Bitcoin Value Dropping?

2023.06.05 08:17 nodtingmatters Bitcoin Value Dropping?

What is going on lately with the price of Bitcoin? Last week or so it was rising up about $1500 in value now it’s going back down more than it was at before. What is causing these fluctuations? Should I keep hodling? Will it go up anytime soon again? I can’t afford for it to keep going down in value. Anyone know if it will start going up soon or will it just go down from here on? Is this just a small fluctuation phase?

2023.06.05 07:48 StatisticianSad6853 How to use the Twitter algorithm for Brand Boosting?

How to use the Twitter algorithm for Brand Boosting?
As you learn about digital and social media marketing, you will be amazed to see how leveraging the Twitter algorithm can make you boost your brand and build a trustworthy reputation. If you want to make big moves, you need to respect the Twitter algorithm.
Twitter is a social media platform that lets you stand out from the rest and know about everything happening worldwide. If you want to make big moves like enhanced engagement, drive traffic to your website, build brand awareness, etc., you need to respect the Twitter algorithm. Unlike other apps, Twitter allows users to choose the type of content they want to see by themselves by toggling between algorithmically driven default timeline (Top tweets) or viewing them in chronological order (Latest tweets).
With more than 500 million tweets shared daily, which aligns with an average of 237.8 million Twitter users, there is plenty of scope for connecting with a wider audience and boosting your brand’s awareness.
As you learn about the advantages of digital marketing and social media marketing, you will be amazed to see how leveraging the Twitter algorithm can make you boost your brand and build a trustworthy reputation.

What is the Twitter algorithm?

The Twitter algorithm is a set of rules that rank content on the platform based on multiple factors like virality, geographical location, recency, relevance, and personal interests. In simple terms, this algorithm is the brain that controls what we see on Twitter and how we see it.
Before Elon Musk took over Twitter, he ran a poll on the platform asking whether Twitter’s algorithm should be open source or not. Of 1.1 million votes, 82.7% voted with an overwhelming ‘yes.’ Therefore, he opened Twitter’s source code at a TED conference in Vancouver to “unlock” Twitter’s “extraordinary potential” and let users know why their tweets are promoted. After this poll, Twitter’s algorithms shifted from ‘black box’ to ‘open-source.’ Thus, improving the platform’s transparency and marketing potential.
Although the new algorithm boasts of transparency, some people found it vague and lacking context. Apart from such polarization over transparency, below are some known aspects of its algorithm,
Mixing – It is the last phase of the algorithm where everything comes on the feed. Based on ‘HeavyRanker,’ Twitter aims to rank every tweet on the basis of a higher probability of getting
positive actions. This framework is likely to deliver the best reactions. If the algorithm believes that the user you targeted will engage positively in your tweet, you may earn a 75x content boost.

How does Twitter recommendation algorithm work?

Twitter’s recommendation algorithm is a mix of multiple interconnected jobs and services to help serve the feeds of tweets and other content across all Twitter product surfaces. Tweets on the Twitter platform are recommended in Search, Explore, and Ads areas. This algorithm aims to answer all important questions by extracting information from tweets, engagement data, and users.
Home Mixer is the mechanism that leads to constricting the ‘For You’ timeline. It acts as the software backbone to connect the three features of the recommendation algorithm – Candidate sourcing, ranking, and heuristics and filters.
Out-of-Network sources are a bit trickier as it allows the algorithms to guess whether you would interact with a particular user’s tweets, even if you don’t follow them.
The final mixing and serving process is initiated when the above three processes are completed. The Home Mixer is ready with the filtered tweets to be displayed on the timeline. As the last step in the entire process, the Twitter recommendation algorithm blends the selected content with other non-tweet content, like the Twitter advertising mechanism, onboarding prompts, and follow recommendations to create the final timeline.

How do you hit the algorithm on Twitter?

Twitter is a platform allowing users to see what they want on their timeline. Using the same, marketing experts at SkyTrust have aptly answered the popular question – What affects the Twitter algorithm? Below is a list of factors that let you optimize your Twitter content.
Staying within the trends is easy now that you know about the Twitter algorithm and how it works! If you are still confused about what is Twitter trending algorithm, it is the algorithm that identifies the topics that have been trending for a while or daily.

2023.06.05 07:23 pashiny Advise for Spx vertical spread profit/loss

I made a spx call credit spread. When I was reviewing the order, the maximum profit said 1500, and the maximum loss said -500.
My question is at expiration, if spx goes above my long call option strike, I will lose 500? This is my maximum loss? Am I correct?
Because spx is cash settlement, I am not sure how the maximum loss is calculated.
My broker is schwab.
Thanks.

2023.06.05 07:18 astaroh [Discussion] What keeps you playing Wurm Online and not other MMOs? What do you enjoy about Wurm that other games can't provide you?

This is a sort of general discussion post since this subreddit board holds 1.4k members but only displays 2 posts this month and 21 posts in the last 12 months. I love the game and know firsthand of the hundreds of passionate players who have created massive projects, hilarious memes, etc, but it saddens me to see such a barren subreddit. I believe that many gamers visit the subreddit boards of games they might like to try to investigate the community, see what players have accomplished in-game, or find memes to enjoy. I'd like to see a post like this somewhere so when someone new finds this subreddit, they may find what keeps real players spending time and money in the world of Wurm.
I've been loving this game second life for over a decade now and to this day it has a hold over me. No other game I've played comes even close, and that includes all the look-a-likes over the years like Life is Feudal, Haven and Hearth, EVE Online, or Mortal Online (I'm not calling them copies or in any way disparaging them, just sharing that other sandbox MMOs personally don't do a thing for me).
I personally love sharing bred horses with others, allowing neighbors who have zero interest in the in-depth Animal Husbandry to always have a good horse or two. I also really appreciate friendly duels, not-so-friendly murders and thefts, and helping out others wherever I can. Wurm Online allows me to be as creative as I want, using Slate to build a haunted castle, filled with black sheep, ebony horses, and gold lamp posts. It's always been a goal of mine to construct two towers and connect them with a rickety rope bridge and to recreate Falador from RuneScape using gleaming marble. I am fascinated by learning about mechanics in-game, like how the many meditation paths work. By meditating on the Path of Love, you can enchant nature tiles, letting players heal twice as fast while standing on them and letting grass-grazing animals feed on them far longer than regular grass tiles. Another thing I enjoy is spelunking abandoned ruins of old deeds. I have a habit of repairing everything in sight, mostly to train the Repairing skill but also to keep all this junk alive for someone else to wander by and take what they might need.
I will never forget some of the player-built wonders I've seen:
What is Wurm Online? A sandbox, medieval life simulator where players directly change the world every single day. In the beginning of each server, there are no roads, no buildings. It's an untamed wilderness. Over many years players change the world in real time, adding roads leading to far off vistas, dredging canals to allow fasteconvenient travel and shipping routes, and shave off the tops of mountains to build grand castles. There is an economy that persists between players. Using an in-game currency, anyone can sell anything for any price, allowing players to independently offer goods + services in person, by mail, or an NPC merchant. There is only one type of non-player-owned NPC merchant and they do not buy anything. They sell a very limited stock of magical items that most players ignore entirely.
Wurm Online boasts 129 skills and 10 characteristics which range from 1-99.9999 and allows players to spend as much time as they'd like raising skills without limits. There are no classes or hard caps on skills, like only being able to train a total number of skill points (Mortal Online, EVE, Life is Feudal). Like RuneScape or Skyrim, you can potentially reach 99.9999 in every skill one day! All skill increases also increase characteristics (like Body Strength or Mind Logic) and most skills also increase their parent skill (like Farming increases the Nature skill). Each skill grants a special title at 50, 70, 90, and 99.9999 which allows you to show off your talent to other players!
The vast majority of constructed items and buildings are fully destructible. On PVE servers, you can only destroy your own buildings, but anyone may bash off-deed fences and un-pave highways. On PVP servers, you can mold the entire island to your will, including flattening others' deeds into dust. Everything off-deed decays over time, so as time goes on, tamed lands will become wild once more. Monsters will wander rampantly, and all buildings/roads will eventually disappear.

2023.06.05 07:06 ordinarycontents Thoughts on creatine as a dietary supplement? Feeling a little discouraged since recently experiencing some exhaustion/ muscle weakness and had to lower some of my weight sets.

For context, I'm 33F, 5'6". I started out at 256 lb in early March, and am currently at 215 lb through IF, CICO, water fasting (maybe a few days once a month primarily for autophagy and reducing insulin resistance), and 5 days a week of 30 min cardio with about 1-2 hour of weights (depending on how long it takes to complete my set that day with rests, waiting for machines, etc). I alternate days of push, pull, core/abs/lower back, rotator cuff rehab, and leg day.
My daily calories are typically 1200-1500 (BMR is around 1540 with 45.9% body fat according to my last health office assessment), and I try to hit at least 120g protein and around 20g carb per day. With rare exceptions, I cook my own food and weigh everything out with a food scale. In the past, I've had issues with reactive hypoglycemia, so I'm trying to stay low carb, high protein. I don't have a gallbladder, so I'm hesitant to do a high fat diet like keto.
I currently take a daily prenatal vitamin (not pregnant), as well as supplements for vitamin d (i have a deficiency), collagen peptides, and fish/krill oil along with a non-caffeinated pre-workout.
I don't have much meat in my diet, and get most of my protein from eggs, cheese/dairy, and whey protein, with a variety of vegetables (usually cucumber, tomatoes, and carrots), though i occasionally will have a salmon fillet or rarely some other kind of meat. I also aim to drink about 1 gallon of water a day with sodium <2000 mg (typically around 1500 or less).
My goal is to hit 150 lb and increase my strength and lifts. This was going well with a steady increase in my bench press, squats, deadlifts, etc while losing weight, but in the last 1-2 weeks, I feel I've been stalling or moving backwards. I was feeling great, better than i have in years, but lately I've been sluggish and had to move back to a lower weight on several different machines. I've also seen a dramatic decrease in my weightloss with only .6lb in the last week. Friday I had to call off work because I was feeling so exhausted and weak I couldn't get out of bed, so I ended up sleeping all day.
I'm really frustrated right now because I've been working so hard and don't know what else I can do. I've been thinking about adding a small dose of creatine just to bring myself up to a typical level of 2-3g a day since I don't typically eat meat, so I know I'm not getting it from my diet. Any help would be appreciated!

2023.06.05 07:00 throwaway43298432 Small UPDATE: I just opened a 401k and I am being charge $250 per month to use it. Is this normal?

Hi everyone. This is a tiny follow up on my post that hit the front page of this sub the other, and people wanted me to post updates.
I called my Financial Representative at ADP. She was very nice and was the one who helped me set up the 401k. I told her that I was concerned about the very high fees and why I shouldn't just go with another company like Fidelity that offers the same service, often for free.
She gave a long explanation with a LOT of jargon that made it hard to understand, but the thing I do remember her mentioning (and I believe was the main thing she was trying to say) was that the fee could be used as a "tax credit," something along those lines.
Anyway, I have still been looking into moving my 401k over to another company, and my ADP plan PDF says that there is a $1500 fee to "transfer to a new bookkeeper."
This whole company sounds like a scam lmao like it sounds like I am Barton Finked into this situation, like I have to either stick with them or I give them essentially everything in my 401k.
Do I have other options for how I can legally work around this without paying that outrageous fee?

2023.06.05 06:55 what-a-doric How long would it approximately take to lose 42kg (92lbs) safely? I’ve already lost 10-15kg so far but I’ve got 42kg to go. Info in text.

148cm, 25FtM currently 92.1kg, highest was around 105 ish kg
Need to get down to around 50kg to be a healthy weight.
Started losing weight around a year and a half ago but wasn’t hugely committed until a few months ago so only lost a bit the first year and then lost majority the past few months.
Generally walk about 6-9000 steps a day. Try to do ring fit a few times a week but trying to be more consistent. Going to try to ride my bike more.
Calories I haven’t really been counting but I’ve been eating less and drinking less juice.
My BMR for calories is roughly 1500 I think but if I say eat around 1100-1200 a day would this be acceptable or should I be eating less? If I start counting calories that is.
I genuinely don’t know how much I am eating calorie wise at the moment but I have been losing roughly 0.5-1kg per week ish sometimes a bit less.
Anyway. How long would it take to lose 42kg in a safe way. And what would the safest way to do this be?
I have Bipolar 1 and OCD so sometimes when I get into things I go a little too far into things. So that’s why I’m hesitant about starting to count calories. But I do like spreadsheets so it could be a happy medium.
Sorry for the long post. Thank you in advance :)

2023.06.05 06:38 hulloworld24 Should I upgrade apartments ($1500 —> $2k) if I can afford it?

27 M single. Currently paying $1500 for a pretty bare minimum 1 bedroom. Only amenity is on-site parking included pretty much. I’m thinking about moving to a nicer place (looking at Kirkland) with more amenities (pool, hot tub, gym, balcony, etc.) but the cost is about $2k for a 1 bedroom. I can certainly afford $2k for rent but I feel guilty spending an extra $500 a month on living expenses when I’m doing fine at my current place. I would like to retire in my early 40s, so that has me in the mindset to cut costs as much as possible. I feel like most people spend at least $2k a month on rent, but I’m just being a baby about paying more. WhT are your thoughts?

2023.06.05 06:37 Pitiful_Situation724 Surviving not living

I’m 25 years old and I feel like my life is going no where. I feel like the harder I try to better my life the worse it gets. I currently have 2 jobs and I’m still technically homeless. My mom is letting me stay with her for now but she constantly reminds me that I need to move out. I make $13/hr at my “full time” job but it isn’t really full time hours because the duties of the job won’t allow me to stay the whole 8hrs. The managers literally tell you to do your job then rush you off the clock after about 4-5hrs. My second job is $12.50/hr 3 days a week. Between both jobs I only make about $1500 after taxes. Where I live the average rent for a 1 bedroom is between $800-$1200/month, and you need to make 3x the rent to even qualify. I remember just going on faith and applying for an apartment and the apartment manager laughed in my face. I’ve been struggling financially my whole life and I just don’t see things getting better at all. I have no desire to go back to school because I can’t pay for it at all. I have 2 trades but I’m not interested in using either one of them because I haven’t had any luck in either one of them. I just want to give up. I have no one in my life who really understands. My family is horrible and they treat my horrible also. They just throw it in my face that I’m a failure at every family gathering I just don’t go to anything anymore. I’ve never done anything wrong or bad to anyone and idk why my life is so terrible. I stay to myself all I do is work or think about how to make more money. I don’t even make enough to feed myself. I just want to be set free and done with life. 😔🖤

2023.06.05 06:25 ShortNerdyOne Explaining How Teachers Don't Get Paid in the Summer Using Simple(ish) Math

TLDR on bottom.
There are some things to understand that people find very confusing about pay for teachers. They are NOT paid for days they don't work. They don't get paid holidays or breaks. The only time they get a paid for a day they aren't at work is if they're using a PTO, of which they get very little. To explain:
The way the contract works is that teachers are paid a day rate. So, to make it simple, I'm going to say that a teacher gets hired to work 180 days of the school year at $100/day. This makes their yearly income $18,000. Again, using these numbers on purpose to make the math easy. They're not realistic.
Different districts in different places will divide out that $18,000 in different ways. Some places let you choose to get paid only the 10 months you work, telling you to set aside money to pay bills in the summer. Most places have stopped doing that, though, because it's more work for them. So, instead, that teacher will get a set amount every month, even in the summer, of $18,000/12 or $1500 a month.
So, let's say this teacher gets 5 PTO days. Then let's say the teacher discovers a lump. They spend those 5 days going to appointments, getting tests done, then having follow-up appointments. Well, those 5 days are completely used up and they just got word that they do, in fact, have cancer.
They find this out in January, so the doctor says they have to take January, February, and March off because chemo is the plan and no immune system around kids is not good (not to mention the side affects). Ok, so....
In January, they would normally work 20 days, which is $2,000 of earned income. That is the $100 a day x 20 days. But the paycheck they would've gotten was for $1500. $500 of that paycheck was supposed to go to the summer months, but they lost all $2,000. They're $500 in the hole.
In February, same thing. Now they are $1,000 in the hole.
In March, there's spring break, so they were only supposed to work 15 days anyway, so it works out to break even.
They return in April, but now they owe $1,000. What does the district do? I worked at one district where they made the teacher write them a check for the missing amount plus their part of the premium for their health insurance since there was no paycheck for them to take it from, making the check equivalent to a whole month's income while they've earned $0 the last 3 months.
However, the most common thing is that they evenly take out from the rest of your checks. In this case, April's-August's checks would all be $200 less than before they had cancer, making them only $1300.
This puts it in perspective when teachers in Detroit had a "sick out" in 2016 because the district said they won't give them paychecks for June on. Those paychecks were for days/hours those teachers already worked.
TLDR: Using smaller numbers to make the math easy, if a teacher got cancer and couldn't work for 3 months starting in January while contracted to earn $18,000 a year, the most likely scenario is that they'd get:
September $1500 October $1500 December $1500 January: $0 February $0 March $0 April $1300 May $1300 June $1300 July $1300 August $1300
