So the next day i completely ignored her and didn’t want to talk to her until she admitted that she’s diagnosed with bipolar disorder since she was teen, and since then i changed my behaviour with her i was more patient and whenever we have an argument i try to be more considerate and think maybe she’s having an episode or something. But guys trust me that’s so tiring she had problems with giving promises and not keeping them . She decided to quit her job and from that moment i told her that i don’t think that our friendship will remain the same since we used to work together and had to see each other everyday, she got upset and told me she will make effort to stay in touch and to call me and update me everyday . And since the day she quit i was the only one who’s doing the effort to meet and she never picked up the phone and always giving me excuses that she’s busy . Usually i don’t do effort with people to stay in touch but i don’t wanna give up on her she trusts me a lot , she will get hurt but it’s hurting me too . I don’t know what to do in this case should i move on and stop trying to make effort ?

This will be my first time as a bridesmaid for my friends wedding next year. I don’t love the idea of having to spend a ton of money on one day so I’m kind of annoyed but she’s my friend and what can ya do. Anyway the wedding is next year and I need to save up. How much should I save up? Luckily I am skipping the bacherloette party since it’s all the way in another state and I have a little baby at home I do not want to leave. I feel like I’ll be responsible for paying for my dress, some parts of the bridal shower, and then possibly a small bachelorette party that is for the girls who can’t go to the one out of state and it’s probably just a dinner or something. Can I get away with doing my own hair and makeup? I don’t feel like dishing out more money for that.
I will say, (this is a rant) she’s been a semi flakey friend and couldn’t even be bothered coming to my baby shower so I’m just annoyed at this whole situation but she asked me and caught me off guard when she asked me so I said yes but no to the big bach party since I HATE those and I’m not dishing out hundreds for dollars when I have a baby at home.
So how much money should I have saved up in total. Not to mention I will need to stay over night at the hotel where the wedding is. I did book for 2 nights but I may only do one. I just don’t want to be away from my baby for 2 whole nights. He is 7 weeks now but will be over a year by the time of the wedding.
I also just wanted to add and rant about the ordeals of these weddings. I’m not trying to knock anyone down but in todays economy these weddings are getting a bit out of hand. Why are we having bach parties in Nashville or Mexico, then another batch party at home, not to mention a brunch the day before the wedding, the bridal shower and throwing in a small mini bach for people who can’t make the big bach party. It’s actually insane. I’m not rich lmao.

I had the sex talk and she got mad at me saying it's too early to talk about it and she got suspicious that I only wanted sex from her. I denied it but I got colder and distant because I didn't have strong feelings for her. I was still on dating apps seeing other girls while talking to her and saying I wanted to marry her in the future. I even talked about kids.
We started talking normally again, we always met in parks and restaurants but this time I rent an apartment for us, I said we were going to watch her favourite movie. I thought that maybe she would open up to me and we would have sex but we only did heavy petting and nothing more. I realized that it would never happen and she was always talking about how she wanted me to meet her mom and get approval.
I started talking less to her and leaving her on read for hours. Suddenly, some attractive girl with a bikini picture starts following me and liking my pictures, I followed her back. She sent me a link of an online shop asking me to follow it, we started talking, she was very interested on me but unlike the previous girl she was open to casual dating and didn't sound shy at all. I lied about my ethnicity and age to her so she would accept me better. She asked me if I was single, I said yes and she asked me if I dated someone before, I lied that no and that no girl showed interest on me before. Although I made the other girl believe I was her boyfriend and loyal to her, she was left on read for 5h while I was talking to this new girl.
She says she wants to meet me and asks me to send a picture of my face, she was going to send a picture of her too. I did it because I wanted to see her picture too, I open the picture and it was the middle finger of the girl I was talking for 2 months with her ring on it. It was her all the time with a fake account and she said "Got you" with laughing emojis. She called me a liar and blocked me.
Now, I'm feeling regretful because she was genuinely a good person, she always supported me in everything and she never minded that I was Asian and Muslim. We used to share a lot about our daily lives and I even showed pictures of my family. She gave me attention and love like no one ever did. I regret taking advantage of her kindness and now I'm missing her a lot but I think it's not worth it to reach out to her.

Hey people of reddit, I hope everyone has had a wonderful day/night! So I(21) am not really good at getting my thoughts on paper while still making sense, so please bear with me!
I have known my SO (20) since she was born, we were great childhood friends and did everything together whenever we could. Skip a few school years due to our parents moving to different sides of the city, while we stayed in touch as best as we could. We started to stop talking im guessing because "out of sight out of mind " but eventually our parents had a little get together decided to share a house and then moved in with us. It was great apart from my rapist sibling who sexually assaulted my SO from the age of 6 until she was 12, and myself from 5-10, we never spoke about what he was doing to us, we didn't know that we were both being assaulted. While that was happening my MIL was using my mother to look after her while she went off being an escort and doing drugs, and not even using that money to look after her child and somehow always being behind or skipping a month's rent (using my mum to pay more than her share). After a while my mum gave up and told her to move out, then my MIL decided to distance herself from us because my mum "abandoned her in a time of need" (lived together for over 1.6 years)
And again we stopped talking until I went to the same school as her(I moved nearby).
So when we finally realised that we had very strong feelings for each other, and decided to start seeing each other when we were 18 and 19, we decided since we already knew pretty much everything about each other's life (or so we thought) I decided to stay at her house (closer to my work) and help with her relationship with her mother as they were arguing and fighting a lot. Over the last 2 years things have gone from AMAZING to depression.
In my mind it is mainly because of her mum, when we started dating (MIL had way too many pets, we constantly stressed how bad this living situation is but she said 'at least cats don't stab you in the back!?' Like what the fuck?!) So her house always smells of shit and piss because she barely cleaned up after them and was embarrassed about it.. saying that it's never like this and she's going to get on top of it and keep it clean, well that lasted about 2 months until she gave up on cleaning and herself. MIL started drinking more and going back into party drugs slowly leaving more and more responsibility on us, and just when we thought things were getting better she "sheltered" fucking 3 pregnant stray cats when she already had 5 cats and other pets, to help with her motherly urge to protect and nurture things. In the long run her motivation to clean, look after kittens, and work was just too much for her and found comfort in a partner. Since finding this amazing person she has slowly left that motherly urge to protect, love and care for her daughter and pets to revert back into her highschooler self leaving us with all the responsibility and stress, no money, no help and no sympathy or empathy for us at all. Because as she lives ten blocks away from her own house (us) with her new partner she pretends that everything is fine and still has the nerve to pretend that nothing happened and invite us to dinner at his house because we can no longer use our kitchen because of the animals over running it.
So I believe that it is wired into her brain that she can do whatever she wants and if you don't like it, it's your fault and you have no right being mad at her cause her life was a lot worse. (She's gone through her own past traumas).
What's even worse is because of all this my partner is too anxious and depressed to get a job so we are trapped here until she starts to feel better, and also that her mum is the only family my SO has so my partner is really wanting to keep her friendship with her mum..(and that is completely understandable) but she has mentioned to her mum multiple times that we are not happy and really need help, but it never arrives so that's why I had a bit of a snap and wrote quite an emotional message for her.. and here it is....

About Her Skin

My skin is susceptible, and it’s further on the dry side. My end with my skin is to keep it super doused. I indeed still struggle with flights. I am in the phase of my skincare trip where I want to start incorporating a little bit of Tretinoin. It’s solid, but most people say you must deal with the” purifying” phase.
​
For me, the thing is always to keep my skin healthy. I get perioral dermatitis occasionally, which technically goes down, but it can get touched off from vexation or stress.1. These bumps nearly look like short flights around my mouth and under my eyes. So, I’m always reaching for calming, simple products that don’t have a heavy scent. I surely break out a lot further when I am PMSing. That PMS week for me is hell. That — or when I’m traveling a lot and feeling exhausted is when I struggle the most with my skin.

But I’ve set up my routine and meter to keep my skin as balanced as possible. And I try to be conscious of what I put into my body. However, I see a big difference in my skin if I eat a bunch of crap daily. Overall, my skin’s just really sensitive.

How She Got Into Skincare
​
I have always adored skincare but took a deep dive during the epidemic. I had a lot of exchanges with experts and explored to understand my favorite skincare constituents, including why I love them and why they are so beneficial for the skin. I wanted to produce unique formulas that were affordable. So I took a lot of time to start that process. The absolute morality with Rhode is “making one of everything perfect.” It’s the same way I curate my closet the perfect brace of jeans, that one perfect T-shirt, that one good blazer — whatever it may be. It’s the same thing with skincare. Rhode is one excellent moisturizer, lip product, and so forth. I also love being creative. So bringing a relaxed, sharp, editorial vibe to a beauty brand was a commodity I wanted to do while also delivering a great product.

Her Morning Versus Nighttime Routine
​
I do not generally wash my face in the morning. I like to clean with warm water, which I’ve set up and has helped me retain humidity in my skin. The products I slept in the night ahead are friendly and soaked in, so I don’t want to strip anything out. I follow up with Environ’s Skin EssentiA Botanical Infused Toner, a vitamin C serum, Rhode’s Peptide Glazing Fluid, and SPF. I finish my morning routine with Rhode’s Peptide Lip Treatment.

In the evening, I twice cleanse with an oil painting cleaner first, followed by another cleaner. Also, I moreover use Skin EssentiA Botanical Infused Toner again or a light slipping color. So it depends on the day. Also, I follow up with Peptide Glazing Fluid, Rhode’s hedge Restore Cream, and a miniature oil painting on top because I like facial canvases. Not everybody does, but I am dehydrated, so I enjoy them. I’ll occasionally slug my skin at night with Vaseline or Aquaphor, but that can get messy.

How Her Routine Changed Over Time

As my skincare enterprises have changed over time, so has my routine. I am 25 now, so I’m starting to get into anti-aging. For me, the biggest thing is keeping my face out of the sun. At the once time, I wouldn’t have worn a chapeau in the sun. I would put on a little sunscreen and keep my face baking in the sun. That is a commodity I try my stylist to avoid now.

I also use a ton of peptides to soften any fine lines. It’s each about forestallment for me right now. When I was 17, I focused more on flights and chancing, a routine that worked for me. And indeed, at 21, my skincare enterprises were different than they’re now. You have to pay attention to your skin and how it’s changing.

I would skip sanctification in the evening — I’ve no way gone to sleep with makeup on. I’m not joking! If I were drunk, if I were nearly where I did not have access to my skincare, I would make sure I went into the restroom and got as important off as I conceivably could. I can confidently say that.

Her Skincare Prep Before a Big Event
​
Before a big red carpet, I will generally get a facial. That’s the biggest fix of all. Also, the products you use to fix your skin under the makeup are essential. I’ll do an excellent hydrating distance mask, eye masks, a hydrating mist, Rhode’s Peptide Glazing Fluid, and hedge Restore Cream. In creating Rhode, I wanted to ensure the products worked well under makeup and that the finish of the makeup and the effects go beautifully together. I always use Rhode products to fix my skin under makeup.

We’ve had a Panasonic canister vacuum for years that is on the way out. Had a few friends who’ve recommended the Dyson V15 Detect Absolute, but $450ish was what I was thinking of spending on a vacuum, so $800 would have to be absolutely astounding.
We have a three level home, with hardwood floors, rugs, carpets, young kids, and pets that shed a little. Admittedly we don’t vacuum as often as we could since the bulkiness of our canister vac made it a pain to get around, and especially to vacuum our way upstairs.
That said, I feel like years ago I heard that Dyson was overpriced. What would everybody recommend for our setup in 2023? It’d be great to have something that can pull stuff up from our rugs and carpet, but also be mobile.

My partner and I have seen a wedding venue that we really like. It is a country house with a private estate near the Lake District and is about 45 minutes away from where we, and most of our guests, live. The cost to hire the venue for a wedding on a Saturday includes the use of the entire house for 2 days, including a two-night stay in the house before/the night of the wedding. The house has 9 double bedrooms each with an en-suite, so 8 would be available for our guests to use for two nights.
We are planning to give our bridesmaids and best man a room each to have with their partners for both nights but then there will be about 5 rooms left over. Our immediate family will already have accomodation on site as there are also several cottages and a barn which would be perfect for them.
So we are thinking of having the rest of our close friends stay in the house to use up the rooms. However, I am unsure whether to charge them for this as the venue is slightly over our budget and I know they would be paying for hotels in the area anyway?
The plan was to just offer the rooms to our friends, but make it optional. We would just say that there's some rooms in the main house that are available to stay in on the night of the wedding if any of them want one. I would just price them at what I think a hotel of that standard in the area would cost (probably around £150 per room). Then it would be up to them if they want to stay. They would then have to transfer me the money as we will have already paid for the venue in full.
Is this really cheeky of us or do you think it's fair to expect guests to pay for the own accomodation on the night of the wedding, especially as they arent in the wedding party or family, but are our wider friendship group? Thanks!

Hello Reddit, I need your help.
Bit of background on me. I'm a pretty average guy, the kind who can get a few matches a week on dating apps and sometimes get a date. I'm in a very big city in Europe. I have a good job, but not rich by any standard.
Beginning of 2022 I matched with a girl on Tinder who was showing up as being thousands of miles away. Said she's in India, that it's an algorithm glitch; more on this later. We chat for a bit, hit it off, and exchange contacts on social media.
Fast forward to this month. We've been chatting very seldomly in small convos during the past year. This month it escalated and it's become quite intense.
I'm 100% sure she's not a catfish. Active on all her social media for both work and personal matters, hundreds of followers, all she says is consistent, followers are legitimate colleagues, got video calls with her, exchange voice notes, things like that. She's sensitive, if a bit neurotic, but self aware, socially involved, highly educated and well spoken. She's good looking, but not unbelievably so, she's as good looking as women I've dated before.
We'd like to meet, and she's originally from a city that is special to me and I always wished to visit but would get few chances to do as it's far away and not that big. She can't travel to Europe before the end of summer due to work constraints, but has applied to come here for her postdoc by the end of the year. I have means to travel and have holidays coming up soon. We're at a stage where I'm about to buy tickets. Money and time are a non issue, as if she turns out to be not worth it I wouldn't regret it.
I haven't caught on any major red flags: she has made it clear she doesn't want or need money, has a job and a stable family backing her, she's never pushed me to do anything, had her fair share of doubt about this thing, she looks responsible and has let me know she background checked me extensively to make sure I am who I say I am. Small details in her pics check out with what she says about what she does.
The only thing that doesn't check out is why she was swiping in my city to begin with. She says during lockdown things got tense with her ex and she wanted an outlet with no strings attached, a bit of attention, used the free Tinder passport and eventually got stuck in my city. Apparently until end of 2022; we matched beginning of 2022. She says was asked to pay to change it back, she's not very tech savvy and wasn't on Tinder much anyway. But this doesn't match my understanding of how Tinder location works and I'm hesitant in believing in unprovable software bugs.
I have a history of being naïve with women and I have a bit of trust issues. I need a second opinion on this. I have researched possible scams I might been looking at, but this just doesn't look like any of them and I feel like a schizo. We're exchanging family and childhood pics and discussing involvement in local politics. If this is a scam, the level of involvement just doesn't make any sense. Why go through all of this to kidnap me or mug me at gunpoint when you can do it with any local or tourist much wealthier than I am with a lot less effort? Why go through all this to extort me of a couple grands in a few months when there's much more efficient scams? Maybe she's honest about what she says but she's being forced to seduce me by someone else and she's just too afraid to be consistent with her morals? I feel like I'm going insane. It feels too good to be true to have such a good connection with someone and the Tinder glitch just sounds too random. However I also know life is random and these things do happen.
I understand you don't have a crystal ball, Reddit. I am willing to take the risk and fly. But how do I travel and stay safe? Just never be alone outside of public spaces or my hotel? What if we want to travel to the hills together? I'd be alone in a foreign country which is not known to be super tourist friendly. What do you think?

My parents are planning a summer holiday for them and me [16F], they’ve found a good location and hotel, the only issue is that we’d have to share a room (they would ask the hotel to set up a camp bed or smth in their room for me). I have done this plenty of times before in the past; however, I am starting to feel increasingly uncomfortable about the situation and I would appreciate having my own space.
I told my parents that I wasn’t entirely happy about the situation as I’ll be almost 17 then and even when I was 13 I wasn’t keen on sharing a room. I said that I would be fine with skipping a holiday this year or perhaps going closer to home or staying with family if finances are an issue. My mother said I was being awkward and my father said that he would share rooms with his friends when he was my age and that I was being hypocritical as I often share rooms with my friends; however, I feel like that is different.
Writing this out I’m starting to realise that I’m acting spoilt and I’m pretty sure I’m in the wrong here but I would like to hear other opinions or suggestions about this.

So as title says at this point I think pleading is just awful feature that is super abused.
With so many people praising it i think something should be said about this.
The core idea of pleading was okay :you are downed far from your squad and you see that your squad doesn't care and they are not going to pick you up ever: but so many people are just abusing it to betray their former teammates.
So.....
If you plead immidietly after you are downed you are awful person. Had so many randoms teammates plead instantly after they die and betray us that I started to play just duo with my friend. If you feel like you don't have any commitments to your random teammates you shouldn't play squadfill.
For explample I was at the roof of the hotels on ashika and my random teammate died in some lower level of that same hotel. He immidietly pleaded without even waiting If I win or lose that gunfight and he went to kill me with his new buddies. And that's just one example of many.
Also if your teamamte downs someone and he pleads, its not your kill so you have no right picking him up. This should be unwritten rule because so many times i lost my stuff coz enemy took it and then my squadfill teamamte immidietly picked him up after I downed him so i didnt have a chance of collecting my stuff back and that ungreatful enemy wasnt giving it back either.
All that being said i would be happy if they removed this feature entirely. If you die, you just die and thats fine by me.

When I (23M) was 10 years old my father divorced my mother and about two years later he married my stepmother with whom he has 3 children. After my parent's divorce, my mother went to live about 10km away from my father, who bought a house with my stepmother, they still live there to this day. My family has always been multicultural, apart from my stepmother being Ghanaian, my mother is French and my father's parent emigrated from Czechoslovakia in the 80's. By the way, English is not my mother tongue, therefore I'm sorry for any mistake I could make.
I've been aware the situation has been deteriorating for a while, a few years after they've got married, my stepmother developed pathological jealousy and suspiciousness towards my mother. She basically forbade my father to contact her over any matter, throwing a fit and almost leaving the country with my stepsister when she discovered they were still talking together over work related issues. We all quickly realized we were walking on eggshells, she would be deeply suspicious of him and would pick fights with him over little misunderstandings, even for things me and my (1 year younger) sister would say. Overall she revealed herself to be quite selfish and irresponsible, she's the one that earns the most money in the marriage, yet she spends it on beauty products, expensive clothes and sends a significant amount to Africa, where she launched some business. She's hardly ever there for the kids, leaves my father at home with them and goes out with friends or to after-work events. From my father's perspective, she's a bad mother and I would tend to agree on this.
On the other side, my father hasn't been himself lately. He found a new job with the help of my stepmother and is now earning about as much as she does, but at the same time he keeps working for his own company, even though he's supposed to have closed it for months. My grandfather got sick with rapidly progressing dementia, last year, he's now in the late stages, unable to move, and is taken care of by my grandmother, my uncle and him. My sister dropped out of college and works for my father's company, she's clueless as to what to do with her life and lives with her boyfriend, which doesn't seem to care much about it. He has to take care of the kids, take them to school, take care of the house which is basically still under construction. So many things lie on his shoulders and he looks exhausted. Overall he seems to be letting everything unfold as if he wasn't part of it. He takes forever to answer to us - me and my sister - and changes his mind all the time, he doesn't seem to see things clearly. Lately he has been talking about buying a house for my mother, because she's in a precarious financial situation, but as soon as my stepmother heard about it, she disappeared for a week to "make him realize his mistake".
My father is a very secretive person, he does not talk about his problems, he keeps everything inside and never seeks help from anybody. After living a few years in Czechia, I realized this attitude was very common amongst Czechs, as it is unacceptable, in the Czech society, to bother other people with your personal issues.
He's basically the one on which my whole family relies, but it is beginning to get clear that he's failing at it, because nobody can stand that much pressure without putting his own health in jeopardy. On the other side I must say that he was not always a good father to us - me and my sister - he left us alone when we were 10, we didn't see him for a year. He would give me financial help when I was abroad, and then decide to cut it without warning, leaving me unable to pay my rent and forced to miss university to work full time. He told me many times he did not believe in me and I basically had to make myself alone. It's beginning to clear to me that he doesn't know how to manage his own life, but at the same time I just see what's on the surface and God knows what he's going through by himself.
I've been living in a city about 100km away from them, and came to visit yesterday, while staying at my mother's place. Last night my stepmother proposed to take me back there because it was late and I came without my car. Upon arriving, we started to talk about my father, she told me how she feels exhausted from him, how he's been hiding things from her. There was, for instance, some issues with the nurse that takes care of my grandfather, as she's apparently been sending very personal messages to my father, she noticed it and also noticed he was buying train tickets for her. When she confronted him about it, he went to see the nurse and apologized for my stepmother's jealousy, the nurse recorded it and sent it to people in the local African community, now apparently everybody's talking trash about my stepmother. She then fired her, but my grandmother called her back and told my stepmother to stay away from her house. On another occasion she found a hotel reservation for two people on the backseat of my father's car.
She then went on to tell me she was, in fact, not suspicious at all of my mother, but the fact that my father would try to hide every conversation they had from her made her think that there was more to it. Also the fact that my father keeps so many things inside makes her very distrustful of him. She then told me she has been gathering evidence and contacted a lawyer, but she's waiting to see if my father wakes up and changes something after their trip to Africa, next April.
I'm sorry for the length, but there you see how complicated this whole situation is. I've always known that it was, but I didn't suspect it to be nearly as bad as this. I told her I would discuss with my father, but just what am I supposed to tell him? I don't even understand who's at fault, if not both of them. Of course he could take charge of his life, sell his company, get more sleep and be more clear and honest when communicating with other people, but isn't this just a consequence of this terrible marriage? I don't really understand what's going on and yet I bear this information and am clueless what to do with it. Should I warn my father about a potential divorce ahead? Should I tell him what my stepmother think is wrong and ask him why he's been behaving this way? She did not say she would divorce, but she's considering it.
TL;DR : my stepmother told me she's considering divorce with my father and I don't know what to tell him, but they both seem to have messed up.
