2023.05.29 02:36 _Name_Changed_ Tint recommendations in the SF Bay area.

This is the first NorCal summer with Tesla Model 3. Planning to get my Front (70%), and back windshields (70%) along with four windows (45%) Tinted. I got a quote of 1000$ for Xenith IR Ceramic tinting with Jet Black Tints Santa Clara. Are there any other suggestions from someone in this case?

2023.05.29 02:26 conrad141 Where to find affordable and trustworthy tint online?

Sorry if this gets asked a lot. I’m actually trying to tint my apartment windows and I’ve been looking online and haven’t had much luck.
The primary thing I care about is that it blocks 99+% of UV (I could go to 97% if it’s a lot cheaper). And I’d like it to be a brand I can actually trust the UV value for, not just some random brandless Amazon seller.
I’d prefer something with 50+% VLT, ideally 70+.
One way mirror would be nice but I don’t really care.
I need a roll at least 30” wide, and I need about 250” total. I don’t care if I have to buy two rolls or buy a roll that’s longer than I need.
Good IR rejection would be nice but I mostly care about UV.
Everywhere I look is either super expensive high performance auto tint that I don’t need, or it’s brandless not very trustworthy seeming stuff that is often too small for what I need.
Are there any trustworthy sites/brands/sources to look up?

2023.05.29 02:17 manyaccidents How much tint looks good?

I’m looking to tint my truck and I want to know what will look good but not be too illegal. In my state the law is 35% on passenger and driver windows and I believe no tint allowed on windshield. However no restrictions on how dark the rear windows can be.
I’m wanting to tint all the windows but I don’t know if it will look bad if the back windows have a different percent than the front windows. Also in general, wondering what is a good amount that will keep people from being able to see in much at all and won’t put me in a fish bowl.

2023.05.29 01:19 Vprbite Any recommendations for window tinting?

Looking to get some tint done on my Girlfriend's Kia Sportage. Nothing illegal, I don't need limo tint all the way around. Just legal tint. But want a good place that stands behind its work.
Thanks in advance.

I'd like at least 150bhp, preferably awd or rwd, automatic and a decent amount of options before reaching that 45k mark (parking cam + sensors, panoramic roof, tinted windows, heated seats, ...)
*€45k Belgian prices

2023.05.28 22:24 Infinite-Associate95 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee SUMMIT RESERVE 4X4

2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee SUMMIT RESERVE 4X4
Hey guys I have a Bmw series 7 2019 (70k miles ) and I’m thinking to switch for the new 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee SUMMIT RESERVE 4X4 . I choose this trim to not feel to much the difference on the luxury end of the cars . Reason my family got bigger lol and a sedan I don’t think gonna make it longer especially here in Midwest winter .
Now my question it is worth it ? I will attach the window sticker down for . If anybody has the car some precious info would definitely help . Thank you ! ( priced around 67 after discount)

2023.05.28 21:53 Current_Singer_6354 AITA for standing up to a guy who was hooning and trying to pick a fight.

The incident occurred after I played soccefootball I was just about to leave before this guy in a BMW parks his car behind me and stays there for a minute or two reving his engine. I thought this was fairly odd but he eventually leaves. I proceed to leave myself before noticing he has parked hear the exit next to where my 2 friends and coach are parked. The parking lot is set up so there is 2 parking lots one near the exit/entrance and one near the clubhouse connected by a 100m road between them.
So they flag me over to park next to them and explain the guy has been tearing around the parking lots at rediculously high speeds while doing burnouts and trying to swipe past them as close as possible. The guy apparently rolled down his window at one point and asked what they were staring at. Eventually the guy does a massive burnout near our cars before tearing past trying to swipe at us and I pull the finger at him. It probably was uncalled for bur there were a bunch of kids at the club as well as the players etc. And he was endangering us all with his actions.
After a couple of laps the guy comes over and winds down his window. He threatens me and starts hurling abuse while saying I disrespected him by pulling the finger at him. Now I'm not giving into this bully and so I let him have it. I didn't get personal just explained in a firm tone that he's being a dickhead and that he is endangering kids as well as all of us and that he needs to cut it out. To cut a long story short the bloke gets out of is car and hurls more insults this time with fairly heavy homophobic, sexist and racial slurs.
He then proceeds to get in my face placing his hand/fist about a cm from my face but I don't budge. He's taller than me (about 6'3) but I'm not much shorter (6'2) and solidly built. Im not one to pick a fight but I won't let someone bully and harrass me without standing up to them. He then proceeds to say how rich he is as well as saying he is going to bring a bunch of his family friends to come sort me out. Again I laugh this off before another 2 cars show up. He dares me to call the cops and it gets pretty close to boiling over on there end although I reckon he was all talk. He keeps screaming that he wants an apology and eventually my mates and coach who have been standing a bit away from the action come over and pad his ego trying to say I'm in the wrong to cool him down and that I should just apologise. After another couple of minutes I eventually relent and give him a half assed apology saying that I was sorry I hurt his feelings primarily because my mates were worried and I didn't want to get them into any problems.
We manage to leave and one of them tries to follow us but chickens out after a while. When we get back to the house the boys give me a serve saying I'm an idiot for standing up to him and that I should have just kept quiet and not provoked him however I believe I did the right thing I didn't drop to his level and get personal but still told him that what he was doing was out of line. I grew up in a pretty dodgy neighbourhood and so I am no stranger to this kind of thing. They think I am right in theory but still shouldn't have done anything that would put us in danger as they could have had a gun/knife. So AITA for standing up to this bloke and his band of merry men.

2023.05.28 21:12 HealBeforeZod The Dark Lord of Fast Food Part 2

Click here to read part 1
“Lady Jen-NEE of Chester’s field.” A familiar voice sang behind me, his tone uncharacteristically pleasant. I turned to see Lord Sirris before me, a silk cravat around his throat which was adorned with what appeared to be a ruby. He sported a black damask vest, and his cape somehow more ostentatious than ever. He bowed. I returned the greeting with an awkward curtsy.
“Lord Sirris.” I replied.
“It seems I owe you a great debt for teaching me of the intern’s net, my dear. Such power, I will soon conquer this realm, as I have conquered many others!”
“Oh um, no problem.” I replied. From the corner of my eye, I saw my impending doom outside the window. I groaned, seeing the regional manager’s BMW pull into one of the accessible spots (and no, the regional manager did not have the proper plates or placards). “Oh, I’m sorry Lord Sirris, but it looks like my regional manager is on his way in.” I said, trying my best to finish cleaning up the soda disaster. The regional manager walked in and shook his head.
He pointed at me. “Look at this mess! Where are the wet floor signs you idiot!?”
I felt my stomach drop, usually they were the first thing I would grab, but somehow, I forgot them in all the carbonated chaos.
“Knave!” Dark Lord Sirris bellowed. He strode over to the regional manager, and, to my astonishment, he grasped his hand around the regional manager’s throat and lifted him up with one hand. “How dare thee!” Black shadows branched out from Dark Lord Sirris’s talon-like nails. His normally black eyes glowed red like hot coals. “You shall not speak to Lady Jen-NEE in such a disrespectful manner!” The regional manager’s legs flailed beneath him, the shadows emanating from the dark lord enveloped the regional manager. The regional manager glowed red like the color of the Dark Lord’s eyes before exploding into a cloud of ash.
From behind the counter, I heard the ear-piercing scream of my manager who just witnessed what happened. I saw him move for the silent alarm.
“What the fu—” I screamed, leaping back several feet. Dark Lord Sirris, who I suppose really was Conqueror of the 7 Kingdoms, Slayer of Gods, and Ruler of Bythica, brushed the ash off his shoulder. He lifted his hands apologetically to me.
“My apologies for the outburst, my Lady. I did not mean to frighten you, though, in my defense, I think my title speaks for itself. I speak no falsehoods.”
“Y-yo-you murdered the regional manager?”
“Maybe a little bit, to be honest, that spell only inflicts as much damage on a person as the selfishness in their heart.” Lord Sirris shook his head at the ash everywhere, “really, I have used that spell on demons back in Bythica and they at most lost an arm. Just how selfish are these servants of capitalism?” He pondered, in awe of the results.
He turned back to me and then turned his wrist in a circular motion. A ring of glowing azure appeared where his wrist had gestured. In the center of the ring, instead of seeing the interior of a McDonald’s there was a towering castle of black stone. Lord Sirris got down on one knee.
“Lady Jen-NEE of Chester’s field of the great land of Misery in the Kingdom of America, you have given me the power of the intern’s net. I would humbly like to request that you change your allegiance. This Mac’s Donald does not fit a creature of your abilities and, dare I say, beauty. I would be honored to have you become my vassal and perhaps…” he blushed, “perhaps one day… a courtship?” He looked up to me, his coal black eyes hopeful.
I glanced behind me, at the kitchen. I turned and gazed before me in wonder at the castle and what must have been Bythica. On one hand, the homicidal magical warlord may not have had the most stable of temperaments. On the other hand, I barely made more than minimum wage. I sniffed the fry scent on my clothes, thinking about the fact that scent always lingered, even in my hair, at the end of a shift. Lord Sirris extended his hand, and I reluctantly took it.
“Just the job, and I don’t want to do your dirty work. The courtship is also off the table, the murder thing is a bit of a red flag.”
“Fair, I will not press the matter. I have no interest in unwilling brides, that is Dark Lord Bock’s style, not mine. However, if you should change your mind, the offer will stand, my Lady.” He said as we stepped through the ring, and the fresh, crisp air of Bythica filled my lungs.

2023.05.28 20:40 BobbyTDDD RX350h cleaning

Recently purchased a 2023 RX350h. I'm getting the windows tinted and exterior treated with Opti-Coat Pro+ next week. For long term maintenance, I plan on using ONR + opti-seal externally.
However, I'm not entirely sure how to approach the interior. Based on what I've read here, ONR is still fine to use on plastic/non-leathery/glass surfaces followed by 303 aerospace protectant.
For the leather seats/other areas and wood trim around the dash, would it be fine to just vacuum and use a damp MF cloth without any chemicals? Our trim also includes suede-like material on the seats and doors- any suggestions here would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!

2023.05.28 19:09 Tacticalbiscit New here and have some questions

So my wife got a xtool d1. Used it the first time and somehow I didn't even think about fumes and dust. I'm trying to figure out building a housing for it and I'm having trouble finding what I need to use for the tint. I tried looking for pre-tinted plexiglass, but having trouble finding one related for diode lasers. Also, what kind of fan do I need to vent it outside? I was looking at the ACInfinity S6 but idk if this is to much or to little. It would have no filters, just piped right out a window.
Any advice would be great!

had some chav chasing me about for an hour or so and took photos of my friend and i and my car reg. i didn’t get their license plate but it was a vauxhall corsa (old style) with stickers all over the back window and tinted.
i also saw them later on in the morrisons car park speeding round.
might be over the top to post this but just wanted to give a fair warning if you’re around the westcroft area, they were driving like a c*nt and clearly like to bully people. look after yourselves.

2023.05.28 17:16 ThatWhiteG20 New here!

New here!
Hey everyone, long time lurker first time poster. Just wanted to introduce my 2022 330i with M Sport to the sub. As of right now it is totally stock but that will change very soon. I've done a few minor cosmetic things such as installing a shadowline grille and carbon trunk lip, as well as window tinting and debadging. I have a Kies Motorsports carbon lip coming in the mail along with some Burger spacers and a resonator delete scheduled for next week (looking at the Dinan Axle-back for the future) If you want to stay tuned on the build, feel free to give me a follow on here and IG! I'd love to hear any thoughts on the build so far and any suggestions for down the line.
