I work in an entertainment park/zoo/hotel in the maintenance division. Most people work here seasonal. The CEO of the company changed about 6 years ago and he replaced most of the management. Long term employees with leading roles were fired or degraded. New ones were put in place. Since that day most of the sales have been going down and public news has been negative. Guests complain about food prices being 3x to 5x times the usual rate and parking prices changing overnight while guests are sleeping. The CEO orders to turn down ventilation, heating and water flow to a minimum in order to keep costs at a bare minimum of what's needed.
The new employees can just drive to the stores around here and order whatever they need for the park. Nobody controls what's ordered or what's needed. This results in lots of surplus goods and multiple people ordering the same things. Leaving us with several of the same objects. This seems very uneconomical to me.
Management brags to each other about how they ordered a power washer for the park since they needed to clean their terraces at home. This is just a small example.
This weekend there was nearly no staff in the hotel and rooms were filled with guests. The kitchen wasn't performing as usual and had to serve cold food. Rooms weren't cleaned in between stays and maintenance wasn't performed. Management told all employees to stay home. Resulting in chaotic situations and lots of guest complaints over the weekend.
What's the purpose of all this? Is the corporation being raided?

Hi! My best friend bought us a pair of tickets to Boston but realized afterwards that he is coming back around to a more intimate venue much closer to home. I still want to attend the Boston show but she accepted other responsibilities for the 31st, so I am selling the spare ticket.

I hate anybody who’s racist with an amazing passion. And I really don’t trust people that when I tell someone I was targeted cause of my race, they denounces it like “I haven’t seen any racism towards these people here”, or “people are nice maybe your the problem?”.
It seems like all I can do about being racially abused is rant. Yes people call me terrorist cause I’m the problem sitting in the corner drinking my own coffee doing my course work and minding my business.
It hurts knowing that now my happiness/energy levels are taking a hit because some people genuinely don’t want any interaction or whatever to do with me simply because of a stupid colour?
And as of recently when I try to seek comfort or help from others, people throw the situation back at me like there MUST be something wrong with me that’s why someone behaved a certain way and not because they’re racist…
I’ve developed this unhealthy doubt in my head in certain situations that I need to learn how to undo yet I feel like at times, I see it, when their decisions are motivated by race, you can somewhat always tell.
It’s confusing in certain situations because did I do something wrong that I can maybe address next time that was an actual decision I made that was bad or are you just another racist piece of shit that’s moving cause a brown dude sat beside you and the first thing you connect is the stereotypes/negativity?
If your racist and your reading this, I hope you step on Lego while it’s pointing upwards and then lands awkwardly as you step on it. If you denounce racist acts like they didn’t happen or “others have it worse” or try to attack the person and not be supportive then screw you too shitbag.

Today's first episode will be dedicated to a general guide to Pyrrhia, its general geography and where to go on vacation.

Pyrrhia is one of two currently known continents in the world and is similar in size to Pantala. Despite this, no one has yet bothered to measure it in meters, but we can reasonably say that it is larger than North America.
It is so huge that it would take an adult dragon several days to cross it from side to side. Considering the fact that we don't know the average flight speed of an adult dragon (and nobody is stupid enough to go and measure it), this doesn't help humans much.

The fact that it looks like a dragon in shape (like Pantala) can only be a coincidence.
​
The Pyrrhan climate is extremely varied, but mainly fertile and suitable for hosting herds of large animals in large quantities.
The fact that all these different and opposite climates coexist together and are perfectly separated can only be a coincidence (otherwise how did you divide the territory, eh?)
​
The eastern part is considerably more prosperous, especially considering that its forests are continuously watered by the clouds that form on the only noteworthy mountain range: the Claws of the Clouds Mountains. The Jade Mountain is part of it: the highest mountain on the continent and which vaguely resembles the head of a demon with two horns. The height of these mountains varies from a useless pebble to a monstrous titanity towering above the clouds.
These mountains are part of the Sky Kingdom, which is unjustifiably bigger than the other kingdoms because yes.

These mountains almost perfectly separate the east and west, moving from the "wing" of the island to the "underbelly".
​
On the "butt" and on the "hind limb" there are two clusters of rainy and far too humid environments for any normal person (or dragon): the jungle (the Rainforest Kingdom) and an incredibly stable mile-long swamp (the Mud Kingdom, which by necessity of the plot does not follow the normal laws of the marshes which say that in a few years they transform into an earthy plain but so be it).
The jungle is much more thriving than other rainforests like the Amazon and Borneo, perhaps because dragons don't have chainsaws.
The swamp, on the other hand, is very simply a large swamp, neither more nor less. If you like crocodiles and mosquitoes, this is for you.

Fun fact: the Mud Kingdom has been the guest of numerous episodes of "Naked and Afraid" (only on Discovery Channel).
​
The "tail" ends in a large archipelago dotted with small islets with a tropical climate and suitable for being invaded by tourists in the summer (if it weren't for the storms), with a few large islands important enough to have a name.
This place is a heaven on earth, with clear waters, nature and sunshine (except for the sharks, but who cares).
​
The west of the continent is occupied by two totally opposite macro-regions.
The "belly" is occupied by the vast desert that is the Kingdom of Sand. It is a desert. Stop. A sandy desert. And hot. And full of poisonous creatures like the inhabitants.
​
The "head" instead, for unspecified reasons (saying "work of magic" is not enough) is occupied by a frozen and snowy wasteland that collides with the sands of the desert below. It is the Ice Kingdom, where any creature not used to -30 degrees below zero will have a short life. But there are penguins, which is always good and right.
​
The "front limb" was once occupied by the Kingdom of Night, which has disappeared underwater due to global warming caused by its inhabitants' bonfires. It was very dark and rocky, a very large chain of canyons and territories of black stone interspersed with lush forests.
​
Probably the continent hates the Nightwings, as their later homeland was also destroyed. It was a horrendous island full of ash, smoke and inhospitable rocks, with a very comfortable active volcano near which it liked to destroy everything (why it didn't make the island fertile as usually happens with volcanoes is not yet understood).
​
Considering that the Nightwings have moved to the aforementioned jungle, I would advise its inhabitants to pack up and leave, before, I don't know, an earthquake, tsunami or tornado destroys that as well.
​

The sea around the continent is completely absent of islands and mainland outlets, so much so that it is extremely difficult to get there by flying, since one cannot even land for a second to rest and have a coffee break. Judging by the eerie figures of sea serpents and krakens on the maps though, we can say that flying is perhaps
​

I tend to play lots as small/minor european powers, and as such I usually don't get the choice clay that my nation truly deserves. I usually end up with a small developed core, with tons of tiny chunks ripped from various struggling countries as far away as my naval range can go. Are there many examples from history like this?
I can think of the various viking conquests where they conquered/settled/raided all over the place, but it's not like those places became part of a unified viking nation. The crusades took land in the middle east, but those became independent kingdoms/duchies in their own right. Colonialism in general claimed little bits and pieces for the mother country, but those were generally unequal struggles between conquering empires and smaller tribes/federations.

Hey all, Just wondering what are some tips for trying to get into a different industry outside of the clinical lab ? I only have 4/5 years experience and really would like to work in a lab outside of healthcare but I haven’t been too successful with landing interviews.

I (M) come from a well-off family compared to my in-laws. As a result, I'm often expected to be "generous" and spend money on them(FIL & MIL) . For years I've been handling their vacation expenses (we go as a family). If I don't? Then I get lots of guilt-trips and so on. I got so sick of it and arguing went nowhere so I had an idea...
I arranged for the family vacation (since they were counting on me to pay for them) I took care of reservation, hotel booking etc. Truth is, I pretended and fooled them into thinking I was paying for them then at the airport, I flatout told them I did not book tickets for them and that if they still wanted to go, they'd have to pay for their own tickets and get on the next flight and after the "initial shock" they decided to just pay for the tickets. Wife said nothing.
After wearrived to the hotel, I turned to them and said that I did not book them a room and that they had to pay for it themselves or go home. They ended up paying and I only paid for food and some other stuff that cost me way less then I'd usually spend when I paid for everyone in the past.
Vacation was a.m.a.z.i.n.g and I enjoyed it A LOT (don't know if I enjoyed the land-scapes more than my inlaws "face-scapes when they were pissed because they had to pay). We went home and my inlaws were furious saying I lied to them, I tricked them and said they want the money they spent back. I argued with them and my wife said I was being manipulative and sneaky and forced her parents to "waste" the little money they had and ruined it for them. I said they shouldn't go on vacations they can't afford then. She called me financially abusive and the 3 of themnare mad and refusing to speak to me.
I guess I should've been honest and said I wouldn't pay for them from the get-go. AITA
