2023.05.21 05:28 EvergreenGates Are T-Mobile Stores Experiencing Declining Revenue and Increased Store Closures?
I've been pondering about the future of T-Mobile stores and wanted to hear your thoughts on whether their revenue is declining now. It seems that with the rise of eSIM and the popularity of online distribution, brick-and-mortar locations may not be as essential as they once were.
Interestingly, we've witnessed AT&T and Cricket shutting down stores recently, while Mint Mobile doesn't even have physical locations. These developments got me wondering about the overall direction of T-Mobile's retail strategy. The latest
update we got was this from the CEO saying they'll restructure their stores and they shut down a bunch of corporate stores. But what are employees and authorized retailer owners seeing on their end?
On a related note, I'm curious to know how T-Mobile stores, and mobile carrier stores in general, generate revenue. What drives their profitability in an era where digital is on the rise?

2022.02.08 02:34 uhAlphaFox [Request] Potential VoLTE patch for 2012-2013 Apple devices?
US carriers are dropping support for devices that lack "HD Voice" or "Voice Over LTE" (VoLTE) by the end of 2022. This will result in early LTE iPhones and iPads (2012-2013) to lose cellular connectivity. However, these devices use the Qualcomm MDM9615m, which supposedly IS capable of VoLTE, but it is appears to be disabled on the software side. Maybe someone could make an attempt at a VoLTE patch?

2022.02.04 03:54 ricoks_patriot Keep insider and free lines for upgrade?
Hey all, first time asking a question.
I have been with T-Mobile since 2016 on T-Mobile One-All In promo (2/$100) with
[email protected] promo (10gb hotspot, HD streaming, etc.). I received an insider hookup at the time which provided me with 20% discount since then. I set this up in my business name, so I am a business customer, according to T-Mobile. I currently only have 2 lines, however I also have 3 kids that are getting older, and a phone plan for them will be in the near future (my oldest is only 13, tho).
I have looked at adding a line or 2, however I am told I am only able to add 1 more line with this plan, and it's at $40 (-$8 for insider discount). That would be $112 all in but I am then stuck with no option to add any other lines. I inquired today via Facebook messenger about upgrading to a different plan. They said I am not able to keep my insider discount if I change my plan. They offered me one of 4 choices:
1) Stay where I am, add line, and pay $112 for 3 lines with no option to add more, or get any extras (office365, Netflix, etc.)
2) Upgrade to Business Unlimited Advantage which does add more hotspot (40gb) and discount on office365 or Netflix
a) They will provide me with an insider discount that doesn't have free lines available to it. It'll cost $120/2 and I can add a line for $20 and then have the insider discount which brings the cost to $112 for 3 lines, however each additional line will be $16 on going with no free lines available in the future.
b) Use this plan without an insider discount, pay $120/2 and I can add a line for $20 as well as get an additional line free (per the current promo for existing customers) for a total of $140/3 (altho I get a free line too for a total of 4). However they say there is no insider hookup that they can give me that is eligible with this plan as well as qualify for free lines. This costs the most for 3-4 lines.
3) Upgrade to Business Unlimited Ultimate with an insider discount that does have free lines available to it. Pay $140/2 and I can add a line for $30 and then have the insider discount which brings the cost to $136/3 lines (altho I get a free line too for a total of 4). This plan includes a few more extras, although nothing that adds value to me at this time, but may in the future (more hotspot, more office365, etc.)
Is there really no way to keep and/or get an insider hookup that will also allow me to receive free lines when they are offered for the business advantage plan? I read of others having similar issues with insider and keeping it. I read an article on Tmonews from last summer (I believe it was) that said they were allowing ppl to keep their insider and upgrade. Tforce said that 'MY' insider doesn't allow that...... Is this the case, or am I just not leading them to the correct information for them to help me switch?
If anyone has any help or info, that would be awesome. Thanks in advance

2022.01.08 03:35 Chang_Hwah Weather Affecting Upload?
Hi everyone. A year ago, we got our hands on a T-Mobile Home Internet router. Overall we've been very satisfied with our internet, except for this pattern of unusable internet due to nonexistent upload speeds.
Whenever I had first seen these extremely low (0.00-0.20Mbps) upload speeds, I would restart the router and it did fix the problem...until it didn't. Without fail, every time I would restart my router, the upload speed would be at its typical 5Mbps and shortly after go back to its extremely low unusable speed. I can't quite remember the exact date when the problem fixed itself miraculously. I just remember speeds went back to normal after it got warmer outside and leaves started growing on the trees again.
The internet has been decent enough the rest of the year to keep using it with our speeds averaging 10-20Mbps down and 2-5Mbps up. But now we're back in winter and, well, the problem has resurfaced. I can't seem to find anywhere where people are experiencing the same pattern of issues as I am and I've sort of run out of options because this issue seems sort of crazy to me. It doesn't make sense to be blaming the cold weather for our bad upload speed, right? Does anyone have any idea what is going on? Why was our upload super bad last winter, good the rest of the year, and now bad again this winter?
This is what our router
looks like. It sits on a window sill where it is the closest to the cell tower.
My mood is not completely ruined because we're expecting to get Starlink in March (though who knows with Elon time). I'm just mildly irritated because if this problem is the same one I had last year, I will be living with basically zero internet for a few months which really sucks.

2022.01.04 07:03 screeamz #Promo: up to $400 off S21 FE with trade-in and other offers
Tmo is offering discounts on the new Samsung S21 FE starting Jan 11.
Tmo news: S21 FE deals - Get a free Samsung Galaxy S21 FE 5G (up to $700 off) when trading in an eligible device on Magenta MAX or Sprint MAX
- Get up to $400 off when trading in an eligible device on any plan with 24 monthly bill credits
- Buy a Samsung Galaxy S21 FE 5G and get a second one for free with 24 monthly bill credits when adding a line
- Metro by T-Mobile: Get $260 off on Samsung Galaxy S21 FE 5G when you switch and verify ID on a qualifying plan
I've been waiting a long time for this new Galaxy FE to be released, but $700 retail seems really high for what's included, especially after all the holiday deals that were available for the other S21's.

2021.12.08 16:32 Rickles360 For those having connection issues, check your old sim card!
I see a lot of people complaining about connection issues with their Pixel 6. I upgraded from a pixel 2 so my old SIM card wasn't compatible with all of the new 5G bands. I switched to ESim and noticed a better connection. My GF had the same issues and resolution with her 6. I am on TMobile and I'm very happy with my coverage now. I can't promise this will fix all your problems or work on all networks, but that's been my experience.
You need to make sure you are using a newer R15 / Standalone 5G compatible sim card. Or just switch to ESim.
https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.tmonews.com/2020/09/t-mobile-standalone-5g-r15-sim-card-customers/amp/ Edit: Be aware that when your carrier ports your number from sim to a new sim or ESim, you will be without service. It was not a seamless process. I had to go through it twice and was without texting or calling for like 90 minutes. Ye have been warned.

2021.11.30 21:39 kmypwn T-Mobile Not Honoring Promotion -- Help!
Hey everyone!
Really looking for some advice here. Back in late September, my partner and I opened a new T-Mobile account (she switched from Verizon, I from a different T-Mobile family plan with my folks) to take advantage of the iPhone On Us + Forever Upgrade promotions.
Here are a few links showing the iPhone On Us promotion:
https://www.gsmarena.com/tmobiles_new_forever_upgrade_program_for_the_iphone_13_isnt_really_forever-news-50945.php (this has a screenshot of T-Mobile's website with the terms)
https://www.tmonews.com/2021/09/t-mobile-unveils-forever-upgrade-promotion-for-iphone-13-lineup/ We called T-Mobile (twice!) back then, to confirm that we were all good for the promotion. And, after ordering the new iPhone 13s, we were proactively sent two shipping labels for our trade-ins.
My partner was sending in an iPhone X, and from the screenshot from the first link, she is entitled to $800 off (not
up to, but $800, which we confirmed with the rep on the phone). I traded in a Pixel 4, which entitles me to $400 off. Both phones were received by T-Mobile in good condition (which, from some of you, sounds like is somewhat a lucky thing already) and accepted.
Now, we've already gotten two bills from T-Mobile, and not seeing the promotion applied, but instead it looked like a buy-one-get-one had been applied...which is not as good of a deal (1 free iPhone 13 < $800 + $400 off).
We called T-Mobile today to get this fixed and we honestly are completely dumbfounded. We got escalated to a supervisor and despite an hour of conversation, he absolutely would not budge and was claiming the promotion never existed. Essentially, he claimed we had just seen it on 3rd party websites and it was, more or less, "fake news". Now, my partner and I are extremely thorough people, and we absolutely saw the fine print on T-Mobile's website (and its original existence evidenced by the screenshot in the first link). We found a press release from T-Mobile from the time the promotion launched, but the link to the full terms is dead and redirects to a general information page. How convenient.
In scrambling to google around while on the call, I found this website, showing expired promotions:
https://www.t-mobile.com/offers/promotionaloffers-2021 Maybe I'm blind, but I'm not seeing the one in the screenshot from the first link, which is ours. There are
so many websites, other than the ones linked above, that confirm the deal was active and existed during the time we took advantage of it.
The supervisor said unless we can find the terms still live on T-Mobile's website, there's nothing we can do. We feel completely screwed, and are now locked into 30-month EIPs and now have to pay an additional $400 over what we were promised and agreed to.
How is it that T-Mobile can remove language for a promotion from their website
after the fact, and then can refuse to honor it, when we confirmed (twice!) with a phone rep that we were qualified for it and took advantage of it? I've always loved T-Mobile (and been a big proponent of them and am even a shareholder!) but this just feels plain evil.
Is there anything we can do?
Edit: thanks
u/xvanducx for finding it on the T-Mobile website, despite the supervisor claiming it wasn't a real promotion!
Epilogue: The great rep via Twitter fixed everything for us. Thanks again, all!
