Found a clean title 06 Sentra 37k miles, automatic at a dealer. Only thing I seem to see was some cvt trans complaints, then again I can't get clear answers on that cause some people say this year range didn't have auto transmission issues, just later models. Just looking for some clarification and if this car is worth getting for a daily driver. It's inspected and service records. Just a little rough around the edges body wise.

Hello- my life has been spiraling into hell since I took my 2016 Mitsubishi Outlander to be serviced at the new Mitsubishi dealership.
I took it in for them to fix my seatbelt.
They said there were open recalls that they could take care of. On the 3rd of may they did the CVT recall on my car.
Within days I started feeling hesitation that I had never before and on the 17th my transmission went out.
I took it back up to the dealership -with it barely running. They quoted me 8k for a transmission. And had me pay for a fluid change while they just tried to push me to buy a new car.
I had to leave and I hardly made it home my car has had to sit in the drive way not even in the garage (now has a busted back window because of this)
It was weeks that I had an open case with Mitsubishis customer service- finally getting an answer yesterday.
For me to pay for it to be towed back to the dealership so (someone else?) can look at it to see if they would be willing to replace the transmission for me.
I need to know if anyone has had this happen to them after the CVT recall. Or ANY advice to help me and my family with what to do in this terrible situation.

So I’m deciding between a 2014 juke and a 2014 camry. Both at 104k miles and about same price with the juke being $11.5k and the camry $13k. After everything I’m hearing I want to get the Camry but the thing that is making me wonder, it’s going to sound dumb, but the dealership itself. The Camry is from an independent dealership, while it has good reviews, isn’t it better getting a car from an actual dealership? If that makes sense. More than likely I’m going to get the Camry, but I just wanna hear some thoughts on this before I buy this week. Thanks!
Edit: the guy with the Camry said they did needed to replace a door, needed some bodywork done. I ran the VIN number nothing came up in terms of accidents but does that sound shady or no?

My mom's Quest has been taken care of very very well. She bought it brand new right after she got her US citizenship back in 2012 and she's always had her maintenance done always, from what she's told me.
There has only been one minor issue (completely unrelated to this code) with a radiator leak which I replacement without any issues back @ 110 - 120k almost 2 years ish ago.
I've been researching a bit, it seems that there's a lot of Nissans that's faced this issue with the step motor across Muranos, Sentras, Altimas, etc... I am not a certified mechanic at all, but I am mechanically inclined to where I can handle most intermediate task with cars and bikes. Seen a few videos on YT of this part being replaced on other cars but the Quest and it doesn't seem too overly demanding.

I’ll get straight to it. Bought a used car in June 2022. 2017 Nissan Sentra. Got an email about a safety recall for the stop light switch in Sept 2022. Went in to get it fixed because my ABS light was coming on. Got it fixed and ABS light was no longer showing. Two days after, my gear shift starts sticking. Only happened twice in a week so I assumed it was ok. All of a sudden my gear shift is sticking every day. I now have to stick a pin into the shift lock so that I can move my gear shift. I’ve told the dealership and they are denying that this is a result of the service they did for the recall. I had a guy literally tell me that its because I have “gunk” stuck in my gear shift somewhere. He said that was the only reason it was doing that and that I’d had to get my gear replaced??? That all honestly sounded like bs to me. I asked if if there was any other reason other than “gunk” being stuck in my gear that it could be sticking and this was the only reason he could give me. Well I looked up the safety recall and found that the car wasn’t even supposed to be sold to me before the recall was fixed. Exact wording

I have a 2021 Nissan Kicks SV that I purchased brand new in Feb 2021. I owe about $13k on it, and it is valued around $22k. It is in good condition, I wouldn't say great because there's a few paint chips and dings, but other than it's fine. It has about 39,600 miles on it.
I really hate this car, like I really hate it. It doesn't have any of the features I want, and it is just uncomfortable for me. My husband is 6'7, so he barely fits. We plan to have kids within the next year or so, so we're going to need a bigger car anyways, due to a car seat not fitting if my husband is in the car.
I have found a 2021 Nissan Murano Platinum for sale. It has 58k miles, and is listed for 32k. It has every single feature I would ever want in a car. My husband even fits in it, and we know this because we looked at one a few years back when we thought he was going to need a new car. It does get slightly worse gas mileage than my Kicks, and I commute to work on the interstate everyday.
Is it worth trading in my car for a car that is the same year, but has more miles on it? This car will no doubt last us longer than my current car, as it is big enough for my husband and kids. He just doesn't think it is justifiable to trade my car in right now since we don't have kids yet. I think it makes sense to trade it in right now while it is still high value.
***Also, I'm aware of the bad rep Nissan's and CVT's get, I just really like this Murano. My husband has a 2013 Nissan Altima with only 50k miles and his CVT is doing great.***

It needs the pressure control solenoid fixed but the issue is many mechanics don’t want to work on a CVT transmission . That said, we thought it was reasonably fun to drive when we last reviewed it. Currently, I’m driving a 2013 Nissan Sentra. I bought it used in 2013 and it has served me adequately other than the transmission replacement that Nissan partially covered the expense for. Currently it has about 125k miles.
The car sucks: it’s slow, uncomfortable and genuinely uninspiring to drive. I might get another 60-70k out of it with diligent maintenance. Or I might not. That’s what worries me. My commute sees me putting on about 20-25k miles a year and so I’m in my car a fair amount. Im not sure how much longer this POS will last me.
Is it worth it for me to look into buying a car that’s updated and safer for a child? Let’s just assume my car kicks the bucket and I need something to get me back and forth work and is somewhat fun to drive. What should I be looking at in todays market?

Hello, I have a 2016 Nissan Sentra SR, I've been having a problem with it recently. It feels like my car is slipping and recovers but eventually does it again, this happens now and then. The weird thing is I had my transmission replaced only a couple of months ago, now what it does is completely lose power and will not allow any gas to it, and the battery and check engine light come on, yet it does not store a code. I'm at a loss for what it is and I've taken it back to the mechanics' shop who did my transmission twice and it still hasn't been fixed. What can it be? I really need the help as I just want to drive my car.

50% of anticipated miles will be adventure trips w/ a partner or friends (ie 90% highway, 10% remote offroad). NOT intended for deliberate rock-crawling or hardcore wheeling, overlanding, etc.
Other 50% will be occasional grocery-getting, poor-weather commuting, and cross-town errands and socializing in a highway-heavy city with clogged arteries and narrow neighborhood roads.
At home, I want it to have good utility for giving friends rides, schlepping furniture and bikes, and being a reliable source of mobility in crises.
I DON'T need a typical commuter, and willing to accept compromises in efficiency as result. My "daily driver" is my bicycle, including for most local errands. Expecting 5-10k mi/year, majority highway.

- It seems like they stopped making what I really want in the mid-2000s. ~'95-'05 Cherokee XJ/ZJ, Pathfinder, Rodeo, Trooper, Montero, Sidekick, Tracker, etc. The few that are left often fit the budget, but with serious concerns about reliability, safety, and remaining life. Ultimately, I don't think I'd trust one of these long-distance or in the backcountry unless it was a really prime specimen (which is rare/expensive).

Hey,
I promise this isn’t a ‘what car should I buy’ post.
I’m interested in Nissan and Toyota Crossovers.
I found a 2016 rouge that has a CVT. I personally don’t have an issue with CVT as a concept, but my understanding is on a lot of cars; especially with Jatco models, they are put in as a cost saving measure, and really cheaply made.
Nissan owns Jatco, so I don’t think it’s a stretch to be worried about it
Does anyone here have any experience with them? Does anyone know if they are faulty, or prone to break more than a traditional transmission.
