First day Dasher Driver and got $1 tip

2023.05.19 01:19 Sumerian-King First day Dasher Driver and got $1 tip

Hi Dashers, this is my first day. I picked up 2 orders at Waba Grill. The first order gave $1 tip despite the fact that it's 3 miles and the apartment unit is hard to find. I guess I should avoid cheap fast food place because the client was cheap too. Just venting.

2023.04.29 09:32 workersright Workers at Waba Grill in Los Angeles have had enough of wage theft and illegal retaliation for taking state-mandated paid sick days, and they've taken action by walking off the job on strike.

This is a breaking news story that deserves our attention and support. Let's show solidarity with these workers and demand that Waba Grill respects their rights and treats them with the dignity they deserve.

2023.04.22 04:30 farleylai USBank Cash+ Fast Food Category Data Collection

The 5% Fast Food category of USBank Cash+ is insanely rewarding as it is usually not required to pay tips at Fast Food restaurants. However, it is not always obvious a food and dining place is classified as Fast Food. There are surprises and exceptions that popular online merchant databases may not specifically capture under the Fast Food subcategory of dining such as the AwardWallet merchant lookup. On the other hand, USBank never makes it clear of the bonus category per transaction as Chase in the reward activities but only in aggregation. The category in the transaction details may be shown as Food & Dining that is not precise enough even though it indeed earns 5% back as Fast Food. This is annoying. Therefore, this thread is intended to collect a list of Fast Food restaurants/places that are not common to think of.
Since USBank does not provide the bonus breakdown per transaction, one way to verify the bonus categories is using a spreadsheet to check if the exact rewards amount can be calculated as on the statement. In practice, one should select the 5% Fast Food and 2% Restaurants in case a seemingly Fast Food dining place is actually a restaurant in disguise. Once the category is verified, another 5% dining card or 4% Altitude Go may be used next time instead to maximize the cash back.
===== Update (thanks to MooMooYoshi)
USBank does not directly provide the CB breakdown per transaction for Cash+, unlike Altitude cards. Only the 1% base rewards are listed while the other bonus CB are shown in aggregation. The definitive way to verify is by downloading the transactions in CSV to review the MCC in the memo field. For Fast Food, it has to be 5814. For restaurants, it must be 5812. Others likely fall into the 1% category.

Official:
Undocumented:
Exceptions as restaurants with MCC=5812 in disguise:
Not even covered under restaurants (1%):
Kindly verify your data points and make sure to complete the enrollment at least 3 business days ago. Sometimes, the category varies if co-located in a shared building with other business. When in doubt, better describe the context and review the MCC in the transaction CSV.

2023.04.20 20:28 saw_wooo Waba grill/flame broiler etc…

Has anyone had this while recovering or having gastritis? I’ve had it once or twice when I didn’t have time to meal prep. My order was brown rice, bare chicken, no sauce, no veggies no nothing. I didn’t have any issues with it but has anyone had a problem with it or is the sauce okay to eat?

2023.04.05 11:51 UndergroundNerd Lost my first 50 pounds!

Hey everyone!
First time posting here. I began seriously dieting the end of January.
I am a 5’ 11 age 23 male fresh out of college. What seriously motivated me to start dieting is that both my dad and grandpa died to Covid related illnesses that they could have had a much better chance at surviving if they were not severely overweight.
I started at 388.3lb on Jan 23th 2023 and as of today April 4th I’m at 330lb.
Diet food is no fun. I used to go out to eat at “heathy” fast food options(Greek food, beef Wellington, Japanese grills like waba grill, and kbbq), but now I cut that all out. I know not many are a fan of paid diet plans and I am not here to sell anyone on this plan or even give you links for it.
I joined Optavia which was originally Medifast. It’s origin is the plan they tell weight loss surgery candidates that they must be on for a year before they are allowed to have the surgery to see if the patient can get to goal weight without such a invasive surgery and whether they can commit to such a lifestyle change since they will have to anyways after the surgery.
The diet gave me 5 “meals” a day and has us make our own “lean and green” once a day. The lean and green being your protein heavy option. It basically puts you at 1000ish calories a day. You eat every 3 hours to stave off hunger and keep your metabolism burning all day.
This diet plan has helped me learned how to make healthy meals that both taste good and help teach me proper portion control.
I have a long way to go still, I’m not even under 300 pounds yet. But having such a significant step forward being 50 pounds down make a difference.
I’m not pushing anyone to look up this plan, just here to say find what works for you. Not everything is for everyone. Find your reason for losing weight and keep that always with you on your journey.
Thank you for letting me share.

2022.12.22 20:42 jmm1855 Healthy Lunch spots around the IE recommendations

I am in outside sales and cover the IE and wanted to see if anyone has some good healthier food recommendations for lunch? My company reimburses me for lunch so I usually spend $8 to $20 on lunch per day. I never buy drinks, would rather have more food so at waba grill I do double chicken for example.
I have been getting waba grill and sandwiches from places like Fire House Subs and Submarina but want to find more places like Bush Fire Kitchen that have more options.
I go all over the IE from Corona, Temecula, Palm Springs, Big bear, Ontario and San Bernardino etc so looking for recommendations all over.

Ive never cooked before but im trying to gain weight so I think its about time. How can I make a simple recipe like chicken/steak with rice. Like the bowls you would buy at waba grill or flame broiler. I would also like to add veggies but I absolutely hate them so any tips on that would also be helpful.

Almost seems like bait to make the driver go to the area. I’ve fallen for it a few times and noticed the trend

2022.07.15 03:16 SunshineType96 Korean Beefless Bulgogi

First of all: SOOO good. Second of all, in the unfortunate situation this gets discontinued or you can’t find it, it is literally the same product as the Nasoya PlantSpired Steak! The ingredients are the same. I noticed because Waba Grill has a vegan steak bowl that I love, and when I cooked the TJ’s version, it tasted exactly the same so I looked it up and compared. However, it costs less at TJ’s and the package is 3oz more :)

2022.05.29 05:02 ThrowawageSlave Fucked up by being on some broke boi shit at Waba Grill

Embarrassing asf! Peeped a meme about workers not giving a fuck bout ppl using water cups for soda, by chance the water was spitting out lemonade and didn’t have a separate tap for water like usual. Man this waba grill old lady kicks up a fuss, wants me to pay $2.20, holds my food hostage, then just runs over to my table and takes the water cup back lol. Shit was lowkey embarrassing and my fellow yung wage slaves wanted to bail me out but I guess ole lady was the alpha dog of the food crew😂

2022.03.07 00:22 Interesting-Berry452 Tips being stolen

Now I know that there’s always been discrepancies about our tips with DD (claiming we keep 100% of our tips). Today, I finally proved that some of our tips are being taken whether from the restaurant or DD itself.
At waba grill, I signed the receipt and saw that the customer tipped $2.03
When I completed the order the app said the customer tipped $1.50.
I know it’s $.53 difference but dangg. Haha
Anyone else also compared receipt to app?

2021.07.08 05:40 Lowabunny2 Found a metal wire in my waba grill bowl. Is that enough to pursue legal action?

Hi today I ordered a chicken and steak bowl from waba grill. I did not see the metal wire and I put it in my mouth and actually had chewed on it for two bites. I cut my mouth , I spit it out and went back to the restaurant and got a refund . What would be the first steps to pursue legal actions ?
