Little bit long so buckle up and share all your advice :) My husband (USC) and I filed I-765, I-131,I-130, I-485 April 2022. Did some biometrics in May 2022. Moved house (updated address with someone on the USCIS phone line). My 765 & 131 were approved March 2023! Had to move again March 2023 but updated address again with no issues. April 2023 RFE was requested and we sent them off with the extra support documents like impact statements etc. We’re an IOE case number and assumed our case would take at least until December 2023 to be approved as that would be our 2nd year wedding anniversary. Having not been able to leave USA since arriving on my J1 Trainee Program visa in 2020 we decided to pop over to Ireland to celebrate my birthday with some close friends who live there for a week whilst husband also does some work meetings (June 9, Gemini FTW!!). Lawyers filled us in on the issues that would occur if case gets approved whilst we’re out of the country. Checked all month but no movement at all. Well, we flew out June 8. Checked again and June 6 (I swear I checked this in the am to no movement) suddenly it was being reviewed, June 7 131 & 485 were both APPROVED!! Obviously we’re thrilled and feeling so thankful, but also feeling frustrated and annoyed. Yep we took a risk going overseas. That’s on us. The frustration is that 485 is requesting biometrics and have booked me in for 6/30/23- this letter was addressed to our first address when we filed which is on the East coast. We’ve lived West coast the past two addresses and have not missed any mail since moving. Our lawyers are East coast based and they receive all the mail we do etc. The 130 was addressed to our current address. It’s Saturday so we’ll write our lawyers an email and all that jazz. I’m assuming I’ll be able to reschedule my biometrics because I do not want to fly back east to do the thing I’ve already done. That’s all depending on if they let me back into the country. I’m hoping that as the GC hasn’t been issued because biometrics appt that on a technicality I’ll be able to get back in with less issues.
Any advice on what we should print out for my re entry debacle (we have stuff with us but curious to see what people suggest). Also any advice on what to say to lawyer would be handy too.

We're planning a trip with extended family in July where we'll be spending one day in each park on weekdays at the end of July. Our family members are FL residents and are taking advantage of the $58 deal and have their park reservations set.
We're from out of state, so looking at the $99 per day deal. My one hang up is the lack of park reservations - I don't want to miss out on seeing my relatives kids see each park for the first time, but if the reservations fill up randomly, my understanding is my husband and I are stuck. Not to mention the deal tickets (I think) have to be used in 7 days so we'd either lose the day or need to extend our flight/hotel to use it up by ourselves.
Technically I can afford two full price 4 day tickets to lock in reservations for the two of us, but it's an extra $250 I'd rather put to something else (we do ok, but not so well that I like to waste money, I mean, who does).
I'm also the planner in the family and the one that owns all the reservations to date, though in a worst case scenario I'm sure our relatives could figure it out. I'm also the one planning to buy Genie+ and ILL for all of us.
So...do I buy full price tickets for peace of mind, or the deal tickets to save money? I realize this is a decision only I can make, but appreciate input.

I'm gonna throw some notes about each below in case someone is looking for something new and awesome to try. I have a fairly "all over the place" palate bit I definitely like things on the sweeter side. As you can see, this isn't one of those braggy "look at my 347 unopened bottles!" posts, I'm just here to share my thoughts. Almost everything here is open and being enjoyed. Pic doesn't show the bottle of Early Times BiB I picked up a few days ago, but other than that it's what I've got going on right now. Great for what it is and I'm planning to dive into their higher-end stuff soon cause I do dig the flavor profile. Johnnie Walker Blue Label- Straight up? Not a huge fan. I'd had some back in 2006 out celebrating with the band I managed in another life and I thought it was smooth, buttery deliciousness. Apparently the fog of memory served poorly, cause I bought this a couple months ago and it's not at all what I remember. Smoky, uncomplicated, and just kinda wack mouthfeel. I'll finish it, but it won't be a staple. Compass Box Hedonism- Now THIS shit is the business! This WILL be a staple, it just hits all the notes I look for in a blended scotch- vanilla, holiday vibes, and a super creamy mouthfeel. Plus, I can snag two bottles of this wonder-liquid for the price of 1 bottle of JWBL, and for my palate this blended Scotch blows it out of the water. Essential stuff. Rabbit Hole Dareringer- I drank a little TOO much of this stuff last night cause holy SHIT I dig this stuff. Sh-sh-sh-sh-sh-sh-sh-sh-Sherry bomb! This is a damn fine sweet bourbon, and it's another one that hits all the right notes for me. Sweet, viscous, warm, not-too-conplex-but-still-interesting, and deceptively crushable. If you have even a passing interest in finished bourbons you need to get on board with this one. I'm trying to NOT finish my bottle too fast cause I gotta chill on the spends for a bit but this stuff will be staying on my shelf as a staple for the foreseeable future. Absolutely excellent. William Wolf Pecan Flavored Bourbon- Yeah, yeah- I know. In my defense, my quest for awesome sweet bourbon was always gonna lead me to trying this stuff and it did. You know what though? Fuck the snobbery, cause it's actually really good! I've read some pretty expert-level reviews that feel the same way so I'm not a total wackjob, and it's perfect for sipping here and there in the colder months. Might not be a staple, but I don't regret giving it a shot! Barrell Seagrass- Wow. Super wow. Super holy shitballs wow. This liquid is outstanding, through and through. It runs hot, but if you throw in a few ice cubes and let it breathe for about 15 minutes it chills out and all that apricot, sweet, slight rye spiciness just grows wings and it becomes a whole other beast. And, it holds its viscosity really well with the ice added which is a really great bonus feature cause I usually try my whiskey neat but do most of my drinking with a little ice. Just my personal preference I guess. Regardless, this stuff is killer and I'll likely keep it around too. Sagamore Spirit Double Oak Rye- Everything you've read about this stuff is true. Admittedly I haven't spent a lot of time with it yet, but its damn good. If you close your eyes it's almost like you're drinking a nice, sweet-leaning, oaky bourbon but the rye spice comes in on the finish and really makes itself known. I read all the reviews around here and bourbon and bought two bottles blind. Super glad I did and I can't wait to dig in some more. Why haven't I had more? See next entry.:) Woodford Reserve Double Oaked- THIS stuff right here. Hooooooly shit do I love this stuff. Like the Sagamore Spirit DO rye above, I'd seen the reviews and figured this would be right there in my sweet spot so I went out and bought two bottles blind. One is the standard stuff and the other is a TW store pick. Spoiler alert- they're both fucking EXCELLENT and WRDO is now an all-time fave bourbon and what I'd call my "daily driver". It's rich, sweet, viscous, and not TOO pricey. Plus, it's not crazy allocated or hard to find in any way. This shit's a winner across the board and if your taste is at all similar to mine this needs to be on your shelf at all times. Stellar stuff! OK, I know that's not how most people review shit, but who cares?! We're all different and we all have different tastes, and I'm not trying to become a professional reviewer or anything so I'm just being myself. Screw it. What are my non-whiskey shelfmates you're seeing? Besides the souvenir bottle of Bacardi on the left and the old-ass bottle of wine I'll never drink sitting next to it there's Brinley Shipwreck Vanilla Rum which is delicious, Topper's Coconut Rhum which is also fantastic, Siesta Key Toasted Coconut Rum which is absolutely amazing and my new fave of that type, a Camus VS cognac which is a "daily driver" cognac that rules mixed with lime Bubly, and Martell Cordon Bleu cognac which is fucking phenomenal. So there you have it, my taste is all over the map and I like what I like. Right now I'm definitely getting more into bourbons so that's going to be my focus for a while, but I see a lot more Irish whiskey experimentation on the horizon soon too so we'll see what happens. Oh yeah, one more thing: Early Times Bottled-In-Bond- This stuff is excellent for sub-$30 and honestly I like it more than some $80 + bourbons I've tried too. I cracked my bottle a week ago and couldn't stop leading to a pretty hazy bit super fun night with (thankfully) no hangover the next morning. It's simple, smooth, and currently sitting right next to my WRDO as a daily driver shotgun rider. Proof positive that whiskey doesn't have to be expensive or fancy to be fucking fantastic, and for a $25 LITRE I'll be keeping one or more bottles around for the foreseeable future just like my much-loved WRDO. As a current UPenn Wharton dual degree engineering student, I am here to share an insight I’ve picked up over my HS years creating my ED app that has helped me and other students navigate the last few months of the high-stress period in college applications.
It's the following two words: "Be ruthless."
What does it mean to be ruthless in this context? It comes down to your ability to say 'No' to things that don't matter and instead focus your time and energy on the things that do. I like Steve Jobs's quotes, "Deciding what not to do is just as important as deciding what to do" and, "People think focus means saying yes to the thing you've got to focus on. But that's not what it means at all. It means saying no to the hundred other good ideas that there are."
In the months leading up to university applications, you will be swamped with assignments, tests, application forms, extracurriculars, and more. It's crucial to identify what among these is truly important and will contribute the most to your uni app success.
From my observations, I (and other students I know) made the mistake of trying to do everything. Instead, identify the one to three tasks per day that yield the most results and prioritize THAT. Time and attention are your most valuable resources, and how you utilize them in these crucial months can make or break your college applications.
For instance, you might have some extracurricular activities that, despite the time and effort you put into them, do not contribute to your application. Stop doing these. Put all your time and effort into the tasks that the university admissions officer will notice and appreciate. Typically these are also easy tasks (e.g. going to a Science club meeting, with this meeting having no impact on how your AO reviews and looks at your app). Instead, focus on the hard but necessary tasks.
Say 'No' to solicitations on your time that do not add value to your goals.
However, this doesn't mean you should never rest or explore your hobbies (this is high school). Rest and recovery are essential for high performance. All I'm saying is to be careful about what you say 'Yes' to and what you say 'No' to. And remember, once you get into your preferred university, you'll have plenty of time to enjoy all the things you may have "missed out on" (if you could even call it that).
In conclusion, stay ruthless with your time, priorities, and what you choose to say 'Yes' and 'No' to. Focus on saying 'No' to unimportant things and that will give you the time to do the important things. That's the difference between successful and unsuccessful students.

Starting to feel like JP's course on Udemy is outdated. I like his encouragement and style, and I'm clearly learning things... but is it all for not?
Keep seeing AR + 3rd Rock + Vargas (which I love that dude, so entrancing)... but I'm coming from a background where the terms and processes are not the daily jargon/practice (12 years in my job, managing multi-unit franchises).
I'm constantly seeing people cram in like 2 weeks, while I've been slipping in 2 minute videos here and there for close to a MONTH now. Are you guys eating steroids and adderall for breakfast? Lololol.
I want a healthy balance of actual test prep but also trying to actually absorb a few concepts and jargon to retain as I go (ya know, for interviews and resume etc). But I don't want to be behind the times.
What do you think? What is/was a waste or not worth the time for you? What made you have to UN-learn or catch up and how/when did you realize that you went down the wrong fork in the road? Etc. Thanks in advance!

2023.06.10 19:29 AQ_SIP If I were to introduce another set of Trolls to the Delta session, how do you think I should do it?
If you're unaware of what I'm talking about, I'm trying to write a fanfic that includes the last four humans as the last four classpects that the humans didn't have. (Bard of Doom, Mage of Rage, Sylph of Blood and Thief of Mind.) I already decided that the Crocker and Lalonde kid were based off Dadbert and one of his colleagues from his phone, Fedora Freak.
But what about the aliens, if there are any? The alpha trolls kinda take the place of the ancestors, and vice versa. So if there ARE new trolls, I expect there to be a bit of a war between ancestor Meenah and ancestor Feferi who both may be the same age, so are of equal power to each other, and are ready to go through that battle to decide who is the Condesce. A lot more people are alive now than there are, considering Feferi, the Witch of Life, may somehow be extending the other troll's lives somehow using her aspect.
I also suspect Kurloz and Gamzee are both off, being the Mirthful Messiahs, or just being Grand Highbloods. Gamzee might be crazy enough to think that still on Alternia, unless he keeps eating those sopor pies.
But with all this backstory on the ancestors, I have no actual information on the new trolls themselves, since there's literally nobody else they could be from either session, so should I even make new trolls? Or should I make different aliens instead, like how the Alpha session brought the cherubs? Then again, the Alpha session also brought 12 new trolls, so I may have to add new aliens WITH those new trolls?
What do you guys think? Where should I take his alien idea? Or should I leave the humans and guardians to be the only thing in this session, beyond our potential main villain?
TL;DR, Both ancestors from Alpha and Beta will be in the Delta Session Alternia, if I bring in Trolls. Alpha brought in cherubs AND trolls, so now I'm wondering if I should bring any trolls or aliens.
(That's not short, but it's short compared to the wall, so there.)

But what about the aliens, if there are any? The alpha trolls kinda take the place of the ancestors, and vice versa. So if there ARE new trolls, I expect there to be a bit of a war between ancestor Meenah and ancestor Feferi who both may be the same age, so are of equal power to each other, and are ready to go through that battle to decide who is the Condesce. A lot more people are alive now than there are, considering Feferi, the Witch of Life, may somehow be extending the other troll's lives somehow using her aspect.
I also suspect Kurloz and Gamzee are both off, being the Mirthful Messiahs, or just being Grand Highbloods. Gamzee might be crazy enough to think that still on Alternia, unless he keeps eating those sopor pies.
But with all this backstory on the ancestors, I have no actual information on the new trolls themselves, since there's literally nobody else they could be from either session, so should I even make new trolls? Or should I make different aliens instead, like how the Alpha session brought the cherubs? Then again, the Alpha session also brought 12 new trolls, so I may have to add new aliens WITH those new trolls?
What do you guys think? Where should I take his alien idea? Or should I leave the humans and guardians to be the only thing in this session, beyond our potential main villain?
TL;DR, Both ancestors from Alpha and Beta will be in the Delta Session Alternia, if I bring in Trolls. Alpha brought in cherubs AND trolls, so now I'm wondering if I should bring any trolls or aliens.
(That's not short, but it's short compared to the wall, so there.)

Hey guys I wanted to ask (and share) what y’all do to make university for your sims more interesting? I have 2 sims currently enrolled and I wanna see if there’s anything more I can do!
For me this is pretty much what I do so far:
• Turn aging off, university can take very long and I don’t feel like wasting my sims entire Life stage just on studying
• Add max 2 courses for my sim, yes that does make it longer but I cannot deal with 4 courses! My sim will be a slave to their studies and they have 0 social life
• Restyle their Roommates fashion sense, we all know what Townies can look like so I personally feel more at ease if they actually look like Young Adults and don’t come around with their eyeball rings and socks in sandals
• Letting them host parties
• Being okay with them not being a stellar student, if the party went till 4 am then they sure as hell won’t be fit for the 8 am lecture
• Joining Organisations but not the E-Sports or Soccer team, I feel like organisations are more carefree you can decide to go if you like whilst the Sport options,especially the Soccer Team gets annoying having to go each day for my sim, I usually have them join it for a while but then quit
• If they get all their Course work done on the weekend i often take them to visit their family/go somewhere to have fun like Sulani or Mt. Komorebi as a "Road Trip" kinda and to relax from studying

Leading AGI theorist, Dr. Ben Goertzel, came on my podcast to school me on artificial general intelligence and the philosophy of mind behind his theorizing about his new AGI venture, OpenCog Hyperon. He's a really fascinating thinker and I'm aure many in jere are familiar with him. He can speak about just about anything, so I tried to get him talking about things other podcasters haven't. We do get into some definitions, including the definition of intelligence which is integral to his project and understanding of AGI. I'm a philosophy grad student so part of my goal was to introduce Ben's work to the philosophers that listen to my podcast. Ben thinks that the best way to achieve AGI is through a cognitive synnergy between logic systems, neural nets, and evolutionary systems. This hybridized approach is supposed to better approximate what goes on in the human mind. Hopefully this is the first of many episodes with him. Watch it here and let me know what you think.

I've read lots of things about running RB on different computers etc. I have RB on Creative Plan so my "database" is synced between two computers and that seems to work fine (although slow to update).
My primary computer, which is connected to my DJ gear has a local SSD drive that stores my music library. Everything works fine here. My secondary computer also has a local SSD drive that stores my music. Both SSD drives are replicated in near real time so the music files are in sync.
My challenge is that on my secondary computer, the path to the music library is invalid because it's "computer name/Volume/RB-Storage". If the computer names were not different than it would match as both SSD's on both computers are named the same.
The question here is whether or not it is safe to auto relocate (or manually relocate) the files depending on which computer I'm working from? This assumes that I'm only ever using one computer at a time. I am assuming this is safe to update the location of the files dependant on which computer I'm working from .. but any gotcha's I should be aware of?
Hoping someone is already doing this .... :)

I love my dad, but always knew him to not really care for it hate the lgbt, he has common issues people his age have with trans people, which we argue about all the time, (he doesn’t hate them just believes in stupid stereotypes and thinks the whole kids thing is true) he knows I’m bi and I’m shocked when I told him he just made some silly jokes and moved on, but when I said about being annoyed about missing a pride event near me, he said we could go, just a bit shocked as it seems he would do that sort of thing, but he’s gonna tomorrow, so yk, yay, thought I’d say it here as it’s something that means a lot to me and this community means a lot to me too yk

As I said: I'm stuck between a mid-level Steamdeck, or something akin to Ayn Odin.
I'm not a huge gamer; I played League of Legends for a long time for the sake of my mental health and sanity (and time), gave that up, and honestly haven't been gaming much lately. I WFH all day so part of the reasoning is that I simply don't want to sit at a computer at night after being at it all day.
I do have a decent Steam library of a few dozen games and was playing some lighter stuff like:
I'm most interested in emulation and being able to play a lot of SNES games like the Mario-stuff with my wife (have it hooked up to the TV, etc.).
I guess I just can't decide whether it's worth it to spend the extra couple hundred on the Steamdeck, or go with something simpler like an Ayn Odin.
If I went with the Steamdeck, it seems like there's going to be at least $200-300 worth of accessories necessary to really make it sweet; so secondarily, what you folks recommend?

I feel like he has a right to know about being a grandad but, he was never too involved in my life and I fear he won't be too bothered by the news. Any advice on this would be helpful. This person just dumped me a couple of days ago, through text, fled to their hometown, went no contact after saying they wouldnt disappear. Ive told.them before the break up that i was afraid of being abandoned, like it happened in the past. They seemed so empathic towards me, so.loving, so caring to my feelings and my pain from the past. But out of nowhere, they became a complete stranger, plain out just other person.
They betrayed my trust and every word they said to me, i would have much preffered for them.to be honest and say "i dont love you and i do not care about you, i dont want to speak to.you again"
But they throwed lies about wanting to still being friends, they said they still wanted to be a friend i can trust, and that they didnt want things to end in anger or arguments.
Yet their actions spoke against every possible word they said, they did nothing to end things in an adult fashion, they didnt keep their word, they became a complete stranger. They went no contact.
Which brings me to my question, is it drastic if i erase everything from my memory? Like, if i think the person i knew is dead, it never existed in the first place, everything about the past 6 months did not exist, stuff like that, just forget everything happened. Because being a dumpee, thinking about the beautiful memories, the love we shared, the letters and pictures, everything that was beautiful back then, now its a dagger through my heart. Because the actions of this new person are destroying everything i though we had and shared, everything i though was "them", and i can't keep those memories without looking at the "new them" and feeling the biggest pain i thought i would never feel.

I love my husband and SD. I'd like to have constructive dealings with HCBM, but HC. I catch myself from time-to-time looking at my SD with resentment. When my husband is upset about something related to HCBM, I can feel my vibe shift. I work from home and my husband leaves early in the mornings for work. I typically enjoy waking her up, getting her ready, preparing breakfast, our morning chats and taking her to school/summer camps. I'm here when she gets off the bus and I deal with the after school snacks, helping with homework, etc. However, when my husband and I don't see eye-to-eye on something SD related or when there's BM drama, it makes me feel like no one appreciates all this extra shit I have to do!!!
I realize a few things here... I'm an adult and am in control of my feelings. The SD has nothing to do with all the issues between her parents. What tips/tricks/resources do you all use to snap yourself out of feeling bad for yourselves?
