Arizona has been a growing place to do stand-up with plenty of places to get stage time as well as many alternative comedy shows for those seeking a new writing perspective in general. This subreddit is for those willing to graciously share new sign-up-and-go open mics in the area or any show in general. If your brave enough post your set and ask for critiques. 2023.05.29 05:15 rememberstaycentered My experience after 2 weeks on bupropion

I was prescribed 150mg XL 2 weeks ago for ADHD and likely depression.
The first few days
I was surprised to notice there was an immediate and fairly intense effect. The first day on this I had no appetite at all. The next couple of days after, it wasn't that I was more often angry, but something that might have annoyed me before was closer to rage. The odd thing is, I felt like I could control it and the anger wasn't as accompanied by anxiety as usual. I also had occasional and seemingly random moments of euphoria. These effects sharply at first and then steadily fell off for the most part by the end of the first week. No noticeable change to sleep.
The end of the first week and the first half of the second
I experienced more noticeable depression. My sugar cravings returned somewhat, but not nearly as bad as without bupropion. There was also a seeming increase in anxiety. I'm worried at this point this won't be a good fit for me, but, unless side-effects get significantly worse, I'm at least going to wait the recommended few weeks. Oddly, my job is more tolerable, but I feel very uneasy and restless at home. Things like video games are not as enjoyable.
The end of the second week
Things have been trending much better. I more often feel content and my sugar cravings have by today almost completely disappeared. I'm the type of person who will eat a whole bag of chocolate candy if I buy it, so I tend not to do that despite the urge. I did buy some sweets at the beginning of last week, but they lasted significantly longer. I had a blueberry Pop-Tart this morning and it was weird imagining eating another one. There are still feelings of unease while at home, but it's been less intense. Work has become even more endurable. I also find I'm not nearly as groggy waking up and wake up earlier. I feel like my concentration has possibly decreased slightly, but this very well could be just that I'm more noticing that it's crap than it actually having decreased.
All the positive effects have been linearly increasing day by day and negative effects decreasing. It's been very noticeable, which I didn't expect in such a short time. This very well could change, but if the trend continues in this direction, then this medication could work out well for me.
Weird note : The one constant is I've been having weird dreams that I remember(at least for a while immediately after waking up) and that have a constant throughline. I used to have frequent changes in circumstances in dreams if I did happen to remember them, which I usually didn't. I was tempted to type out the dream from last night and as I was doing it realized it was so bizarre that there's no way to express it without sounding like I'm having an episode. I think we all have dreams like that from time to time, but these are like every night and have a consistent weird theme throughout.

---
It seems like these aren't super uncommon experiences on this medication, but I noticed them before looking into that. I've been Googling something like "bupropion very angry", just to find out it's very common. The one thing that seems unusual is the weird mix of both euphoria or feeling content and depression. Not at the same time, but it seems like most people have one or the other. They're either baseline and above OR below depending on their reaction. Anyone have any thoughts? Is it likely that the depression I experienced in the middle isn't a long-term indicator of a bad fit for me?

2023.05.29 05:14 WillingnessForward Is it irrational of me to be annoyed with this?

I am a department lead for the Starbucks at my store. The store managers are constantly making changes to the schedule and not notifying me or the rest of the department employees when they do so. They write it on the displayed copy we keep in the department, but they do not correct it on MyTime. A lot of us check on the MyTime app for our schedule and we also use it to clock in/out. However, when the store managers make these changes to the schedule and do not change it on the app, it creates issues with clocking in. It also creates confusion about when to come in. We experienced this today when a store manager removed an entire person from the schedule and adjusted someone else to be coming in 4 hours earlier than what they were already scheduled. However because that person relies on the app for their schedule they ended up being 4 hours “late.”
I was just wondering if I had a right to be annoyed?

2023.05.29 05:14 MartianCaveman How strong is your empathy?

I'm an extremely sensitive empath and am curious how many other infj's are ; and to what degree. By "extremely sensitive", I mean I sometimes "hear" what the person near me is about to say, a split second before they say it. Or, if I'm watching Tosh.O, I get terrible shudders and crawls if I see someone get hurt. I can "feel" road rash through just watching it on tv... So, to speak. It's not the full pain of injury, but more a phantom feeling of ill ease. And PLEASE do not show me a picture of an injury. Just. No. There are many more examples, but these are a few. Oh, and don't get me started about feeling other peoples' anxiety/fear. Ugh. Like a kick in the gut.

2023.05.29 05:14 rasner724 I suspect our building’s chief engineer is a fraud, please HELP!

Hello civil engineers! Hope this finds you all in pleasant spirits, so I’ve come to a slightly annoying situation and I’d like to know if I’m wrong.
For context, I live (own) in a loft on the 35 floor apartment complex on South FL. We have lots of issues, and I believe many preventable ones. One such issue is Our “chief engineer” claims that he needs to “see the issue” in order to diagnose something? He proceeded to say something to extent of “if you go to a doctor, and you have no pain, how is he supposed to diagnose you?”
Anyway - the issue at hand is a leak I have in my apartment. It’s not a major leak, its on the second floor, it happens about every 6-7 months and comes out of the wall, like the bottom of the wall. It makes about a half bucket’s worth of water mess wise. He claims it’s my shower, we use the shower daily, and now he wanted to open my wall and leave it that way to see if it happens again.
I am certainly not an engineer but this seems highly suspect. Can anyone chime in and tell me your thoughts?

2023.05.29 05:14 Reasonable-Ocelot176 BAD!

Jessie Reyez's record is a complete disappointment. The vinyl was warped from the moment I opened the package, and it made the music sound distorted and fuzzy. It's unacceptable for a product to have this kind of defect, especially when consumers pay top dollar for a premium vinyl experience. I tried returning the record, but the customer service was unhelpful and unresponsive. It's a shame because I was really looking forward to enjoying Reyez's music on vinyl, but this flawed product ruined the experience for me.

2023.05.29 05:14 Commander_Oganessian This is an excerpt from a piece I'm working on. It's the start of an invasion. Thoughts?

“What have you found, Stryder?” asks Oganessian as he is standing in the command center of an Eraconi Invasion Support Craft, a flying military and logistics base and one of the largest craft built by the draconic Eraconi.
A wireframe image of the planet with dots scattered across its surface appears on the vertical, transparent glass screen at the center of the room, “They have InterPlanetary Ballistic Missile silos and anti-air turrets placed across the surface.”
“Those are rather accurate scans,” comments the red scaled General Allgemein, “How’d you get them so quickly?”
“My creators' sensors are far more advanced than anything you can imagine,” answers Stryder, an organic supercomputer built two million years ago by a long extinct race, “I’ve considered putting them on your vessels, however they are incompatible without designing and building a new vessel from scratch.”
“I see.” Nods Allgemein, “Just one of those IPBM’s can destroy a warship, and forget about landing an army with those cannons.”
“You could throw asteroids at them.” Suggests Oganessian, “Something I never did, as it was a waste of valuable resources, but it would be effective.”
“From what your machine has told us, that planet is the primary source of food for the Hr’Haing. Food that we could use ourselves,” retorts Allgemein.
“Titan has a few squadrons of escorts and tactical bombers left back home from before the switch to missile systems.” suggests the human, “They may not have long range FTL drives but they can still cross a system. You can use them to selectively eliminate the silos and AA guns.”
"We'll accept them, but they would be better as support." Denies Allgemein, "Does your machine have any ideas?"
Stryder taps her chin with an insectoid leg before answering, "It's likely these silos are networked. For missions like this my creators would send an infiltrator and upload it with an AI to land, sneak through a base, insert itself into the network, and rewrite it to obey them."
"The only AI we have is you," argues Ogane, "You're too valuable to risk."
Stryder releases a hiss, her version of a sigh, "Your thinking of me like a human, which is charming don't get me wrong, but I'm a computer program. A program that can be copied and uploaded as needed, the whole process takes mere seconds."
"Sounds like a plan!" Calls Allgemein with a smile.
"I'll get started right away!" Calls Stryder as she sends a message to the ship.
Minutes later Stryder asks, "I've sent the infiltrator, do you want me to route the feed through your display?"
"Procede." Nods Allgemein.
A camera feed appears on the display that shows the view of the infiltrator just as its heatshield burns away on the night side of the world. After a free fall the centipede-like machine opens a pair of diaphanous wings within the walls of a military base and flies to a wall over a door. There it waits for a flatworm-esque Hr'Haing to open the door so it can crawl in and on to the ceiling, thermal scanners reading doors, Stryder explains that it's looking for an unusually cold room. After a quick hide from a soldier that happened to look in just the right spot the infiltrator finds its target. Sneaking through a vent it enters a large server farm. Jumping from server to server it finds the one that connects to the silos and gets to work. Once its mission is complete it escapes the base before self immolating in the farmland beyond.
"And I've received a return ping," cheers Stryder, "A copy of myself is now inhabiting their military network. You may launch your invasion."
"Do they have a nation spanning network like we do? And can you access it?" Asks Allgemein.
"Of course they're primitive!" Answers Stryder.
"Good send this speech through to every connected device then scramble both networks." Orders Allgemein.
On a cargo port, which doubles as military command for the system, over the planet a Hr'haing named Tinatini is idly tapping on the touchscreen on his desk with a whip-like tentacle when the screen goes black and is filled with the visage of a red scaled Eraconi.
"Hello from Zycie. For too long have you filthy worms kept us contained, destroying our science ships and pilfering the wealth of our system, but not anymore for your reign is now at an end! We have placed an outpost in the outer reaches of the Soplis Meurneoba System, by your laws we now own the system and as far as we're concerned there is an infestation to clear out!"
Rushing to the command center buried deep within the station, Tinatini calls out, "Report!"
"P’olk’ovnik’i Tinatini!" Jumps Leit’enant’i Pridon with a sloppy salute, "A fleet of unknown vessels have just appeared on the scopes. The only things the computer can identify are Fusion Thermal Drives and Human FTL technology. What are your orders?"
He lets out a gurgling growl, "Humanity has been hiding in their own system for five hundred years, and selling tech to primitives is the first thing they do. Raise the IPBMs. Target the Eraconi! We'll deal with humanity later."
With a nod Pridon's tentacles dance over the screen inputting commands with impressive speed, however after confirming launch the display is replaced by an insectoid face which speaks in a cheery tone, "Looks like you're trying to launch missiles, unfortunately your network is unavailable. Please try again… Never! Hope your affairs are in order!"
Glancing at the screen Tinatini sighs, "Our tiny anti piracy fleet doesn't stand a chance. Evacuate the station and send the fleet to Sakhlshi, we can only hope to hold them at Terminus until help arrives."
"Should we use the space elevator to get down to Terminus?" Asks Uprosi Serzhant’i Zaal, the head of the non-commissioned and enlisted soldiers.
"It's too slow, stick to escape vehicles and auxiliary craft." Orders Tinatini.
With a salute Zaal sounds the alarm and departs.
Safely away from the station Tinatini glances out the window of his shuttle in time to see a swarm of missiles strike the elevator which, like a taut rope, snaps a portion swinging towards its counterweight and cleaving through the toroidal cargo station. Unable to maintain integrity the spinning station shatters flinging debris at high speeds in every direction. As the grounded portion of the elevator snaps downward it, and the debris shrouding it, destroys the few late departures as it passes his shuttle, and onward to wrap one and a half times around the green world below, crushing anything built on or near the equator.
The knowledge that the only things crushed will be hyperloops, crops, livestock, and the narrow portions of Terminus directly below the elevator, does bring a sweet bit of relief to Tinatini's mind as his shuttle spirals towards the only city on this verdant world.

2023.05.29 05:14 dirifididnngf I feel like drivers don't get enough credit

The biggest thing about drivers I see on here is "all they do is stand around."
But at the end of the day drivers are usually responsible for making sure everything is restocked, cleaning everything, doing the lists, that dreaded DB list, and on top of that have to help make sandwiches. WORST of all is drivers get SHIT for training.
I've been here for a few months now and have seen a couple new hires for both drivers and inshops.
For drivers its just "heres the driver board, heres how to bag an order, theres the coat rack... Dont stand around and good luck."
Inshops actually get tested on sandwiches, they get an actual study guide, they get put on positions and slowly move up the cold table.
All of our inshops can handle the entire line by themselves within weeks, whereas the drivers that have been here for months can only wrap and maybe make a slim.
It took me a couple weeks for someone to finally tell me there was an order to taking drives.
Idk it just feels weird how everyone jokes on the drivers for chilling in their cars and then chilling at the store when there really isn't any initiative in teaching them shit. And those that actually try to figure shit out just get tossed around because they're in the way.
I guess im just pissy cuz I actually wanna work on sandwiches during my down time, when everything's clean and restocked and I just get thrown around and cant figure out where to place myself on the cold table.

2023.05.29 05:13 BinghamL Wife and I want to power our DH MTBs, aiming for lots of performance, but have some concerns.

Hi guys,
My wife and I both have top of the line (for the 2010 era) DH MTBs ready to receive some power. Full suspension (room for batteries), hydraulic disc brakes, fox shocks, all those goodies.
We've ridden rental radbikes that were capped at 750W and they left a lot to be desired in terms of power. I'll have to be able to cap my builds there via the controller to keep it legal where required in my state.
That said, I plan to mainly ride on property where this cap is not a concern. When riding there, I want near dirt bike acceleration and top speed up to about 30-35mph. I don't want to go much faster than that on a bike, but I do want to be able to lift the front tire with the throttle starting out, maybe break traction at low speeds, stuff like that. Looking for a thrilling ride here, at lower speeds.
Here's the rub: I'm a big guy, 6'8 230lb. I'll need some serious power to get this done. The cyc gen 3 looks to have the oomph, but here's my main question:
Secondarily, I'm open to any other motor / drivetrain suggestions. I'm heavily leaning on mid drive over hub drive due to sprung weight vs unsprung, plus using gearing with a mid drive to maximize performance.
I've been googling but I'm having a hard time finding much beyond sites selling kits / motors. I want to do more research. Any builds you can point me to that sound like they might fit my list of requirements? I'd appreciate it!

2023.05.29 05:13 DimensionOk7116 Something weird just happened and it’s really freaking me out

I had one ear bud in, just one. I always do that in case my family calls for me. I share a room with my sister and she is a witness to what happened.
I was just playing Roblox on mute, I wasn’t listening to anything at the moment and none of my tabs were playing something. The only thing open was Netflix and it was paused.
Everything was silent then in my one earbud I hear something clear as day. It is the slow knocking on a door. One, two, three. I freeze after the first one terrified as I can obviously hear my house and look to my open bedroom door. This sound was not coming from outside my earbuds. It was coming from inside.
It was so real but nothing was playing absolutely nothing and no tabs. Roblox was muted and I was playing a dumb soccer game so it wouldn’t even make sense for a slow knock like that.
I was so freaked out and asked my sister and she was confused and says the house is dead silent must be from your computer.
I’m so freaked out, this has never happened before. Am I crazy??? I 100% heard it and in that one ear only. Please help.

2023.05.29 05:13 LivingFickle I finally finished the Tomb Raider Legend Trilogy and it was a somewhat frustrating but otherwise good time. [Xbox 360]

Howdy folks, so after not really touching this particular set of TR games since Legend on the Gamecube, I finally decided to sit down and go through the "Next Gen" version of it plus the other two in it's Trilogy for the first time, and since I played on Xbox I was also able to purchase and play the two story expansions for Underworld but more on those in a bit.
If you care about story, start here - I'll run through the story and lit tidbits about the games as a whole, and then conclude my nitpicks and praises per game about gameplay and such so lesgo - - The story actually starts with Anniversary, as it's a remake of Tomb Raider (1996). Despite it not originally releasing on the Xbox 360 until a later date from the Playstation/PC release, it's actually essential you understand what happens in the plot. It's available on Xbox as both DLC for TR Legend and as a Standalone. This also means you must own and play Anniversary through Legend if you wish to get 100% achievements. The story though, starts in said remade year, 1996 - Lara is greeted by a man named Larson, who with a little satellite PDA looking thing? (I think it's a laptop in the original, but I can't tell what it's supposed to be in Anniversary) introduces Lara to Natla, who sends her on the quest of getting one of the pieces of the Scion of Atlantis. This has Lara travelling from the likes of Peru, Greece and Egypt battling things from bats and bears to flying, fireball spitting goblins and minotaurs. Once Lara has obtained two of the pieces, a vision is played in her head where some of the lore is explained by Steve Blum. The second time this happens (after getting the third piece and completing the Scion) more lore is explained and it's shown that Natla is obviously the game's big bad - so Lara wakes up from this revelation with Natla holding the now complete Scion and Lara's in custody by Natla's baddies and has been robbed of her weapons (this is a bummer). Natla leaves in a car on her way to a boat while Lara QTEs her way out of a tight situation and cutscenes her way onto a motorcycle chase and Lara sneaking her way onto said boat. Somehow the baddies you QTE'd are also on this boat before you. The Final level takes on an Unknown Island where Natla has been digging. Since Lara doesn't have her weapons after the last cutscene - her first objective is to get her hands on some inconveniently placed Dual Pistols. After completing the area's final puzzle and getting the mine cart moving, Larson shows up to stop Lara until she kills him in a QTE. This really has psychological damage that she seems to forget about in the following games but the game carries on until she can QTE her way through the last few of Natlas goons and mozie on about the wicked structure within. This wicked structure within is what Lara eventually realizes is essentially Atlantis in a confrontation with Natla, who then asks the obvious rhetorical question of "Would you join me?". This results in Lara shooting the Scion and breaking it, thus finally giving her some boss fights that end with us on top and Lara stealing a boat. - Legend starts with a flashback and doesn't acknowledge any of what I just said because "technically" hasn't happened yet because Anniversary came later. The flashback is of Lara as a child and her mother in a plane during some rather turbulent weather. This results in the plane crashing and Lara waking up while climbing cliffs. Not sure how safe it is to sleep while rockclimbing but she's the expert, not me. The game kicks off in Bolivia as Lara as information of certain artifacts that possibly have to do with other flashbacks tied to why she's here and her mom isn't. This game has Lara mostly killing human enemies, with the tutorials going from platforming and equipment to combat in a pretty quick amount of time. The other games usually start with something small, but Legend starts with guns in your direction. Anywho, at the end of Bolivia, Lara is confronted by a man named Rutland who talks a lot but doesn't really respond to anything Lara says and an obscured antagonist from Lara's past named Amanda. After Lara commits several counts of murder the game picks up and goes to Peru because of a thing Rutland says. Peru has Lara going through more baddies until a pretty cool motorcycle sequence ending in she and her escort arriving at an old dig site (the one Rutland mentions). This takes us into a gameplay flashback where we get a "Classic Lara" bit without weapons. It's all platforming and puzzles which isn't a bad thing! However, what is a bad thing is a mysterious Wraith that appears in these mines and ends up killing everyone in the flashback except Amanda. They become the best of friends - Snap back to reality and "modern Lara" goes through the same, but more decrepit mines, making good progress until we've been ambushed by Rutland's baddies. After more murder, Lara helps the escort friend who is also counted in the ambush and this ends the level because Lara is realizing more things are connected. From Peru we go to Japan because a Yakuza member has something we want, and we're willing to kill him for it. After we doesn't want to give it to us without death, we slay numerous of his minions and eventually... HIM! Taking his artifact with us we head to Ghana because that's where Rutland is, and we want the piece he was waving around because it looks like the piece we got from the Yakuza man. We kill Rutland just to be sure, and viola! They DO go together! Wrapping this up because not a lot of story happens but there's a fight with Amanda's Wraith, we seemingly kill it with the power of Tesla, from Kazakhstan the game takes us to England, presumably the Tomb of King Arthur, where it's realized that the Artifacts we've been gathering are actually fragments Excalibur. We also kill a big snake here, maybe two of them but I'm unsure. From the Tomb it's off to Nepal - the crash site of the beginning of the game's Flashback. After getting our mother's pendant from the crash in a QTE we proceed through the level until it's time to put the pieces together and complete the Sword. Completing the Sword sets us off to the final section of the first level - Bolivia, where after some fighting with goons and Amanda, Lara puts the sword into the ruins and touches them in an order based on something she wrote as a child. This starts a scene that looks like the other side of a flashback Lara had, showing that Lara had initiated a device that her mother pulled her away from, the device seemingly yelled at her causing her mothing to pull the sword from the stone and vanish. In modern time, we hear Lara trying to communicate with her mother, the way it plays out would indicate that "modern Lara" is the reason her past mother pulls the sword and disappears. Amanda is in the background yelling for "modern Lara" to pull out the sword but she doesn't and the machine explodes. This upsets Amanda who seemingly was trying to use the machine to go to a place called Avalon and claims that's where Lara's mother "currently" is. This interaction ends with Amanda getting pistol whipped. - Underworld starts with Croft Manor exploding (this is bad). Lara tutorials her way through the burning house until she ends up at the front door with her butler and Zip. Zip is mostly a voice in Tomb Raider Legend but does have a model and does appear in Legend's Manor mode. I didn't mention him before because he doesn't really do anything in that game besides quip over the radio. He's here now and with a gun, and he doesn't like us too much but before we can find out why he started blasting the game does that super cool thing media sometimes does where it takes us back in time a few weeks so we can build up to and expand that moment. The game puts us in the Mediterranian Sea, where Lara is looking for clues to Avalon, as mentioned at the end of Legend. The game ends up going almost full Norse mythology as Lara's venturing in the caves of the sea leads her to discovering a gauntlet of Thor. Only to then be ambushed by soldiers of no other, Amanda. The soliders knock Lara out and take the gauntlet but leave her guns. They do take her bullets in a cutscene but that's silly because she has unlimited ammo in those things. The baddies start detonating the caves so we need to get out and make our way back to our boat. Doing this sets Lara off to the nearby baddie ship. Going guns a blazing on the ship results in Lara finding a big ole tube with none other than Natla within it. After some words are exchanged, Amanda shows up to break up the interaction and take Natla off the boat by helicopter. With the boat now going down because Lara's on it, Lara needs to get off of it and fire potshots at Amanda as she climbs the helicopter ladder. After taking a graze to the chin Amanda throws the gauntlet into the ocean, causing Lara to jump in and retrieve it. If you're wondering "Why would she do that?" it turns out it's Account-Bound to Lara from when she interacted with it before the goons stole it and is therefore useless to anyone but Lara. From the ocean to Thailand, Lara goes delving into ruins that she learns her father was once also looking into. Once she discovers a clue left by her father she goes home, taking us down into the crypts of Croft Manor where Lara finds that her father had the other gauntlet of Thor. Lara does the obvious and binds it to her as well, giving her access to a new mechanic that only appears like 4 times the entire game. However, we can't think about that now because an explosion takes us back through the beginning of the game where we find out the reason Zip wanted to dust Lara is because there's a Doppleganger, like from the end of Anniversary but not a full mimic and with skin! The doppleganger kills our other "over the comms" friend Alistar which is very sad, I think. Lara gets Allistar's body out of the crumbling house and goes back to business as usual, believing it will lead her to those responsible for his death. She's correct, but not immediately. First she needs to get the belt of Thor, which she does which then leads to the obvious "So can she wield Mjolnir?" and yeah, you totally can and it's totally sick! However, what isn't sick is needing Natla's help to get to Avalon, because oh yeah, that was the objective - but we needed our MacGuffins first! Lara uses the hammer on an identical looking boat to the one that went down earlier, freeing Natla with the assistance of Mjolnir and the doppleganger pulls an Episode VI and just yeets Amanda overboard. Upon arriving where Natla told us to go so we could go to Avalon, we find a thrall of our mom that Natla made, because trauma is cool. This has Lara shooting her mom thrall and finding out that yeah, the doppleganger listens to Natla and is going to kill us now, and that Natla lied and used Lara the same we she used Lara's dad. Natla's trying to bring about the end of the world and goes on her way to do that. The doppleganger is thwarted by Amanda who somehow lives and tells us to go finish Natla because "ending the world" wasn't part of her (Amanda's) plan. Upon arriving at the end of the game Lara has to platform her way around Natla's thralls and fireballs while making the world ending device unstable. After unstabilizing the device, Natla tries to save it but gets Mjolnir tossed at her head for her efforts. After taking Natla down, Lara goes to help Amanda while they try to figure our how to not die here. It's figured out by remembering what happened in Tomb Raider Legend and so Lara and Amanda pull the sword from the stone, sending them through the network and back to somewhere in the world, not sure where but I don't believe it's Bolivia. "The game ends" with Amanda and Lara going their separate ways and Excalibur staying in Lara's possession once again. - "The game ends" is what I WOULD say if I played this on any other platform, but for some reason the Xbox 360 exclusively got two post-story expansions. The first is Beneath the Ashes, which has Lara going back under the Manor (post explosion) and trying to recover an artifact that would, in theory, let Lara control the thralls much like Natla does. Fortunately, after finding the device she finds out that this works well indeed, as the doppleganger had showed up to finish the job before being converted under Lara's control and being sent to finish Natla. - The second expansion, Lara's Shadow has you playing as the doppleganger and it actually starts when Amanda yeets the doppleganger off of Lara before the final battle. The clone wakes up, beginning gameplay and it proceeds to look for Natla so it can help her cover. It finds her, helps her into a revitalization chamber and turns it on. Natla sends the clone off to finish Lara then finish itself (rude). The game then puts us at the end of the prior expansion where Lara gains control of the clone with the device she found under the Manor. In an extended version of that scene, Lara frees the clone of it being bound to servitude and requests that it "Make sure Natla suffers". It does. It heads back to the place where Natla is resting, destroys the machine, and without uttering a word, lets Natla drown as she struggles to comprehend why it won't obey anymore. It's REALLY messed up, all things considered. THAT is how the game ends, and the trilogy for that matter as the series would get rebooted again in 2013, kicking off the Survivor trilogy.
If you don't care about the story start here - Now that the story is out of the way, here's the "game parts" per game:
Legend - Easiest of the three, outside of some wonky physics the game is pretty functional and a heck of a good time. Favorite level is Japan. Even though it's by far the shortest, it's the most pleasing to me in the game. Collectibles were pretty fun to obtain as well. I didn't get em all but felt good about the ones I did find. Gunplay is also the most basic of the three but it's the one I like the most because Anniversary and Underworld just feel like they have gimmicks strapped on. A complaint many would have is how short and linear the game is. None of the levels really ever wrap around on themselves and some are legitimately just a straight line. It's an entertaining straight line, though.
Anniversary - Definitely the hardest of the three games, not in combat, just some of the platforming and timing windows are incredibly tight. I definitely struggled through some of the later sections, but I still enjoyed myself. This one definitely feels the most "Tomb Raider" because it's a remake. My main complaint are how many QTEs there are and me personally not being a fan of the Adrenaline Dodge. It felt incredibly inconsistent. This one I believe is a Backwards Compatibility issue but may be worth noting - on an Xbox One X, this game has a little strip of pixels in the bottom left corner of the screen. It goes away during cinematics but is otherwise there during gameplay and honestly looks like a dying GPU. It's not, fortunately, but it IS consistent enough of an issue that you can look up XBX gameplay videos of this particular game and see the pixels in the capture or even people in the comments saying, "Oh I see that you have the issue too". The only way I've "fixed" this is through HDMI Override on the Xbox and TV setting finicking to effectively zoom in just enough of the screen where those pixels are off view. Favorite section of the game was the Midas Palace, also enjoyed the visual of the Sphynx in Sanctuary of the Scion as well.
Underworld - My goodness, the camera is absolutely dreadful. It's almost like it's trying to be "stuck" to Lara so any time you're climbing you can see the camera jitter vertically a little bit. It also loses its mind in tight places, very nauseating. Gunplay is fine, you have all of the weapons from the start and swap through them on the PDA so Ammo is really never a problem. It also had an "Adrenaline" Mode that you built up rather than it being forced upon you, it One Hits literally anything so it's best to save it on "elites". Pretty handy at the end of the game but I definitely forgot about it for the first several hours. I didn't have a favorite level for this game, but I did appreciate how big some of the levels like Remnants/Bhogavati and The Unnamed Days/Xibalba are - visually a lot of them were very nice and I can tell "Next Gen" was a focus considering those open levels are absolutely littered with things like reacting foliage just to push it a little more. That being said while they looked nice, I didn't really love playing through them, especially when going through them too quickly shows pop-in issues. Last words are that I wish the DLCs weren't tied to the platform, they're honestly good stories and super fun puzzles for what they are, even if they are wrapped in Underworld's engine troubles.
Soooooooooooooooooo yeah, that's pretty much it - there's some top notch platforming and some really pretty levels marred in some annoying camera, hit detection and physics issues across all three titles. Still an absolutely worth it adventure if you don't mind when a game fights back a little :)
My ranking is: 1. Legend (Mostly for nostalgia) 2. Anniversary (if it weren't for my nostalgia, this would be #1) 3. Underworld (Idk, I didn't hate it but the Story/DLC and visuals are really all that game has going for me personally)

2023.05.29 05:12 Adrians_Journeys Our 5th Anniversary

Our 5th Anniversary
Yesterday would have been our 5th anniversary, and I was so excited for this major milestone in our relationship. Adrian only missed it by a month, and I was determined to still celebrate it with him. As you know, his lion never leaves my side - I even have a customized bag to carry him around in to keep him safe. I am a big believer in keeping memory bears or other similar items so our loved one may live on with us. This lion was Adrian's, and I made sure to get it after his passing. We do everything together, and I have daily conversations with him during our daily walks (it's also good Spanish practice for me).
Yesterday morning, I got up early while Adrian's lion was still "sleeping" (Adrian always loved to sleep in on the weekends). I ran to the store to buy chocolates and flowers to surprise him. We then spent the entire day together. We had a nice dinner at one of my favorite little Mexican restaurants and ensured he had his own glass of wine (I left it still full when we finished out of respect for him). He had never tried froyo so we had a really good chocolate froyo, and then I showed him some of the big gay bars in Chicago I had always told him stories about. Of course, wherever he went, he was very popular, and many people wanted to say hello to him. ❤️
I share this because this was a very therapeutic experience for me. I had expected the day to be a horrendously depressing one, but together - with him in spirit and me with his lion, we turned it into a very fun one. And I didn't cry once I went to bed - something that is very unusual (though I was so tired and tipsy by this point it definitely helped).
I will attach some photos for you all. I encourage anyone who is struggling with loss to try something similar. I really wish to "normalize" this sort of thing - just because your loved one is physically gone, doesn't mean they are gone spiritually. And I strongly believe Adrian's spirit is alive and well in his lion. But I'll let you all be the judge. 😊
I surprised him with some goodies when he got out of bed.
We had a very nice wine toast to celebrate our anniversary. This was the most difficult part of the day - I did cry a little and could not help it.
We shared some delicious Mexican food.
He made his first froyo. The lady behind the counter was LOVING this.
I ate half but left his half uneaten out of respect. We had a little accident with the chocolate sprinkles, so that's why it looks like it does.
His first time at Sidetrack - the biggest gay bar in Chicago. I think he loved it!
We also did some people watching. They all loved him!
We went to another one of my favorite bars and tried another drink.
Always so friggin' handsome...
We ended with a martini! I usually get him his own small one, but we were both pretty tipsy by this point. 😅
I hope this may bring some hope and new ideas to all of you. It has only been a month since his passing and I am not going to say that it's any easier, but I feel like I can finally show him the things I always wanted to share with him, even if it's in a different form than what I expected. Thank you for sharing this experience with us, and you are all in my thoughts and in my heart. ❤️

2023.05.29 05:12 ufo_soup Some questions to get this into playable condition

Some questions to get this into playable condition
I got this shamisen as a gift today. A few general questions here, and some more specific ones in the pictures so I can get this in playable condition. I couldn't find any markings on the case or instrument to determine how old it was or what the brand was (I'm thinking this is probably common with shamisen). I did find a receipt from 1994, so I'm guessing it's at minimum 30 years old, as well as someone's name 吉田利晶 (Yoshida Toshiaki?).
  1. Where is the best place to order strings if you live in the US?
  2. Can anyone recommend any stores in Japan to buy strings and accessories? I'll be going to Tokyo/Yokohama/Sapporo this summer. A no English environment is fine. I speak enough Japanese to buy some strings.
  3. Any special storage concerns? Do I need a humidifiedehumidifier like you would for a high end acoustic guitar? I live in the Pacific Northwest, so the summers can get around 60% humidity, but nothing extreme like Florida.
  4. Any favorite books, youtube channels, or even paterons for learning to play? I play guitar but don't read sheet music very well if that makes a difference.
Seems to be in decent condition overall. Can't find any obvious damage other than the skin on the front being dirty and patched. Both the bridge and body are made of a dark lacquered wood.
A few questions here. Is it safe to wash the skin? The top of the skin near the neck has a large patch. I'm assuming I don't need to replace this unless a large tear develops? The bridge isn't fixed - is there a standard area to place it? When I bought it, it was not on the instrument, are you supposed to remove it for storage?
Is the ichi ito supposed to go into this groove? It's not staying put when I try to tune it! This is also by far the most sensitive string instrument I've ever tried to tune. I'm sure part of it is the stings are old and frayed and not likely to stay in tune anyway.
Does this knob on the back of the headstock behind the ichi ito need to be adjusted in any way to play?

2023.05.29 05:11 Entire-Amphibian320 Had to rehome my 2 Pekin and 3 Rouen ducks.

I had them free ranging in my back yard which is fenced in pretty tight with a large deck 30 inches off the ground which they used as their safe area. It was all good until they developed this behavior of quacking full volume at dawn. Boy it was loud enough to wake everyone up that has a bedroom facing the back yard with windows closed. I can only imagine what neighbors with open windows were thinking.
Going to miss them. I know they're just fowl, but each one had personality. I was slowly getting them to be more and more comfortable around me to the point where they'd be cool to a distance of around 12 inches from me. We had this cool system where they'd feast on compost that I was turning.

Summary: ducks are cool, but they can be LOUD quackers. Implement pre-emptive measures to avoid them wanting to quack at dawn hours.

2023.05.29 05:11 qwerty21b Marley should've given their titans cool looking knight armor

in the opening to season 4 we see that not even the armored titan is safe from modern artilliary. During his attack on the eastern allies base he has to resort to using the armored train as a shield to protect himself from anti titan weapons. this gave me an idea. Marley should make cool looking armor for their titans. in real life armor medieval armor didn't hamper the maneuverability of the wearer too much and the titans are shown to be very strong physically so they should be able to move around in any armor made for them.
the only titan in the show given armor is pieck. but she is only given armor for her face not her whole body. i imagine that marley would want to keep their titans safe, because they are an absolute symbol of marleys strength, and having a titan die would be a massive hit to morale. What better way to do that than with armor. the only titan i couldn't really see with armor is the jaw titan as he needs to be able to jump around, however i think every other titan could benefit from armor.
Of course this only applies in a planned war scenario though, as it wouldn't really be possible for titans to be given armor right as soon as they transform.
Above all else i think titans in armor would look kinda neat. mabye theywould look like the tower knight boss from demons souls.

2023.05.29 05:11 Mother_Chipmunk_700 27 [M4F] TN/US/CST-Is it too soon to start our journey?

Hi,
I am a work in progress. But I still think I’m ready for a loving relationship. I want to start the journey with my person.
I’m 27 years old and I have a fairly significant physical disability, cerebral palsy. That basically means that I need help with almost everything, from bathing, dressing, all that good stuff like that. I’ve had a couple other setbacks as well that have prevented me from really pursuing independence, but I’m starting that journey now in earnest. This might be TMI but I’m setting up a meeting with my parents so we can discuss a roadmap to maximum independence.
Having a disability has made it hard to “find myself.”I have a few major interests, namely politics, geography, and history. But I’m looking for more hobbies. I’ll be completely honest. It’s tough to develop your own identity when you rely someone else’s help That said, I do have a great passion for learning. Wikipedia is my favorite website in the world and I just love knowing a little bit about a lot of things.
As for TV, I like stand-up comedy, Saturday Night Live, Futurama, Ted Lasso. On the dramatic side, I like Breaking Bad Better Call Saul, Severance, stuff like that.
And I absolutely love music. I know that sounds generic but I literally have my headphones on for the majority of my date. It’s hard to talk about favorite artist or genres because I’m the type of person to find a song on spotify and play it over and over and over. Sometimes it is here a certain song, no matter the genre, and it just grabs me. In fact, I find it easier to communicate my feelings through song lyrics most of the time.
Now, for what I’m really passionate about, politics. I am a committed progressive/social democrat. Basically, I believe every human should be free to live how they wish, so long as they don’t harm others or themselves. This means I believe deeply in women’s rights and LGBTQ+ rights. I also believe that America, as a wealthy nation, has the resources to take care of its citizens. I believe in free enterprise, but I also believe that the government should create conditions which allow people to pursue full and fulfilling lives. This means support for a living wage, healthcare as a right, paid time off as a guarantee for every worker.
I’ve always felt this way but my philosophy really came together this past summer. My family and I were lucky enough to go on a trip to Ireland last July. We got to stay in a really nice hotel. Pretty much every room in the hotel had a view of this small lake. I don’t know what it was about that particular lake, but I couldn’t stop looking at it. I felt a sense of calm and contentment that I had never really felt before. And that's when I knew that everyone should be able to have the same feeling I had. At least a couple days a year where people can just relax, relatively free of worry. That’s what I want to fight for
Getting back to personal stuff. I also like to meet a girl and take her back to that hotel and share that sense of calm with her. Now, I am 5’7” tall and I am relatively heavy. I have a plan to lose some weight but it is difficult as someone who is relatively sedentary.
I am looking for a close and affectionate relationship. My disability has meant that I have had very little intimate contact of any kind. So I would like someone who is open-minded with a relatively high sex drive. I should say though. Due to disability reasons I may need a little blue pill. We can cross that bridge when we come to it though. I haven’t really experimented with it, but I am kink inclined. What that exactly means, I’m not sure yet.
I don’t really have any strict standards. All I ask is that you are between 20 and 35, single and willing to meet me relatively soon in Nashville, Tennessee.. I know I’m a work in progress. It’s going to take a where I’m going but I have a lot of love to give and I feel like I’m ready to give that to someone, at least.
Apologies for typos. They are pretty hard to avoid when using a dictation software.
As long as this is up, I am open to replies.
Face pic available upon request.

2023.05.29 05:11 ForeverEducational78 What happened?

I met this girl while I was still living in my country and we went on a few really good dates. We had a great connection and opened up about ourselves. Suddenly, due to some family matters, I had to go to a different country and take care of things for 5 months.
Although we only went on a few dates, we texted a lot for the first two months and even called each other a few times with conversations of about 1 hour each. Eventually the interaction got less frequent but we still interacted via social media etc.
Now, I’m back in my native country and she explicitly said she wanted to see me. However, she cancelled before our intended date on Tuesday but quickly said Wednesday would work.
She hasn’t responded to my texts since then. And I’ve sent multiple messages asking about possible times etc. What went wrong? What could have happened? ?

2023.05.29 05:11 softgirl_xo Someone stole my phone and I see the location is near me. Can I demand it back?

Last night was my last night a couple hours out of town on a work trip. I went out to a club with a couple of coworkers and my phone was stolen from my bag. I was able to see the location and it was taken to a random neighborhood and after I wasn’t contacted the next morning I knew it wasn’t going to be given back.
I live in a major city and drove back home today and got a replacement phone, but I still have access to the location of my stolen one. Turns out the person who took it also lives in my city and came back home today and is 20 minutes away from me.
I still have a year left of paying off the phone so I want to drive over and demand it back, but would I be within my rights to do that? I don’t know if I should get police involved or if they’d even be able to get involved. I’m not sure how to approach the situation. What should I do?

2023.05.29 05:10 Dry-Lawfulness-2642 Forth one

The sight of you makes me weak, the look in your eyes is intoxicating, the softness of your lips makes my heart skip, the touch of your hand in mine shows me that life is worth living, your smile is like a shining light in the darkest of rooms, with my every being I want you so, I watch you smile as you slowly remove your shirt, you bite your lip as you remove your bra, pull me in close, put my hands to your chest, allow me to caress you, feel you, before you press my face against your breasts, I miss them, I squeeze them, I trace your nipples with my tongue, softly bite them, as I suck on them, I hear you moan, as you squeeze my head harder, slowly I slide up to your shoulder, biting and kissing, before I sink my teeth into your neck, I feel your body relax and melt like butter in my hands, I pull your head back with a handful of hair, as you gasp I slide my tongue in your mouth, as you grip my body even harder, you push me down, as I sit there and smile, you slowly slide your pants down, you turn around and bend over to remove them completely, I reach out and squeeze that ass, I pull you back to me, I smack that ass, I give you the spanking you deserve, I kiss it, I bite it, I slide my face between your thighs to get a quick taste of that already soaking pussy, you push me back, and sit on my lap, pull one of my hands to your inner thigh, and the other to your throat, I slide those wet panties to the side as I slip a finger in, just to feel the waterfall of excitement you exhale, with my hand on your throat I pull you back, I kiss your lips, while my fingers explore your others, I let you watch, as I taste you off my fingers, as you grind that ass on my rock hard cock, teasing, trying to make me explode before it's even out, you slide off your panties and my fingers play even harder, as you pull my hand up to lick yourself from my fingers, you turn around and face me, grinding even harder, knowing I'm getting closer and you've barely touched me, I grip your ass firmly and lift you to my shoulders, licking, and slurping the very essence of your soul, I hear your breathing get heavy, your subtle moans you try to hide, until you can know longer hold on, and as you grip my hair, you let out a squeal, that only makes me grip you tighter, hold you down, and devour you like it's my last meal, as I release my grip, you rip off my shirt and force me to stand, as you look into my eyes, you remove what's left of my clothes, run your tongue up the shaft of my cock, the teasing pleasure forcing me to hold on with everything I have, you smile and softly stroke, as your mouth finds it's way to my ball's, slowly losing my battle, I shove my cock down your throat, hair in each hand, I thrust in and out of your mouth, staring into your eyes, listen to every gasp, every choke, until you feel my body tighten, and you grasp firmly as I unload every drop down your throat, with a smile on your face and sparkle in your eyes, you swallow every last drop, and continue to suck my soul from my body, forcing me to allow it, not letting me move, trying so hard for a second help, as I squirm, and moan, my body tightening once again, as you strock the shaft, and suck on the head, you welcome another mouthful with a smile on your face, you make sure you squeeze every last drop out, licking my cock up and down like a popsicle, I pull you up to me, I kiss those lips as I sit you on my lap, I feel your breathing change as I slide inside of you, your body already pulsating, as I slowly lift you up and down, helping you ride me, pulling you down to kiss my more, holding you tight as I pound you from below, and sink my teeth into your shoulder feeling your fingernails dig into my back, I roll you to your back, lift your feet to my shoulders and continue to slide in and out, staring into your eyes, making sure I don't miss a moment, I slip my hand to your throat, and watch your eyes rol back, I pull out and slide down, licking you once again, only to bend you over and slide my cock right back in, pulling you back by your hair, listening to the sounds you make, releasing your hair, pushing your face into the pillow, I plow even harder, spanking your ass, sure to leave my handprints, rolling you to your back again, pinning you down, feeling your fingernails dig into my back, feeling your body twist and turn and we both get near, I look into your eyes as we tighten up at the same time, and I explode inside of, you feel my cock pulsating as every drop enters you, while you orgasm with a smile on your face, I just want to stay in that moment forever, inside of you, you fit me like a glove....
