2023.06.10 06:08 Soren-Schuch Oculus Quest 2 Upgrade Advice
So, I noticed that the lenses in my oculus quest 2 tend to fog up and my eyes get kinda warm. I was looking into fan add ons that could reduce this but I don’t really know if it’s worth it or not and I don’t know which to purchase. I also noticed that many require the use of the port on the side of the headset but I have an external battery plugged into that port, which would mean I’d also need to purchase a splitter to connect both. Is it worth it? If so which fan vent should I buy?

2023.06.10 06:07 slaymerabbit Can someone please help me beat the Nostrava Stronghold?
I'm absolutely losing my mind. The end where she heals and then summons endless Balrogs is complete bullshit. No matter how close I get to winning I'm always overwhelmed at the very last second. It's clearly not meant for soloing, but there's a side quest I can't complete until I conquer it so can some please help me?

2023.06.10 06:07 Dame_in_the_Desert Opinion on this Ritani stone?
My wedding anniversary is this month, and I’d been looking at lab-grown diamonds to have something a bit bigger, less expensive, and with far less sentimental value than my original, mined engagement ring. After tons of research on princess cut measurements, I found the-too-good-to be-true diamond that everyone seems to mention when they talk about Ritani. I didn’t love their settings but just went with it because I’d been waffling so long. Can I get some opinions on this stone? The local (yet highly reputable) brick and mortar we visited had prices at $13K for 3.5 carats, though an E color rating. I know the G rating brings down cost, but by $10K?! The gal who helped us at the store showed us a side by side with a Ritani that was super cloudy, so I’m now spinning in my head with immense buyer’s remorse, and I’ve got at least a 2-week wait till the thing even gets here! Also concerned with how warm of a rating I went with and kicking myself for being cheap on that front despite this stone being well within budget. I know we can return the ring, but just need prepare myself for whatever is going to land in my mailbox… submitted by Dame_in_the_Desert to EngagementRings [link] [comments]

2023.06.10 06:01 AutoModerator Daily Roundtable: Community Q&A
Greetings Tarnished!
This is the place to ask any questions you may have about Elden Ring. This includes obscure detail questions, "newbie" advice questions, build questions, boss advice questions, and what have you.
Well written, constructive criticism is fine but please avoid ranting about aspects of the game you just don’t like. This includes “so and so boss is stupid and too difficult.”
If you are interested in the game but don’t own it yet, please don’t post “should I buy this game?” or “Is this game worth it?”. If you have played other FromSoftware games and enjoyed them, the answer is yes. If you haven’t, just do a little research! These games are difficult, and sometimes frustrating, and not everyone is going to enjoy them. And that’s okay!
Lastly, be friendly! We are all here because we are interested in the same game! Please treat your fellow players with respect.

2023.06.10 05:59 Zavier13 Lock Side quest.
I believe they should lock side quest until the main campaign is finished.
I feel this would provide a smoother gameplay experience to unlock the world then allow exploration in a more organic way.
The fact that they throw all these quest at you distracts the players from unlocking the world. As well as having a 20 side quest cap makes it even more annoying to have quest you cant accept unless you are constantly completing them.

2023.06.10 05:57 CorrugationDirection Purchased my first Roman coin, can anyone help me identify anything on it?
This coin is very worn and I do not have the proper equipment to get a good picture. I doubt there is enough detail here to give much of any info, but after my online searching turned out very little, I figured I'd post here. This is about the size of a finger nail (half the size of a dime). There's a face profile on one side, surrounded by text. The other side looks to have a standing figure with a ring of text (likely). submitted by CorrugationDirection to AncientCoins [link] [comments]
2023.06.10 05:55 mincemuncher I just beat the remake
I played a good amount of the 2008 version and thought it was good back then. It's actually sad that the same quality in video games is often absent nowadays due to greed. Most games that come out now just copy off each other, there's no originality anymore. The games that came out this year that I've enjoyed the most have been remakes. Besides remakes there has been a few games I enjoyed playing throughout the years like Elden Ring, but as time goes on it seems companies are trying to milk gamers as much money as possible instead of making a solid product that's worth $70 with no strings attached. Now hopefully Dead Space remake sold well so we can get a remake of Dead Space 2.

2023.06.10 05:53 ImaFireSquid World tour but you do everything as soon as you can is much easier.
In my first play through, I did some side quests. Some. I was about the right level for missions but found that enemies often dwarfed my pitiful little health pool and my attacks were way weaker than theirs.
This time my goal was to finish everything as soon as I could, and most things (aside from the Carlos quest and the tour de part time) were pretty doable from the first moment I got them.
Some things that will take longer:
Mastering every style. Some are easier than others. Cammy’s style is tremendously easy to master because there are two high level Cammy style fighters in her area. Lily is difficult because the Lily style characters are few and far between, so I started with Lily on the assumption that I’d passively master other styles as I dealt with the juggernaut that is mastering the Lily style.
Grinding friendship isn’t hard but it’s easier late game so I haven’t actually started yet. I want to friend Luke first for that goofy hat.

2023.06.10 05:39 DextersQuest Opinions on seasonal renown?
Am I the only one that thinks renown is a boring fucking slog? I was so excited about seasons but I never wanna do that again in my whole life. And yes, they say you don’t have to find altars ever again, but if you don’t you’ll have to do a ton more side quests. Am I being ridiculous?

2023.06.10 05:39 Starrynite120 Worth making changes to a recent build?
I made a build end of last year targeting 1440p. 3060 ti, Ryzen 7 5700g, and 32gb ddr4 3200 mhz ram. I want this computer to continue performing at 1440p for several years (3-5) at high settings. If I can reach 144 fps that’s great, but I’m content at a stable 60. I’m interested in games like elden ring, starfield, baldurs gate 3, homeworld 3 to name some recent/upcoming ones. I only play single player.
Does it make sense to make any changes right now? For example, I was considering getting a 5800x3d as I realized after building the 5700g was a bit of a goofy choice with the cache and pcie 3, and I could still sell the 5700g for a decent price. But is what I have just going to accomplish what I’m trying do, making any change a bit of a waste? Would a change like that really delay the need for an upgrade in the future? Thanks for any help!

2023.06.10 05:28 joe_sausage Good news: Engineering Manager found a great job after ~6 months. It's possible.
7 years of experience as an EM, but not a lot of recent hands-on-keys experience. Definitely stronger on the people/relationships/process side of management than I am on any particular tech or stack. I've managed security, full stack, front and back end, data, database reliability, and feature delivery teams. I have glowing recommendations from previous reports and managers/directors alike, a strong resume, I write a good cover letter, etc etc etc.
I was laid off in December, and I was starting to fray. Probably 300+ applications, 4 full interview rounds (and 4 rejections, ugh), a handful of other partial processes, lots of recruiter screens... had kind of tapped out my network, and the referrals hadn't gotten me anything. Close, but no brass ring. Severance ended in April, so the financial pressure was mounting.
Got passed over for a referral role that I really thought I'd get in May, after a full round of very good interviews, and I was pretty bummed. Anxiety at an all-time high (I mean ALL time, in 38 years of life). Starting to lose sleep, quality of life really starting to take a dip. Marriage stress. The works.
And then this role came through, completely randomly. No connections working there. Just saw a job description that resonated with me, threw my application in... maybe put in a little extra "oomph" in the cover letter... 4 rounds later... 16% salary bump compared to what I was making before, and it genuinely feels like a great fit. Values alignment, their recruiting process was super smooth, already got my standard-issue hoodie and water bottle, MBP's in the mail, flying out to meet folks at an all-hands in August, already feeling connected and already feeling good vibes. Obviously there's a honeymoon period and that will wear off, but... I'm excited.
Keep your heads up, folks. The roles are out there. It's rough and turbulent and the industry is going through convulsions right now, but the industry isn't going anywhere. This is a rough patch. We'll all get through it. It might get a little ugly and the stress/anxiety is very real, no doubt about it. Be prepared, be realistic, be pragmatic, but don't despair. Take care of yourselves, make sure you're being smart financially, and treat yourselves with kindness. It's a marathon.
And I'm not speaking to recent grads with no experience; I think you've got a different road ahead, and I think the landscape has perhaps changed more drastically for y'all than it has for us "veterans" with 5-10 years of experience, in the middle of our careers. I think the "tightening of the belt" (corporate speak for "the .001% that controls the money has decided everyone else is getting too much of it") is probably going to hit the entry level folks the hardest, because "doing more with less" means less bandwidth for mentorship, less budgets for internships, less appetite for juniors all around. It's absolutely penny-wise, pound-foolish and absolutely idiotic in the long term, but... well... welcome to capitalism.
But for those of us who have the experience: the roles are out there, and we'll get through this.

2023.06.10 05:06 Clear-Waltz8123 I hate being dumb
I always thought I was at least average, I have decent in the high classes... Yet I am still a fucking dumbass. I can't understand any game I play, and movie I watch, or any person I talk to. I was just trying to have a fun time with my friends on Elden ring, and I got called multiple variations of "worthless" and "stupid" at least 50 times. This is why I enjoy having no friends, I don't have to burden them with my stupidity. I want to die. I plan to kill myself after high school, the thought of it is just pure happiness to me now, it is peaceful.

2023.06.10 04:57 YFN_Jason Thoughts about this game for those who’ve played?
I’ve played Elden ring, Dark Souls, and Bloodbourne, which never really posed a challenge to me. Although those are far more superior games, this game right here is way harder than those three. I’ve never struggled so much with a game before, I actually starting getting frustrated. I’m talking about Bosses who literally spam attacks that one tap you. The first boss literally has 2 forms and it’s forces you to learn the mechanics of the game very early. submitted by YFN_Jason to YourRAGE [link] [comments]
