2023.03.29 12:17 Possible_Ad5461 Block ($SQ) surges 6.1%: Is this an indication of further gains?
Block ($SQ) shares rallied 6.1% in the last trading session to close at $64.40. This move can be attributable to notable volume with a higher number of shares being traded than in a typical session. This compares to the stock's 21.6% loss over the past four weeks.
Block extended its rally, driven by the recent ratings given by Baird and Keybanc on the stock. Both Baird and Keybanc reiterated their ‘Outperform’ rating on SQ even after it suffered from a short-seller attack by Hindenburg.
This mobile payments services provider is expected to post quarterly earnings of $0.32 per share in its upcoming report, which represents a year-over-year change of +77.8%. Revenues are expected to be $4.54 billion, up 14.7% from the year-ago quarter.
While earnings and revenue growth expectations are important in evaluating the potential strength in a stock, empirical research shows a strong correlation between trends in earnings estimate revisions and near-term stock price movements.
For Block, the consensus EPS estimate for the quarter has been revised 37% lower over the last 30 days to the current level. And a negative trend in earnings estimate revisions doesn't usually translate into price appreciation. So, make sure to keep an eye on SQ going forward to see if this recent jump can turn into more strength down the road.
Block is a member of the Zacks Technology Services industry. One other stock in the same industry, Vivid Seats Inc. (SEAT), finished the last trading session 0.3% lower at $7.20. SEAT has returned -8.4% over the past month.
Vivid Seats Inc.'s consensus EPS estimate for the upcoming report has changed +3% over the past month to $0.06. Compared to the company's year-ago EPS, this represents a change of +200%.

2023.03.29 12:14 JustBoatTrash On Long and Variable Lags in Monetary Policy
https://www.atlantafed.org/about/atlantafed/officers/executive_office/bostic-raphael/message-from-the-president/2022/11/15/long-and-variable-lags-in-monetary-policy Starting in March, the Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) has raised the federal funds rate six times—from a range of zero to 0.25 percent, to a range of 3.75 to 4 percent. In June, the Committee began reducing the Fed's holdings of securities, shrinking the balance sheet, another tool to pull money out of the economy and thus slow inflation.
For numerous reasons, it is difficult to predict exactly when these policy moves will significantly reduce the inflation rate. I will discuss here one of the complicating factors that is especially salient, the "long and variable" lag between a monetary policy action and its impact on the economy, and on inflation in particular. As the November FOMC statement noted, for the first time in this policy tightening cycle, the Committee will consider lags as it determines the pace of future increases in the federal funds rate.
The funds rate is the interest banks charge one another for overnight loans from their reserves at the Federal Reserve. It influences rates lenders charge borrowers. The basic idea is that higher borrowing costs will slow overall demand in the economy, which in turn will reduce inflationary pressures.
That happens gradually. A large body of research tells us it can take 18 months to two years or more for tighter monetary policy to materially affect inflation. You may be wondering: Why does it take so long?
The US economy is a vast, complex ecosystem of interrelated forces. So, it takes businesses and consumers time to recognize, feel, and act on changes in financial conditions. For instance, firms are continually making capital investments that require financing. If a company has already started to build a factory or introduce a new product line, it will often continue to move forward rather than halt the project in midstream, even though financing costs have changed since it launched the venture.
The bite comes for planned projects or expansions down the road; companies may be less likely to start these. Also, we know pricing decisions for many businesses not only hinge on current costs but are also what we call "sticky"—they don't change often even as economic conditions shift.
Both examples make clear that it can take many months for these decisions to affect the economy and prices.
To be sure, there is considerable uncertainty about how these policy lags will play out. We are still learning about an economy that is rapidly changing after an unprecedented global pandemic and other surprising events, such as the war in Ukraine, that shocked important economic sectors. In fact, one school of thought suggests that the lags may be shorter in part because of policy guidance that, in effect, allows financial markets to react to policy before we implement it. We tell them it's coming, so financial conditions in the marketplace begin changing in anticipation.
Still, monetary policy unquestionably works with a lag. So, we at the FOMC calibrate policy today knowing we won't see its full impact on inflation for months. In those circumstances, we must look to economic signals other than inflation as guideposts along our path.
Parts of the economy that are especially sensitive to interest rates, such as residential real estate, show the effects of monetary policy first. Indeed, the latest data from the Bureau of Economic Analysis tell us private residential fixed investment—mostly home buying—fell more than 25 percent in the third quarter at an annual rate. Recently, my staff and I have seen clues that tighter financial conditions may be pinching other sectors such as commercial real estate development and banking. By and large, though, it appears tighter money has not yet constrained business activity enough to seriously dent inflation.
Because today's inflation is a by-product of an imbalance between supply and demand, our job at the FOMC is to bring them into better balance. We will achieve this by attaining a monetary policy stance that is sufficiently restrictive to return inflation to our target. We are not there now, and so I anticipate that more rate hikes will be needed. How will I know when we are close to that mark?
I will need to see indicators of broad-based easing of inflation.
There are glimmers of hope. After the pace of increases in goods prices accelerated in every month but one for 19 months, it slowed in July, August, and September, the last three months for which data are available, according to the Personal Consumption Expenditures price index, the FOMC's preferred inflation gauge.
We will need to see increases in services prices slow, too. So far, we haven't. The PCE price index shows the pace of monthly increases in services prices ticked up in three of the past four months.
One key to easing pressures on services prices will be a better balance between demand and supply in labor markets because most service industries are labor intensive. There, recent evidence is mixed. Despite some declines in the huge number of job vacancies, the labor market remains tight as openings still far exceed the number of job seekers. That creates upward pressure on wages.
Right now, job number one for the FOMC is to tame inflation that is unacceptably high. If high inflation persists for too long and becomes entrenched in the economy, we know that more prolonged and deeper economic pain will ensue. So, while there are risks that our policy actions to tame inflation could induce a recession, that would be preferred to the alternative.
But, as I noted in recent remarks, a recession is not a foregone conclusion, and we will try to avoid one if at all possible. And there are many scenarios in which a recession, if it does occur, could turn out to be mild by historical standards.
Once we reach the appropriately restrictive policy stance to tame inflation, I think our course of action is clear. As I explained in this October speech, the FOMC will need to maintain this stance until we see convincing evidence that inflation is firmly on track toward our 2 percent objective.

2023.03.29 12:14 Own_Radish_5434 Looking for a camera that travels well, good for beginners, easy workflow and within a £500 budget.
Hey all, I’m going to South America for 6 months in July and I’m looking to purchase a camera for the trip. I’m fairly new to photography and have only previously worked with GoPros (Hated the long work flow and impossible to edit on my laptop)/ Polaroid cameras.
I need a camera that’s fairly small (easy inside a backpack to conceal), lightweight, good for video and images. With a fairly simple workflow (preferably just being able to cable it into my laptop and get the files in editable format). And ideally under £500.
I’ve seen the Nikon Z30 which looks like a good option for images and videos and good for beginners but it’s £700 price tag quite expensive (at least for me anyway) just wondered if there’s something similar at a lower price or something else you lovely people could recommend?
Thanks!

2023.03.29 12:12 genesissupplies Breaking Down the Difference Between Biodegradable and Compostable: Which is Better for the Environment?
| Breaking Down the Difference Between Biodegradable and Compostable: Which is Better for the Environment? As our society becomes more environmentally conscious, "biodegradable" and "compostable" are becoming increasingly popular. But what do these terms mean, and which is better for the environment? Biodegradable products break into natural elements over time, while compostable products break down into nutrient-rich soil. While both are marketed as eco-friendly alternatives to traditional plastics, there are significant differences between the two. In this article, we'll break down the difference between biodegradable and compostable products, examine their environmental impact, and help you decide which option is best for you and the environment. So, let's dive in and explore the world of biodegradability and compostability. Defining Biodegradable Products Biodegradable products break down into natural elements over time, primarily through the action of microorganisms, such as bacteria and fungi. These products are made from materials that are derived from renewable resources, such as corn starch, vegetable oil, and paper. Biodegradable products can be found in various applications, from food packaging to disposable cutlery and clothing. Several factors, including temperature, moisture, and oxygen, influence biodegradation. In ideal conditions, biodegradable products can break down within a few months to several years. However, in less favourable conditions, such as landfills or bodies of water, biodegradable products may only partially break down and can still contribute to pollution. Despite their eco-friendly image, not all biodegradable products are created equal. Some products may only partially break down, leaving behind microplastics that can harm the environment. Additionally, a standardized definition of what constitutes a biodegradable product currently needs to be standardized, leading to consumers' confusion and potential manufacturers' greenwashing. Defining Compostable Products Compostable products, conversely, are designed to break down into nutrient-rich soil, a process known as composting. Composting is a natural process that occurs when organic matter, such as food scraps and yard waste, decomposes into a rich soil-like material that can be used to nourish plants. Compostable products are made from biodegradable materials, such as corn starch and sugarcane. Still, they are also designed to break down in specific conditions, such as in a composting facility or in a backyard compost bin. These conditions typically involve a specific balance of temperature, moisture, and oxygen, which allows the organic material to break down into nutrient-rich soil that can be used for gardening. Unlike biodegradable products, compostable products are held to specific standards, such as the ASTM D6400 or the European EN 13432 standard, ensuring that the product will break down into compost within a certain timeframe under specific conditions. Additionally, compostable products do not leave behind microplastics, making them a more sustainable alternative to traditional plastics. The Environmental Impact of Traditional Plastics Before we can fully understand the environmental impact of biodegradable and compostable products, we must first examine the impact of traditional plastics. Plastics have become ubiquitous in our modern world, with an estimated 9.2 billion tons of plastic produced since the 1950s. Unfortunately, a significant portion of this plastic ends up in landfills or polluting our oceans, where it can harm wildlife and disrupt ecosystems. Traditional plastics are made from non-renewable resources, such as fossil fuels, and can take hundreds of years to break down. Even when they break down, they often leave behind microplastics that can persist in the environment even longer. Additionally, the production of plastics is a major contributor to greenhouse gas emissions and other forms of pollution. The Environmental Impact of Biodegradable Products While biodegradable products may seem more sustainable than traditional plastics, their environmental impact can sometimes be more apparent. Biodegradable products can break down into natural elements over time, but they may still leave behind microplastics that can harm the environment. In addition, the production of biodegradable products can require significant amounts of energy and resources. For example, producing biodegradable plastics can require more water and energy than traditional plastics, which can offset potential environmental benefits. Furthermore, the disposal of biodegradable products can be challenging. While they can break down in the right conditions, they may only partially break down in a landfill or ocean, where they can still contribute to pollution. Additionally, if biodegradable products are not disposed of properly, such as in a composting facility or a backyard compost bin, they may not break down at all. The Environmental Impact of Compostable Products Compostable products have a more positive environmental impact than biodegradable products, as they are designed to break down into nutrient-rich soil that can be used to nourish plants. Composting also helps divert organic waste from landfills, reducing methane emissions and other forms of pollution. Compostable products are also made from renewable resources, such as cornstarch and sugarcane, which can help reduce our reliance on non-renewable resources. Additionally, the production of compostable products typically requires less energy and resources than the production of traditional plastics. However, compostable products do have some limitations. They require specific conditions to break down, such as a specific balance of temperature, moisture, and oxygen, which may not be present in every environment. Additionally, if compostable products are not disposed of properly, such as in a composting facility or a backyard compost bin, they may not break down at all. Biodegradable vs Compostable: Which is Better for the Environment? When it comes to choosing between biodegradable and compostable products, there is no easy answer. Both options have benefits and limitations, and the best choice depends on the specific product and its intended use. In general, compostable products are the more sustainable option, as they are designed to break down into nutrient-rich soil that can be used to nourish plants. However, they require specific conditions to break down, which may only be present in some environments. Additionally, compostable products may only be suitable for some applications, such as packaging for products with a long shelf life. On the other hand, biodegradable products may be a better option for specific applications, such as disposable cutlery or straws. However, they may not fully break down and can leave behind microplastics that can harm the environment. Check a list of biodegradable restaurant items on the Genesis website Ultimately, considering the product's intended use and disposal method is the key to making an informed choice. Compostable products may be the best choice if composting facilities or backyard compost bins are available. If composting is not an option, biodegradable products may be a better alternative to traditional plastics. Misconceptions About Biodegradable and Compostable Products Several misconceptions about biodegradable and compostable products can lead to confusion and misinformation. One common misconception is that all biodegradable products are compostable, which is invalid. Biodegradability and compostability are not interchangeable terms, and not all biodegradable products are suitable for composting. Another misconception is that biodegradable and compostable products will break down quickly in any environment. In reality, both products require specific conditions to break down and may not fully break down in a landfill or in the ocean. Additionally, some manufacturers may use misleading advertising language or make false claims about the environmental benefits of their products, a practice known as greenwashing. To ensure that a product is genuinely compostable, it is essential to do your research and look for third-party certifications, such as the ASTM D6400 or the European EN 13432 standard. How to Properly Dispose of Biodegradable and Compostable Products Proper disposal of biodegradable and compostable products is essential to ensure that they break down as intended and do not contribute to pollution. Compostable products should be disposed of in a composting facility or a backyard compost bin, where they can break down into nutrient-rich soil. Biodegradable products, on the other hand, may not be suitable for composting and should be disposed of in accordance with local regulations. In some cases, biodegradable products may be able to break down in a landfill or in the ocean, but this is not always guaranteed. It is important to follow proper disposal guidelines for biodegradable and compostable products to ensure they have the least possible environmental impact. Examples of Biodegradable and Compostable Products There are a wide range of biodegradable and compostable products available on the market today, from food packaging to disposable cutlery and even clothing. Compostable products include items such as food waste bags, coffee cups, and utensils made from plant-based materials. Biodegradable products include items such as straws, disposable cutlery, and bags made from biodegradable plastics. It is important to note that not all products marketed as biodegradable or compostable are created equal. It is important to look for third-party certifications, such as the ASTM D6400 or the European EN 13432 standard, to ensure that a product is truly compostable or biodegradable. Conclusion: Making Informed Choices for a Sustainable Future In conclusion, the choice between biodegradable and compostable products is sometimes unclear. Both options have benefits and limitations, and the best choice depends on the specific product and its intended use. When choosing, it is crucial to consider the product's intended use and disposal method. Compostable products are the more sustainable option, as they are designed to break down into nutrient-rich soil that can be used to nourish plants. Biodegradable products may be a better alternative to traditional plastics in specific applications, but they may not fully break down and can leave behind microplastics that can harm the environment. Ultimately, the key to making an informed choice is to research and look for third-party certifications, such as the ASTM D6400 or the European EN 13432 standard, to ensure that a product is genuinely compostable or biodegradable. By making informed choices, we can work towards a more sustainable future for ourselves and future generations. 2023.03.29 12:11 Puzzleheaded_Pear696 Dear Americans - An outsider's view on your gun control
| Dear Americans, it is that time again. Something so terrible, tragic, and unthinkable has happened, that left you and the rest of the world in shock, as we stare at those six faces at the news. Those six faces, that will never return home again. While the community mourns, arguments start on social media and you are divided between those, that demand more gun control, and those, that defend your right to bear arms. Meanwhile, the world watches. I would like to show you, what this looks like from an outsider's perspective. So please take your time and bear with me. In text mentions the following topics, that may be triggering to some: gun violence, shootings, explosives, brief mention of suicide in statistics __________________________________________________________________________________ It is the year 2023 on Earth II, an almost exact replica of earth as you know it. I live in the United Federation Acirema, or UFA for short. UFA has a population of roughly 300 million citizens and is centered on the core values of freedom and individualism. They are the greatest country on Earth II and criticise those, that limit people's rights, by forbidding them to own things that allow everyone to defend themselves in case of attacks, crime, or a revolt of the government. Among these is the right to own and carry guns. And bombs. The other countries of Earth II heavily criticise UFA because of this, but the United Federation is adamant about not restricting this right, which is anchored in their constitution. Supporters of this right, like myself, argue, that without the right to build, buy, carry, and use explosive devices in a situation where they would protect themselves, their core freedom would be lost. After all, bombs themselves don't kill people. People kill people. If they ban bombs or control the sale and storage of bombs, then people would still kill people, just with knives. And we would all agree, that banning knives makes no sense. Most people that own bombs, like me, use them for personal protection. We buy alarm systems with integrated explosive devices, used to protect ourselves against burglars. Others also carry grenades to defend themselves if they are attacked. The second largest group of stakeholders on the pro side are fishers, who use small detonators to fish, both as a way of feeding their families and as a sport. Speaking of sports, various clubs also host competitions in speed-building (the fastest person to assemble a working explosive device) and accuracy (both throwing and also judging the impact). There are also bomb suits fun runs, which are always the highligh of my year, as they promote bomb safety! source: https://www.af.mil/News/Article-Display/Article/114531/eod-technicians-run-5k-in-bomb-suits-for-good-cause/ There are, however, some tragic cases of a child finding their mother's self-defense grenade in her purse and accidentally detonating it, thinking it was a toy. However, these cases barely happen and after all, it is purely the parent's fault. I mean everyone with enough common sense would be more careful. So I don't have to worry about it, they messed up and it will never happen to me. Sometimes, there are also cases of someone blowing up a mall or a school. I have to admit, that scares me a little more. However, if you actually look into why this happened, the problem was not that the criminal had a bomb. After all, there are plenty of peaceful, law-abiding enthusiasts of explosive devices, like myself. In every case, the bomber had a mental illness or no support system, so if we just try offer better support, this would not happen anymore. After all, bombs don't kill people. People kill people. To offer better protection, The school in my town now has metal scanners, heavy steel doors, and ex-bomb squad members on staff. Teachers are also taught how to disarm a bomb if they find one and the school has a cell signal jammer, so no bombs can be detonated remotely. This makes me feel a lot safer sending my kids there. However, to be honest, the best way would be to just arm teachers with grenades as well, so my daughter is kept safe. Some people say, that we should just ban bombs. But I have a bomb and nothing ever happened to me. I have several even, some for self-defense, then the one linked to my alarm system, and some historic models. So clearly, safe bomb ownership is possible. The problem is, that people aren't taught how to handle bombs properly. And illegal bombs of course. All of mine were legally bought at the supermarket around the corner. Also, if people were ever to rise up or the government would abolish democracy, we can defend ourselves and make sure that our democracy and freedom cannot be destroyed. So clearly, they serve an important purpose. I know, that there are about forty thousand people a year, that die because of bombs. But that number is just hyped up, because over 60% are suicides anyway, and they would happen no matter what. And the other deaths would happen too, we would just see an increase in knife fights. So bombs are not the issue. In addition, banning bombs at this point is pretty impossible. It's just a way for the manufacturers of safes and other storing methods to make more money off of us. And, as I said, the main problems are the illegal bombs anyway, controlling us legal explosive enthusiasts would not solve anything anyway. By this point, bombs are so common, that the best way is just to teach people how to use them, maybe be stricter with illegal bomb ownership, but that's it. I'm proud to be an Acirema and proud of my rights and freedoms, which no other country on Earth II can even come close to. source: source: https://www.shutterstock.com/de/image-photo/hand-child-picks-check-bomb-little-1488466070 __________________________________________________________________________________ Feeling a bit uneasy about the text? That is how the rest of the world feels about the idea of handling guns the way you do. Of course, it is difficult to compare weapons of mass destruction and guns. However, in 2019 sixteen people in the US died of explosions and eighty-six were injured (mainly due to accidents like fireworks or gas leaks). There were 251 bombing incidents in the US in that year. Also in 2019, there were 39,707 gun deaths (of that 14,414 homicides) in the US. almost four thousand of them were children. Compared to the EU, which has about 6,400 gun deaths per year, of that 1000 homicides. And that with a far bigger population (USA: 332 Million, EU: 447 Million). You might call me unreasonable to make this comparison. After all, you can't just get a bomb and walk around with it. If you think that, just reread the last sentence and think about it for a minute. The thing is, I know that the world I just describes is completely unreasonable. Like, imagine going to university and someone sitting next to you with a suicide vest. See, that is how we feel when we think about students legally bringing guns into the classroom. That is why we look at you in disbelief when you sell guns legally in a target with little to no background check and so on. On top of this API data showed an unexpected decline in U.S. crude inventories of 6.1 million barrels last week. An ongoing dispute at the Ceyhan port, which halted around 400K a day of oil exports is adding to supply worries. The front end WTI contract is trading at USD 73.95 per barrel, Brent at USD 79.23.

2023.03.29 12:11 Ludoamorous_Slut Account Price Guide Settings not working?
Living in Sweden and finding international shipping cumbersome, I always look at just stores located in Sweden when looking at parts. To not have to always manually change this whenever I change page,I went into my account settings, where there's a header for "Price Guide Settings".
I changed the setting for store location from "anywhere" to "Sweden", and saved the settings. And yet still whenever I go to a new page, it resets to showing me stores everywhere rather than just here. I tried logging out, restarting the browser and logging in again - and yet the issue remains. When going to the settings page,
it looks like the settings are changed, so it's not that it didn't save the changes - it just seems to ignore them.
Any ideas? Did I change the wrong setting or something?

2023.03.29 12:10 RANDY_MAR5H Are we REALLY going to start seeing prices drop?
I'm thinking of jumping into a Fiesta ST. I've found a small handful for under $19k, all under 60k miles. The one with 60k miles is $17k.
One in particular is a single owner, mid-40's, $19k, 28k miles, cat back and that's it.
However, interest rates are still high. I've seen some auctions on cars and bids end with lower prices than in my area (Central TX.)
Anyway, during my research I saw at least 2
/cars threads where several users mention used car prices are going to drop, just wait. It's going to happen any time now. Those threads were from exactly a year ago.
Do any of you really think we're going to see a drop? Or has the drop happened, and that's it? I'm definitely not excited about jumping into a new loan at 6%.

2023.03.29 12:10 SaraTyler Is it just a coincidence/my impression or Sam and Diane resemble Grease's character
Hello there,
I used to watch Cheers when I was a kid, 7-8 years old, and I've never rewatched it until it came on Paramount. So my memories are pretty vague, and I'm actually discovering the series for the first time (and loving it, obviously).
I was listening to a Spotify playlist and Summer Nights from Grease popped out: looking at the album cover it seems to me that Sandy (Olivia Newton-John) and Danny Zuko (John Travolta) both bear some resemblance with Diane and Sam, even in the names (and of course in the attitudes and personalities, but these are a little bit more archetypical and therefore less specific).
Is it just a mental projection of mine?

2023.03.29 12:10 bountiful215 [SPEC] Chain of Plasma (Battle Mechanic)
First post here.
[[Chain of Plasma]]
Chain of Plasma deals 3 damage to any target. Then that player or that permanent's controller may discard a card. If the player does, they may copy this spell and may choose a new target for that copy.
Still very early days, since we don't know the finer points of how the upcoming Battle mechanic works yet... but it seems that Battles can be targeted by effects that 'deal X damage to any target'. It also seems as though the controller of a Battle card would want to damage their own Battle in order to trigger its transformation.
[[Chain of Vapor]] and [[Chain of Smog]] are already notorious cards in EDH/CEDH, and I'm wondering whether Chain of Plasma has some potential to rise given that you can use it to repeatedly target your own Battle and cause it to flip at instant speed.
Currently, Chain of Plasma has only a single printing in Onslaught at Uncommon. Supply of the non-foil variant is plentiful on both Cardmarket (MKM) and TCGplayer, but foils are relatively scarce with 80 listings currently on MKM and only 58 on TCGplayer (across all conditions and languages). It seems that on both platforms, the cost of a LP (by US standards; GD by EU standards) is around 3€/$. NM versions also start around 3€ in EU, but are around 8$ on TCG.
Spec Cons: Battle mechanic still relatively obscure; only usable in decks containing Red; 2 mana+ discard may be too inefficient compared to other Red damage spells; heavily contingent on popularity and strength of Battle mechanic; non-foil supply plentiful in both EU and US; would only see play in EDH and/or Legacy (probably too weak for Legacy); general WotC reprint policy.
Spec Pros: Single printing; old border foils generally popular; 2 mana instant speed damage spell isn't terrible; possible precedent in popularity/price of Chain of VapoSmog; fairly cheap buy in price; card has political potential which can be fun at EDH tables; foil copies are fairly scarce across EU and US markets; can be used to trigger your own Battles at instant speed; [[Brash Taunter]] lol.
Full disclosure: I've already purchased two foil playsets for around 3€ per card. I very much enjoy politicking in EDH and will end up using these copies in my Red decks, regardless of whether this proves to be a good spec or not!
Exit plan: relist later on online platforms/buylist if the card gains momentum, or hold on to copies for personal use
With that being said, I'd be interested to hear other people's thoughts on this. This could well just be another dumpster spec after all!
EDIT: Updated post with updated Gatherer text for Chain of Plasma.

2023.03.29 12:09 No_Experience6647 How to Stage Your Home for a Quick Sale
By staging your house you increase the chances of selling it and also increase the potential price of the house. So who doesn’t want this if they are planning to sell their house?
House staging is the process of making changes to your house so that it sells faster and at a higher rate. But try to understand that house staging is not only just decorating the house. It is very different from that. House staging involves arranging the house and its components to make it look as good as possible to potential buyers.
If you are hiring a real estate agent then you can discuss house staging with him or her. Some real estate agents take an additional fee for this. They can be very helpful and experienced so it’s advised to take their help.
In staging a house you highlight its best features so that the house stands out and appeals to buyers. Make sure you declutter your house.
Get rid of unwanted objects and clean the house and make it as clean as possible. You will also have to rearrange the furniture so that it looks appealing to the buyers. You have to make the house as inviting as possible for the buyers. The more appealing the house looks the more offers and higher offers you will get for the house.
Try neutralizing the colors of the house. If you already have a house with a very colorful scheme you can then neutralize the color palette with some white curtains or white pillows. You can also put white towels in the bathroom to give it a professional spa look.
Remove unnecessary items from your house. This will make your house look more spacious. You should also clean your house as an untidy house will repel potential buyers. Unnecessary items can also include furniture. If your house has a lot of furniture then it will make your house feel congested. So keep an appropriate amount of furniture in the house.
Donate or sell unused items or items that are of no use to you. This item can be anything from a small piece of clothing to a big chair.
Also, make sure your storage places are well organized because buyers will open storage spaces and check them.
Depersonalize your home. This will include removing personal stuff like personal photos and family photos. Replace them with something less personal so that potential buyers can identify with the house. Other personal items such as sketchbooks and personal song albums can also be put away so that potential buyers can identify better with the house. Also, doing this will help buyers focus more on the house and less on your personal belongings.
Repair any damages in the house. Damages are a big red flag when buying houses so make sure if anything in your house is damaged you repair it. Also, if your house has something over-stylized or something that stands out in the room, make sure to neutralize it.
Add fresh plants to your house. This will increase the potential buyers and also the price. You can also add fresh flowers. They will increase the aesthetic presence of your house. Place plants and flowers carefully and also at the right spots like on the coffee table or on the dining table. Make sure to keep the flowers and plants fresh as dead plants and flowers will create the opposite effect and may turn off potential buyers.
Also, make sure to use decorative pots and vases and that they match the rest of the house.
Staging your home for a quick sale is all about creating a welcoming and inviting environment that appeals to potential buyers.
