I used to spend a lot of time with my family in the Columbus area. My sister and I have been trying to remember a family center that was around in the ‘90s (1997-99 to be specific.)
I’m not sure if it was in the downtown area or in a suburb but I know it was a local standalone and NOT a chain such as Chuck E Cheese, Magic Mountain or Discovery Zone. The carpeting was charcoal-colored and looked similar to the flooring you’d find at a movie theater. The rest of the layout was very white, very bright and very sterile.
The centerpiece was a giant playpen like you would find at some McDonalds at the time and since this was when Cartoon Network was first getting big, I remember cartoon-themed (almost positive they were animals) mascots walking around but I’m pretty sure they were knockoffs; think fake Banana Splits or something like that.
This was not in a strip mall or plaza. Parking and then walking a distance was required. I feel like the building it was in was multi-storied and the other floors had nothing to do with it. Perhaps it was in a mall and there were stairs that took you to other areas. Games wise, it seemed there were more games of chance and ticket-oriented machines than arcade cabinets. It was very much geared for super young kids.
We were coming in from Johnstown so the closer your guess is to that town, the more accurate it probably is. I remember my family loved going into Westerville so that would be a good place to start. I understand that even if someone knows exactly what I’m talking about, it might be a wash since there’s little evidence these pre-recession fun centers existed. I have a couple local joints in southern Ohio that have been completely erased from history.
I know this is vague but any attempt would be appreciated!

In the last few episodes, the guys have mentioned (in box office games) two directors: Monta Bell and Jack Conway.
These are interesting names if you dive deeper into the 20s and 30s. I learned more about Bellt hrough Mick LaSalle's terrific book Complicated Women about pre-code actresses. Conway) made movies into the 40s and was also an actor (and hunk): my favorite movie of his - a masterpiece, I think, is Jean Harlow's Red-Headed Woman, one of the most . I'm also a big fan of his wildcatting buddy flick Boom Town with Gable and Tracy, who were terrific together.
Bell was mostly done as a director in the 30s, but he worked with Garbo, Shearer, and Crawford. I love two of his Norma silents - Lady of the Night and Upstage, which were essential to setting her up for being the biggest actress of the early 30s. (Just in general, watching Norma Shearer in the 20s and 30s is like watching someone a goddess who has somehow been allowed to live amongst mortals for a brief period)
It's an interesting counterpoint to someone like Keaton or Chaplin or later Von Sternberg, Capra, Hawks, or Ford, who are easily classified as auteurs. These guys allowed women to be the auteurs of their movies, and their movies were better for it. I hadn't heard of either of these guys until I dove into pre-code movies, and I'm glad I did. Anyway, just something worth thinking about that I think y'all might appreciate, or some of you might know more about than me.

We will usually catch up on what movies we saw that week and what we generally thought about them. This week he mentioned he saw the new Spider-Man I asked him what he thought. He said he almost fell asleep and that the movie was just a two hour extended cartoon episode. I understand people not liking certain animation and kids films but to me these movies were some of the best animation style I’ve ever seen as well as the touching story. I’m just shocked at the response. For the most part this person and I have similar taste and films and we usually agree on things about movies. Thoughts?

(SPOILERS FOR SPIDERMAN NO WAY HOME AND ACROSS THE SPIDERVERSE!!!)
Hey all,
I, like every other Spiderman fan, was eating great with the new Across the Spiderverse movie. Mostly, my favorite part came in the form of the Canon events. Spiderman is known for its completely different re-imaginings, from the original 80s cartoon, to The Spectacular Spiderman in the 00s, along with Tobey Maguire, Andrew Garfield, and the newest kid, Tom Holland.
I love the Canon events. In every Spiderman rendition I try my hardest to pick out every Canon event, from the spider bite, to uncle Ben's death, to holding up the rubble, even to hanging up the spider suit for a while or using the Venom suit instead. The Canon events show us why Spiderman is timeless; like the first Spiderverse movie said, no matter how many times a spider is knocked down, they get back up.
So, as I was falling asleep, I was revelling in the genius of the Canon events when I looked at Tom Hollands Spiderman. We didn't see too many of his Canon events, did we? We never saw his spider bite. We never saw uncle Ben. The closest thing is the death of his Aunt May. But that doesn't happen in every spiderverse...
No it doesn't, but each and every Spiderverse is different. There are some where Peter Parker never becomes Spiderman, see Spider Gwen. Is it too much to think that Tom Holland's Uncle Ben just wasn't important to his story?
Well let's look at the facts. Every Spiderman doesn't get their official suit until after their Uncles death. See Miles in his costume when Aaron dies, Tobey in his wrestling costume, and The Spectavular Spiderman also in a sort of wrestling outfit. Since Tom Hollands first appearance was in his official suit, then Uncle Ben must have died, right?
If Uncle Ben died, why would Aunt May need to die? It doesn't make sense, until you think about Anamolies. Aunt May died because of the Green Goblin, Norman Osborn, from the Maguire Universe. Tony Stark was the main arms dealer in the MCU, not Norman Osborn.
So, with what we know about Anamolies, then Tom Hollands universe has to be doomed, unless Dr. Stranges mind erase spell stabilized the Web and satisfied Miguel O'Hara.
BUT HEY, THATS JUST A THEORY!

Boy, was I wrong.
To summarize, up until this year I've only ever watched movies from the SW universe. I'm almost ashamed to admit that I started watching reaction videos of the Mandalorian, following the story.
I signed up for Mickey Mouse + for season 3
I watched the 3rd season of the Mandalorian and was really hyped at the announcement of the Ashoka series.
I figured I'd better watch all the relevant animated series to learn about her backround/story
So I went straight to the star wars movies/series timeline they have setup and started with the Clone Wars
Clone Wars: was good but it seemed to have a lot of filler episodes
The Bad Batch: This was epic, I LOVED THIS SERIES
I'm now currently watching Rebels. I realize that although it takes place after the previous 2 series, the animation style/quality (it looks like an animation where as the Bad Batch looked almost live action at times) leads me to believe it was one of the first animated series.
I was not sure if the difference in animation would hinder my enjoyment.
Well (just one example) I just watched Season 3's "Twin Suns" episode last night and just sat there, jaw hanging wide open because of what I had just witnessed (no spoilers)
So yea, I was wrong, way wrong about the cartoons.
And I've never been so happy to be wrong.

So I’m a total newbie to MJ and got a request from my kids that I can’t fulfill. The essential elements are (1) Spider-Man (in full costume), and (2) a Keeshond (type of dog seen here).
I’d like to be able to craft prompts of them doing various things (hugging, playing, etc) in various styles (cartoon, movie poster, etc.)
Problem is, I can’t get both a full-costume Spider-Man and a Keeshond in the same picture. It always draws Spider-Man without his mask (even when prompted for a mask) and never actually draws a Keeshond (always another kind of dog, even though it can do keeshonds by themselves). Sometimes Spider-Man has a dog head. It’s a mess and I’m sure it’s my fault.
Can anyone give me some tips on crafting this prompt? I’m facing a tiny revolution if I can’t make it work.

hi everyone, my girlfriend saw an old movie (i think prior to 2003) which she wants to re-watch with me, but she can't find it anywhere online. she gave me a description which i ran in AI but even that didn't help, so i was hoping one of you could help solve the mystery.
her description of the movie goes as follows:
the movie is either set in Tibet or somewhere else in Asia, a young boy joins a buddhistic monastery/temple, isolates himself for some time on a mountain and has dreams and passions that arise from within him. after a few years he leaves the temple to discover the earthly life, find a girl who he marries and brings kids to the world.
does it ring a bell? let me know.

I miss when marvel movies were more dramatical and had a little of a soap opera. Theres no problem with humor amd quippness. The problem is when such things break inmersion by using them in moments of tension. A good example is Infinity War. I cant stand Bruce Banner, Dr Strange and Iron Man seriously when they are debating about ice creams after Bruce/Hulk was defeated by the final boss of the Saga.
Other examples are Valkyrie, Bruce and Thor quipping while escaping Saakar. It makes no sense to bring out that "Grandmaster does orgies" in his starship". No one asked out for it and is a joke out of context. It also steals tension to the situation the characters are in.
Is kinda sad. You will never see a scene like Bruce and Betty meeting at Pizza shop in The Incredible Hulk. The scene and OSTs shows you that they loved each other a lot before the 5 years Bruce was Hulk. Same applies when Bruce kiss Betty before jumping from the helicopter or when Hulk get close his finger to Betty after defeating Abomination, expressing that he loves her and their love is impossible. Bruce Banner is just a clown now. Specifically after Ragnarok. Bruce spent 5 years on exile as Hulk and was taken as a comic relief. Same applies with Loki, Thor and Odin. You will never watch a scene such as their last scene together in Thor 2011. Loki saying he almost genocide Frost Giants for his father and for them while tearing, then dropping himself suicidical and then Thor crying with a dramatic OST.
I guess thar they changed the tone of the movies because GoG sold more than Thor Dark World despite you have stuff that takes itself seriously and is considered as a pinacle of quality such as Captain America 2 or stuff whose quips and jokes are according to the context are delivered such as first Iron Man movie. The thing is, GoG absurdity is cuz they are aliens while most of the superheroes are in our world and Earth isnt absurd as Space. Is the same Earth as Phase 1 MCU. Thats my actual problem with American media. They think children are idiots and for that reason they add more of this absurdity, humor and quips. Reason of why American cartoons are usually comedy while you rarely see something like Last Airbender, let alone something like Naruto or DBZ.
I think it has something to do of how childish things became. An example is MCU Spiderman vs Raimi's Spiderman. Raimi's Spiderman wanted to take advantage of his powers to get a car and impress Mary Jane before Uncle Ben died. He was thinking with his dick just as many teenagers do. MCU Spiderman just wanted to be an Avenger. Raimi's Spiderman needed someone close to get killed (and his dead somewhat related to Peter's actions) to change his mindset while MCU Spiderman didnt. Raimis Spiderman had to deal with lack of money, issues keeping an stable job, issues at college and losing the girl he secretly loves while MCU Spiderman just wanted vacations despite never seen the fatigue of his superhero life. Same applies with She-Hulk. Yeah, her issues are different from Bruce for purpose. But having characters like Xmen it makes no sense to Disney to explore She-Hulk. A character who suffers more because men harraser and people love her more as a green monster instead a lawyer than Bruce who was exiled 5 years in a thirdworld favela, training to control Hulk, working low wage job despite having 5 PhDs and endessly searching for a cure with limited resources. Theres no point of comparison. MCU Spiderman and She-Hulk are less interesting because they are less dramatic. They have either fantasy or first world problems while Raimi's Spiderman and OG MCU Bruce Banner had real third world problems.

Day 1
This year’s arena was based in a waterfall cave. The usual supplies, weapons, and consumables were included in the cornucopia, and the backpacks were directly by the mouth of the cave.
The waterfall was loud, and when the bell rang, not many tributes heard it. Europa ran forwards and grabbed a backpack, before running away. Freezen also grabbed a backpack after a short pause, and also fled.
Aria grabbed a backpack, and risked grabbing a spear, and saw Benedict doing the same. Both them fled down the cavern tunnels.
Pelopia and Cletus (both 2) performed the usual bloodbath slaying, and they killed the girl from 3, the boy from 6, the girl from 7, Armora (8), the boy from 9, the girl from 10, the boy from 12, and Cabbage (11). Pelopia and Cletus then grabbed their weapons and ran into the cave.
A shocking occurrence happened when Benedict killed both Cletus and Pelopia, leaving the two biggest competitors out of the Games. Benedict also killed Sculpin and Jenny (both 4).
Aria ran until she reached a fork in the path, and she ran left, stopping at the dead end and drinking some of her water.
Freezen also stopped at a dead end, and Europa stopped near a pool of water, and drink thirstily from it.
That night, the portraits of Pelopia and Cletus from 2, the girl from 3, Jenny and Sculpin from 4, the boy from 6, the girl from 7, Armora (8), the boy from 9, the girl from 10, Cabbage (11), and the boy from 12 were shown, leaving twelve tributes left.
Day 2
Aria awoke the next day to a noise next to her, she spun around, clutching a spear, and saw a sponsor gift laying next to her. She opened it to find several sandwiches.
Freezen was sent a note from Luna, and read it to see that he had twelve opponents left.
Europa was sent some bread rolls and water, while Benedict was sent sandwiches as well.
Benedict went to hunt for tributes, and killed Code (3) before being shocked when Noyce (7) threw an ax into his chest. Benedict stared at Noyce with disbelief on his face, before collapsing and dying.
Noyce removed his ax from Benedict’s chest, laughing loudly, before Ayana (11) threw a knife into his chest, saying that he “should have shut up.”
Meanwhile, Tuff (10) killed Toile (8), before heading back to his hiding spot.
That night, the portraits of Benedict from 1, Code from 3, Noyce from 7, and Toile from 8 were shown in the sky, leaving Aria from 1, Europa and Freezen from 5, Kinley from 6, Sabrita from 9, Tuff from 10, Ayana from 11, and Zora from 12 as the top eight. Aria gasped when she saw that Benedict had died.
Day 3
The next morning, an accidental cave in was caused by an assistant Game Maker, and Sabrita and Zora were killed.
Kinley and Freezen were injured by the cave in, and Kinley died an hour later from her injuries, while Freezen’s legs were crushed. Freezen reached for his backpack, retrieving a knife, and as tears rolled down his face, he signed to his siblings that he loved them, before slotting his own throat.
That night, the portraits of Freezen from 5, Kinley from 6, Sabrita from 9, and Zora from 12 were shown in the sky, leaving just Aria, Europa, Tuff, and Ayana.
Day 4
Tuff found and killed Ayana, before seeing some footsteps. He followed them and found Europa, and simply snuck up behind her and snapped her back.
Tuff walked down the tunnels, until he saw Aria, and rushed forward. Aria managed to dodge just in time, and grabbed her spear, slamming it into Tuff’s stomach. Aria removed the spear, and stabbed it into Tuff’s heart.
A final cannon sounded, and sixteen year old Aria Jones of District 1 was announced as the victor of the 18th Hunger Games.
Aftermath
Aria became a popular model, and even acted in some movies. She married a man named Diamond Hilton, and had a son, Jewellus, and two daughters, Kira and Amber. Amber competed in the 49th Games.
Amber took Amethyst’s place as mentor, and was known for doing a much better job, until a new female replaced her.
