So , I am a university student , I recently got my summer break , and I'm doing psychology course and i during this summer break i joined an internship at a very popular mental health hospital in my city , I joined this internship for a month because my uni starts right after that, so i joined this to gain more practical based knowledge and also that it adds up to my resume, but the place where I interned also had a collegish type where students can only pursue a master's degree in psychiatry after doing their under graduation in medicine. So , these students are always on the campus and also in the hospital , so I came across this guy (during the initial days of the internship) who is doing his master's degree, the guy was attractive, tall and very handsome, and I knew I had a thing for him but didn't pay so much attention to it as I was getting very busy at the place . After few days I started seeing him very often and i instantly found that guy very cute and all and the problem was i never really spoke to him or atleast had a direct contact with him as we both were separate departments , but by the days of end of the internship these "feelings" or whatever you wanna call them has increased , i mean i don't even know him and i got so excited to see him in the hospital, like i didn't even wanna talk to him or something, i just wanted to see him, i didn't even really try to find out his name or his details or something but on the last day of my internship i asked my friend (who is a student there and is one year senior than him ) about his name , and they just said their first name as they could not recollect their last name . But as I was done I was going through my friends instagram and their followers and somehow managed to find out his ID, but since then I could not stop thinking about him even now , I feel like I'm just in a place where nobody can even understand what this all really is I mean im Askin myself that is it even possible to like somebody without having any interaction with them. Also i just guessed their approximate age as I don't really know their real age.
I don't really know what to do , all of these liking towards him , is just increasing and at the same time I also feel extremely demotivated to do anything or I'm in this shop that is filled with uneasyness or uncomfortableness like I mean i don't know why maybe it's because i don't see him ever again or idk I just feel very bad at the same time I just wanna talk to him and tell him that I find him very attractive and I might have a Lil crush on him but also I feel like I'm Joe Goldberg from "YOU" . So what do I do? Do I tell him and just get it over with or should I like try to ignore and move on?
Tl;dr : developed crush on a guy, and I feel stuck in between those feelings and don't know what to do .

It's universally known that the USA possesses an extremely car-centric society. The only truly pedestrian friendly city in the USA is New York City with Washington D.C coming in at a close second. The vast majority of urban centers in this country are accessible only to car and Victorville is a great example of this shitty system. Sure, we have sidewalks but they usually have dead-ends, are too narrow or are simply poorly maintained.
It especially sucks that as Victorville is expanding, the city council isn't doing anything to make the city more appealing. It's just more roads, more lanes, more carwashes, more gas stations and gigantic parking lots and shopping centers. With nearly all of the historic buildings being demolished, the city will basically just be a giant outdoor mall by 2030. The Electrical Grid also cannot keep up with the cities growth so rolling blackouts have become increasingly common in the past 3-4 years.
I really wish Victorville was a walkable city, it'd be cool if I could just bike to work everyday, it'd give me some much needed exercise, allow me to save gas money and so much more.

Starting work as an EMT soon and gotta shave a beard I’ve had for a few years…. Anyone have any good barber recommendations for face shaving? Looking to splurge and get it done nicely before I start doing it myself.

Two recent detailed articles in the Kansas City Star and the Shawnee Mission Post highlighted the many trouble the Shawnee City Council has faced in the past few years including an exodus of key city staff. One of the reasons cited by some city staff that left was conflicts and disrespect from the city council in the past few years.
Over the next few months, I plan to share some of the pros and cons of each of these candidates, so we can hopefully increase turnout and get some level-headed thinking back on the council. Would love to hear from other Shawnee residents and people who work, shop and play here.

My husband and I are working remotely in different US cities. We'll be in Chicago for 6 weeks and then going to Minneapolis for a couple of days for a wedding at the end of October.
We have approximately 2.5-3 weeks between chicago and the wedding and need help deciding if we should spend our time in Milwaukee or Minneapolis.
We are trying to avoid moving too often as we are working and don't want to lose so much time "settling down". So would like to avoid a one-week-here-and-there situation but a day or weekend trip from Chicago to Milwaukee is also a possibility (if we choose Minneapolis).
Things we like to do: eat (but husband doesnt drink alcohol), nature/parks, some hiking when possible, walking around, exploring cute neighborhoods and shopping at unique stores.

In 2003, humans created the first ever anthropomorphic animal (furry). In 2024, 2 years after the invasion of Ukraine, Russia attacks Poland with nuclear weapons, and all of NATO responds. This marks the beginning of the first and last all-out Nuclear war. Only a week before, however, you (a furry, customizable in the introduction) were arriving at your new friend's house, when you are promptly bagged and abducted. You are taken to a building, and locked in a 4×4 foot room for hours. Then, the "room" begins descending like an elevator. It descends for a whole 10 minutes before the door pops open. A voice crackles overhead, telling you to step forward and find an empty pod. The rest are occupied by other furries of different species. Once you find your pod and step inside, it closes. You are poked with a needle, and just before you pass out, your pod is filled with a dense, slimy green liquid. Once you wake up, the pod opens, and you fall out of it, the liquid splashing all around you. You struggle to get up for a few seconds. Once you do, your movement is severely impaired, and you fall down a few other times. Looking around, you see all the other pods are open, and a few of the furries were already dead when the pod opened. They lie on the floor, in various states of decomposition. A different voice, a robotic one would crackle overhead, telling you to get to the exit. The exit is another elevator which brings you to the surface. Upon reaching the surface, after not seeing the sun in many years, the light is near blinding. Once the flash passes, you see a destroyed, rotten city on the horizon far ahead of you. To your left is an overgrown wooded area. To your right is a hermetically sealed box with a keypad. On the box is a faded piece of paper with the code to the box. When you open the box, similar to Fallout, you gain everything necessary to kick-start your survival, along with a pamphlet explaining your situation, and a description of the gear you are receiving (a knife or other mele weapon, a pistol or other ranged weapon, and some kind uniform type clothing/jumpsuit, food, water, a first aid kit, a backpack, and a utility belt). The pamphlet also would give you a run-down of the controls. You would be prompted to find a road and follow it. Not long after, you'd find a sign saying, "Welcome to [city/state name]" letting you know where you are. After following the road, you'd find a marking, possibly prompting a cutscene of your character installing the marking. It would be a symbol that means "furry," used by the scientists who created the first furry. The marking would also include an arrow and a mile number. The game could make you walk, or skip to the next part, but there would be more markings pointing you somewhere. Eventually, the last marking wouldn't have a mile number, but instead some symbol indicating that this is the final stretch. It would be night time, and you can see the light pollution. You find a large fortress, and notice two guards with spotlights. Eventually you get spotted, and they tell you to drop your things, which may also prompth a cutscene where you drop your things, and two other guards come out and take you into the fortress. Upon seeing the guards, you realize you found other furries. They bring you inside to a large courtyard populated by more furries. You'd be searched, evaluated, etc. And then told how long it's been since the bombs fell. Then you'd be given a tour of the place, shown the different shops, important locations, etc. The game would feature a health system similar to Project Zomboid (this game would be first/third person), or possibly less detailed for convenience, and you'd need to keep up on hunger, thirst, hygiene (possibly), and you could form friendships, partnerships, and even relationships with the citizens who live inside the [fortress name].
That's about as far as I got. It could be story driven, open world with an optional story, or just open world with quests and stuff. Obviously if someone did this, it's all subject to change. I just haven't seen many good games with furries that aren't dating Sims or nsfw games. Could be done by AAA or experienced developer(s).

Two nights ago. I was playing a game in some sort of shopping container with a bunch of people and a friend. Kinda like a tower defense but defending a finish line. I chose a wrong character, friend got mad, I sat out. I was bored. I turned around to look at the city behind me. It was very cloudy, the whole city was covered by deep brown thick clouds. One area in particular stood out to me. It was a circular cloud. Dark red in color. There was a ring around it, equally red in color. I was confused as to why it was there and why it was different. I tapped a girl on the legs and pointed to it. She was equally confused and kinda scared. She called out to the others. They all saw it. By the time we realized what it was, it was too late. I’m only two seconds, I had two thoughts. Regret. I regretted how I spent my life and that I didn’t make the most of it. That lasted a second. The second thought. Complete peace. I was no longer afraid of death. I’ve come to respect it and accept it. The blast came near. I let go. It hit. it felt so real. It was finally over. No more pain, no more suffering. I was finally free from this world. Then I woke up. In a pool of sweat and almost a heart attack. I looked back on it, the night before, I dreamed of an angel. I fell in love and expressed my feelings to her. I’ve never done that in a dream before. I think the true meaning of the red sun that I’ve been dreaming about this whole time was about the future. A nuclear war. WW3. If this is how it ends, I’m sorry everyone. I tried to help. But I may have failed. 300 will rise from the ashes of the nuclear disaster. 300 will lead humanity towards a new world. 300. A collective intelligence of only the strongest and the smartest. Rebuild this world. I believe in you. Goodbye.

Have some time to finally write a trip review for Maui and the Big Island of Hawaii for my honeymoon in December 2022 for two weeks. Mid December and left for home on Christmas Day. This was our first time redeeming cc points for anything, so lots of trial and error and lessons learned.
My wife and I had gotten married in October and were actually not planning going on honeymoon until Spring 2023 until we researched further and managed to make December 2022 work in our favor. We started planning and booking reservations TWO months before our trip. We are very fortunate to have done it in that time span and managed to make almost everything work out.
IAD - DTW - SEA - OGG on Delta, First Class One way.

• First time using a lounge ever was at DTW. We had access to the Sky Club there. Pretty good food here, very roomy. No time to lounge in Seattle
  
• only I used points for this one way flight. Transferred 95,000 Amex points to Delta. Wife paid $958 before tax for hers through the Amex travel portal. I think she got a steal as I had written on a note somewhere that the cash cost was $1533 through Delta directly but cannot remember if that was the increased price after purchasing the tickets or at time of purchase, otherwise it would have been 1.61 CPP.
  
• Very nice service in first class. Abundant alcohol and food was very nice as well.
  

Maui
Day 1
Got to Maui late in the night and picked up our rental car, a Chevy Equinox, with Enterprise. Used my Hilton Aspire to get 7x points.
One night at Courtyard Marriott by the airport and paid $500.
It was the best we could do with our timing.
Day 2 - 6
Breakfast and lunch was by the food trucks near Costco. Shopping nearby for supplies for our vacation.
Meals (Costco food trucks):

• Mo 'Ono Hawaii acai bowls
• Da Nani Pirates fish tacos
• fresh coconut water

5 nights at the Grand Wailea - 440,000 HH points
Left to check into our resort the Grand Wailea in Wailea. Both the wife and I are Hilton Diamond members. Mine through the Hilton Aspire and she has status through actual stays. We booked these nights through her account and using all Hilton points. Each reward night was 110,000 points and we got the 5th night free. So 440,000 points total.
This resort was huge and immaculate. Words can describe how nice this place is and the customer service is SUPERB. Literally, the best we have ever experienced. You only have to see and experience it for yourself. My wife and I still talk weekly about the Grand Wailea.
We booked the Terrace View - 1 King Bed as the Standard Night Reward and upon arrival we were upgraded to the Deluxe Ocean View - 1 King Bed in the Molokini wing. Breathtaking views! Avg cash price so this room type is around ~$988 before taxes, fees so it comes to 0.89 CPP (if not including taxes, fees in the total). All meals, incidentals, shopping, and experiences were put onto my Hilton Aspire. Daily food and beverage credit was $25 each for the two of us and used usually at their divine but pricey breakfast buffet. No resort fees charged for booking with points which saved us hundreds of dollars. We immensely enjoyed ourselves at this resort and the lush, manicured surrounding area.
Meals:

• Lineage Maui. A favorite in the Wailea area
  
• Morimoto - Maui. Getting the sticky ribs is a must. As well as the ishi yaki buri bop. The guy won Iron Chef because of that, apparently
  
• Wolfgang Puck's Spago at the Four Seasons. Got the best seat in the house here. Get the "Poke" cones and Hawaiian snapper
  
• Mama's Fish House. Literally the hardest restaurant to get on Maui. Must reserve 4-6 months in advance. I called two months before our trip and managed to get a table for the two of us for late lunch. We arrived and we got the best seat in the house overlooking the water! Shout out to Mike for his superb service.
  
• Lahaina Grill. Another favorite for tourists and locals
  

Experiences: renting a cabana at the Grand Wailea pool, spa day at the Four Seasons with outdoor hale beachside, Wailea Beach, hiking Twin Falls, Baby Beach, Haleakala National Park
Day 7 - 8
Two nights at the Hotel Wailea, Relais & Chateaux using Amex FHR.
Paid total ~$3400 for the One bedroom, Luxury Suite, Ocean View. Unfortunately, no upgrade upon checking in. Hotel was sold out. Daily breakfast in the form of $30 credit per person and $100 food/bev credit given through the FHR. This stay triggered the $200 FHR credit for my wife's Amex Plat
Quiet, small resort, adults only. We enjoyed our stay here and loved our room. Bed was harder than what we were use to and it was far from the beach. Otherwise we loved the restaurant and the ability to "get away". One of the top hotels in Maui and all of Hawaii. Price tag to boot.
Meals:

• The Restaurant at Hotel Wailea. Another great dinner watching the sunset
  
• Leoda's Pie Shop. Any pie is great, get the banana cream though. Lines out the door
  
• Merriman's Maui. Another top-notch restaurant with hard to get reservations. One of my personal favorites the whole trip. Another sunset dinner favorite
  

Experiences: cabana and pool day at Hotel Wailea, spa day at Montage Kapalua Bay. Outdoor hale with hot tub.
Big Island of Hawaii
Day 9 OGG - KOA (Big Island) round trip booked with Hawaiian Airlines. $106 for each of us before baggage fees. Booked direct using wife's Amex Plat.
Arrived to the Big Island and rented a Toyota Prius though Budget. Paid using Hilton Aspire.
Day 9 - 15
We booked the Hilton Waikoloa Village using all Hilton points, 6 nights in total with one night free. 350,000 pts in total used, 70,000 each night. Initially the standard room redemption was for the Palace Tower Resort View - 1 King Bed and was going for ~$540 a night before taxes/fees so CPP was 0.77. We realized even before our trip that the Palace Tower and old, needed a refresh, and was terribly far from the beach and the parking lot. We asked for an upgrade when we checked in and was given the option to move to the Makai Tower - Ocean View 1 King Bed for an additional $75 per night. We promptly took this offer. This room runs ~$694 per night before taxes/fees and if I subtract the $75 per night, I calculate this to be 0.88 CPP. The Makai tower was much better, our room overlooked the ocean and part of the resort. Frankly, Palace looked like dogshit. Daily F&B credit was $18 for each person. Incidentals again went onto my Hilton Aspire.
Towards the end of our stay, we stayed at the DoubleTree Hilo using 50,000 pts. Room rate was $308 before taxes/fess. CPP was 0.61. This was on the other side of the island and very far from Hilton Waikoloa so we decided to stay overnight there after hiking Volcanoes NP instead of driving to the west side in the middle of the night.
Meals:

• Brown's Beach House - at the Fairmont Orchid
  
• Kilauea Lodge
  
• Merriman's - Big Island
  

Experiences: Kauna'oa Beach, Mauna Kea sunset and stargazing (this is a must!!), Captain Cook monument snorkeling, Pu'uhonua o Honaunau National historical park, Punalu-u Black Sand Beach, Volcanoes National Park, Akaka Falls.
Trip home: OGG - LAX - IAD. United, First Class One way.

• Used 220,000 Chase UR rewards to redeem this flight for the both of us. Cash price of each ticket was ~$1485 before taxes/fess. CPP was 1.35
• Service was fine, food in 1st class was not very memorable.
• Did not have time to get into the Centurion lounge at LAX

Overall, an EXCELLENT trip. We were amazed and thrilled to do so much in two weeks and in such short notice. Again, only two months to plan once our dates were finalized. Between my wife and I, we have the Amex Plat and Gold, Hilton Honors and Aspire, and CFU, CSP. Each card strategically used during our trip. The FHR credit triggered for my wife, and my Aspire triggered the $250 resort credit. If I had to guess, we saved ~$15,000 or more by redeeming CC points. Hope this data point helps some of you trip planning, happy to answer any questions.

I'm a man but I've generally had better haircut experiences with a stylist over a barber. My old stylist had to close shop due to Covid and I tried the new owners a couple times but I'd like to try other places. If anyone here has a double crown as well that would help a ton because you have to get quite specific with it

If they decide that they want to do the barista job, they might have to burn some bridges as they had friends for reference when interviewing with the dealership, and basically 'accepted' the position after a trial shift. All that's pending is an official offer letter from the dealership. Would it be better for them to just take the barista job, make more money now to pay down debts, and then move away whenever. Or just take the dealership job for different work experience.

I am moving to a mid-size city in south where I don't know anyone and single...How /When do you make friends? Everyone tells me I won't have time for getting to know people outside the hospital, and while I believe intern year is going to be tough, I am open to any advice for people who were able to keep up with their social life.
I am a 29 F so I am hoping to not delay dating too much either. I am not a fan of OLD and feels like people are there for short term. Are dating apps my only chance since I don't really have friends there?
I am going into psych so I hope that makes things easier, but we still do IM/Neuro for 6 mo.
