2023.06.08 17:16 bxgang Dropping A Anime Did Wonders For Cyberpunk 2077s Reputation And Playerbase, Should More Games Come With A Anime

Cyberpunks launch was a shitstorm and PR disaster putting them in everyones crosshairs. It Became used as "what not to do" reference example and meme in the gaming community. By the time they decently fixed the game and the ps5/xsx versions were genuinely good, the reputation didnt just go away. But then Cyberpunk Edgerunners came out and was really good, good enough to be considered a must watch anime and definitely a must watch to everyone that already has and uses netflix. Suddenly everyone was talking about and getting into cyberpunk again, and it skyrocketed in the steamcharts as the number 1 most played game for the week after the anime came out overtaking call of duty and elden ring at the time. Should more games come out with a really good, gory adult rated anime and throw a decent romance in? 2023.06.08 12:15 ValiantTrooper_ Server status?

Server status?
Are the servers down? The game main menu says that the Carribean server is in maintenance. However, Steamcharts says that there is like 180+ playing.
Is this only for a specific region (EU, NA, ASIA, etc.)? If so, how do I change my region?

2023.06.07 16:11 csgoskins_gg [D] CS:GO Market Traffic Drops by 17% in May 2023 After CS2 Hype Cools Down

Without any exceptions, all CS:GO markets experienced a traffic decrease in May 2023, an effect of the cooldown after the CS2 hype. This was expected, as outlined in my previous post.
Overall, traffic decreased by 17.14% - from 44,345,700 visits in April down to 36,745,000 visits in May.
Here are the numbers:
Market April May Growth
BUFF163 7,900,000 6,600,000 -16.46%
Skinport 7,100,000 6,300,000 -11.27%
CS.MONEY 5,700,000 4,900,000 -14.04%
DMarket 5,500,000 4,900,000 -10.91%
Market CSGO 3,400,000 2,600,000 -23.53%
CSGOFloat 2,600,000 2,500,000 -3.85%
Tradeit.gg 2,400,000 1,800,000 -25.00%
Lis Skins 1,800,000 1,600,000 -11.11%
SkinBaron 1,800,000 1,200,000 -33.33%
BitSkins 1,400,000 1,000,000 -28.57%
BUFF Market 1,100,000 806,300 -26.70%
Skinwallet 625,400 445,700 -28.73%
GamerPay 774,000 440,500 -43.09%
Mannco.store 407,600 330,100 -19.01%
ShadowPay 485,000 324,800 -33.03%
CS.DEALS 404,900 323,600 -20.08%
WAXPEER 354,700 260,200 -26.64%
SWAP.GG 299,700 241,000 -19.59%
SkinBid 294,400 172,800 -41.30%
Total 44,345,700 36,745,000 -17.14%
In comparison, here are the CS:GO player numbers according to Steam Charts:
April May Growth
918,085 1,117,517 21.72%
Active players increased by 21%, even though the traffic of CS:GO markets decreased by 17%. This may sound unintuitive at first but makes more sense once we look at the traffic numbers vs. active player numbers from the previous months.
In March, market traffic increased by 53% while active players only increased by 5%. And in April, traffic increased by 44% while active players only increased by 9%. The CS2 hype lead huge amounts of existing players to buy up all the skins they could afford, thus increasing prices and market traffic tremendously. Now, even though we have increasing player numbers, they are not enough to keep up market traffic and skin prices at previous levels.
Prediction: According to traffic numbers currently seen on CSGOSKINS.GG, I expect the traffic in June to decrease again compared to the May numbers.

2023.06.06 22:34 soyoucheckusernames Is steamcharts accurate? Do People still play Street Fighter IV?

Ive looked up MK9 and it says there are around 60 players online, but when I go in game, there are none which I can find. Are the steamchart number accurate?
I wanted to buy SFIV and play some rounds before IV completely dies, but do people play IV? Steamcharts says there are 150 players online, but MK9 showed me different

2023.06.06 20:44 mafangulo Why do you think players count keeps dropping?

Noticed waiting queue times are longer than before and players count keeps dropping considerably. No idea was meant to be "no idea / other reasons".
/EDIT: Just for the record, I love the game. Paragon used to be the only MOBA I liked so much to keep playing it consistently. I just don't wanna see this one die as well cos it's real good.
I agree with the lack of active ads, many people don't know it, most of current players are from Paragon community. On the other hand, I understand it's probably just a small team so keeping up with updates, port to console, there's a lot at stake and it may not be easy.
IMHO, what makes the game not fun at all (even makes me hate it, same thing happened to me on Paragon but not so much) is toxic and "don't give a fuck" players ie not pinging, not rotating, not doing objectives, AFKs, etc.

2023.06.05 13:11 Flacki Need help with Build - can Parts be improved and does everything work like this?

https://geizhals.de/wishlists/3202285
edit: https://de.pcpartpicker.com/list/kMZnZw

CPU i9-13900K, 8C+16c/32T, 3.00-5.80GHz
AIO DeepCool LS720
MoBo ASRock Z790 PG Lightning
Storage x2 Western Digital WD_BLACK SN850X NVMe SSD 2TB, M.2
RAM G.Skill Trident Z5 NEO RGB schwarz DIMM Kit 64GB, DDR5-6000, CL30-40-40-96
GPU GIGABYTE GeForce RTX 4090 Gaming OC 24G
PSU be quiet! Dark Power 13 1000W ATX 3.0
Case Lian Li LANCOOL III RGB Black

Currently looking for Feedback on the above build draft.
I'm trying to cut down the cost some and need feedback on various parts please.
Would everything be ok, or are there any bottlenecks / incompatibilities, some obvious choices for different parts due to much better cost/performance maybe?

PC will be used for programming / dev work and gaming. Games are varied alot but i don't play any FPS heavy games like shooters or such. MMOs, retro style games, Steamcharts pretty much up and down... would like to see Cyberpunk with nice graphics and still good perfromance.

Currently just one 27" 60Hz monitor, but i would want to upgrade later this year to something more uptodate and ~144Hz. In total i would like to run two 27" monitors. The GPU should handle this.
I will need performance for VMs and editing videos.

At first i wanted a budget around 3k, currently i'm sitting 3,8k. So far it is ok'ish, but if i could get the cost down some more it would be nicer.
The SSD is twice, because i don't want to take apart everything again just to upgrade my storage later on. Do they fit on this board tho and is extra cooling for them needed? I read these could run hotter.

I'm unsure about the necessity for the i9. Could the i7 be sufficient maybe?
The heat output is also a concern, will the AIO be sufficient for the i9? Could i get an Air Cooler for the i9 / i7?
Onboard iGPU is needed just in case the GPU has issues.

Do i overpay currently with an i9 and an i7 would be enough?

Does the motherboard and RAM fit, did i choose the correct CL?

AIO and RAM space is a concern for me, as i want to upgrade to 64GB later on, but i have seen a lot of builds, where the AIO cables have been blocking the closest RAM slot or at least severly intruding onto it and hindering the placement / seating of the stick.
Is there anything i can pay attention to, to avoid this issue? Some AIOs seem to have a certain / only orientation they can be seated on top of an CPU?

The PSU does have the cable for the 4090 already or do i need to get one extra?
Is the the PSU to low, i'd rather have some headspace on it and it running cool and silent.
Do i really need an ATX 3.0 form factor PSU for the 4090?

The case is not fix yet, tho i do like this one, but what would be better for this build, to maybe keep it cooler or better accommodate the parts?
Do i need to get more fans for the case with this setup?

Please, if more informations are needed, ask away.
I'd appreciate every feedback you can give!
Thank you!

2023.06.05 07:07 TrivialBeing Scale of playerbase?

I know Steam Charts exists, but am wary that it likely misses the largest group of players who are on a meta/oculus device. Is there any other information that can help me get a sense of how the number of players (or even total sales) compares between Thrill of the Fight and, for example, a game like Eleven Table Tennis (website claims >1M players). Steam Charts shows the player counts between these games to be relatively similar, but Steam is a limited perspective, and just really want to get a more credible source.
I'm thinking ahead to multiplayer matchmaking in ToTF2. It's currently a great experience in Table Tennis, and wondering if we can expect the same, or whether I should manage my expectations.

2023.06.04 13:58 Dakeu May choice analysis

Ahoy Humble Bundle reddit! It's the end of the choice cycle and time to put the games we played under the magnifying glass and see who performed best!
GOLD: Spiritfarer®: Farewell Edition (+705.5, +133.48%, 155 reviews, 92% positivity) Spiritfarer claims gold as it was most played game of the bundle while still remaining very positive! In the words of players: it is a beautiful game, some even call it the best game of their lives. People enjoy graphics, story, unique game-play.
SILVER: Behind the Frame: The Finest Scenery (+17.0, +361.14%, 217 reviews, 94% positivity) BtF:TFS is the biggest surprise of the bundle as it claims silver, even beating the winner in number of reviews and positivity! Honestly, another game that people describe as beautiful. It was definitely a good decision to pack those two games together. It seems that the game could be longer.
BRONZE: Operation Tango (na/na, 62 reviews, 87% positivity) Operation tango finishes at third place! Positive vibes are from all around the world. People enjoy playing puzzle game together. There is some negativity about playtime, it will get you hooked at 5 hours max.
4. Warhammer 40,000: Chaos Gate - Daemonhunters (na/na,140 reviews, 63% positivity) Warhammer finished lower than expected. One of the reasons might be that the game is from Warhammer universe and people might have some trouble fitting in, as those games don't explore lore. Subscribers like that there is no %hit chance like in X-COM. They dislike tactical options, because the fights seem to be repetitive.
5. Bendy and the Dark Revival (+8.3, +12.39%, 82 reviews, 71% positivity) People think that the horror aspects of the game are well designed. The game features a lot of jump scares, which a lot people dislike, but some like.
6. The Invisible Hand (+11.1, +553.74%, 31 reviews, 77% positivity) Stock trading simulator has found its fans! Not that many, but acceptable numbers for a 7-th slot game. Negativity is from people who would like some more polish to the game.
7. Builder Simulator (+21.4, +39.90%, 47 reviews, 61% positivity) People claim that in game mechanics are better than in sims like Gas Station Simulator. Mixed reviews are about a robot who reminds of claptrap. People complain about lack of freedom when building.
8. Windjammers 2 (+4.8, +218.60%, 38 reviews, 60% positivity) People have fun while they play, the game reminds them about ancient Pong. They complain about difficulty and the learning curve.
So we had only winners this month! On the other hand number of reviews suggest that by selling it was medium month. Do you agree with ranking, or you have different favorite ?
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Copy pasting my methods from previous month - note this is not new content.
new change (7.2022) - games that have negative average player gain on steamcharts.comwill have instead listed n/a. It would be misleading to present negative data, since as its a obvious number of players can't decline as a result of addition to bundle.
  1. Reliability: 1-10/10. Example case of when it's completely reliable from May bundle is Levelhead - it's infinite type of game that hasn't been played a lot before introducing in choice. In games like Levelhead you can trust that most of the gain is from Humble. Example case of when it's completely unreliable is Metro: Exodus. Game has released new enhanced mode, what made players move to enhanced version and the base game players would rise more otherwise. Generally less people play more relevant. Big APG before introducing to choice can result in a natural fluctuations, like new patches and so on.
  2. Value on scoring: if game is reliable then 10/10 - for a lengthy/infinite games 5/10 for short or story based games - reason for infinite games it's just the best measurement of whether it was good inclusion, it's good usage of money when it's spent on a game that is played. Story games we play for one run so they should have less APG, but they should still be in positive numbers.
  3. Known Issues: a) sales in month/before month, if such a thing happen I like to take a look at exactly the launch day of bundle and then approximate the data, you don't see it in review but I do it. b) game pass issues - x-box game pass games tend to have lower APG then expected, but in this case I don't do any bonuses to these games as this post is an analysis on what was played/liked during the month of release. I just mention that it's been/is on game pass.
  1. Reliability 1-10/10: Same story as with APG no need to go deep.
  2. Value on scoring: 4/10 % Gain is of course bigger for indies and worse for triple A or games that has a lot of player-base, it's still a good stat to track since for publishers gaming is business and in business it's all about % Gain - developers of games that had better % Gain are probably more happy than the ones with less.
  3. Known Issues: same with APG.
  1. Reliability 10/10: If it's best you know it's from humble. Especially in dead games.
  2. Value on scoring: 2/10 % It's just some stat tossed there for you, slightly pushing the game higher.
  3. Known Issues: same with APG.
  1. Reliability: 8/10. Good thing about NOS are that their accuracy is pretty much same for all game sin bundle, if you select outside-of-steam-purchases there are some from fanatical some from cdkeys. Technically I could do another work and subtract month before from current one but I have not all time in the world and when I tried it I saw that basically it's not doing anything with rankings.
  2. Value on scoring: 10 for big titles - 8 for indies/10 Indie games are supposed to have less users, they receive less money from Humble so they should perform worse. However it's a race of games so while on paper indies definitely receive less conversion then 10:8 I still favor big titles, Indies have to have at least 81% reviews of bigger titles to be judged better. On the other hand it's double-edged sword if headliner like hellpoint under-perform, it's gonna drop a lot.
  3. Known Issues: a) different stores b) some games may have been reviewed more often (Football Manager is one of the most played game but NOS would say something else)
  1. Reliability: 7/10. Same as with NOS. Little bit less relevant since it seems that user likes to post negative reviews more often than in general. (When you got a random game there is a high chance you'll like it less than if you pick one.)
  2. Value on scoring 7/10: Here I mostly look into whether the positivity is above 85% or below 50%.
  3. Known Issues: a) niche games may have bad general positivity

2023.06.04 11:51 Wapiti_Collector Where are the players ?

As of right right now, Steamcharts shows that the game has about 20 000 players. When opening the server browser using very broad standard PvP settings, there aren't even 10 servers with more than 40 players. Using merciless only settings, there isn't even any server with more than 10 players.
What is going on ? Is the server browser busted ? Am I missing something or is everyone really just standing there with their game open not doing anything ?

So I'm on the server browser, and in total I can count like 400 players more or less. But there is always 1000-2000 players in Steamcharts (Not sure if there is crossplay with EG, but that would increase the number).
Where are the rest of the players?
