My boyfriend (21f) and I (23f) were in a long distance relationship for almost 2 years, we met a few times and most of the time we just talked.
In 2020 when the lockdown happened we moved back to our hometown and wasn't able to communicate as much which resulted us having issues with the relationship and we broke up a few times.
Later on he found out that his mother was terminally ill, he never told me the whole truth about his mother he only said that she was sick and needed a biopsy, on the other hand we were not on good terms, it was okay. So I told him that you should focus on your mother's health and I should focus on my studies,when things get better for either of us we should talk.
Fast forward 2022 I found out his mother died because of cancer, we only talked once since the death and now we unfollowed eachother on social media.
We haven't talked about the relationship yet and I don't think if we did talk it's gonna be good.

I got a bit bored of playing on my main account, so I thought I’d see what it would be like to climb to legend without bonus stars. Well, it’s actually surprisingly hard - mainly in that even if you win A LOT, it still takes considerable time.
I thought it would be interesting to share some of my findings, maybe those of you who are still climbing or struggle with it can make use of it. Note that this is not a deck guide as I’ve used decks that are prevalent. Also note that this was not a completely fresh account (but simply one not played on for a long time) so I didn’t go through the apprentice ranks and such, and had dust to spend on good decks.
First some overal stats:
Start: bronze 10, no bonus stars Finish: legend 2522 Overall winrate: 129-44 (75% winrate) Decks played: Pure paladin (54-19, 74% winrate) Outcast DH (70-22, 76% winrate) Enrage warrior (5-3, 62% win rate) Time played: 15.1 hours (spread over the past 3 days - as I said I was bored). The meta:Having climbed with a a 10 or 11-star bonus for a long time, I’m probably playing in quite a bubble. I was surprised by the diversity of the meta (see decktracker image). I’ve seen all classes, though druid and shaman only for 6 games both (3%). Deathknight was the outlier on the top end, though only with 17%, followed by Paladin (14%).The big difference between 11-star / high legend meta and this climb for me was the unrefined nature of a lot of decks. Cards included in decks probably because people think they’re fun (ETC rock duel), because they don’t know better (playing old, outdated lists) or dust issues maybe. I don’t know, but it made a lot of games fairly easy. From diamond 5 onwards I ran into the usual meta stuff, but saw considerably more hunter for some reason.
I thought Demon Hunter was a lot more popular, but I only ran into 7 of them (just 1 more than the 2 dead classes druid and shaman). So maybe relic DH is more popular in legend (even when it's not the best deck) than it is in general.
Decks and play style:
Outcast DH is a deck that I like and am comfortable with. I played the list from a recent reddit post. It might not be optimal but I’m not great at making meaningful tweaks to decks. I simply shredded through a lot of bronze, silver and gold with it. At some point had a 15 game win streak.Outcast DH is a deck with at least some game against a wide field, but you don’t like seeing control priest or blood DK. Since those weren’t prevalent at lower ranks (and those that were either had bad decks or didn’t know what my gameplan was), it was quite a good choice for fast wins. At this point the key thing was chaining win streaks for the bonus stars from 3 wins in a row, since that cuts down the time it takes considerably.

I ran into a bit more refined decks at plat and decided to switch to the current meta tyrant pure paladin. Reasoning was that at that point people played better against outcast, had a few losses too many and wanted to try if it was the deck or simply the meta. Used this list (LINK).The popular pure pala build is really strong overall, has decently fast games which is good. The only thing I really dislike (but that’s been a paladin / midrange deck issue for so long) is the difference between going first and second. I had a 83% win rate without coin, and 63% win rate with coin. That’s a pretty major difference. Maybe I’m not adapting my mulligan well enough with coin? I don’t know.

Enrage warrior was something I thought would work well because I love playing it and have had success with it in the heroic tavern brawl as well as using it to climb to top 100. But I ran into a lot of hunters and that felt like a rough matchup, while being an almost matchup for paladin (went 9-0 vs hunters), so I just switched back.

Random observations:
Mulligan: One of the bigger things that you hear a lot is ‘good streamer always has the card / curve!’. And that’s probably because of the same reason that people struggle to climb: mulligan. It’s SO important to mulligan for your best cards instead of simply keeping your decent cards. Look at HSreplay for stats on cards and use that to your advantage. Example: The Curator in pure paladin has the highest mulligan win rate of all cards. But is only kept 50% of the time. That’s bonkers. Meanwhile Grimestreet outfitter and seafloor saviour (though they’re not in the current best list they’re still played a lot) are kept 76 and 75% of the time, even though they are cards with a terrible mulligan win rate. So how come streamer has curator a lot on 5 and you don’t? Because they keep it when they see it, and mulligan sub-par cards away in the mulligan so they have a higher chance of getting the card that wins them matches. So don’t think ‘1 mana, 2 mana and 3 mana cards, great!’. Think about the best cards for the matchup you’re facing, and find them.
Tilt / stress: Because this was not my main account and I just wanted to try something else, I noticed I played really relaxed. Nothing was riding on a game, so even though I played A LOT in a short time, I didn’t really experience stress, anxiety or tilt at all. Losses were just that, I checked myself and moved on. For some reason that changed when I get to diamond 2, because I was ‘so close’ and really wanted to get there with the same win rate that I had maintained over the climb (was up to >80% at that point still). That led to me being frustrated of matchups and losses where I wasn’t before. I had quite some back and forward still, and 11 out of the 44 losses occurred around ranks 3-1 diamond.
Deck selection: Play whatever you think is fun. But if you want to win more, at least see if you can use the available resources to find the good versions of your lists.

I am sure you are all eager to hear an update on the hot crumpet topic in my life.
I have taken your advice, bought a six pack of Warburtons crumpets in a local ASDA and as excited as I was, took them home to further examine and investigate what you have all reported back. I have made the wife aware that I will be buying crumpets and she can participate in the guinea pig experiment if she wants. She said yes, but I need to test them first.
So I have pre heated the trusty old air fryer (no toaster in this household - criminal, I know!) and put the very first one in. The feel on my fingers wasn't great as it is quite floppy and not too appealing. However after a couple minutes in the air fryer it got the bottom crisp, so I have added some grated cheddar on top and put it back in for the cheese to melt.
AND OH MY DAYS WAS I FOR A SURPRISE! I had this very first crumpet after my dinner just with cheese. Someone said under my original post that they do mini pizzas for their kids with tomato paste and cheese - got to try that one as well. However the true value of crumpets emerged on the next day. I have decided to give another two a go - this time as the majority of you lovely peeps suggested with butter and the second one with a sweet condiment. I can confirm that crumpets are indeed the ultimate snack and I cannot wait to have my first set with a full English.
Now question is - are they truly an all day food? Give me your ideas on what do you have them with apart of the popular ones - butter, cheese, marmite, jam.
And also if I would ask my local cafe for a full English with crumpets instead of toast would I not look suspicious?

During a recent post I was in the comments on TrueChristian doing my thing defending the Catholic position regarding the council of Trent. I thought my exchange with one user would be informative enough in it’s own right to be the subject of it’s own post. This is by NO MEANS exhaustive in it’s content. My intent is only for it to serve as a starting point for those who wish to be more informed about the statements made by this council. So here it is.

Yes, we do reject many of Luther’s ideas.

Canon 9. If anyone says that the sinner is justified by faith alone, meaning that nothing else is required to cooperate in order to obtain the grace of justification, and that it is not in any way necessary that he be prepared and disposed by the action of his own will, let him be anathema.

This is supported by [James 2:24] and [Romans 2:13]. It is also an indictment of Luther’s position that prior to salvation man does not have Free Will.
Luther writes in his “On The Bondage Of Will”(1525):
”For if man has lost his freedom, and is forced to serve sin, and cannot will good, what conclusion can more justly be drawn concerning him, than that he sins and wills evil necessarily?" Martin Luther BW pg. 149
This is heretical because Moses says:
[Deuteronomy 30:19]
“This day I call the heavens and the earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live “
The Catholic Church’s teaching at Trent was that Moses was not inviting them to do that which they could not do(i.e; obey God) by means of their will, which meant that their will was truly free.
The wording about needing to be ”prepared” beforehand is a reference to the Council of Orange[529AD] which said that God provides “stimulating graces” which prepares the will for cooperation with justification, freeing it so that man may then choose to do what is good.
Luther did not only assert that man is justified by faith alone, he also denied these “stimulating” graces talked about at the Council of Orange—hence why he denied Free Will. A denial of these preparatory graces was, to the council of Trent, a denial of Our Lord’s own testimony:
[John 3:8]
”The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit.”
As extra reading, St.Thomas Aquinas cites these verses to established these “stimulating” graces[1 Cor 12: 4-12].
If you didn’t know that before reading canon 9 you would be lost at this point. Now why was the Council of Orange teaching about “stimulating” graces in the first place?

Canon 14. If anyone says that man is absolved from his sins and justified because he firmly believes that he is absolved and justified, or that no one is truly justified except him who believes himself justified, and that by this faith alone absolution and justification are effected, let him be anathema.

Trent included canon#14 because the scriptures teach that the apostles(and by extension their successors) are the ”ministers of reconciliation”[2 Cor.5:18]. They exercise their apostolic authority to forgive sins through the administration of the sacraments of baptism[Acts 22:12] and sacramental confession[John 20:23]. One may not unilaterally declare that on account of the fact that they “believe” that one has obtained the remission of sins. It is not “through faith alone” that one has the remission of sins, but rather through the authority of Christ, which he has invested in His Church.

Canon 24. If anyone says that justice received is not preserved and also not increased before God through good works, but that those works are merely fruits and signs of justification obtained, not the cause of its increase, let him be anathema.

This is being taught because it is supported by [2 Corinthians 3:18] which says:
“And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate[note: ‘to contemplate’ is a ‘good work’] the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory,[aka: Justice is increasing] which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.”
The reformers denied that your justification can increase AFTER you have been saved. The above passage clearly denies that idea so yes, they rejected sola fide. They had no choice.

Canon 30. If anyone say that after the reception of the grace of justification the guilt is so remitted and the debt of eternal punishment so blotted out ... that no debt of temporal punishment remains to be discharged ... before the gates of heaven can be opened, let him be anathema.

Temporal punishment for sin was not expiated by the atonement, that’s why we are all going to grow old and die someday. Natural death is a “temporary” punishment, or curse, which was placed on Adam and Eve. Each sin has a temporal punishment associated with it, and man’s need to atone for his sin is supported in various sways across several passages:

“Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins.

Furthermore, we see this evidence in the OT as well.
David repents of his sin and acknowledges his sin merited death[2 Samuel 12:5].
Then Nathan says, “The Lord also has taken away your sin; you shall not die” [12:13].
But this did not negate punishment:
“Nevertheless, because by this deed you have utterly scorned the Lord, the child that is born to you shall die” [12:14].
IN CONCLUSION

I’ve never heard anybody talk about this but why is whenever I take acid. (Any dose)

I get that overwhelming feeling of not knowing what my senses are actually chronologically feeling right now. Its like all my 5 senses are out of chronological order and I feel the things I do from the future in the past and vice versa. Like my legs feel like they’re walking when in reality im sitting on a bench outside while drinking but my mouth feels like im eating chocolate on top of all that I feel room temperature as if im inside. And on top of all that I feel naked and feel that im pissing myself even though im not. Also when I come from outside inside the house and sit down I still think that im outside because I can hear the birds the wind and my own steps as if I would walk outside right now. And I actually get convinced that im actually somewhere else and not inside the house.
This often results in me getting very confused because I never know what sense to trust at the exact time and not really know where really I am at the moment.
It’s almost like my senses are traveling back and fourth between time. I literally feel like my senses are inside of a mixer. This sounds quirky but I also feel multiplied as if there are different consciousnesses or different versions of myself that im feeling at the same time.
I also smell shapes everytime I trip. Bad and unpleasant smells feel more angular and edgy. Where sweet and pleasant smells have nice colors and feel round and more symmetrical. Words would also have colors and smells. But I know that this is called synthesthesia.
I couldn’t eat some foods because they tasted too angular and sharp to me. Fish would taste so symmetrical and edgy where strawberries tasted like thorny triangles. Food really wasn’t enjoyable because it tasted different and not right.
Water tastes like a circle or a ball xd
People also look like aliens to me their eyes pierce through my soul and their eyes look so empty almost as if they’re objects. I could also see the veins in their faces and skin. They looked too mechanical, uncanny and unsettling to me. Like robots/puppets.

Throughout the years, a bad relationship with food has been a constant in my life (20,F) . There were times I lost too much weight but now I can't stop eating at night and binging.
It started in January and since then it happens almost on a daily basis. It was also when I started dating a narcisist (23,M) just until last month. He cheated on me and básicamente destroyed my self esteem, worsened my eating disorder and my depression.
I try to be positive but it gets harder and harder and I can't see an end for this torture. Today I weighed 52,5kg at 160cm which means overall I have gained almost 5kg. Clothes don't feel and I feel like the most ugly and fat person in the world.
I am seeing my therapist on Monday for the second time and I will confess him and talk about this about as much as possible. Today is my third day in Prozac and it makes me feel tired and my binges are worst. I'll try to feel hopeful and wait for best things to happen.
I am starting to write in here to say if opening up is going to be helpful. So, please if any of you can comment on this, it will help me feel less oonely by hearing your similar experiences or any helpful times.

I suddenly developed GERD a few weeks ago, around the time I quit vaping nicotine. Not sure if I went through some sort of dramatic withdrawal, but now I have either GERD or LPR. I can feel acid/food move up and down my throat/esophagus, I have an excessive amount of burping (of which don't feel like normal burps... it feels only like swallowed air and there are usually mini burps right after), and I even regurgitated/coughed up undigested lettuce and had some heartburn when it was at it's worst. I've finished half a thing of tums within the span of ~1.5 weeks.
After researching, I cut out acidic things such as pizza and stopped eating antacids every time I felt it. My symptoms are about half as severe today.
I'm not sure what to do going forward. I talked to a doctor last week and they have me starting on a PPI tomorrow for about a month. What can I do to (hopefully) make this a temporary condition? My symptoms are no where near as severe as others in the sub but I do have bad health anxiety and want to resolve this ASAP if possible. I'm guessing I damaged something in my esophagus because of something related to smoking nicotine/weed and that's what is making acid flow up. Is it possible that I can heal my esophagus before this becomes a big problem in my life?
Also, if anyone knows, should I be taking my adhd meds (adderall IR) with my PPIs (pantoprazole 40 mg)?

She told me last night that she can't take it anymore, that she's tired and feels like she's stuck in an infinite loop, and she told me she was feeling very suicidal I quote "I don't want to keep living anymore, not like this".
I(m27) tried my best to pep talk her into feeling better, like i've done before because this has been a long time progressive thing, but today she just told me this.. Yes, i've sent her a bit of financial support sometimes but we both know she can't rely on me for that.. I myself don't make that much money so I help her only when I really can..
Also yes, i've thought about the possibility of bringing her here, it's just that I really don't have that much income to help her that way, I swear if I had the money and the space I'd buy her a plane ticket right now, But I myself been living paycheck to paycheck and I rent a very small appartment i'm not struggling but I have just enough to live in peace.. And how would she stay and find a stable job right away without papers? Marry her? I'm thinking crazy right now, I just don't know what to do and it breaks my heart, .. TLDR: My legal representation for my Social Security disability application did such a poor job representing me, or even understanding what they’re trying to help me with, that I was denied at the hearing level. This is very, very bad, and I need a new lawyer ASAP.
More details:
I have tried three separate times (separate applications) in KS to apply for disability. The first 2-3 times I was too ill to meet any deadlines and my application was denied by default. I have been trying since 2015.
This most recent attempt, I finally had some help from my partner to meet the deadlines I had missed before. My application was still denied on the grounds that my “hands still work.”
I could not keep up with the appeals process and hired legal representation. It has been utter chaos ever since.
My appeal was denied, this time because I am sick but “not sick enough,” so I requested a hearing in front of a judge.
My legal representation was part of some merger and changed their company name. The disorganization only increased from there on. I have never been allowed to speak to the person whose name is on my paperwork as my lawyer, in spite of requesting many times. Over the past two years or so, I barely heard from them. When I contacted them myself, I’ve never spoken to the same person, rarely does someone know what is going on with my case, and no one was able to tell me who would actually be representing me—until 2 weeks before the hearing. At some point along the way, I was going to fire them and find someone else, but didn’t have the health to deal with that given they would probably fight over the fee.
This person did not contact me about my hearing until 2pm the afternoon before my 830 am hearing with a judge. I missed the call and when I returned it an hour later, we were able to speak. I’m still not sure if that was a good thing.
My legal rep is not a lawyer, just an authorized rep who works for the lawyer that no one will let me speak to. He made no effort to learn, on his own or ahead of time by communicating with me, what my limitations are. Therefore he was not aware that expecting to talk to me on the phone for about an hour was going to make me horribly ill.
I informed him of this but he insisted the judge should see what I’m like when I’m really badly sick. I got sick during the conversation and he did not understand that continuing to talk was making things worse, even after I told him.
He asked me tons of questions, and told me he and the judge would be asking me these things and similar during the hearing. We also discussed the last date I was able to work.
I was so sick from that phone call that I had to take emergency medications to avoid the emergency room that night.
The next morning for my hearing, I was so sick and medicated that I couldn’t think or hardly make sense. The trouble with my illness is, it’s invisible. I don’t look sick, I look stupid and lazy.
My hearing was virtual and I was lying in bed in my pajamas. I insisted on having my partner present for emotional support, but he was not able to help me when I was floundering from my neurological disorder disrupting my communication abilities.
The legal rep told the judge a date for last date of work that was years later than we had agreed on the day before. In my medicated stupor, I agreed with him because I was afraid to argue in front of the judge.
My legal rep also asked me about 10% of the questions he told me was going to, and then gave me the open floor. I was too sick to think and didn’t advocate well for myself at all. That’s what I thought I was paying him to do for me, since I can’t.
I received no follow up about the hearing from my rep.
I was just denied again. I have ONE more opportunity to appeal, and they do not have to grant me one.
If I do not find a better lawyer and a way to fire this team of incompetency, I am going to be denied that too.
I am open to advocacy organizations of any kind, but at this point am considering signing over a power of attorney to a family member and giving up. I cannot continue to fight in a system designed for well people. I’m not even convinced I will survive the next three years of this illness.
Side note, my disease is listed on their “fast track” system called compassionate allowance, or something to that effect. They’ll speed up their decision for you but it won’t affect their decision. My legal rep never put me on this list so I’ve only just now learned about it and have been waiting almost two years for this hearing I just bombed.
I am absolutely desperate for help with how to fire, rehire, and how to find someone who can do their job.
I am 90% bedridden, 100% homebound, and can’t even bathe myself. I sleep about 20 hours a day. Any exertion or external stimuli makes me sicker, sometimes permanently. There is absolutely no reason I should have been denied in a hearing with a judge, period.

I moved a couple of years from Belgium, where we used both gas and electricity. For an average one family house, we used about 2500 KwH per year and 900 m3 of gas, which costed roughly 120 euro per month (period 2012-2019). This was almost the exact average of a 4 person household.
Fast forward, I live in a villa in Sweden and we use around 10.000 KwH per year. We currently have a 3 year electricity contract (this is normal in other countries, a variable rate basically means you have no control over your finances and this gives you financial stress), and including the grid provider, our average monthly cost in 2022 was 1.400 sek, meaning it's even cheaper than in Belgium pre-price-crisis. We also have a spa and swimming pool we heat quite a lot and we expected the prices to increase much and much more. Therefore I am a bit confused why a lot of people are complaining about the current electricity rates, since it is still well below the European average. Especially taking the financial support from the government into account, our monthly costs were a bit above 1.200 SEK per month.
Of course I looked into the historical electricity rate, but I am just curious if the current situation (or at least the last months) is seen as very high. Curious to see your answers, especially from people who are from other countries and are already used to this price level.

This is unpopular opinion for sure because the more big cities I visit, there are literally more people in queues than out of it. I just don't understand it. Standing in line for hours and hours for some attraction or food doesn't seem reasonable to me (doesn't apply to 10-20min queues) and holy damn I can't imagine going to Paris and spend most of my time waiting in lines on the sun and then even paying for it. I'd rather stay home. Apparently many people love to wait anyway. So here it goes.

Probably no one else spent time watching Christian music videos in the early 2000s, but figured might as well give it a shot.
