What I really want is the State, not necessarily the specific address. What I find is in attempting this Task, it will error out if a specific address cannot be identified. How may I edit this to only get me the State, which should be easy to do every time.

Hey there,
im new to PA, did a basic course, and my first problem is already driving me completely nuts, i just cant solve it.

So i want to make an onboarding app, where people go to different stations within our company and scan a QR-Code. The Value of the QR-Code is the name of a given department, e.g. "Human Resource Department". Now i have this value, or text, "Human Resource Department" as a variable. I want PA to look this variable up in a connected Excel sheet, which contains a table with two columns: Station and Approved. In the station column, theres a list of all stations. So after looking up the scanned station from the qr-Code in this column, i want to write a text sort of like "OK" in the second column of that row. Basically just like a check list, so i can see in the excel sheet which stations a person has already visited.
Was using Patch & LookUp function, but it just wont work.
Has someone any ideas how i could approach this?

However, the response from the pagemethod is the entire html page. It is my understanding that this can occur with post methods if you do not have your "contentType" properly set in the ajax call. I have set it that same as all my other ajax calls that do work on the page (they are not using select2).
Does select2 ignore the "contentType" attribute? Or is there something else I've done incorrectly?
** EDIT **After posting this, I found this issue listed at select2's github site:Issue 492 - Add Support for contentType to Ajax
It appears that it doesn't pass contentType through. Am I able to bypass selet2's built in ajax helper and use my own manually defined one?

Google Chrome is driving me nuts with its autodetected location "feature".
Google Chrome lists the location of my INTERNET SERVICE PROVIDER and not ME. This is making it impossible to use an increasing variety of websites that rely on this completely broken feature. (Google assumes that everyone uses a cell phone, which is incorrect.)
My question is: How do I permanently override Google Chrome for ALL websites so that I can set my exact location to be whatever I want it to be?
NOTE: Please do not mention the Developer's Control Panel (whatever its called) because I tried using that and it didn't work. I can add as many locations as I want in there but Google will keep going back to the same autodetected one.
Somewhere Google Chrome is getting this incorrect location through a poorly written function call and its that function call that needs to be removed/modified/spoofed/replaced.
Somewhere in Chrome's source code there will be something to the effect of:

So basic data models is:

Parent Table 1 - Fee Model (1-Many)
> Child Table2 - Fee Model Options (related on fee model)
Parent Table 3 - Fee Proposal (lookup to select a fee model from table 1. One Fee Model can be used in many Fee Proposals)
> Child Table 4 - One Fee Proposal can have many Fee Proposal Options, dropdown of table 2* options. One Fee Model Option can be used in Many Fee Proposal Option records.
Table 3 (Fee Proposals) has a main form with Table 4 (Fee Proposal Options) as subgrid. When a new option is added it launches a Quick Create Form.
*The challenge - the lookup field in the the QCF needs to be restrict options to Table2 FM options where Fee Model is the same as Parent (Table 3)
I've tried a number of different things but each hit a dead end. I believe I need to either:
Either way I'm thinking this is probably a Javascript job, but new to this so any pointers welcome. Alternatively if I've missed any no code/low code solutions then please let me know.

ChatGPT wrote some Python code to open one spreadsheet, lookup the value in the asin column, retrieve some other data from that row - then look up all rows in another spreadsheet with matching asin - gather some more data from those rows and put it all in to a text file named asinvariable.txt.
Although it gets very close (it creates a text file for each asin) it doesn't put any of the other content into the text file.
I'm sure this is an easy fix for a regular python user. You can see the ChatGPT code here

2023.05.26 15:54 spliket Tutorial - I created my own Vinyl Listen Logger in Google Sheets

Hopefully this isn’t too off-topic.
I wanted to start tracking the vinyl records I listened to…mostly out of curiosity but also to know if I’m spending my money on the right type of records (for me). I wasn’t happy with the options out there for logging listens on vinyl. Scrobbling just isn’t a good solution IMO, and I didn’t want to pay the last.fm subscription for some of the features I wanted.
So I created my own Vinyl Listen Logger in Google Sheets. I plan on adding features to it like graphs and historical play lookup by album. Here’s what I got so far, though, and a small writeup on how to build this yourself.
Create Your Tabs in Google Sheets
You can change the name of the tabs, but you’ll need to change some of the values in formulas and the app script if you do.
  1. Logger (where you’ll select an album and log that you listened to it)
  2. Collection With Listens (where you’ll have a list of all your albums, the number of times you’ve listened to the albums, and the last time you listened)
  3. Listen Log (a list of all the listens by artist and title)
  4. Discogs Import (where you’ll import your album list from Discogs - or manually input your albums)
Create Discogs Import
This is the most annoying part of this
This is a manual process for me. If anyone has an idea of how to automate this, lmk. But, basically, I do the following:
  1. Go to the export tab in Discogs, select “Collection” and click on Request Data Export.
  2. Download the CSV that generates
  3. Navigate to the Discogs Import tab in Google Sheets
  4. Click on File → Import → Upload → Replace current sheet
  5. Don’t change the column layout or anything on this tab after import. Otherwise, you’ll break the process when you import your catalog in the future to update your album list
Set up Collection With Listens
We’re mostly just getting things ready here. We’ll come back and fill in some details at the end
  1. Import all the data from your Discogs Import tab
    1. Enter ='Discogs Import'!A:A into cell A1 of your Collection With Listens tab
    2. Drag to copy that formula down as many rows as you’d like (as many rows as you have albums - plus some extra rows to give you room for growth of your collection)
    3. Drag to copy that formula across rows A through M
  2. Add 3 columns
    1. Listen Count - where an album’s total listen count will end up
    2. Last Listened - where the date of your last listen for a given album will end up
    3. Combined Artist - Title - where we’re going to combine the artist and title columns from Discogs into a single value
  3. Rearrange the columns into whatever order you’d like - I moved the catalog #, listen count, and last listened columns around so that my sheet starts with the columns Artist, Title, Listen Count, and Last Listen
  4. Combine the artist and title values into one value in the Combined Artist - Title column
    1. In that columns first row, add the formula =concat(concat(A21," - "),B21) (replace A with the column for your artists, and B should be replaced with the column for your titles)
    2. Drag to copy that formula down as many rows as you want
Create Logger
  1. With cell A1 selected in the Logger tab of the Google sheet, select Data → Data validation
  2. Click on Add Rule
  3. Change the criteria to Dropdown (from a range)
  4. Enter ='Collection With Listens'!$P$2:$P (replace P in your formula with whatever column your combined Artist / Title is in on the other tab)
  5. Save the rule
  6. Create App Script
    1. Go to Extensions → Apps Script
    2. Create a new file
    3. Replace any code with the following code and save the script as Vinyl Listen Logger.gs

    4. Update the tab names if you didn’t use the same names as I did
  7. Add a button to your Logger tab in Google Sheets
    1. Select cell B1
    2. Click on Insert → Drawing
    3. Create the design for your button
    4. Save and Close
    5. Select the drawing
    6. Click on the 3 dots in the top right
    7. Select Assign Script
    8. Enter logDropdownSelection
    9. Save
  8. Test your logger
    1. Select an album from the drowdown list in A1
    2. Click on your button in B1
    3. Give permission to run the script from a non-approved developer
    4. Go to the Listen Log tab and check to make sure the selected album appears with the current date next to it
Finish up Collections With Listens
  1. In the first row of your Listen Count column enter the formula =COUNTIF('Listen Log'!A:A,P2) where P should be replaced by the column your combined artist - title column
  2. Drag to copy that formula down as many rows as you’d like
  3. In the first row of your Last Listened column enter the formula =IFERROR(MAX(QUERY('Listen Log'!A:B, "select B where A='"&P2&"'")), "") where P should be replaced by the column your combined artist - title column

I posted a question earlier but have since found coding that can fix my issue but I don't understand how to implement it.
I'm currently using the 'patches' lookup by ~kapine, and have found a code called 'no scroller, show pets in rows' on ~ziys. I tried to replace the bits of code that were mentioned on the ~ziys page, and although I could see if definitely made a change to the visuals, it also left a bunch of code showing as text just under my pets pictures. Could someone please tell me how to merge them properly?

I'm currently completing Pset9 Finance and I'm stuck on the quote function (image 1). I've tried entering a number of different stock symbols and none of them seem to be a valid symbol (image 2). I've tried accessing the lookup url and I get an error (image 3). Is the webpage no longer in use? Or, is there an issue with my code?

I've tried re-downloading the distribution code and checking the API key, but it is still not working.
