2023.05.29 21:36 Polifem The Bangkok show was a cathartic experience
EDIT:
filler picture so Reddit doesn't show my FUCKING CRYING FACE AS A THUMBNAIL LOL Oh well, here we go again.
You know something has rattled your soul to the core when you suddenly feel an urge to go make a bazillion character post on Reddit. I've been to more than a dozen BM shows at this point, but
only once have I felt the urge to post something like this before. Today, my dear kitsune-tachi, is the second time.
The dust after Bangkok show has settled, I'm completely emotionally drained, and overcharged at the same time. This was hands down one of the very best BM concerts I've attended. To be completely honest this is easily top 3 right after LMG and Helsinki (ok this one's odd so I'll quickly explain: this was the show where I was center barrier in a tiniest of venues with a stage so low and so close to the barrier, it seemed that the band was playing just for me in my living room, and I didn't even notice the dead crowd until I heard other hardcore fans in the pit ranting about it right after the show). Actually, not even "right after", but "alongside". It felt so good.
The circumstances of me getting to the show are batshit insane so I'll definitely give you that context. I've been monitoring flight prices for Bangkok for 2-3 months before, and they have always fluctuated around 1k USD for a roundtrip from Moscow (where I live). So on may 25th, at 11:00 pm in the evening, just for the sake of it I decide to check how much would it cost to fly to Bangkok the very next day. And I see a roundtrip flight through Manama, Bahrain, departing from DME on the 26th at 16:10, at 550$. The lowest price I've seen in many months. I frantically check the availability of show tickets. They are all available including VIP!! Well... Then there was a night of booking various things and packing my shit, and then an absolutely insane morning at work where I had to sort everything out in 3 hours to ensure my unavailability until Tuesday morning wouldn't negatively impact the company in any way until I had to leave for the airport at like ~12 pm.
I'm so glad I followed that urge to JUST GO. I wouldn't have even beat myself over it if I didn't, but it's really funny to think that there is another Polifem in a parallel universe somewhere who decided to go to bed instead of checking ticket prices, having absolutely no clue that he could've got an insane charge of positive energy for many months to come... And could've been sitting after the show with a bunch of Thai fans with a beer in hand, speaking no common language but vibing in the exact same emotional register with them. AND I'M SO HAPPY I'M NOT HIM!
So, how was the show itself?
Well. Funny how some things are totally different in an actual live environment compared to recordings, both pro-shot, and fancams. For example, we meme about Distortion constantly (including myself), but there's nothing more fun than shouting Alissa's lines and Wowowow's during C&R on top of your lungs at a concert. You can meme all you want about "worst setlist" if it has Distortion in it, but it's actually this song that will get your voice completely fucked at a show. Or gimme chocolate. Yeah, it's old, and hardcore fans are sick and tired of it, however, have you tried to jump as high as you can during the chorus following the exact rhythm of a snare drum? Try that at home, you're gonna be surprised. You'll instinctively be doing it live, and it's hella fun. Also it's great that the full instrumental mute is back in RoR for the smaller shows. The fact that it wasn't there in the 2019-2020 US/EU tour was really disappointing, this has always been a moment of great unification between the fans and the band, good thing that they now do it not only in Japan.
The whole setlist was an absolute fire, which was the general consensus right after Jakarta show, so I kinda knew what I was getting when booking tickets (I STILL can't believe how fucking crazy is that. I actually watched the fancam of the entire Jakarta show at home having absolutely no idea I'll actually be at the very next show in 3 days in person LOL š), but some things I already mentioned above, and some things about to be mentioned, still surprised me. Here are some highlights:
1) I really loved that both the opening and ending songs were BMD and IDZ respectively, since they hold a very special place in my heart. I've always wanted to hear BMD live ever since that first barrage of sound on the Wembley blu-ray, which completely and irreversibly punched me into the fox hole, and it really did rattle my bones live like hell. IDZ is simply my favourite song by BM and having it close the show was something truly inspiring.
2) I also considered GREAT the lack of stupid lore at the end. Having girls themselves say goodbye felt a lot more human and the show itself felt a lot more complete. All they did is said a couple of kind words, thanked for coming, asked how was the show, bowed, and left after saying goodbye in thai. But the impact of that felt really different from the usual lore shenanigans, and it was a lot more fulfilling.
3) Fucking Anthony Barone, why are you so good? Honestly his drumming brings so much energy and brutal vibe to the show, you cannot even properly deal with it. There was a fill, I think in iine of all things, which made my mind completely shut down and go "WHHAAAAT?!" He's the GOAT and his style suits this band immensely.
4) New costumes fit the girls really nicely and look gorgeous live. Lighting had a great production as well which enhanced that feeling. I actually think that the high quality video will be able to convey the full awesomeness of their costumes, so when the BD of the Clear Night gets released, everyone will have a chance to properly look at them.
5) They considerably upped their game with the video footage. I thought to myself that the screen is finally helping the experience instead of tampering with the flow of the show. Kami did get lost again, but the ladies looked amazing with the footage behind them, especially in MAYA, IDZ (the thumbs up moment in front of the starry sky was really amazing), and PA PA YA with fire and shit.
6) Speaking of... Well, I cannot just say nothing about PA PA YA here, can I? It's the biggest elephant in the room in this show after all. One big, charismatic, rapping Thai elephant in a magnificent red coat with a towel in his hand. AND IT WAS HEAT!!! Well first of all, the amount of towels in the first few rows (I was center in the 3rd row) was as many as you could've hoped for. Second of all, F.Hero was unbelievably lively and charismatic. He drowned the entire hall with his energy! Girls were having the time of their lives as well, they seemed very relaxed, it was obvious they didn't really rehearse his feat and improvised on the go, and that actually made the whole thing really special. Honestly, I recommend you go watch some fancams of his cameo, you'll get it.
7) The high kick in BxMxC instead of the usual ponytail headbang by Su really deserves its own honorable mention. When she just brutally kicked the air almost higher than her own height, it was obvious that no, they didn't actually get tired on the long tour with Sabaton. You don't do shit like this when you're off your game.
8) There were a couple of technical hiccups during the encore, particularly with Su. They had her backtrack stand out too much during one moment in MK (not nearly on the level of Kagerou in Moscow, but it was still visible), and also forgot to switch her mic on in the opening notes of IDZ so the first "rururu"s weren't there at all, which is a shame, she always sings those so softly, you really feel the moment. But oh well, it's a live show, shit happens. The sound overall was REALLY good though in this venue, even though Su was drowned out at times. And I say it while I stood at the front, I imagine it was even better near the sound desk.
However, all this time I was tiptoeing around the biggest highlight of the show for me. The thing that actually made Bangkok a cathartic experience. FUCKING MONOCHROME HOLY SHIT. It's a godlike, transcendental experience. Su sings it with such a passion, the song itself has such a good structure, beautiful melody, gorgeous passionate choreography, it's one of the very best things this band has ever released. A true classic. And live... It's just on another plane of existence. Unity, tranquility, some kind of emotional rebirth, you feel it all.
Here's my face right after it finished. I just cried the entire song starting from the first chorus. I've only ever had a cathartic experience of this magnitude once in my life: during the intro to IDZ at LMG-2. And this feeling and memory of hearing Monochrome live for the first time will also be locked firmly in my mind until I die. This is simply inevitable.
Honestly everything just CLICKED for this show. The spontaneity with which I went to the show; availability of VIP tickets which allowed me to be at the front; great venue with amazing sound; absolute FIRE of a setlist, the best in years; unique performance of PA PA YA!!; energy of the crowd (at least where I was); and the band itself which is no doubt on top of their game right now. But what made it click isn't really the combination of all these points, but rather the single and indivisible pile of positive energy they helped to shape inside my soul during this amazing weekend.
I'm now sitting in Bahrain on my layover before flying back home. I feel surprisingly calm and focused. I don't feel like I really need more, and I'm not sad everything is over so quickly. Not at all. I'm just fully charged and feel completely rested and at peace. I want to go back to work, work hard, be better version of myself. And then, hopefully in half a year, I'll see them again. Fingers crossed.
NOTHING I have experienced in this life has EVER affected me emotionally stronger than a BABYMETAL show. I don't know why. Everything inside me just turns upside down, I gasp for air, I want to live, breathe, and experience, sparing no expense whatsoever. We truly live in a greatest of timelines. One in which BABYMETAL, having started as, let's be honest here, a quirky experiment and somewhat of a joke (albeit a really smart one) just stubbornly refuses to fall into obscurity and oblivion, and continues to improve for TWELVE YEARS ALREADY, while having 3 out of 4 founding members still going strong (obviously I include Koba in this equation). And the addition of Momoko as a full member will do wonders for them, I'm absolutely sure of it.
I really wish for everyone to have something in their lives with the same level of emotional engagement as we do with BABYMETAL. The world might become a better place. Otherwise, why would you even wanna live?

2023.05.29 20:52 trashytacos Wearing glasses on concert/competition/audition?
Hi:) I have a bit of a weird question for all of you. Iām a pianist (women) and my sight is not very great. I always practice with my glasses on and feel comfortable wearing them when performing (I donāt like contact lenses). A few years ago a professor told me I shouldnāt play at exams/concerts/competitions with my glasses on, because it was considered informal. Now Iāve a different professor and I ask her if I could do an upcoming audition with my glasses on. She told me that there isnāt any valid reason why I shouldnāt wear my glasses and that the other professor was just being sexist⦠Because there is the stereotype that women with glasses are considered less attractive. What she told me really made sense but left me wondering, has anyone had a similar experience or knows why glasses are āinformalā according to some?

2023.05.29 20:52 Cheap-Ad8624 A Successful Kpop Agenda āØ
I thought this might amuse some people so I wanted to make a thread about successful kpop ⨠agendas ⨠of introducing it to friends and family.
My biggest unintentional, and most wholesome, convert is my mother. I am 30 and she is 58 and we went away on a holiday together recently after I saw ATEEZās show in Brussels, when she asked to see some videos of the concert because she wanted to understand why I liked it so much. Now, my mother likes pop such as Take That and The Script. So I said to her that perhaps ATEEZ wasnāt the best intro for her and Iād show her an English song instead so she could at least understand the lyrics to start off. I showed her Butter and Dynamite and oh my days. This woman was obsessed. The guitar part in Butter put her in an instant chokehold.
At first she was a bit unsure with other songs because the genre/rhythm changes and rapping in kpop is unusual compared to western music, but once she realised she could expect that she really liked it. Her favourite song became Idol by BTS, and she loved songs like Mic Drop and Fire.
At this point I was like š¤ she clearly enjoys music that sounds perhaps a bit more hype or aggressive than I imagined she would. So perhaps now sheās used to the sound we can give ATEEZ a try? I first showed her Eternal Sunshine and she was a goner instantly. She found it so cute, audibly gasped at how pretty Seonghwa is, and was ready to adopt Hongjoong on the spot. I introduced her to more songs and her first favourites were Eternal Sunshine, Say My Name, Promise, Rocky and The Real. Weāve watched the DVDs of both Fellowship and Break The Wall tour together and she is so in love.
Now whatās most wholesome about this is that we live in a pretty small village and my mum doesnāt really have any hobbies that she enjoys. Itās been so nice to see her excited and enthusiastic about something, and have something we can enjoy together!
She also really likes Xikers and Enhypen. Thereās a concert in Madrid in July that has Shinee, ATEEZ, Enhypen, xikers, Cravity, IVE and StayC performing and Iāve got tickets to take her there. Thereās a small chance I canāt go, in which case my dad will take her. She was so happy when I bought the tickets that she cried šā¤ļøš„¹.
TLDR: my mum is the sweetest kpop fan and is gonna get to see her faves soon, and thereās a small chance my dad is gonna see Shinee before I do š
Would love to hear any wholesome stories of you guys sharing your kpop love successfully with people!

2023.05.29 18:23 middleeasternviking 29 [M4F] Nerdy army guy looking for someone I can grow old with
Hi! I'm 29M and seeking a long-term partner I can love for the rest of my life and grow old with.
I'm a pharmaceutical manager for my day job + a healthcare officer for the Canadian Army Reserve on the side. I have a Master's Degree in Biotech and an Undergrad in Neuroscience. Some of my interests include traveling, photography (especially astro-photography), painting, cars, cooking (especially low carb meals), hiking, camping, mountain biking, swimming, mixed martial arts (MMA), basketball, horseriding, reading (I'm a voracious reader, especially of science fiction, horror, and fantasy - huge Potterhead here; I'm a Ravenclaw for the record), and spending time in nature. I'm also spiritual and identify as Muslim, though I'm not the most practicing at times. I'm trilingual, speaking English, Pashto (my mothertongue), and Urdu fluently (I also studied Arabic in university for a bit, and I used to be fluent in French growing up but I kinda lost it). I love animals, including both cats and dogs, but I would say I'm ultimately more of a cat person. I am an introspective person, and enjoy learning skills to make myself useful as well as a better person overall. I have a really silly sense of humor lol but I really only open up after some time, since I'm pretty introverted. My favourite types of music include jazz, lofi, hip-hop (particularly R&B in the genre of Sade, The Weeknd, Majid Jordan etc. as well as old-school rap like Blackstar, KRS-One, Tribe Called Quest etc.), reggaeton (Bad Bunny and Maluma), and afrobeats (I really like Burna Boy). I've never really been much of a concert-going person though.
If I was to give a presentation without any preparation, I could do it on the following topics: neuroscience, biotechnology, pharmacoeconomics, the healthcare industry, mental health, nutrition and cooking, longevity science, organic chemistry, military doctrine, religion (especially Islam), basketball, mixed martial arts, Sufism, cat breeds, sports cars, Harry Potter, vampires, epistemology, Canadian and American history/politics (I lean liberal), and Islamic history.
Some of my goals in future: to attend medical school (hopefully through the military), become a neurologist, work on novel therapeutics to help patients suffering from neurological disorders like epilepsy, to learn to fly a plane, and to potentially try to become an astronaut. Also, to have kids, own a house, and maybe keep a cat (or dog).
My love languages include touch and words of affirmation, but especially touch (I am huge on cuddling). I'm looking for someone who can understand me (and vice versa for me), who would be interested in making a life with me for the long haul.

2023.05.29 09:29 The_Legends_13 Well.................We did it.
I don't remember how many of these had I posted, I think it was 3 or somewhere near that. All of these including this one is now leading into an end.
In case you don't know, I am part of a top ensemble known as DSA Singers in DSA, Las Vegas. Throughout the whole school year, we've been trying to complete our goal, which is to perform in Carnegie Hall in New York City. It is a fantastic thing that we actually made it. Besides, we were invited to perform there because of our choir teacher's relations with someone who is involve in that one concert in NYC.
We'd already covered the cost of the trip and now we are rehearsing the songs for the concert. The theme is Asian and Pacific Islander. Some of them are easy to memorize, at least for me. My class is set to rehearse this week before we head to the airport and then the city.
I will be completely honest, the 22-23 school year has hit me in the stomach mentally. I don't know why, but in truth, literally the classmates and the teacher I've been with has inspired me to do something. I haven't told them yet, but I'm planning to. Since the beginning of 2023, I asked myself "Should I write a story about us?" I was very hesitant to answer that because of many things. One of which, is a very big deal: It will break my heart if I start to type the first letter. Seriously, I'm believing to think that the whole class, DSA Singers, are some of the best people I've ever met. Really, I've met and befriended wonderful people that somehow changed my viewpoints on certain categories and I will surely miss them. Right now, I'm one of a few who will become a senior while others are becoming either juniors or sophomores and others have already graduated yet they can come to NYC because they're part of it too. I wish I can go over more details on how I feel and how am I going lay it out, but let's just save that for the upcoming story (if I ever do it, anyway I know I'm the only one in the class that can do this, I'm a story writer after all.)
So yeah, exactly 8 days from now, the whole DSA Singers and me are going to New York City, to make history for our program, our school, and a time that we'll probably remember for the rest of our lives. I will say that I'm glad I got to spend awesome time with those people, even though it won't last forever obviously, I will still find ways to honor it, even if it means to write a 200-page book. In fact, if I could, maybe I can write an entire journal, bit by bit in here, about my upcoming senior year, with my personal goal already in place. I won't tell what it is yet, but later I will (I think). We did it.

| The queens walk back into the werkroom after Tempest's elimination. https://preview.redd.it/u3amnqyg1p2b1.png?width=364&format=png&auto=webp&s=9155a63a034c044c1d56f5666e378e5e196cf250 Monica talks about how happy she is to walk back into the werkroom after the first elimination and know that she wasn't the one to have gotten the chop. The queens then all gather around and Tempest's mirror message as Akashia reads it to the group. Akashia mentions that she was really shocked to have landed in the bottom and that it is a tough feeling to know that you could likely be sent packing after working so hard to make it to Drag Race. Monica tells the girls that she feels for Tempest because she knows how hard it is to be sent home first and that it can really throw off your confidence. Robbie mentions that Tempest is still a great queens just for making it this far and that it just wasn't her crown to win. The queens then congratulate Orion on winning the first challenge. Orion thanks them and asks if they all agreed with her win because she knows that some of the queens had looks on their faces when she turned around to meet them at the back of the stage. Kandy opens up and talks about how she was pretty shocked about all the queens in the top but that at the end of the day it was only the first challenge. https://preview.redd.it/ic7862rc3p2b1.png?width=372&format=png&auto=webp&s=c9205f0100c7e1d4f6a7e268ecb716bda7019fe1 In her confessional, Kandy talks about how she isn't intimidated by Orion winning the first challenge because she doesn't see her having Superstar quality. The queens start to separate and go through their de-dragging processes. Elliott talks with Rock about how she can see the divide already starting in the group and that there are girls that are probably used to getting nothing but praise so not being on the receiving end of that has probably shook them. THE NEXT DAY The queens reenter the werkroom and talk about what they think will be coming their way. https://preview.redd.it/9394wevp4p2b1.png?width=366&format=png&auto=webp&s=38937b6c4496b3e915bc3ead1bc3db216b3e26c3 In her confessional, Akashia mentions that she is ready to kill this next week because they won't be seeing her in the bottom anymore. The queens all gather around the table and discuss the upcoming challenge. Elliott jokes that they have to make sure that Kandy wins the next challenge or she is going to take out her frustration on all the girls they all laugh at this before being interrupted by their RuMail. Following Ru's message, RuPaul and Andy Cohen enter the werkroom and gag all the queens. https://preview.redd.it/3id7n9tw5p2b1.jpg?width=2376&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4909e649a6c2f52d8cb6144581b7991dfa6fb464 Ru and Andy tell the girls about the mini challenge. They explain that they will be getting into quick drag and having a good old fashioned ho' down! tells the queens that she thinks they all look great and that she is happy to have met them all. The queens all rush off to get into quick drag before taking their turn one-by-one to strut their stuff in the ho' down. Andy and Ru have a good time watching each of the queens perform, it's clear that there are some dancers in the group while others will struggle. After all the queens have performed Ru and Andy announce that the winners of the mini challenge are... - - - - - - - - https://preview.redd.it/yjilmrry9p2b1.png?width=680&format=png&auto=webp&s=75f505f03da796fd2d871006c4f03e2e07716d63 Marcia Marcia Marcia and Jade! Following this, RuPaul tells the queens about their next maxi challenge. She tells the queens that for their next maxi-challenge they will be performing in a parody musical entitled PharmaRusical based on the pharmaceutical ads that run on television! She goes on to say that they will be working in two teams and that Marcia Marcia Marcia and Jade will be the team leaders as a prize for winning the mini challenge. They choose their teams as follows: Team Marcia Team Jade When the choices are down to Honey and Jaymes we can see that neither queen is particularly happy with being left to the end. Jade chooses Honey for her team and then Ru asks Jaymes who's team she'd like to join to which she chooses Marcia's. https://preview.redd.it/qh9cduo8ip2b1.png?width=364&format=png&auto=webp&s=dd7fd76c8e8e4937a80c53a1d39ba1f98fe0e4cf In her confessional Jaymes laments on none of the queens wanting to choose her for their team that the other queens are making a mistake in underestimating her. Ru then leaves the teams to start preparing for their performances. PREPARATIONS FOR MAIN CHALLENGE When Ru leaves the werkroom, the queens separate into their groups to begin working on their performances. We see Marcia sit her team down. She talks to them about how excited she is for this challenge given her background with theater and dance. Marcia has her team to listen to the entire performance before they start to think about how they will divide up the roles. When Kandy and Rock both ask for the same role, Marcia decides to solve the issue by giving it to Kerri. https://preview.redd.it/sq4k0m8zmq2b1.png?width=366&format=png&auto=webp&s=b2f21269c5391be2caa571e79af84826e55e66fd In her confessional, Kerri laughs about how she wasn't trying to get into the middle of the disagreement even though she also secretly wanted the role as well. On the other side of the werkroom, Jade works with her team with their roles for the rusical. Monica mentions that she refuses to take a role she doesn't want this time around because it didn't work out well for her last season. Elliott asks her what that means for the other girls if they happen to want the same role as her to which Monica responds by saying that she isn't backing down. Jade mentions that she is the team leader and feels she should get the final say in situations like that. Before the queens can really get into what roles they all want, Jade doles them all out. https://preview.redd.it/yiu59rp2nq2b1.png?width=372&format=png&auto=webp&s=21a69cfcc399b547ec2f92f1ffc3d1d8902cc0e7 Jan mentions that it's ok that Jade is their team leader but that she thinks it would've worked better if she actually got some input from the girls about what they wanted to do. RuPaul then enters the werkroom to check in on both of the teams. She starts her check in with Marcia's team. She talks to Marcia about what made her choose the queens she did. Marcia mentions that she watched them all in the ho' down and felt like her group is the perfect mix of performance talent and comedic talent. Ru then asks the queens how they have been getting on and how much they have prepared. Akashia mentions that she thinks this is the winning team because they are the team with talent. Ru points out that Robbie hasn't said much and Robbie admits that she doesn't think the team has been taking into account all of the queen's perspectives, Marcia looks confused by this. Ru urges them to work closely together if they want to come out on top. When Ru moves on to Jade's team she starts by mentioning to Monica that she went home on the previous season in a group challenge and asks her how she plans to stand out this time around. Monica tells her that she has a role that works for her this time around and that she will definitely not be playing a cheerleader. They both laugh about this. Ru then mentions to Orion that she won the previous challenge and asks her how she is going to keep up the momentum with other queens who have shown to be strong dancers in her group. Orion mentions that she still has tricks up her sleeve that she didn't show off in the first week nor in the mini challenge so she is feeling confident with where she stands. Ru ends by talking with Honey about being the last queen chosen for her team to which Honey laughs it off by saying that at least she was chosen and that she isn't going to let her team down. The girls then go out to the main stage for their choreography rehearsal with Drag Race legend from Season 3 and All Stars 1, Alyssa Edwards! https://preview.redd.it/7pco8ey5lq2b1.jpg?width=2346&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8a506f41b304cd70094358e6a2c82f3a24e5df81 She works with Jade's group first. She is impressed that they have some choreography worked out already but mentions that there are some girls that are clearly taking the spotlight while others aren't bringing it. Alyssa spends most of her time working with Honey, Orion, and Monica. She even mentions to Monica that she wants her to really bring it this season to prove that Ru was right to bring her back. https://preview.redd.it/h9efe7r3nq2b1.png?width=364&format=png&auto=webp&s=09f9bd3f7d3bc7b4e0b5c0f6e53ff20f3777a129 Jade mentions that she is watching these girls and all she can think is that they better not screw it up for them and cost them the challenge. Alyssa has a smoother rehearsal with the second group, though she starts off ragging on them for bringing nothing to the rehearsal. Marcia admits that they wanted to focus on other things since they knew there would be a choreographer. Jaymes is shown really struggling through the rehearsal as is Kandy and Robbie. Unlike Jaymes, Robbie gets defensive with Alyssa and comes up with excuses about why she was missing the steps. It is clear that it bothers the other girls in her group but they don't outwardly address it. At the end of their rehearsal, Alyssa lets them know that they still have some work to do and that she thinks they need to make sure that they bring the theatrics to the performance. PHARMARUSICAL PERFORMANCE RuPaul takes to the runway and welcomes everyone to the main stage and introduces the guest judges Halsey and Padma Lakshmi. She explains that the queens will be putting on a lip sync extravaganza entitled Pharmarusical! https://preview.redd.it/58w7b2652r2b1.jpg?width=2472&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=1f306c38f8807400351deac423bc0b112daa8fd8 Following Ru's introduction, the rusical begins! https://preview.redd.it/43baobxriq2b1.jpg?width=2480&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=10b9b6955f8a75ae59f8dae574fdce01802422f4 Jade's team kicks off the performance. During the opening, Jade does a great job as the lab technician and we see each queen have a small solo. Orion trips over her lip sync while Honey moves awkwardly. They then start the Badonkadonk section. It's high energy and once again, Jade kills it as does Elliott with the twerking that takes place in this section. The next portion focuses on Flaccida, and in this section Monica is pretty funny along with Jan who has the solo. Their next song is Trollvada and opens with a rap done by Orion and once again she flubs many of her words. Honey comes in with her older character but she doesn't sell it well and her solo doesn't really land. The next team then takes the stage with their opening number to Conflama. Akashia and Kerri do a great job opening this number and it seems all the queens have gotten the choreography down. They then do their number to Swallowease. Marcia does a great fairy godmother and Jaymes is hilariously flailing along on the ground. They move on to their Drag Mouth section and they are all shown having a lot of fun with the number. Kandy misses some of the dance steps but it is covered up by the other girls in the group. Robbie does a great job in this number before turning it over to Rock who has a solo in the closing number. Kandy and Rock are hilarious in the anal option closing. VERY BEST DRAG RUNWAY Following the rusical, the girls walk in a sped up runway presentation of their very best drag looks. Kerri, Kandy, Orion, Rock, Monica, and Jaymes have really strong looks for this category. JUDGING RuPaul announces starts judging by saying that they will be judged in teams. She goes on to say that... - - - - - - - - - - - Team Marcia Marcia Marcia is the winning team! Ru then says that there is one team member who really stole the show. - - - - - - - - - https://preview.redd.it/gjmvgzf26r2b1.png?width=340&format=png&auto=webp&s=a7162f3c7517ebba1048dda3d35ca516f8a902ca Marcia Marcia Marcia is the challenge winner! https://preview.redd.it/fsbt4je46r2b1.png?width=366&format=png&auto=webp&s=af014804d6a2e530d47e2940e8687b07c948cccb Marcia mentions that she is gagged and that after winning both the mini challenge and the maxi challenge she definitely feels like she's the one to beat. Ru tells the group that they did a great job once again before telling them that they may all go backstage. The critiques then begin. https://preview.redd.it/bhbqa3x52r2b1.jpg?width=2828&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5dbc108fe2e4531602773757920e2a63739e0a7a Michelle starts with Jade and talks about how she felt she did a really strong job in the challenge and was one of the standouts for her. Halsey agrees and says that she could tell that Jade was at home on stage and that she is a queen that will sell out a venue. Ross moves on to Orion and tells her that she looks great but that it was clear that she struggled with her lyrics. He tells her that it really took him out of the performance that she didn't know the words. Halsey tells her that Orion didn't do the best job at covering her weaker areas and that she felt like she instead put them on full display. Ross then talks to Honey and tells her that her performance really was lacking for him. He goes on to say that she faded to the background and that when she finally got the spotlight it was as if she didn't know what to do with it. Padma Lakshmi tells her that she thinks that she thinks that Honey is so regal but that she was so timid in her performance that it didn't match the fact that she had a solo. Michelle then talks with Elliott and tells her that she really knows how to perform and that she enjoyed watching her. She mentions, however, that she isn't a fan of her runway look and doesn't think that it is possibly her 'best drag'. Halsey tells her that she had a fire in her when she performed and that she thinks that is the kind of thing that is going to take her far in her career. Michelle tells Monica that she looks great but that she really wanted to see more fight from her in the performance. She goes on to say that since Monica was given a second chance at this competition that she should be performing circles around the other queens whenever she can and that unfortunately she didn't. Padma Lakshmi tells her that she didn't have as much of an issue with her performance as Michelle but that she agrees that there was more she could've done to polish her dancing. Ross ends the critiques with Jan and tells her that she had a solid performance in the rusical and that he wants to know what it is that is going to make Jan memorable because while she did well it wasn't something that necessarily wowed him. Padma Lakshmi tells her that she actually really enjoyed what she did in the challenge and that she had a lot of really strong moments. Ru then sends the queens to the back while the judges deliberate. - - - - - - - - - The queens return from untucking backstage. RuPaul then goes on to announce her decisions. She announces that.... - - - - - - - - - Jade, Elliott and Jan are all safe. She then speaks to Honey, Monica and Orion. She announces that Monica Beverly Hillz is safe. She thanks the judges and walks to the back to join the other queens. Honey Mahogany and Orion Story are in the bottom two and up for elimination. Both queens look determinedly towards the judges. https://preview.redd.it/ppubf9ixbp2b1.png?width=620&format=png&auto=webp&s=b49139b471e3399a43126ee86bf37768c490b52b https://preview.redd.it/hpxgaiuszo2b1.png?width=364&format=png&auto=webp&s=2f7aba27e3815165357a9cd9bb83b8ab9df98bcd Honey mentions that she loves Orion and thinks she's great but that at the end of the day she has more to show so she won't be going home. https://preview.redd.it/incb2cntzo2b1.png?width=366&format=png&auto=webp&s=a3df9de5a5529316c19d445aaa7e37feb9709dc2 Orion says that she didn't see herself falling all the way to the bottom in just a week but that this just isn't her time to go yet. RuPaul announces that the time has come for them to lip sync for their lives. They had to prepare a lip-sync performance to the song Best of My Love by The Emotions. Good luck and don't FUCK it up! The lip-sync is...interesting! Neither queen is really able to connect with the vibe of the song as they both seem to be performing a different number other than the song. Honey moves awkwardly on stage and Orion even performs an ill-timed split. Orion takes an edge in the performance as she seems to have a bit more passion in her performance than Honey. The lip sync ends and RuPaul announces... Orion Story... shantay you stay Honey Mahogany... sashay away The queens clap for Honey as she departs the main stage and delivers her exit line. 12 Queens Remain... 2023.05.29 05:55 Greedy-War-4506 Upcoming concert in BC Place stadium
My 26 year old son is deaf in one if his ears, has anxiety and is a bigger guy. He just attended the Luke Combs concert this past weekend in BC Place and had a major anxiety attack. He had to leave the venue altogether. He sat outside and listened to the rest of concert by himself as he didnt want to inconvenience his friends. He told me that the echo from the music totally reverbed in his head and he couldn't fit in the seats comfortably and he felt claustrophobic. We are.attending the Coldplay concert at BC Place in September. I don't want him to have another melt down, any suggestions? Only helpful folks need reply. Thanks

2023.05.29 00:14 cityflaneur2020 Is it common to overhear conversations while jnder general anesthesia?
The title. I felt zero pain and discomfort, and the conversation I had came back as a dream with missing parts. But what I recounted to the doctor made him surprised enough to call the anesthesiologist to hear my story. I told them talking about Copa America, an upcoming concert and that at some point a Colombian guy arrived with a heavy accent, they all laughed, and he said goodbye. The anesthesiologist almost hit the ceiling, because throughout I was perfectly 'down and out' and was not supposes to hear anything, let alone that level of detail. They even mentioned the Colombian guy entered and left while I was fully aneathesized.
Is it a common accurance? Anything to avoid this? To me it wasn't a bother, didn't cause anxiety, it was really like a vivid dream.
I was then 17F, going for breast reduction surgery, no medication of health matters, healthy BMI, first anesthesia ever, bing operated on in Brazil.
I don't know if it's worth mentioning, but I took phenobarbital until I was 7, then was cleared, had deja-vu all my teenage years, and the stress of the pandemic made me have epilepsy, tonicāclonics, all under control now. Just thought I should mention in case it could have something to do with the anesthesia.
Also, I was in an excellent hospital with am experienced anesthesiologist .

2023.05.28 23:44 Derman0524 Iāve been asked to DJ a pool party at my student apartment complex but I only have techno, house and trance and some Nu Disco. How fucked am I?
Hey everyone, so I live at a student accommodation and thereās a pool in the courtyard. I made it aware that Iām a DJ to management for upcoming events and they reached out to me to DJ their pool party for the entire apartment complex.
The problem, is I have pretty distinct music ranging from techno, house, trance and nu disco.
I live in Canada where peopleās tastes seem to lean towards hip hop/rap and general pop. I donāt have any of that music and Iām not interested in trying to download whatever Taylor swift song thatās popular atm.
I was thinking of trying to play some chill beach vibes type of deal with progressive house but I already know whatās going to happen. A girl is going to come up and ask me to play drake or Taylor swift and I wonāt have it.
How fucked am I? Should I just play some chill house stuff?
Any thoughts would be super helpful!
Edit: I canāt keep up with all the comments but I am reading them. I appreciate all the helpful comments which I truly truly appreciate. This sub is awesome and I promise to post some update pics from the event. Thanks people!

Article Format Guides / Limits
Article Length Limits Articles are limited on how many words they can have. The maximum word count is dependent on the content of the article. For example, articles about anniversaries will have the "Feature" word limit, but "Iofi is cute"-type articles will have the "Short" word limit. We probably won't be
strictly enforcing these limits, but if you're over it, don't be surprised if it gets cut down.
Feature - 230 wordsThese are articles covering the big events of the week. Examples: ⢠Anniversaries ⢠Birthdays ⢠New outfits ⢠Concerts
Important - 140 wordsArticles covering abnormal/important information. This is very much so a judgement call by the reporter and editors. If you claim an article is important and it's not obvious why, be prepared to explain. Examples: ⢠Announcements (including breaks & returns) ⢠Misc smaller celebrations/events ⢠Merch with many details ⢠Information that's personally important for a talent or fanbase
Regular - 100 wordsRegular articles that cover a reasonable amount of normal activity. Examples: ⢠Stream summaries/highlights ⢠Funny moments ⢠Business-y announcements ⢠Twitter interactions
Short - 35 wordsShort articles with very little substance/content. Examples: ⢠"Kusa" articles ⢠Funny twitter messages ⢠A single short funny moment
Space Saving Tips
If you find you're having a hard time keeping your articles within the word count limits, here's a few tips for things you can try.
1. Cut out or summarize detailsThey can make an article more interesting, but often they can be removed or explained with fewer words. This is an extreme example, but the principle can be applied on a smaller scale.
Together with Uyu, Fuma decided that he wanted to build a house in Minecraft. First they had to get materials from the forest, but they both died to creepers three times. Next, they adventured to the mines to gather stone. They got sidetracked for an hour in an abandoned mine while doing this. During the building process, Astel swooped in with flint and steel and tried to set everything on fire! Together, Fuma and Uyu were able to drive him away and save a majority of the house. They happened to die to creepers one more time after that, but they ended up with a very nice looking Japanese-style house.
š·Better:
Fuma built a Japanese-styled house with Uyu in Minecraft. Astel was opposed to this and tried to burn it down while they were working, but they finished despite the setback.
2. Remove/shorten unnecessary descriptions Ina gave Calli an illustration of her for her birthday. It features a chibi version of Calli in a spaceship flying to an unknown dimension. On the dashboard, doll versions of all of holoEN could be seen. Farther back in the cabin, Calli's scythe and alternate outfits were present.
š·Better:
For her birthday, Ina gave Calli an illustration of Chibi Calli flying a spaceship.
3. Remove opinions/funny commentaryThis example could be completely removed, and the article it's in wouldn't lose any
real information.
She looked very cute in her new outfit. Many deadbeats died (again) when it was revealed.
4. Check for duplicate information For her Anniversary Fubuki went to the office ... she met A-chan at the office.
Or
Throughout the event, she performed with Bae, Fubuki, and AkiRose. ... She performed Kirameki Rider with Bae, Fubuki, and AkiRose.
5. Use simple wordsIt's better to sound like you're talking to 5-year-olds than a walking thesaurus.
Calli extracted the confection from the adjacent pastry shop to an undisclosed location. She has prepared appropriate arrangements to consume the delicacy in the evening.
š·Better:
Calli bought a donut and brought it home. She's going to eat it tonight.
Report Format Example Finished: Pekora ER stream
Gen 3: Pekora
Pekora joins the rank of Flare, Miko, and Shishiron to slay the Tree Sentinel as soon as they leave the tutorial area in Elden Ring. It took her over 6 hours and countless attempts to defeat such a strong foe. With her new gained levels, she took on a dragon on the very next stream and annihilated both Margit and Godrick.
