Back in the early 2010s I often played with my Zune which was basically a Ipod but it was made by Microsoft. The Zune didn't sell well and because of that many Zune games are lost. A game I remembered was run and jump which was a 2d multi-player game which what I remember a "block character" there's no screenshots from what I can find and is completely lost. Another game is Project Gotham Racing Ferrai Edition. This game does have screenshots and theres videos of people playing it on youtube however you can't play the game anymore as it was apparently zune exclusive game and downloads of the game are most likely viruses. The game is partially lost unless if you still somehow have a Zune that's still working. Another game was a game that involved pigs called a beanstalk tale. There's again screenshots of the game but you can't play the game anymore. And theres bbq battle which was a fun game and theres screenshots of it but you can't play it anymore as theres no archives. A pattern is showing because many games were Zune exclusive most games are now lost due to the Zune disappointing performance. Above is a picture of most of the Zune games that are lost. The chances of finding these game should be a bit easier if anyone has a working zune still which is rare but still possible.
