2023.06.10 05:40 TheRealLanAmore Management screwing over Opp techs which is screwing over…everything?!

So full disclosure, not all Opp techs are bad. In fact I really most of the guys in my branch. Now to the gist;
So I’m currently in residential sales. (I can already feel you rolling your eyes lol) don’t worry, I did my time with install, service, maintenance and fabrication for almost 10 years. Switched to sales only a year ago. I am no stranger to the tasks and hassle of service calls that a lot of you deal with every day. I truly admire it and even miss the work sometimes. However, at my company, it seems like management is encouraging techs to turn over leads on systems that are basically brand new.
It’s an uphill battle for me as a salesmen, and extremely dishonest to the customer. A fan motor slightly out of tolerance is not even kind of a good reason to suggest a replacement. I ran a call today for a 6 year old system because the tech said there is “some growth on the blower motor!??!?” Dude what? I fully understand these guys are just trying to hit their kpis and this issue really falls on management pushing them to churn out turnovers for literally any reason. This has a direct trickle down effect to the entire company and all the fingers get pointed back at the sales team.
In my previous company we took a lot of pride in being honest and transparent with the customer about what their system needed and genuine thoughts on life expectancy. Because of that, our client base trusted us and consistently kept us busy with returns and referrals. At my current company I walk into the home and the homeowner KNOWS replacement is bullshit before I can even say anything.
All this to say; thank you to all the honest, hardworking techs and installers who actually care about the service you are providing. This is a tough industry to make a career out of and I have nothing but respect for my fellow trades-men and women. I just wish corporate bullshit kpis didn’t screw us all over at every turn.
Anyways I’m done ranting.

2023.06.10 05:39 Standard-Ad-8151 i5 - High CPU usage and Random High Fan RPM's

Hi all, I bough a CPU i5 12400F, 16gb Kingston Ram and a Gigabyte Motherboard B760M DS3H DDR4 to upgrade my system.
What happens its that many times (every day) the CPU usage is huge - very above normal - even not using heavy programs that justifies that. Many times, I check task manager, and the CPU usage, is very high, when I was just on Windows folders, and browsing - nothing more. It reaches easily 60/70% CPU usage, and sometimes even 80/90/100% with no reason. Different task's, makes the CPU reaches almost the limit - check the pics. Even "Windows explorer" task, sometimes reaches 50-60% CPU usage, I’ve check that many times on Task manager. This happen with no apparent reason, I do not use heavy software. And with the exact same kind of usage, with my last PC which were half powerful and with half ram ( a 9400F with 8Gb Ram) Never had this issues, neither, a so high CPU usage. Since this CPU is double powerful in all aspects, wasn't expectable that the CPU, on the same kind of use, works with less effort and have less CPU usage?! Even the Windows Restart's/Boot, were more quick with my oldest Setup than on this Setup ( and I’ve already activate the Fast Boot on Bios). The only difference were, that my previous motherboard was an MSI ( a very low end H310M PRO-M2 PLUS model), and this actual one its a "new" Gigabyte B760M DS3H DDR4 model. Could the motherboard model/Brand are making all of this underperformance and issues ? At normal use, i can say, that i can't notice any kind of performance improvement with this new Setup ( that is twice powerful) I only do feel a better performance on games, but I’m a casual gamer, and i almost play CS:GO, and less more. The real difference is that with this Cup/mobo, anything I do reaches high CPU and energy usage very easily.
I have Windows Fresh install, no Virus, Adware. Bios Updated to last firmware. No background running programs. Just Windows 10 64bit with the essential's. But anyways, this looks like a Windows Problem, since i've made all Hardware test's, and its all good.
Other problem is the High CPU FAN RPM's ( and noise, obviously ). I know that the Stock Fans were not the most quiet, but for many years, i never bought an aftermarket Cooler, since I don't use heavy software, and even gaming I don’t play heavy CPU games, so the stock cooler is more than enough for the needs, and I’ve checked a review/noise test comparison on YouTube, and my Fan doesn't perform near close to that: https://youtu.be/yhKBABCfmpk?t=240 , and note, the CPU and cooler its the same. I wish, my Fan run so smoothly and constant, and specially so quiet like the one on the video.
This video show's a "little" of the random RPM's i am talking about, with windows idle, closed programs, just opening/switching between folder's, but I can say that usually is worst than the video, and phone mic it not capture the best sound, personally the FAN noise is much more aggressive, and usually the RPM'S are worst, (VERY) annoying and uncomfortable, Specially at night : https://streamable.com/523h6e
The CooleFan just ramp up quickly to High RPM's, by no reason and completely randomly, like if i were using the CPU with really heavy programs. Sometimes by just opening a Browser tab or a Folder is enough to listen the Fan ramping up Hard - what its not normal. And the most weird, is that the Fan randomly changes RPM's frequently. By itself, the CPU CooleFan is not quiet, but actually is running very above normal and making a lot of noise - much above the usual. The Fan could be working at 1500RPM'S, but by no reason, changes to 2000/2200RPM'S, sometimes 3000RPM'S - while using Windows - once again; no heavy programs, just windows, folders, and browsing. Fan randomly and constantly changes RPM'S , never stays idle, like the CPU are. At night, is almost impossible, stay with the PC turned ON.
Its not the 1st time, that i have the PC turned on, but I’m not using it. I sit on my bedroom, at some PC distance, and I listen the FAN ramping up Hard... like !?!? I'm not even using the PC lol its on idle, there are no programs running. How the Fan ramp up like if i was using the CPU heavily ? PS: I have my PC Case well good refrigerated ( tbh, due to this problem, and to test, the PC Case is opened - No differences ).
PS: I configured and tested FAN Profiles on Bios, and its on a Silent/Manual smooth Fan curve, even so the result, is what I’ve explained. Since, if I let the default Profile "Normal Fan", the problem is even worst, and the noise its impossible to stay near the PC, it's almost an airplane noise. But even with a very smooth Fan curve, I can hear the fan a LOT . But the Random RPM's ramp up's and down, even with a manual smooth Fan curve remains exactly the same. The Fan constantly changes RPM's (hardly), looks like and F1 car motor on a race lol.
I spend lot of hours testing ( I have some IT experience ), searching, reading, and I cannot find any solution, neither what could be the problem root. To me, should be a faulty motherboard, or CPU, but I make tests to the CPU, and on all of them everything seems ok, so, i think that the problem could be the motherboard. I've contacted Intel and nothing were detected. I've contacted Gigabyte and they just simple ignore the questions, they just told me to take the board to warranty – No troubleshooting, no help, nothing !
The questions is to, trying to know the cause of this issues, since I still have the chance to return mobo and CPU, and change for a better and stable hardware choices. But firstly I need to know and understand which device is causing troubles, if the CPU, if the Board. And my budget it's not very high, so, I would like to replace the part that is causing issues.
Do you consider Gigabyte a good motherboard brand for low/mid end range? It's the 1st time i give a chance to Gigabyte, usually i buy MSI, and honestly i was happy with motherboard's, and with the UEFI BIOS . But honestly i doesn't like the BIOS at all, and with this issues, makes me very sceptical to Gigabyte, at the same time I also feel like this motherboard doesn't have much stability ( i could be wrong). I bought this Gigabyte Mobo due to the price point, and they bring heatsink on (half) VRM and a heatsink to the SSD M.2 Nvme... Maybe i was caught by the Brand marketing. I have a Gigabyte Graphic Card and no issues, runs well. But for low/mid end motherboards, Gigabyte could not be the best option. I'm thinking to return this motherboard since i have 2more days to do it, and buy an MSI again or a Asus. But the last MSI I have was 3years ago, don't know how are they now. My last MSI was an H310M PRO-M2 PLUS, a super entry level motherboard, but always worked Flawlessly with a great performance and stability, and with a very Good UEFI BIOS and configuration options !
If anyone got ideas, from what can be, I would appreciate. Since I search and tested everything and don't find nothing that tells me the cause.

2023.06.10 05:36 thicctibu AITA for wanting to sell my husband's dream car?

For some backstory, my husband (29M) joined the service, he bought an expensive car with no financial advice. A 33k 2017 Subaru STI to be exact. When I (25F) met him a few years later, he was broke as dirt, eating ramen all because of a high car payment of 650 a month at only 25ish years old. Well, the fateful day came that the motor blew. The car had only 60k miles left on it and 20k left on the loan. What we discovered after the car was tuned (the warranty was up at the time of tuning by this point) was that Subaru issued a recall on the piston heads. We didn't qualify because my husband tampered with the car. This was back in 2021.
Fast forward to 2022, we finally get the car to a trustworthy mechanic. We expected this build to be about 15-17k. I saw ads for cars just like his going for 43-47k stock from the wild used car market. So to me, I don't mind cutting my losses at a few grand and sell it. I mean that sucks but I can handle that.
Keep in mind our relationship is amazing on every other level - we're happily married, and he treats me like a queen. He's an amazing man who fought with everything he had to come home to me while he was deployed, and he almost didn't. He's been left with a laundry list of disabilities. I wanted to be able to provide for him after he separated so that he could have a break. He deserves one. So, the bills began snowballing. By the time the car was done, it has cost us over 28k. On the repairs. Nothing else. Not the loan interest, not the car itself. I also learned today that my husband's mods are partly responsible for this.
Now of course he doesn't want to sell, and I get it. It's his dream car. He loves it and I understand - it's his baby. And it's a beautiful beast of a car that's gonna be putting down like 500 something horsepower in a lightweight missile.
So now let's flip this to my side. I've worked so much overtime, come in the middle of the night to work, and just worked my tail off in that hospital. Every dime I made last year went to his car and to that savings account that began draining slowly while he stayed home. I even ended up in a psych ward from lack of sleep too much stress. I've given up getting my dream car, and we live in a trashy duplex that hasn't been remodeled since the 60s. Black mold, 15 year old carpet that's disgusting. I'm driving a ticking time bomb, an Altima with 200k miles, of which it is a miracle that the cvt hasn't exploded. It has no AC and you can't shift out of park without a screwdriver.
The only thing we ever argue about is money. I can't afford to keep up with his car and change our financial situation, and honestly in the end I'm so tired of worrying. I hate that car now. If we talk about it, it always ends up in a pissing match that goes nowhere.
So now that you've heard it all... AITA for wanting to sell? 😞

2023.06.10 05:32 Riptomare Please help me consider, Traxxas UDR with Velineon VXL-8S and The Castle 1520-1650KV motor

Basically, just as the title says... would this work? There's not a lot of information on the exact specs of the VXL-8S. Could it run this motor? This motor is the right dimensions to fit in the UDR without modification.
Here's the links to take a look:
https://www.castlecreations.com/en/castle-1520-sensored-motor-1650kv-with-motor-fan-060-0075-00
https://www.amainhobbies.com/traxxas-xmaxx-velineon-vxl8s-waterproof-esc-tra3496/p659995
There is even less specs on the VXL-8s on the Traxxas website...
But why not just upgrade to the Mamba Monster X 8s ESC? I want to keep my light kit without wiring into the balance plug on a lipo. I have tons of Traxxas batteries and multiple Traxxas chargers and they work just fine for me, so I dont want to change battery brands. I just want cooler temps on the motor(primarily as it gets really hot!) and ESC with maybe some performance gain. I still only plan to run on 6s. Gearing may get played with once I get it all running together.
Alternatively I might look into running a separate nimh battery just for the light kit and mount it within the chassis... charging would be a pain in the butt... just spitballin my options!
I'm just trying to have a plan for when my stock VXL-6s dies on me... Under utilized VXL-8s should be more reliable than the VXL-6s, right???
Thank you for any input. No pressure, if you know something on the subject, please chime in and help me bounce ideas!

2023.06.10 05:31 Standard-Ad-8151 i5 - High CPU usage and Random High Fan RPM's

Is it from Windows ? Motherboard issues ? the CPU ?
If anyone got ideas, from what can be, I would appreciate. Since I search and tested everything and don't find nothing that tells me the cause.

2023.06.10 05:09 Standard-Ad-8151 i5 - High CPU usage and Random High Fan RPM's

2023.06.10 05:03 Standard-Ad-8151 High CPU usage and Cooler CPU FAN random RPM'S

I bought a i5 12400f to upgrade my PC, with a fresh windows install 2 weeks ago. I have not much programs installed, only the basics.
Its happening that the Cooler Fan is performing totally with random RPM's speeds, the Fan is "quiet" in one moment, and by nothing Ramp UP Hardly. The Fan ramp Up, and Ramp down continuously.
https://streamable.com/523h6e Yeah, this is my CPU Fan Cooler "normal" working behaviour, with low cpu usage lol. When I open a Tab/Browser, or even a Folder, the Fan Speed up like a F1 motor. PS: and my phone doesn't catch the sound well. I can assure that, in person is 20x worst. And, at night, its impossible to have the PC Turned On. And this Fan Noise, it's with the Silent/Manual (super) Soft Fan Curve, because if I use the Default Fan curve on Bios, its almost an airplane noise.
I've search on youtube for cooler review, and i checked a video precisely with the same CPU and Cooler Fan, and the noise difference and Behaviour, is simply HUGE: https://youtu.be/yhKBABCfmpk?t=240 this is, how is supposed the Fan perform, and noise levels. Comparing with this video, my Fan looks like it was always at Full speed - at noise comparison.
Many times, when i check the Task Manager, i see windows tasks using a LOT of CPU... photos attached. ( maybe its this that ramp up the CPU fan !!??!?! weird ) On my older Setup, a 9400F a CPU with half performance, compared with the actual 12400F, i've never had any issue, neither Fan Noise, neither High CPU usage.
I've made all possible test's, search online, and i've got no conclusion. On CPU test's everything is working good, it passes all test's. I've already have a smooth Fan Curve on BIOS for the Fan Cooler - with the Standard Fan curve profile, PC looks like a airplane. The noise is less, but the Fan its not matching the work as supposed to done, since CPU is getting High usage from windows tasks.
Many times CPU reaches 50-60% of usage, while on IDLE, or using windows only, sometimes browsing also. I think that its not normal, since before this 12400F, i've got a 9400F ( half performance CPU ), but always worked properly, Fan ramping up when the CPU was truly in use, never seen the CPU with High usage with no Reason ( or idle ), etc. Sometimes, the CPU reaches 90/100% only in windows with a browser opened.
Or worst: Many times i have the PC turned ON, without using it, so its totally IDLE. I was sit on my bedroom ( at some distance from the PC), and (by nothing) I listen the FAN ramping up Hard... like !?!? I'm not even using the PC... lol its on idle, there are no programs running. How the Fan ramp up like if i was using the CPU heavily ? PS: I have a PC Case well good refrigerated ( tbh, due to this problem, and to test, the PC Case its even opened - But No differences ).
Could anyone tell me from what to start ? Any ideas about this problems ?
PS: I've tested everything, search and research, but got no solutions. I've checked for Virus, Spyware, etc, and its totally clean. Windows has 2weeks from the Fresh installation, and i have no many programs installed. I also checked every possible Windows errors/problems, but without luck.
Is Windows with any "weird" problem ? or its a Motherboard or CPU Problem ? Is this normal on this i5 CPU ? Noise and CPU Usage ? I presume that this is not normal at all. Since with the exact same kind of usage, my old 9400F never behave like this, with huge CPU usage while on IDLE, neither a crazy Fan noise, and without this spiking fan speeds.

Advice for removing mini split blower wheel
Mitsubishi MSZGL12NA
TL;DR is there a trick to getting the drain pan to safely move more out of the way at this point to access the screw to remove the blower wheel?
Ok ok... so I finally conquered my fear of trying to remove a blower wheel myself. I was close...but I got too scared of breaking something.
I had the cover off and drain pan lowered but I wasn't successful in trying to copy a YouTube video entirely. I had the control module disconnected but I was still afraid of damaging it. I was just feeling resistance on trying to lower it any more. I didn't want to try and disconnect it entirely from the hose.
Am I safe to conquer my fear just a little bit more and just move it some more or is there some trick I'm missing? I was close but couldn't fit the screwdriver in well enough to access the screw on the wheel. I'd feel a lot better about it if the module could just be unplugged and removed but I didn't see any plug on it. I'd be feeling pretty dumb if I rendered a dirty but working unit inoperable by my own incompetence.
The videos I watched were helpful but moved too quickly and didn't explain required finess I think. That part they always kind of skipped past.
My whole mission here is thoroughly cleaning the wheel and around it. Super moldy and dusty. Is there a safe way to like spray it while it's in the unit that cleans it well enough? I guess I still wouldn't be able to clean behind the wheel but remove a lot of crud that way. I considered just spraying with water but wasn't going to do so without knowing if that's OK to do.
I only felt comfortable wiping and vacuuming with a small attachment at that point but I sure didn't get everything. A lot but not all. I suspect the previous owner had the fins cleaned but potentially never the wheel or around it. Maybe didn't keep filters clean either.

Can't get rumble to work on xbox one controller Bluetooth on dolphin emulator android.
I connected my Xbox one wireless controller to my phone via Bluetooth and rumble does not work. It only vibrates my phones vibration motor and not my controllers rumble motor. Does anyone know how to get rumble working on my Xbox Wireless Controller? This might not help but my phone is a samsung note 9, snapdragon 845, adreno 630. Here's a screenshot

2023.06.10 04:26 Simple-Young6947 Can I afford a pleasure vehicle?

My wife and I are 40. Two children in public grade school. Gross household income is $200,000. Net is $116,000 after insurance and retirement contributions.
I've always wanted a Jeep Wrangler as a "summer car". and my wife says I should "live a little" and not be like my father, who refuses to spend his money on anything. My in-laws farm and I can keep the "other car" there during the season I'm not using it for.
Assets:
Debt/Expenses
I would probably put down $5,000-8,000 and take out a loan on the rest. Max payment would be $350/month. Logicistically I'm not worried about it, I am wondering if it is something we can afford. Thanks!

2023.06.10 04:25 xThyArtIsMurderx I don’t know what to do, not making ends meet.

So I’ve been doing body work about 5 years, started off as a wash boy at a franchise and got promoted because the regional manger liked my attitude. Long story short franchise was great, it was in a big city but had a kid so I had to move where the mom is so I could do my part as a dad. Well in my small town I’m in I worked for a independent shop, it was great, boss was a dick but he ran his place like a sewing machine and I never worried about money, wasn’t rich or even well off by no means but I could pay my bills and fix my truck ect. Well he got old and after 3 years of working with him he closed the shop. I went to another shop and that guy was a butcher, so after seeing all the horrid shit he was trying to pull I went to a dealership, it was great for about 6 months but all of a sudden work started sucking. We keep doing the most random shit now for little money, especially if it’s for the lot. And example we had a jeep on the lift for 4 days to get all the surface rust off the rails and suspension parts then paint it with trim black in a can, I mean just dumb shit like this more and more as the days pass on. Now no body is making ends meet. My boss got the word I was leaving and asked why I was leaving, I said cause I’m not making ends meet and he said some typical manger bullshit about there’s plenty of work but I asked today at lunch time for more work and oh guess what ‘I don’t have anything else’ and we are supposedly booked out til November. But since it’s such a small town the closest body shop is about 45 mins away but it seems like the autobody industry is only getting worse so far as pay and hours (53 an hour where I’m at) so what should I do? I like body work but all this has just made me want to do something else but I have no idea where to even look. My only quality that doesn’t pertain solely to body work is I can weld pretty damn good. Suggestions?

2023.06.10 04:12 tiredofsametab Taking delivery of a bike in late July. I have a few questions, please

This will be my first bike. I've only ridden during the training course at a driving school, but was pretty comfortable by the end with handling and such, but will be starting off slow and steady on the roads. Here's the bike I'm getting: https://www.kawasaki-motors.com/mc/lineup/eliminato
My main purpose in buying this is relaxing drives, the odd Costco run (I normally just by bacon and cheese, so nothing bulky or super heavy), and going camping. I already bought a bag and such for the purpose of camping, and will probably buy some panniers for everyday usage.
First: what is always on your bike? I plan on getting a tubeless tire puncture kit and some pliers. I don't know if the bike comes with any tools. If not, I will need to buy a tool kit of some sort. I will also probably have some sort of rain gear I can toss on in a hurry.
One thing it won't come with that I want is a first aid kit. Any recommendations for pre-packaged?
Is there anything else I should always have on the bike?
Second: On the website above, there are various options to install. I bought my own drive recorder. I was thinking about the various options listed on the above page, specifically: リヤキャリア and 電装アクセサリー用リレー. My questions are:
For insurance, I'll see what the dealership offers and compare to tokaido marine getting whichever one seems better. I will probably join JAF as well.
Thanks so much!

2023.06.10 03:56 Unanimous_Seps Chasing down AC/Heat fan issues; what am I missing?

My 2008 X recently dropped the AC/Heat, beginning with some fan speeds not working, or not working with the AC on. I had a couple of very similar issues when I first bought it (an aftermarket stereo I inherited with the car was grounding out) and I was able to fix it quickly by swapping the climate control dash unit.
Having similar problems 10+ years later, I began checking all fuses throughout the interior and engine. I then replaced the dash unit and decided to rewire the stereo console by removing the black taped ends and replacing them with plugs in case of another grounding issue. I chased the wires to the blower motor resistor and replaced that. Still nothing, so I replaced the blower motor itself. No luck.
I am out of ideas as to what else it could be, and the few youtube videos I can dig up are for the 99-2004 XTerras. Does anyone experience this or have suggestions on how to address it?

2023.06.10 03:43 -White_Lightning- Loud clunk, Tow truck, No start, maybe Fuel Pump?

1997 cherokee XJ 4.0L.
So a few weeks ago on my drive into work, I was speeding up to get onto the highway when there was a loud clunk from the rear of my xj. I lost all power to accelerate and i pulled over and shut it off. While waiting for the tow truck I looked around and there was no obvious damage. No leaks, no broken pieces, no smoke. Nothing.
Once home I checked all of the fluids and they were full and clean. I looked under the jeep and didn't find anything broken, as well as nothing broken under the hood (that I can tell). I checked all of the spark plugs and they are worn, but not damaged or by a piston head or anything.
Right now I simply can't get it to start back up. It'll crank and sputter but I get nothing. I'll give it some gas and it seems to sputter a little more, like it's right on the cusp of turning over, but still nothing.
I bought a fuel injection pressure tester and found out that when I turn the jeep on it'll pressurize up to 45psi, but begin dropping very quickly (down to 20psi in 10 seconds or less). So I'm thinking fuel pump perhaps? Maybe fuel filter is also a factor?
One other thing, I was draining some fuel from the fuel rail using the same tester, and I bypassed the fuel pump to do so. With it bypassed the pressure would be steady at 45psi, and steady at 20psi when draining. Not sure if this helps.
Any ideas would be great.
Thanks!
Edit: there are no codes being thrown currently.

I wish, my Fan run so smoothly and constant,
The video show's a "little" of the random RPM's i am talking about, with windows idle, closed programs, just opening/switching between folder's, but I can say that usually is worst than the video, and phone mic it not capture the best sound, personally the FAN noise is much more aggressive, and usually the RPM'S are worst, (VERY) annoying and uncomfortable, Specially at night : https://streamable.com/523h6e
Because, if I let the default Profile "Normal Fan", the problem is even worst, and the noise its impossible to stay near the PC, it's an airplane noise.
I've contacted Gigabyte and they just simple ignore the questions. Told me to take the board to warranty.
If anyone got ideas, from what can be, I would appreciate. Since I search everything and don't find nothing that tells the cause.
My last MSI was an H310M PRO-M2 PLUS, a super entry level motherboard, but always worked Flawlessly with a great performance and stability, and with a very Good UEFI BIOS and options configurations!

Considering buying an imported 2 door LC Prado. It’s an automatic, a gasser, no rust at all. It’s got the 5VZ FE. 59k miles, not km
I’m no gear head, don’t do my own work as I’m far from mechanically inclined however I am a vehicle nerd in general. Is there anything I should know about these trucks/motors reliability/age wise before buying?
