Would greatly appreciate any advice. I am an American living in Germany since March 2020. I am a student here, I have no earned income from work at the present moment. I have capital gains & dividends income from the sale of stocks back in the US from a small trust, which I use to support myself while studying.
My current Steuerberater (tax consultant) has been in negotiations with the German tax authorities for more than a year, regarding my 2020 and 2021 taxes (so I have not successfully completed paying taxes to Germany yet). I have just received notice from them that I have a very large tax bill because “they unfortunately didn’t recognize a lot of the taxes you’ve paid in the US”…(I am up to date paying my US taxes)…
I don’t know whether this Steuerberater is just not appropriately doing their job - or if indeed I need to pay the full capital gains taxes to Germany - even though I’ve already paid in the US….I understand that going forward I should pay the taxes in Germany first, and then hopefully be relieved of the tax burden on my US taxes, but my question is what to do about the current situation on my 2020, 2021, and 2022 taxes to Germany….should I be looking for a new Steuerberater who can argue better for getting Germany to acknowledge/accept the taxes I have already paid to the US? Is this even possible? Or do I pay the full amount to Germany and then try to get a reduction on taxes to the US going forward?

I have a US spec 2022 Wind AWD with 23,000 miles on these Kumho tires. In my less than 9 months of ownership I've had two tires patched from slow leaks and I just had to have the foam lining removed from a tire since it separated from the inner tire wall and created massive vibrations in the steering wheel. With one of the patches my local shop pulled a stone that was less than 1/4" from the tread where it punctured the tire. Yes, it was pointy and sharp but also comically tiny.
I'm I just extra special lucky or are others having issues with these tires? I really hope there are more options for our vehicles when it comes time to replace these.

New 2022 lease. So far, so good except that the car loses 2-3% of its charge every day whether the car is driven or not. We left it in the garage for 8 days, charge went from 85% to 56%, with temps between 60 and 77 degrees F. Is this normal? If not, any ideas on why it would be happening (dealer says we should expect the car to lose 2-3% a day, but doubting the sales guy's expertise).

Costco has the "TP-Link Deco AX5700 Tri-Band Whole Home Mesh Wi-Fi 6 System (4-pack)" on sale right now for $250 off. I'd like to buy it if it has support to set an additional SSID on EACH mesh point along with the shared SSID that they'll all have, just like Mesh Routers such as the AmplifiHD support. Note that I need to have the system in Router Mode, not AP mode. So, I would want all mesh points to have an SSID of "home" for example, but also have the mesh point in the den to have an additional SSID of "home-den" for those devices that I want to ONLY ALWAYS connect to the den. Unfortunately, the "TP-Link Deco AXE5300" did not support this feature, so I returned it.

Croke Park has become woefully over used in recent years - in fact it is one of the busiest stadia of its size in the world, hosting close to 90 games in 2022. The pitch was beginning to look very tired around the time of the club finals this year.
If Carrick is full to the gills for Galway Armagh then that's great. A full provincial venue is one of the unique things about the GAA that we need to embrace and promote.
I was dreading an inevitable announcement of a Croke Park double header for Louth/Kerry and Dublin/Sligo attracting a crowd not even big enough to fill the bottom tier of Croke Park but both games now will feel more electric in venues more befitting of the size and occasion.
Now, if they could go a step further and remove the preliminary quarter finals we could have a real occasion to savour every year with the final rounds being played to packed provincial grounds on a "judgement day" type occasion.

- What's a good cold tire pressure to use, where it's high enough to be safe, low enough to be comfortable, and high enough to be safe for my normal usage (2 adults, 1 kid, a stroller) but also high enough to be safe for occasional higher usage (3 adults, 1 kid, a couple suitcases of luggage) during airport trips? 35/35? I don't want to have to change tire pressure for occasional airport trips, and I want max safety and comfort in the meantime, and minimal need to refill the tires.
- The tire pressure shown in the service menu on the wheel where it shows the 4 tires plus the temp of each, I assume that is the current live actual pressure, is that right?
- Is there any way to see most recent tire pressure from the Mercedes app, or does it just show whether the most recent tire pressure was close to the levels set for the TPMS?

At the end of March 2022, I started working on a webapp that lets you review Twitch and YouTube Livestreams of raid sessions. I got tired of trying to align the Local Time (LT) in the VOD to report timetamps to find the one pull I was currently analyzing and was inspired by the tool that Nnoggie developed for Echo during their Sepulcher of the First Ones Race to World First. His original tweet
With this tool you can easily share your own POV and scrub through a VOD effortlessly. There is an included timeline for seeking within a pull with integrated death indicators. Additionally, a table populates when a pull is selected to give a glance at the death info.
If you want to analyze a pull in more detail, then there are also quick links to FFLogs.
It also features encounter saving so you can come back another time without leaving your tab open and a "robust" (read: basic) sharing functionality for sending someone else your POV.

I’m looking into buying an EV vehicle under $45k from a dealership in CA. They are not familiar with how to register with WA DOL and calculate the WA sales tax by honoring sales tax exemption for the first $20k, as per Alt Fuel WA State Tax Exemption incentive.
So far what I have googled, there are two options:
If anybody has purchased an EV from CA and registered the car in WA and was able to get the sales tax exemption for an EV, can you tell what process was followed? Will really appreciate any advice.

Once in WA, I file for registration and show proof of sales tax paid in CA, that way I don't pay the sales tax again in WA, where both state has generally sales tax around 10%.
- I arrange a shipping company that will pick the EV from the dealership and drop the car in WA. This way EV will not drop its tires in CA, so no CA sales tax to be paid at CA dealership. I’ll then register the EV with DOL WA and pay the sales tax for the first time.
If anybody has purchased an EV from CA and registered the car in WA and was able to get the sales tax exemption for an EV, can you tell what process was followed? Will really appreciate any advice.

Hi! I have a 3 year old tiel and where best friends. She loves to hang out of my shoulder, sit in a perch next to my desk and hang out while I do work, she chirps at me like we’re having a conversation and she LOVES scratches and head rubs, she’s super duper affectionate and friendly.
However since I’ve gotten her, back in November 2022, she always HATED coming out of her cage. Every time I put my hand in the cage to bring her out she’s runs away despite her begging and chirping when I get home to let her out. If I leave the door open she’ll climb out no problem and be perfectly fine. I’ve tired having her associate my hand with food with millet and other treats, which she has 0 problems with outside the cage. Outside the cage she lets give her tons of affection and touch and she’s even fly to my hand semi- on command.
She has no problems with my hands outside the cage. How can I fix this or should I accept this behavior as boundary of hers.

Fellow Eugene cps, where do you get your medication from? So far I have been to Walgreens, Walmart, and Costco. I am young, and often, mainly Walmart, will take their moral high ground and not give me my medication. They most common responses from Walmart are "there's an interaction with another medication" or "you're probably going to overdose" or "take this naloxone" while staring at me like I am pure garbage. Now, Costco, my god, they may fill everything and not say anything but it takes them almost a week to refill a medication I've had for years. Walgreens is the same though I've heard they are the only pharmacy that has the "right" to not dispense medication if they believe it's not right for you. There was gigantic class action lawsuit with about every single pharmacy dispensing opiates. I know it's a hot topic around here, but people need them to have a good day. Even a decent day. I am so tired of wondering when and if I'll get my medication on time. Anxiety makes pain worse.

I’ve tested the Spot Rocker 29, the specialized fuse comp 27.5+, and Santa Cruz Chameleon.
My takeaways from the rides:
Spot Rocker: best Frame compliance and climbing ability, saddle liked to snag my shorts, geo wasn’t the most confident descending, step cast 34 feels great but isn’t compatible with 27.5+, at the very top of my budget, scared to damage frame (I’m over 200lbs ready to ride).
Fuse: not as great climber, much more confident descending (monster trucks over everything), least compliant and comfortable frame, no adjustable geometry, fork left something to be desired. Overall component spec was not great for the price, rockshox recon, sram nx, cheapest sram brakes, plastic abs cheap feeling dropper lever. Currently priced at $2500 locally.
Chameleon: frame was more comfortable than the specialized by a significant margin, has adjustable geometry, paint is as nice as the spot, is good at climbing, and is about as confident as the specialized on descents, saddle got out of the way and was very easy to manual and bunny hop, hub meh, brakes good, shifting good, the rhythm 34 is excellent, and the stock maxxis tires are very grippy, currently on sale for only $2600 (R29).
Currently, I’m leaning towards the chameleon. I found it to be within budget with room to spare, has an excellent paint job, and is basically better than the specialized in very way for only $100 more. The spot was nice but the saddle left something to be desired, and despite the frame being amazingly compliant it didn’t descend the best and I’m worried I might break it.
So far the Santa Cruz Chameleon is my favorite of the bunch. At its sale price I feel it offers good value and I feel like it’s a bike I can grow and learn with as a rider.
So really my question is based on the fact I like the chameleon, what other hardtails should I try and demo, some have told me the salsa timberjack is comparable, and it has even better value in terms of what components you get for the price.
I won’t buy a bike that I can’t ride first so direct to consumer, and small brands like RSD and Ragley are out.

So far the Santa Cruz Chameleon is my favorite of the bunch. At its sale price I feel it offers good value and I feel like it’s a bike I can grow and learn with as a rider.
So really my question is based on the fact I like the chameleon, what other hardtails should I try and demo, some have told me the salsa timberjack is comparable, and it has even better value in terms of what components you get for the price.
I won’t buy a bike that I can’t ride first so direct to consumer, and small brands like RSD and Ragley are out.
