I just got into a fight with my godfather and my mom—one where I was looking for help and guidance. Instead, I got a blunt person on the other end telling me that I'm not trying hard enough to find a job and that Ken my ex-now roommate can treat me however he wants to, he can go out and he can lie to you, and you have to deal with it, or come home.
Yes, I was severely crying out for help saying I don't wanna be here, all I got was that's a copout, do you want me to call the cops, and go call 988 they'll help you. As if either one of them has called them in their life. They aren't helpful.
I got angry hung up, and didn't wanna take another call, but did tell my own mom I don't wanna talk. Yeah, I know I threw a fit, but I learned that from her. Only she got away with it. The fit was because I don't want to let my Dad's stuff go, but she has my "truth-telling" Godfather and her going through it.
Dad has only been gone for four months, and she can't see how it affects me. The only time I had a say was with what I wanted.
You see I've dealt with my Narsasictic mom forever. She used to throw fits if I tried to have friends, she would push them away, get angry because I wanted to be me, and harass me making me cry saying that's the truth. When she got angry she would follow me around the house daring me to hit her. She only stopped because Dad said she'd be the one to get arrested if she did get me to hit her.
I had to raise myself through T.V. and movies. Because my dad was too busy working himself to death because my mom couldn't keep a job. She'd get angry and quit. No, that's okay with my godfather because she raised you. No, she didn't.
This fight was the last straw even though it started with my so-called godfather it ended with her trying to manipulate me with the "I'm sorry you feel that way, or it's your problem if you can't handle me telling you the truth." Manipulation is everywhere, and I can't handle it anymore.
She said I was to call her if I ever felt like committing suicide. This was the help from my godfather and her. She's a liar and so is he.
That was the last straw the camel's back broke in half. I'm never going to trust her again.

I feel all alone in the world. I have a boyfriend and we have been together for four years .I want to get married and have a family with him but that seems like it's not happen. In the past I have been with someone for five years and he did not want get married. I feel like there is something wrong with me. Maybe this is for the best. I am a very depressed person. Hello, the wholesome janta of Chandigarh. This is going to be one of those ‘Reddit, do your thing’ kinda posts. So, my birthday is on 17th June and I wanted to arrange a small in-house party for some of my friends. The issue is that most of us live in PU’s hostels and don’t have a place to host such a party here in Chandigarh. The plan was to hold a low-key party with good food, beverages, and music of our own choice to dance on. There will be around 14-18 people at the party. Is there a way for me to rent a decent place for a night to host the party? Do any of you know of any place like that? Something not too expensive. The music would be as loud as it could be on a medium sized Bluetooth speaker and there is bound to be some dancing till late night. I’ve tried Air BnB’s and most of them have a no-party policy. Any ideas or leads will be appreciated. Come on Reddit, do your thing!

 | Basically, I've traded a dodge neon for this pig about 2 months ago. It's a 97 c1500, ive replaced the fuel tank, straps and pump, also filler neck, brake booster, master cylinder, abs pump, both coolant temp sensors, radiator, water pump thermostat and housing, and everything for a tuneup. It's still not getting up to temp, and backfiring at 70mph+, my next assumption is injectors, but still not getting up to temp? I got the brakes back to working fine. also yes, I did put m/t's on a 2wd, and I live in the rust belt, so its beautiful compared to what I've owned. I'm worried about my best friend and her relationship.
I know, it should be none of my business, but over the past few months I have become increasingly worried about my best friend (f18), we'll call her C.
So for context, she met this guy (m19), who we'll call K, at a concert in February. Now this is C's first actual relationship so of course at first she was over the moon about it and I was really happy for her, and things were going normally. Then about 2? weeks into their relationship K got kicked out of his house, lost his job, and decided to move in with C. (first red flag). C is still living with her parents but they are really chill and do not care that much, as long as their daughter is happy.
Then about a month (or less) later, I met K and he seemed like a cool guy. Then things started getting worse? well not really worse, but just more concerning from an outside perspective. I found out K liked to do a lot of illegal things that I was a bit iffy on (things like shoplifting but x100). This habit of his got worse and my friend did not seem to care much, so I just went with it. I mean, I am also a bit scared of K because of certain things.
Then as we continued to hang out more, things started to raise more red flags with me. I noticed that K has a very short fuse and will blow up at people. At first he was avoiding getting mad at C, and ended up getting mad at me instead. This was not good. Mainly because I never (rarely ever) get triggered by things, but he scared me. At that moment, he seemed like he could probably hurt someone physically.
I noticed more and more how often he would get mad at people and things and it did not sit right with me. I knew from the moment he first yelled at me that he was very capable of hurting C if he wanted, or even on instinct. He says that he would never and has control, but I don't think so.
What has brought this back to my attention is the fact that C has been distancing herself from everyone. That's concerning to me, because for the 4 years I've known her, that was the opposite of what she was usually like and I know when I distance myself, it's not a good sign, and her and I are a lot like minded. I was even talking with her mom (who is like a 2nd mother to me) the other day, and she said that C has been very avoident of talking with her now and everything which is very surprising considering that they used to be really tightly knit. So at this point, C has only really been socializing with K. Another red flag.
Why is this a red flag, if you can't already tell, well from what I have heard from my friend and witnessed myself, K has been lashing out at her more for certain things and it seems to be psychologically messing with her and making her believe that she can't say anything to anyone. This is so unlike her it's just making me so worried that she'll get herself sucked into this relationship that she'll stop caring about those who do care about her, and I fear this has already started to happen.
I can tell, she's in love, and she doesn't want to leave this relationship. I've been there, done that, but this is just getting to a point, if it wasn’t already, to where it is growing increasingly toxic. It reminds me so much of my parents relationship that I can see exactly where this might be headed and I don't want to see my best friend caught in that trap and end up losing everything in the process.
I honestly have no idea what to do which is why I'm on here asking. I'm considering talking to her parents separately and seeing if either they can have a talk with her or have us all have an intervention. Though I feel like if we do approach the situation like that, she may just cut everyone out completely or not willing to listen.
TLDR: My best friend is in a toxic relationship that could lead to her losing everything and me losing her.
Oh and to add on, K still does not have a job and is still living in C's house.

Divorced 10 years ago, child/spousal support was financially devastating, and the ex kept the house (I signed a quit-claim and stayed on the mortgage; clearly a terrible decision, but she was unable to refinance).
She failed to make payments, keeping my credit score pegged in the low 600s (sometimes lower). She recently paid off the unpaid balance on the mortgage (close to 100k, despite the fact that she has reported making $15k per year for the last 4 years), and I can now finally start rebuilding without that $100k in debt and her missed payments hurting my credit.
Thanks to my family helping with a down payment, my current wife and I were able to purchase a home based on her income only (approx 40k/yr). Over the past 10 years I've accrued $19k in high-interest credit card debt (average 25%). We bought well (a fixer upper, on which I've done a ton of work), financed at 2.85%, and have close to six figures in equity. I have stable employment and recently picked up a side job that will bring in about $1500 extra per month. I'll also be picking up close to $800/month from the child support relief.
I'd like to take out a HELOC to wipe out the credit card debt. Assuming the rate would be 8-10%, I'd be saving over 50% on interest. I'd use all of my side income and the child support 'gains' to attack the debt and get it paid off in under 2 years. My wife is risk averse when it comes to the house, and doesn't love the idea, but is willing to do it because she sees how stressful the debt is to me.
2 questions:
1) Is it a terrible idea?
2) I hate dealing with banks in their branches (find the experience gross). Is there a decent, trustworthy option to get a HELOC online? Is 8-10% a reasonable guess on rate?

I was served a petition on May 25th, 2023. This case is taking place in Texas.
The petition states that I am being sued for full custody of my son, and for child support. The petitioner is my son's paternal aunt. I am his paternal father. My son is 5.
My son's mother passed away on April of 2023. I was not notified of her death, until I was served May 2023.
When my son was born, I signed his birth certificate, and a seperate form acknowledging that I am his father. I am not sure what this form is called exactly, but I do have a physical copy.
What the petitioner is alleging:
• Petitioner alleges I have not seen my son in over 4 years.
Notes I feel are of importance:
• The petition states that my son remain ONLY at her families home address named in this case. Petitioner claims to have moved back to said family home to take care of my son, which is 3 minutes from my home, however I suspect she has taken him to her actual and main residence in another city, with her boyfriend. I had a welfare check done at said family home, and police were not able to locate him. I do not have proof of this as I can't hire a PI.
• In 2018, a protective order was placed against me by my son's paternal grandmother (on his mothers side) because I spat at her after a verbal altercation where she promised I would never see my son again. This has since been lifted years ago, and no other restraining / protective orders have been placed against me.
• After I received the petition, I had my brother type a short heart-felt letter offering my family & I's condolences, and explaining I would like to see my son via facetime or an in-person meeting to ensure his wellbeing. This note was left on the family home's door by my brother. I did not ask to take my son, just to see or speak with him. I've since found out she has filed for a temporary restraining order against me and used this letter as evidence. Her attorney states that "While this letter is not inherently threatening, we feel that My name does not need to see My sons name as this is a sensitive time for him." I now understand to only communicate via attorney's & not directly with petitioner or her family.
• I am financially stable, have stable housing under my name.
• I want full custody & want to include visitation rights to his mothers side of family as he has created a bond with them.
• I have since filed an answer & counter sued.
• I do have evidence of myself & other family members trying to reach out to my sons mother over the years, but were always ignored.
• I do have evidence showing I was financially taking care of my son, until his mother and family no longer accepted anything from me.
I am still actively looking for an attorney.
ANY advice, questions, or tips I am open to. I understand courts dig deep, So I am being as honest and forthcoming about my situation as possible to get the best advice.

- I've had a relationship with my son and was with him almost everyday until I had a falling out with my son's mothers family (4 years ago). After this falling out, they threatened me physically & made it clear that if I were to come around to see my son, they would find ways to have me put in jail. Not knowing my rights as a parent, I let them scare me into thinking I could never see my son again.
- This is far from the truth. My son lived with his mother & her immediate family at her home. When I would spend time with my son & his mother, it was ALWAYS in the company of her family, at her home. Not once did I ever get physically violent with the mother of my son, or my child. We did have verbal disagreements, but they were never physical or violent. Her family would often step in during our verbal disagreements, and try to turn them physical against me, but I was always smart enough to leave their home before it escalated.
- For context, when I met my sons mother she was on dialysis, and had began entering stage 4 of kidney failure, due to Lupus. She was told she would never have children, and her chances of survival due to lupus were low. Her doctors made it CLEAR it was a miracle she was still alive. I did ask for an abortion, but it was due to me being afraid of my sons mother's health condition, and how healthy our child would be after being born. It was NOT because I didn't want to be a father. My son is a GIFT I am proud of, and love more than anything.
- My son knows who I am, he knows I am his father. I have plenty of pictures with my son, his mother, and I celebrating moments. Going out to stores, dinners, buying him gifts. I was financially taking care of my son, until his mother stopped accepting anything I bought or tried to send to my son. I was forced out of his life. IF my son no longer recognizes me as his father, it is because he was taught so.

My 8 year old, Sam, started talking about another little girl, Val, at school a couple months ago. Val's mom reached out to me for a playdate, which they had. Then they were mutually invited to each other's birthday parties. When Val was at Sam's birthday party she showed up much later than the 4 other girls. All the kids were playing nicely together until Val arrived. Then she wanted only to play with my daughter and kept trying to exclude the other kids from what they were playing with, which Sam also started participating in. Val also didn't like any of the birthday activities or food I had and mostly stayed in the house while the other kids were outside. Val also would tell me the other kids didn't want to play with her, were being mean to her and calling her names, which was not at all what I observed. I told her you're telling them what they can and can't play with and dictating everything they are doing, if you want to play with them you've got to stop trying to boss them around constantly and just let them play too.
I also went to a few school events in the last couple weeks where val and Sam would again be very exclusionary to the other little girls my daughter has been friends with since kindergarten. And they'd tell me the other girls didn't want to play with and are mean to them. My daughter previously never had any issues with these other kids. I told sam she couldn't but she could tell her on the bus the next morning. My daughter told me she couldn't talk to this other friend because Val would get mad at her for talking to the other kids. I told Sam I really didn't like that and I didn't like her hanging out with Val if that's how they would act together, and that Val getting mad at her for talking to other kids wasn't acceptable for me. I figured since it was the end of the school year I could just let it go, hope they grow apart over the summer and get placed in different classes next year.
Well I got a text from Val's mom this week asking me why Val is saying she can't be friends with Sam anymore and did Val misbehave at the birthday party. Hello everyone, I think I might be in that kind of relationship where the first year is great and now after that here comes her true nature (manipulative, controlling, abusive).
First, I think she has an anger issue (she said she was abused physically by her dad when she was a child), then the first thought comes to my mind when she was mad at me is she need a target to burst his emotional which is me. She never getting mad at her friends like she did to me.
and Second from her Mother is literally just like her, her mother will easily get annoyed.
She would throw tantrum if her wish is not fulfilled like I didnt get a haircut or not following his simple wish (I didnt want to regularly fulfill her wish because i dont want to be controlled by her).
When she gets mad, she will blocked me, so I tried to reach her out by seeking forgiveness on other chating app, and often I come to her house. But she still mad and self-centered egoistic, i feel like she wont forgive me unless I'm begging, like literally begging for a forgiveness to please her ego. When i decided not to reach her then she unblocked one my my account and calls me hours later and she said "Why wouldnt you reach me?!", and I said "I'm giving you time to calm yourself", then she will getting mad again because "im not reaching her", how would I supposed to reach her if she blocked all my account?
She sometimes throw verbal abuses when I do small mistakes like "fuck you" "you're a dog/ugly/stupid" "kill me" and etc.
We've been saving money every weekend, She is very mad at me when she found out I bought $20 board games (with my own money ofc), she said that my behaviour is childish and it waste of money.
She always said let's break up, I sometimes said yes and in the end she calls me asking like "Why would you break me up? why is there no effort?" and the fight goes on until I apologize again.
Meanwhile when I said let's breaking up , she's agree too but she calls me again and asking "Is this what you want the whole time?" and we fighting agsin, and in the end I always apologize and we're back in relationship.
One day, I'm sick of what she's been saying to me and I wont give in anymore to her, I will stand up for myself to maintain my self-respect, and doesnt care anymore of what she said to me, I don't love her anymore but I still in this kind of relationship which trust and freedom doesnt work anymore.
I believe she couldn't let me go because I always help her with all of her problems, She is the type of person who will make you grief/make you feel wrong, eventhough you didn't do anything wrong.
How should I end this relationship?

I was served a petition on May 25th, 2023. This case is taking place in Texas.
The petition states that I am being sued for full custody of my son, and for child support. The petitioner is my son's paternal aunt. I am his paternal father. My son is 5.
My son's mother passed away on April of 2023. I was not notified of her death, until I was served May 2023.
When my son was born, I signed his birth certificate, and a seperate form acknowledging that I am his father. I am not sure what this form is called exactly, but I do have a physical copy.
What the petitioner is alleging:
• Petitioner alleges I have not seen my son in over 4 years.
Notes I feel are of importance:
• The petition states that my son remain ONLY at her families home address named in this case. Petitioner claims to have moved back to said family home to take care of my son, which is 3 minutes from my home, however I suspect she has taken him to her actual and main residence in another city, with her boyfriend. I had a welfare check done at said family home, and police were not able to locate him. I do not have proof of this as I can't hire a PI.
• In 2018, a protective order was placed against me by my son's paternal grandmother (on his mothers side) because I spat at her after a verbal altercation where she promised I would never see my son again. This has since been lifted years ago, and no other restraining / protective orders have been placed against me.
• After I received the petition, I had my brother type a short heart-felt letter offering my family & I's condolences, and explaining I would like to see my son via facetime or an in-person meeting to ensure his wellbeing. This note was left on the family home's door by my brother. I did not ask to take my son, just to see or speak with him. I've since found out she has filed for a temporary restraining order against me and used this letter as evidence. Her attorney states that "While this letter is not inherently threatening, we feel that My name does not need to see My sons name as this is a sensitive time for him." I now understand to only communicate via attorney's & not directly with petitioner or her family.
• I am financially stable, have stable housing under my name.
• I want full custody & want to include visitation rights to his mothers side of family as he has created a bond with them.
• I have since filed an answer & counter sued.
• I do have evidence of myself & other family members trying to reach out to my sons mother over the years, but were always ignored.
• I do have evidence showing I was financially taking care of my son, until his mother and family no longer accepted anything from me.
I am still actively looking for an attorney.

- I've had a relationship with my son and was with him almost everyday until I had a falling out with my son's mothers family (4 years ago). After this falling out, they threatened me physically & made it clear that if I were to come around to see my son, they would find ways to have me put in jail. Not knowing my rights as a parent, I let them scare me into thinking I could never see my son again.
- This is far from the truth. My son lived with his mother & her immediate family at her home. When I would spend time with my son & his mother, it was ALWAYS in the company of her family, at her home. Not once did I ever get physically violent with the mother of my son, or my child. We did have verbal disagreements, but they were never physical or violent. Her family would often step in during our verbal disagreements, and try to turn them physical against me, but I was always smart enough to leave their home before it escalated.
- For context, when I met my sons mother she was on dialysis, and had began entering stage 4 of kidney failure, due to Lupus. She was told she would never have children, and her chances of survival due to lupus were low. Her doctors made it CLEAR it was a miracle she was still alive. I did ask for an abortion, but it was due to me being afraid of my sons mother's health condition, and how healthy our child would be after being born. It was NOT because I didn't want to be a father. My son is a GIFT I am proud of, and love more than anything.
- My son knows who I am, he knows I am his father. I have plenty of pictures with my son, his mother, and I celebrating moments. Going out to stores, dinners, buying him gifts. I was financially taking care of my son, until his mother stopped accepting anything I bought or tried to send to my son. I was forced out of his life. IF my son no longer recognizes me as his father, it is because he was taught so.

hey everyone, i’m boarding a relative’s cat for a couple of weeks. i’ve got a cat of my own who isn’t friendly to other cats. for this reason we’ve kept them isolated for the two week period, and slowly are introducing them. the issue is the guest cat is desperate to get out of the room and explore the house. he’s been bolting out and ruining the slow introduction i’ve been trying to attempt, and my cat has tried to attack him more than once. she’s a feisty calico and doesn’t take kindly to newcomers.
i feel like an asshole keeping him in the guest room, and give him relief breaks in my bedroom which is much bigger. also make sure he has access to a window, plenty of toys, and i spend half the day in there with him making sure he’s okay. is there anything i can do to make his situation better?

Since Lulu never carries many colors in race length, I regularly get my swiftlies hemmed at the store. Every experience has been great. I recently took two SS swiftlies (unworn, NWT) to get hemmed.
One was ready about a week ago, and the other was still in progress. I received an email yesterday that the second one was ready, but when I went to pick it up, they never found it (after looking for ~10 mins).
I was super worried that I’d be SOL, because at first the sale associate asked if I’d possibly had a friend pick it up for me. Fortunately, though, she was super apologetic and friendly. She and the manager gave me the option to either pick out another item or get a full refund. I ended up getting another SS swiftly (and ironically, gave it back to them to hem.. lol).
I think that’s it’s sort of sloppy for them to totally misplace an order like that. In the future I’ll never bring a hem order with the tags still on (I almost wonder if the item was sold.. 🫠) Lulu should keep the entire order together instead of having the customer pick them up individually. It’s also worth noting that I don’t think they’ve ever asked to scan my confirmation email’s barcode or anything, which is sus.
The tragic part about this is that it was *sonic pink * -- it took everything in me not to LITERALLY get police involved. T&P’s appreciated 🙏
