2023.06.08 20:15 realbigflavor What is your experience subcontracting a Data Engineering department, or being part of a company that subcontracts its Data Engineering.
TL;DR: What are your thoughts and opinions of DE Consultants in general? Do we just have bad DEs? Are these problems to be expected regardless of who does the DE?
I'm a business intelligence analyst for small company (revenue <300 million usd a year), and we currently hire "Consultants" to do our entire Data Engineering Pipeline. We have a guy in IT that gives us access to the tables, but the consultants do literally everything else.
We have had constant issues for our entire life. Tables disappearing, columns being renamed without warning, data not loading etc etc. basically all of the problems you can have in a database- we have 'em.
We are currently looking to hire yet another Data Engineering consultant, but I'm not sure if this is the way to go and if we won't just be having the same exact problems with the new consultants because in my opinion, the main issue is that they are consultants, and they can't really be held responsible at the same level as someone who works directly for our company can be, and that to them, columns and data entities will basically just be numbers to them, and they can NEVER know our business or what the data means and how it should be organized.

2023.06.08 20:14 Moqueta_17 What should I do now?
I was hesitant to write this post because I didn't know if I was going to get the typical toxic comments from players who have nothing better to do than go around annoying other people on the internet (which is what happened to me the last time I did something like this, calling me "p*ssy" and telling me to stop complaining, and that the game would be better without people like me), but here goes: I'm honestly very unmotivated with Overwatch.
First I should introduce myself: hi, I'm Moqueta, and I'm a veteran Overwatch player (actually I've been playing since Season 2 non-stop, even in its worst moments); but don't worry, I'm not here to complain about the game like all the stale posts that constantly come out, I think that apart from the immense amount of unfulfilled promises it has, in a technical sense they are taking good care of the game (I'm talking about balance) , but the positive ends here, now comes the ugly part that is EVERYTHING else; I sincerely believe that the game has much bigger problems that the ones I mantion here but... Let's start.
We start with the most notorious in games, toxicity, it's something that has increased substantially since it became free, and I wouldn't mind if we were talking about other games like League of Legends, but Overwatch? A game that has always been substantially less toxic than average? We are literally talking about me having to drop ranked midway due to issues beyond my control, and people cheering me on, and wishing me good luck; Now it occurs to me not to do what my support wants even though it's the stupidest idea he could have because he saw it on Tiktok, he wishes me and my entire family dead (and no, the classic argument that the community It was just as toxic before, it's not worth it, because it's a huge lie, the community before was not even half as toxic as it is now).
Linking the previous point with this one, it's amazing that in my Diamond rank games, BRONZE and MASTER players appear on both teams, and that on top of that, no matter how many I win, I always place myself in Diamond even though I'm supposed to sweep a Diamond 3 game; Honestly here I don't want to play because what's the point of playing competitive if no matter what I do, the rank doesn't represent my ability, and my games place me with people who aren't even close to my level? This is a real problem that absolutely everyone complains about (and rightfully so), but what I find inexcusable is that Blizzard took it upon themselves to hide the ranks, and not fix it for 4 ENTIRE SEASONS (and they are not doing anything about it).
Continuing on the path of depression, and what hurts me the most is that Overwatch no longer does anything to really make its players fall in love beyond taking out skins, they don't even make an effort to make the new heroes exciting (to say that before they took out at least 4 base legendaries, and now there are only 2...); before the release of a new hero was an EPIC event, which had the entire community stirred and excited, now it is something routine, it feels empty and cold, like everything the team is currently doing. The love that Jeff Kaplan had for his game was notorious, and even more so now that he's gone, because unlike Aaron Keller, he stood up for his team against Blizzard's abuses, and this is proven, he protected his employees through the time he gave his all to maintain the game and develop Overwatch 2; now playing Overwatch feels like being in a relationship where you give it your all, but the other person has given in to the monotony (actually, before there was a balance patch every week, now we have one a month), in fact Aaron Keller doesn't even bother to show his face when they put out a patch, it's just the team putting out a text statement a month, Jeff explained it in person and in depth, in a warm and personal way.
And while we're at it, let's talk about PVE, the great promise and reason for the number "2" in "Overwatch 2", now what? Of course, it is not the fault of the developers who work hard, but of Blizzard, who has never wanted to lift a finger for the game, and is only dedicated to seeking maximum "profitability" (for which they are also useless because they do not allow of losing the public and workers with their shitty decisions), at the cost of lying to us, and cutting off their funds, forcing them to work in conditions of slavery and with zero creative freedom, but, what now? Let me guess NOTHING like every time they promise anything, they didn't promise anything because they know they're going to do ANYTHING.
In short, Blizzard has taken it upon himself to destroy my favorite game, and I get so discouraged with it that I'm considering leaving it (or at least putting it away, or giving me a break) because I honestly don't feel like there are reasons to play it beyond how much I want to play it. I have always liked and what I loved Overwatch 1; partly out of respect for the developers, but on the other, to keep alive in my mind the memory of what was once "Overwatch", possibly one of the most incredible games of all time, which now doesn't even come close to the shadow of his glory (the balance is debatable).
What should I do now?

On April 18, 2023, Reddit announced it would begin charging for access to its API. Reddit faces real challenges from free access to its API. Reddit data has been used to train large language models that underpin AI technologies, such as ChatGPT and Bard, which matters to us at AskHistorians because technologies like these make it quick and easy to violate our rules on plagiarism, makes it harder for us to moderate, and could erode the trust you have in the information you read here. Further, access to archives that include user-deleted data violates your privacy.
However, make no mistake, we need API access to keep our community running. We use the API in a number of ways, both through direct access and through use of archives of data that were collected using the API, most importantly, Pushshift. For example, we use API supported tools to:

In 2021, again, in response to protests, Reddit’s admin promised a feature to report malicious interference by subreddits promoting Covid denial.
Reddit’s admin has certainly made progress. In 2020 they updated the content policy to ban hate and in 2021 they banned and quarantined communities promoting covid denial. But while the company has updated their policies, they have not sufficiently invested in moderation support.
Reddit admins have had 8 years to build a stronger infrastructure to support moderators but have not.
API access isn’t just about making life easier for mods. It helps us keep our communities safe by providing important context about users, such as whether or not they have a history of posting rule-violating content or engaging in harmful behavior. The ability to search for removed and deleted data allows moderators to more quickly respond to spam, bigotry, and harassment. On AskHistorians, we’ve used it to help identify accounts that spam ChatGPT generated content that violates our rules. If we want to mod on our phones, third party apps offer the most robust mod tools. Further, third party apps are particularly important for moderators and users who rely on screen readers, as the official Reddit app is inaccessible to the visually impaired.
Mods need API access because Reddit doesn’t support their needs.
We are highly concerned about the downstream impacts of this decision. Reddit is built on volunteer moderation labour that costs other companies millions of dollars per year. While some tools we rely on may not be technically impacted, and some may return after successful negotiations, the ecosystem of API supported tools is vast and varied, and the tools themselves require volunteer labour to maintain. Changes like these, particularly the poor communication surrounding them, and cobbled responses as domino after domino falls, year after year, risk making AskHistorians a worse place both for moderators and for users—there will likely be more spam, fewer posts helpfully directing users to previous answers to their questions, and our ability to effectively address trolling, and JAQing off will slow down.
Without the moderators who develop, nurture, and protect Reddit’s diverse communities, Reddit risks losing what makes it so special. We love what we do here at AskHistorians. If Reddit’s admins don’t reach a reasonable compromise, we will protest in response to these uncertainties.

2023.06.08 20:13 talklittle RIF will shut down on June 30, 2023, in response to Reddit's API changes
RIF will be shutting down on June 30, 2023, in response to Reddit Inc's API changes and their hostile treatment of developers building on their platform.
Reddit Inc have unfortunately shown a consistent unwillingness to compromise on all points mentioned in
my previous post:
- The Reddit API will cost money, and the pricing announced today will cost apps like Apollo $20 million per year to run. RIF may differ but it would be in the same ballpark. And no, RIF does not earn anywhere remotely near this number.
- As part of this they are blocking ads in third-party apps, which make up the majority of RIF's revenue. So they want to force a paid subscription model onto RIF's users. Meanwhile Reddit's official app still continues to make the vast majority of its money from ads.
- Removal of sexually explicit material from third-party apps while keeping said content in the official app. Some people have speculated that NSFW is going to leave Reddit entirely, but then why would Reddit Inc have recently expanded NSFW upload support on their desktop site?
I will do a full and proper goodbye post later this month, but for now, if you have some time, please read this informative, and sad, post by the Apollo dev which I agree with 100%. It closely echoes my recent experiences with Reddit Inc:

2023.06.08 20:13 Kahzgul [Near As I Can Tell...] Priorities, People! (A Youngling's Illustrated Primer)
Hello.
My name is Kahzgul. You may know me from
my shockingly above average conquest guide, the incredible seething hatred I hold for the
Inquisitorus faction, or that one time
I opened up photoshop just to shit on CG's
art team underpaid and overworked intern.
But I'm not here to talk to you about that today.
No, I'm here to speak to all of the young men, women, and bith of the SWGoH community, and to help you help yourself when it comes to determining what to farm, when to farm it, and whether blue or green milk tastes better (it's green; I'll explain why later).
You see, every day, a little boy or girl posts something that asks the question, "should I farm this (endgame content)?" And I have been moved by their plight. There is no greater good than that of a good soldier following orders, and second to that, love of the empire, but third - a distant third - is raising the younglings to become powerful sand people, in their prime, ready to take on the OH GOD IT'S ANAKIN AND WHAT IS HE DOI---
I'm sorry about that. The previous writer has been sacked. Or, rather, diced into tiny barbecue squares by a bloodthirsty jedi master, who - despite his great acumen - was not granted a seat on the council. Quite unfair. If something like that were to happen to me, well, I'm quite sure I'd team up with the wrinkliest old fart I could find and straight murder everyone in one of those school lightsaberings you read about in the news. Can you believe we're up to nearly 2 lightsaberings per day? It's absurd. This entire republic is rotten to the core and you can just feel the need for a strong leader to step in, impose a military dictatorship, and start blowing up entire planets. Did you know my sister lives on Alderaan? I think that's where we should st---
Sorry about that. That writer has also been sacked. And the person responsible for the first sacking was also sacked. What we were trying to do was to answer the question: Should i farm this very expensive shiny new endgame content with my brand new account that doesn't even have CLS unlocked yet?
The answer to this question is, as you probably expect, a long winded parable about some nonsense or other that has nothing to do with anything and serves no purpose at all excepting to remind you that the author has recently been watching an awful lot of Monty Python and that this is, in fact, and ex-parrot.
Actually, the answer is another question:
Should you, who earns only $36,000 per year, buy your 15 year old with their learner's permit a ferrari as their first car?
Of course you should! N't. You shouldn't.
That joke works better if you say it out loud. Like that joke where the guy goes to the doctor and says he's got a penis stuck in his throat and the doctor says how do you know and the guy says well look and then you rub through adam's apple a bunch and spit on your friend to whom you're telling the joke. Text just doesn't do it justice.
So, and now we've finally arrived at the helpful guide portion of this ramble, how is one to determine
for themselves whether or not they should farm something? The self-determination part is really important. I like to live by this age-old adage: If you give a man a fire, he's warm for a night, but if you set him on fire he's warm for the rest of his life.
The answer is that, much like an elderly politician of your choosing's undergarments, it
depends.
CG has, over the years, released three type of shiny and new things:
- One is what I'll call the "Jedi Knight Revan" style of new thing. 5 brand new characters come out who are required to get a 6th brand new and powerful character. Darth Revan, Starkiller, Dr. Aphra, and the soon-to-be-arriving Jedi Cal Kestis are all good examples of this sort of release. You can go after these right away if you like. There's no real barrier to entry and you can get something shiny and new out of the investment.
- The second is the "The Solo Movie" style of thing. Sometimes CG just adds some shit and it sucks ass for a really long time. Rogue One (okay now thanks to AdRad but that was several years later), Young Han Solo and friends (nest was cool), the Inks when they first came out and really even still if you're not at the point where you can get GI or Reva... stuff like that.
- And the third is the "Jedi Master Luke" style of thing. MOST of the shiny and new things CG adds build off of other things that were, at one time, shiny and new all on their own. These things are pretty easy for older players to go after because they already have all of the earlier requirements completed, but new players are going to find that earning this sort of thing is nigh impossible. I mean you need JKL which means you need the Wampa... Sometimes the chains of requirements are quite long.
For example, Leviathan needs you to have the Fury-Class Interceptor, which needs Malgus to pilot it, both of which need you to have been near max-crating conquest for a long time, which means you're well over 4M GP and don't need this guide anyway (but if you read this far, please know that I appreciate you more than padme appreciated Keira Knightley).
So what I'm saying is, the journey guide isn't particularly good at telling you whether a farm is reasonable or not. Some farms require r8 and r9 characters, and those are hard to get for people who are in 300M GP guilds, let alone people who aren't sure if a 20M GP guild will take them (sorry, egnards; we're really looking for someone with a 7 star lobot for DS Hoth platoons).
This game is a game about patience, first and foremost. It's also a game about space lasers and butchering amazing music by changing the song every time a button is pressed (which de facto makes it a game about turning off the sound of the game entirely). And it's a game about investment.
Where do you get the best return on investment for your limited resources?
Almost never farm new and shiny things. I don't care how candy-like the red button looks, Ren and Stimpy absolutely will not - oh. He pressed it. Well, if you have the impulse control of an anthropomorphic cartoon cat drawn by an army of lunatics balls deep in LSD, you should call 1-800-GAMBLER and seek help. I've heard 1 in 10 people who calls that number wins a prize! Also I can sing the entire "Log™" song from memory, which probably tells you a lot about the sort of person I am.
Your best return is going to be going for things that were new and shiny about a year ago, and it will remain your best return right up until you start running out of things to farm that fit that description (several years from now). Now, even that description leaves a
w i d e array of things you could be going after. So which to choose? Well, with an eye towards the distant future, I recommend going after characters and ships first, and gear second. A roster with every character at 7 stars and G1 is better in my mind than one with five characters at r9 and no one else unlocked (although if you had everyone at G1 and 7 stars you're certainly cheating so... grain of salt). Characters who unlock other characters should be prioritized over ones who just sit there looking stupid (or, in CUP's case, being a badass meme guy).
If you're slightly farther along, I'd say it's time to start thinking about how you catch up to the power curve of the game. Think of the curve as a wave you're trying to surf. You gotta paddle a bit to catch it, but once you do... you're golden. So you have to know where the wave is going to form, right? You can't just start surfing when you're still on the beach. That's lame. So you're going to want to get characters who get you more characters so you can hopefully get even more characters in the future.
There are two places to do that more than any other: Fleet Arena, where you earn daily crystals, which let you do more energy refreshes so you can earn more characters, and Conquest, where you earn new and shiny characters loooong before they're available to people who aren't maxing conquest every time. And the good news is that there's some overlap there - the fleet arena for newer players can be well handled by Executor, which needs Piett to pilot, and Piett is a key part of the Imp Trooper conquest team (Veers / Piett / Starck / Gideon / Range) which is all supports and runs a nasty turn meter train (and also can be used to complete not one but two Assault Battle events that reward relic mats and shards and stuff).
You'll need to buy one set of relic 8 materials with crystals, probably. So save up a few!
If you've got executor, then I recommend going after JML and Wat next. That combo (along with the reqs for JML) enables a LOT of cheese strategies in conquest. All of this will also help your GAC success.
If you've hit these benchmarks, then you've probably done enough that you have a sense of where your roster could benefit more. Remember to keep in mind "how does this help me get more characters" and you'll find you're doing very well.
TL;DR: Plan on being a year or more behind the release schedule of new characters, and you'll be able to stay astride of your fleet shard while climbing GAC ranks and prepping to dominate conquest when you get to 4M GP. Don't buy CG's marketing hype; take a "wait and see" approach to new characters and let the whales figure out who is good and who isn't before you spend time and energy on them.

2023.06.08 20:00 youaresofuckingdumb8 What upcoming movies (next 3-4 years) do you think are very likely to make a billion dollars?
I think Avatar 3 and whatever the next Avengers is are the only movies basically guaranteed to make a billion. I’m trying to think of movies that are most likely to hit that number and I can’t really think of much. Obviously we can’t predict a Top Gun: Maverick style over performance but we can predict ones that seem likely to hit that number.
So I’m not talking about hot takes or instinct based underdog predictions I’m thinking what movies do you really think are like at least 80% likely to make that $1 billion number.
Mission Impossible 8 - I can’t say for sure until 7 comes out in July but as long as that movie is good and does well, like $800+ million, I feel the last one should be able to clear a billion. This is my least certain prediction though.
Deadpool 3 - This one has a very good shot. The last 2 made around $780 million and now they’ve got Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine in the mix.
Despicable Me 4 - I’ve never understood it haha but everyone of these films since Despicable Me 2 has made over $900 million so I don’t see this breaking the trend.
Spider-Man - I don’t even know what this will look like tbh, Raimi Spider-Man 4? Tom Holland 4? Either way it’s got a very very good shot at a billion.
So what do you think? Beyond the Spider-Verse? Toy Story 5? The Marvels? Joker 2? Fantastic Four? The Batman pt 2? Personally don’t think most of those ones will do it but they have a shot and would love to hear any arguments.

1825, 198 years ago
A tearful reunion
You can't miss Amos Parker. He is well over six feet tall. Some say closer to seven. Many say he was the tallest soldier in the American army during the Revolutionary War.
This week, the now 63-year-old Parker enters Shepard's Hotel on Bagg's Square in Utica (really the Bagg's Hotel, but the name was changed while Abraham Shepard owned it from 1825 to 1828). Parker is determined to meet the hotel's distinguished guest, the Marquis de Lafayette.
In 1777, while the Revolutionary War was raging, the then 19-year-old, tall, red-haired Lafayette left his home in France and joined the American army in its fight to win for the American colonies their independence from Great Britain. He fought in many battles and, in 1781, commanded troops in Yorktown, Virginia, when British Gen. Charles Cornwallis surrendered his army to Gen. George Washington, just about ensuring an end to the war and an American victory.
On the night of January 30, 1948, Utica firefighters fought one of the most spectacular fires in the city’s history. Flames roared through “The Long Block” on the west side of Lower Genesee Street, between Oriskany and Whitesboro streets. The 3-alarm blaze was fought in temperatures 30 below zero. Seventeen firefighters were injured and 11 businesses damaged. Losses were estimated at $400,000.
Now, 44 years later, the 68-year-old Lafayette is back in America, touring the country as a guest of its grateful citizens. This week, after visits in Rome, Oriskany and Whitesboro, he enters Utica triumphantly via the Rome Road (today Lafayette Street). After a big celebration, he is in his hotel room, resting before continuing his journey east.
Suddenly, there is a knock on the door and in walks the very tall Amos Parker. At first, Lafayette is puzzled, but then Parker begins to relate an incident that occurred at the Battle of Yorktown.
As the fighting there raged, Lafayette ordered 25 of his men — including Parker — to remove a fence so that Lafayette could lead his soldiers through the breach. "Once you remove the fence," Lafayette shouted, "allow me and my men to ride through the opening. Do not fire your weapons!"

The fence was removed and Lafayette and his men began to ride through. Suddenly, Parker spotted a British sniper aiming his rifle at Lafayette. Before the sniper could fire, though, Parker raised his musket and shot him.
Unbelievingly, an aide to Lafayette had Parker court-martialed for disobeying Lafayette's "don't fire your weapon" order. He, of course, was acquitted when it was learned that by disobeying the order, he had saved Lafayette's life.
Now, in a hotel room 44 years later, Parker and Lafayette relive the incident. They embrace and (a historian later wrote) enjoy "a heart-tugging event and weep" in each other's arms. (After the war, Parker settled in the town of Augusta in southwestern Oneida County and died there in 1842 at age 80. He was buried at the Parker (Augusta) Cemetery at the intersection of Augusta-Solsville Road and Anderson Road. A blue and yellow state marker there reads: AMOS PARKER, TALLEST MAN IN AMERICAN ARMY. SAVED GEN. LAFAYETTE'S LIFE. PRESENT AT THE SURRENDER OF CORNWALLIS. BURIED HERE.

2023.06.08 19:56 TigerKirby215 Behaviour, please never make "use a specific perk ON A SPECIFIC SURVIVOR" challenges again
It just feels shitty for a number of reasons. Let's exclude the obvious fact that "I got a perk on the shrine! Oh but I can't do the Rift challenge because I don't own the specific Survivor." It also makes it blatantly obvious if a specific player is doing a specific challenge. Whenever you saw an Ash over the last few weeks you knew they were probably going to gamethrow for the Buckle Up challenge, and now whenever you see an Ash you can guarantee they're going to prioritize taking Protection Hits over winning the game.
I don't mind challenges that require you to play a specific Survivor like "escape as Yun-Jin" or "take a Protection Hit as David King." It's when you add perks to the equation that it feels really shitty. It's restrictions on top of restrictions and it forces you to play with a Survivor you don't have items / addons for with perks you don't want to use.
Oh yeah and the same does apply for Killers too, but oddly enough the Killer Rift Challenges rarely have the same restrictions as Survivor ones.

2023.06.08 19:51 PreventingDrowning Could you float to self-rescue from accidental drowning in water? please respond to our survey on floating capability and help us prevent accidental drownings [MOD APPROVED on 08/06/23]
Hi, members of
NewOrleans,
Sadly, the World Health Organisation estimates that accidental drowning in water has been the fatal cause of death of around 236,000 people. A further 4.7 million people per year may experience non-fatal near-drowning, the effects of which can be life-changing.
An average of 3,500 to 4,000 people drown every year in the United States, and up to 70,000 more may experience non-fatal near-drowning experiences, which can be life-changing. Children, males and individuals with increased access to water are most at risk of drowning. Many of these fatal and non-fatal accidental drownings would have been highly preventable.
We are a group of researchers from the UK and New Zealand researching ways to reduce the number of accidental drownings in different countries, and we need your help!
(1) How can you help? We ask you to respond to our online research survey about floating capability. The findings will help inform water safety advice and swimming education and could help prevent accidental drownings in water. The findings of the survey will be presented at the World Conference on Drowning Prevention in 2023, so there is clear potential for impact.
(2) What's involved? Around 20 minutes of your time to answer questions about your perceptions of floating capabilities, drowning risk, swimming and self-rescue competencies, and we ask you to rate how well you float.
(3) Who can participate? Males and females aged 16 and older, including young, middle- and older-aged adults.
(4) How to share your views: Click this link:

While Paramount has announced no streaming plans at this time, big-budget blockbusters like Transformers: Rise of the Beasts typically become available on streaming roughly ninety days after their theatrical run begins. Given that the Transformers franchise rights currently belong to Paramount Pictures, it's more than likely that we'll see the next Transformers film come to Paramount+ once the movie decides to indulge in a streaming release. While not every film from the franchise is currently available on the service, it's hard to imagine that Paramount wouldn't put a big recent release like this onto their own service.
No, Transformers Rise of the Beasts is not yet streaming, so you’ll need to zoom your way to the nearest cinema if you want to see it. When Will Transformers: Rise of the Beasts Be Available On Netflix? Unfortunately the movie Transformers: Rise of the Beasts is not yet available on Netflix. Follow us on Facebook to see when Transformers: Rise of the Beasts becomes available on Netflix!
Transformers Rise of the Beasts is too busy shaking cinema walls to be on Netflix just yet. But we’ll keep an eye on the streamer’s catalog and let you know if the new Transformers outing does show up in the future. The streaming giant has a massive catalog of television shows and movies, but it does not include 'Transformers: Rise of the Beasts.' We recommend our readers watch other dark fantasy films like 'The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf.'
Is Transformers: Rise of the Beasts coming to Disney Plus?
Transformers Rise of the Beasts is not on Disney Plus, and we doubt it will end up there any time soon. The new Transformers movie is a Paramount production, so it’s not likely to end up on the streaming arm of a rival studio. Transformers: Rise of the Beasts, the latest installment in the Transformers: Rise of the Beasts franchise, is coming to Disney+ on July 9th! The simple answer is, probably not, since Paramount Pictures make “Transformers” films, and so this means that the new movie will be streaming exclusively on Paramount+, following a theatrical and digital release.

Transformers: Rise of the Beasts Will Stream On Paramount+
Transformers: Rise of the Beast is expected to be available to watch via streaming on Paramount Plus by September 9, 2023. Paramount+ is where Transformers: Rise of the Beasts will stream upon its release. Paramount has been in charge of the Transformers movie franchise since it began in 2007 and thus is responsible for releasing every entry in theaters. While the studio might have previously sent its movies to other streaming services like Netflix, the shift to focus more on the development of its own streaming service Paramount+ has changed this tactic. That is why Paramount has released its other major recent blockbusters like Top Gun: Maverick or Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves on Paramount+ after their theatrical runs conclude.
Want to know how to watch the Transformers movies in order before Rise of the Beasts roars into theaters? You've come to the right place. The seventh entry in Paramount Pictures' Transformers film franchise arrives in cinemas worldwide on Friday, June 9, so you don't have much time left to watch its predecessors at home. But, if you're planning to cram them all in before catching Transformers: Rise of the Beasts this weekend, we're here to help you work out how to watch them in chronological and release date order, and we'll also tell you which of the world's best streaming services have them as part of their movie libraries.
So, if you're ready to be reunited with Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, and company – and get the lowdown on every Transformers film to be released so far – read on.
Here's How and Where You Can Watch All of the Transformers movies
The best place to start is finding out where you can watch all of the Transformers movies in order in the comfort of your own home. If you're subscribed to Paramount Plus, that's your answer – well, for five of the six films, anyway. Paramount's primary streaming platform is home to the Michael Bay-directed trilogy – Transformers, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, and Transformers: Dark of the Moon. The streamer's film library is also home to the two Mark Wahlberg-starring flicks, Transformers: Age of Extinction and Transformers: The Last Knight.
● Transformers (released on July 3, 2007)
● Revenge of the Fallen (released on June 24, 2009)
● Dark of the Moon (released on June 29, 2011)
● Age of Extinction (released on June 27, 2014)
● The Last Knight (released on June 21, 2017)
● Bumblebee (released on Dec. 21, 2018)
Potential users looking to watch this quintet of movies will want to check out our Paramount Plus price guide to see how much it costs to sign up. Alternatively, you can get the lowdown on whether a Paramount Plus free trial is available, so you can try the service out without paying any money to stream the movies. Unfortunately for Paramount Plus UK and Australian-based users, the sixth entry in the action sci-fi franchise, 2018's Bumblebee, isn't available on British shores as part of the package.
US subscribers can catch Bumblebee on Paramount Plus (and Fubo, for what it's worth), but UK and Australian fans will have to look elsewhere to get the full Transformers movies in order experience. Here's where UK and Australian viewers can watch Bumblebee instead:
● Australia – rent or buy via the Amazon, Apple TV Google Play, Microsoft, or YouTube stores
● UK – rent or buy via the Amazon, Apple TV, Google Play, Microsoft, Rakuten, Sky, or YouTube stores
Will Transformers: Rise of the Beasts Be On HBO Max?
No, Transformers: Rise of the Beasts will not be on HBO Max since it’s not a Paramount Pictures movie. Last year, the company released its films in theaters and on the streamer on the same day. However, they now allow a 45-day window between the theatrical release and the streaming release.
Disney may have made billions with last year’s mega-blockbuster Avatar: The Way of Water, but for now it’s going to share the streaming success. The Steven Caple Jr. directed sequel is coming to streaming on September 11 and though the film was distributed by Disney, Disney+ won’t be the only place to see it. You can see it there as well as Max, aka HBO Max.
Is Transformers: Rise of the Beasts Available On Hulu?
Viewers are saying that they want to view the new animation movie Transformers: Rise of the Beasts on Hulu. Unfortunately, this is not possible since Hulu currently does not offer any of the free episodes of this series streaming at this time. It will be exclusive to the MTV channel, which you get by subscribing to cable or satellite TV services. You will not be able to watch it on Hulu or any other free streaming service.
No, 'Transformers: Rise of the Beasts' is unavailable on Hulu. People who have a subscription to the platform can enjoy 'Afro Samurai Resurrection' or 'Ninja Scroll.'

What Transformers: Rise of the Beasts About:
Optimus Prime and the Autobots take on their biggest challenge yet. When a new threat capable of destroying the entire planet emerges, they must team up with a powerful faction of Transformers known as the Maximals to save Earth. For a while, Transformers: Rise of the Beasts looked like it might be another Bumblebee--a Transformers movie that lacks any of the pizzazz of the Michael Bay flicks but which actually tells a decent story about characters you actually care about. For the first 45 minutes to an hour, we get the most compelling and relatable version yet of the story about a regular person accidentally becoming friends with an alien robot who was secretly a car. But then the plot really kicks in, and suddenly we're watching a Michael Bay Transformers movie--but without Bay's skill as an action filmmaker.
It’s a tale as old as time: A human character stumbles upon a group of Transformers that includes Optimus Prime (Peter Cullen) and Bumblebee (voiceless yet again), and gets roped into their battle with an evil faction, which inevitably involves a race for a piece of Transformers tech that has the power to destroy the world.

Transformers: Rise of the Beast is expected to be available to watch via streaming on Paramount Plus by September 9, 2023.

2023.06.08 19:45 sportsthatguy This is going to be fun. Great article on ESPN about Chucky and the Panthers
| "The winning and the fact that a lot more people down here can pick up a basketball, go to a gym and see kids are playing basketball," Rose said. "[The Panthers] got hurt by that. There wasn't a lot of hockey being played down here before [original team owner] Wayne Huizenga, and they had that one run and that died out after the success of going to the finals. This is going to be fun to see where this goes. I am curious to see where hockey fits into the big picture of South Florida.” - Joe Rose They interview a lot of local voices from Dave Hyde to Ed Jovanovski, etc. submitted by sportsthatguy to FloridaPanthers [link] [comments] |
2023.06.08 19:45 Delenda__Carthago Story of my LinkedIn inexplicable privacy breach
Hi everyone !
I just can’t connect the dot with this recent experience.
I just had a very strange suggestion from LinkedIn. I met a guy on the street yesterday, I start a conversation with him because I mistakenly believed that he was an old fight club acquaintance. Interestingly he was a fighter so we spoke a little bit on fight topic, then we just exchange our phone numbers / and first names, nothing more, no company name, not even job conversation, nothing other than phone and nickname.
Today I surprisingly get a suggestion of his profil on my LinkedIn.
I have a premium version of LinkedIn, so I can see who view my profile. He doesn’t have a premium subscription, and hadn’t view my profil. Plus I’m leaving in a big city (million people) it’s unlikely he could find me just with my first name + city.
I don’t particularly want to hide me from this guy, my concern is where this suggestion come from?
Other that LinkedIn have access to my message💀

2023.06.08 19:45 InevitableCrit DM Tip: Fortunes
I did this last night and my players loved it. I had a little fortune teller that was setting up shop. She waved over the players and asked if they could watch her stall while she ran back to collect her cards. Very quickly she returned and thanked them and offered a free fortune. I printed 4 fortunes that are relevant for the upcoming quest. I made them using Canva and the ticket templates. They kind of look like fortune cookies.
They were going to the feywild so I had:
- Don't trust the lies of songbirds
- The blue bell path leads to the captive song
- don't share a meal where you would not share a name
- Beware the Generous Miser.
The 2 players then got to pull a fortune each. They got the Don't trust the Lies of Songbirds and The Blue Bell path. They are constantly looking for what these could mean. I was quite literal with these 2. The path with blue bells is a short cut. And in another area if they follow the songbirds they will be led into a trap.
To make the fortunes I identified several risks ahead of them and made cryptic advice or hints. You can also do something for them to find a special treasure, numbers to win a lottery, the code for a puzzle wall they will encounter.
