2023.06.09 16:58 MainRadiance 28[F4R] Laugh our asses off until we piss our pants (Gianmarco Soresi Show)

Are you depressed? Because I sure am! So I'm seeking the best medicine out there — which apparently is laughter and therapy. Then I thought, "why not go to a comedy show/stand up?" Haven't found the perfect opportunity yet until I came across Gianmarco Soresi's YouTube bits and I really like his humour! This is my favourite clip from him: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/-9nU84P8arE
Turns out he is performing here in Toronto on June 21st at Comedy Bar Danforth. First show is already sold out (I mean this guy is funny, so I'm not surprised!) and the second show is at 9:30PM. Here are more deets: https://comedybar.ca/shows/gianmarco-soresi
Now, you may be wondering why I'm posting this on Reddit. Well, my friends are either busy or they don't really like comedy shows. While I'm cool going alone and have done so for other events, I can't help but share a laugh or two with someone/a group. And that's where you come in! Are you into dark humour? Maybe you also like Gianmarco? Maybe you're already going? Would you like to make a new friend? Anyway, I'm looking to go with someone or a small group! Well, unless the wildfire get even wilder, then maybe we can consider not going.
About me: adventurous ambivert tech professional who enjoys watching Blue Jays, playing casual games, going to events and movies, and chilling in general. You may have guessed it but I do have self-deprecating and wicked sense of humour, although I would never say it to mean harm to anyone (unless it's myself).
I absolutely love to get to know people and make friends! I've also met Redditors before and have made solid connections here. If this event sounds fun to you and would like to go, please feel free to shoot me a message about you along with your favourite Gianmarco video.
Have a great weekend!

2023.06.09 16:58 redddd_it How much would you pay?

Taylor Swift is in my hometown this weekend, and ticket prices are $1200 for nosebleed seats on the secondary market. Although I think that's crazy, it got me to thinking. How much would I be willing to pay to see Daft Punk live? My answer, whatever it takes. So I guess I can relate to the Swifties in a way. 😂

2023.06.09 16:58 SpartEng76 Honeymoon phase is over, now I just feel lied to

I (40s M) have been dating my GF (40s F) for almost 2 years now. For context, she has 2 teenagers at home every other week, I have zero kids. When we met there was an instant connection and we just clicked on many levels. She was everything I wanted, she was always saying nice things like how she couldn't wait to spend the rest of our lives together, she was very affectionate, and even when she was busy she would make me feel wanted.
These days it's like the total opposite. Not much affection or sex, and never really says anything nice or mentions the future like she used to. We still exchange I love yous almost daily and when she doesn't have the kids we usually spend the nights together. But instead of cuddling on the couch, she just wants to play with her phone.
I've spent holidays and vacations with her and the kids, some sporting events, things like that. But usually when she has the kids I don't get invited over because she's too busy or just values her alone time with them. She doesn't even seem to really miss me when we don't see each other for a whole week. And that's fine, I'm in no rush to get married again, it's just weird that she was all about planning a future together but now there's zero indication of that.
So I get that the honeymoon phase never lasts forever, but this total 180 is really messing with me. I can't tell if I got "love bombed", she's just not that into me anymore, or she's finally showing me her true colors. Maybe I'm guilty of pulling back a bit too, but not nearly as much. It really just sucks because I know how great things could be, but now it's nothing like that.

Delusional
First time post here, but I had to share this as the integrity of the people I work for has been falling hard lately.
My company sent out a newsletter asking for free volunteers for an all day event in a city 3 hours away, for $50 in gas that doesn’t even cover the trip and a free lunch, event ends at 9pm with no free accommodation so you would get to drive back and be home at midnight yay.

2023.06.09 16:58 Due_Feed_7512 How do you handle exclusionary coworkers?

On my immediate team, there are 8 women. We all do different roles but are in the same general department. 6 of the women on our team are actively excluding one other coworker and I from events/meetings inside and outside of the office.
I know people will have relationships outside of work which are none of my business, but they actively talk about those plans during our workday. For example: They recently discussed the party they’re all invited to at x coworkers house, share leftovers from said party & talk about stories from the party in communal settings. They will set meetings to discuss things without including my other coworker and I. They gifted a retiring coworker something at work as a group without including either of us.
I’m at a loss with how to handle this situation because I’m not getting any feedback from any of them about things they dislike or things that have upset them that I have done. My manager and I do not have a great relationship and I feel like she has influenced their opinions of me and my coworker, but that’s just my assumption. I have about 18 other coworkers which are all men who I get along with very well and have no issues with.
This really might be the straw that breaks the camels back because this working environment is toxic

2023.06.09 16:57 woolen_goose I need a pep talk from y’all, I’m hurting and confused. My life is getting better but it is actually making more sad to realize my relationship is over.

Title says most of it.
Why as my life gets back on track and I feel further from my expwBPD do I get more sad that our time together is further and further in the past?
I keep finding out more horrible secrets he had during our time together but I find myself romanticizing the past at random still.
Everything reminds me of him. Every little life thing we did together haunts me around the house as I continue with many of these things on my own.
My friend came to move his items to the basement for pick-up this weekend. During the boxing and moving, I recounted some of the scariest moments. I felt anger but also relief.
Afterwards, I was hanging out with my friend and had a great time. My expwBPD had me so isolated I had only seen people on my own twice in two years. It was enjoyable and healthy. And I’m supposed to see friends tonight too.
But then I try to sleep and I missed my ex.
I was sad he won’t be here for my good life (even though my life had become bad only because of him).
How do you all handle this?
Why do I miss someone so terrible to me?
Why is healthiness and happiness making me feel like I’m a crazy person doubting my decision to go NC?
I woke up today with the same feelings. I really need help and advice.

Conclusion 🏁
The number of incidents involving tourists in Mexico from 2015 to 2023 totaled to 202 casualties, which includes fatalities and injuries. Each event can be linked to various factors such as gang violence, road safety issues, and maritime accidents. Travelers should exercise caution, particularly in areas prone to these types of incidents.
The conclusion shouldn't be to avoid traveling to Mexico, but rather to remain vigilant, do your research, and be aware of your surroundings. Remember, millions of tourists visit Mexico each year without incident, and these statistics represent a small fraction of travelers' experiences.
Interesting Insights 🧐
  1. Transportation Risks 🚍: Three of the eight listed incidents are bus crashes, implying that road travel may carry significant risks.
  2. Location-Specific Dangers 📍: Incidents have occurred in various locations, from bustling cities to serene beach resorts. Travelers should stay informed about the specific safety conditions of their destination, including local crime rates, and consider potential risks even in places generally considered safe.
  3. Links to Local Issues 💥: Several incidents appear to be related to local issues such as cartel disputes and local criminal activity. Awareness and understanding of the local context are therefore important when traveling to these areas. It might be beneficial to stay informed about local news and stay away from high-risk areas.
Analysis 📈
From 2015 to 2023, approximately 280 million tourists visited Mexico. The number of unnatural casualties among tourists during this period amounts to a mere 0.000072%. This figure is quite small when you put it into perspective.
To give an example, the National Safety Council estimates the lifetime odds of dying from an accidental injury in general is 1 in 36 in the U.S., which is significantly higher. In fact, you are more likely to be struck by lightning (1 in 161,856) than to be a casualty as a tourist in Mexico due to these incidents.
Taking this into consideration, along with the steps that Mexico has taken to ensure the safety of its visitors, such as increased security in tourist areas and improved infrastructure, one might rate Mexico 8 out of 10 for safety. There's always room for improvement, but generally, traveling to Mexico is no more dangerous than visiting any other popular tourist destination when considering these statistics.
Always remember, however, individual safety often comes down to personal decisions and behaviors. Staying alert, informed, and following local laws and customs significantly reduces the risk of mishaps, wherever you may travel. 🧳🌍

2023.06.09 16:57 AutoModerator Watch ‘The Boogeyman’ (2023) Free Online >Reddit<

Horror Movies! Here are options for downloading or watching The Boogeyman streaming the full movie online for free on 123movies & Reddit, including where to watch Stephen King’s horror adaptation movie at home. Is The Boogeyman 2023 available to stream? Is watching The Boogeyman on Disney Plus, HBO Max, Netflix, or Amazon Prime? Yes, we have found an authentic streaming option / service.

“The Boogeyman,” a horror-thriller from the mind of best-selling author Stephen King, opens June 2, 2023, in theaters nationwide. High school student Sadie Harper and her younger sister Sawyer are reeling from the recent death of their mother and aren’t getting much support from their father, Will, a therapist who is dealing with his own pain. When a desperate patient unexpectedly shows up at their home seeking help, he leaves behind a terrifying supernatural entity that preys on families and feeds on the suffering of its victims.
The Boogeyman (2023) is the latest adaptation of the Stephen King classic. Here’s when and where you can watch the horror flick.
It’s not real? Keep telling yourself that! For the first time since 2022’s Firestarter, the legendary master of horror Stephen King, will have yet another one of his classic tales told with The Boogeyman. Directed by Host filmmaker Rob Savage and based on King’s short story of the same name, this terrifying story follows a young girl named Sawyer (Vivien Lyra Blair) as she is tormented by a malicious monster known only as “The Boogeyman.” What first sounds like a simple case of a child being afraid of the dark to Sawyer’s sister Sadie (Sophie Thatcher) and father Will (Chris Messina) turns out to be anything but, as this children’s tale turns out to be very real and very dangerous.
Stephen King adaptations are infamous for their variations in quality. For every masterpiece like The Shining, Misery, and The Shawshank Redemption, there’s an adaption less than stellar like Sleepwalkers, Maximum Overdrive, and Cell. In the case of The Boogeyman, it thankfully looks like we’re getting one of the better cases of a Stephen King story. Following its premiere at CinemaCon 2023, reactions to The Boogeyman have generally been quite positive, with Collider’s own Chase Hutchinson describing the film as a “frequently petrifying” adaptation.
The Boogeyman follows Sadie Harper and her young sister Sawyer after the recent death of their mother. Sadly, their father, Will, is not able to give them any sort of support through this as he is dealing with the death in his own way. A stranger comes knocking, claiming to need help from Will, who is a therapist, but what they allow inside their home is an evil entity.
With a strong start through decent reviews, The Boogeyman is bound to attract dedicated members of the horror film community. To learn more about how you can see Stephen King’s nightmare come to life, here is exactly where and how you can watch The Boogeyman.

When is the Release Date for The Boogeyman?
Make sure you got plenty of batteries for your nightlight ready by next month because The Boogeyman will officially begin terrifying audiences everywhere starting on Friday, June 2nd, 2023. However, check your local theater listings for advanced screenings, as some theaters release the film as early as Wednesday evening on May 31st, 2023. Any parents eager to take their kids to go see Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse that same weekend should definitely make sure they’re walking into the proper theater, so they don’t accidentally scar their children for life with the titular monster.

Is The Boogeyman in Theaters?
The only way to see Chris Messina take on a child-hunting monster is to head to your local movie theater, making the Boogeyman’s torment of the Harper family only viewable on the big screen. No plans for a streaming release have been made, but more on that in a moment.

Where To Watch The Boogeyman Online:
➤►▶((>W𝘢𝘵𝘤𝘩 On Reddit: The Boogeyman 𝘍𝘶𝘭𝘭 𝘔𝘰𝘷𝘪𝘦 on Free Online< 𝘌𝘯𝘫𝘰𝘺The Movie))
As of now, the only way to watch The Boogeyman is to head out to a movie theater when it releases on Friday, June 2. You can find a local showing on Fandango.
Otherwise, you’ll just have to wait for it to become available to rent or purchase on digital platforms like Amazon, Vudu, YouTube and Apple, or become available to stream on Hulu.
The Boogeyman
How to Watch The Boogeyman
There’s been no official announcement regarding The Boogeyman’s streaming release date, though we know it will eventually be released on Disney+, rather than Netflix or HBO Max.
Since the movie was originally supposed to have a streaming release, we don’t doubt it will become available on streaming services at some point, with the most likely being Hulu since that had been the plan to begin with.
That would be Hulu. Don’t hold your breath on it, though! We strongly believe this is where the 20th Century Studios film will go, but this won’t be for a couple of months (or more) after the movie’s theatrical release. As soon as we learn more details, we’ll update you!
1 gummie (dagelijks). Op de derde dag past je zwempak niet meer!
When Will The Boogeyman Be On Streaming?
While no official streaming plans have been released by 20th Century Studios as of yet, given the recent release patterns of other films under the ownership of The Walt Disney Company, we can likely expect to see The Boogeyman arrive on streaming no more than ninety days after its theatrical release. Given that the horror film is a 20th Century Studios production and monsters eating children isn’t exactly “Happiest Place on Earth” material, The Boogeyman will likely be making its streaming home on Hulu rather than Disney+ (at least, for now).
Before we get into the various pricing plans for Hulu, we should also mention that The Walt Disney Company is confirmed to be planning a merge between Disney+ and Hulu, effectively putting all the massive media conglomerate’s content under one roof by the end of the year 2023. No specific date for this merger has been given yet, but the company has already begun purging their least profitable content to prepare for the transition. With that information in mind, the following subscription options for Hulu may not be valid for long, so be sure to be cognizant of that before signing up.
As of now, Hulu has two subscription plans: an ad-supported and ad-free plan. The ad-supported option offers most of Hulu’s streaming library with limited ads for $7.99 USD per month or $79.99 USD per year. The ad-free option removes most ads for a higher price of $14.99 USD per month. There are also the Disney Bundle options, including Disney+ and/or ESPN+ in addition to Hulu, but these will likely be reworked or removed entirely in the coming months with the upcoming merger.

Is The Boogeyman on Netflix?
The Boogeyman isn’t currently available on Netflix, but you can catch it in theaters from June 2, 2023.
However, there is a great selection of Netflix horror movies, so you’ll still be able to find plenty to be scared of on the platform. And if you don’t currently have the service, we’ve got all you need to know about the Netflix price.
1 gummie (dagelijks). Op de derde dag past je zwempak niet meer!
Will The Boogeyman Be On HBO Max?
No, The Boogeyman will not be on HBO Max since it’s not a Universal Pictures movie. Last year, the company released its films in theaters and on the streamer on the same day. However, they now allow a 45-day window between the theatrical release and the streaming release.
1 gummie (dagelijks). Op de derde dag past je zwempak niet meer!
Is The Boogeyman on Disney Plus?
The Boogeyman isn’t currently available on Disney Plus, given that it’s showing exclusively in theaters for now.
It’s also probably not going to end up on there, since Disney Plus isn’t well-known for its horror catalog. That said, it may end up being the option for UK subscribers since Hulu and Disney content often merge for UK-based viewers. There are also plenty of Disney Plus movies and Disney Plus shows you can get stuck into otherwise.

Is The Boogeyman on Prime Video?
The Boogeyman isn’t available to watch on Prime Video right now, but we’ll let you know if it does end up getting distribution there. If you’d like to see what else Prime has to offer, you can sign up for a free trial subscription here.

Is The Boogeyman Available On Hulu?
Viewers are saying that they want to view the new horror movie The Boogeyman on Hulu. Unfortunately, this is not possible since Hulu currently does not offer any of the free episodes of this series streaming at this time. 2023.06.09 16:57 bobbykid The Jakarta Method isn’t a good book

I wanted to get this off my chest before reddit becomes shitty from the stupid API thing and everyone (including myself) permanently leaves and starts playing sports or something.
The author of this book, Vincent Bevins, was on a great episode of the podcast, and in general the book is widely-recommended on this subreddit. I decided to give it a go and honestly I was pretty disappointed. It might be an eye-opening read for liberals or people just starting to become radicalized, but I don’t think the book really has anything to offer if you’re already a communist and you already accept the idea that the US sponsors murder, torture, and terror to achieve its geopolitical, economic, and ideological goals.
The book is mostly just a long recounting of horrifying events, with some comments on how the “Jakarta method” was repeated in countries after its categorical success in Indonesia. It describes false flag events, aggressive psy-ops, terrifying kidnappings, torture, and mass murder of suspected left-wingers, and it points to instances of collaboration between the CIA and the regimes that were carrying out these tactics. But if you’re a Trueanon listener, or even if you’ve just like listened to a couple of Parenti lectures and know some stuff about 20th century history, none of this is going to surprise you. You don’t need to read a fucking 300 page book to get the point that the ruling class does this shit.
Maybe I’ve badly misread it but the author seems to approach this whole thing from the most liberal and moralistic perspective possible. To the very end, he seems really honestly surprised that any of this stuff happened, as if he thinks using violence and terror to crush opposition to capitalist imperialist hegemony wasn’t inevitable, even after spending years researching the way that this happened in numerous countries.
Although the factual conclusion is correct - that violent counterinsurgency tactics destroyed anti-imperialist movements around the world and shaped the world as it is currently - the political conclusion is almost non-existent. It’s all just “wow, can you believe how brutal the imperialists and their collaborators actually were, it’s awful, those bastards, anyway now the developing world is all messed up, what a sad thing”. There’s essentially no materialist analysis, or even anything that kind of resembles materialist analysis, in the entire book.
I’ve seen a passage (which I’ll quote here in a bit) posted in some leftist subs and maybe even here where Bevins talks about how the leftwing movements might have survived if they had taken an armed and militant approach. The thing is, if you pay attention to the tone with which he discusses this, you'll see that he hasn't internalized this concept at all. Here’s where he talks about the viability of non-violent leftwing politics, starting on p. 256:
The fourth way that anticommunist extermination programs shaped the world is that they deformed the world socialist movement. Many of the global left-wing groups that did survive the twentieth century decided that they had to employ violence and jealously guard power or face annihilation. When they saw the mass murders taking place in these countries, it changed them. Maybe US citizens weren’t paying close attention to what happened in Guatemala, or Indonesia. But other leftists around the world definitely were watching. When the world’s largest Communist Party without an army or dictatorial control of a country was massacred, one by one, with no consequences for the murderers, many people around the world drew lessons from this, with serious consequences.
This was another very difficult question I had to ask my interview subjects, especially the leftists from Southeast Asia and Latin America. When we would get to discussing the old debates between peaceful and armed revolution; between hardline Marxism and democratic socialism, I would ask: “Who was right?”
In Guatemala, was it Árbenz or Che who had the right approach? Or in Indonesia, when Mao warned Aidit that the PKI should arm themselves, and they did not? In Chile, was it the young revolutionaries in the MIR who were right in those college debates, or the more disciplined, moderate Chilean Communist Party?
Most of the people I spoke with who were politically involved back then believed fervently in a nonviolent approach, in gradual, peaceful, democratic change. They often had no love for the systems set up by people like Mao. But they knew that their side had lost the debate, because so many of their friends were dead. They often admitted, without hesitation or pleasure, that the hardliners had been right. Aidit’s unarmed party didn’t survive. Allende’s democratic socialism was not allowed, regardless of the détente between the Soviets and Washington.
Looking at it this way, the major losers of the twentieth century were those who believed too sincerely in the existence a liberal international order, those who trusted too much in democracy, or too much in what the United States said it supported, rather than what it really supported—what the rich countries said, rather than what they did. That group was annihilated.
It’s very obvious to me here that the author thinks non-violent anti-imperialist struggle is morally preferable, and it also kind of seems like he thinks it should still be viable, and that it’s only because of the particular historical events in his book that it contingently non-viable. This guy traveled around the world reading and hearing about some of the most heartbreaking, gut-wrenching acts of political violence, specifically and singularly directed at socialist groups, and he still doesn't conclude that armed struggle is politically necessary, and he thinks it's sad that other people did conclude that. I’m bewildered.
Or maybe I’m misunderstanding his tone and his insinuations here, I don’t know.
Anyway even though I made this big long post, I’m not mad about the book or anything, libs are gonna be libs after all. But I thought I would give an alternative perspective since the book enjoys such high acclaim on this sub. Honestly I would probably have preferred to spend my time reading a different book.

2023.06.09 16:57 LingonberryInside937 Asking to Split Check 2 Days After Date

I (F 45) have been dating a M (31) for about 4 months. Our economic situations are fairly similar in that we're both on rather strict budgets. For the most part, when we go out we split things based on the costs of our meals (his insistence). I don't have too much of an issue with this, but it would be nice for one of us to treat the other every now and then (I've treated him by paying for dinner once). At any rate we went to a restaurant where it was an order in one part and seat yourself kinda deal. I grabbed the table and told him what I wanted. He ordered and brought the food to our table. I asked him how much I owed him; however, apparently he didn't hear me. We had a nice dinner, shared food and he even sipped some of my alcoholic beverage I grabbed from the bar (he did not want one). Here's the rub: he's not a big texter. He rarely initiates texts, but promptly and enthusiastically responds. Two days after the date I wake up to a text from him asking if I could Zelle my portion of dinner. Nothing more. To say I was disappointed is an understatement. I Zelled him and explained I did ask him what I owed and when he didn't answer I thought he was treating me. I'm seeing him this weekend and could use some advice on how to tactfully address this. It isn't about the money, it's the manner in which it was done. TIA!

2023.06.09 16:56 vein_tub I am a 15 year old addict and I sold myself for drugs

I'm a 15 year old girl I have a pill and alcohol addiction. I am now 136 days sober now. When I was 13 I was smoking a lot of weed and drinking heavily on the weekends and occasionally take pills. My best friend Meyson had this really creepy older guy that was friends with his family he was a drug dealer. I should've seen the signs when he would give me free dime bags. Anthony ( my old dealer ) never made me pay for my shit. This one morning I texted him asking for a free dime bag and he said yeah and that he was going to pull up in a minute. I got into his car and he started driving. I assumed he was just going to drive around the block and drop me back off he didn't. Anthony drove out of my trailer park and when he stopped at the light he handed me a half ounce and jungle juice ( tequila infused fruit ) I drank all of the tequila and I was pretty fucked up. I thought I was just going with him for a drug run which I've done before. Anthony drove me to a local Cemetery and raped me. Afterwards he drove to my friend Meysons house and we both walked him. Anthony started joking around with Meysons family like he didn't just commit an evil act I stayed in my friends room and just cried. At 15 I was deep into addiction I was drinking and taking muscle relaxers every night and other shit occasionally. I was really dope sick one night and going through alcohol withdrawal. I texted Anthony and asked for drugs and alcohol and in return I let him rape me multiple times a week just to survive. My withdrawals were one of the worst things I've experienced. I let him take something that didn't belong to him so many times and I blame my addiction and myself everyday for it. I tell this story to show people who aren't addicts that addiction is truly a horrible disease and it makes you do things you would never do sober. If you're struggling with addiction please get help you are not alone and don't be afraid to come forward and share your experiences. You will never get better unless you try. Drinking a fifth crying on the floor is not healing bitches.

2023.06.09 16:56 Dead-Sync KeyForge in Connecticut - Winds of Exchange Prerelease!

KeyForge in Connecticut - Winds of Exchange Prerelease!
Attention Archons of CT: KeyForge is not just coming back, it's BEEN back!
The Ethereal Lounge is a new LGS that opened a few months ago in Shelton, CT ( ~15min from Bridgeport, and ~20min from New Haven and Waterbury). Since their opening, I've been working with the store owners to run monthly KeyForge tournaments of various formats and sets, and we've been building our player base each time. (We also have casual KeyForge meets on many Thursdays, organized ad-hoc through the store's Discord server)
We've run three monthly tournaments so far since the store's opening; new players have joined each time and there has been genuine excitement and interest building about this 'new game' they've discovered! Some veteran players have come out to see the return of OP in their area too. Our CT KeyForge community has been growing, and we couldn't be happier!
June's tournament is special though: as it will be our Winds of Exchange Prerelease Event! Everyone participating will get one sealed Winds of Exchange deck, ahead of the set's retail release. Details are in the images below (text-only version beneath that). If you're in the Connecticut area, we hope to see you at this month's tournament (or a future one)!

2023.06.09 16:56 MaybE_Tree Tapping trackpad causes trackpoint to register right click

Okay, so I have a bizarre hardware problem that I can't find any info about, so I would be extremely grateful if anyone could help me resolve it. Here goes:
When tapping on the trackpad (light tap, not enough to engage the mechanical button underneath), sometimes it registers as a right mouse button click. I would like to disable this, since it effectively causes any cursor movement to also bring up the context menu in whatever app I'm in, which is unusable.
At first I thought this was some sort of tap-to-click feature that could be disabled in software, but it is not. I've checked the output of synclient (I use the synaptics touchpad driver under X11, not the native xinput one), and everything related to tap-to-click is disabled.
Moreover this issue seems to come and go randomly. Sometimes, the trackpad would be working just fine, and then slowly this issue would start to set in, without any perceptible cause, and after a while it would fix itself again. It seems to be most severe on the bottom right corner of the trackpad. Tapping on the top left barely ever registers as a right click.
Finally, and perhaps most bizarrely: the right click events don't actually come from the trackpad device. They're reported by the trackpoint buttons. So if I disable TPPS/2 IBM TrackPoint through xinput, the ghost clicks suddenly go away. But then I am unable to use the trackpoint or the trackpoint buttons.
All of the above leads me to believe that this is a hardware issue. I've tried reseating the trackpad ribbon cable, but to no avail. If anyone can tell me what I need to change or what part I need to replace, or even just confirm that they have a similar issue, I would be very grateful.
Thinkpad: 20BTS05T10 ThinkPad X1 Carbon 3rd gen
OS/Software: Void Linux, X11, Synaptics touchpad driver

2023.06.09 16:56 themastersdaughter66 What do you think Hecat meant about being "Wounded by time?"

Not entirely sure if this counts as a spoiler but if you talk to Hecat at one point she mentions that she looks older than she is (she was apparently at Hogwarts around the same time as Black as she was head girl and once told him off for enjoying a sugar quill in class:) because she was "wounded by time" in her work as an unspeakable.
So obviously this means physically she got aged up. And we do know about the time room experiments from Order of the Phoenix but anyone got headcanon's about the actual events? I just know we're a creative lot that like to fill in the blanks and figured someone might have come up with something. It's interesting to think about.
