2023.05.29 04:51 sfsr12 Large family (16 people) traveling to Japan

So, my large family is travelling to Japan in July. I am looking for input since our situation is a bit unique because of the group size and ages. We are 16 people, 4 grandparents, 4 parents, 5 young adults/teens (15-21), and 3 younger kids (4-8) Everyone is very active and able to do almost anything - the kids and teens prefer exciting activities and everyone loves good food. My questions (finally) are: 1.). What would you suggest for accomodations for our group? Airbnb/Vrbo, hotels, Ryokan, something else? 2.) We are flying into Osaka/Kyoto and flying out of Tokyo. We have time and activities scheduled for Osaka/Kyoto and Tokyo. We have 3 days of "flex" time that we are trying to decide what to do with. Would you suggest more time in Osaka, Tokyo, or is there somewhere else between them that you would suggest we try to get to with an "extra" 3 days? Thanks - I really appreciate any input!

Center Console Safe is stuck on new 4runner
Somehow, by the grace of Satan a phone charger has gotten stuck somewhere in the mechanism. The Dial can be rotated but the safe won’t lift up because the charging cable has somehow wrapped in there. I’ve tried using an old hotel room key to move them around but no luck. The only thing I can think of now would be to grab a screwdriver and a hammer and just whack away. Haven’t seen anyone else with this problem

2023.05.29 04:47 Ok-Argument8254 Summer in Vegas short getaway

So we are planning to go to Vegas in July for a week. This is probably the first time we going there during summer. We are not planning to visit anything outdoor because of the heat since we did the strip so many time. Just want to getaway from things and relax pretty much. We are wondering if the pool area will be hot as well? We are planning to stay at Mandalay Bay and also another hotel .....either Park MGM or Venetian. Are these hotels good if we plan to stay most of the time indoor?

2023.05.29 04:40 ConnectionUpstairs81 2023 R1 Exhaust: SC, AR, or Racefit?

Aloha,
I'm about to pull the trigger on a new 2023 Black R1 this coming week. Naturally, i'm getting my list of must-have modifications ready and deciding which de-cat exhaust to get has been tough. I love the low profile look of the SC racing, Austin Racing, and Racefit mid and endpipes compared to some of the bulkier ones like Yoshi, Graves, etc. Does anyone have any show stopping reasons for one over another? I am also open to suggestions of another brand not mentioned in a similar style.

Thank you

Am I TR?
Hello! I'm new to this Kibbe business (only been into it for about a week) and I'm looking for some more experience opinions about my type :) At first I thought I was SC, but someone recommended looking at TR. What do y'all think? I'm 5'5", and the tank top in the first two pics stops right at my hip bone. Also please excuse the mess in the backround 😂

2023.05.29 04:30 AshuraBlack Wonrg points calculation - am I crazy or is the ability to read no longer a requirement to work at Marriott Customer Service

Hello people,
I was given the target promotion shown below, where if my stay includes a Friday or Saturday night, I will get double points for the stay.
My issue is that I have booking A for weekdays, and another booking B for the weekend, which are all consecutive nights at the same hotel. As per terms highlighted in picture I think A should qualify for double points as well, as it is one stay with booking B.
After I check out, I get double points for B but not for A. Which is fine, I don't expect them to get it the first time. However, every time I try to contact Bonvoy or the Hotel (who blame each other as per usual btw), the answer is always the same:
  1. we checked every "stay" you had and you did get the points (yes booking B did, I know!)
  2. booking A does not qualify as it does not include a weekend
In spite of how I explained to them over and over that it is one stay, I even showed them a pic of the folio and even with an arrow drawn on the dates to show it is one consecutive stay at the same hotel. Sometimes if I am lucky to get the same agent again, they finally seem to understand but then they will be like "Oh but I can't correct this I need to let another department know." Then without fail the new person who handles it refuses to read anything I am trying to say and repeats the 2 points above. I have tried contacting 4 diff CS teams within Marriott now and the same thing.
I have already escalated the case by directly e-mailing executives at Marriott and while I wait for their results, I would just like someone to sanity check for me, am I crazy for even thinking I should get double points for booking A?

Are You Smarter than a Random Picker? Race 05 Results + Race 06 Predictions
Results

Overview

Race 05 Pick Distribution
Not sure what there is to say this week. The season frontrunners are at the top, the Black Jacks (BJK) Chocolatiers (CHO) are in the basement again, and there's exactly 1 team with more than 20 doubler (2x) picks. There really are only 2 noteworthy placemenbts in this list, and they're both teams that received too many picks. Starting us off, Ecto (ECT) stumbled and could not recover, leading to yet another Overrated verdict. As for Bolt (BLT), the seasoned veteran's struggles have continued, setting the tone for their entire first half of the season.
Let's instead talk about the computer. I will admit, Shimmer (SHM) gave me a huge scare at the beginning of Qualifying Round 2. But all it took was a single yellow flag to begin a collapse that lasted the entire weekend. For those of you who's Quiplash answers said "the computer knows the results beforehand", how do you explain this? Is it throwing for content? It happens almost every season. Low results in the 2nd quarter, and then everything heats up in the backstretch.

Today's Top 10%

Perhaps more interesting this week was the huge shake-up in the standings, and most of that is due to the high level of deviation in scores. You'll see more in the statistics section, but the point range in the top 20 alone is 40 pts. But enough about that. Let's find out who actually is in the top 10%, which also happens to be the top 10 this week (due to 95 responses).
  • Detroit1Time starts us off, and he definitely needed this one. He's been on a strike since the opening round, and only raked in 30 pts at Greenstone. He's been having a few close calls, so it must be a relief to finally be in the clear.
  • NeverEatDawnSoap continues her streak of strong performances in a tussle for the lead. As a Team Momo (TMO) fan, it must have nice for her to have been one of the few fans that has good results from both their favourite teams, as well as their fantasy teams.
  • On the subject of green dumpling fanatics, Momoikkai secures her survival past the 1st half of the tournament - something which she wasn't able to do back in the sand.
  • Pippin is next (yes, I put the 3 she/hers in order on purpose), and when she said she deserved something after the pain of being a fan of Team Primary (TPR) and the Indigo Stars, I knew it was coming eventualy. And so it was. A blue mark before the bronze line, and she sits in a respectable 33rd.
  • Michael van Gerwen't is one of our players who's using a special selection method (the dartboard). Despite this blue mark not meaning too much, on account of his undefeated streak, it's still something nice to see every so often.
  • TheBui20 sneaks their way into the top 20 with a strong performance. This is their 2nd blue mark, despite it only being their 3rd highest score in a round. Man, how life is sometimes.
  • Bami, oh man. They got a strike last round by virtue of not submitting any picks. And this time, they pulled the classic recovery move. And I couldn't be happier. There's nothing that says you're out if you miss a form (unless you see it here...)
  • Lastly on the blue mark list, we find keyboard user, who jumps to 24th after getting rid of his R01 strike. Nothing else to cover here, really.
You may have noticed we have a tie. No, it's not a tie for the last blue mark (thankfully). But it's a tie for the top score. Primary-Hotel-579 (142 pts, 3x RYL, 2x MOM, 1x ARY, 1x PAN, 1x RAZ) hit a huge score for the 2nd consecutive round after some very poor performances in the mercy period. However, since they put Momo (MOM) in the doubler position, they lost out to someone who managed to tie them with the winning dumplin- er, winning tripler. Congratulations to Steel, who picked 3x MOM, 2x ORN, 1x FEN, 1x ARY, 1x MST! Despite no points from the Greyhowl (personal nickname for Fenrir (FEN)), double-digit point hauls from the other 4 marbles was enough to bring them to the top of the round. There's no strikes to remove from either of our round winners, but it shows a flash of brilliance that's necessary to win this tournament.

Statistics

Computer's Score: 30 pts (3x SHM, 2x IBG, 1x CLU, 1x RAZ, 1x SWY) Survival Rate: 96.84% (92 of 95)
Average Player Score: 77.33 pts Range of Scores: 130 pts (12 min, 142 max) Most Frequent Player Score: 64 pts (scored 5 times: araneaesGrasp, Adamajora, Offbeatobject, Sharkeatingleeks, & Harper)

Looking Ahead

49 players need a single win to clinch a silver medal. 30 players are still in the red a bit. 19 players just barely scraped by. 1 player has become a chaos casualty:
  • CalebPro8
I know nobody ever wants to be the odd one out. And if I'm going to be honest, this was a really disappointing weekend for you. If you had swapped any of your regulars (1x) with your tripler (3x), you would've made it through. I don't enjoy saying this, but you have been claimed by the computer.
As for the rest of you? Well, I'm happy to report we've reached another important point:

== CHECKPOINT: HALFTIME ==

It is now halftime. A bit earlier than the last circuit series, but the same as the previous pool. With so many of you left, I think it's best if we look at the entire top 20. And before you ask, no, I'm not doing this to include myself. I'm 21st.
  • The lead battle, just like the one in the main season, is pretty lopsided, since Bored (01st, 591 pts) has held strong at the top since Race 03. His closest challenger in NeverEatDawnSoap (02nd, 563 pts) has also been strong, and both have 4 100-pt rounds.
  • Super Yak (03rd, 550 pts) & meme.ystic (04th, 530 pts) have been hanging out near the top, not making much noise. Both of them scored blue marks in the opening round, and proved they didn't need them for later.
  • Rube Wizard (05th, 521 pts), the runner up in the Marbula One S3 pool, is chasing redemption, now that JustAround3 is busy perhaps angry about how the Thunderbolts (TBL) have been performing as of late?
  • ...and what happened there, Yellup is gone, with 513 pts (06th).
  • The highest scoring player with no strikes or marks is nakomaton, who sits in 07th with 512 pts, and a high score of 124 pts (R03). Keep up the good work!
  • Zayvilinixity (08th, 505) describes themselves on Discord as "your local idiot", and I don't think that name really fits here. Despite decreasing scores every time they set a new high score, they've been holding their own, only being scoring fewer than 90 pts in 1 round (and that was thanks to Clementin (CLM) putting on a circus at home).
  • Defending champion KD9 finds himself, fittingly, in 09th place. He started off with a huge score that had a very significant number to him - 144, which is his highest single-round score, and a former AYSTARP record.
  • Up next we have Lazarus - sorry, I mean Solitarius Unenlagia (10th, 496 pts). He has what are perhaps my favourite Confessional Box segments, and his rivalries with players like Drew (61st, 379 pts, 1 strike) are hilarious to watch unfold. How will this one shake up?
  • I'm going to a bit of jumping around the order here, since I want to look at PKShyBoyO7 (11th, 493 pts) and JustAPerson (15th, 482 pts). These two, aside from R04, have been very consistent competitors to watch out for.
  • Speaking of models of consistency, we've also got rainbowse (13th, 491 pts), who's opening triplers were the rivals of Marbula One S3 (the O'rangers and Crazy Cat's Eyes (CCE)), leading them to a pair of 123 pt rounds.
  • I've already touched a bit on Steel. He's been near the top before, but for now, he finds himself in 12th place with 492 pts. Now comes the hard part - keeping it moving. Don't let a repeat of the Marble Rally S6 pool happen.
  • Viridian, in addition to his graphic design prowess, has also been holding strong. He's not currently doing as well as he was with his 4 round blue mark stretch, but he's managing decently well (15th, 482 pts).
  • Mercy is up. He currently sits with no blue marks, but is also undefeated. 3 rounds with over 100 pts, and showing no sign of slowing down, boasting 480 pts and a provisional 17th place.
  • It hurts quite a bit to see Alexis_HK (18th, 472 pts) all the way down here, after she had 3 exceptional rounds in the mercy period. However, she has just come off 2 rounds in the 50's. If the computer didn't suck as bad as it did, I don't think she'd be in this writeup.
  • TheBui20 started off with with a performance that stung - 40 pts. However, they immediately bounced back, managing 3 triple-digit scores, just sneaking into a tie near the top 20 (19th, 470 pts). Who are they tied with? Well...
  • ...it's Solaris (19th, 470 pts). The man who declared war on the Shining Swarm (SHN) after his R11 exit during the most recent Marble League was given a lucky break when that same team fell to the bottom 5. He's still on the hunt for the glory at the end of a season, having fallen in the last round twice now. I believe in you!
And that's our halfway point recap! There still is something missing, however. Your bronze medals!
98 medals of bronze on the wall, 98 medals of bronze...
3 more rounds survived nets you a silver, and reaching the end with 0 or 1 strikes will award a gold! Best of luck!
Unfortunately, we're about to go to a clutter circuit to a total clusterf*ck. Sleet Street is back... oh well. Here comes Race 06.
https://preview.redd.it/ne6dholpjo2b1.png?width=1540&format=png&auto=webp&s=a9f6abbc3adb42fdfb46bf4a66fec04d12d120cd
Things are going to get interesting now. The computer decided to make up for that time he replicated every pick aside from his tripler, having reused his tripler from last week yet again. Here's the full list:
3x Shining Swarm (SHN), sending out Glimmer (GLM) 2x Crazy Cat's Eyes (CCE), sending out Red Eye (RDI) 1x Hazers (HAZ), sending out Cloudy (CLD) 1x Pinkies (PNK), sending out Pinky Winky (WIN) 1x Thunderbolts (TBL), sending out Thunder (THD)
The picks all looked decent enough.... and then I got to the bottom. It's time to see if everyone who said "the computer picking the Thunderbolts makes a round easy
To submit predictions, CLICK HERE. Remember, you cannot use a team as your tripler if you've already used them there. It doesn't matter which marble was tripled; if you use 1, they're both off the table for the top spot. Using a team as a doubler or regular has no limitation.

2023.05.29 04:29 MattThrowAway19 [34][M4F][Lancaster][Pennsylvania, USA] Looking for a friend to help me out

Hello there!
I am a 34 year old virgin bi guy from a conservative/religious family with a bit of social anxiety. I have only recently been coming to terms with my sexuality. Had some experience with guys but next to none with girls, I am looking to change that.
I am white 5'10 and about 160 lbs. I don't drink, smoke and am free of diseases. PC gamer but I also have a PS5, you are more likely to find me on my PC. Would rather go for a cup of coffee than a drink at a bar. Open to some outdoor activities, would like to try and be a bit more active then I am now. I am not much of a TV watcher, I don't even have cable lol. It would seem that only having internet is not that uncommon in today's world. When I am watching movies or a TV show odds are it will be something sci-fi, action, or fantasy. I used to like some reality shows but I kind of got bored of that sort of thing. I am not into sports, playing or watching.
I am willing to travel a bit but not to the other side of the country lol. I live alone and can host without issue, a hotel room could work too if that makes more sense. I would prefer to chat a bit and get to know each other at least a little before anything happens, I just want both of us to be comfortable with everything.
Age or experience is not that important, just be legal and safe. Ideally I would like a FWB situation.
If you want to know more or think you can help send me a message :)
I also will not send money to anyone over chat for any reason! If we want to split some costs we can do that in person. So many scams going around!
Thanks for reading, I hope to hear from you soon.

2023.05.29 04:28 Active_Requirement5 Negative Comments from other family around SD

Sorry, this is long. I am just wondering how others handle negative comments from ex spoused/baby mamas or their significant others around stepchild?
We have sole custody of stepdaughter 15 all this past school year and this coming summer. We also took on sole responsibility of any expenses and agreed ex-wife would not pay any child support or medical bills. They have been divorced for 13 years. Stepdaughter is going to a week long camp in exe’s town. We contacted ex asking if she wanted to see daughter, but she didn’t reply until the literal morning we were leaving.
Ex and her bf came and picked up daughter from hotel and immediately started picking apart everything we did with her this school year.
While with us she was on honor roll for the first time, walked onto Varsity softball, JROTC, took animation classes, guitar lessons, private softball lessons, drivers ed, got driving permit and started private counseling. She will also do a softball camp and some SAT prep this summer.
The first thing they asked was “Why didn’t your dad just come down on Saturday so we could spend all weekend with you?”. My husband was surprised, he said “They didn’t even respond to my texts when I asked if they wanted to meetup to see or have dinner while in town, they responded to me Sunday morning.” keep in mind, it is a 4 hour drive for us and we both work.
The very next thing they asked was if we go to church (they ask her this every time). Daughter said no and they said, “Well when we have you next year, you’re going to church and church camp. What do they even do on Sundays if they don’t go to church? Just grocery shop, why can’t they go to church?” Kind of the pot calling the kettle black as the mom has 2 other children by different men that she was never married to and the youngest is 3 and they still aren’t married. Not to mention she was still with second babys father in a relationship and living together when she met her current BF and then ended up leaving and getting pregnant. Second baby’s father called and told my husband she would always be out all night and leave both kids with him. We didn’t get involved in that at all, not our business (as long as my stepdaughter was safe).
They then asked about her grades and said “You’re gonna have to work hard on keeping your grades up cuz we live a different lifestyle than your dad.” I don’t know what that means, daughter implied they do a lot more activities, but all we did for grades was consistently log in and check her grades/assignments are turned in and email her teachers to see if there were missing assignments. We also didn’t give her any other responsibilities besides school and activities so she could focus on homework.
Lastly, they asked if she would do Softball and JROTC and almost talking her out of it because “she probably wouldn’t make Varsity at their bigger school”.
The ex usually isn’t super negative, its usually her BF and I hate hearing about him because he is so negative to my stepdaughter.
He told my stepdaughter an art degree was a waste of money, even though he’s not paying for any of her college (nor is her mom, just me and spouse), that she can’t go to a community college (again they aren’t paying), that we live in the sticks (we live in a suburb of a large city) and constant comments about why we don’t attend church or “do anything fun”. The bf even said he didn’t want the older sibling (who isn’t even his kid) to take dance lessons because it would “make him gay” or when my stepdaughter shared her love of anime with his son she was “turning him into a nerd”.
After many losses and fertility issues, we are finally pregnant with an Ours baby and they immediately laughed and told my husband “You better hope it’s not a girl because our daughter will be jealous.” So lord knows what they tell her on the side. My stepdaughter was excited and even more so when she found out she was finally getting a sister (she loves her little brothers from her mom dearly, but wanted a sister in addition. She is a great big sister!)
I don’t want my stepdaughter to not talk to me about things in her life, I have always been someone she felt she could tell things to for the past 7 years, but I can’t stand hearing ANYTHING those two say (specifically the bf) when it is negative. How do you deal with this?!
Only 2 more years before college, I don’t even care that we still have to pay CS for 3 months after graduation (although I wish it went straight to my stepdaughter for anything she wants of needs for college at that point) I just need to know how you deal with these comments until you don’t have to deal with ex or her bf directly anymore?

All I remember of it is it was in a green bottle, and had a 4 sided pyramid shaped bumpy texture. I'm pretty sure it was a glass bottle? And the texture was where you'd put your hand I'm pretty sure? And it was water or sparkly water, not soda or a wine. It's been years since I've seen it. All I know is it looks like something a dapper lawyer or businessman in the 50s would drink. Help me find this water, I want a bottle of it. If you think you have it, send a photo or a name. I should be able to recognize if it's the right one by memory. This was sold in the us, in denver, saw it at a kroger while on a trip when I stopped in denver to stay in a hotel and wanted some frozen stuff to eat. I bought totino's. I didn't buy the water and never saw it again. What water brand was this and is it still sold? It didn't seem like a local to denver brand because it seemed from what I remember to be high quality and had a name that was as fancy as the bottle was. But if it is denver specific tell me! I'll go back to get one next time! This was 2 or 3 years ago.

2023.05.29 04:28 Darker_Zelda IHG hotels resort like hotels?

I have a ton of IHG points that I am looking to spend on a family resort. I've already been to the Kimpton Seafire in the Cayman Islands and I really enjoyed that hotel because it was like a resort with a lot of great amenities and very family friendly. In addition, it's a high quality hotel where I was able to score 4 nights for 54k points a night over Christmas.
I am looking for other hotels in the IHG portfolio that are similar to the Kimpton Seafire in terms of resort style, family friendly, good redemption value, and within 6 hours of the US. What other hotels fit the bill in their portfolio?

2023.05.29 04:24 missgemini2022 TSA/Airport/Travel/Plane - Family Trip - Need Advice

I’m hoping this community can help! We are going on a family trip and not sure how we can bring my toddler’s food on the plane. We have to cook a majority of his food due to his medical condition and severe food allergies. As such, there’s one dish that he enjoys and eats regularly, but I am not sure how we can travel on the plane with it and get through TSA. I can cook and prepare the day we leave. The flight will only be about 2 hours, but I would like to have the food prepared and ready for us when we land and for the few days that we are on vacation. The hotel has a dedicated microwave, refrigerator, and space in the hotel room. However, I won’t be able to find the multiple ingredients or be able to cook it fresh. Also, he does not like the taste of it when it’s frozen and defrosted/warmed up. Do you have any advice on how I can make this work? TIA!
