2023.06.10 06:42 Jahblessit First bike: hardtail or full suspension?
Budget is like 2-2500 max. Southern California. Been looking in Pinkbike at trail bikes but the hard tails look sick. I rode a buds full suspension and that was the only time so I don’t have anything to compare it to. We rode some trails and the downhill was smooth but it wasn’t like a magic carpet. Is the hardtail much different. I feel as long as the bike has front suspension then I’d be fine. I’m doing to loose weight mainly. And rip the downhills.

2023.06.10 06:42 Opposite-Sleep-9204 She told me I have the face of a serial k*ller
I made another reddit account for obvious reasons.
Yesterday I was in a shopping mall with a very good friend of mine, one who I can say it's like a sister to me.
Everything seemed like a normal day where I go out with her and laugh or do silly things with her.
As she was looking at clothes, we start discussing looks. She told me my face looks like I'm a serial k*ller. That I have a somewhat of a weirdo look, and my eyes that are blue and glasses that I have, aren't helping me either. That it's just how I was born and I can't do anything regarding this.
At that exact moment I wanted to kll myself. I wanted to puke, as my stomach started to hurt. I don't understand myself how I could stop my tears when I heard these words. I felt stbbed in the heart as it's not the first time someone told me this, but it's the first time someone dear to me says so. This broke me to pieces, as it was not a joke, just the truth.
I struggled with how I look for many years. I started balding at a very young age and I just shave my head since I was 20. I started going to gym in April this year, but I don't like to see myself in a mirror. I don't even like to see my reflection on my laptop or mobile phone. I don't like to see myself in any pictures. It makes me feel depressed.
You will maybe say that everybody is beautiful in their own way. It's not true. Would it be beautiful if you would-been told that you look like a sick person? Where's the beauty in that?
There are many times that I go alone in parks, at the cinema or in restaurants. I lie to my family that I go out with many friends, it's just with myself or with her.
When I went home, I closed the windows and door at the balcony. I didn't wanted to see them open. I didn't wanted even to look at them. I live on the fifth floor.
Man shouldn't cry, but as I write this post I just can't stop crying. I couldn't even sleep last night, and probably the next days will be the same.
Everyday I try to be a better person, everyday I try to see beauty and happiness in small things. But everyday, it's not forever.

2023.06.10 06:41 mon881 Loewe Medium vs Large Puzzle
| I went to Fashionphile in NY a few weeks ago to look at some puzzle bags. I was debating between the medium puzzle in tan and the large in warm desert, and I ended up getting the warm desert! I liked how both of them looked on me, but the large puzzle can fit a 13in laptop. I’ve been wanting a bag for work/travel, so the large felt like a better choice. The large puzzle retails for $4100 💀 and there was no way I wanted to spend that much on one bag. I was able to save about two thousand dollars by getting it at Fashionphile. Had a great experience shopping there; would highly recommend! submitted by mon881 to handbags [link] [comments] |
2023.06.10 06:41 National-Storage-807 bf still close with ex- concerning or no?
I, 21f, have been dating a guy (39) I met through mutual friends for about six months. Obviously being older, he has a more rich romantic history than I do which is tough at times. However, it's a relationship with 1 ex that has me troubled in particular. They dated for at least three years, breaking up in 2021. During that time, they traveled the world together, met each other's families, and posted tons of cute lovey pictures which are still on facebook and instagram today. They reconciled a few times in 2022. You don't have to scroll long to find them kissing on my bf's page, and I actually thought he had a girlfriend still when we first met due to this. They send each other memes frequently, and recently, she sent him a cute travel picture of them to which he responded "those were the best of times." He doesn't usually let me see what they talk about, but I saw that message and had to ask. They unfollowed each other on instagram, but he followed her back recently. He gets very annoyed and defensive when I express any concerns and says he doesn't want to talk about it. All he will tell me is that he broke up with her because he felt they were better as friends and that he has no romantic interest in anyone but me. I hate to be untrustworthy and insecure, but I can't help it. I want to be respectful of their history and bond together, but it hurts looking at his insta and seeing him call her all the same pet names he calls me. They traveled the world together and have so many memories. She is closer to his age. I am worried he broke up with her too soon and I am a rebound that he loves but not in the same way. I am trying to not let my immaturity get in the way of a good thing, but I have no experience with this. What can I do to get past this? Is there reason for concern here, or am I paranoid? TLDR; I am having discomfort with the relationship my bf shares with ex, and this bothers him. Looking for a solution that works for both of us

2023.06.10 06:41 NoGold1522 Lost 50 pounds in the course of 2 months, then gained it all back in 2 weeks?
On March 16th I arrived at Navy Boot Camp weighing 240 pounds at 6 feet tall. I was really fat and out of shape and honestly didn’t think I was gonna pull through at first, but against all odds I ended up cutting down to 190 pounds 8 weeks later. Obviously since it’s boot camp you can imagine we worked out daily and had a pretty big caloric deficit. My team was completely shocked and I looked like an entirely different person. I had almost no noticeable body fat by the end of boot camp.
Right after boot camp however I got moved duty stations and couldn’t work out for 2 weeks so I gained all that body fat right back. I didn’t even know it was physically possible to gain weight that fast. I look like I did before boot camp now and it’s bizarre. Once again I’m back at 240. Lost all my muscle. Gained all that weight back in fat.
I’m not upset about it because I know I can lose it again, but does anybody have any idea what the science is behind this? Is there genuinely something wrong with me medically?
Before I joined the Navy to add on, I went from 290 to 240 in the span of two months. I’m not sure how normal that is, but losing and gaining weight has always been incredibly fast for me for no reason and it’s a little worrisome. This isn’t the first time this has happened. My junior year of high school I went from 280 to 180 in 3 months. Maybe I should see a doctor? Not sure.

2023.06.10 06:41 cconti Is anyone using a KD100 Keydial with a Huion tablet?
I have had a H610PRO V2(8192) tablet for a few years now with few if any problems.
I just purchased a Huion Keydial KD100 and I am not sure what to do. Everything works poorly if at all and mostly it's a software issue, I am sure.
For starters, on their website there are 2 drivers you can download for the KD100. Already I felt bad vibes when I saw that because there is no explanation whatsoever. One is older by a month, but otherwise they give no explanation which one you should use.
After I installed the older one, it recognized my tablet as well as the KD100, except that it wiped out all my shortcuts. No big deal, right?
Nope, big deal.
To make a long story short, the two devices don't work well together.
First it was the Keydial wheel that refused to let me program it. When I finally it allowed me to change it, it wouldn’t go back to the default settings.
Then the tablet disappeared completely., I restarted, changed USB ports, prayed at the temple of Athena. Nothing worked.
Finally I had the brilliant idea to look for the tablet drivers. Bingo, those found both devices, except that when I am assigning and naming shortcuts every other time it crashes my... Keyboard?
I don't know how else to describe it. My keyboard stops working, in all apps (including the driver settings) but not completely. I use Notepad to check the keyboards (I tried a BT, a Logitech wireless and my old, cable one that I keep on my tower desktop in case I need to work on the BIOS.
Nothing works, except that randomly it would try to exit Notepad (asking me to save, cancel, etc. or it would bring another app to the front.
I have taken to saving a backup for each time I make a change (I lost too many) so that saved me from having to redo my shortcuts over and over.
I submitted a ticket, but Huion are notorious for not giving a crap. Plus so many different things went wrong with the keypad and the tablet, I had to summarize a lot (like I am doing here).
Crazy stuff. It was like they intentionally wrote code to drive their customer nuts.
If anyone else has such a combo, I'd like to hear how it's going.
Next I am going to try to open the backup files and see if I can make my own and I wait for new drivers to be released.
Other than that, I love the keypad. It make working in Photoshop so much faster. I was going to buy one for my wife, but she may inherit mine and I'll switch to something a bit more reliable.

2023.06.10 06:40 WhyIsMyPooGreenHelp Best 15 Perk Combination?
Been playing the game for 2 weeks now, usually doing the wildcard contract with a duo in Discord. Racked up 40 hours, and I am bloodline level 78. Just now I played a 7 kill 4 bounty game and got my 5th max level hunter for the achievement.
Now I'm in the main lobby looking at the traits, and I'm trying to budget all the perk points and stuff. If a hunter gets 49 points and has 15 slots, each trait/perk would have to average 3.26 points, but it honestly feels like that I very rarely would actually use any 1-3 point perk. Not to mention that you still need to set points aside to buy back health.
I'm not saying the 3 point perks are bad, many of them I would use, Bulwark, Kiteskin, Dauntless has saved me a few times, and I always run Magpie and can get away with not bringing stamina shots.
But when all the really game-changing perks like Necromancer, Bloodless, levering/fanning, doctor, frontiersman, quartermaster, etc are way above the 3-point average it seems impossible to fully load up hunters with 15 good/useable traits unless you just farm bosses and meatheads over and over.
Do more experienced players just not bother trying to get all 15 perks and just get what they can from the perk points and get the others when they come across them in game? Or do people have specific combinations of perks they like running that get them up to the full 15?
Also wondering if there are any that are overrated or any that are "must run" perks, like necromancer in solos.
Sorry if the question sounds dumb or convoluted and thanks for the patience.

2023.06.10 06:40 Van1llatte When is a headache concerning for preeclampsia in third trimester?
32w and 26F and ftm. I have had a headache that is on and off for the past 3 days. It’s usually around the middle of my forehead above my eyes, and sometimes just on the left or right temples. Sleeping doesn’t help it go away, and I don’t have any tylenol to see if that relieves it. I’ve been drinking water and haven’t stopped caffeine so it’s not a caffeine withdrawal headache.
I wouldn’t explain it as the worst headache I’ve ever had, but it definitely hurts a lot and is making it hard to think. No obvious changes in vision (I get stars if I get up to fast but I also have slightly low iron so I think it’s from that), but I’ve noticed if I look quickly from one side to another it kinda looks like slow motion for a few seconds.
BP last taken a few weeks ago was normal, but idk where to go to check it again cause I don’t think my local CVS has a monitor. I do have my next prenatal appt on tuesday though.
I’ve also recently been really tired, but idk if that’s just regular pregnancy exhaustion from getting later in to the third trimester.
Does this sound concerning at all or just regular joys of pregnancy?

2023.06.10 06:40 egull5435 Unique Volunteer Opportunity for 19 year old
I’m a rising 2nd year at another college and asking others in case they have ideas. I’m not too close to my school during the summer, gonna be back around August 15th tho and will have a car to commute to anywhere. I’m looking to get involved with some type of community service project, something that is more than just a 4 hour work day at a big organization. I want to have something on my resume that shows something unique and also that shows commitment. I’m pretty into disk golfing so initially I really wanted to get involved with building a new course and put 4-8 hours into it every week for a few months or whatever it would take, that’s a great example of the type of thing I’m looking for, but they just finished a brand new one last may so I don’t know if there would be another project like that this coming fall. Just wondering if anyone has some ideas of what I could do or if you are working on something yourself or have connection with anyone that could help me get involved somewhere. Again I just want to find something that’s a legit commitment and better than going to a few different cliche organizations which won’t really stand out on an application.

2023.06.10 06:40 Jackabug Looking for a game that emulates the gathering side of the hunter-gatherer lifestyle (preferably relaxed gameplay)
I have been playing "The Island: Castaway: The Lost World" for the past couple of weeks. Today out of curiosity I looked up how many chapters total there are (I'm partway through chapter six) and discovered to my dismay that, out of a planned eighteen chapters, only eleven were completed, and the game was released as-is with a "to be continued" 'ending' five years ago; devs have no plans to wrap things up.
I'm a bit sad, not to mention mad, about this, because the game does one thing quite well that I've been enjoying: frequent need to venture into the wilderness to harvest wild plants, which entails both being able to recognize various plants and being able to recall whereabouts each type of plant regenerates after being harvested.
(There are also farming, fishing, hunting, crafting, non-food resource acquisition, etc. aspects to the game, as well as a plotty storyline, all of which I don't mind, but aren't the things that make this game stand out for me. I do appreciate the exploration aspect of games in this genre, but I am primarily looking for gathering mechanics.)
I would prefer for time-limited tasks (e.g. you have six minutes to gather four different fruits and an herb) to be at a minimum, in games recommended on this post.
I'm looking for games on either Android or PC (especially if available on Steam), preferably Android as I have a tablet and am going to be spending a lot of time in medical waiting rooms in the coming months.
Thanks in advance for any and all recs!

2023.06.10 06:40 MrAppleSpoink All this “no moral victories” stuff is just a roundabout way of ridiculing good sportsmanship.
I’m not sure what’s gotten into this sub, or the NBA fanbase in general, but there’s this weird hatred for anyone who takes anything positive from a game/series they lost.
Take the Lakers for example. We started 2-10, had a million injuries, and turned around the roster last minute to try and save it all, and we ended up in the Western Conference Finals after beating the defending champs. Following that, we put up a solid fight in each game against the Nuggets, unfortunately coming up short each time. Sure we didn’t win it all, but there’s also no shame in saying “we had a damn good run all things considered”.
The Heat are really similar (assuming they lose the finals). Knocking off the 1 seeded Bucks, beating the Knicks while injured, and then taking out the 2 seeded Celtics to make the finals as an 8 seed. Even if they lose, Heat fans have every reason to be proud of their run.
Finally, the Bucks. Obviously they have far less to be happy about, but what I want to focus on is Giannis’ press conference. He gives props to the Heat, and he goes on to defend his teammates, and look at the loss through the lens of gained experience rather than empty failure. This is admirable as hell, it would’ve been so easy for him to avoid media, say it was all cause of his injury, or say it’s all over for them, but instead he stands up strong and, while acknowledging a shortcoming, maintaining confidence that they can learn from this and get better as a result.
What do all of these things have in common? They’re examples of good sportsmanship. Respecting the opponent and finding the bright side for yourself are two of the most important things for an athlete, team, or fanbase to do in a loss, yet for some reason we as a community look down upon it, as though we hope they instead cry, whine, and make excuses.
If winning alone isn’t enough, and you need to also see your opponent break down and cry and make a fool of themselves, then that’s on you, not them.
Let’s be better than this.

2023.06.10 06:40 zen_lemur You deserve better.
I see SO many posts about partner issues and it makes me sad. My ex-husband was similar to what's usually described in these posts, unappreciative, narcissistic, argumentative, etc. I honestly thought that all men were like that (my dad wasn't a great example) and I thought I had to live with that or be alone. Well, I'm here to tell you that better men do exist! My current husband tells me everyday that he loves me, thanks me for every meal, thanks me for cleaning and taking care of our daughter while he's at work. He asks me if I need more quality time with him before hanging out with his friends. He cooks and cleans without being asked. And every week we ask each other if we have done anything to upset the other or if there's any disconnect/things to work on.
These wonderful people really are out there. Please do not feel trapped or pretend to be happy. Demand what you deserve from your partner. Teach your children what a loving relationship looks like and make sure they know their worth.

2023.06.10 06:39 yuncangjiuzhuang Eat, drink and be merry for the holidays! Follow the LEESON grading method to drink good red wine
https://reddit.com/link/145qmh0/video/8ohh1vfmd45b1/player New Year's Day, Dragon Boat Festival, Mid-Autumn Festival holidays, May 1st, 11th, and Spring Festival seven-day fun, counting the holidays for office workers throughout the year, it is not too much, but it is also a little less, and I am a little excited when I think about it! But when you think about the "watching cars" on the highway during the holidays, and the "counting people" at scenic spots, it is inevitable that the excitement will decline. In fact, for eating, drinking and having fun during the holidays, you might as well follow the LEESON red wine grading method to taste red wine, and drink real good red wine with friends
However, when drinking wine, the following points should be paid attention to under different temperature and room temperature! For example, it is often heard that tasting red wine can be carried out at room temperature. Under normal circumstances, we understand that the room temperature is between 20-25 degrees Celsius, and this is actually somewhat high for the drinking temperature of red wine. The tasting temperature of red wine is best controlled between 15-18 degrees Celsius.
For white wine, it is not a correct way to put it in the refrigerator too early. If you put it in the refrigerator early in the morning and open the bottle to drink when you are ready to drink, the low temperature will inhibit the flavor of the white wine, making the aroma of the wine not clear enough, and the sour taste will be more obvious.
In general, put red wine in the refrigerator for 30 minutes before drinking; while white wine should be taken out of the refrigerator 30 minutes before drinking to enjoy the best of the two wines. flavor.
Whether it is red wine or white wine, you can find your favorite choice at LEESON Red Wine. LEESON red wine accurately classifies dozens of wines in 8 price ranges, leading the new trend of red wine classification. From 1 prefix to 9 prefix, gradually from affordable to luxurious. For LEESON red wine, consumers only need to look at the serial number to know the price of the wine. The method is very simple, which saves the stage of being confused and directly advances to the stage of "blind selection".
The classification of red wine depends on LEESON, so you don't have to worry about buying and tasting wine! Let LEESON red wine accompany you to spend the remainder of this year's holiday!

2023.06.10 06:39 STEMHEADING Involuntary eye movement
Age: 21
Height: 6ft
Male
Supplements: B12 and Vitamin D
I have not felt well at all for the last 6 or so years. At first I thought it was because I was obese, but after fixing that the issue remained, and seemed to get worse. Mainly I deal with fatigue and memory issues, concentration and focus. I’ve had a lot of testing done to determine what exactly is wrong but unfortunately I haven’t found anything.
I can’t say exactly when it started but sometime in the last few years my eye has started… twitching? It’s usually, heck, maybe even always my left eye. I don’t wanna say it’s my eyelid twitching because it feels more like my eye is looking in random directions very rapidly. I suppose it could be both. I’m talking fast, so rapidly that I basically lose vision in the affected eye for about half a second or so. Is this a normal phenomenon? It doesn’t happen very often but it’s not particularly rare either.

2023.06.10 06:39 egull5435 Unique Volunteer Opportunity for 19 year old
I’m a rising 2nd year at another college and asking others in case they have ideas.

2023.06.10 06:39 Maleficent-Cat-2126 First time Tavor owner (x95 5.56 18”)
Sooo, I just pulled the trigger (yuk yuk) on a 5.56 X95 with the 18” barrel. I’ve had my eye on one for a minute, and finally ordered it after getting separation anxiety after getting rid of my AR short boi uppers.
I’m very familiar with the standard AR15 platform, very unfamiliar with this beautiful marvel of Israeli engineering, so I’m looking for advice on accessories.
I’m browsed
Tavor a bit, and see that I’ll probably need a riser of some sort for my optics, but besides that, I’m a blank slate in terms of advice on what to put it.
As far as accessories I already have that aren’t currently in use on other firearms:
Holosun 510c GR (I have shorty eyes, red dots are a no go)- Reflex
Holosun HE403C-GR - GDS
A couple of vertical / foregrips
Vortex VMX-3T 3x magnifier
Been thinking of selling my optics and getting something higher end and etched.
As far as rifles go, this and my ruger backpacker stocked takedown .22 are pretty much gonna be my SHTF / EOTW rifles; that being said, any advice or suggestions for that sort of build would be awesome.
I keep waffling back and forth on the amount of magnification to put on this thing.
Other considerations- besides my ruger EOTW bunny gun, I have a deer rifle with a 3x9, and a standard 16” barreled AR15 with one of HS green reflex sights that I listed above. Also, I keep seeing suggesting HUX (HX?) cans, is there any reason that specific suppressor works well with these guns? Despite the 18” barrel, this thing is barely longer than my old 10.5” .300aac build, and it looks like the HX can is only 5”, so that piqued my interest, bc before this platform I never would have considered throwing a can on an 18” barrel.
Anyway, I feel like I’m rambling at this point- TLDR: any / all suggestions for a new Tavor owner would be much appreciated.

2023.06.10 06:39 Atlas105 "Special Abilities" Thoughts and ideas
I'm starting my first campaign soon with some close friends, and since none of us have an interest in metagaming and just want to have fun, we enjoyed the idea of every character having their own Special that we come up with and the DM approves. I'm not sure if this is something people do or if it's recommended by people but I'm looking for suggestions from people more knowledgeable about the games balance then me.
For example: One of my friends is a big ginger guy. Strong as an ox and we've always joked about his tendency to "unga bunga" everything. So obviously the guy made his first character a red headed goliath barbarian with the special "Unga Bunga" unlocked at level 3 he rolls a dice based on his current level to increase his attack power for his next attack. Once per encounter simple boost.
My character is a outcasted Monk with major anger issues, I will not elaborate on the self-insert accuracy (it's accurate). The ability my DM originally came up with involves my monk losing his temper and rampaging. I roll a dice and get a modifier to my attack based on my current health percentage. I keep that modifier for 3 turns however every enemy will begin to target me. This was made before I was set as a Monk though and I think the focus on my health and being targeted might make it useless given my already frail character compared to martial classes. So I'm open to suggestions.
My girlfriend is playing a Beast Tamer with a pet psuedodragon who has a background as royalty and is travelling to become stronger and wiser before becoming queen. I have no ideas for her. She's short, she's got attitude, and we wanted to make a fun special involving having a queenly command or presence but we're also not sure if we'd like to involve the pet in some way since it's an important part of the character design. Such as helping her fly like Happy from Fairy Tail.
