2023.06.08 08:39 ClassicHold6435 Model 3 vs Prius cost to fill up.
I'm debating about a model 3 base and a prius xle. I'll get both at sticker price. The prius is 32k msrp and the model 3 i around 42k msrp. I ran the math. I need to switch my electricity to time of use with the model 3 making my electric bill cost more to run my home stuff and even then it will cost me 28 cent per kwh to 48 cent a kwh depending on when i charge. 48 cent a kwh will hit me hard when i run my ac in the summer during the day. I live in CA. Costco gas is currently 4.45 per gallon. The model 3 gets around 3 mile per kwh and the prius gets 57 mpg. The prius would cost me 7 cent per mile but the tesla would cost me 9 cent per mile. If gas was 5.50 per gallon it would be the same as charging at home for 28 per kwh. If i had to charge it during the day it would be 48 cent per kwh and gas would need to be 9.50 dollar per gallon to break even with the tesla. How is going electric saving money? The car cost 10k more and the fill up cost more as well. As for maintains oil change are like 85 dollars at the stealership so its whatever.

2023.06.08 06:58 Salty-unicorn Don't waste your money- Lodges.
First, I want to say I love Yellowstone. I visit every few years, and it is always magical. Every single employee we encountered was lovely- you all work hard, and I am very aware that you have no say in how things go down.
This year we decided to stay in different locations in the park so we could have more time- normally we stay in West Yellowstone and drive in/out daily. We opted to stay 1 night each in multiple locations to really stretch our time.
1st night- Roosevelt rough rider cabin. The beds were comfy, the towels fluffy, the dinner was delicious, and the coffee with a view can't be beat. We will 100000% be staying here again. It was also the only place I would say was worth the price.
2nd night- Canyons lodge. The room was clean and lovely, but that is where it ends. There were no dining options beyond the cafeteria style, and it was not great. We ended up going to the gas station for some grab and go snacks. There was no regular coffee available either- just a coffee bar machine that couldn't make a drip coffee, only lattes and such. We ended up at the gas station again for coffee. This place was not worth the crazy price we paid for 1 night. I would have expected complimentary coffee in the lodge for that price.
3rd night- Grant Lodge. The bathroom was moldy, and the only food option without a reservation was a taco place. Normally I love tacos, but these weren't great. Again, we had to go to the gas station for snacks, and for coffee in the morning.
4th night- Snow lodge. The rooms were lovely, the bathroom was clean, but jesus the dining room was slow. We were told an hour wait, and waited almost 2. When we finally were sat it still took another 20 mins for our order to be taken, and even longer for food to come out. The food was really delicious, it was just painfully slow. When I went to prep the in-room coffee for the morning, I found a previous guests coffee grounds in the pot, so... that was gross. Again, with the price we paid it was not worth it.
Any future trips we will stay in west yellowstone or the Roosevelt cabins. No where else wad even close to worth the cost.

2023.06.08 06:50 LittleHooman Is it worth paying higher rent for a better quality of life?
My current lease is ending soon so I’m starting to look for new apartments to live. I’m currently looking at one place that would be around $1650 a month ($1359 base $135 parking + $55 water and trash + $55 wifi + ~$50 electricity), which is about $250 less than what I’m paying currently (rent prices are getting crazy).
My gross monthly income is $6250 so according to the 30% rule, this still falls under my rent budget. I also have no student loans or any current debt, and my car is also completely paid off (just need to worry about gas). I would consider myself to be wise with my money — I rarely eat out unless I’m with friends, always make coffee at home haha, I don’t blow my paychecks, and I’m not a very impulsive spender. Some people I’ve spoken to have suggested selling my car, but unfortunately I don’t live in a walkable city so that isn’t an option for me :(
I love this apartment — huge east-facing windows, useful amenities, secured building and parking, safe, and a relatively quick walk to work and parks. I just feel a bit … stuck and a bit guilty? I would love to save as much as I can on living expenses (especially because I spent a bit more than I would have liked on rent this past year), but quality of living is also huge for me (I can be a bit of a homebody). I’m the type of person who likes to think about the future in the sense where I’d like to struggle a little more right now to get to where I want to be quicker, if that makes sense?
I am looking at another apartment that is $1200 a month. If I went with this option, I’d be saying $5,360 on rent throughout the entire 12-month lease period. This apartment is nice too, however, it lacks the security and safety (and sunlight) that the above option has.
Some things that might be worth noting is that I might be starting a small side hustle to generate some extra income, and I may also be getting a salary increase at the end of this year or beginning of next year. My long-term plan is to move back in with my parents at the end of summer 2024 for a few years to save some money. Ideally, I’d be doing that right now but I’m still waiting for my company to approve me to work remotely! So in terms of that, would it be okay with spending more than I’d like on rent because I’ll be moving back home next year anyway?
If you’ve ever been in this situation or have any input, I’d love to hear any thoughts. I am also 23 if that makes any difference at all. Thanks so much in advance for any advice!

I do travel for work on occasion which are put on my personal cards and then expensed so would love to put those expenses towards my own travel.
* If you answered "travel rewards", do you have a preferred airline and/or hotel chain?: Airline varies depending on price. Delta, Southwest, United recently. Marriott is usually my hotel chain but again I am open to anything with a good price.
* Do you have any cards you've been looking at? Been trying to decide between Chase Sapphire Preferred (1.25 points is nice) and the Capital One Venture (TSA pre-check/Global Entry coverage is very attractive to me). Again, these are the two I'm really looking at but open to other suggestions that may be a better fit with good travel rewards or other types of rewards if that might fit my profile better.

2023.06.08 04:48 Mission_Emergency_36 I am 32 years old, a full time RN-BSN student, live in Texas, and currently make ~$535 monthly.
BACKGROUND Long story short I spent 8 years on the West Coast holding increasingly important positions in the energy industry, but I hated it with every fiber of my being. I started taking nursing prerequisite courses in January of 2020. Family trauma happened. I moved home to Texas to be closer to my family, quit my job (was making ~$130k with bonus), and took the plunge and went to back to school for nursing at 31. I am half way done with an accelerated BSN program and I have a 4.0 GPA. I love it so much despite it being very difficult. I have externship currently and I have an ICU internship lined up for my final semester, which is basically a guaranteed new grad job.
I currently live with my mom and brother. We are remodeling our house so we are in an apartment for a bit. Very tight quarters but thankful to be with them. Boyfriend just successfully made a big career move and is now a superintendent for an important and well respected organization in town making $60k annually with a 8% bonus. Very proud of him and very excited for our future - we are talking about getting engaged in the next year. He is getting an apartment in the next couple months after living at home with his family due to some major family health issues he has been helping out with so you will see some of the apartment search start to happen in this diary!
Currently boyfriend and I split going out expenses pretty much down the line, but with this new job we had a discussion last week about how he will pay for the majority of our going out costs moving forward once he gets his first paycheck this month until I start working full time again in January!
Previous money diary from August 2022 here. ASSETS (comparing last money diary to now):
| August 2022 | June 2023 | Difference |
401k | $156,400 | $158,600 | $2,200 |
Roth IRA | $68,000 | $68,500 | (500) |
Saving's account | $41,001.43 | $26,572.63 | ($14,428.81) |
Checking Account | $3,024.58 | $915.41 | ($2,109) |
HSA | $8,800 | $7,100 | ($1,700) |
Brokerage | $440 | $444 | $4 |
UGMA | $85,000 | $84,000 | ($1,000) |
Pension | forgot to include | $27,000 | N/A |
NET WORTH: $373k **I don’t carry any credit card debt / no student loan debt / no equity in any kind of home. I was lucky enough to be in a position where I saved up over $40k cash to pay for living expenses when in school. My UGMA account will be used as part of a down payment for a house in the next couple years. My current BSN degree is being covered through family. Also, trying to figure out what to do with my pension - depending how finances go the next 8 months I am in school / if I have any emergencies (I have 2 senior pets) I could cash part of it out or completely roll it over into an IRA.
INCOME Income Progression: I worked in the energy industry for 8 years; my starting salary was $35,000.
I worked in the Seattle area starting out at $35k in 2014. Moved to a new job in 2016 for $65k and then another new job in 2018 for $85k +12% bonus. Got up to $104k + 20% bonus before I quit. Also worked as a CNA on the weekends for about 6 months for $15 an hour during COVID to make sure I really wanted to go to nursing school.
Main Job Monthly Take Home: It varies but the average so far this year it is $535. I have an incredibly flexible externship at a hospital very close to where I live where my director literally just lets me show up whenever I want to work. I make $17 an hour. I met a couple incredible mentors but I think I am going to quit soon since it just won’t be feasible to work this semester and I already have my ICU internship lined up for September. Trying to be easier on myself and put myself first and I feel very lucky that I don’t need to work. Don’t get me wrong the extra money is SO NICE but I want to concentrate on school, myself, family, partner, and friends. Work on top of an accelerated nursing program is too much. I am actually the only one working in my cohort currently.
Any Other Monthly Income Here: I live with my mom right now and she pays for most of the groceries, utilities, etc. I feel incredibly privileged and lucky that I can live with her and that she is able to support me in this way while I transition careers. I do lots for her to support her such as chores, errands, paying for big Costco runs, etc. My boyfriend also helps out with pet expenses and other things I want / need.
MONTHLY EXPENSES - Rent: $400 to my mom for a very discounted rate at our current apartment. I don’t pay rent when we are at the house. I will not be paying rent when I semi-move in with my boyfriend in the next couple months. Our goal is to get our own luxury apartment next year close to both of our places of employment after a year lease at a cheaper place. Between now and then I’ll split my time with him and my mom.
- Cellphone: $15 (on family plan & I just pay for additional data)
- Spotify: $5.40 (student plan)
- iCloud: $2.99
- Prime: $8.11
- Gym membership: $20
- Regular therapy: $5 a session and I go biweekly
- Health insurance: $122.54 monthly
- Costco: $60 annually
I allocate the following to my biggest expense categories monthly:
- Gas: $120
- Groceries: $300
- Eating out: $400
- Pet expenses: $200
- Other discretionary spending: $400
WEDNESDAY - DAY 1 8:45: I slept 10 hours last night and it was glorious. I worked a 12 hour shift at the hospital yesterday and our patient acuity was very high.
9:30: Make a coffee and walk and feed my pup. I walk over to the pool for a morning swim. I love a quiet morning swim so much.
11:30: I had a nice 500 yd swim, drank a Premier Protein shake & ate overnight oats with blueberries for breakfast, had a relaxing shower, and started some laundry. Feeling anxious about everything I have on my plate currently. Also I feel hungover from work yesterday. I was going to work another 12 hour shift tomorrow but now I don’t know if I can handle it with school also starting on Friday and a very busy social weekend coming up. Luckily, my director literally lets me show up whenever I want so I may do 7 or 8 hours tomorrow instead of a full 12. Try to table my feelings to discuss in therapy this afternoon.
11:40: Sit down to finish some online orientation for my internship that is coming up my final semester.
13:03: Orientation stuff only took about 20 minutes thank god. I ran to the grocery store and grab a 4 pack of watermelon Celsius, frozen veggies, Eggo waffles, tea bags, string cheese, coffee filters, Wheat Thins, and lean ground beef
($37.01). Head up to the rooftop lounge at the apartment complex to FaceTime a friend that lives across the country since there is zero privacy in the apartment.
14:15: Get off FaceTime, work on some more laundry, and head out to therapy.
16:15: Good, productive, fun, and validating therapy session and I make it over to my friend’s condo to check on her kitties. I had set up a reoccurring biweekly therapy appointment now that I know my school schedule for the upcoming semester too. We talked about money fixation and anxiety and trying to let that go. We agree that I should sleep in a bit tomorrow, walk my dog, go for a swim, and then go to work. I don’t ~need~ the money so working 12 hours vs 7 or 8 is not an issue. My mental health is more important. Also the work hangover from yesterday is real.
17:00: Boyfriend comes over after work and jumps in the shower while I’m a couch potato (Disclaimer: he’s friends with my friend too and she’s 100% comfortable with him hanging out too.) We relax and hang with the kitties and catch up on our days.
18:45: We head to dinner. We grab burritos at one of our favorite local spots and I pay
($25.88). We look at houses for fun on Zillow and discuss what apartments we want to tour in the next couple weeks.
20:00: I make it home and have a long talk with my mom about her friend who ended up in the hospital today with a compound fracture. Long story short I’ll need to stay up until midnight to hand off the house keys, garage door opener, etc. to a friend who is driving into town that can take care of her dog. Her dog is a pit bull that is vicious to strangers so no one else can go over to the house other than this friend who pet sits and knows the dog.
23:30: The friend makes it and we hand him the keys and everything he needs. I had spent the evening tidying up and meal prepping and looking at more apartments. It’s amazing to me how much time goes into keeping a clean and tidy home.
12:08: I spent a half hour setting up my June budget and then pass out.
TOTAL: $62.89 THURSDAY - DAY 2 9:05: I finally wake up to a bunch of texts from multiple different friends / friend groups. Ugh. I’m just feeling really anxious about school starting tomorrow, my mom being very distraught over her colleague / friend, working today, and a busy weekend coming up. I make some coffee and walk my pup.
9:33: I call my mom while feeding my pup breakfast and tell her how I’m feeling and we both agreed I ran around too much last semester and I told her I am setting firm boundaries with myself to basically not do anything social during the school week once clinical start (Monday - Thursday) unless it’s like a super casual dinner and I truly have the capacity for it. I burned myself out at the end of last semester and spent weeks putting the pieces back together.
9:55: I make another cup of coffee and take myself for a morning swim. It brings me so much joy and grounds me. I swim 500 yards and then jump into the shower, throw my scrubs on, kiss my pup goodbye and head to the hospital. I drink a chocolate Primer Protein shake and call my friend L on the way to hear how her trip has been going so far. It was nice to catch up even though we saw each other over the weekend lol.
10:54: Ate my overnight oats made with half and half and some blueberries, clocked in, and headed out to the floor. Immediately get asked to be a sitter which literally never happens. Thank you universe. Feeling a little less anxious now that I’m here and feeling thankful for the little bit of extra money I’m making and being here for my community.
14:04: Maybe not thank you universe - the patient slept for a while then got extremely combative and was trying to punch me. I switch off with a coworker and head to the break room to eat a bowl I made with frozen veggies + rotisserie chicken from Costco + cheddar cheese on top.
19:09: I finally clock out. I had a snack of 2 rice cakes and some almonds at one point. Rest of work was wild (i.e. a psychotic patient that pulled out his IV and was throwing things everywhere, someone screaming in pain for hours nonstop, etc.) and had me questioning what I am doing making this career change. I am tired.
19:49: I make it home after swinging by L’s to check on her kitties. Jump in the shower. My mom has dinner ready and I scarf down this gorgeous basil, mozzarella, peppers, tomatoes, avocados, and olive salad + a couple Trader Joe’s dolmas + a couple pieces of fresh bread. Delicious. I force myself to get my food and my school bag ready for tomorrow and lay my scrubs out before I crawl into bed a little after 9.
TOTAL: $0 FRIDAY - DAY 3 06:22: Alarm goes off and I roll out of bed and take my pup for a nice walk. Give him breakfast / shower / throw on my scrubs / pack my lunch / give the pup a big kiss goodbye and I am out the door a little after 7:00.
07:47: I get to school and I am NOT feeling it lol. I stopped at Costco for gas on my way
($20.67) and I also swung by a very Texas niche store that sells all kinds of beef jerky my brother really likes to grab some for his birthday coming up
($17.98).
10:00: Class is boring - it’s tough getting back into it with an 8 hour cardiac lecture. It’s good to see my friends but struggle is real. I run into my favorite professor and she makes my morning. I tell her all about my upcoming internship and my boyfriend’s new job and she was stoked and told me to “lock him down” hahaha. I also make 2 phone calls to apartment complexes we are interested in cause my boyfriend doesn’t get great reception at work during business hours. One place doesn’t have any current availability but the lady was so nice and will be sending me a virtual tour later today. Schedule another tour on Monday afternoon.
11:30: We break for lunch and I eat the same thing as yesterday - rotisserie chicken + frozen veggies + cheddar cheese.
12:30: Spend the afternoon in class completely unable to concentrate. The professor is throwing ECG rhythms around left and right. 8 hours of ECG lecture is NOT a productive way to learn the material. I work on a couple study guides during class cause I cannot.
3:30: We get out a little early and I rush to meet my mom for a walk through of the house. I follow her back to her office because I sent a big Chewy order there. Pick up the box along with a Diet Coke, order us Cava for dinner, pick up Cava, check on my friends cats on my way home real quick, and then have a shower and relax. Mom pays for Cava and I thank her multiple times.
7:00: We eat dinner all together when everyone is eventually home (harissa avocado bowl for me!) and then my boyfriend calls right when I head out to walk my dog. Perfect. I miss him and have been having anxiety around our new schedules. We have a good 30 minute chat about our days before I spend the evening basically doing nothing. I chat with my family and mess around on my phone. Text boyfriend about different apartments.
22:44: Bed time after I brush and floss my teeth. I’m zonked from the week.
TOTAL: $38.65 SATURDAY - DAY 4 08:30: I’m awake! Did not sleep well at all cause thunderstorms. My pup is deathly afraid and will not stop shaking for hours so I end up sleeping on the couch on and off. We were up and down all night but somehow I feel okay. We go for a quick walk, feed him, and start a load of whites in the washer.
09:08: I have a shower, and then I head out to get my family coffee from one of our favorite spots.
10:45: Make it back home with 2 cold brews for my brother and I and a latte for mom. I also picked up 5 breakfast tacos and a German chocolate cake for Sunday dinner tomorrow
($56.24). I eat a bean and cheese taco and a potato and egg taco, start some laundry, and put air in my tires with my home compressor since my low air light has been on in my car for an embarrassing amount of time. Brother needs air in his tires too so turns into a production lol.
12:18: Spent a couple hours putzing around dealing with the tires and more laundry and packing a bag for tonight. We are headed to the lake for a friend’s bday party and I have no clue what I want to wear so I pack a lot of options and clothes for church tomorrow morning too. Now it’s time to drive around for a little bit and check out some potential apartments and do a small Target run.
14:02: I make it home from apartment cruising and my Target run. I bought a 3 subject notebook, tire pressure gauge with valve caps included, two bags of frozen veggies, mini coke zeros, and a bag of Lesser Evil popcorn
($21.50). I was so tempted to stop for lunch on my way home but lines were long everywhere so I made myself some cheesy eggs + 2 Eggo waffles when I got home. Put the valve cap on my tire that is missing one.
14:36: Make it to L’s condo and clean up after the cats and start the Roomba. Boyfriend texts that he is out of work and on his way over! He’s been up since 4 am this morning for work and I am feeling some type of way with everything on my plate / anxiety so we will see how long we make it tonight lol.
15:30: S is showered and we are out the door!
16:30: We make it to the rental, change into our bathing suits, and walk down to the river.
19:00: We hang out in the river for a good 2.5 hours. It was a good time - nice to chat with my school friends and their partners. Boyfriend and I head out before the real partying starts lol.
20:00: We eat dinner at this cute Tex Mex place. Boyfriend has some kind of alcoholic mixed drink and we share a fajita for 2 plate. Boyfriend pays - it was $70.56 with tip. I drive us back because he does not like to drive even after one drink which I am 100% here for. We are so tired lol.
21:15: Make it back to L’s condo and we take a hot shower and get into bed in the guest bedroom. It takes forever for us to both fall asleep.
TOTAL: $77.74 SUNDAY - DAY 5 6:50: Oh boy neither of us slept well. There was another thunderstorm. One of the cats was yowling nonstop outside our door. The ceiling fan was clanking on and off. The bed was way too soft. Up and down again all night for a second night in a row for me lol.
8:11: I’m showered and we are both dressed and we head out to one of our favorite taquerias for breakfast. I get 2 bean and cheese tacos and one machacado + egg taco. Boyfriend also gets 3 tacos and we both get coffee. We sit and chat for a while until it was time to go to church. I pay on the way out
($22.98 with tip).
11:40: After an hour of church and an hour meeting for a committee I’m on - I’m wiped out. Still have a house walk through to do with my family and boyfriend so I head over there and we are there for about an hour.
13:10: Finally made it home, walked my pup, and made myself a late lunch of Dave’s Killer bread toast + peanut butter + banana.
13:54: A girlfriend calls and asks if I want to get a pedicure this afternoon. We decide to get dinner together on Thursday instead. I’m actually very touched she called me because we are friends through another friend and normally don’t get together just the two of us. I’m really happy she reached out. I also invite one of my friends from school - I have been wanting them to meet for a while.
14:30: Nap timeeeee! I knock out for an hour then realize how thirsty I am and how badly I need to get out of the apartment. I get up, take the pup for a spin with my brother, and head to Sonic to get a large diet cherry limeade and then head to L’s condo to check on the kitties and chill
($3.34).
18:00: I spent a couple hours chilling on the internet - working on my google calendar, school organization, church emails, reviewing some apartments we may drive by tomorrow, and I download the remaining episodes of season 1 of Nurse Jackie to watch tonight. I had bought the complete first season over a month ago and still haven’t watched it all lol. That’s how little I watch tv.
20:00: We had bibimbap for dinner and German chocolate cake for dessert. Delicious. I clean up the dishes and do more laundry because that’s my life between school, work, working out, having 2 hairy pets, etc. Unpack my bags from the river day and sleepover last night too. Chat with my family.
22:00: Crawl into bed and watch some Nurse Jackie before passing out.
TOTAL: $26.32 MONDAY - DAY 6 7:33: I slept better but still tossed and turned. Still just anxious with everything going on, especially the start of another intense semester.
8:47: Pup is fed and walked. I open the windows because it is 68 degrees which is unheard of in June in south Texas.
10:06: I ended up doing a deep clean of my room hahah. Wiped down and vacuumed every surface. So much hair. My pup is shedding so bad. I change my bedding and toss my comforter in the wash. Thank goodness I have 2 sets of sheets now. I had only 1 for the longest time lol. I take a break and eat some Greek yogurt + pecans + banana + drizzle of honey.
11:03: I vacuumed the common areas in the apartment, took a long shower, and I’m dressed and ready for my boyfriend to pick me up. I felt like being cute today so I put on this new leather skirt from Alice + Olivia my boyfriend got me as a present that I haven’t worn yet + a white crop top + my cheetah old skool Vans. I’m so tired though lololol. This is one of the only Mondays we both have off for the foreseeable future so I am gonna rally and make the most of it!
11:15: Boyfriend is so tired too bahah. We go grab coffees at this cute little coffee shop I’ve been wanting to check out. I get a cortado. Boyfriend gets an iced caramel almond milk latte and I treat
($11.82 with tip). We sit and chill and map out what apartments we want to check out today.
12:30: Walk across the street to grab Tex Mex for lunch at a pretty famous place in town. I get the enchilada plate and boyfriend gets a chicken quesadilla plate. He pays and it is $27.89 with tip.
1:30: Go for our first apartment tour of the day and it is depressing. We drive around and check out the other apartments we are I interested in and then go on one more tour at a place that we are really impressed by. It’s $1.3k or so for a 500 sq ft one bedroom and that’s a stretch. Ideally he wants the base rent to be $1,000 or less which is quite doable. Yet again - south Texas prices for the win. He is looking at older buildings, but they are well kept up and in good neighborhoods. They are not in the hottest places to be in town, but definitely still nice.
16:00: We go back to L’s condo and chill and take care of the kitties. Discuss the apartments and ask my brother if he wants to get dinner with us and he agrees.
18:00: We head back to my apartment, pick up my brother, and head to dinner. We order a large caesar salad, an arugula and sausage pizza, and a mushroom and pepperoni pizza. This spot does $10 two topping pizzas on Monday and it slaps. I treat my boyfriend and brother to dinner
($48.01 with tip).
20:00: Home and boyfriend walks my pup with me. Brother makes us both tea and we have a nice cup of tea and chat until boyfriend heads home. I put together my breakfast and lunch tomorrow and then lay down to chill and have some quiet time.
22:30: Bed time! First day of critical care didactic is tomorrow and I am feeling mostly excited.
TOTAL: $59.82 TUESDAY - DAY 7 6:22: My alarm goes off and wakes me from a deep sleep. I finally slept a good 8 hours though!
7:10: I am showered and throw on some black Lululemon Align leggings and a swiftly tech tee. I was gonna wear real pants but screw that haha. I am really dragging this morning.
7:50: Make it to school and lecture starts at 8. Honestly - that lecture could have been given in 45 minutes but we spent the first 2 hours simply going over the schedule and clarifying assignments since everything is such a disorganized hot mess at the beginning of the semester.
10:05: We take a break and call a fellow church congregation member to see if we want to meet today to tour an organization that supports people immigrating. We are debating if we want to allocate church donation funds to them. We agree to meet at the location at 1:30.
12:41: We are done with class and I stayed a bit after to start making my study guide for our first test even though it isn’t for 5 weeks. I realize the time and quickly pack up and go heat up my lunch. Chat with an MSN student who I had met in orientation for my internship a couple weeks ago and he expressed his frustration about how the start of this semester is rough for him too.
2:38: We finish our tour and we are very impressed at the clean and organized operation. We agree to each write our own follow up email to the rest of the group before the end of the day supplying the church donating.
3:30: I make some jasmine tea and have some quiet time when I get home before starting on some dosage calculation problems that are due on Friday.
5:45: I end up spending almost 2.5 hours on homework - dosage calculations, an article summary, and start on a medication sheet. Ouch. I lay down for 20 minutes, take my pup out, and then head out to meet my friend for dinner at Cava.
6:30: I get the lemon chicken bowl and pita chips
($13.69) and we sit and chat for a 1.5 hours. We just saw each other a couple weeks ago, but so much to catch up on.
20:00: We agree to go on a double date in the next couple weeks and I head home. I walk my pup with my mom and brother, pack my gym bag and my food for tomorrow, write my follow up emails from today’s visit to the church committee, and relax in bed.
TOTAL: $13.69 TALLY OF DAILY EXPENSES: - Food + Drink: $240.36
- Fun / Entertainment: $0
- Home + Health: $0
- Clothes + Beauty: $0
- Transport: $30.67
- Other: $17.98
TOTAL EXPENSES: $279.11 REFLECTION I spent quite a bit on going out to eat this week with my boyfriend, family, and friends. It was the end of my school break and boyfriend is transitioning to a new job so we were a bit out of whack with spending on food. Usually we eat at home with our families more, but it was nice to go out and enjoy ourselves too. It was a super busy week for me too - which is the norm lately. I have a great community and social life here compared to the West Coast and I do not take that for granted. Trying to make myself more of a priority so I don’t burn out again, which is difficult for me.

2023.06.07 22:57 ONE_GUY_ONE_JAR Comparing quotes: Bryant versus Lennox versus Payne
Hey there,
I'm comparing quotes for a new HVAC system.
Lennox: ML17XC10-30 A/C and EL296EL $15,350.00
Bryant: 115SAN A/C and 915SB060080 furnace: $11,760.00
Payne: Payne 114030 and "80% gas furnace: $6,853.74
This is for a rental unit I'm planning on keeping forever. I realize that Payne is bottom of the barrel and the other units are from better brands and are much higher efficiency. I'm mainly wondering about the difference between the Bryant and the Lennox quote and whether it's worth the difference.
Another thing is that the Lennox quote is from Costco, and I'll be getting 17% back through them. So, that brings the Lennox system right in line with the Bryant. But I'm wondering if the systems are equivalent and they're just building that discount right into the price.

Have the prices mega jumped or am I tripping? Love to see the success and especially the recent run of form but god damn 200 plus with parking (for 2 tickets ) and I’m not even factoring in the Charlie’s Hamburgers/tailgating/gas costs. Might have to save for the playoffs and go all out.

2023.06.07 15:17 MightBeneficial3302 Enterprise Group (TSX: E, OTCQB : ETOLF) Earnings Exceeded Expectations And More to Come
| When you finish reading this article, you may well kick yourself. The good news is that the Enterprise Group, Inc. (TSX: E) (OTCQB: ETOLF) growth is just getting started. While hindsight is 20/20, the future looks very bright for this consolidator of energy services (including specialized equipment rental to the energy/resource sector), including one of the first companies to build and release systems and plans to drastically lower GHG emissions of resource companies. (Opened in Apr 2022). https://preview.redd.it/me1yrccxhl4b1.jpg?width=1024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b007813063481fc0339adb9bfa41a6e8006ce144 Cool as that is, it isn’t the good part the graph below shows the price growth of Enterprise (orange line on the graph below) over the last two years against all the major indices (group like a rainbow at the bottom). If you bought the shares a couple of years ago, congrats. The second-best time is today. I will give you the most up-to-date info and stats. If you don’t come out with a positive attitude about the shares, I can’t help you. I will list the salient reasons why a little (or a lot) of the Company should be in your portfolio. Over and above the fact it smoked the major US Indices. These points will be in some order, but all are powerful forces to grow the Company. - The shares closed on Friday, May 26th, 2023, at CDN 0.475 cents—a 52-week high.
- If you bought the shares two years ago, they cost around CDN 0.20 (Returns later).
- FY 2022 Earnings of CDN 0.05 (Next fact is impressive)
- Q1 2023 Earnings of CDN 0.06 a share.)
- To date, the Company has purchased and canceled nearly 11 million Enterprise shares at an average cost of CDN 0.24
- ENTERPRISE management puts much time and effort into the company’s growth, mainly for its shareholders’ benefit.

Net income: CA$2.28m (up from CA$2.38m loss in FY 2021). Net Profit margin: 8.5% (up from a net loss in FY 2021). The move to profitability was driven by higher revenue. EPS: CA$0.05 (up from CA$0.049 loss in FY 2021). Factors That Will Drive Future Growth. A Lot. - The oil and gas CAPEX market size was around USD 502 billion in 2020, and it is anticipated to reach around USD 942 billion in 2027, registering a CAGR of around 8.1% during the forecast period 2022-2027…Hence, to meet the strong global demand for crude oil and natural gas, more investment is required for exploration and production activities, which in turn promulgates the CAPEX in the oil and gas industry. (researchandmarkets.com)
- **“**The BC government breached the Treaty Rights of the Blueberry River First Nations, says a new provincial court ruling that could have sweeping implications for oil, gas, forestry and hydroelectric development in the northeastern part of the province.” (Narwhal)
- With a stellar reputation, personal relationships with nearly all the resource companies in Western Canada and a stated plan to work with clients to reduce and eventually eliminate GHG emissions, Enterprise is in an excellent and virtually peerless position to benefit from The Blueberry/BC Supreme Court Decision.
- Enterprise’s senior officers, including CEO and President Leonard Jaroszuk, have embarked on a cross-country tour, visiting investors, financial professionals and others involved in the capital markets to emphasize the growth and potential of the Enterprise.
- Given the rise in Capex spending and the growth of the resource industry as the ‘Green Economy’ gets underway over the next several years, Enterprise is in the ‘sweet’ spot.
- The reality of energy production growth represents several things. First, as Green Tech develops, a growing supply of fossil fuels globally will be needed.
- Resource companies and suppliers such as Enterprise Group will need to continue, with its peers, to create the most benign (and ever more relevant) GHG mitigation production technologies and processes.
- Oil and Gas CAPEX spending growth over the following years also bodes exceptionally well for the oil and gas service sector. From resource technology company Schlumberger:
Bottom Line When shareholders and investors dive into the Company’s advances, they will note the following. - Enterprise’s client base constantly grows, including several Tier One companies added in 2022
- Uninterrupted annual Cash Flow; a portion used to buyback market shares
- Response to Evolution Power Projects has exceeded corporate expectations.
- Offer clients custom technologies to reduce Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions.
- Blueberry First Nations opens a vast opportunity to add significant business.

2023.06.07 15:03 KAExcaliber RV Space for Rent
| Hello everyone! After being accepted into graduate school in Orange County, my wife and I decided to move up from San Diego to eliminate the commute. After seeing the condition and price of rentals in the area, we decided to purchase a travel trailer as our graduate school home instead. We found a few RV resorts with long-term parking options and put our names on the waiting list, though we have yet to receive a call. School starts in August, and I was hoping someone here might have a lead on where we can park until a spot opens up. Some parks allow short-term parking but require you to leave after ~28 days for at least two weeks. While this is an option, it will be too much of a hassle while I am in my program and is much more expensive. We would be willing to rent at a fair price for the opportunity until a RV-lot space opens up. If the situation is favorable, we would be open to long-term rent too! Our trailer is 29.5' x 8' feet. The ability to hook up would be also be huge plus. Feel free to share this with anyone you think may be able to help out. Thank you! https://preview.redd.it/suhlxz0wgl4b1.jpg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=45b3a94854d6652a06a4bc157191cd18028612dd submitted by KAExcaliber to placentia [link] [comments] |
2023.06.07 14:52 kittehgoesmeow What A Day: Oh My Nord by Julia Claire & Crooked Media (06/06/23)
"The Lord has determined I am a woman. My pronouns are U.S.A." - Harris Faulkner taking the Fox News “my pronouns are” bad joke format to new heights. Fodder Over The Dam
Leaked classified reports have unearthed some blockbuster information regarding last fall’s Nord Stream pipeline attack. - Late last September, sudden, unexplained gas leaks were reported in the pipelines between Russia and Germany known as Nord Stream 1 and 2, later found to have resulted from bomb attacks. At the time, it was widely assumed that Russia was behind the sabotage, as the only global actor that could actually benefit from more uncertainty in the European gas market. But a new report from the Washington Post details that the Biden administration knew months in advance that Ukraine planned to attack the undersea network.
- Information about the plan had been collected by a European intelligence service, then shared with the CIA in June of last year, with some of the most specific evidence to date linking the Ukrainian government to the bomb attack in the Baltic Sea. This revelation is the latest to come out of the massive Discord leak by (rogue racist guy who isn’t old enough to rent a car but for some reason had unbelievably high security clearance) Jack Teixeira, a junior Air National Guardsman.
- The details resulting from the investigation include highly specific numbers and methods of attack, meaning that for the better part of a year, Western allies had evidence leading them to suspect that the actor behind the attack was Ukraine. Ukrainian officials did not respond to requests for comment and previously denied the country was involved in the attack. The White House and the CIA also declined to comment.
This is…not great! The United States’s unequivocal support for Ukraine stems from Ukraine’s innocence. Largely, of course, it is. But these latest revelations (and the fact that the U.S. seemingly knew all along) is a good reminder that we must maintain a critical eye with our allies, not just our adversaries.

Under The Radar
The Supreme Court’s erosion of the separation of church and state reached a logical and much-feared result on Monday when a state school board in Oklahoma voted to approve what would be the first publicly-funded, explicitly religious school in the nation. Attorney General Gentner Drummond (R-OK) warned the board that the division clearly violates the state constitution, but it voted to approve a K-12 online public charter school run by the Catholic Archdiocese of Oklahoma nonetheless. Shortly after the vote, Drummond made a statement calling the approval “contrary to Oklahoma law and not in the best interest of taxpayers.” Executive director of the Catholic Conference of Oklahoma Brett Farley said, “We are elated that the board agreed with our argument and application for the nation’s first religious charter school.” Activist groups like Americans United for Separation of Church and State were decidedly less excited. Gov. Kevin Stitt (R-OK)—who earlier this year signed a bill into law giving parents in the state a tax incentive to send their children to private schools including religious schools—praised the board’s vote, as it furthers his goals of imposing Christianity on all Oklahomans and defunding the state’s public schools.
What Else?
Ring the Bad Guy alarm! Disgraced former president Donald Trump’s former chief of staff Mark Meadows testified before a federal grand jury as part of DOJ’s ongoing investigation of Trump’s theft of classified government documents as well as his efforts to overturn the 2020 election.
Surprise, surprise: after pretending for the past six goddamn months that the government needs to “rein in government spending to reduce the deficit,” what’s Republicans’ first order of business now that they’ve released the debt-limit hostage? You guessed it! Tax cuts for the wealthy and corporations, one of the largest contributors to the national debt. The Securities and Exchange Commission sued the country’s largest cryptocurrency platform Coinbase on Tuesday for failing to register as an exchange and therefore operating illegally. Legal counsel for wretched billionaire and Clarence Thomas’s benefactor Harlan Crow have agreed to speak with the Senate Judiciary Committee about Crow’s relationship with Thomas, after initially rebuffing requests from the panel. Don’t worry, though,
he’s still blowing off the Senate Finance Committee.
Protests against pension reform in France are still going strong(!) and even made their way to the headquarters of the Paris 2024 Olympics on Tuesday. In a so-dumb-it’s-funny turn of events, 11 members of the ultra-conservative House Freedom Caucus joined all Democrats to kill a pair of GOP bills to “protect gas stoves” (lol) in a move to punish House Speaker Kevin McCarthy for cutting a debt ceiling deal with President Biden instead of forcing the country into recession. Twitter’s new CEO Linda Yaccarino logged her first (and second) day at the beleaguered and devalued social-media company. Welcome to hell, Linda!
A Pennsylvania appellate court ruled that the government cannot ban people convicted of non-violent crimes from owning guns. The PGA Tour and LIV Golf (the league that sprung up out of nowhere bankrolled by Saudi Arabia’s sovereign wealth fund) unexpectedly announced a merger after months of fighting for top billing in men’s professional golf. Saudi Arabia has been staggeringly successful in buying its way into the global sports arena in recent years.
Former New Jersey Governor and Trump-sycophant-turned-critic Chris Christie will, hilariously, announce his bid for the White House tonight in New Hampshire. Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) is somewhere visibly shaking.
Be Smarter
Twitter owner and plague on all of our houses Elon Musk has, for many months, been peddling baseless claims that the United States government forced the company to censor a 2020 New York Post article about Hunter Biden. He hand-picked a group of red-pilled journalists and gave them access to company archives, which they compiled into a series of tendentious reports that became the so-called “Twitter Files.” But now,
Twitter’s own lawyers are disputing those claims in court, emphatically rejecting the notion that the Twitter Files demonstrate what Musk and many conservatives rabidly assert they contain. One of the central allegations from the Twitter Files is that regular communications between the FBI and Twitter ahead of the 2020 election amounted to government coercion to censor content, or an even more spurious claim that Twitter had become a conduit of the U.S. government. One of the problems with that theory is that in the fall of 2020, Donald Trump was president, not Joe Biden. The Trump administration made its own requests for removal of content on Twitter, and payments to Twitter from the government have been identified as routine reimbursements for responding to subpoenas and investigations, not for content moderation. Twitter’s lawyers went even further, saying that the communications show no proof of coercion “because they do not contain a specific government demand to remove the content — let alone one backed by the threat of government sanction.”

2023.06.07 14:01 dreftzg [Daily News] Are These New Seiko Chronos Ugly Or Not?, Breguet Has Two New Military Chronographs, French Watchmaker Teams Up With French Carmaker For French Race and Dan Henry Is Back With New Colors And Same Price
Welcome back, it's Wednesday and I'll just come out and say it - that Seiko is ugly... Change my mind.
What's new
1/ Seiko Adds Four Completely New Chronographs To The Prospex Collection And Four Limited Editions To The Presage Craftsmanship Series In 1999 Seiko launched a limited edition they called the
Sportura Kinetic Chronograph. It was a funky watch that used four subdials to display the time and chronograph functions. Just looking at it and you feel the angst of the end of the millennium and the cheesy futurism (not to be confused with neo futurism in architecture led by Norman Foster, Zaha Hadid and Santiago Calatrava) that permeated industrial design of the time - from Oakley glasses to Jnco jeans. There’s no easy way to say this, but it’s an ugly watch. I can appreciate the experiment. But come on.
However, Seiko believes that the four dial layout of the Kinetic was pleasing to the eye. That’s why they decided to recreate it in four new solar chronographs that they are adding to the Prospex collection, marking the company’s association with the World Athletics Championships to be held in Budapest, Hungary, in August. Officially called the Seiko Prospex Speedtimer Solar Chronograph, all four watches sport a new movement with the Seiko Caliber 8A50, a 1/100-second chronograph with a +/- 15-seconds per month precision rating.
The Seiko Prospex Speedtimer Solar Chronograph watch is 42mm-wide, 12.9mm-thick, and its lug-to-lug distance is 48.3mm. All four watches have the same case and bracelet design but in different executions and ever-so-slightly different prices and naming schemes. I could go on into detail about the dials and colors, but it’s all just a bit confusing.
You can hop on over here if you would like to know more.
Two of the models will be limited edition of 4,000 each and two will be regular production models. The Seiko Prospex Speedtimer Solar Chronograph watch prices range from 890 Euros to 970 Euros, and all four versions will be available from July 2023. Regular readers of the newsletter will know I keep things very chipper here and don’t pass judgement. But these new Seiko’s are just baffling to me. They look like those Diesel watches you buy at the mall. Am I wrong?
Thankfully, Seiko has another announcement for today. While they have shown these watches previously, they are now starting to sell these stunning
Presage Craftsmanship Series watches. Marking the 110th anniversary of its first wristwatch, the Laurel, Seiko is putting out two pairs of these limited edition pieces, with each featuring a dial made by a dedicated artisan or craft workshop through a traditional Japanese decorative technique — enamel, urushi lacquer, Arita porcelain, and shippō enamel. All four models boast a new case shape, a fresh dial aesthetic, and an in-house automatic movement. And they are now hitting the market.
And despite Seiko’s price increases for recent releases, these new editions seem to align with their predecessors. The white enamel SPB393 retails for €1,650, the brown urushi SPB395 for €2,000, the ivory Arita porcelain SPB397 for €2,000, and the blue shippō enamel SPB399 for €2,250.
2/ Breguet Gives Us Two Redesigned Variations Of The Classic Chronograph With The Type XX And Type 20 Just the other day I linked to a
great article on Type 20, the references issued by the French military in the 1950s. There were many brands who stepped up to produce these Type 20 watches, but the reference has stuck around to be synonymous with one brand in particular - Breguet. They have been making the Type 20 for years now, with occasional updates, but now Breguet is unveiling the new Type XX and Type 20 – a civilian and military-inspired take on the classic design - which is the biggest change to the line.
Despite at first glance looking like it’s two of the same watches with different dials, the Type 20 and Type XX are actually different watches. Both watches come in the same steel case that measures 42mm wide and 14.1mm thick with bidirectional steel bezels and matching lume pips. But this is pretty much where the similarities stop. The Type 20 has a military inspired dial with mint green lume and syringe hands, while the Type XX is a civilian version with a creamy yellow lume and alpha hands.
The Type 20 and Type XX both have a new self-winding movement, the Calibre 728 for the civilian version and Calibre 7281 for the military version. Each movement has a column wheel, vertical clutch, 5Hz frequency, and flyback functionality with 60 hours of power reserve, plus an inverted in-line lever escapement with a flat silicon balance spring for increased durability, longevity, and magnetic resistance.
Why two different calibers? The difference lies in dial layout and how useful it would be in military or civilian applications. On the military version, you only have two registers, with a 30-minute totalizer at three o'clock, now larger than the 60-second totalizer at nine o'clock. Meanwhile, the civilian version has a 15-minute totalizer at three o'clock, a 12-hour totalizer at six o'clock, and running seconds at nine o'clock.
This is not a cheap watch. It will run you $18,000. But it might just be one of the best vintage revivals we have seen in a year full of vintage revivals.
3/ French Watchmaker Yema Teams Up With Alpine French Racing Team To Mark The Most French Race With Five New Watches One of the most legendary races in the world starts on Saturday and ends on Sunday. Yes, it’s the 24 hours of Le Mans. The race is, of course, one of the most recognisable french things, alongside the croissant and hating tourists. You know what else is very french? Alpine, the legendary car manufacturer that gained it’s fame with the quirky A110 and is currently doing really well (under Renault ownership) with its successor, also called the A110. Alpine will be present at the 24h of Le Mans With their Endurance Team. If only there was a watchmaker that could join in, making it a French hat trick. There is. It’s Yema. Yema has made five new watches to mark Alpine’s stint at Le Mans - the Yema Rallygraf A470 Limited Edition and four Rallygraf Alpine Endurance Team Automatic models of which one is mechanical while the other three are powered by the Seiko VK64 meca-quartz movement.
The Yema Rallygraf A470 Limited Edition takes all the right cues from 70s racing chronographs. The stainless steel case is 39mm wide and 12mm thick without the double-domed sapphire crystal. The solid caseback shows the Alpine Endurance Team logo and the limitation of the watch. The dial is finished in a gradient-blue colour, Alpine’s signature color, with a vintage dashboard-inspired bicompax layout and Alpine’s logo on the chronograph seconds hand. Inside the watch is the Valjoux 7753 and the watch comes on an appropriate black leather rally strap with a steel pin buckle. This watch will be limited to 470 pieces and can be pre-ordered for a price of USD 2,190 with delivery expected in September 2023.
This runs at a frequency of 28,800vph and delivers 48 hours of power reserve. The watch comes on a black leather rally strap with a steel pin buckle. Limited to 470 pieces, tying in with the car, it can
be pre-ordered for a price of EUR 2,190 with delivery expected in September 2023.
Then there’s the meca-quartz variants. They take the same case as the Rallygraf and give it three variations -
white dial with a blue outside minute track, a
cream dial with a black outside minute track or a
black dial with a cream outside minute track. All of these are also available for preorder now for EUR 399 and will be delivered in September 2023.
Yema also announced a second mechanical watch made in collaboration with Alpine, the Rallygraf Alpine Endurance Team Automatic. This will officially be unveiled this coming Saturday at the Circuit de la Sarthe, during the racing weekend of the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Although we don’t know all the details at this moment,
we can see it’s made of stainless steel, comes on a multi-link bracelet or black leather strap and has a black dial. The bidirectional rotating bezel can be used to calculate speeds, in combination with the inner ‘Temps Ecoule’ flange in white and blue. It is powered by the in-house Calibre YEMA2000 and will cost USD 990.
4/ The Dan Henry 1970 44mm is back with new colours and the same, affordable price You might know Dan Hendy as the microbrand that has been pumping out vintage inspired watches since 2016. What you might not know is that they made their name with the Dan Henry 1970 44mm Automatic Diver, the first of their watches to feature an automatic movement. While it might not seem like a big deal, it was for Dan Hanry and the shoppers in the sub $500 range. While Dan Henry serviced it’s customers by providing good value for money with quartz movements, the 1970 44mm Automatic Diver was the first time they offered a mechanical movement at such an affordable price. It sold out instantly and now, four years later, they are back with a limited edition of 1970 pieces.
It’s a very big watch. Very big. The heavy stainless steel super compressor style case measures 44mm in diameter and is 14.8mm thick with a 50.5mm lug-to-lug length. Despite these large dimensions, and with all other manufacturers fighting to go smaller, people still love this watch. They love it enough for it to go for over retail on the secondary market, which is not common for a watch in this pricepoint. Both of the crowns, one for rotating the inner-bezel and one for adjusting the time, screw into the case, giving it 200m water resistance.
The dials get a contrasting pop of color on the outskirts. There’s the black and orange, as well as the black and off-white with a black case and blue with white color combinations. Each version comes with its own colour-matching FKM rubber tropic strap. To keep the price low, the watches are powered by the Seiko NH35. Not the best movement in the world, but it gets the job done for an exceptionally low price.
The new Dan Henry 1970 44mm Automatic Diver is limited to 1,970 pieces,
available from Dan Henry and costs $310.
5/ Bamford Teams Up With Land Rover For The LR002 Limited Edition Somehere near the end of last year, Land Rover designed their first watch. They called it the LR001 and they turned to Bamford to put the watch into production. It was a great looking field watch made of titanium and all in shades of grey, with a decent price and limited to 100 pieces so they all sold out very fast. Now, Bamford London and Land Rover are bringing it back with an updated, equally limited, version in all black called the LR002.
The LR002 is pretty much the same watch as the LR001, except for the color. While not a fan of black watches, this isn’t a bad thing, as it gives you a chance to buy the sold out Land Rover watch. What is bad is the price, but more on that later. The case measures 40mm wide and 13.25mm thick, and is made out of DLC coated titanium. It has a shape that resembles a field watch but much more modern and has fixed bars. From photos, due to the thick case and fixed bars, this watch looks to wear much larger than it actually is.
The dial seems to be much more interesting than the case. It has a sandwich construction with the top part having a matte black surface and the underside being filled with white lume. And by alternating circular and oblong cutouts, there’s a dynamic look to the dial. Inside the watch is the same movement as in the LR001, the Selita SW200-1B, and it’s delivered on a leather NATO-style bracelet.
The LR002 will have a run of just 100 pieces that are exclusively sold through Hodinkee. At the time of writing there are still pieces available for sale at a price of $1,700. And that’s the biggest issue. The LR001 sold for about $1,300 and the only difference between the two watches is the DLC coating. Is it worth the price difference?
6/ The Casio A120 Is The Best Pairing For Stranger Things, But Do We Need It? The immense popularity of Stranger Thing undoubtedly lies in it’s 80s nostalgia that reminded us all of our childhoods. While playing to our good memories, it also roped in new generations by picking the best the decade had to offer and presenting it as something cool. That’s why you have a bunch of kids out there listening to Kate Bush and Metallica, while wearing Casio watches and buying VHS tapes. So it only makes perfect sense that Casio would team up with Stranger Things for a limited edition watch, and what better reference to do it with then the A120. This is the Casio x Stranger Things A120WEST-1A.
The watch is a classic Casio A120, with a 33.5mm x 40.7mm rectangle case and since it’s plastic it weighs only 25 grams. It’s not filled with a bunch of functions, but it does have a chronograph, alarm and calendar and you get three years of battery life. There’s a number of Stranger Things references on the watch - there’s a silhouette of the series’ demogorgon monster beneath the digital display and the LED backlight flickers and rapidly blinks just like the surfacing of a demogorgon in the show. Once lit, you can see the watermark of an upside down Stranger Things logo.
Casio has not announced when the watch will be available or how much it will cost, but you can keep an
eye out on it here. Is this a nice homage to a good TV show, or just another example of over-consumerism and corporate media properties slapping their name everywhere, without actually making a meaningfully authentic version of the watch?

On hand - a selection of reviews
1/ A review of Monta’s current flagship dress watch, the Noble 2/ Hands on with the 39mm and 42mm versions of the Hanhart 414 ES Flyback 3/ A week with the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore limited edition in pink gold and titanium -------------------------------------------------------------
Watch Worthy - A look at an offbeat, less known watch you might actually like
Dryden is a go-everywhere-do-anything watch with plenty of options Great dials are always appreciated, but no matter how good the dial is, it doesn’t matter if the watch isn’t wearable. The excellent design choices found on the dial of the Heartlander follow through to the case. Crafted from stainless steel the 38mm-wide case has a lovely 46mm lug-to-lug distance and is only 11.2mm-thick from solid steel caseback to domed sapphire crystal. These dimensions are in the Goldilocks region for an everyday watch for me and my ~6.5-inch wrist. The cases are predominantly brushed except for a thin highly polished bevel that flanks each side of the lugs.

2023.06.07 07:19 RichardsonM24 Fuel at Costco Oldham (06/06/2023)
2023.06.07 05:26 jayekub Worth a $5k teardown to see if warranty will cover a new enginge for my 2017 Certified Pre-Owned Niro?
I noticed my 2017 CPO Niro started making a clicking sound connected to the gas engine RPMs on my morning commute (~10 miles). On the evening commute it was louder, and halfway through the car started shuddering and then said "check hybrid system; turn off engine". I pulled off the freeway, parked as quickly as possible, and got a tow to the nearest dealership.
The dealership has been difficult to communicate with, but they say the car needs a new engine and it'll be a roughly $15k repair. The car has the 10-year 100k mile CPO warranty and only a little over 60k miles on it, so it's within the coverage period. The warranty company sent out an inspector and the result was that they want to do a tear down to determine whether the repair will be covered. The dealer quotes 20 hours of work or around $5k for the tear down. If the repair is covered by the warranty the tear down will be too, but if not...I guess I'm SOL. The KBB on the car is around $17k last I checked...
Wondering if I should roll the dice on the tear down or just swallow the loss and buy another car. Anyone have experience with something similar? Would appreciate any advice on this. I'll be trying to get as much info as possible from the dealer about what diagnostic information they do have, but it's been pulling teeth dealing with them.
I live in the Bay Area so I'm guessing these are pretty inflated prices. Will be calling a couple other dealers tomorrow to see if their prices are similar, but I have to go with a dealer for warranty repairs.

2023.06.07 04:57 SwiftExE Grill Suggestion
Hi all,
Currently looking into purchasing a grill and am debating between getting the
Weber Spirit II E-310 or the
Weber Spirit EX-315.
Just wondering if anyone has any advice or alternative suggestions.
At a high level, it seems the EX-315 retails for a higher price than what Costco is offering it at and comes with some built-in smart features (mainly temperature sensing) + some design differences. Not many reviews on the Costco site for that model, but other sites have more.
The Spirit II E-310 has the advertised gs4 upgrades (which I don't believe the EX-315 has) but no longer comes with the iGrill 3 accessory by default (which I'm not really all that interested in).
Thanks!

2023.06.07 02:57 missjeanlouise12 [SELL][US to anywhere]$10 palette section includes indies and mainstream; other indie and mainstream palettes, nail polish, eye and lip products. Brands include Sugarpill, Sigma, MAC, Nars, Chanel, KimChi, Viseart and more
Hello, and welcome to my sale!
I go by timestamps in this thread, so please do not message me until we have come to an agreement about pricing. I accept PayPal Goods and Services and will cover associated fees. I’ll hold items for a couple of hours unless you request differently, and will then move on to the next interested party if there is one. Some items may be posted on multiple platforms and I will usually go by timestamps across all platforms, but do reserve the right to prioritize buyers who will be purchasing multiple items.
Shipping starts at $5.00 for light items within the continental US and will increase with weight and distance. Palettes and nail polish are likely to cost more. I'm happy to ship internationally as long as you understand that postage can be costly. I do look for the best rates, domestic or international, and I ship quickly. Unfortunately, postage rates have increased and there’s only so much I can do. No minimum purchase.
I have marked a lot of things down significantly, including many $10 palettes, indie shadows in the $2-$6 range, and cut prices on everything. I can’t say for sure how much more flexibility I can offer, but
try making me an offer rather than closing out and moving on!
I’ve added swatch pictures that I found online for many of the products that have glimmer, shimmer or shifts. Hopefully this helps show how beautiful and unique these products are!

2023.06.07 02:04 Anti_exe325 Pink Octane by Green seal Cannabis Co. 27.2% Thc 3.5g
| (This is my first Strain review so be mindful of that) Strain And Overview: Pink Octane: This indicates dominant strain hits hard and smokes smooth. with a earthy citrus smell. and a pungent taste, this strain is perfect for daily smokers. the high is cerebral but does relax the body as well. its hard hitting and long lasting, it just make you feel good too. Effects/High: Although bring a Indica this hits you in the head in just the right way. but that doesn't mean that the indica is lost. you feel this high throughout your entire body. this strain will leave you relaxed and happy. overall I'd give the high a confident 9.2/10. honestly the high is the best part of this weed. and really that's your smoking weed for so this one's great. first green seal pickup I LOVED. Bag Appeal: These were medium sized green nugs with purple specks, orange psitils and friasted in a layer of kief. overall for bag appeal alone I'd give it a 7.9/10 Smell: I'm not the greatest at describing smells but, this strain Has a inital strong earthy aroma. then you get the Dank Gas smell. and finally on the back end you get a slight sweet citrus aroma. I'd give Pink Octane a 6/10 as the smell was lacking, but that could be the packaging date. Consumption methods: bong: Out of the bong you get a strong earthy, gassy taste with sweet notes on the end. it is really smooth and gives and nice head high as well as a nice body high. Left my eyes heavy and my mind happy. joint: When smoking a joint the flavour comes through much stronger. with Pink Octane you really get a gas taste and it kinda overpowers the sweet notes but, the citrus is still noticeable. it hits the head and eyes harder and burns clean. the ash was mainly white but did have specks of black. lastly the resin ring was well developed and even running at times. overall a great and tasty smoke. kingpalm/blunt: the thicker smoke provides a different smoking experience. the flavour was obviously affected and I found it a little harsher too. the ash was more peppery too this time. overall still really enjoyable too. smoothness, flavour and ash burning mainly pure makes this one a 8/10 on the smoking experience. Price: I picked this 8th up from my local store. it was on sale for $35.49 for the 8th, and it's not much pricer on OCS. coming in at $35.99 for the 8th. Rating: Overall I like the High a lot. I smoke a lot daily and I find a lot of the Indicas feel the same lately. so to get a cerebral high but also the body high is a nice change. the flavour is Dank and gassy, and earthy with slight sweet citrus notes. and i find the strain to be consistently really smooth. my bag was packaged on January 23 2023 wirhout a humidity pack so my nugs were a little stiff but that didnt really effect the smoking experience. So I'd say that Pink Octane is a 8.7/10 strain and I would recommend it to any smoker that likes a hard hitting indica with sativa notes. submitted by Anti_exe325 to TheOCS [link] [comments] |
