Hello,
I have 3 VLANs with 1 being my secure and 2 different just for IoT. My IoT VLans are named IoT_Main and IoT_Sub
My Home Assistant server and almost all of my IoT Devices are on my IoT_Main VLAN. I created an IoT_Sub for some questionable devices that could phone home like my POE cameras, Roborock Vacuums, no-name brand wifi devices .. etc etc.
My IoT_main has access to IoT_sub but my IoT_Sub is blocked to my IoT_main VLAN.
Since most of them are cloud based, my devices in IoT_sub integrates fine with my HA.
However, looks like the Roborock integration (HACS or official) uses local API to connect from/to the HA server.
While all my 3 vacuums are sitting on the IoT_sub -- I can see in the debug logs of Roborock that it can see the vacuums IPs but can't get info from it.
So for testing, I moved one of my Vacuums to my IoT_main and HA integrated only that vacuum fine but not the other 2. So clearly this is a VLAN issue.
Now I confirmed that its a firewall issue .. I would still like my Roborock to stay on my IoT_sub VLAN and does anyone know what port I need to open for my HA to integrate it?

Connected new Reolink 823a camera to surveillance station on Synology DS 220+ with no problem. Unable to connect live camera stream to Samsung smart tv tho. Tried DS Video app on Samsung - works for pictures and stored videos ... Also connected Samsung and NAS via DLNA but same problem. Suggestions for showing live camera feed on Samsung tv?

I’ve seen a lot of people complain about the “glitch” and how it makes no sense that no one spoke up about it. I keep seeing post after post about this “plot hole” and I came here to say… it’s not a production error. It makes perfect sense.
Think about it: In a world where lies are fed to you and anyone who questions them is silenced would you speak up about the truth if it literally was flashed right in your face? Think of Allison, screaming in a room full of people and bleeding… no one defended her, not even her own husband. She even showed him the birth control she’d fit out of her leg and he refused to believe. And what happened to Allison? She was sent to clean.I see everyone questioning the glitch, but no one mentioning Allison doing practically the same thing. Because fear controls the Silo.
Anyone who gave away any reaction to that screen would need to be confident enough to risk their life for it. The more people we see Juliette talk to, the more people we see have questions but are too afraid to speak about them publicly.
So if for a split second you saw what you thought was a glitch (without understanding any concept of cameras or CGI technology) would you speak up? I don’t think they simply didn’t notice, I just think they were smart enough not to say anything. That’s all I came to say! Just wanna explain that really quick to anyone calling this a “plot hole” or a production error. It’s not a mistake. It’s a message for us viewers, and a clever one at that

Hi all,
I'm new to the Home Security scene. I'm looking for security cameras that would fit the following requirements:

• Cameras that can be docked in or close to a window (sandwiched in between the window and window frame?) to overlook the front door, street, cars, and sidewalk on a city street.
• 24/7 monitoring
• WiFi connectivity only - connecting via Ethernet cable will not be possible
• Ideally under $100 each, but can go as high as $200
• Would prefer to avoid cloud storage
• Easy to access and export footage if necessary

Ever since we got our internet upgraded and frontier put a bunch of eero hubs throughout our oddly-shaped house, I have had constant connection issues. I need to reset the network pretty much daily so various devices will actually receive internet. Even without moving anywhere (ie an Amazon fire stick, wall mounted tv, Roomba base station) devices seem to just drop connection. It'll say it's connected, but with no internet. Every time this happens, other devices are on the network and the internet is working fine. Sometimes resetting the network, or unplugging the modem, router, switchgear etc for a while solves the issue. My home server, Samsung TV, and now my desktop absolutely refuse to connect. Well, they connect, but can't access the internet. I've factory reset the devices, I've reset the routers, I've checked with my phone hotspot to make sure the devices didn't coincidentally just break (they work fine). This internet system is an absolute nightmare and I have never had so many wifi issues. Nothing is even close to being out of range, like I said we have four different eero hubs throughout the house. There is always one nearby. They work like absolute garbage. I've tried manual IP addresses, changing DNS, everything I can think of. Samsung is clueless as to what the problem is with my TV (brand new several thousand dollar smart TV I can't use now), and frontier is worse than useless.
Does anyone know of some kind of third party professional I can hire to come and fix my internet issue? I'd be happy to pay someone, I just have no idea what to look for. Home internet expert?

So I was driving home last night from Liverpool to Manchester at around 02:00 and there was a very short stretch of the M602 and which displayed a congestion sign on the side of the road and a “60” yellow speed sign
There was no congestion on the roads, they were totally clear but I dropped to 60 anyway, very shortly afterwards a red sign displayed “50” so again I began reducing my speed anyway just in case
Where I’m confused is that I think I got down to about 54 just as I passed the sign (was just letting the accelerator go I stead of harder breaking as there were quite a lot of motorbikes on the road, there were other cars flying past me, they must have been doing well over 57mph, but when I passed I saw a flash from behind me!
Do you think It was the speed camera or could it have been a cyclists light? I just remember seeing one flash from behind
If it was the camera do I stand any chance with an appeal? There was a national speed limit sign literally a couple of meters ahead and there was no congestion so I’m thinking maybe the smart speed hadn’t been updated or something
Has this happened to anyone else before?
Very annoying because I always make an effort to be within the speed limit even when impatient drivers are trying to pressure me, and that part of the road is never usually capped at 50/60 as I get that road almost every day

A little over 2 years ago, I purchased a Lorex 8-Channel 4K camera system (NVR, 6 Cameras). Not doing too much research, I thought Lorex would be the best. Two years and $700 later, I am utterly disappointed in the system. Lorex advertised 'Smart Motion' where you can receive push motion alerts with the type of event (person, car, etc.) and that has never worked. So I only have regular motion alerts set up.
At night, the cameras continuously record motion alerts from rain, snow, or flying bugs. It makes it impossible to see true motion alerts, rendering the system useless.
The app on Lorex is okay, but the push notifications work when they want (which is almost NEVER) and when playing back content, it plays back in slow motion. I'm also disappointed that the cameras and NVR system has NEVER received any additional software updates.
I liked the system initially because I only set up 4 out of the 6 cameras, and it supported up to 8. I liked how there is a web interface to access the cameras, a mobile app, and the option to expand with WiFi devices as well. I HATE everything else.
I take full blame for not researching the product thoroughly before purchasing.

I am seeking advice on a new system to replace this piece of shit and looking for your advice. What brands do you recommend, what system do you use?

Hi all,
I have quite limited experience wiring residential network gear but have never designed a system of this scope and would appreciate any input you can offer.
3000sqft house being built for a couple who both stream on Twitch, game lots and generally use a whole lot of bandwidth.
My plan of attack will be:
Fibre internet supplied to residence
___________ POE switch
???? Patch Panel ????
3 x smart TV cat6e drops
3 x Xbox cat6e drops
3 x cat6e Ubiquiti UniFi 6 Lite Access Point WIFI extenders POE
3 x General cat6e drops at office spaces.
Things get less straight forward when trying to select which POE switch is best for this application while saying relatively affordable (under $500 ideally).
Also curious if a patch panel is recommended, or can I simply terminate RJ45’s onto my drops and plug straight into the switch?

I created this channel so I could talk about true crime stories to my heart's content. I didn't have anyone IRL I could talk with about those things. But on the internet, I was able to get a small following. Very small, but it was worth it.
I was live streaming like that for 3 years. Here, watch this video.
I thought people were finally starting to see me, but I guess I was wrong.
(From the video she pulled up, Car engine noise, tires screech, engine again as they drive away.
Around the start of my 4th year of streaming, I was live, while walking through my neighborhood, like I had a hundred times before. The difference was, this time some idiot driver decided to jump the curb. My camera recorded everything, but that driver didn't notice me.
In the end, no one really did….until after.
I mean after the funeral. Early on in my, uhh, career, I convinced my parents and friends to allow my funeral to be live streamed. Of course I meant it as a joke at the time. But if anything happened to me, then at least my final video would be something worth clicking on.
And that's exactly what happened. My funeral stream went viral. It was a while ago, so most people have forgotten. Luckily, it did give me enough true fans to bring me back.

That's right, their support brought me back to life. Sure, my body is gone, but I got a better one.
What you see, the me on the screen, that's just data. Something to make the viewing experience more pleasant. But the real me? Electricity. Energy that lives all around you,
Now I can stream what I want, when I want, where I want.
I usually just stream for the same audience every day.
