2023.06.08 09:59 A_horse_a_piece77 "Yesterday's Soccer Mom Is Today's Domestic Extremist": A Guide To Surviving The Culture
| Author and conservative commentator Peachy Keenan is sick and tired of yesterday's soccer mom being treated as today's "domestic extremist", in public discourse by media gatekeepers and government officials alike—and all the while parents are sheepishly and too easily abdicating their natural role as captains and defenders of the household. https://twitter.com/KeenanPeachy/status/1666121050567110656 https://preview.redd.it/kdnwwyvt1r4b1.png?width=790&format=png&auto=webp&s=7afed3bdff34a513a8b78f22fe5e37368066ecad "They like to make us, the normal people, the moms and dads of America into extremists. But if you look around it's pretty easy to see who the real extremists are," Keenan told Harris Faulkner on Fox prime time Tuesday night. https://www.foxnews.com/video/6328922595112 She is calling for a back to the basics while writing from deep behind 'enemy lines': southern California. " Parenting is not a game. There is no do-over. You are all that stands between your small charges and the roiling storms ahead—and the band of purple-haired nonbinary pirates that’s about to storm the deck." Keenan has written a new handbook of sorts, or a practical guide to winning the culture war and protecting your family from the ravings of " Childless weirdos have taken over every institution we look to for guidance on how to raise good citizens..." You can find the book here: https://www.amazon.com/Domestic-Extremist-Practical-Winning-Culture/dp/1684513529/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=Domestic+Extremist%3A+A+Practical+Guide+to+Winning+the+Culture+War&s=books&sr=1-1 Keenan holds nothing back in the following blistering commentary from her book [emphasis ZH]: It has become only too clear what this absence of parental authority has wrought. Truly insane people have taken over the American education system, Big Pharma, and Big Tech. They know the best way to reach the Final Solution of the American family is to focus on young, impressionable minds. We are enjoying the fruits of their labor now: an explosion of teen depression and suicide, an epidemic of children who are confused if they’re boys or girls, and an incredible 40 percent of Gen Z reporting that they are some letter in the ever-expanding alphabet soup known as LGBTQ+. https://preview.redd.it/q8pbczeb2r4b1.png?width=722&format=png&auto=webp&s=fb9352ba054a4f428fe4c11fad712f52188e5bfc https://twitter.com/CitizenFreePres/status/1666257317120323585 Who are the real extremists? The below is an excerpt from Domestic Extremist: A Practical Guide to Winning the Culture War, by Peachy Keenan, with permission of the author. The book is now available from Regnery. https://www.regnery.com/9781684513529/domestic-extremist/ * * * You had a baby? Look at you—you’re the captain now! Or are you? The words on a poster taped to a teacher’s classroom door at a New Jersey public school expose the precarious corner American parents have been painted into. “If your parents aren’t accepting of your identity, I’m your mom now.” The poster featured a drawing of a mama bear tending to her bear cubs, who are each painted the color of a different LGBTQ flag. Parents, I have bad news. You’ve got competition. Someone posted a job listing looking for a new authority figure in your house, and they hired everyone who applied. Lots of other adults, most of them unpleasant strangers, would like to raise your children for you—or at least get your children to hate you. This may already be happening—and you’ll be the last to know! All your hard work to keep creeps, perverts, and kiddie-sniffers away from your kids may get reversed in an instant when you’re not looking. Some parents are okay with this. They can barely handle “adulting” themselves and are thrilled not to make any tough parental decisions. Abdicating their natural role as master and commander of the household is lazy, but it’s a defensive posture. They live in terror of accusations from other parents of “closed-mindedness,” or worse, being a prude. American parents have either forgotten their innate, God-given authority over their household or surrendered it in the face of relentless pressure over many years from the outside. Just as millennia of trickling snowmelt can hollow out mighty granite mountains and turn them into canyons, a half-century of unchecked influence by feminists and far-left progressives have chipped away at the role of parents in their children’s lives. What is left is a barren wasteland, a valley of shadows, where mothers and fathers have been reduced to nothing more than the oldest dependents in the house. Your job as a parent is not easy, but it’s simple: feed, nurture, love, and protect. In the face of life-and-death danger—say, an escaped tiger or an ax-wielding lunatic—probably 100 percent of parents would risk their lives for their children, even die, without hesitation. So why are so many reluctant to defend their children from less obvious, but equally dangerous, scenarios? You can tell when you’re about to be trampled by elephants. It’s trickier when the trampling is invisible and being committed by a young teacher with peace stickers on xe/xer’s car. I’ll grant that having pro- nouns in your bio is not quite the same red flag as cruising a playground in a car with no door handles on the inside, but it’s still a red flag parents need to fear. People who manage to produce offspring are too often seduced into voluntarily surrendering their authority over them. They allow various “experts” to hold sway over their kids. Exhausted and confused, they willingly hand their kids off to the local public school teachers’ unions, the DEI struggle-session facilitators, the storytelling drag queens, and the sex-education consultants who arrive at school with teaching props, including wholesome kid-friendly items like dildos and anal lube. Above: School hangs poster that says, \"I'm Your Mom Now\" https://sanzi.substack.com/p/school-hangs-poster-on-the-door-that They all share a common goal: to dilute your authority and increase their own. They aim to groom America’s children from birth to become compliant consumers of all they wish to sell them: bespoke genders, any-term abortion, strictly enforced racial hierarchies, a lifetime of therapy, prescription drugs, and whatever political and social ideology they choose to upload into their brains. God forbid you are the only parent at your school who keeps your fifth grader home on Share Your Favorite Sex Toy Day. What will people say? Allow me to remind you gently: it’s your job to steer the ship, avoid icebergs, prevent scurvy, and stave off mutinies. Parenting is not a game. There is no do-over. You are all that stands between your small charges and the roiling storms ahead—and the band of purple-haired nonbinary pirates that’s about to storm the deck. Sexualized Early and Often Imagine being the only one at the PTA meeting who stands up and objects to your second grader studying detailed diagrams of adult genitalia, or your middle schoolers instructed on how to grant consent to anal sex. (These are real sex ed guidelines introduced in New Jersey public schools in 2020.) Your choices are stark: assert your authority over your children and get called a bigot or go along with the madness and let them take your child to places you don’t want them to go. How bad is it? Bad enough that Tiara Mack, a “reproductive justice advocate” and “child sex educator” running for state senator in Rhode Island tweeted this in 2021: “Really excited for the house sex ed bill hearing later today. Teaching comprehensive, queer inclusive, pleasure-based sex ed was a highlight of my time teaching.” This is who wants to talk to your six-year-old about how to “pleasure” themselves and their partner! The first step in any cult, or any abusive relationship, is to get the victim to sever ties to their outside friends and family. Maybe you’ve seen this happen to people you know. They suddenly change their phone number, delete their social media, and have a new friend now—one that has them spellbound. Once children come to believe their mom and dad are clueless bigots and racists who are holding them back from being who they are, the cult leaders own them. Government-run public schools have accomplished “regime change” in America and transformed us, slowly, from a society centered around the family, where the schools work for the parent, into a society centered around government employees, where families are required to supply the raw goods for the teachers’ unions to mold as they see fit. Year after year, their assembly lines have been left unsupervised to churn out freshly minted graduates. These graduates move on to college, where their high school indoctrination is hardened and polished by professors. The end product is a citizen who will go to his grave believing a set of Ministry of Truth–approved lies: “whiteness” is intrinsically evil, abortion is health care, there are dozens of genders, America was founded on racism and must be dismantled, marriage is oppressive and bad for women, children hold you back, and unchecked sexual “exploration” with a variety of partners of every gender is the surest path to emotional happiness. Sane people have a terrible choice to make: exercise parental authority over what their children are taught and risk financial ruin, social blackballing, and permanent cancellation—or allow their kids to be turned against them. When a teacher or government official replaces the parent as the ultimate authority in the child’s life, all bets are off. Educators know that any adult with the authority to influence a child has the power to expose said child to any radical or extreme ideas they want. To them, you are the extremist if you don’t think young children need to learn about sex and gender dysphoria yet. You are the extremist if you question a teacher or school administrator’s choice of books to read or lessons to teach. You are an extremely racist extremist if you’d rather not force a five-year-old to feel bad about the color of his skin and apologize for it. In California, students in middle school can ask their school to change their names and genders in the school computer system, and the school is not permitted to inform the parents. The school authorities and the teachers are legally allowed to conspire with eleven-year-olds in sixth grade to induct them into a cult and keep it secret. Literally “it’ll be our secret,” a classic groomer move. These government educational bureaucrats may not drive window-less vans and carry dirty magazines and candy bars to lure young boys (although let’s be honest, some do), but they are even more dangerous. Any parents who send a child into an environment like this, either knowingly or blindly, are forfeiting their authority over their kid. The Regime’s child-catchers are prowling the locker rooms and cafeterias looking for lost, confused pre-teens to cart off to Pleasure Island, where they can get transformed into donkeys without their parents’ consent. I wouldn’t be surprised if Disney is working on a new version of Pinocchio where he asks the Blue Fairy to turn him into a real girl. Parental Surrender Too many sentient adults seem to simply wait for a new update to the operating system to decide what to do with their kids. They unquestioningly accept the Current Parenting Thing, the rancid gruel served up as “education” at the local public school. They surrender their kids to the authorities, in all their forms: teachers, principals, pediatricians, drag queens reading stories, social media influencers, YouTubers, Disney, Netflix, TikTok, the Kardashians—anyone who is credentialed as a “kid expert” or “important” now holds more sway over American kids than their own mothers and fathers. “Who am I to tell my kids how to behave, or what to learn, or how to think about the world? I’m just a random person who had a baby. I made plenty of mistakes in my life. How can I possibly ask my children to obey me?” This is why we can’t have nice things. This is why healthy toddlers were kept in COVID masks for two years while they sat in sandboxes alone, outside, in rain or sleet. This is why you see massive brawls happening at middle schools, where kids punch their own teachers. This is why children are indoctrinated into the cult of trans, coached and groomed to say their pronouns, to switch genders, to explore various “sexualities” and “identities.” This is why mothers pimp out their own children as “drag kids” and put little boys in princess dresses and post the photos on Instagram while thousands of likes wash over them. This is what abdicating the parenting throne looks like. Childless weirdos have taken over every institution we look to for guidance on how to raise good citizens, and no, I’m not talking about Catholic priests. It has become only too clear what this absence of parental authority has wrought. Everywhere, in every way, the fertile, fallow minds of children are being terraformed by people who identify as “fur baby” parents. I wouldn’t let fur baby parents walk my dog, let alone educate my eight-year-old. Authority Atrophied This is why you must exercise your parental authority early and often. You must speak up! “No, I don’t want you to ask my teenage son if he’s comfortable with his gender during his doctor visit.” “No, you can’t wear your sister’s Elsa dress to school today, because boys don’t wear dresses, now get in the car and never ask me that again.” “No, you can’t buy those shorts that display the entire lower half of your rear end.” “No, you can’t have a TikTok account, and if I find it on your phone, say goodbye to the phone.” Parental authority makes you the heavy in the house and the bouncer at the door. Pull on your big boy pants and lay down the law, or the law is going to lay down all over you. 2023.06.08 09:58 Col_Rhys What will save me from a Baneblade?
Hey fellow Gue'vesa! I've finally been cracking on with my pile of shame after many years in preparation for 10th edition, to hopefully play my first ever match of Warhammer. But there's been some things nagging me. A number of the friends I know in the hobby have some big threats they can deploy, including one with two Baneblades. Currently the biggest gun I have is the fusion gun on the Riptide, and I have to be honest, I cannot bring myself to buy and build a Stormsurge or Supremacy. Neither of them appeal to me aesthetically or pricewise. So what do you think I should consider?

2023.06.08 09:58 sunrainsky Recommendations for button parts
Hi, I am looking for recommendations for button parts. Specifically, those small misc buttons use on a snack box micro or 17.5mm buttons or any other sized buttons used in your builds. Am quite a loss so any help is appreciated. If you have the part/component number, that would be helpful.

2023.06.08 09:58 FlexibleTines 34 [M4F] Denmark - Looking for companionship, like so many do in these lonely times :)
It's a crazy time these days, isn't it? I'm normally not the best at meeting people, and can often feel a bit lonely, so I thought I'd return to see if I could meet someone on here. :)
I'm not the best at writing dating posts, but I'll do my best. :) If there's something I've left out that you'd like to know, just hit me up with a message, yeah?
A bit about me, I'm a 34-year-old software developer from Copenhagen. I'm an extrovert, so I love being with people, although I struggle a bit with making it happen sometimes due to being on the autism spectrum. It's my impression that people tend to like me, though, so I'm sure you would, too.
I enjoy being creative in my free time. I've done a lot of different types of creative projects over the years; programming, lots of things for our comedic revue at university (like writing songs, being on stage, making videos, ...), building electronics, cooking, mathematics. It's pretty fun to produce something you can show to people, you know? :)
I quite enjoy learning, and spend a lot of time reading (and listening to) books, often non-fiction ones. :) Recently I've started getting into more fiction, and have also gotten myself an e-reader, so my reading pace has really gone up. I just got started on "Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow" by Gabrielle Zevin, and am quite enjoying it so far!
In addition to learning, I also really enjoy teaching and helping other people. I spent a lot of time at university being a TA, and do a lot of training of our new hires at work. Talking to people gives me energy, you know, and it helps me do that with a purpose. :)
Musicals and theatre in general tend to interest me, and I'm trying to slowly catch up to all the great shows I haven't seen yet.
I'm big of physical affection, love me a hug and a cuddle; the warmth of closeness. Sometimes just being in the same room with someone, doing our own things. Going on walks together. Cooking together. Talking during the day on chat, then cuddling up in the evening after we're done.
I suppose the big question is whether you find me interesting or not. :) If you do, I'd love to see a message from you popping up in my inbox.

2023.06.08 09:57 Ipod732 25 [M4F] California - A Definitive Advertisement To Find That Someone
Hello! I've posted here on r4r a handful of times now and I wanted to try and write up a more definitive ad. Every time I've written up a new one it contained new information or less information than a previous post so, I'm going to try and compile it all into one master post. That way everything there is to decide whether you'd like to message me is easily available and accessible to you without having to dig around a dozen other posts.
Now that the "prologue" is out of the way let's jump into why you're here and what it is I'm looking for.
Who Am I? - Future Lawyer - Currently working as a Student Attorney this Summer at my school's legal clinic before my final year of law school. Will probably be taking the Bar July of 2024. I'm not sure as to what kind of law I'll be doing as a full fledged lawyer, but I know I intend to practice here in California. I'm working in Sacramento.
- Philosopher - I got my BA in Philosophy from UC Berkeley. I've always enjoyed philosophical discussion and occasionally write philosophical pieces. I was always into the classical Greek philosophers; Socrates/Plato and Aristotle. If you ever need a deep conversation we can delve into the depths of any subject.
- ENTJ/Leo - For those that enjoy Horoscopes or Myers Briggs tests. I'm an extrovert. I enjoy people and being alone is draining for me. I'm a bit shy and anxious at first, but once I'm comfortable that all goes away.
- Muslim - I know religion can be a big deal for some people, but I don't ask that anyone hold similar religious views as me. As long as we both value humanity, family, and general goodness, a difference in religion shouldn't be an issue. As a Muslim I don't drink and I don't eat pork. I don't care if you do. I'm not the best at praying (it's something I should fix) and I don't do the prayers (I generally just recite prayers to myself without doing the ritual aspects). I do fast during Ramadan.
- Drug Free - I also refrain from smoking and doing drugs. I just ask that if you do any drugs it's no more than weed, but ideally you don't smoke. I just don't like the smell lol and it sets me into a coughing fit if I'm around people that are smoking.
- Writer - I enjoy writing if you couldn't tell from the absurd length of this post. I apologize in advance. I write short stories, philosophy, political opinion, and whatever else comes to mind when I feel inspired.
- Traveler - I've traveled to a handful of places and there are a handful more I'd like to complete. I've been to Italy, Ireland(for a day), Austria, Hungary, Germany, Lebanon, Syria, and Jordan
Things I enjoy: - Mythology - Especially Greek mythology which I'm more acquainted with. My favorite myth is Orpheus or as some know it from the play Eurydice which I have yet to see or read. Also love the myth of Sysiphus hauling the giant boulder up and the one about Prometheus stealing fire for mankind.
- Literature - I try and read on occasion. Haven't been too successful. The last book I completed was last winter and that was Robert Heinlein's Starship Troopers. Trying to get through Homer's Iliad at the moment before jumping to Homer's Odyssey. Some of my favorite books include: Steinbeck's Of Mice and Men, Rand's Atlas Shrugged, Tolkien's The Hobbit, Luo Guanzhong's Romance of Three Kingdoms, and lots more.
- Gaming - PC Gamer, but do own consoles like the Switch, 360, PS4. I just bought a Gameboy Advance SP to play some old Pokemon games. I have a Gameboy Advance, but it doesn't have the light and the battery exploded inside it, rip...
- Movies/Shows - I love films. I watch a lot of foreign stuff too like Kdramas, Chinese, Japanese, language doesn't matter as long as it's good and it has subtitles for me to read. My favorite film of all time is The Godfather. Some of my favorite shows include Game of Thrones(prior to season 8 of course), Better Call Saul, South Park, Rick and Morty, Criminal Minds(before they changed the whole cast), and plenty more.
- Anime - I could've put the animated cartoons in here too, but I'm currently watching Dr. Stone. Some of my favorites include: Steins;Gate, Kaiji, Legend of the Galactic Heroes(the original although the new one is alright), Death Note, and plenty more.
- Comedy - Love a good comedy show. I've been to a few clubs, the Ice House down in Pasadena, the Laugh Factory in Vegas, and Cobbs in San Francisco.
- Sports - Big fan of Soccer. Watch the Premier League when I get the chance and try and keep up. Man United fan. Also enjoy going to Sacramento Republic games. Football is cool too, 49ers. Watch Basketball on the rare occasion as well, Sacramento Kings.
- Music - Rock and Metal fan. Going to be seeing Nickelback in July and I want to see Disturbed in July as well, but have no one to go with, rip. Some of my favorite bands include: Green Day(who I got to see live alongside Weezer and Fall Out Boy), Rise Against, Five Finger Death Punch, Disturbed, and a handful of others. My music tastes can be a bit eclectic, but rock and metal is my go to.
- Tea - I'll definitely brew you some tea someday. I enjoy black tea for the most part. I order loose-leaf tea online. I enjoy Assam, Darjeerling, Oolong, Pu-erh, Keemun, Earl Grey, and more.
- Museums - A big fan of history so I enjoy going to museums and looking at old things. Love Renaissance/Enlightenment period artwork. Just about any kind of museum is cool. I love learning new things.
- Going out in General - Whether it's hiking in nature among the redwoods, going to a bar, dancing at a club/bar, eating out, or bowling with friends. I'm good for just about anywhere as I like getting out of the house.
- Homebody - As much as I enjoy going out and exploring new places, sometimes I need a break from adventure and enjoy relaxing at home. Play some board games.
- DnD - I'm relatively new to it, but I'm DMing currently for a group of friends that I played my first campaign with. Been playing around two years now if not three (a bit on and off due to scheduling conflicts).
What I'm Looking For? A woman who I can meet, befriend, love, marry, have kids, and grow old with. I'm a hopeless romantic, I guess lol. It would go in that order and as for the timeline, that's for fate to decide.
Age - Ideally 21+, but will accept as long as you're 18+. Ideal age range 21-30. If you're slightly older or slightly younger that's fine too. +/- 7 is the general rule of thumb.
Looks - Personality beats looks, but attraction is still important. I don't have a type per se. Don't really care about race/ethnicity. I'm trying to work on my weight myself so I rather not cast a stone at a glass house, but proportionality is something I find attractive. A gym partner or someone who can help me with my weight would also be appreciated(we can run together or go hike, etc.)
Personality - I find that sometimes when I'm not attracted to a person , their personality attracts me to them. Personality can elevate a 5 to a 10 or reduce a 10 to a 1 instantly. All I ask is that you're intelligent(a woman who can think for herself, articulate her thoughts, and is able to challenge me when I'm wrong), kind, communicative(communication is key in any relationship), and is sociable(don't need to be extroverted, just able to socialize when the situation calls for it).
Location - In California, looking to move to California, or willing to relocate (a hard ask considering everyone is leaving California lol). For the foreseeable future, I'm stuck here for work and family. Maybe someday I'll have a nice plot of land in the middle of nowhere and can live off the fatta the land with some rabbits. If you read the post and know the book, you got the reference.
What can I Give You? Tea - As I mentioned before, I'll brew you tea and sometimes I might have a good story to tell over tea lol.
Laughter - I have a contagious laugh and I enjoy joking around. I laugh at most things so it's not too hard to elicit a laugh from me which might get you laughing too.
Adventure - I like visiting new places with friends or a companion so as long as you desire it, we can always adventure out to new places. Whether it's a beach, a new city, a forest, mountain, you name it, we can go.
Optimism - I have a generally happy-go-lucky attitude with life and I'll be happy to reassure you life is good and things will be fine. And if you need the opposite with harsh realism, ask and you shall receive lol.
Hygiene - I do my best to keep myself clean. I also wash my own dishes. I try to keep my home clean, but it's a bit difficult when you're never home. I bought my first condo in 2021 and now I understand why people rent. It's difficult to maintain everything and expensive. And on top of all that you gotta keep it clean even when you're not home.
Attention - As much as you desire. I enjoy people and having someone around all the time is fine by me. I also don't mind some alone time and lawyer stuff can be a bit time-consuming.
Food - I can't cook, but I'll try. I tried to make sushi and failed two weekends ago. Rice was too sticky and too hot. Also the sashimi refused to thaw no matter how long I waited(was well over 12 hours...) But wrapping it was actually easier than I expected just not evenly distributed along the roll.
I think that covered everything I needed to add or wanted to add in here. If I come up with more I'll be updating this master ad over time. Feel free to message me or use the chat feature. Also if you like we can move to Discord, feel free to ask for it. Attached is a photo of me as well. Thanks for bearing through this long post. And if you didn't read it all, that's fine. It's too damn long.

2023.06.08 09:56 tony787720 Worried about my appearance..
So apparently, Ive had T2N all my life but it just only recently finally blew up (“officially awakened”, according to the diagnosis) this past January when I got the results from my doc after I noticed something very wrong since three months before in October 2022, when I started falling asleep too much during my job as an uber eats driver (eventually had to quit).
Im 40. All my life since before that and even up until February of this year I was very physically active. I did cardio for about 1-2 hours a day 5 days a week. I then started going back to lifting weights.
But with weights, no matter how much I lifted, I would never see any progress.
My whole life I’ve been a massive mercilessy accursed HARD-GAINER. Wether I was at the gym half an hour 5 days a week, 1 hour M-F, 2hrs M-F, 2hrs every other day, 1hr every other day, sticking to a routine, changing up the routine so as to confuse the muscles and therefore build more mass quicker as a result, doing single excercises, doing compound excercises, doing resistance training, doing negatives, doing supersets, focusing on certain parts on different days, doing full-body every other day, wether I ate six times a day mostly meats and eggs and proteins galore with fruits and veggies and nuts and shakes, wether I added supplements to them, wether I took a gallon of creatine daily or just two scoops into my shake after every workout (before post-workout atrophy starts to happen), wether I took pre-workout shakes/drinks or not, wether I withheld from fapping before the gym, wether I slept 7,8,9,10 hours that night or the night before, wether I went during the morning, afternoon or night- on my BEST DAY I would just barely make a difference that barely nobody would ever notice anyway, and it would go away in a heartbeat if I ever stopped lifting for five minutes. Its BAZONKERS people- all that work, and NOTHING to show for it to this day.
Except now the opposite has happened. I have no energy at all to do anything (hell I can barely stay awake as I type this). Cant focus, cant think straight. Even seemingly mundane things like drivig to the grocery store ten minutes away is a daunting task now that worries everyone in my fam to death if I ever would try to do it.
I sleep most of the day. In a 24-hr span, Im awake for about six-seven. I only eat once a day bc of my shitty for life now Keto diet I have to strictly follow so I cant eat 90% of everything so I barely eat and its once/twice a day and its small meals so I dont pass out shortly after. Therefore, I dont eat 6 times a day- nowhere near that. I also had to completely stop working out.
Today, I see myself in the mirror and notice that now that the nightmares and sleep paralysis have progressed, Ive become rail thin. Like, my arms are scary-looking with how thin and bony they are now- they look like those of a 9-year-old boy. Im embarassed to be seen in public. Im paler now, and the Dark Circles under my eyes have grown inmensely darker. I feel like I can charge cars to park in those giant suckers but thats for another story.
So I look like a sickly malnourished skeleton now. Its scary-looking how bad Ive gotten, but gym is the LAST thing I can do nowadays- believe me! I havent gone since Feb when I just had to stop bc I couldnt take it anymore.
So, is rail-thin, bony, extraterrestrial-looking “body” normal for people with Severe T2N to get? I look like a sickly shivering starving animal from one of those Sarah McLaughlin commercials with the song playing and everything.
So is this (“fairly new”?) appearance normal for people with N to display? Remember that mine’s severe t2. Severe.
Thanks!

2023.06.08 09:55 Mndyrbsnss Am I Ready for an New Journey? Bothered about My Work and Real-World Coding Standards.
Note: As I am not proficient in English, I have used ChatGPT to improve how I deliver my story. Please bear with any shortcomings in my English proficiency, and kindly focus on the overall message I am trying to convey.
Hello, everyone! Allow me to introduce myself briefly.
I am a Full Stack web developer from the Philippines, with 5 years of experience in the field. Today, I would like to share my thoughts and seek your opinions on something that has been bothering me.
When I first started coding, I realized that my work seemed inadequate compared to the coding standards followed in the real world.
To provide some context, after graduating from college, I struggled to find a software engineering job due to my lack of proper studying and prioritizing fun over education during my college years.
Determined to rectify this, I decided to enroll in a web development Bootcamp, with a firm commitment to study diligently and learn everything I could from the program.
After three intense months of Bootcamp training, I equipped myself with the fundamental knowledge of web development.
I became proficient in creating websites using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, and even learned to build websites using Laravel.
Fast forward to the time when i get a job, I managed to secure a job at a Korean company located in Ortigas.
As a programmer, my first task involved developing a forum where administrators could post updates about various sports, such as baseball, basketball, cricket, and more.
During my first year of work, I had the opportunity to learn a great deal. In addition to my existing skills, I worked into web scraping using PHP Symfony and Node.js. It was an exciting period of growth and exploration.
Moving on to the following year, I found myself working on a project that involved creating HTML5 games.
One particular challenge was to develop a game where an admin could control the game's outcome in real-time.
With no team or senior to turn to for guidance, I felt unsure about how to tackle this task. Determined to find a solution, I embarked on a self-study journey, scouring the internet for articles and resources that could help me overcome this challenge.
Through perseverance and hard work, I managed to bring the project to life successfully. That's how I started my journey.
I shared that to give you an understanding of my learning process and how I approach challenges.
Now, let's fast forward to the present.
As a web developer, my current stack includes Laravel and Node.js for backend development. Recently, I took on a project involving a Spring Boot web application, despite having no prior knowledge of it.
However, since I am familiar with how MVC works, I didn't have a hard time learning Spring Boot. After just three days of using it, I can confidently say that I have a good understanding of Spring Boot.
And i can create a REST API server using it.
So, you can't really call me a beginner in that regard.
On the frontend side, I have equipped myself with React.js and Next.js.
I utilize Bootstrap or Tailwind CSS for styling.
Additionally, during my HTML5 game development journey, I learned several frameworks, such as PIXI.js.
Although there are a few other frameworks whose names I may have temporarily forgotten due to the fast-paced nature of project development, I am certain that I know at least three frameworks for creating HTML5 games.
I believe I have provided you with a good understanding of my background. Currently, I can confidently create websites from scratch.
Recently, I developed a real estate company website consisting of two separate sections: an admin page and a client page.
On the client page, customers can perform various transactions such as deposits, withdrawals, login and registration, investment interests, and referrals.
All of these activities can be viewed and managed from the admin page. As I reflect on the projects I have built throughout my career, I can't help but see my work as falling short compared to real-world projects.
I feel that my code does not meet the coding standards expected in professional environments, although I am not entirely sure what those specific standards entail.
Since I come from an environment where there are no other developer colleagues or seniors with whom I can share my work, I am currently feeling uncertain.
Next year, I plan to embark on a new journey in Dubai. However, I'm apprehensive about stepping out of my comfort zone because my current work situation is ideal.
Yet, I fear that if I stay too long in this comfort zone, I may hinder my own growth. So, I am seeking your advice and opinion on what kind of developer I am, or if any of you have had a similar experience in your own journeys.
Furthermore, I would like to know if I am truly prepared to wholeheartedly embrace this new journey. Anyway, I would love to share all the projects I mentioned before. However, since they are company properties, I cannot provide them here. Nevertheless, you can take a look at some personal projects that I have worked on.
https://tune-buddy.vercel.app/ https://burger-king-reimagine.vercel.app/ P.S. Regardless of whether your feedback is positive or negative, I am committed to pursuing the new journey I have planned. I am willing to take the risk of leaving my comfort zone in order to learn and experience something new. submitted by

Also, let´s get to it! 🚀
🤌 Laurin’s Auswahl 08 - 11.06
Eine kurze Übersicht der
5 coolsten Events dieses WE in Wien.
Also warum nicht mal was Neues hören? 🙂

Do: ⛅ 23° Fr: 🌧️ 24° Sa: 🌧️ 24° So: ⛅ 24°
I am torn between joy and sorrow this weekend. On the one hand, it’s pretty bad weather, on the other hand, we have an extra day off. Well, let’s focus on the good things, there are definitely some fun events this weekend in Vienna! 🙂
Let’s get to it 🚀 !
🤌 Laurin’s Picks 08 - 11.06
A quick overview of the 5 coolest things happening this weekend in Vienna.
Alright, I don’t care if you are new to Vienna or already more or less a local. The summer night concert by the Viennese orchestra is a musical highlight every year. Even if you are not a big fan of classical music, the concert is for free and right in the grounds of the Schönbrunn castle. So next to the impressive music, you have an amazing location. Enjoy! 🎶
Want to upgrade your wardrobe? Why not check out the clothing swap party with a twist? Bring some of your old cloths and swap them for different ones! If you are interested, you can also learn more about climate change while you are there.
This Saturday there is a small jazz concert in the building of an old and abandoned gas station. The concert promises intimate vibes, and a mixture of traditional jazz together with some more electronic beats.
Maybe not the right thing for all readers but this is probably the biggest football game of the year. It’s the champions league finals between Manchester City and Inter Milan. There is a great location to watch it outside at the ‘Schankwirtschaft’ located in the Augarten.
Alternatively there is a pretty cool free concert happening
here.
Want to explore some new and exciting live music? Go check out the concert of 4 live bands in Vienna’s most established underground venue ‘The Chelsea’ this Sunday.

2023.06.08 09:55 demerphq Cache Pot Setup
| A few people have asked about how I set up my plants. I use cache pots and water using the the "long soak method". Meaning when I water I fill up the cache pot and let it soak, usually for at least 1 hour. I water with fertilizer 4 times in 5 approximately, and then I use just pure tap water every 5th watering. The idea of this strategy is to ensure that when you water you use LOTS of water so that any salt or fertilizer build up in the media dissolves into the water you are adding. It also ensures that the hydrophobic bark gets saturated, and that the roots get a long drink. Once the hour is up I remove the inner pot, letting it drain into the cache pot or into the sink, and then dump the water. I then put the inner pot back into the cache pot and move to the next plant. When i finish I do it a second time, disposing of any water that drained from the first dump, This ensures that my orchids do not sit in stagnant water but the media and plant gets very hydrated. Plants in Cache Pots in Window 16, 14 and 10 cm Cache Pots With Plants Removed Selected Orchid Pots of Different Sizes and Forms Orchid pots typically are clear, and have excessive drainage compared to other pots, and often have a raised section in the middle of the pot. There are actually two styles of pot you can buy with different types of lip. I prefer to get the ones with a clear lip so that the inner pot actually hangs on the cache pot that contains it. This gives any roots that grow out the bottom more room, and ensures that there is an airy zone by the roots for it to breath. I prefer ceramic glazed cache pots. Cache pots should be sealed and not have drainage holes. They replace the saucer that might be used underneath a terracotta pot. The also can be quite attractive. The 16cm model I use here is a standard size for most of my adult plants, especially the larger phals. What fresh quality medium-coarse bark Looks like (approx 20mm size) Quality fresh bark has a particular wood smell, especially when freshly watered with warm water. I can often tell when a plant needs to be repotted just by smelling the media. If it smells like a forest after a rainfall it is fine, there is a very particular musty smell when it has decayed to the point where it needs to be replaced. Tetraspis media and roots. You can see bark, leca, and perlite in the mix. I pot up my plants so that I provide the right environment while suiting my preferred weekly watering schedule. A lot of people IMO make the mistake of adjusting their watering schedule to the media, which often results in the roots rotting. If you adjust the media to your watering preferences you can control thing better and match your climate and etc. So I tend to use a mix of bark (the majority is bark), spahgnum (usually very little as it holds insane amounts of water by weight), perlite, leca, sometimes vermiculite, etc. In my environment (Amsterdam) warm blooming Phals want a more moist medium, Oncidiums do well in fine bark, Vanda aliance tend to want very coarse and airy bark, cold blooming phals like pure bark, with Paphs I add a small amount of peat and vermiculite and I up the amount of perlite. Anyway, there are lots of ways to pot up your plants. The way I do it is a common pattern among hobby home growers, but it is not the only way for sure. Hope this helps someone out there. submitted by demerphq to orchids [link] [comments] |

2023.06.08 09:53 ChairmanMeeseeks [Democratic Front] [Greater Corellia] Senator Lysandis Alim releases a statement on the passage of the GEA
From the Office of Lysandis Alim, Senator for Greater Corellia Sector, Co-Leader of the Democratic Front
It is with enormous pride and relief that I can say to the galaxy today that the Galactic Emancipation Act has received enough votes in the Senate to find its way to Chancellor Mothma's desk and become law.
I thank all those Senators who joined me in this multi-partisan effort, and I thank in particular my colleagues in the Democratic Front who assisted me in the writing and proof-reading of this bill. The effort to get it from my desk to Mon Mothma's has been a taxing one, some tried to run up false concerns, and others I feared would not vote at all. And yet today I am reminded of the enduring good faith within Galactic politics, and I am reminded that consensus building and consultation, an effort I embarked on prior to introducing the bill onto the floor of the Senate, remains a sharp tool at our disposal. As it stands currently, the bill has been unanimously accepted by the Senate... a triumphant day for the Republic and Democracy!
This bill will enable the Republic, through its various institutions, to make targeted but decisive strikes against the slave trade and ensure a future for those people's freed. This is a bill for all the Republic. It is a bill for Kashyyk, for Ryloth, for Coruscant, for Morlani, and for all the worlds where there are still those who languish in chains. To those people I say "lift your head up, and your arms too, for the day comes soon when the hammer will fall and the pain will be broken".
While it is immensely gratifying to see one's own work become law, I am not satisfied... indeed I am restless. This is not the last triumphant step in our efforts to eradicate slavery. On the contrary, the journey has only just begun, but what we have done today is put our boots on and boldly set out on a path which we cannot turn back from. A shining path to liberty and justice for all.
And let it be remembered that Democracy worked today. Let those who doubt the democratic process, or the Democratic Front, be cowed by this example. Where there is clarity of purpose and strength of action, the Democratic process can work and can deliver real change. Remember that going forward. This is a moment of fortitude for freedom's great cause, and that fortitude shall propell us across the galaxy shouting the battle cry of Freedom.
May the Force guide us on our journey as we lay the Republic's ancient promises as the foundations of a brighter Galactic future.
Let the work continue, and let all the Republic be heard

2023.06.08 09:52 GirlUnderTheMask If Andromeda got a sequel, it would really interesting to have the other Ryder twin as a squad mate
Imagine the role play potential: having an actual family member isn’t very common in RPGs, so it would be nice to be able to have someone close to Ryder who has known them for their whole life.
It would provide a good opportunity to give insight into their childhoods, and would ideally give you a few dialogue choices to sort of build a bit of backstory for Ryder - what was it like growing up on the Citadel, how did they get in with Alec and Ellen?
What do you think? What could their personal missions involve?

2023.06.08 09:51 kjleebio project ultimacene the Hawaiian pineapple tree.
(I feel like I have done to much new plants so here is some.)
When the nature company and the brothers were helping Hawaii during the two decades of healing specifically the last 5 years, there were lots of complaining or questions about the pineapple industry which was huge in Hawaii. The brother who was in charge of looking after Hawaii, brother Boomer, decided to take a gamble and had a bunch of pineapple heads/seeds and buried them into the ground in the wild giving them a month or two. 8-10 years later, Boomer and a couple of nature helpers returned to see unique palm tree growing across the acre they left the seeds. What evolved was a huge Pineapples on palm trees. Boomer then gathered pineapple head samples/seeds of these new Pineapple palms and gave them to the farmers.
This newly evolved pineapple species is called Ananas Mauipalmensis is a unique species of pineapple which was thrown into the wild of Maui and was settled with competition from other native plants due to this the pineapple was forced to become larger to reach sunlight via turning into a small palm but it needed an another way to spread. This is where the interesting evolutionary take begins, the pineapple started making itself edible to spread so it quickly evolved to have seeds, and luckily this is after the great Hawaiian bird storm ended so the Hawaiian coconut crab had washed ashore. The Hawaiian coconut crab quickly realized that these new Pineapples were edible so they start taking out the fruiting pineapples and eating them, spreading the very seeds in return. Other birds also spread the seeds thanks to the Hawaiian coconut crab as the opened up fruit is also edible with seeds thus spreading the pineapple far and wide across Maui. With 8 to 10 years, of rapid evolution has created a medium sized tree that sprouts huge, bulbous, pineapple palm tree. When a seed is planted in a tropical environment, it quickly grows into a medium size palm tree. With a month, it bears 5 large pineapples in which it waits for a Hawaiian coconut crab to climb the tree and pick them out, breaking them to consume the fruit which results in seed dispersal.
Hawaiian Pineapple farmers quickly accepted this new plant as it produces four times as much as a normal pineapple plant. They have spread the plant across all the major islands and abroad. Even spreading across other pineapple plantations. They have become a major part of not just Hawaii's culture and a part of its wildlife.
questions and criticism are welcomed.

2023.06.08 09:51 Utinni_Bikini Germans had one final push! But we had a plan to flank ‘em
| We were into ally building this to kill a panzer who was left side of the house but then the Panther just rolled in, along with all those infantry. We ended up killing the panther and almost all the infantry and won the game, preventing their final assault. Moments like these are why we love this game! submitted by Utinni_Bikini to HellLetLoose [link] [comments] |
