https://archidekt.com/decks/4648383/broodlord_roger Game plan is to win with DCM + Twinflame after reanimating hoarding broodlord. Grab [[saw in half]] and get DCM/twinflame if you have the mana and underworld breach and final fortune if you don’t.
Armix can be a discard outlet for the dragon. I’m currently missing [[dread return]], but rather than waste a whole sheet of paper printing one common, I figured I’d post here and see what else I can cut/add. Open to pretty much anything.
No budget
I’ve played two games so far- 1 loss, 1 win. Could have presented an extra attempt in game 2 if not for deafening silence.
Meta is almost entirely online on spelltable. In my experience, spelltable is a 50/50 split between t1 decks like blue farm and absolute complete jank (like me).

2023.06.08 12:01 magictcgmods Daily Questions Thread - Ask All Your Magic Related Questions Here!
This is a place for asking simple questions that might not deserve their own thread. For example, if you have a question about a rules interaction, want sleeve and accessory recommendations, or suggestions for your new deck, then this is the place for you.
We encourage that you post any questions that you may have concerning Magic the Gathering here rather than make a separate thread for each question, though for now we won't require that you do so.
Rules Questions Rules questions and interactions are allowed to be posted here, but if you need an answer quickly it may be best to use a dedicated resource like the
24/7 Magic the Gathering Rules Chat.
Deckbuilding Questions If you're trying to get help with a deck, it is recommended that you post your decklist to a deckbuilding website so that it is easier to view. Some popular sites are Aetherhub, Archidekt, Deckbox, Deckstats, Moxfield, MtgGoldfish, and TappedOut.
Additionally, please include some description of what you are trying to accomplish. Don't just give us a decklist with no explanation, and don't ask extremely vague questions such as "what cards should I add to my deck to make it better?", because it's hard to give good advice in those cases. Let us know details, the more the better. Are you building with a particular strategy or theme in mind? Are there any non-obvious combo lines or synergies that people should be aware of? Are you struggling with a particular matchup, or are you finding yourself missing consistency in an important area, and need some help specifically for it? Let us know.
Commonly Asked Questions - I opened a card from a different set in my booster pack, is this unusual?
Don't worry, this is completely normal. If you opened a set booster, you have a small chance of obtaining a bonus card from a previous set. This is an extra card that does not replace any of the other cards in your pack, and is from a curated set of past hits that Wizards of the Coast has selected, which they call "The List".
You can view the contents of The List on Wizards of the Coast's official website. For example, the contents of The List for Streets of New Capenna boosters can be found
here.
- My foil card has a shooting start symbol over the bottom left. I can't find anything about it online.
All old-bordered foils have the shooting start symbol. Most sites that display card images just overlay a generic foil graphic over all foil cards, which doesn't include the shooting star. Your card is normal.

2023.06.08 08:25 Cyclonebullet Help with Greensleeves, Maro-Sorcerer
The Deck This is my first time building a Mono-Colored deck, but the idea of running over someone with a stampede of badgers was too funny to pass up. I'm trying to avoid some of the really high price items(20$+), and I don't want to just slap in a [[Parallel Lives]] as that is already being used in another deck. Should I run more ramp, more interaction, more ways to play more lands and the like?
My ideal finishers are probably [[Nissa, Ascended Animist]] or [[Overwhelming Stampede]], but are there any other good finishers I could use? I decided Nissa would basically be a Craterhoof when I drop her down and could pump my board to something crazy.

2023.06.08 07:40 o0O_Ouroboros Gargos vicious watcher - Optimization/cutting room
Below is an archidekt link to the current list of potential cards
https://www.archidekt.com/decks/3709391/gargos_vicious_watcher_11 Hello everyone, thankyou in advance for any advice or wisdom in what to add, cut, or prioritize. I'm intending on being the mono green menace in my high to mid powered group and would love some help in getting the most out of gargos. I've done the typical scouring of edhrec data along with some peripheral research on what others have done, but now its time to actually cut down to the remaining 99.
Points of synergy/theming/prioritization that i've identified in my first baby steps
- obvious tribal synergy ideas
- +1/+1 counters (all sorts of doubling/additive effects)
- Gargos fight triggers/voltron ideas
- Synergistic creature ramp and mono green velocity/card draw fueled basic land ramp with doublers to pull away into silly amounts of mana
- X cost synergy (nexos stands out)

The goal of this deck is to either apply a lot of toxic to my opponents, get the Jin cards out to control the game or Use the ichormoon gauntlets and Teferis Talent to do more with my planeswalkers. I'll take any constructive feedback or ideas to help make the deck flow better.

2023.06.07 23:03 oatfishjar96 $50 Gyrus, Walker of Corpses
Recently I’ve been really into commanders who grow as the game grows, so the longer the game is drawn out the more value you get out of your commander just by doing what you’re already wanting to do. This is what has lead me to build a [[Gyrus, Walker of Corpses]] deck to go along with my Marath deck!
https://archidekt.com/decks/4662998/50_gyrus_waker_of_corpses The first part of the deck pretty much has a similar build to other Gyrus decks where you want to self mill yourself in order to get the pieces you need/want into your graveyard before you recur them for their etb abilities.
Now the second part of the deck is where i put my own love of voltron deck twist on it. I decided to add cards to help buff up Gyrus equal to the number of creatures in my graveyard like [[Bonehoard]], [[Nighthowler]], [[Criminal Past]], and [[Undercity Upheaval]]. As well as adding in some equipment to help give Gyrus trample to really swing in for that commander damage.
It’s definitely not a perfect build but it’s fun to play if you like milling yourself and doing graveyard shenanigans lol
Thanks for reading. C&C always welcome 🙏🏼

2023.06.07 21:56 JonnotheMackem What’s your “theme” deck built for flavour and not to win?
https://archidekt.com/decks/1143061/lord_volemort This is my lord voldermort and his death eaters deck. It was built for the flavour of the cards and the each of them depicts something in the books or films - you’ll see all of the horcruxes, an important artifact from the Harry Potter series or two, and some pretty notable death eaters and minions in the creatures. Also, the thing that killed Sirius black. I was inspired by a LOTR deck I saw on twitter, and I inspired a friend to build a GoT themed deck! What’s yours?

Hello everyone!
I've just recently got into MTG and have put together a list for my first ever spellslinger deck (and only second ever commander deck).
I based it mainly on an upgraded version of the 2015 Seize Control precon with a few tweaks.
I don't have a particularly high budget, but before I buy all the singles, I wondered if anyone had any thoughts. Are there any weaknesses? Cards that should be dropped? Worthwhile replacements?
Here's the deck list:

2023.06.07 14:44 plasticjampot looking for help with my first commander deck
dearest magic players,
after havig played with mostly the 60 card decks for years now I finally wanted to make a commander deck, it seems to be the most popular format with the people I play with. Since I had a good few Ixalan cards I decided the commander I'd use is Gishath. I've now started with creating the deck and I think there is a LOT of improvement to do but I really do not know enough magic cards to know what cards to add or remove. I am hoping someone (or multiple someone's?) who could help me with the deck. I tried to keep it fairly budget but have so far failed with that, so I'd pefer if the cards recommended are not too expensive
Here is the decklist:
https://archidekt.com/decks/4624146/gishath_commander_idea it is withouth lands as I 'd like to add those at the end, with me addig more expensive lands if I have enough budget left and less expensive ones if the rest of the deck will be more expensive cards.
I am greatly appreciative of any help, really! The expensive cards in the deck that came from my own collection are:
- gishath, dowsing dagger, vanquisher's banner, carnage tyrant, tyrranax rex, vizier of the menagerie, descendants path, growing rites of itlimoc, smothering tithe, shapers sanctuary and vanquish the horde
I hope someone will be able to be of service :D I think at the moment I do not have enough interaction and card draw, maybe too many green cards? I really do not know this is my first commander deck

2023.06.07 08:34 pengwah Looking for advice - Bruna, Light of Alabaster
Hi! This is my favorite deck that i’ve worked on for a while. It plays great and unfortunately costs a lot, but hey i love it lol.
Anywho, im going to be playing in a tournament soon and was looking for some card recommendations or suggestions to think about. I’m mainly worried my land base isn’t “high level” enough. additionally, im on the fence about including [[vanishing]]. it could be useful to phase my stuff out before board wiping for example. what do you guys think? Any tips are great. thanks!

2023.06.07 08:19 SUPERetnad01 Myrel, soldier girl
I'm working on a soldier tribal deck with [[Myrel, Shield of Argive]] as the commander. This is my first real deck, so I'm looking for some advice here.
(
https://archidekt.com/decks/4596073/soldado_v2 )
You might be wondering what happened to V1. Well, when I played V1 at my LGS, I realized there was no interaction, so I decided to create a new version, V2. In the latest iteration, V2, I added some tutors to the deck to hopefully increase its consistency.
The main idea behind the deck is quite simple: I want to have soldiers on the board and then attack with Myrel to create more soldiers.
To boost my damage output, I've included cards like [[Cathar's Crusade]], [[Goldnight Commander]], and [[Coat of Arms]].
To ensure Myrel survives or connects when attacking, I've included cards like [[Authority of Consuls]], [[Commander's Plate]], [[Bastion Protector]] and [[Mother of Runes]].
Additionally, I've included soldier generators such as [[Darien, King of Kjeldor]], [[Elspeth, Sun's Champion]], [[Captain of the Watch]], and [[Call the Coppercoats]].
Any suggestions or advice you can provide for improving this deck would be greatly appreciated!

2023.06.07 05:17 DangerZoneSLA America: The Deckoning
I have, since I first started thinking of magic only a few years ago, wanted to make a deck in good old red, white and blue, and have that deck somehow encapsulate my feelings about life here in the US.
So, capitalism and oppression.
From there, I searched through my not-so-extensive library of cards, found that [[Elsha of the Infinite]] was the most interesting and fun looking thing I had in the color identity, and slapped this ugly monstrosity of a deck together.
I know it’s kind of an incoherent mess, but, at the time, that was part of the deck building to me. I WANTED it to be kind of sloppy, like the country I loathe to call home.
I feel, now, after multiple losses, I should bring it some, if small, level of cohesion.
But I suck at deck building.
Please help. I’m heading to bed, but will check my lack of comments in the morning.

2023.06.07 04:25 Raccoon_Walker Help with Baba Lysaga deck
Hi!
I'm a fairly new player. So far, I've tried building decks with a focus on ramping and playing big creatures, but none of them have been very successful. I thought I would try something more focused on card interactions, sustained play and drawing, and Baba Lysaga looked like a very fun Commander.
I started with this
list and did my best to keep it viable while avoiding the most expensive cards.
This is the result. The idea is to accumulate ressources and chip away at my opponents' and their life by gaining more than I lose with Baba Lysaga while gaining a comfortable amount of life. I will ask the people I play with if basic lands can count as proxy for snow lands, but I don't think that will be a problem.
I wanted to get feedback on the deck and look for ways to improve it before commiting to buying it.
Thank you very much for your help!

2023.06.07 02:15 SubstantialDeer5639 Please, help me make my very weird themed deck good!
`I've got an EDH deck that I LOVE to play. It gets a lot of attention, a lot of "wow, that's so cool!", but.. it struggles to actually end a game. It can stall forever, but that's not fun for very many people.
The concept of the deck is that I can only use cards that originally came out before the rarity of cards were printed on them, so basically 1997 and older with a few exceptions.
The commander is Merieke Ri Berit.
My favorite thing about the deck is all of the color changing stuff, like Magical Hack. I've made sure that alot of the enchantments can interact with that element of the deck. Wrath of Marit Lage, Deathgrip, etc.
My least favorite thing is the creature base. I like the alpha white/black knights, norritt, sorceress queen, etc. The shadow creatures were in there at the suggestion of a friend as a way to finish games but.. they don't lol.
I need some really strong combo pieces that can actually win me some games. I don't really have any way to win through combat, mill, etc right now, and I'm not sure how to make that happen using cards from 1997 and older exclusively.
Here's the decklist:

I'm looking for suggestions on which cards to swap out, since I'm still new to magic deck building. I wanna keep the deck cost to around 100-130€ (price source cardmarket).
So far the deck revolves a lot around the Commander, which means trying to get many cards into exile so Umbris grows.
