I've been David for a little over a year. During our one year, we gave each other speeches of appreciation. When he was talking, he already started crying from the start. It was so touching, especially because he's normally an unemotional person. With me, he was always more emotional though since I was his soft spot. He cried every time I did and even got a bit teary eyed when I did small gestures of kindness.
Now, I'm still his soft spot. He still cries when I do and is gentle with me. However, it's just not the same anymore. His feelings aren't as intense. He isn't getting emotional from the little things anymore. He didn't cry when he gave me a touching speech on my birthday recently. He used to remember the tiniest details, but now it's less even if he still has a good memory of the things I say or do. He doesn't get as excited as he used to when we see each other.
I feel like he doesn't care about me as much anymore. I know he still cares somewhat, but it's not like before and I don't know why. I didn't do anything. We never have big arguments. I still treat him the same. He's still good to me, but like I said, it's not how it was during our first year.
I vented to my friend. She said it's normal and he's probably just gradually getting over the honeymoon phase. She said when people are together for many years, it's impossible for things to be as intense as the beginning. I said that's true, but we're only a bit past a year. Just three months ago was when he cried during our one year. I noticed after the one year things started fading. She doesn't think this is something worth possibly arguing about. I don't wanna argue with him, but I just want to confront the issue and ask what happened.

What follows here is obviously a myth, but the thing is, this story is not just a meme, but is taken seriously by many, and has a long and very real history.
Time for the story of the evil black scientist that created white people.

The story of Yakub comes from a black supremist / seperatist religious group known as the Nation of Islam (NOI). They have a paramilitary wing known as the Fruit of Islam (FOI).
​
The NOI was founded in 1930 by a white man, WD Fard. That is not his real name, as he changed his name over and over, hidding behind about 58 different aliases during his life. WD Fard is the first known source of the Yakub story. WD Fard and Elijah Muhammad were likely influenced by the Moorish Science Temple, and were possibly even members. Timothy Drew's Moorish Science Temple said that early pre-Columbian civilizations were founded by a West African Moor "named Yakub who landed on the Yucatan peninsula". WD Fard was rumored to have attempted to take over the Moorish temple, but failed, under the name David Ford-el.

It is thought that Wallace D. Fard was the same man as Wallace Dodd Ford, an inmate in San Quentin Prison. According to San Quentin records, Wallie D. Ford was born in Portland, Oregon, on February 25, 1891, the white son of Zared and Beatrice Ford, who were both born in Hawaii.
​
On August 15, 1959, the FBI sent a story to the Chicago New Crusader newspaper, stating that Fard was a "Turkish-born Nazi agent who worked for Hitler in World War II". This was refuted by the NOI, which called it propaganda and sued the news outlets that failed to check with them about running the piece.
​
WD Fard was last heard from in 1934. He was linked to the Pacific Movement of the Eastern World and Japanese agitators such as Satokata Takahashi, and Ashima Takis. This led many NOI members to express pro-Japanese sentiment and refused the draft to fight against the Japanese military, stating that they would not fight people whom they regarded as fellow members of the Original Asiatic Race.

After Fard, the NOI was headed by Elijah Muhammed.
​
Malcolm X publicly accused Elijah of "having 8 children with six different teenage girls" who "were his private secretaries."
​
Over a series of national TV interviews between 1964 and 1965, Malcolm X provided testimony of his investigation, corroboration, and confirmation by Elijah Muhammed himself of multiple counts of child rape.
​
Many people suspected that the Nation of Islam was responsible for the killing of Malcolm X. Five days after Malcolm X was murdered, in a public speech at the Nation of Islam's annual Saviours' Day on February 26, Elijah justified the assassination by quoting that "Malcolm got just what he preached", but at the same time denied any involvement with the murder by asserting in the same speech: "We didn't want to kill Malcolm and didn't try to kill him. We know such ignorant, foolish teaching would bring him to his own end".

Elijah's pro-separation views were compatible with those of some white supremacist organizations in the 1960s. He met with leaders of the Ku Klux Klan in 1961 to work toward the purchase of farmland in the Deep South. For more than ten years Elijah received major financial support from white supremacist Texas oil baron H. L. Hunt due to Elijah's belief in racial separation from whites.

The Nation of Islam's mythology states that Yakub is the biblical Jacob. Malcolm X also states that John of Patmos was also Yakub, and that the Book of Revelation refers to his deeds: "John was Yacub. John was out there getting ready to make a new race, he said, for the word of the Lord".
​
His wife’s name was Maitseye, which means “Miss Manners.” After being married Yakub and his wife started to recruit followers to take part in a special mission.
​
Yakub taught and proved that there were certain aspects of our imagination and bodies that were deliberately suppressed by leaders and the 24 elders. He taught that the freedom and peace that they were experiencing was false because they were denied knowledge of aspects of mind and body. Yakub simply knew that “if your peace could be destroyed it was not worth much.” He reasoned that the ancient people experienced peace and freedom simply because they had not experienced evil and ignorance which was suppressed by the Elders.

The name Yakub means “big head scientist”. Yakub would be known by this name until he came into the fullness of the understanding of his mission. He realizes that his mission was that of a creator, God of the non-blacks, and patriarch of the Israelites. After this realization, he would no longer be called Yakub but would be called Yahweh.
​
Yakub created white people in a eugenics "grafting" experiment, to give the evil locked inside of black people a flesh of its own.
​
The Whites where uncivilized savages at first. Moses and Jesus where both sent out to help them. Jesus created the religion of Christainity to allow Whites to take over the world. Moses taught them to walk upright, use fire, stop eating babies, etc.

Yahweh / Yakub founded Judaism:

"My children, I Yakub, your creator, greet you here on the Island of Pat-mos in the year of eight thousand five hundred and fifty. First, I shall thank you, my created people, the Albinoid people, for adhering to my rules of planned parenthood and selective breeding to bring you into existence. I am here to pass on to you my final piece of wisdom which will allow you to rule the world for 6000 years. I first envisioned creating you when I was just a boy, after the darker tribes killed my mother and father and mocked and teased me in school. The NOI says the original blacks where members of the Tribe of Shabazz. It claims that this Tribe inhabited Egypt's Nile Valley as well as the area around Mecca in the Arabian peninsula; Elijah Muhammad claimed that Mecca was the Tribe's original home and "the ONLY HOLY SPOT on our planet".

After Malcolm X split from the group, disgusted by the extremism via a change of heart in a visit to Mecca where he saw whites and blacks pray together in the Sunni Muslim religion, he denounced violence and said the revolution could be bloodless, and accept whites as brothers. Malcolm X was murdered. The new head of the group, Louis Farrakhan, hinted strongly that he had something to do with the murder plot.

Qubilah Shabazz, the daughter of Malcolm X and Betty Shabazz, was arrested on January 12, 1995 accused of conspiracy to assassinate Farrakhan in retaliation for the murder of her father, for which she believed he was responsible.
​
Many, including Malcolm X's family, have accused Farrakhan of being involved in the plot to assassinate Malcolm X. For many years, Betty Shabazz, the widow of Malcolm X, harbored resentment toward the Nation of Islam—and Farrakhan in particular—for what she felt was their role in the assassination of her husband.
​
During a 1994 interview, Gabe Pressman asked Shabazz whether Farrakhan "had anything to do" with Malcolm X's death. She replied: "Of course, yes. Nobody kept it a secret. It was a badge of honor. Everybody talked about it, yes".
​
Farrakhan played a key role in getting two of the country's largest gangs, the Bloods and the Crips, to sign a ceasefire in May 1992.
​
Farrakhan had also organized the Million Man March through Washington DC in 1995 which united a range of African American groups to counter negative portrayals of black manhood; it was the largest black demonstration in U.S.
​
In conflict with the white US Government, the NOI made intelligence connections. Gamal Abdel Nasser, Muammar Gaddafi, and Saddam Hussein are a few. The LaRouche movement is another.
​
Kurt Frederick Ludwig was a German spy and the head of the "Joe K" spy ring in the United States in 1940–41. It involved Paul Borchardt, a German archaeologist, who was was fired from his university post and confined in Dachau for being a Jew. He was let out and agreed to travel to the U.S. posing as a refugee and to spy for Germany due to patriotism. He was caught by a janitor informant and sentenced to 20 years in prison. Ludwig himself as sent to Alcatraz, but was released in 1953 and deported shortly afterwards. Borchardt was known for his theory that the mythical city of Atlantis was located in Tunisia.

I believe there is an intersectionality between the Borchardt Atlantis theory and the Yakub myth, but at the moment, cannot put into words exactly what it might be.

Hi everyone! I'm a comedian doing a Ted-Talk like show in the Hollywood Fringe Festival right now about the history of people with Crohn's and I thought I'd share some of the fun facts I learned in my research with the subreddit.
-Dan O'Bannon was a screenwriter and director who wrote the movie "Alien". The chestburster scene was inspired by his Crohn's Disease.
-Beth Rickey was a political activist in the 80s and 90s. She investigated and reported on David Duke (infamous white supremacist and KKK Wizard) while he was running for governor of Louisiana. She is quietly credited with stopping him from becoming governor, despite the death threats and harassment she received. She was diagnosed with Crohn's later in her life.
-Some other famous people with Crohn's: Dwight Eisenhower, Pete Davidson, Mike McCready (lead guitarist for Pearl Jam), King Louis VIII, Tyree Nichols, so many more. There's a whole wikipedia page of famous people with Crohn's.
-The ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) was passed in 1990 but Crohn's wasn't covered under it until 2008.
Anyway, thought these were interesting and worth sharing.
Edit: It's also worth noting that I wrote this having just prepared for my 12th colonoscopy tomorrow.

2023.06.05 08:28 rustyspoon07 Is anybody else really disillusioned with college in their final year?

I'm about to graduate and I've been reflecting on not only my university experience, but with my interactions outside of the university related to my field. For context, I'm an engineering major.
I've now been in 2 job interviews where I was explicitly told that [person's] company doesn't like to hire engineering graduates from Davis. The first interview was years ago, for an intern position. The second interview, they actually said they prefer Davis students, but then after I said "that's weird, I've heard other companies say the opposite", they started laughing and revealed that they were fucking with me and that I "gave the right response" to that comment. One of the guys in the room for that second interview graduated from Cal Poly SLO and he thought that was hilarious.
And I mean, that's fair. From what I've heard, SLO has a great engineering program. Their professors have strong ties to industry, there are connections that make it easier to get jobs, their classes actually teach practical engineering.
Do you know when I was ever required to actually build or work on something at Davis? It never happened. The track only includes one hands on manufacturing class. GD&T was just a single homework assignment in a 1st quarter course. As a MechE, I was required to use Solidworks for my courses just as much as I was required to use Arduino IDE, and that's a bad thing. CAD, CAM, DFM, GD&T, these aren't just small curiosities, for most engineers these things are the profession, day in and day out. And they're all treated as after-thoughts on the way to getting an engineering degree at UC Davis.
Yes, mathematical theoretics and fundamentals are important, and if you lack that foundation, you won't be useful as much more than a button pusher, but those are still useless skills if you don't know how to apply them. And I understand its not cost effective to say, provide the materials for every student to build an airplane. But at the very least you could teach the concepts required to design, manufacture, test, and release a product. Provide more practical examples in class, make students create drawings and documentation for their work like they would in industry, try to impress upon them that a solution which looks good on paper might not work in real life.
Because as it stands, the only area of engineering where I can confidently say a David student might be well-versed straight out of undergrad is high level design. Because we've been taught how to do the math, how to create models of systems, how to be aware of our assumptions. But an engineer needs to be able to do more than that. Because if I model a solution that isn't feasible, or can't be manufactured, I shouldn't have to be told a week later by the manufacturing engineer that it won't work. I should have some immediate gut reaction, some amount of training to realize when I've designed something which doesn't make sense in the real world.
I'm going to be fine. I'm decently far along in the interview process for my dream job. I was fortunate to find a student team which has given me some amazing opportunities that a lot of college students don't get to have. But that's just it, not everybody can do that, and not everybody should have to. I want my peers at UC Davis to succeed because of this school, not in spite of it.

There’s dozens and dozens of popular left leaning content creators- and Hasan, Farha, and Keffals are the only 3 Ethan’s shown interest in. So I don’t get the conspiracy that gets pushed that Ethan’s not allowed to talk about Destiny because Hasan won’t allow it. Is Vaush also not allowed to be mentioned on H3? Is David Pakman? Or FD Signifier?
Don’t know why destiny would care, or how he’s even able to keep track of the fact he’s not mentioned on h3- and it’s gotten to the point that it’s a conspiracy because ‘there just has to be an explanation.’

2023.06.05 08:04 risynn Thoughts regarding recent discussion around Niles, Kelsey and the revival.

NB: I posted this as a comment on an earlier post about why Niles wouldn't be in the revival as there was some interesting discussion, but I was also fairly late to the post. I also thought this might be good as its own post. There is a TL;DR at the end if you don't want to read through my wafflings.
I think a lot of the discussions about casting re DHP and the original cast were when the revival was still in its infancy.
The original concept of the show was to have the original cast reprise their roles, and most likely would have been set in Seattle again.
DHP did not want to reprise his role as Niles full time. He had moved on from that part of his life, and his career was in a different place.
Jane did not want to reprise her role full time as she was a series regular on The Resident at the time. She was adamant she would not leave that role for a Frasier revival.
At that point, the direction of the series was reimagined, to what we currently have. With this, we have a new cast, and Frasier in a different city.
With this in mind, there is potential for cameos in the future from DHP and Jane. A lot of the discussion about them not wanting to do the revival was around them not wanting to reprise their roles full time.
At this stage, based on what I've seen so far, I'm pretty confident that the series will get a second season. Beyond that, who knows.
In regards to things about the cast's relationships with each other, I don't think there is any indication that there is any bad blood between them and Kelsey. Recent reunion interviews have also not indicated that they've got anything but a good relationship with each other.
It has been pointed out that Kelsey is a conservative/Republican and act like this is new information. However, Kelsey seems to have always been a conservative/Republican - his views are most likely not new to the cast, and have not seemed to have influenced the series at all in the past, and now.
Despite the general views of people with a religious/conservative mindset, Kelsey appears to be, and always has been a supporter of the LGBT+ community. During his run on Frasier he worked with multiple LGBT+ cast, crew and writers. There is genuine affection shown in how he talks about the people he works with. And, from personally seeing him address the audience a month ago at a live taping, he seems to have a genuine love and respect for the people he is working with currently, and appears grateful for the opportunity to continue the series. His interactions with Peri during the episode 10 filming also seemed to be genuine from both sides, and they had a great rapport from what I saw.
I think Kelsey's most problematic view is his pro-life stance. While I am pro-choice, I think given his somewhat religious leanings, and the amount of loss he has experienced within his life, his stance should not be surprising.
TL;DR here is that a lot of the speculation is just speculation. Kelsey has some problematic views, but I don't think they're anything new to the people who know him, nor do I think they've impacted his relationships past or current. He seems to support the LGBT+ community despite his conservative leanings. The information about the cast not wanting to do the revival I think is mostly from when the plan was to use the original cast, and does not rule out cameos in the future.
And some bonus minor spoilers for the revival regarding locations and characters: David is indeed a student at Harvard, which is why he's in Boston. His home was not shown in the pilot or episode 10, but he doesn't live with Frasier or Freddie. I assume he lives on campus. I believe Niles and Daphne are still living in Seattle based on the information in both episode 10 and the pilot.

Sovereign citizens are up in arms after a decision by prominent conspiracy theorist Dave Oneeglio to start charging for access to his radical beliefs.

Sovereign citizens in one of the movement’s most popular Aussie chatrooms are up in arms over a decision by their de facto leader Dave Oneeglio to begin charging $20 per month for access to his conspiracy theorist website.
Oneeglio, who runs the chat under his username Dave Oneegs, announced he would be adding a monthly payment option for access to his website, supposedly to make his radical conspiracy beliefs more accessible — except that it is significantly more expensive than paying annually upfront.
Oneeglio is frequently spotted online peddling radical and, at worst, dangerous anti-government conspiracies that fall under the sovereign citizen umbrella.
His most recent move, though, has garnered backlash even from within the community.
Followers slammed the decision to grant access to Oneeglio’s website for $20 per month — $239 per year — as opposed to the currently available $192 annual payment.
“Dave, read the room, mate. The market sets the price for what a product or service is worth, regardless of what you believe it’s worth. And your audience is telling you that you are overpriced,” one user, Tash, wrote.
“No point getting offended and defensive by that and making people feel like s**t. You will NEVER win people over that way.”
“You’ve completely lost the plot if you think that people are going to pay more than their streaming service subscription that they can turn on 24/7 for something that comes out on Tuesday’s (sic) and Thursdays,” said another user, Fox Hunter.
“I’ve supported Dave since the beginning but tbh (to be honest) I feel like he’s talking down to me and attacking me because I can’t afford to sign up to his website. It’s pretty tone deaf to tell people what they can and can’t afford. I’m on a disability pension so there no way (sic) I can afford $97. And I don’t think that’s my fault but Dave makes me feel like it is,” wrote a third.
The critics earned the vitriol of Oneeglio, who insisted even a “homeless person” could front up the cash.
“I guarantee a homeless person can find $5 a week. I guarantee it! We have a media that has decimated this country … and I’m doing something about it,” he wrote in one rambling response.
“The team and I and everyone who is supporting are tired of complaining and we are actually going to DO. something about it. If you can’t find $5, that’s fine … It’s not because you don’t have it … It’s because you don’t see the value yet in how important this is and u will spend the $5 elsewhere.”
He later doubled down, posting a videoed rant in which he accused the chat’s members of “shooting (him) in the back”.
“Why don’t you actually put yourselves in our shoes just for two seconds and think, wow, these people have been going non-stop for three years now. They might actually give a s**t about this country, they might actually be doing their best that they can,” Oneeglio said in a vlog from his car.
“We don’t plan on stopping but just stop trying to shoot us down when we’re fighting for you. Had enough of it. Over and out.”
Inside the conspiracy beliefs
The term “sovereign citizen” encompasses a broad range of ideologies, including anti-vaccine, anti-mainstream media and anarchist beliefs, but at its core refers to an insistence that the government and its actors are illegitimate.
The movement shot into public consciousness late last year after three of its members, the murderous Train trio, shot dead two Queensland police officers and a bystander.
One of the Train brothers was a member of Oneeglio’s own Telegram channel, and had referenced the conspiracy leader in his writings.
It is not suggested that any member of the group, including Oneeglio, was involved in the events at Wieambilla.
Unsettling screenshots of conversations being had inside the chat showed participants sympathising with the Train trio and even praising the cold-blooded killing of Constable McCrow and Constable Arnold.
One of the most disturbing comments came under a post from Oneeglio himself asking how his followers were “feeling”, after sharing a photo with the phrase: “When war is declared, truth is the first casualty.”
“How is everyone feeling? I feel flat and unsettled. Something feels very ‘wrong’ on some level today. Please share a comment below,” he wrote under the image.
One follower replied to this comment, urging others in the group to “take up arms” just like Nathaniel Train and his brother had.
“It feels very strange today. One of our fold has finally carried out their promise to make a difference. It will make a difference,” they wrote.
“They can’t keep suppressing us forever. Time to take up arms like our brother Nate.”
In other posts, commenters referred to one of the Train brothers as a “modern day Ned Kelly”, warning the “same thing might happen” if police officers tried to come onto their land.
Oneeglio has created a career for himself off the back of the movement and his Telegram channel, which has more than 61,000 subscribers.
The self-purported “influencer” has even started a merchandise range.
One shirt has the lines “Pharma funds the media, the media funds your fears. Your fears fund your disease, your disease funds pharma,” while another design states, “no weapon formed against me shall prosper.”
In recent months, he has been linked to numerous public clashes between sovereign citizens and police.
Oneeglio is currently facing a legal fight over allegations he used money raised for northern NSW flood victims inappropriately.
Oneeglio, also a friend of controversial chef Pete Evans, has been charged with one count each of failing to comply with lawful requirements, conducting unlawful appeals for support and person assisting an appeal converting money for own use or failing to properly account for the money concerning the flooding in Lismore.
The Queensland Office of Fair Trading (OFT) recently told News Corp that charges against the 48-year-old had been filed following an investigation.
Magistrate Colin Strofield adjourned the matter to March 17 to set a trial date if required.

The attached excerpt of a news article is very disturbing for me, primarily because of the ease of getting an Indian Citizenship and involvement in governing the country. I respect the person "Nehginpao Kipgen" because of his achievements in life and may his soul rest in peace. What I do not respect is how easily a person can become a part of Manipur. It may partly be the fault of the law makers due to their myopic vision or due to negligence towards the ethnic tribes of the northeast.
In papers, the government is keen on developing the northeastern states as this is the gateway for the whole south-east Asian trade relations. When the time comes to show that it really matters, people tend to back off citing some reasons as this won't give any vote bank. The taxpayers will hate the northeastern states as they take up a major chunk of taxpayers' money, what they fail to understand is that the Northeast is kept deliberately kept backwards so that the political godfathers can have control over the region. The people of these states are also to blame, as most are unable to come out of the backward mindset and do something substantial for the economical growth rather than depending on the government.
The PMO is totally indifferent towards the whole riots and incidents in Manipur, the Home Minister probably acted out of peer pressure due to the media but no fruitful results and showcasing his political experience by blaming the High Court.
The violence and riots happening in Manipur is misdirected as "Hindu-Christian", "Meitei-Kuki" "Ethnic Clashes", but what people seem to ignore is the fact that this is the starting of a much bigger problem. With a JNU faculty "Dr. Thongkholal Haokip" acknowledging the influx of Kuki immigrants from other countries, primarily from Myanmar and Bangladesh to help their Kuki brothers in need is very concerning. He constantly says "what option do we have?" to justify the issue of illegal immigrants. They might have same ancestral roots, but this will affect the Kuki people settled in Manipur for a long time. The bigger problem now would be to identify who were staying in Manipur and who are the illegal immigrants.
