Hello. I am from Latam and went to Europe to study a master. It is finishing in one month. Since March I am doing an internship: I needed it to help me survive, because I came with very little money. I was lucky enough to enter a big leading company in its sector that pays above average; even internships are above others I applied for. Besides, this is my first working experience in data, because my motivation to do this master was to change my career since my undergraduate career is not profitable in my country.
Now, my bosses are offering me a permanent contract. The thing is that I really, really miss my family and my girlfriend. My visa ends in late August and now it is time for me to decide to accept it or not. If I do, I will have to return to my country for 1 month to do the paperwork and then come back. The company is willing to sponsor me and help me with the paperwork. I am a very shy and lonely person, I couldn't make any friend these 9 months I've been in this country. Apart from the fact that it is difficult to live alone and do everything by myself, I feel very vulnerable and lonely.
I think that having more working experience here will help me tremendously in having more and better job opportunities in my home country and finally be able to provide financially stability to my family. But I often cry and feel miserable. The idea of staying one more year gives anxiety, but also does the idea of going home and being incapable of finding a job. All my savings are already gone as well as my mom's. She invested her life savings in helping me with my purpose of studying abroad.
Now, I need to tell my boss my decision. I think a sweet spot would be to accept it and just stay for a few more months just for the sake of learning a bit more and putting in my CV that I have at least 1 year experience, although my internship started March 1.
What's your advice? If you recommend me to stay, how can I approach my boss and being clear that I do not want to stay longer than, say, 6-8 months?
TLDR: Company abroad offers me permanent contract, but I feel very lonely and miss my family and girlfriend. Maybe a good idea is to stay just a few more months, but do not know how to negotiate with boss.

2023.06.08 10:49 purplebacon93 Long term floxxie NAD+ flare. Recent concern of MS, any help appreciated

Hi, long term lurkecommenter, first time posting… lots of words to get out, from my current state… from things I’ve dealt with for 5 years (only the pain), something’s I’ve dealt with stomach related for maybe 2 years (mostly better, just lingering constipation), and a couple things about a year (new sluggishness from running, lightheaded from glute workouts/feeling sick to my stomach, intensely dizzy from same workout but also standing up too fast from hamstring ups ), and finally last two weeks of a feeling like I can’t exert my bowel movement or I’ll like get dizzy or something , which I recently was sick with chest congestion and got massively dizzy blowing my nose too hard, could be minor anxiety from that. Tonight I feel leg weakness, tremors, nausea, lack of oxygen or something, weak, a bit lightheaded. Nad, caffeine too late, smoke everywhere from Canada, maybe too much at once but I mostly blame nad, but the somewhat new symptoms relating to a few forms of physical exertion REALLY concern me cause heck I played soccer a year in withiut issue I’ve always just had that chronic pelvic and hip pain since day 7 of that cipro course.
I am a long haul floxxie of 5 years (1.5 years of proper supplementing though cause I was misled by every doctor I saw). I just took NAD+ for the first time thinking I hadn’t tried it. I am getting a ton of symptoms I didn’t even have peak flox. I am getting leg weakness, intense internal tremors, I feel a bit lightheaded, nausea. Is any of this normal or a sign of what’s wrong with me since I believe floxxing invoked something latent or lingering anxiety/cpps. Or maybe even early signs of MS because of the current leg weakness and a year of high weight squats causing nausea and some running causing sluggishness.
My usual symptoms are mostly related to my pelvic region and usually just lower back, si joint, hip (laying down), sometimes constipation, and a fullness feeling in my pelvis. All of which my current suspicion is that my peak floxxing induced glute weakness and in turn, pelvic floor dysfunction/cpps where I also had sexual dysfunction when active. I’ve never had general leg weakness before but did have had intense lightheaded ness after doing glute related leg workouts. That type of lightheaded ness and sick to my stomach feeling is also something I did not feel a year in. The pain is the only common symptom of 5 years.
In all honesty another concern is I’ve felt generally like I’ve degraded in some way physically (lack of exercise maybe but I want to consider something worse out of concern), where I definitely don’t feel like I can even jog without getting a bit sluggish feeling like not out of breath but just like my body can’t keep up where even a year in I think I could jog more or less, even run. I played soccer a year in actually. Maybe I’m just out of shape from only walking and sometimes weights but nothing strenuous
This body weakness, my recent nausea from leg workouts, a little bit of a concern with one eyes vision feeling a tiny bit blurry, and the feeling I can’t exert my bowel muscles has me even considering MS. Even my constipation feels worse despite fiber and a half decent diet.
Tonight feels like a train wreck despite the MS concern feeling very real. I had too much coffee late, I was exposed maybe a bit too much to the smoke coming down from Canada (I’m in PA). I feel out of breath, weak, trembling as I type. Nad is 100% causing the intensity, but I really want to consider those recent year and two weeks of new symptoms that seem almost outside the floxxing. Though bear in mind, my mental energy is amazing I feeel like I can stay up very late every night, it’s simply the physical exertion that feels so off and it’s specifically some sort of brain to muscle connection failing because as mentioned I don’t feel out of breath yet it feels like my body can’t keep up like it’s worried about exertion (upper glute has been the one very weak area for 5 years now though).
Horrible day, it’s 4:18am and sleep feels impossible with how much my body is trembling/uneasy, any insight into my seemingly progressive symptoms of some sort (constipation, sluggish after running, nausea and light headed, off balance from glute and squats, very recent one eye blurryness), and my not completely ignoring my full 5 year long term symptoms of pelvic pressure, lower back and hip pain, urinary frequency, sometimes stomach pain/nausea and sexual dysfunction pointing to cpps. Appreciate anyone who read this far holy crap for once I feel like one of the people with crazy reactions. It’s so bad right now my body is freaking out and I know for sure it’s the NAD mostly, maybe the smoke is causing less oxygen too, too much caffeine I was mostly fine till about 4 hours after the nad. Though very very recently like last week I have felt like I can’t force myself to poop, like it almost feels like the exertion would make me out of breath or dizzy. This aspect almost scares me the most because that’s a new thing and points to some sort of progressive weakening that NAD just blew the cover off of.
Typing through the anxiety but it’s not getting much better, part of me worries I’m getting some bowel incontinence even. Hate to repeat myself but that feeling I can’t exert myself when pooping has been scaring me the last week. MS symptoms kind of only matched up with the pelvic stuff plus maybe the getting up causing dizziness but that’s only when I worked out my hammies or glutes, or sluggishness from running (walking I’m pretty much totally fine). Also the two weeks of my right eye feeling off. Only thing consistent there is everything has always been right sided so say my neck was off , it’s not completely unusual for my eye to maybe be a bit out of wack. It got seemingly better so my primary concern is that body sluggishness like my body is very hesitant to exert itself (even pooping ffs). I feel like an oncoming lightheaded dizzinesss if I go further.
My blood pressure was 100/70 when usually I’m 114-70, so maybe I’m just not getting sufficient blood flow. I just want to know what’s to be concerned about. I probably should see my doctor but you guys are more caring…. Much love to anyone reading this. I wish you a good day

It’s my wedding soon and my nephew and nieces will come to Hawaii to celebrate with my husband and me. I used to be close with them but have since drifted apart after I moved. So during this trip, I’d like to do something special with them to reconnect and for them to get to know my husband.
I wondered what you all thought would be the most fun or the best thing to do. I know that you don’t know them, but just in general, what do you think sounds the most appealing to teens/young adults? In other words, if you were a teenager, what would you like to do with your gay uncles?
  1. Beginner scuba experience - This is where an instructor gives you a very basic course and then accompanies you on a shallow dive and controls everything. Basically you can concentrate on having fun while the instructor ensures your safety. This sounds super fun and unique, but it would cost about $500 for all of us and only lasts an hour. While I don’t mind spending the money, I’m not sure if it’s the best value at only one hour.
  2. Snorkeling with turtles - Also a bit expensive but it lasts two hours and is a bit less complicated than scuba. It also includes a boat ride.
  3. Scenic hike - They like hiking, and while it is a unique and beautiful location, it’s not like hiking is anything special for them. They go hiking all the time at home.
  4. Scenic sailing trip - It’s literally just riding on a sailboat and enjoying the view. It would be unique but I’m not sure it sounds “fun and exciting.”
  5. Zoo - TBH a zoo sounds a bit childish but we all like animals and there is a lot of time for talking and walking. After all the goal is to reconnect with them. Their mom said they would like it and it is the cheapest option, so I could spend more of my budget on a nice meal (and maybe a limo) for everyone.
  6. Shopping - When I was a kid and went to my aunt’s and uncles weddings, they took me shopping. This kind of seems like “trying to buy their love” but TBH if I’m gonna spend a lot of money they might as well get something they like out of it. Also an opportunity to walk and talk with them individually.

This happened about eight months ago, but it has been on my mind for a while. I used to do a lot of social media and made a lot of cool connections doing this. One of the connections in question was one of the most beautiful man I’ve ever seen in my life (I will not name him for obvious reasons).
He was a mutual friend, and I didn’t know much about him until I was told that I would be hanging out with him in a group. As soon as I saw him, I was absolutely bewildered by how tall, perfect, handsome, and well dressed, he was. He was my definition of a 10 out of 10 and he really had the whole package. He is known to be extremely handsome in the community. I had a small crash immediately. Me being sort of a nobody never thought that I could get with a guy like this.
We didn’t talk that much on the first day of meeting, but we did share a few laughs, and I tried not to stare too much. However, on the second day, I was asked out to a bar by that same group. We ended up getting quite drunk, and I thought he might’ve been flirting with me. I wasn’t sure if he was just a player (I wouldn’t blame him considering how hot he is). And he was asking to try on my sweater because it was fluffy, and he wanted to wear some of my jewelry (I put it on him and I made sure to get close).
I was nervous, even looking at him. As the night went on, we somehow ended up sitting beside each other, and we were talking a lot. We clicked. One thing led to another, and I ended up making out with him. It was in front of everyone it was a little bit embarrassing but I was just enjoying the moment.
We held hands and kissed quite a bit until it was late at night, and he invited me back to his house. I wasn’t quite sure what he was expecting, but I was so lovestruck that I didn’t even mind. I don’t remember a whole lot because I got pretty damn drunk by the end of the night . Nothing extremely exciting happened at his house but I did lay on him and we made out for hours. I went home eventually.
I had asked him to hang out add an event the day after and he said yes, multiple times during the night however, the next day he ended up sleeping in and cancelled on me. I know that it was nothing personal, but I wanted to see him again so badly that I drove me crazy. I never ended up seeing him in person after that. He is now in a different country pursuing work and honestly I could see him blowing up and getting big. He has connections to some of the biggest creators. I told some of my closest friends about this and they knew who he was just by his name. It was really such a surreal experience.
I have his number. I don’t think that we will ever end up talking again unless he comes back to visit and we all hang out in person again.
It was such an amazing night, and it gave me a bit of an ego boost, considering I’ve never thought of myself as anything special, and I was able to get with someone that was as gorgeous as him. He was also extremely polite, caring, and just an overall really cool guy.
It’s driving me crazy because I was so drunk and I barely remember it. I just know that it happened. I have dreams about him occasionally which is really weird since I don’t really think about him on a daily basis (anymore).
I just thought that I would share this story because I literally had another dream about him last night and I kind of just want to go in on a rant about it.
If anyone else has any similar stories, I would love to hear them.

2023.06.08 10:47 tearsofthekingodm I have accidentally quit smoking for 2 weeks due to a payment error in my bank

I was expecting some monthly stipend to arrive in my bank account 2 weeks ago but it never arrived. I am safe. I have a roof on top of my head, a warm bed, and enough food to survive, but as of 2 weeks ago, I was quite literally bankrupted. Which in hindsight may seem awful, but it really wasn't at all that bad. I use bike to commute, I work from home often, and I go to the office often. I spent the last few bucks on some food like rice and chicken and has $0 in my bank account. I'm not yet a full-time employee. I'm only a junior intern, so the pay is horrendous.
Anyways. I've been smoking for a year now, and this forced me to quit. I wasn't planning on quitting at all, but here we are 2 weeks later smoke-free. It just so happened. According to the app, I've dodged 94 cigarettes (I smoke 5 on average everyday). But at this point, I feel like smoking since the money finally arrived, but I know if I do that, I'll hate myself. So let's hope for the best!

Hello,
We've been married for 5 years and have a 3 years old kid. Shortly after our kid was born, her mom passed away - they were not very close but she had cancer, and they fixed their relationship, because of the situation I guess.
Now, since 3 years ago, she completely changed. She had arguments with her sisters and with her father and now she doesn't talk to any of them.
As for me, every day is scary: I don't know when she will wake up full on rage because our kid woke her up (we sleep together the 3 of us), if she's going to complain about some pet peeves of her or whatsoever.
Almost in a daily she complains - blames me about anything that it's my "fault" according to herself. For example, one day she lost some document and blamed me until it was found where she placed. But until that moment, she was complaining no stop "Why did you throw it?" etc..
Another day she took or kid to sleep as some nights our baby wants to sleep only with mummy. It took around an hour for the kid to sleep and I was waiting so we could watch some netflix. I've already tidied the room and prepared everything (clothes and stuff) for the next day. She came all angry because the kid wouldn't sleep and complaining loudly, "Why are you playing games?!" (I was reading some ebook in my phone.)
Another morning, the kid wanted to eat some candy and was bugging mummy to remove the plastic cover. My partner was angry because she couldn't sleep well and she took the candy from her hands and smashed it to the floor. Our kid cried. Mind you I never fight her back, never scream or throw stuff. I tried talking to her the next day (I don't fight back when she's angry as I don't like to add more wood to the fire) but she would get angry and blaming me.
This kind of stuff happens almost daily. I'm walking on eggshells. I don't know what to do.
Furthermore, I know she's not a bad person, but I'm starting to dislike her, and I'm definitely scared of her - "What mood will she have today when I come back home?"
If anyone has been in this kind of situation, I would like to hear your experiences.

I am F(21) and 4th year college na ako next sem. Kaka-21 ko pa lang nung March, sinabihan na agad ako ng nanay ko na natanda na daw ako at di na dapat ako humihingi sa kanila.
To give you a brief background, yung source of income namin ay yung malaking tindahan ni mama, and katulong niya yung papa at tita ko sa pagtitinda, so far, nakakabayad pa naman kami ng bills monthly at may naitatabi pa naman si mama sa bank acct niya. Pero nagaappreciate na kasi annually yung renta namin at yung mga bilihin kaya medyo uneasy na si mama
Meron din kaming print services, eh since ako yung ma-techy sa pamilya, ako ang nagmamanage noon lahat, tas yung monthly subscription ng internet namin, ako na pinagbabayad ni mama and noon pa man bago pa ako mag-21 ako na talaga pinagbabayad nila. Yung kinikita ko di naman ganun kalakihan, usually swerte na maka-3k sa isang month, minsan hindi pa maka-1k, gross pa lang yun!
Last year ko pa naisipang simulan mag-upskill and gusto ko talaga magland agad sa high-paying job para naman mabigay ko na agad mga demands ni mama simula pa nung bata ako. And araw-araw ko na din naririnig sa kanya na gusto niya din maranasan yung pagpunta punta sa abroad kagaya nung mga nakikita niya sa mga kapatid ng papa ko.
Napansin ko lang din na di ako nagiging consistent sa upskilling dahil lagi ako kailangan ni mama to do minimal task na kayang-kaya naman niya gawin. Like pag gusto niya matulog sa tanghali, ako pinagbabantay niya sa tindahan or pag ayaw niya maghugas ng pinggan, iintayin niya pa akong makarating ng bahay para mahugasan ang pinggan. Plus, yung responsibilities ko pa sa school as someone na lagi din may errands. I do not necessarily say na sa kanya na lahat ng trabaho, my point is kung may oras at kaya naman gawin, ay sya muna ang gumawa. Sa totoo lang, naiintindihan ko naman kung bakit araw-araw niya nang sinasabi na "pagod na siya", dahil mula bata pa lang eh pinagtratrabaho na siya ng lola namin. Pero to say that in front of other people, parang na-invalidate na din yung pagod nila na para bang si mama lang ang napapagod, although alam naming lahat na mas pagod si Papa.
Lumaki din ako na dala-dala yung mindset of "Utang ng loob." Hindi pa ako nakakagraduate pero yung Nanay ko, humihingi agad sakin ng contribution, tapos against pa sya noong una na magopen ako ng bank account for unknown reason. Gusto niya sa kanya lahat ng pera na dumadating sakin. Pati yung 10k assistance na natatanggap ko every semester sa kanya din napupunta. Hindi ko alam kung praning lang ba si mama o ano. Hindi naman ako maluho o gastador, lahat ng savings ko dinediretso ko sa savings account ko kasi takot din ako tumanda na walang pera.
Pinaliwanag ko din sa kanya noon na yung pinagiipunan ko ay para makabili ako ng sarili kong bahay. Ayaw ko na din kasi dumating sa sitwasyon na makikitira lang ako sa mga kapatid ko na di din naman ganun kasapat ang kinikita, baka ako pa magbayad ng lahat ng bills nila tapos sila pa yung mas matapang.
Sa tuwing sinasabi ko yun sa nanay ko, lagi niyang pinipilit na wala pa naman daw ako pinapakain, tumulong muna daw ako sa bayarin. Nakakadrain lang na araw-araw niyang pinaparamdam sakin na instrumento lang ako para iahon siya sa hirap, without considering about my future or other perspective. Andali lang sabihin sa kanya na okay lang kahit di ka nakapagtapos, diskarte lang naman ang kailangan mo na para bang nagwowork yung ganung mindset sa lahat ng tao. I’m heading to university this upcoming fall and I plan to bring 2-5 plants from home(2 plants for sure). They’re all fairly small typical houseplants(snake plant, pothos, etc). I’m taking my car to university, which is a 3-4 hour drive, and I’m planning on moving by myself, so no parents, help, or extra cars unfortunately. I know people might say to only bring 1 or 2 max, but I really love all my plants and I know my parents won’t water them or won’t take care of them so I want to take them with me.
The plan I have currently is that they’re all gonna be located on my passenger seat, whether that be the actual seat or the floor, so I was wondering if anyone had any tips that would make the process as smooth as possible.
I’ve read to wrap the roots and soil inside plastic and put the entire plant inside a cardboard box with air holes in it, but I don’t know how credible that information is and if it is I wouldn’t be able to do that with my snake plant since it’s pretty long.
Also anyone have tips to hang plants on walls or the ceiling? My dorm doesn’t have a windowsill and we’re not allowed to put nails in the walls, but I’ve seen people use command hooks/strips but I’m worried it won’t be stable.

Hello, nearly fully diagnosed autistic + possibly have unmedicated ADHD ( plus, suffering from depression )
At school, I've always been the kid that doesn't works at all, only aiming for the minimum to pass to the next year. Then, I got into college within a prestigious political sciences school. 5 years later, I've failed two separate years for mostly external reasons, and they've kicked me out some months ago.
Right now, I am doing a journalism internship that I was supposed to do sponsored by my school.
My problem is, I'm genuinely afraid on what to do, where to go, from this ? The job is OK, I'm good at it ( It's mostly being on the computer searching things ) but I hate having to go to the office each days, having to talk to coworkers, saying " Hello ! :) " to each one that I come across in corridors. Having unnecessary conversations, etc, etc.
After a workday, I feel like I'm spending most of the afternoon and night charging up for the next day, and that within weekends I have to choose between going out to do things, see friends, or stay at home to not be burnt-out on Monday.
And it's only been a month. I genuinely can't see how I can do that for the rest of my life.
I'm currently within a turning point in my life, after that internship I'll have to choose between continuing studies or pushing the journalism career and I'm scared. I don't see what jobs could allow me to stay healthy while still having a decent pay. I think that I have a lot of passions, and competences, but the context in which I have to use them depresses me.
What are you all doing as a job ? I'm really curious on how you are coping with all the things that I've mentioned. I'm seeing lots of IT folks but I'm the worst on maths lol.I'm desperate to the point that I'm unironically thinking of just finishing my diagnosis and living on welfare money forever, or try to start a youtube channel on my special interests and get a paid patreon out of it. I´m a 20M and I'm trying to gain some weight and strenght.
Stats:
Height: 180cm
Weight: 60kg
I was always very skinny and i never had problems with that but nowadays i see everyone in my college and i rarely see somebody as skinny as i am and that got me wanting to improve my physique.
I am here searching for somebody help me create a good workout that i should stick with it. I tried gym before but after a month I give it up and I think that with calisthenics at home and with the right motivation I can stick with it and see some results.
Also I never did any type of sport in my teens so I am really a begginer into BWF.
If somebody can leave in the comments a recommendation for a workout for begginers I would apreciate a lot.

I recently finally got a stable job but the hours are brutal. Some days I gotta wake up between 2-3:00 am and get home as late as 19:00. I've worked a job before for almost 3 years where I had to wakeup for 4/4:30 am (and that was somewhat manageable) so this is nothing new to me, but I remember I still hated it. Now it's whole new level..
Nowadays I feel like a zombie all day after about as early as 8/900 am and afternoons I'm just unable to function at all and take frequent naps . Some days my head feels like it's vibrating or something all day and it's annoying it has to be related to my constant state of almost sleep deprivation.
My only salvation is weekends where I try to sleep in and regain some of it but obviously vI can't fix all work week worth off no sleep, and everyone else expects me to function and attend weekend activities (that sometimes start early morning)as usual...
I try to go to bed after 6/7/8 pm but if I take a nap in the afternoon (which I maybe shouldn't but I feel like I have to or else I die some days it's that bad)I can't fall asleep again that early. I'm on all the major self improvement stuff also to various degree but I think even if my diet exercise and everything else was absolutely on point it wouldn't make up for it much.also being constantly so sleep deprived makes it hard to be motivated or have energy for exercise etc.
Any advice ? I'm feeling like shit and rethinking staying at this job, I'm not really a morning person at all even though I tried to make it work for years now..
Btw I realize the obvious answer here is "just go to sleep early bro, get more sleep " but I just can't seem to be able to consistently fall asleep so early when I should to get 7+ hrs and my afternoon naps screw it up even more and as bad as I realize they are I can't just seem to resist it and always lie down for a bit every day...

I’ve had two guinea pigs for 6 years now (two adorable males). One of them unfortunately passed away this morning, I’m now left with my second boy (abyssinian which is also blind on his right eye due to an accident 4 years ago)
My family is against buying another one. I’m F17 and living at a campus 5 days per week, so I cannot spend as much time with him as I used to. I won’t be able to give him the proper attention he deserves to be able to live on his own. I don’t want him to be lonely, but I’ve had them for six entire years and I don’t know if giving him another home will make his situation any better because of the stress
