2023.06.09 14:55 Second_Tree1 Sharing ways of improving my symptoms and my experience with Meniere's
**I am not a doctor, and this post and the comments below are not medical advice. Always seek the guidance of your doctor or other qualified health professionals with any questions you may have regarding your health or a medical condition.**
Hello Friends, I hope everyone is doing well! I promised to share my experience when I "heal" or significantly improve from Meniere’s and here is my fifth post. I am not completely healed. I still have a few symptoms which I will talk about, but my symptoms have subsided significantly. In this post, I will try to touch on all the factors that have helped me.
- Have faith: I know that Meniere’s is not great, but it is not the end of the world. Meniere’s lowers the quality of life, there is no question about that. But, as far as I know, Meniere’s does not affect how many years we live. And while we are alive, we control how we want to live our lives. Stay positive and move forward. Life is a constant battle and no matter how hard we try, sometimes we take two steps forward, one step back. Don’t let the one step back disappoint you. When we try to push our symptoms away, nature might push back; for every action, there is a reaction and that is a law of this world. Read Power of Positive Thinking by Peale and The Dynamic Laws of Prosperity by Catherine Ponder to learn how to stay positive. Google or YouTube Terry Whals and see how she has been able to deal with her MS. I believe, there is a solution for every single problem; we just need to look hard enough to find it.
- Diet: I started doing Keto over two years ago. During my “keto flu” I started to feel amazing. All of my symptoms went away and I felt completely normal (without Meniere’s symptoms for about three weeks). Then my symptoms reappeared but with lower intensity. To this day, I am still following the keto diet because of all the benefits such as less intense Meniere’s symptoms, higher energy, no more bloating, no more heart palpitation, no more digestive issues, etc. I also tried the AIP diet, but I was not really able to recognize the effect of different foods on my Meniere’s. I might have found a few foods that slightly worsened my Meniere’s symptoms but the change in my symptoms was so minor that they could have been unrelated. So, I am still not sure about the benefits of the AIP diet, but some people swear by it and I totally believe them. I also tried the carnivore diet but it did not seem to improve me in any way. In the end, I am still doing Keto while avoiding most dairies.
- Antivirals: in the links below Dr. Richard Gacek and others show the effect of antivirals to control Meniere’s and other similar conditions. At first, I tried the John of Ohio regimen (JOH). I started this regimen and Keto at around the same time so I cannot talk much about the effectiveness of the regimen. But in my opinion, if the JOH regimen relieved me of my symptoms, it should have continued to work. But as I said, my symptoms went away for only three weeks, and I relate that to keto flu and the release of fluid from my body. But again, some people swear by the JOH regimen, and I totally believe them. According to the articles, Meniere’s may be caused by the HSV 1 or 2 virus so, I decided to visit Dr. Mark Gacek (online using telehealth), the son of Dr. Richard Gacek who wrote some of the articles below, and he prescribed me Acyclovir and Meclizine. The first day I took only one Acyclovir and oooh boy the next day I had vertigo for 15+ hours. I could feel that this vertigo was different than my previous vertigo episodes and I was certain that Acyclovir caused this episode of vertigo. The next day all of my symptoms went away except ear fullness which still remains but with way less intensity. Physical stress, emotional stress, and sudden weather changes are some of the factors that affect my ear fullness and/or occasional brain fog. Over time I also realized that not getting enough sleep is probably the most important thing that affects my symptoms almost instantly (try to get at least 8 hours of high-quality sleep every night!). All in all, my symptoms after visiting Dr. Gacek subsided by like 85%. I highly recommend anyone with Meniere’s like symptoms to visit Dr. Gacek, either in person or online. He has been extremely helpful to me, and I am sure he will be very helpful to you as well.

2023.06.09 12:00 AutoModerator Daily r/LawnCare No Stupid Questions Thread
Please use this thread to ask any lawn care questions that you may have. There are no stupid questions. This includes weed, fungus, insect, and grass identification. For help on asking a question, please refer to the "How to Get the Most out of Your Post" section at the top of the sidebar.
Check out the sidebar if you're interested in more information on plant hardiness zones, identifying problems, weed control, fertilizer, establishing grass, and organic methods. Also, you may contact your local Cooperative Extension Service for local info.
How to Get the Most out of Your Post: Include a photo of the problem. You can upload to imgur.com for free and it's easy to do. One photo should contain enough information for people to understand the immediate area around the problem (dense shade, extremely sloped, etc.). Other photos should include close-ups of the grass or weed in question: such as this, this, or this. The more photos or context to the situation will help us identify the problem and propose some solutions.

2023.06.09 11:37 ajatkotwal Onderhoud SVC02 in Wicket and Craig traditional harness medium brown
| Ok so I don't think there is a ton of posts on Onderhoud boots and especially the SCV02 which I think i just beautiful and is kinda the onderhoud star. So the specs first Upper: SVC02 in W&C traditional harness medium brown Natural upper thread 4 speedhooks Brass eyelets Size 46,5D Bottom: Veldtschoen Unstructured toe Natural welt and edge finish Natural outsole stitching White supergrip II halfsole Woodsman heels Sizing So I generally fit 12D US in all major brands like Viberg, grant stone, Redwing etc but I somehow fit 12.5D for a sagara. So I went with a 12.5D and it's slightly lose which is perfect. A slightly thick sock or insole and I'm good! Leather. So I basically got this order through the lottery that Onderhoud does on their Instagram stories where if you reply quickly, you get the leather in the story and thrn you can make it to your boot type. Now, this is my first time with W&c leather and open question to anyone seeing the pics. Are those patters on the left boot loose grain?? Looks They look sick right?.. I mean on a pair of slim-ish trousers they look fire in my opinion. I literally just copied this whole makeup from a post on onderhoud's intsa page. I LOVE it Quality I have attached some close up shots of the stitching. I think it would give you a fair idea of the make quality. Will post a review in some months. submitted by ajatkotwal to goodyearwelt [link] [comments] |

2023.06.09 10:48 cats_smuggler Loneliness
I have been going on dates, cuddling, embracing, making love and spending all my free time with loneliness for 22 years now.
I found out that being okay to with oneself is one of the greatest keys to a fulfilling life. I know it is hard as fuck. I don't have any one size fits all advice on how to be happy with oneself. But I have seen people who are satisfied with themselves and they are living their best lives. I didn't win the lottery in the good looking gene department, all of that went to my elder sister (don't worry I don't despise her, she has and always has been my mentor and the person I trust the most in the world). I also don't have a good relationship with food. Not quite social too .
So what do I do? I have started to take care of myself. I started with taking care of my skin.... I put cream everyday, along with vitamin c and sunscreen.... I started to go to the gym 5 days a week with my dad. Working on my social skills by managing my dad's job and negotiating with customers. And I am trying to make my friend circle diverse so as to become open minded... I stopped expecting anything from anyone... Well gaming has also been a big addiction to me... So I do what I can to kill time... Reading through novels one after the other.... Spending up to 9 hours in my shop.... Talking to my parents about it..... However i haven't left it completely...... After all I still love gaming and have had my best childhood moment in the form of it. I have a bit of a shy personality and was a magnet for bullies.... So it was my escapade... But now I have reduced my gaming for almost 11 hours everyday to 4 hours now... Hopefully will make it 2 hrs by the end of the year...
I am still in an extremely long way to achieve it but I have started taking a few steps towards it. I still feel self pity and I am a good for nothing guy from time to time but that feeling has become a little less strong than before. I have my good and bad moments. But that's what life is.... I have never pursued any girl romantically, let alone be on a date. Also I haven't had a single match on any dating sites and that shit makes you lose all your confidence.. but I am constantly reminded by my family that I am valuable even when I don't feel like that. My mom never fails to compliment my looks when she sees me taking care of myself. So for me the best way to deal with loneliness is my family ( I have a few friends and I do socialize but most of them live quite far away from my hometown, so I tend to spend most of my time with my family. I study in Kathmandu and my hometown is about 300km away. Also in our culture it is normal to stay with your parents no matter how old you are, in fact it is encouraged even after marriage).
In the end do what suits you. As I said there is no one size fits all advice for this. You gotta pave your own way. All the best on you lr personal journey... Also if any of y'all need someone to talk or rant ..hmu..... Not tryna brag but my peers have told me I am a key listener.. Thank you hearing
P.s my original draft for this post is under the comment section on one of the posts in dating advice subreddit. I just felt it belongs here... So here goes nothing

2023.06.09 10:31 Brandianne79 Hit and run fatality.. Ohio
Hey guys.. I'm not sure if any of you are from Ohio(Marysville, Delaware, Kenton, Richwood, Marion) My husband was fatally injured in a hit and run accident on May 13th in La Rue Oh. The driver was in a 2007-2013 BMW X5.. the only reason I'm posting here is because my husband had an STI.. that's what he was driving.. he loved that car and I know if any of you guys are local you'll keep an eye out.. or maybe at the track because this BMW was so fast.. Johnny's Subie had stage 2 or 3 upgrades and this guy has no problem keeping up.. the dri can't from Richwood Oh, and attempted to run a woman off the road.. she started video after he passed her and scared her.. Johnny left our house at 745 to go get a pizza we ordered.. when the woman with the video passed our road Johnny had already turned off of it.. he was in front of them.. she lost him going into town ... There is one stop light and Johnny should have went straight.. she didn't see them on her phone camera at the light but a camera on a house showed the BMW with Johnny behind it traveling at a very high rate of speed out of town .. Johnny had turned to follow the bmw.. the guy has his arm out of the window flipping Johnny off.. I don't know what happened to make him follow the BMW... I believe he either saw this guy do something to someone else.. or the guy hit/tried to hit him when he passed him.. Johnny followed him a few miles out of town.. then turned around and headed back towards town.. the BMW turned around and followed him.. the BMW immediately started to pass in a curve.. there was an oncoming car and the BMW waited until the last minute and dove into Johnny's lane.. either hitting him and forcing him off.. or Johnny instinctively swerved to avoid impact... The driver never stopped and he didn't go back the way he was originally heading... The troopers have nothing as of yet and I'm trying to get this out as much as possible.. they got warrants for the cell towers.. they retrieved the "black box" from the Subie.. and they got a list of registered bmws in all the surrounding counties..
He was only gone from home for 8 minutes.. the troopers spent the first week and a half insisting that this was someone he was racing... Because they found a track slip from the weekend before.. it was the first time he ever went.. this was not normal behavior.. he did not go speeding through our tiny little town for no reason.. He LOVED that car.. it was his dream car and he worked so hard for it and on it💔... please help me get this out.. thank you so much

2023.06.09 07:43 Professor_squirrelz Can I have some advice for my situation about applying to a Clinical Psychology PhD program in the USA?
Hi, I’m about to complete my BS in psychology from Ohio State University this summer and I would like to apply to a PhD Clinical Psychology program.
My current GPA is a 3.35, though my major GPA should be about a 3.5 or 3.6. I do believe I can get my GPA up to a 3.4-3.5 before I graduate. I also have a year of research experience, though due to COVID reasons and me taking off a semester of college, I only spent a semester in each lab. I was a TA for a year for one of the professors whose lab I was a RA in though and he is willing to give me a letter of recommendation. I do have a bit of volunteer clinical experience (1.5 years) working with young adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, which is the area of research I’m interested in.
Now I know my GPA is not great and I’ll need more research experience to be competitive, so I don’t want to be the person to just ask “Do you think I’ll have a chance to get into a PhD Clinical Psychology program”. Instead I wanted to ask for advice on what to do for the next 2-5 years to have a chance on getting into a decent program.
I am willing to do anything (other than redo undergrad, I’ll do a masters), including trying to volunteer in a research lab for a couple years (finding a paid job seems almost impossible but advice for that would be awesome too), learn a lot more stats and learn how to use stats programs like R and SPSS on my own time, and try to reach out to professors I would like to do my PhD under to see if I can do any volunteer work for them. I really would just like your advice on my best course of action right now. I am primarily interested in autism, ADHD and other developmental disabilities research and I can’t see myself doing anything else other than being a clinical psychologist. Not making excuses but a lot of my grades in college is due to health issues and poor work habits but I’ve managed to overcome most of that.
Sorry for the long post. Thanks in advanced!

2023.06.09 06:22 KittenKabootle23 1 day in NYC with my husband and 5 year old-tips?
My family and I are heading to New York City towards the end of July for one day. We will be staying at a resort in Pennsylvania but heading to the city for one of those days. I have a list of things I want to see and some ideas. The biggest thing is I want to keep them within the same region, I know there will be a lot of walking, and we are planning on bringing an umbrella stroller for our 5-year-old. I would like to stay in the Manhattan area, see times square, Central park, Top of the Rock, we are looking at tickets for funny girl (btw does anyone know if a kid would be entertained?) I would love to walk The Highline, and possibly glance at Cornelia Street, yes I'm a Taylor Swift fan, no, I'm not going to go stalk her up old apartment... Also, does anyone know if the Harry Potter Store is worth the long line? Plus good (cheap) pizza! I know a few of these places could take an entire day themselves, especially Central Park.
I want to keep all three of us entertained, but I want to see as much as we can. And if possible, I would like to give her an experience that she would only get in New York and not here in Ohio. Does anyone have any suggestions on traveling around the city? Are the places I listed close to each other? I planned on doing a ton more research on reddit, but with the shutdown happening on June 30th, I don't know how much I can do before then. We had a thought of parking in Jersey and taking a train into the City and using the subway and walking the whole day. But I would like to see Times Square at night, and I heard it's in advisable to ride the train after 10:00. I want to keep my child safe, and to add I am legally blind and will be walking around with a cane, I feel like my husband is going to have to babysit both of us while navigating. Are there any resources or tips or anything that anyone can suggest? A parking spot? It would be nice to drive through some neighborhoods but we won't don't want to pay $50 to park for a day or something.
I don't know if this is still happening but years ago when I was researching New York City on this subreddit there was a company by locals where a local would take you and show you around the city, I can't remember much more than that does anyone have any idea what I might be talking about? Sorry that this post seems a little rushed, I just saw that Reddit is shutting down on the 30th, these subreddits are my main researching grounds and I wanted to make my first post as quick as possible. Thank you!
Edit: also if anyone could help with itinerary planning, so we can squeeze in as much as possible?

2023.06.09 04:35 stayclassypeople The 1984-85 Bowl Season
If you want to catch up on prior seasons, check out the master post below!
https://www.reddit.com/CFB/comments/13rssrf/bowls\_and\_the\_race\_for\_the\_mythical\_national/?utm\_source=share&utm\_medium=web2x&context=3 Setting the Stage
Team | record | AP | Coaches |
BYU | 12-0 | 1 (33) | 1 (24) |
Oklahoma | 9-1-1 | 2 (16) | 2 (8) |
Florida | 9-1-1 | 3 (6) | 6 (2) |
Washington | 10-1 | 4 (1) | 3 (1) |
Nebraska | 9-2 | 5 | 4 |
Ohio State | 9-2 | 6 | 5 |
Important games and notes - September 1: unranked BYU opened the season with a win at #3 Pittsburgh, 20-14. Pitt would finish the year 3-7-1.
- September 1st and 8th: Florida lost 20-32 vs #10 Miami then tied with unranked LSU 21-21. Following their 3rd game, head coach Charlie Pell was fired for committing numerous NCAA recruiting violations. Interim coach Galen Hall took over and the Gators went 8-0 rest of the way, but were barred from playing in a bowl game for the aforementioned violations.
- October 13: #3 Oklahoma tied #1 Texas, 15-15. The Horns would finish the year unranked
- October 27th: #2 Oklahoma lost to unranked Kansas in Lawrence, 11-28. Kansas would finish 5-6
- November 10th: #1 Washington lost at #14 USC, 7-16
- November 17th and 24th: #2 Oklahoma beat #1 Nebraska and #3 Oklahoma St in back to back weeks, effectively ending each team's national title hopes. The victory over Nebraska allowed BUY to ascend to #1 for the first time that season.
- November 24th: "Hail Flutie" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q3ykWbu2Gl0
1984 was a bit of a wild season, with 6 different teams spending time as #1 at some point. Only BYU stood unbeaten at 12-0 (besides Cal State Fullerton who wasn't even invited to a bowl). The Cougars were obligated to play in the Holiday bowl as WAC champions. Multiple teams (including Washington) turned down an invitation to play in the Holiday bowl, leading it to pair the Cougars with unranked Michigan. There was carnage everywhere as every other top 5 team minus Washington had either a 2nd lost or a tie on their resume. Additionally, Florida would have normally had gone to the Sugar Bowl as SEC champ, but their post season ban barred them from doing so, effectively eliminating them from national title contention. Washington actually finished 2nd to USC in the Pac 10, allowing them to accept an at large bid to the Orange Bowl vs #2 Oklahoma. Leading up to the bowls, Sooners coach Barry Switzer and Orange Bowl organizers campaigned heavily to convince pollsters that the Orange Bow should be the de facto national title game and blasted BYU's 'weak' schedule. Only time would tell if his politicking would work.
The Bowls
Holiday Bowl: #1 BYU vs unranked Michigan (December 21st) Leading up to this game, even Michigan coach Bo Schembechler doubted BYU as he felt they're vaunted passing game was overrated relative to the other Big 10 teams his Wolverines faced. Although they were only 6-5, the Wolverine's were probably better than their record indicated. Mid season, starting QB Jim Harbaugh broke his arm vs Michigan St, leading to 4 losses in 6 games. Its a shame he hadn't yet discovered the bone strengthening powers of milk, something I like to think he learned from BYU after this game/season. Anyway, back to the game. After a scoreless 1st quarter, the teams' traded TDs in the 2nd. BYU kicked a late FG to lead 10-7 at half. The Wolverines scored the 2nd half's first 10 points to lead 17-10 before BYU tied it early 4th quarter at 17 all. It was a wild finish from there. Late in the 4th, BYU QB, Robbie Bosco threw a crucial pick, but the defense held and forced Michigan to punt on the ensuing possession. Bosco made the most of his 2nd chance for a game winning drive, and drove the Cougars down the field for a decisive TD with 1:23 left to win the game 24-17. The Cougars won their 24th consecutive game to finish 13-0 and stake their claim for their 1st national championship.
Orange Bowl: #2 Oklahoma vs #4/3 Washington As previously mentioned, Barry Switzer campaigned before, and after, this game that the winner should be declared national champs. With a win, #2 Oklahoma would be hard for the Pollsters to ignore as their last two games including wins over top 10 teams. If Washington won, they would almost certainly jump idle Florida (in the AP) and Oklahoma, but would they receive enough love to leapfrog BYU? After all, they didn't even win the Pac 10 and had 0 wins over ranked teams entering the Orange Bowl. Regardless of whether or not the voters would listen to Switzer, it turned out to be a pretty good game. Washington raced out to a 14-0 first quarter lead, before Oklahoma rallied to tie it 14 all a the half. The Sooners then scored a FG early 4th to lead 17-14. Washington rallied with a 74 TD with less six minutes to go. Oklahoma muffed the ensuing kick off giving the Huskies the ball at the 2 and an easy TD to extend their lead to 28-17, which would hold as the final score.
Final Results
Team | Record | AP | Coaches |
BYU | 13-0 | 1 (38) | 1 (28) |
Washington | 11-1 | 2 (16) | 2 (11) |
Florida | 9-1-1 | 3 (6) | 7 (1) |
Despite protests, whining and screaming, BYU was voted #1 in each poll and claim its first ever consensus national championship. While Washington did receive double digit 1st place votes in each poll, it wasn't enough to leapfrog BYU. In fairness to BYU, Washington's schedule, outside of the Orange bowl win wasn't much better. Ironically Washington had their chance to play BYU head to head, but declined a Holiday bowl invite, choosing to play Oklahoma in the Orange Bowl instead. Love it, hate it, agree or disagree, BYU was your 1984 national champs. To date, this is the last time a team outside of one of the major conferences (PAC, SEC, Big 8/12, ACC, Big 10) that would win a championship in major college football.
*Washington and BYU would play in the the 1985 season, with BYU coming away with a 31-3 win.

2023.06.09 04:29 LupsterHeckYou Advice for how to approach move in day with homophobic parents
I am an incoming freshman for the fall semester and I am transgender. My college allowed us to choose 3 potential "communities" in which to dorm with for the year and being that I am indeed transgender I put the LGBTQ+ community as my first choice.
My problem arises with my parents (homophobes) if they find out that I am going to be in this Living situation I have no idea how they will react. I think I could lie to them about the living arrangements as long as the building doesn't look extremely Queer on move-in day, but I am really unsure of how move-in day will look. Pretty much I am now stuck between emailing the admissions office and asking to be moved to another building or taking the risk and potentially having them find out I willing chose to live there.
Am I overthinking the whole thing? I don't know how obvious it will be that the building is the LGBT one. Any potential advice from anyone who has done the whole move-in thing before?
Furthermore I applied for a room really late (3 hours till deadline) and had no time left to actually find a roommate so I'm stuck with a random. would it be rude to ask them to wait in putting out any pride things until after I move in? I really don't want to make a bad impression immediately but I don't want to have my parents freaking out at the college demanding I be moved or anything of the like.
Additional info: The college itself is rather accepting of the whole thing as many orientation leaders themselves were trans when I went. Also I'm attending college in the USA, in Ohio if that somehow matters in regards to any laws that may prevent the admissions office from emailing my parents about anything.
I will be going to bed within minutes after posting so I don't sit here stressing and refreshing the tab again and again, so I wont be responding to anything for at least 8 hours.

2023.06.09 03:02 BrandonDavidTattooer New collector here with a couple questions I’m sure are very common. I apologize in advance!
I’m dipping my toes into this with retail because after visiting two hobby stores near me, the hobby pack prices are too much for my amateur experience. I want to buy cards and I want to have fun but I also want a bit of a lottery chance at something good.
My question is, as a retail buyer, what are the higher ceiling things I should buy for something a bit more then fun but also not full $ hobby? I want to have a lottery chance to get something good but I’m Not trying to do what hobby requires for boxes etc.
My local Walmart and target have these for most sports, Panini mosaic, prism, contenders, chronicles, and prolly a few others.
Some various topps stuff like heritage and a few others from a few other places like Allen and ginter. (I think I spelled that right).
I have been buying panini prism basketball and mosaics. Both blaster and hangers. And a bit of optics. I have dabbled in the others but I only started back about a month ago. Grabbed a hanger of nfl mosaic today and some heritage baseball the other day.
I bought the stuff above from what I read off other peoples post recently. These cards were mentioned multiple times so i tried those first and have enjoyed them but want to get a bit more info before I spend more money.
Excuse the long winded post, thank you!
