So my husband and myself went for our weekly relaxing dinner and drinks at this restaurant on the beach. We really love this place, the staff, the food, and the staff likes us a lot. My fellow foreigners looked at me as if I was the devil incarnate as if to say “how dare you talk to poor doggo woggo like that you evil b**ch!!” Luckily my husband mean mugged them back and they didn’t say anything. Mostly venting because I texted my friends back in my birth country about it and one said “Blame the owner” and another said that it was disgusting and surprised I didn’t do something and then asked what’s up with white people and dog obsession? They’re not nutters by any means btw. Like how about I bring my parrots and let them scream and crap everywhere? How about I go pee on the nutter’s table and sniff their food and crotches? Oh, and the people that mean mugged me also had a beast WITH a wagon, a dog bed, and toys. At least it was well behaved but still, leave it at home! Not to mention that they were parked right next to the live music. Another note, so many foreigners brag about “rescuing” dogs here and shipping them to the US and Canada. They spend thousands and thousands of dollars on these worthless street nuts but don’t help some of the locals living in literal squalor. People will post about needing a blood donor for a surgery and no one respond but god forbid there’s a street dog someone posts about and people come out of the woodwork to “help”. Completely insane. Half of my family is in Japan, so I have gone several times growing up but typically seeing family in Kyushu. I’ll try to keep it short.
My(28f) mom(48f) has a history of selfish decisions but I feel like this is one of the bigger issues in my opinion.
Her and her husband (we’ll call him Rick) are actively getting ready to move to Hawaii. None of us (her kids, family etc) think it’s a good idea. And Rick is a self centered jerk who thinks he’s better than everyone and can see him going over there and looking down on others there and it just not going over very well.
Now to the big issue.
They just put their house on the market. And I found out they purposely didn’t disclose any of the issues with their house. Everyone was told to mind their own busines, it’s their house and they’ll “do whatever they want”.
I think that’s severely messed up. There’s many “smaller” issues like the connected garage’s foundation is cracked all the way through, electrical problems/plugs that randomly overheat(?)/turn off, plumbing issues/leaky pipes. But the kicker is there is black mold all through the outer walls of both bedrooms and all through the floor in the kitchen. There are spots in the kitchen where if you step a certain way your foot will squish through what’s supposed to be a linoleum floor.
I know how toxic black mold is and I’ve heard about how ridiculously hard and expensive it is to get rid of it and how damaging it is to the property.
Well my mom and Rick are aware that if it’s known that they have black mold it’ll drastically lower the price they’ll get for the house and a bank may not even finance a loan for whoever would want to buy it, or they’ll have to pay out of pocket to fix it themselves before relisting the house.
As I said they work minimum wage and have no savings so they can’t afford to get rid of the mold, so they plan to clean up the walls in the bedrooms so that you can’t see the mold and pray to god the inspector doesn’t find the mold in the kitchen floor, and scam whoever is buying the house into buying a toxic black mold infested house.
I think that’s severely messed up and I know it’s not really my business but this just adds to the many problems I have with that mother of mine and I really want to call the realtor in charge of their listing and tell them about the problems in that house. I want to make sure she can’t take advantage of some poor person trying to buy her toxic house.

The tl;dr version is that my husband started working with a psychoanalyst online two months ago and all the normal channels for verifying their license seem to indicate that they are practicing therapy without a license. My husband seems to have also been told by his analyst that psychoanalysts do not need a license to practice therapy in the U.S. if they were trained in another country. I feel that this is very likely erroneous. My main question is, is it ever legal for someone advertising themselves as a therapist and psychoanalyst to set up a private practice without a license in the U.S.?
The longer version is: My husband found his analyst through a Google search two months ago, and reached out to them. All of his sessions with them are online, via Zoom. The therapist is in a different state from us. They charge him $300/week, and meet with him three times a week.
I started noticing some changes in his personality a few weeks ago- not good or bad necessarily, just a change in his priorities and interests- and got curious about the person he is working with.
The therapist has a website, which is how my husband found them, but there is no education credentials or licensing information listed on it, just a nebulous statement of purpose and a gmail address They have no other professional presence online beyond their website. (Where they are mentioned elsewhere online, it appears to be as the lead singer of a band). They are also not listed in the databases of their state or our state as a licensed therapist. I reached out to their state's board for licensing, and they have no record of this person as a mental health practitioner. I haven't received a response from the board in our state yet. Just to clarify, on the therapist's website, they refer to themselves specifically as a psychoanalyst and a therapist. They also state on their website that they treat patients anywhere in the world. This, too, is a bit of a red flag for me. I know from working with therapists myself how tedious licensing for telehealth can be, and it seems unlikely that this therapist is licensed in every state, especially as they are not licensed in the state they live in. They've also only been practicing, by their own account, for two years.
I brought all this up to my husband, as I believe- from what I understand- that it is illegal to practice as a therapist in the United States without a license. He does not want to ask his analyst about their background, as he feels it would be rude (I disagreed, but didn't push it), wants to keep working with them, and he isn't bothered by the possibility that they may be practicing without a license. This is when he mentioned that his psychoanalyst told him that analysts trained outside the U.S. do not have to be licensed, and that they can start practicing with patients whenever they "feel" ready. Again, I'm pretty sure this is erroneous. From what I've read, psychoanalysts have to be licensed as psychotherapists to practice in the U.S., whether they were trained abroad or not.

I (50F) married my husband (59M) 15 years ago. I'm highly-educated, make good money, have zero debts except for a 2nd house that's almost paid off, and no children. When I married him, I told him that I wanted to travel with an exciting lover and work at an interesting job. Those were my dreams. She never acknowledges me lecturing her. All she does is half-smiles, says she's sorry and nods throughout the conversation. Anyways, after that family function, my husband made her sit down and tell us what's wrong.
At first, she said she was just tired, and I told her: "That's not an excuse to act like that all day." but my husband told her he wasn't letting it go until she told us what was actually wrong. And, lo and behold, she blames it all on me. It's like, everything's my fault.
She said: "It's just, sometimes, you're so mean." and the only mean things I ever say are when I'm angry at her, and I cannot control that! She goes and tells my husband that she "feels uncomfortable" whenever I make fun of her. But it's literally just poking fun.
My son is the best. He's affectionate and doesn't give me an attitude. He tells me loves me and he doesn't mope around the house. He's leaving for college soon, it sucks, now I have to deal with my daughter. In her eyes, I'm always the bad guy and now she's turning my own fucking husband on me.

I am a remote working mom of an 20 month old. My husband works remotely too, but travels a lot also as part of his job. I will say his job is rather stressful.

While trying to converse about this matter, I made the grave mistake of saying something along the lines of, "I watch how my friends' husbands/BFs are so affectionate and I wish we had that". He began sulking for the next couple of hours, and then got mad at me for apparently comparing him to my friends' partners. I didn't mean to compare him, but I understand that that is what I was ended up doing and my words made him feel that way, so I kept apologizing. We talked it out (which...involved me consoling him mostly for making him feel bad, we didn't really talk about my original issue), and at the end he said, "You do not get to control me, and if you try to, then I will walk away from this marriage." Sidenote, I really never wanted to control him...I was just trying to communicate to him that I wanted more affection.
Another time, I wanted to talk to him about how my desires often fall to the wayside of his own, and how it has been leading to a lot of resentment for me. These "desires" are small ones, like he will promise to take me to a museum I've been wanting to go to, but the day of, he will say he's too tired and would rather relax the day of instead. Normally I don't mind, but like, can we just do something I want to do once in a while? I tried to open up a conversation about it, and this lead to him sulking for the next couple of hours, being quiet, ignoring me, etc. At the end of that night, he said that I "always make him feel bad" and that if I keep doing this, "he won't be able to stay in the marriage with me." So once again, I approached him about something that was bothering me, and it ended up with me trying to console him.
Another time, he compared me to a woman he knows (in terms of physical looks), and I cried a lot and expressed how awful that made me feel about my looks, and how it made me feel inadequate. He apologized, but it's hard to get over those things. And when I didn't go back to my happy self soon after, he began sulking again, I ended up apologizing to HIM for making him feel like the bad guy. At the end of that discussion, he also said he would divorce me.
As a sidenote, when I confront him about what is bothering me, I NEVER call him names. I never raise my voice. I never insult him. I always use, "I feel" statements. I try to communicate and open up a dialog, but it oftentimes turns into what I call an "argument" because he begins sulking and giving me the silent treatment whenever I try to state my needs. I don't know what to do. Maybe I am doing something wrong and making him feel cornered. Is this normal?

I am trying to move from LA to New York and I’m having a lot of trouble. How can I find an apartment and a job if I’m not physically there in person? I’ve never done this before, so I don’t know where to start. My husband is a CNA so it might be a bit easier for him to find a job than me. I don’t know how I’m supposed to get an apartment if we don’t have any jobs to pay the rent. We’ll never be approved by any apartment complex. What do I do???? We have the money to move to New York now we just don’t have any jobs and can’t find an apartment that will approve us without having the income

I swear I’m not one of those people who can’t understand a perspective different from their own, but being Team Michael is something I really can’t fathom.
For almost every show I watch, I can understand why someone would like my least favourite character… except for Michael.
Sure he became a good husband and stepfather to Mateo after he married Jane, but he was unbelievably toxic before that.
He was supremely corrupt as a cop, extremely jealous, controlling and obsessive. I honestly thought he was a sociopath in my first watch. He was obsessed with Jane. He kept lingering around waiting for her to dump Rafael and kept involving himself in their lives.
Let’s not even discuss how many times he did something illegal as a cop to protect himself. Or when he attacked Rafael. Or when he told Jane to give up the baby. Or when he teamed up with Petra.
Am I the only one who thought he was beyond irredeemable?
Side note: I love Brett (the actor) and I think he’s absolutely awesome!

Backstory:
My husband recently had our second child (now 7 months, the other is 2). I went back to work a month ago and my husband works very long hours so things have been quite tough (and to be honest quite lonely) for me. We have decided to move closer to my husband's work so he can be around more to help out.
Problem:
Unfortunately the move means we have to leave our current daycare that we absolutely LOVE and find a new one. Finding places is very tough in the new town. Luckily we found them a place in one (daycare 1) and signed them up. However, ever since I have been having such anxiety about their new daycare 1 - it's all I can think about and makes me very emotional. There is nothing wrong with the new daycare, it just seems a bit corporate compared to our family style daycare and we toured it over lunch while all the children were asleep and didn't get a good sense of it. I communicated by anxiety to them and asked if I could meet the teachers or talk to someone and they were polite but kind of brushed me off (or maybe didn't understand me properly as there is a language barrier) and said I would meet the teachers on the first day at the introductory meeting. I also talked to some parents who had children there who were generally positive about it, but not effusive.
Yesterday I toured daycare 2 in the new town that I absolutely LOVED, and although they initially said they don't have space, now they say they may be able to squeeze us in. I was there for an hour and a half chatting to the owner in the morning with the children running around. There are so many things about it that remind me of our current amazing daycare, and there is a garden.
However, as we already signed a contract with daycare 2 we will owe them two months fees for two children, which is an anxiety inducing amount and there is no way to get around it. We could eat the cost, but our savings which we worked very hard to build up would certainly take a hit. Another option is to go to daycare 1 for two months, then transfer to daycare 2 but I hate the idea of moving the children to a new daycare twice in two months as I think it would really unsettle them on top of the move. Or we stick with daycare 1 and try it out, but it will be a year before there are new spaces at daycare 2 again.
Question:
Is there anyone who has been through anything similar before who could share their experiences? Are there any options I am missing? I really blame myself for signing the contract with daycare 1 in the first place - my youngest child was going through a month long sleep regression and I think I was just too exhausted to think it through properly.

Looking for advise from dog owning moms
Short version: While on an evening stroll with my 6 week old daughter in her stroller and my dog, Charlie (20 lb doodle mix) on leash at a neighborhood park an unleashed dog, Max (about 80-100lb English cream golden retriever) ran towards us and attacked my dog (teeth showing). My dog screamed in fear and wrapped around me and the Max went after him and pushed the stroller out a couple feet. My daughter was sleeping and woke up startled and crying. Maxs owner stayed at a distance watching and refused to leash the dog after the incident. When confronted, he turned verbally abusive. I walked away consoling my crying infant and not wanting to aggravate the situation. Looking for advise on how to deal with this situation and also if this repeats in the future. Both dogs are regulars at this park.
Long version: a bit back story… My dog Charlie is trained and listens to commands pretty well, he gets along with all people and dogs except for this one, Max. We let him off the leash at this park when no one is around but is always on leash when people/kids are around. There’s a walking path encompassing the park and kids play area where we usually walk. The park has clear signs around that the dogs need to always be on leash. Charlie and the aggressive dog Max have met before and for some reason they did not get along, Max has always been aggressive and scared Charlie. We usually walk away when Max comes to this park since Max has attacked Charlie on 3 different occasions, but this was before my daughter was born. So it was easier to just pick up 20lb Charlie to safety and diffuse the situation. On this particular day, we were walking our usual path when Max jumped us and attacked Charlie. Charlie was leased and went in between and around my legs to avoid Max. Max being super big (anywhere between 80-100lb) pushed the stroller with my child in it. Luckily the stroller being sturdy didn’t topple over but rather slipped out of my hand and landed a couple feet away from me onto the grass area.my daughter screamed, started crying and after seeing me scream max ran away. It terrified me, my daughter could have been seriously injured in this! Through all this, Max’s owner was at a distance just watching. No recall or if he did it was not effective. So after the whole incident, my husband went to talk to the owner to get him to leash the dog so this doesn’t happen again. The owner turned hostile and refused to do so. When my husband mentioned that these were the park rules and he could report him, he started verbally abusing us and asked us to f*** off and do whatever we wanted. I was consoling my crying daughter and just asked him to show basic courtesy, he just turned away. There were a bunch of kids on the play area and other moms around, just watching. I didn’t want to aggravate the situation and asked my husband (who took a video of the man and unleashed dog) to walk away and not do anything right then since my daughter was #1 priority then.
I am sure if and when we cross paths with Max again, this will repeat. Both dogs are regulars at this park but we’ve always kept our distance. I am sure the dog Max is a good dog because we’ve seen him do some tricks, but I blame the owner for not doing enough to train/control him and turning bitter after.
I am looking for any advise on how to deal with this situation as well as a scenario when this happens again. The man seems mean enough to hurt others, or maybe that’s just my protective instinct talking. I don’t want to hurt Max but this incident should never happen to me or anyone else walking in that park.

Middle of the night I receive a call from my “mom” and she’s crying. Now my mom is often hysterical on the phone but doesn’t usually call so late so I start asking what’s wrong. A few sobs in and a man gets on the phone saying he’s going to kill her if I don’t help him out. He keeps telling me not to call the cops. I look at my phone and check that it does say “Mom” on my caller ID. I can still hear her in the background crying and he’s asking for help. Finally he says he needs Venmo, PayPal or Cashapp and I say I have $10 on cashapp. He tells me to load a card to it… waits a few seconds and hangs up.
I’m shook up and call my moms husband who tells me she’s laying in bed next to him. She hops on the phone and is obviously totally fine. I get off the phone and check the number again, it had come from my mom. This was the closest I’ve ever been to being scammed and more than that it scared the crap out of me.
Is there anyone to even report this to? My mom wanted me to call the cops but what do I even say since the number was my moms.

I live in a Tier 2 city . My locality is mostly inhabited my officers of a certain company. Locality also has a slum right behind the outhouse .It is mostly inhabited by househelps and other working class people. Today I saw my cousin after 7 years living in the slum .
Little background: She used to stay in the same locality as us, her parents were upper middle class people. She was beautiful and well educated. She had done her masters in English. She was engaged to US based engineer, things were going fine but one day she eloped with a Muslim guy. The guy used to live in the same slum, they fell in love.She was engaged then , the guy was a smooth talker. My sister got brainwashed, she was blinded . She was aware of the social status too.She was completely blinded by love. No reasoning or logic worked in her case. She said no guy would her as much as her lover. She eloped with the boy.
On confronting and involving the police,she said she would not go back to her parents. She Threw her diamond ring in the drain and left the locality. This was not just a inter - religious marriage it was an inter- status marriage. The guy was a fruit hawker ( thela ) . Her parents kept on calling her to change her mind but she was adamant about love .She later got converted , had a nikaah and they left the neighborhood. Father cut all the ties with her. Currently No one is in touch. Parents also left the locality out of embarrassment,the other two sisters are settled abroad.
After spotting her , we enquired about her whereabouts . My househelp informed us that she( cousin) is the only earning member now . Husband hits her , she hates her parents,doesn't want to hear about them. She gives tutions in the slum and runs the house. She cannot go out to earn as her husband suspects her . She has gone deep into depression . We called her mother ( my bua) and told her about her daughter. Her mother was begging that we help her get a job . She was crying profusely and said her daughter is a complete emotional fool. My cousin gets triggered if she hears about her mother or father.
All this has disturbed me . I can't imagine someone who lived such a privileged life , looking after an ailing husband , earning for the family including in-laws yet not allowed to step out of home.
Girls, please think about the consequences before falling in love. Not just religion but there should be a basic status Quo..

Okay I know this is going to sound dramatic BUT bear with me.. I just got off birth control a couple months ago after being on it for almost 10 years. I had my first period at the beginning of this month and it was not fun. I had really bad cramps and a heavy flow and I really had to lay low for awhile. My next period is scheduled to fall on 4th of July weekend and I’m supposed to go to the lake with my in laws. This means being out on the boat for hours on end without a proper bathroom and sharing a bathroom at the cabin with 5 boys. (My husband & brother in laws). Also not looking forward to swimming in the lake with it.. I kind of don’t even want to go which I realize may make me sound crazy. Any advice? I’m not really into the menstrual cups.

I am at my breaking point my husband doesn’t compliment me, barely have intercourse, no random kisses and cuddling. I don’t know what to do anymore I’m tired of telling him my love language over and over. I meet him in the middle every time but it’s not reciprocated to me. I’m so frustrated any advice we’ve been together for a total of 4 years and nothing is changing. What should I do?
