This is just a public health awareness thread about some little known things amongst the normans. Reddit wont let me post links, but what I will do is post study title and authors/year, and some cases abstract copy paste. I will do at the bottom after the statements.
So, as you all know, COVID is a thing still, and many didn't actually know what it was capable of, outside of comparisons to other coronaviruses and the acute illness. Right now, acute illness is incredibly manageable, but the long term effects on organs is becoming alarming, even in mild cases. So lets take it from the top, so we are on the same page. We will start on organ systems and virus character.
So, covid is pretty much a vascular virus, which seems to disrupt vasculature. Lets start before vaccines to demonstrate to those among us suspicious that the vaccine is the cause. (Its fine to worry about tech, i dont judge).
Every person in Sweden diagnosed with COVID-19 from Feb. 1, 2020, to Sept. 14, 2020 — a total of nearly 87,000 people. Their median age was 48, and 57% were women. Researchers compared them with more than 348,000 Swedish people of similar age and sex who did not have the virus.
In the week after a COVID-19 diagnosis, the risk of a first heart attack increased by three to eight times. The risk of a first stroke caused by a blood clot multiplied by three to six times. In the following weeks, both risks decreased steadily but stayed elevated for at least a month.
Thats PRE vax. In a population which probably have the obesity % of the US and a healthy hiking and outdoor culture. US obesity rate is 40%+. Sweden perhaps half or less. Also, viral load on exposure can be a large determination of severity acutely, but perhaps also viral creep inside the body and the resulting dysfunction and damage.

CONCLUSION:

COVID-19 was an independent predictor of incomplete revascularization and poor outcomes in patients with stroke due to LVO. Patients with COVID-19 with LVO were younger, had fewer cerebrovascular risk factors, and suffered from higher morbidity/mortality rates.
Long-term cardiac pathology in individuals with mild initial COVID-19 illness
In this cohort of selected previously well and home-isolating individuals initially evaluated at a median of 109 days and followed-up at 329 days after diagnosis of COVID-19 infection, respectively, the ongoing cardiac symptoms were related to mild but notable imaging findings, suggesting inflammatory cardiac involvement. At baseline, participants with cardiac symptoms had higher mapping values, suggesting diffuse myocardial inflammation, and more frequent pericardial enhancement, suggesting pericardial inflammatory involvement compared to asymptomatic participants. At follow-up, 53% of the cohort had persistent cardiac symptoms, whereas new symptoms developed in 5%.
Transcriptomic profiling of cardiac tissues from SARS-CoV-2 patients identifies DNA damage
In this study, we investigated the host transcriptome landscape of cardiac tissues collected at rapid autopsy from seven SARS-CoV-2, two pH1N1, and six control patients using targeted spatial transcriptomics approaches. Although SARS-CoV-2 was not detected in cardiac tissue, host transcriptomics showed upregulation of genes associated with DNA damage and repair, heat shock, and M1-like macrophage infiltration in the cardiac tissues of COVID-19 patients. The DNA damage present in the SARS-CoV-2 patient samples, were further confirmed by γ-H2Ax immunohistochemistry.
In comparison, pH1N1 showed upregulation of interferon-stimulated genes, in particular interferon and complement pathways, when compared with COVID-19 patients. These data demonstrate the emergence of distinct transcriptomic profiles in cardiac tissues of SARS-CoV-2 and pH1N1 influenza infection supporting the need for a greater understanding of the effects on extra-pulmonary organs, including the cardiovascular system of COVID-19 patients, to delineate the immunopathobiology of SARS-CoV-2 infection, and long term impact on health.

Initial data from 201 patients suggest that almost 70% had impairments in one or more organs four months after their initial symptoms of SARS-CoV-2 infection.
SARS-CoV-2 infection and persistence in the human body and brain at autopsy
We show that SARS-CoV-2 is widely distributed, predominantly among patients who died with severe COVID-19, and that virus replication is present in multiple respiratory and non-respiratory tissues, including the brain, early in infection. Further, we detected persistent SARS-CoV-2 RNA in multiple anatomic sites, including throughout the brain, as late as 230 days following symptom onset in one case. Despite extensive distribution of SARS-CoV-2 RNA throughout the body, we observed little evidence of inflammation or direct viral cytopathology outside the respiratory tract. Our data indicate that in some patients SARS-CoV-2 can cause systemic infection and persist in the body for months.

Endothelial dysfunction in COVID-19: an overview of evidence, biomarkers, mechanisms and potential therapies

SARS-CoV-2 infection primarily affects the pulmonary system, but accumulating evidence suggests that it also affects the pan-vasculature in the extrapulmonary systems by directly (via virus infection) or indirectly (via cytokine storm), causing endothelial dysfunction (endotheliitis, endothelialitis and endotheliopathy) and multi-organ injury.

Lingering cardiac involvement in previously well people after mild COVID-19

The mild but persistent non-ischemic cardiac inflammation that we describe in this study was not associated with overt structural heart disease or troponin release. Although it is triggered by a viral infection, profound myocardial injury or functional impairment is not typical, contrary to the classical definition of viral myocarditis2. Its pathophysiology is more reminiscent of findings in other chronic diffuse inflammatory syndromes that occur post-virally (for example, human immunodeficiency virus–associated cardiomyopathy)3or as a result of autoimmunity (for example, systemic lupus erythematosus4,5). In these cases, persistent subclinical cardiovascular inflammation seems to predispose people to a poor prognosis and the development of heart failure. Non-ischemic cardiac inflammatory involvement is therefore emerging as an important risk factor, and the long-term prognostic relevance of post-acute COVID-19 cardiac involvement in previously healthy people with mild initial COVID-19 illness requires further investigation.

Outcomes of Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance Imaging in Patients Recently Recovered From Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19)

Conclusions and Relevance In this study of a cohort of German patients recently recovered from COVID-19 infection, CMR revealed cardiac involvement in 78 patients (78%) and ongoing myocardial inflammation in 60 patients (60%), independent of preexisting conditions, severity and overall course of the acute illness, and time from the original diagnosis. These findings indicate the need for ongoing investigation of the long-term cardiovascular consequences of COVID-19.

Estimates of the prevalence of long COVID, defined by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention as new, returning, or lasting symptoms persisting 4 or more weeks after initial COVID-19 infection vary, with some studies showing as many as 43% of infected people will have some lingering symptoms 1 month after COVID-19 confirmation.

SARS-CoV-2 infection: The role of PD-1/PD-L1 and CTLA-4 axis
The most important diagnostic feature in individuals with COVID-19 is lymphocyte depletion, most importantly, T-cells. Due to the induction of interferon-γ (INF-γ) production by neutrophils and monocytes, which are abundantly present in the peripheral blood of the individuals with COVID-19, the expression of inhibitory immune checkpoints including, PD-1 (programmed death), PD-L1 and CTLA4 on the T-cells' surface is enhanced. The purpose of this review is to discuss the functions of these checkpoints and their effects on the dysfunction and exhaustion of T-cells, making them almost ineffective in individuals with COVID-19, especially in the cases with extreme symptoms.

COVID-19 and renal involvement: a prospective cohort study assessing the impact of mild SARS-CoV-2 infection on the kidney function of young healthy males
Mild COVID-19 is associated with mild renal involvement without AKI. Changes in the renal function appear to be related to reduced creatinine clearance and possible albumin leakage in the acute phase of the disease. The reduction in creatinine clearance is not predicted by viral load, and it appears to be a long-term effect of the disease that can last for at least 6 months.

Reduction and Functional Exhaustion of T Cells in Patients With Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19)
Conclusions: T cell counts are reduced significantly in COVID-19 patients, and the surviving T cells appear functionally exhausted. Non-ICU patients with total T cells counts lower than 800/μL may still require urgent intervention, even in the immediate absence of more severe symptoms due to a high risk for further deterioration in condition.

In this study, lower WM CBF, as well as widespread regional CBF changes identified using quantitative MRI, was found in mild COVID-19 patients. Further studies are needed to determine the reliability of this newly identified COVID-19 brain imaging marker and determine what drives these CBF changes.

I’m not going to lie this is my first time doing one of these things (whatever they’re called) but I just really need to get to the bottom of my problem or at least know that I’m not the only one. (Sorry in advance if there’s any typos)
Back story: I have always had slight vaginal issues since I was a child like yeast infections here and there, discharge in my underwear before I even hit puberty, couldn’t use bath bubbles like regular kids because i was sensitive, things like that. Over time the typical women problems got worse as I became sexually active. The story is very embarrassing but I was completely blind sided and contracted chlamydia from a now ex partner. I got treated but after I got treated, I started having these weird symptoms such as a heavy feeling in my pelvis as if I had to urinate but when I would go most times, it was rarely anything. I am also a pot smoker so another symptom I have is specifically when I’m half way in the middle of smoking. I get that heavy feeling in my pelvis again and if I’m sitting down and suddenly get up, my pelvis has pain to a point that it has me walking crazy. Went to my gyno, she said it was a uti, got uti medication and the symptoms sort of subsided, but came back. Then I also have this weird feeling I believe (I’m not 100% sure) is in my urethra. It’s feels like a pinch or electric shock and I feel it the most when I push the muscles that are used to urinate. It’s not painful but it is uncomfortable and very concerning. I also have a slight and I say very very slight burning sensation around my vulva, but sometimes I think its just in my head because it rarely happens as much as my other symptoms. I got retested by my gyno after my treatment and everything was negative but I still feel these symptoms so I went to my campus’s clinic for another opinion. When I told her my concerns/symptoms she was understanding but didn’t really seem too concerned with my symptoms and just told me it could be my anxiety (didn’t mention I do have anxiety). To ease my mind she asked if i wanted to test for hiv and just come back later to do any other test if I’m still concerned. So I did the test and it was negative but now I’m still scared it could be herpes or hpv considering I didn’t test for those. After all my obsessive google searching I found the vulvodynia diagnosis and thought maybe this was my problem, because I have no other concerning symptoms. I have a pretty good immune system considering I take vitamins so I haven’t been sick, I haven’t been extremely sleepy, nor have I lost any weight like the typical concerning symptoms. I must say that my symptoms are not as bad as they were in the beginning but they do still concern me.
Has anyone else had these same symptoms or have a similar story? I really need to ease my mind.

This week's case is Chambers County Doe, a likely transgender or intersex woman found dead in Texas. Note: She/her pronouns will be used throughout this write-up. - On a hot spring day at the end of May 1986, a Texan man set out for a round of can collecting on the beach near the tiny town of High Island, Texas, hoping to turn a profit from recycling them. Instead of finding trash, however, he found something much worse: the mummified body of a person lying dead on the beach. Since being transgender was so stigmatized, many people chose to live in 'stealth', or completely conceal their trans identity and cut off those who knew them prior to their transition, in hopes of avoiding violence and discrimination. Keeping this in mind, it's very possible that if Jane Doe was reported missing, it could have been under her birth sex and past name, if she was even in contact with her loved ones at all. Others have hypothesized that Jane Doe may have had an intersex condition known as Congenital Androgen Insensitivity Syndrome, a disorder wherein the body is unable to process androgenic hormones despite having XY chromosomes. Exposure to androgens in-utero is what leads to the masculinization of the body, so those with this condition often present externally female, and may not realize they were intersex until puberty when typical puberty fails to occur. Those with CAIS are, on average, taller than women without the condition, which, in my personal opinion, does not seem to coincide with Jane Doe's height of around sixty inches (approx. one hundred and fifty centimeters).
Following the development of a DNA profile, authorities were able to rule out three individuals as possible identities for Jane Doe: Bruce Walls, missing from Florida, Thomas Scott, missing from Texas, and Patricia Schmidt, missing from Virginia. This is happening more and more NOW too, Brick and Mortar is some what going away/ more stores will either close and open up a distribution center or become a distribution center, door dash will handle that, AND AT SOME POINT, Door Dash will be FULLY AUTONOMOUS as well/the vehicles will be self driving and robots will load and unload the vehicles, Door Dash MAY NOT be the ending company/the only company doing this, BUT a company/companies will be doing this.
Probably SOON employees that unload trucks, stock shelves, truck drivers, should go next, because of self driving vehicles and arms, connected to vehicles, which will drop the package out, once the vehicles in position or an autonomous drone or some other type of robot, will make the delivery.
Also think about how much a human can lift, if lucky, you MIGHT get one that can lift 250 pounds, a robot could lift 1000pounds, robots don't need breaks, as often/they can charge up, while another one replaces them, they don't get paid/need money, they don't get sick,they don't have feelings or rights/its a machine, so basically its easier to deal with,also at some point they will be fixing them selves; Or another bot/robot,will fix/maintain/repair and so on,other robots/EVENTUALLY they will be able to fix them selfs or another bot will aid in repairing them/other robots.
Electricians MIGHT be okay, well, MAYBE for a little while, I mean think about it, how hard is it, to see colors/distinguish green/ground,White/Neutral,Red and black/hot/a camera paired with AI or even just IFTTT and a camera,could handle that, also electricians ALREADY consult machines/voltage meters, to diagnose problems/figure things out/ALL of that could be on a machine/bot and be handled MUCH quickemore efficiently/effectively, with a bot.
Auto mechanics MAY be the next to go, especially if bots, could get in tight places easiesync with the whole cahave a diagnostic reader on board, lift an entire engine/the whole car, on its own/vehicles are already assembled by robots/vehicle manufacturing plants use robots for,painting, welding, assembly, and material handling,ALREADY/An average car has about 30,000 parts. Once those parts are manufactured and brought to the final production line, it takes companie's robots about 18 to 35 hours to produce one mass-market vehicle, from welding to full engine assembly to painting, another example of all of this is Tesla/ to meet Tesla's uncompromising production goals, Musk settled on an equally uncompromising production strategy, full automation, no ifs, ands or buts. The goal was to remove every single human operator and only stop when the facility looked like an alien spaceship,according to musk/these are musks words.

Effectively communicating ensures that you not only deliver your message to someone but also let them know about how you feel in a certain situation. Birth can be stressful, and so effectively communicating with each other is very significant to ease the burdens not just the mothers but also on your midwifery staff.
In midwifery communication plays a vital role in the success of every childbirth, where there can be multiple handovers depending upon the length of labor; transfers between home and hospital, often in emergencies; and referrals between midwives or obstetricians. Unsafe care can be caused by insufficient communication and failure to make sure that information is understood and received. The maternity teams emphasized the importance of improving communication in their improvement projects.
In order to provide better services for patients through effective communication, the World Health Organization (WHO) provided recommendations published last February 2018 stating “effective communication between maternity care providers and women in labor, using simple and culturally acceptable methods, is recommended”
Effective communication is a skill that everyone must improve. You can speak but not everyone will understand what you meant. You can give orders, but not everyone will follow. You can state a point but now everyone will listen. It truly depends on how you communicate effectively in the right place with the right people.

I took my bird blondie for a broken blood feather and they looked at her and took it out but she was nearly on the verge of passing out it seemed she was fighting a crap ton l the vet said that they hold restraints on the head etc anyway I thought she would stop picking at that area then boom yesterday she had blood at the same area and on her beak. I had a feeling it wasn't gone I searched the clinic and one of the reviews was from a bird owner saying to not bring your bird there with a long story time. I was crying and panicked what if something is still wrong there is still picking from there! I swear to god if they hurt my bird ill make them go bankrupt! The problem is there aren't a lot of vet clinics for birds in Minnesota idk what to do I was already nervous enough to give my bird to some stranger but they didn't even seem to fix anything! Please if ur in Minnesota Apple Valley please help what vet do you use?
