2023.06.04 23:16 OverClokx Upgrade Pathing and Next Steps for Plex Server Setup

Hi folks of PleX,
I'm looking to upgrade both the storage array and machine running Plex due to a variety of reasons. I'll cover below what I'm running, and the long-term goals of the setup, mixed with what my potential outcomes are and some questions i have.
Any/all help, guidance, criticism, or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Current Configuration:
Lenovo Mini PC - i7 6700T, 16GB of RAM, 128GB SSD, Windows 10, Plex Pass. Sabrent 4-drive Array, 2x 12TB Seagate Ironwolf, 2x 8TB Seagate Ironwolf (40TB cumulative). Gigabit Fiber via Ethernet. BackBlaze on entire Plex server including storage array. All content is managed manually, without any plugins as to keep things simple.
Current Use:
Direct Streams locally, including 4k HDR to AppleTV 4k's and Apple/PC local devices via Ethernet and WiFi. External streams (including transcode) for up to 6x simultaneous streams at max of 1080p.
Upgrade/Change Goals:
Note: Cost is 'not an issue'. Performance to relative Efficiency is important to me.
Increase current base C:/ for Plex database as the current 128gb SSD is nearing capacity to at least 512gb. Requirement of new machine (if needed) is that it can run 'headless' - without a monitor and via RDP/CRD/etc. Improve current performance for transcoding by upgrading to a QuickSync-enabled CPU (if applicable). Increase array size 100TB by adding a 5-drive Sabrent external array with 5x 20TB Seagate Ironwolf drives - current array is 98% full and needing expansion. Merge 'current' library into new library using 5x 20TB drives as default and then existing as overflow. Reduce power consumption and temperatures/wear and tear on devices. Future-proofing by increasing RAM up to 32gb. Optional - 10gb NIC-enabled computer for local network transfers to array.
Questions:
Is the i7 6700T sufficient enough for my needs to justify simply upgrading the SSD in the current Mini PC instead of overhauling to a QuickSync enabled CPU for my current use-case?
I've read that moving to a Mac Mini would mean issues writing to NTFS meaning that I would need to purchase the new array listed above, configure it for a Mac, migrate the Plex database, then migrate the files from the NTFS drives to the new Mac-formatted drives, then reformat the existing drives to Mac-compliant format - is this correct? This seems like a *LOT* of legwork for a bit of power efficiency and I'm questioning if this makes this idea less plausible.
If moving to a Mac Mini makes the most sense, does the M2 Pro or even the upcoming M2 Max/M2 Ultra on a Mac Studio provide any benefit in performance over an M1/M2?
Does it simply make more sense to just purchase a Windows MicroPC (such as Beelink/etc) with a QuickSync enabled CPU to increase efficiency due to the potential of complexity with a Mac-run Plex server?
Thanks in advance for any/all insight!

Really liked the jacket because it reminds me of my OG Puscifer Jacket I only wear on special occasions now.... Got the hat as well... Posted a picture of the Puscifer Jacket at the end. The quality of the Puscifer one is better tbh, but that's kinda too be expected, especially when I got it.

2023.06.04 20:15 Dry_Acanthaceae6901 [Question] How can I get 5G UWB without upgrading iOS?

I have an iPhone 13 Pro running iOS 15.0. I was wondering if it’s possible to get access to Verizon’s 5G ultra wideband without having to upgrade to latest iOS. According to this page, I have to be on iOS 15.2 or later. I have already upgraded my broadband to the Verizon carrier bundle (Verizon 50.0) from iOS 15.4.1’s ipsw, and that didn’t fix it. I don’t think it’s a coverage issue as my friend has an iPhone 14 PM and she has UWB in the same spots I don’t.
EDIT: I’m using eSIM if that makes any difference. I also have the physical sim but it’s not installed in the phone.
Any help greatly appreciated.

2023.06.04 15:50 Unfek Saying hoodbye to my S20FE 5G

My phone was from Brazil, in my hole life experiences with smarthphones Android, the Samsung S20FE 5G was one of the bests, really. The only problem for me is the slow charge time.
Snapdragon CPU; IP68; Excelent Screen; Great Size on hands; Speakers are good to; Samsung DEX; Interface system of Samsung One UI 5.1 have a better use compare the time of Galaxy S2, S3 nad ever Note 2.
I was change it to Poco x5, and after 7 days, i trade it for OnePlus 9 5G (Snapdrgon 888 24RAM/256ROM+ 0-100% 39min Q.C)
I had the dream to have a One+ Smartphone and is really feels good. Maybe in the future i back to S23 Ultra or OnePlus 11 / 12*.
Thx for the share of exepriences on this sub, i appreciate it.

FULLY MATHEMATICALLY OPTIMIZED Assault Rifles for the Ultra-Mastery Grind! (1000 Kills with Every Weapon)

Grandmaster Emblem & Calling Card.

Welcome, future Grandmasters!

Whether you're on the Grandmaster / Ultra-Mastery Grind for the coveted Calling Card, Emblem, and Charm, a Shipment 24/7 aficionado, or just looking for some high-powered ultra-mobility setups, I hope you find the builds presented in this post helpful! They are crafted to my personal specifications to be the pound-for-pound, stat-for-stat, mathematically best possible builds for Shipment 24/7 to assist those on the Ultra-Mastery grind.

For the uninformed - What is Ultra-Mastery?

The Weapon Grandmaster or Ultra-Mastery grind is a reward for scoring 1000 kills with 51 weapons. This is not a very widely-earned achievement, but from what I have been able to hear, it is any 51 weapons (just like Polyatomic & Orion) - not the base 51 weapons (which would force you to include the dreaded Riot Shield and Launchers). Obviously, Shipment 24/7 is the path of least resistance, so it makes sense to optimize excellent builds to assist with 1000 kills each.

Attachment & Stat Priority Overview

A very basic TL;DR of the stat priority for Shipment is ADS > Strafe > everything else. Maximize ADS and movement speed (and thus, strafe), with as large of a magazine as possible, and by cleverly utilizing newly buffed big mags and mobility barrels, craft snappy, high-mobility, high-capacity powerhouses that move fast without excessive recoil.
The first thing you might notice about these optimized builds is that I don't actually use the No Stock attachment on any AR build; this is because despite the mobility boon, the recoil and first-shot kick penalties are far too extreme, even for Shipment. In short, in their current state, No Stock attachments are effectively useless (certain exceptions apply). If you're ever trying to knock someone off from headglitching a crate, the first-shot kick and visual recoil is going to obfuscate your own aim, no matter how much you humanly compensate for recoil.
To properly counter the No Stock penalties and get the weapon into a controllable state, you have to essentially stack recoil attachments, and by the time you do, you have no room for that extended magazine and your mobility numbers end up being worse with No Stock than the possible mobility combinations without it. At least, if you want something firing smoothly and clearly enough to knock people off mounted crate headies in Shipment.
The builds I present pervasively use mobility barrels, strafe stocks (carefully selected between Strafe/Sprint and full mobility options that harm recoil), Corio Laz Lasers (same ADS as FSS OLE-V, without the S2F bonus), Recoil Control Rear Grips, and extended magazines. While I outfitted every build with the intermediate option, 40/45-round extended magazines, all of these builds maintain strong mobility with maximum 60-round capacity magazines. The idea is to extract as much ADS and movement/strafe speed as humanly possible while countering the recoil with as little hand-holding as possible, placing the onus of recoil control in your hands. However, these builds have more than manageable recoil - I think you'll be quite surprised how quickly they can handle with how little recoil they have!
A particular ace attachment is the generic +Recoil Control Rear Grip. It has many names across many guns, but it provides an impressive amount of recoil reduction with absolutely no penalty to ADS. Aiming Idle Stability, despite being one of the most important stats in the game, is almost wholly unimportant on Shipment, considering that the sway (which is active while firing, contradicting 'idle') has little chance to knock you off target in your frequent short-range encounters. In the same vein, Recoil Stabilization takes a backseat as stable plots aren't necessarily needed when targets are so close.

It's a Good Time to Mention: the Best Ways to Control Recoil

If you missed it, I included a pretty detailed writeup on the best ways to control recoil - all in a clever series of settings that make an absolute world of difference. Section 3 of my Polyatomic & Orion guide - if you don't have these settings enabled, you'll be playing a different (and better) game soon.

Fully Optimized Assault Rifles for Shipment

If you're using Old Reddit, you may not see these pictures embedded. You should be able to click the links. All builds feature advanced stats, optimized directly from Symthic, including ADS, S2F, TTK, Range, Strafe, and TacSprint Speed!

M4A1

[Image] M4A1 optimized build for Shipment with advanced stats.
The classic M4A1. Good all around. Excellent mobility and best-in-class strafe speed.

Taq-56

[Image] Taq-56 optimized build for Shipment with advanced stats.
My personal favorite. The expected Taq mobility and pinpoint accuracy mixed with a mobility blend. Flash Hider added for minimal recoil control incurring a tiny ADS penalty to clear up the firing conditions. Just .08ms shy of the fastest fully-automatic TTK - a testament to its lethality.

Kastov 762

[Image] Kastov 762 optimized build for Shipment with advanced stats.
The Kastov 762 is difficult to save considering its bulky profile, but the barrel helps it come a long way. It almost starts to feel like an SMG, surprisingly enough. This will have one of the more intense recoil models.

Lachmann-556

[Image] Lachmann-556 optimized build for Shipment with advanced stats.
The newly buffed Lachmann-556 can now shred the entirety of Shipment in its native damage range while maintaining the signature easy, smooth recoil. Fastest movement speed in class, but low damage.

STB 556

[Image] STB 556 optimized build for Shipment with advanced stats.
A classic powerhouse with plenty of DPS and slaying power despite the unimpressive TTK, with unfortunately limited options in the mobility department; Strafe speed is below average and lowest in the class, but thankfully, the STB is a naturally fast-handling weapon.

M16

[Image] M16 optimized build for Shipment with advanced stats.
The obvious weakling and the only build to not feature an extended magazine. Everything is focused into tightening the consistency of the one-burst, and mobility is an afterthought.

Kastov-74u

[Image] Kastov-74u optimized build for Shipment with advanced stats.
The fan-favorite ASMG that will live up to your every expectation. Be as aggressive as you want, this 74u packs the speed and damage to keep up. Second-fastest ADS, and tied for fastest fully-automatic TTK with the Kastov 545. Third-fastest movement speed.

Kastov 545

[Image] Kastov 545 optimized build for Shipment with advanced stats.
An ultra-smooth recoil pattern complemented by extremely fast strafe. Unexpectedly amazing, especially with 60 rounds. Tied for fastest fully-automatic TTK with the Kastov-74u.

M13B

[Image] M13B optimized build for Shipment with advanced stats.
The M13 you remember from MW19. Lower damage, but fast mobility - and this one goes very fast. Randomly pleasing 1-2-3 cascade of timings with ADS/S2F/TTK. Intense recoil, but it's worth the mobility gains. Fastest ADS, second-fastest movement speed, and just .02m/s shy of fastest strafe speed.

Chimera

[Image] Chimera optimized build for Shipment with advanced stats.
Despite looking like a cookie-cutter build, this build took me a long time to find, and it still sucks! Unfortunately, the Chimera simply isn't good at anything, and I think this is about as good as you can get.

ISO Hemlock

[Image] ISO Hemlock optimized build for Shipment with advanced stats.
If only the Ironsights were better, I'd love to include the classic Recoil Control Rear Grip. Nonetheless, recoil is extremely manageable and movement is swift.

And there we have it!

I really hope you enjoy some of these builds. Despite following a similar formula, I paid very close attention to the stat weights of each individual attachment, considering the impact of diminishing returns and adjusting Tuning as such. You should find that they go much faster than advertised thanks to Tuning, so make sure to turn those dials to 11.

Let me know which build is your favorite, or which build(s) you liked! Yes, more fully optimized Shipment 24/7 loadouts are coming soon - SMGs next.

2023.06.04 14:18 p1mm3l S22 Ultra Battery Drainage

So whenever I'm going through the Opinions page on GSMArena's S22 Ultra webpage (see: https://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_galaxy_s22_ultra_5g-reviews-11251.php) I almost always see people complaining about some sort of battery drainage issue.
I have been experiencing a very similar issue myself. I can quite literally use my phone for about 1 to 3 minutes and lose 1% of total charge which seems very, very strange for a phone that has a 5000mAh battery. My year and a half old Galaxy A52s has about 1,5 to 2x the battery life of this phone.
I have wiped the cache partition and cleared the cache on the Samsung Keyboard app (even though I use Gboard and have for years) and I've tried using the *#9900# code on the dialer and reset the battery stats with a reboot. None of these alleged solutions have been able to resolve the worrying battery drain issue I've been facing.

2023.06.04 04:34 Flying_Baws Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra Comparison help/link

Hello,
I have a Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G, and recently had to get a replacement through my insurance. The model they sent me is slightly different, and I need help figuring out the difference between the following model numbers:
SM-G998U (replacement) vs SM-G998U1 (original phone)
What is the difference between these phones, specifically the band options for international travel. (I am in the US and use T-Mobile as my carrier. I originally purchased my phone directly from Samsung)
I wasn't able to find a good link to find the band data, but if you find one please post it below.
Thanks for your help!

First grow first time putting together my own soil
I'm currently using Michigan mix rainwater and jlf. In the next month or two I will transplant to either 20 or 25 gallons pots. I'm looking for the simplest cheapest fool proof recipe that has worked when out to the test. Im very new to all this but want my plants to be grown organicly outdoor as personal preference. Truly appreciate if anyone can start me in the right direction do you just start off with cheap garden soil or do i need to use something like roots organics and then add my own powder amended nutes?

2023.06.04 01:04 Ciggy_Ash Best T Mobile Setup

Hey there, I moved to the country to help family and the only viable option I've found is T Mobile Home.
On the coverage map I'm in a 5G area, half a mile away from 5G Ultra capacity sites. Near towers however there are a ton of trees, so my signal is between 2 to 3 bars. My unit is the latest FAST Sagecom.
My download average is 2 Mbps, high is 20 Mbps Upload average is .5 Mbps, high 1.5 Mbps Ping 464
I've seen some people talk about removing their SIM and putting it in a third party modem
I've seen most talk about opening their unit and installing an external antenna.
I'm fairly tech illiterate but can follow guides to install the antennas/swap the SIM if need be, before sinking money experimenting I was curious what all I could do to improve my speeds and lower my ping, if you have personal stories experimenting with your own solutions I'd also love to hear them
Thank you!
