First responder universal tickets

Hi everyone,
I’ve been looking into PhD programs and wondering if anyone can give me guidance on whether or not I have a good chance of getting accepted to MIT’s Operations Research PhD program or Princeton’s Operations Research and Financial Engineering PhD program.
I received a Bachelor of Arts in Economics, Accounting, and Computer Science from the University of Notre Dame and graduated with a 3.7/4.0. I also received my Master of Science in Business Analytics and Finance from Cornell University, and graduated with a 4.15/4.3.
At Cornell, I conducted research on Quant Trading and how to use linear regression to predict stock prices.
I had my first internship as a Data Analyst at Allstate, and since then interned at British Petroleum (bp) as a quantitative trading intern, as well as StoneX Group Inc working with Python as a Solution Analyst intern.
I am only 22, and have not yet held a full time job. I know I will be able to have 3 very strong recommendation letters when I apply.
Do you all think my application would be strong, and do you have any feedback for me?

I hadn't been on bumble for a minute because well....people suck. And so I opened my account after a month and matched with this guy. Good conversation back and fourth , talking about meeting up. And I said something to him and he replied normally but when I went to respond just a few minutes ago , the conversation moved to the bottom so I immediately thought I was unmatched. But instead , it says "Deleted member". What could have happened? Genuinely confused. I gave him my number yesterday but I have no idea if he saved it. Or if he can even access the chat still and see my number. Anyone ever have this happen? First time this has ever happened to me.

So I live in the NYC metro area. I’m very much a local. Despite NYC being seen as a liberal shit hole (it is a shit hole), it really feels like the NYers like me are more likely to vote libertarian or just slightly right of center. The people who come in and the college students are the ones that send things hard left. So when I heard this interaction between my neighbor and her husband and their kid I knew exactly what was going on. She’s from here. He’s from Vermont.
He’s in their yard which shares a fence with my yard so I can hear him loud and clear. The sons maybe 2 and a half to 3. He picked up what sounded like a toy laser gun. (Kept hearing pew pew like a kids laser gun). The dad said “why don’t we play with these instead”. I couldn’t see what it was. The kid kinda whined then I heard the laser sounds again.
2 mins later the dads trying to get the kid to play with whatever else again. The kids fussing and getting antsy. The mom comes out and goes “what’s wrong”. The dad says “he shouldn’t just play with guns” to which the mom responds “he’s a fucking toddler, let him play with a cardboard box if he wants, it’s what boys do. He’s not going to want to play with his sisters Disney princess toys”. Then I heard the guy leave after saying something.
Maybe he’s just clueless about how boys and girls differ at that age but at first I jumped to my own conclusion that he was trying to push girl stuff on the kid. He’s VERY liberal. Like Bernie sanders sticker on one side of his car then coexist on the other. No weird colored hair, BUT he does have only one side of his head shaved which seems like something only DJs and SJW types rock. Kinda shitty of me to make assumptions about his motives but the social climate around kids and gender is so weird now.

Yasmin strides confidently onto the runway in a super-elegant Irene Galitzine cream shift dress, with a structured dress collar, built-in pockets, and a subtle black geometric pattern, accessorized with sleek black boots, black gloves, a neat blonde bob, triangular cream glasses, and a simple tiara studded with black diamonds.
“I’m hungry.” Papaya laughs.
Aguacate struts, jade scepter first down the runway. She is covered in a bronze robe, and her face is concealed by a jade mask reminiscent of Pakal the Great. At the end of the runway, she removes the mask, revealing a mug that is beat for the Mayan Gods.
“Ooooh….” Floss eyes light up.
Zazu Nova enters the stage in a fitted bodice adorned with intricate beading and lace in a regal royal blue, a voluminous skirt made of silk, structured with hoops to create a dramatic effect and an oversized collar, made of beads with metallic accents to add the final touch.
Beaded for the GODS.
Fiore Stravaganza struts out in a pearl coloured ballgown, with layer upon layer of white pearls upon her chest, structured around her gown. She has a stark painted face in a clown white, with a huge updo that itself has pearls wrapped around it, with a crown in white to add the final touch.
“A pearl necklace? Gross!” Papaya yells.
Jaslene Bangus has become Cinderella! In a gorgeous blue gown, Jaslene spins around, her dress glittering in the shining light. Her hair is placed up in a shining blonde, with a blue ribbon headpiece wrapped around it as she smiles.

King Omari Star enters the stage as an African King! He’s got a huge bronze cape, with a suit in a shining gold with geometric shapes throughout. Around his neck are various beads and jewels, along with a huge top hat in the same embroidered fashion as his cape as he proudly stomps through the stage.

“Pisces.” Zazu winks.
“You two bring such a fun chemistry, baby.” Floss smiles. “When it’s bad, it can be bad.”
“No more hosting.” Omari smirks.
“But when it’s good, it’s fucking good.” Floss grins. “I loved ya’ll.”

“There was such a level of fun, such a level of entertainment- you were stars on the main stage, and I loved to see it.” Floss grins. “Well done.”

“It feels fantastic.” Yasmin grins. “Also because I am surviving another week.”
Fiore and Jaslene, at the other side of the room, both roll their eyes at the back.
“I feel as if-” Omari purses his lips. “This week, I was challenged, I felt as if at times- I couldn’t do it. But not only did I fight, have fun- but I engaged with my truth with a fantastic partner.”
“Me?” Zazu looks over in surprise.
Omari chuckles. “Yes, you.”
Zazu blushes. “I just wanted to enjoy this. I know I am not- the most mind blowing, the most talented artist but I love to perform. That’s what is in my heart.”
“I think that’s-” Yasmin tears up. “Beautiful. Because all of us here, we’re all fighting something and giving our all. And you’re a survivor, girl.”
Zazu smiles.
“We’re all survivors.” Aguacate wipes a tear and nods. “That’s what makes us powerful.”
Jaslene and Fiore look at each other.
"Well." Fiore purses her lips.
"Well, this has been quite the journey, hasn't it?" Fiore says, breaking the silence between them.

"Well, what?" Jaslene raises an eyebrow.
Fiore takes a deep breath. "Look, Jaslene, I may not have been the easiest person to work with, and I apologize for my behavior. I let my competitiveness and my desire to win cloud my judgment and affect our partnership. I didn't give you the respect and support you deserved."
Jaslene looks surprised and nods. "Thank you for saying that, Fiore. I appreciate it… And I'm sorry too. I let my frustration get the best of me, and I didn't always handle our conflicts in the best way either. We both made mistakes, but it's not too late to make amends."
Fiore's voice cracks slightly as she continues, "I know we don't have the best relationship anymore, and I can't promise that everything will suddenly be perfect between us. But I don't want us to be at each other's throats anymore. We're both here for a reason, and we should focus on supporting each other, rather than tearing each other down… and I have honestly missed our friendship these past few weeks.”
“Me too, girl.” Jaslene nods, also becoming emotional.
“…and I hope we can eventually go back to how we were." Fiore sighs.
Jaslene smiles, extending her hand towards Fiore. "Truce?"
Fiore hesitates for a moment, then reaches out and shakes Jaslene's hand. "Truce." She says with a small smile.

Omari smiles. "Seems like they've finally found some common ground. It's about time."

“The final countdown…” Aguacate sings. “Da do do da… da da dee da da…” Aguacate grabs her drink. “The top 6.”
“It feels fantastic.” Yasmin grins. “Also because I am surviving another week.”
Fiore and Jaslene, at the other side of the room, both roll their eyes at the back.
“I feel as if-” Omari purses his lips. “This week, I was challenged, I felt as if at times- I couldn’t do it. But not only did I fight, have fun- but I engaged with my truth with a fantastic partner.”
“Me?” Zazu looks over in surprise.
Omari chuckles. “Yes, you.”
Zazu blushes. “I just wanted to enjoy this. I know I am not- the most mind blowing, the most talented artist but I love to perform. That’s what is in my heart.”
“I think that’s-” Yasmin tears up. “Beautiful. Because all of us here, we’re all fighting something and giving our all. And you’re a survivor, girl.”
Zazu smiles.
“We’re all survivors.” Aguacate wipes a tear and nods. “That’s what makes us powerful.”
Jaslene and Fiore look at each other.
"Well." Fiore purses her lips.
"Well, this has been quite the journey, hasn't it?" Fiore says, breaking the silence between them.

"Well, what?" Jaslene raises an eyebrow.
Fiore takes a deep breath. "Look, Jaslene, I may not have been the easiest person to work with, and I apologize for my behavior. I let my competitiveness and my desire to win cloud my judgment and affect our partnership. I didn't give you the respect and support you deserved."
Jaslene looks surprised and nods. "Thank you for saying that, Fiore. I appreciate it… And I'm sorry too. I let my frustration get the best of me, and I didn't always handle our conflicts in the best way either. We both made mistakes, but it's not too late to make amends."
Fiore's voice cracks slightly as she continues, "I know we don't have the best relationship anymore, and I can't promise that everything will suddenly be perfect between us. But I don't want us to be at each other's throats anymore. We're both here for a reason, and we should focus on supporting each other, rather than tearing each other down… and I have honestly missed our friendship these past few weeks.”
“Me too, girl.” Jaslene nods, also becoming emotional.
“…and I hope we can eventually go back to how we were." Fiore sighs.
Jaslene smiles, extending her hand towards Fiore. "Truce?"
Fiore hesitates for a moment, then reaches out and shakes Jaslene's hand. "Truce." She says with a small smile.

"Aww, look at them. They're having a moment." Yasmin whispers to the group, as the two walk over to the mirrors.
Omari smiles. "Seems like they've finally found some common ground. It's about time."
Zazu raises her glass. "To growth and second chances. May they slay this lip sync and leave the past behind."

Hi everyone,
I’ve been looking into PhD programs and wondering if anyone can give me guidance on whether or not I have a good chance of getting accepted to MIT’s Operations Research PhD program.
I received a Bachelor of Arts in Economics, Accounting, and Computer Science from the University of Notre Dame and graduated with a 3.7/4.0. I also received my Master of Science in Business Analytics and Finance from Cornell University, and graduated with a 4.15/4.3.
At Cornell, I conducted research on Quant Trading and how to use linear regression to predict stock prices.
I had my first internship as a Data Analyst at Allstate, and since then interned at British Petroleum (bp) as a quantitative trading intern, as well as StoneX Group Inc working with Python as a Solution Analyst intern.
I am only 22, and have not yet held a full time job. I know I will be able to have 3 very strong recommendation letters when I apply.

Here's a very informative post because I'm very serious about finding the right person for me. I've clearly marked and categorized everything, so feel free to skim the parts that interest you the most.

Interests: Many of my interests fall into the "nerd" category. Games (video and tabletop), anime, music, art, sci-fi and fantasy stuff of all varieties. I enjoy a lot of RPG's, and some of my favorite game series include kingdom hearts, fire emblem, dark souls, and a fair few others. I play a lot of league at a fairly high level, but I'm not exactly proud of that because the game damages my sanity at times.

Partner preferences: I'm a big fan of goth/alt girls, as well as tomboys. I also really like short hair, usually between pixie and neck length, and have a sizable interest in women that are taller than me. But these aren't dealbreakers! As long as I find you attractive, everything is fine.
Dealbreakers/Requirements : Similar interests are pretty important for me. I tend to play a lot of games in my free time for entertainment, so having a partner that I can do that together with is my ideal. I do have a strong preference for body type that I unfortunately can't get past, with that preference being the thinner end of the spectrum when it comes to proportions/body fat. Hi Guys, This is a long one so get your popcorn... I (23F) and my boyfriend (23M) have been together for 5 months now. He has been a great partner with the exception of a few spats we've gotten into. He's gentle, kind, and very loving towards me and i am not ashamed to admit that im very in love with him. Though when he is upset with me, he has a very difficult time taking responsibility for his actions/words. Yesterday day we were "netflix party-ing" a show and texting each other with thoughts, since we dont live together, when he suddenly stopped replying. I messaged him asking if we were going to continue watching the show and recieved no answer. I decided that he mustve not noticed his phone go off with the message. It had been 45 mins since the text with no reply so i called. The call goes normally and he informs me that he was, in fact, still watching the show and he didnt see my messages. I jokingly mention how I now have to catch up (something i dont mind at all) and tell him to text me as im about to start doing my night routine. **we always text before we go to bed and send "goodnight" texts whether or not we were on the phone prior** I leave my phone in my room and go take a showedo everything i need to do for the evening. this took me about 30 mins. I return and noticed he had never answered. Concerned, i called again. This time the conversation was anything but normal: he responded very angrily. Im paraphrasing, ofc, but the jist of it was: Me: Hey whats wrong? everything okay? Him: my god you didnt even give me the chance to f***text you back bro give me two f**** minutes yo. youre so f**** annoying. You always do this. You always have to have some sort of F******* issue bro. Me: oh....okay? goodnight i guess? Him: *Hangs up* I texted him and asked him what his problem was to which he responds and immediately deflects and starts saying i am overreacting. He then stops answering completely. The last message sent from me was at about 10:45pm It's important to note something here, I have very severe anxiety and had recently weened off my mediciation (with doctor's supervision). I havent been feeling myself these last couple days, something i believe is the result of getting off the meds. but to make a long story short, i am in a very heightened state of anxiety. My boyfriend not only knows this, but has been helping me through some of my panic attacks. Like anyone else, I have always had my insecurities in our relationship, usually revolving around the fact that im always anxious/annoying and it irritates him. This phone call confirmed it. The messages after the phone call ranged from me asking what was wrong to fully panicking that we were going to break up. This led to a very very severe anxiety attack. Hyperventilating, crying, shaking. I ran into the shower, hoping the warm water would calm me, so i ended up on the floor of my shower, water washing over me, while taking deep breathes. At around 3am i dragged myself to bed and fell asleep. I know to some this may sound like an overreaction, but not being on medication has really made it difficult to control my emotions, specifically my anxiety. I have intense abandonment issues and an anxious attachment style. What he said was literally my worst nightmare coming true. This morning, i recieve a text message from him asking me what had happened last night. Confused, angry, and hurt - i told him what had went on and proceeded to tell him never to speak to me again. He tells me he has no recollection of this conversation and that he only remembers the first phone call. I asked him how that could be so when I recieved 2 text messages from him after the second and last phone call. He doubles down on not remembering. Throughout this entire day, he seems irritated that i can't let this go. He refuses to take any accountability for it, though has said "sorry" to (i believe) just shut me up. I love my boyfriend but his words hurt me very deeply and his lack of care today has only made it 10 times worse. I dont know whats going on or what i should do. Please, any advice would be helpful.

My wife and I started planning our anniversary trip to Hawaii 6 months ago. We bought first class round trip tickets. Our stops were CLT and PHX on the way out.
Day of the trip, our first flight of the day out of of home airport, plane has issues. We had to deplane, AA messages us saying we will miss our connecting flight in Phoenix and need to rebook.
We went to the counter to speak with a gate agent. Long story, we could only book another flight through PHL with an overnight layover in LAX, fly to Kauai the next morning. No first class available on any of the rebooked flights so we had to book main cabin.
The no first class was a bummer since we saved and were looking forward to it. Otherwise, it worked out fine. We stayed in the LAX Westin, had a nice dinner in Marina Del Rey.
We submitted all of this to AA. They immediately reimbursed us for the hotel and meals.
The kicker came when AA notified us of the reimbursement for the ticket price difference. AA only reimbursed $200 per ticket, $400 total.
Does this sound correct? We paid $6,300 total for the first class tickets round trip. Seems like the reimbursement for the price difference for the outbound trip should be significantly more?
Should I call and ask?

I have problems with my supervisor. My first PhD dissertation plan was not well formed, and I need to work on certain aspects to improve it.
I have my supervisor for 1,5 years, and so far she's been incredibly neglectful. When she was assigned my supervisor, I sent her my draft and asked for a Zoom meeting, and she just ignored me. Later, I wrote to her regarding bureaucracy, and she did help a bit at least. She responds only before my evaluations. But she doesn't even attend my evaluations. She should, but she is just "busy".
She didn't point me out the issues of my dissertation formation, and I had to realize my mistakes myself, so I wasted a lot of time. She'd never want to meet live or at least have Zoom calls, the only way she'd respond (if she did) was via email. She'd never give me constructive feedback, may drop one or two authors to read from time to time, but she didn't help me develop my ideas into a certain direction. I was trying to write to her, ask what kind of books could be good to include, I sent her some drafts, but I was either ignored or she wouldn't even say a word about anything I do.
I find it debilitating and disrespectful that she'd send me some call for papers or conferences proposals that had like a few weeks or max month deadline and that were absolutely not related to my topic. Sure, knowing that a certain journal exists is good, but I know I'd never write something related to those topics. It's just so neglectful and disrespectful.
Recently, I asked her how could I construct my PhD dissertation topic (improve it) that I've been working on for a 1 year, and she suddenly dropped that "my topic is bad, and I cannot write it". She didn't even give me proper reasons, saying it is not wide enough. And she suggested to write my first proposal ideas, which were not well formed, and relate it to her research.
She clearly is not interested in my research field and its development. Instead, she just wants to force me to do what she is working on. My topic is slowly progressing more and more away from her fields, so I suspect this could be the reason behind her bizarre shift.
I chose her a supervisor because I didn't have any options - her topics were far away from mine from the beginning. Also, she works in slightly different science field (subfield, basically) than I do. She was given to me as the only option.
I contacted my department regarding the situation about finding second supervisor and hopefully changing this one. But I am worried because the information was leaked. One collegue in my department already told my supervisor that I am not satisfied with her (unofficial... unfortunately rumours spread fast), so I am sure she will get worse and worse in communication. And sadly, most of the supervisors in my institution don't match with my development, so I might be stuck with her, which would be hell.
What can I do to improve this situation?

First post here! I’ve been in Peri menopause since 2020 (I’m 48 now). My symptoms are managed pretty well with the estrogen patch and progesterone at night, but my libido has remained low.

I had a pretty awful first year, I didn't really make friends and I could never bring myself to study or focus well. I failed too many modules to progress straight into Year 2 as a result and now I have to decide how to go about things. I could resit exams for the modules I failed in the summer and hope I pass them all, repeat the year, take leave of absence and return after a year, try to change course or university, or drop out entirely. My course is being suspended after next year, meaning I would have to select a different course if I were to take leave of absence. Halving the speed of the course by taking 60 credits' worth of modules per year has also been mentioned as an option, which to some extent seems appealing as I've almost always been slow with all tasks and have felt like the amount of content in a school/university year is too much for me to properly get through in the time I have, but as far as I know it's really only done when other options have been exhausted and the course suspension issue makes this even more complicated.
I am so dysfunctional at this point that none of the options appear likely enough to work out well to me. I never knew what to apply for while at sixth form, or what to do at all after it, and the application process was really difficult and miserable for me. I was just forced to do something and it did not end up going well. I am in basically the same position now. I've had the same issues with speed and starting tasks for many years, they've mostly been getting worse over time, though I used to be very thorough and perform very well when I did get things done. The isolation here has only exacerbated everything. I registered myself for counselling very recently, as well as talking to my GP about my issues and asking to be assessed for ADHD, but I have no way of knowing whether those things would help me enough to change outcomes significantly if I were to return to university and I obviously can't access them in time to talk about this decision. I don't know if they would be useful for this anyway, I feel I need to talk to someone in a less formal setting, especially somebody close to me, but I have nobody. I haven't been able to be open with my parents about almost anything for years, they don't understand me or my problems whatsoever and because of this they tend to do more harm than good. They see my struggle to do well as a sudden change that must have been triggered by some kind of trauma or something, when that's not the case at all, they blame my problems on me being trans as well, and they seem to have a negative view of the idea that issues like this could be not purely a matter of choice and to sort of push for a bootstraps/"lifestyle change" approach that I don't think is realistic for me at the moment. They think I should try to retake my exams this summer. I worry that doing so would mean having no break and being under non-stop stress for a while and that this could make things worse for me if I were to be back at university in September. They, of course, believe I should be able to just get it together and make that work. Given their views, I don't think they would react positively to the counselling and diagnosis etc. things I mentioned and I therefore don't think I can explain to them how repeating the year has any chance of being different this time or how getting prepared for the supplementary exams and the academic year after them might not be as doable as they believe.
Because of the complete lack of close relationships and people who care about and support me in my life I find myself unable to make any choice. They all seem like they will likely be costly and unfixable mistakes. As long as I'm alone I don't see myself doing well anywhere, and then when whatever I do goes wrong I won't have anyone to reach out to. I wish I could be confident that I could be completely independent and that I didn't have to worry about and fear my parents. It’s kinda a long story. A year ago I(f29) was trapped working ona job I hated, but the good thing about it were my two coworkers, who were good and funny the majority of the time, so we hung out fine. One of my coworkers, let’s call her J(f48) was someone interesting, she is very religious and very attached to her brother's family, in my resume, she is a good person, and I liked working with her. So, why do I wanna cut ties with her? It happened last year, I made a terrible huge mistake. J needed money, a good amount, and she asked me if I could lend it for a small amount of time. J uses to buy clothes and then resell it, she has done this for years, and all the time I saw people buy from her, so I saw her a a responsible working person, and the money was on part to buy clothes and resell, so I thought I knew what she was doing, so I lended her the money. Oh god, I really hate myself for doing it. After I did it, J started to show her true colors about her and money. First, I discovered she was having problems getting the clothes, it was something that sometimes happens, but I didn’t know. Second, J was not as good with money as she made me believe, sometimes shee ran out of money, and the was a month the bank call us like three or four times a day just to consult J when she was planning to pay a debt she had with the bank for a loan she ask the bank (my anxiety was going crazy on every call). The worst part about me is that I could pass all of this about J, because I considered her a friend, but the day I couldn’t justify her any longer was when her birthday approached and she invited me first to a simple dinner friday night on a venezuelan restaurant from a friend of hers and my other coworker, and since it was a simple plan I was ok with it. But suddenly, she changed her mind about it, and she wanted to go to an expensive restaurant where each one of us had to pay too much. Our other coworker declined immediately, because it was too much money and his wife was also invited, so if they went they would have to pay double. I wasn’t sure about it, I had the money, but I didn’t want to spend it there. But my decision was clearer when at lunch hour J got a video call for her sister in law. At that time my other coworker was away doing another job, but a cleaning lady and I were there. At first the talk was polite, until it started to get gradually worse when SIL asked her “isn’t too much money going to this place?” so J answered a couple of things I don’t think were right.
First, she said she also invited her friends from a gym he was going, and she though the venezuelan place was not appropriate to go (you know, her friend’s place, and also, my other coworker was from Venezuela), she also said to her SIL “everyone has that money to spend, I will pay you guys your fee if there is a problem” and that’s the bragging again, and the worst for me was when she added “Well, I’m also doing this like a test, to see who is actually is there for me.” Hearing her have that comment was enough for me to break the glass about who she really was. But it was not my time to talk, SIL and her had an argument about how fake J was, how she was doing this to show herself as someone she is not, and that her gym friends were not real, and more comments. J ended up crying and ended the phone call, later our other coworker came to J crying, so it was definitely not my time to ask for my money back. But from that moment I learned my lesson, you don’t lend money to people, because you can’t trust them to pay you back. Of course, I wanted to shout to J about her bad attitude towards me, but as my mother taught me, you don’t fight for money, fighting for money is useless, because people would always get defensive, claiming being the victim. Instead of making an argument, I started to being more firm With J about payments, remembered every month about how much she owned me, and I respected her petition about talk this always in private (I used to asked in public, since she didn’t have shame in tell everybody she spends on her family and her stuff). After a year, half of her debt was paid, luckily for me, we both were now on a different job. I finally started to work at a place that goes more to accord to my university studies, while J finally took her chance to open a small store to sell clothes, since then she has a lot of stuff and I needed new outfits for my work, we agree J would pay me the rest of her debt with clothes she was selling, and I went one day and I got what I wanted over a year, no more money attachments to J. Yet something funny was happening while I was trying some pants, she asked me how I was doing, a simple meaningless chat, I mentioned her I also joined a gym, because it was something she recommended me to do las year (but at that time I was so sad to even think about exercise), the moment I told her she started to ask me at what gym I was going, how much I was paying, and how I was paying, I have a credit card, and she started to talk about how she is about how her gym membership is about to expire and she doesn’t have a credit card to sign for a new one, and it’s very important for her to keep going to the gym due to her health, the way she said this to me was clear enough to understand she wanted me to offer her to pay her new gym membership, like, are you crazy or I just look like a fool? Of course, I played stupid and pretended I didn’t get her indirect message, and proceed to leave when the clothes exchange was made, but not before J telling me “Let me know if the gym doesn’t work for you and I’ll buy you your membership” I simple left in my more polite way possible, but that’s it for me, I don’t want to keep this relationship with J any longer, I was a fool yet a good friend and lend her money once and she repaid me by dismissing her debt to me, but this is over, I’m not gonna take this any longer. My therapist said I needed to confront J about how I feel, because I could lose her friendship, but the thing is, I don’t care anymore, if J only sees me as a bank account, then maybe it’s better to end our friendship and leave with the happy memories. She messaged me two times already asking me about how I’m doing in the gym and if I’m planning on quitting. An let me get something clear, even if I decided to quit the gym I’m not giving her my membership, she will never pay me if I do, you have to pay every month and she already showed me how she doesn’t care about follow a deathline (she is very religious, and she likes to say stuff like “God will provide”, and like, no, God didn’t provide, I provide for you). The only thing actually makes me sad about this decision is the fact that by cutting out J I’m gonna lose my friendship with our other coworker, who is very important to me, he is a excellent person and never did anything remotely bad to me, but he is friends with J since way more time, and the have much in common, so I gonna miss him so much.

Hi All. I understand you'll get quite a lot of posts with the following information but I'd really appreciate it if anyone could respond.
My wife and I are first time buyers with an offer accepted on a 3 bed semi in NW England. It was listed at £230k (which I believe was inflated) but we got accepted with £215k and putting down a 10% deposit. Survey is yet to be completed so value could change. It is in a good area with no developments in the area on the horizon. We also would have no intention of moving in the short term, certainly not within the next 10 years.
Even with this in mind, I'm still worried that when our 3-year fixed term would come to an end interest rates might still be high and the value of our home might be less than what we would owe, putting us in negative equity. This is still with overpayments factored in. I'm not sure what the consensus is in this subreddit but there's talks that the value of houses nationwide could drop significantly in the next 3 years (some believe as bad as 30%).
In case we're not able to remortgage onto a fixed-rate, I've stress tested after the 3 years of an SVR at 10% along with prices of other things rising around 10% also. There would be no holidays but we'd be fine. I've also tested what I would call an "armageddon" scenario of an SVR at 17% (highest ever rate in 1979). Things would be very tight, but we'd still make payments.
Our saving grace is that we're both young and in secure government jobs, I work for the Prison Service and she is a teacher.
I suppose my question is in our situation, would it make more sense to sit and wait until there is a better understanding of the current market? Any suggestions or takes on what is happening in the market are welcome.
