Another Warhammer CYOA by me, though based on Warhammer Fantasy instead. If you need a refresher, you might need to check one of the wikis (or maybe the TV Trope pages). But maybe don't look too closely, because I fudged a lot of the lore for convenience. Even with the rules for character creation, you're probably going to make some really canon-breaking characters.
There's lots more I could add, but the only way to guarantee I don't update this is to promise I will update it, so let's see how it goes.

Don't think I'm picking on the current moderation or anything.
It's just worth distinguishing between two types of moderators.
I would introduce some changes in their behavior, such as the above-mentioned principle of "don't delete the post, but correctly redirect the question." (if the user doesn't ask his question, but just fills in, it's a mistake and a decrease in activity. He should not feel banned, it is unpleasant. He should communicate further). But this is the little things.
And there are no organizers in this community. Moderators haven't been filling subreddit with content for a long time. They don't update the wiki (which is why no one looks at it...), they don't develop the community. Man, not too long ago I translated CYOAP and put together a little tutorial on what it is and how to use it. Alas, since the topic wasn't pinned and the wiki didn't have a corresponding entry and link, you probably don't know that there's actually an excellent alternative to ICC. Moreover, my lectures for beginners also disappeared in the general flow of posts and novices will not be able to find them. But I'll try to do something about that! A chair in the moderator lineup would be nice for me, but, I don't really need access to mod tools anyway. They can do everything I'm talking about here as it is.
But I would still recommend looking for volunteers. Update the wiki, keep an eye on the new controlled sections, organize events like rescuing CYOA from imgur or replenishing the directories. Surprisingly, the title of moderator inspires a lot of people to do community service.
The main thing I ask is that you reconsider the system of "internal discussions" of the moderator staff. Since you are not organizers, you do not want to make decisions, and you are not interested, you do not take them. And because of the "closed discussions" and the fact that you do not communicate with users, you very much suppress the activity of the community. It's just by the fact that you can see that it's practically gone. So try to define your role and either actively develop the community or at least let it develop on its own. There is no need to suppress it, the community is already small and not too active. Instead, help users be more responsive. Don't "forget" to respond to the week, but offer to speak up and gather opinions.

They are very useful and without them the community cannot exist. This is exactly the type of moderators we have now. Well, first things first. So, Icon.
Just in case, let me remind you what happened a couple of months ago.
And now the analysis.
Amazing, huh?
I suppose they were very impressed by the comment about voting not being academic.
But... Then why wasn't a second, more accurate and rigorous vote taken?
Why wasn't the "wrong" vote stopped?
Why was there no response to the community about it?
Why did they choose to just "forget about it" as if it was not important?
How is it that the opinion of a few (even a dozen or two) "we're against the icon" people outweighed the opinion of everyone else? Just because everyone else voted instead of actively posting "We're for the icon!" in the discussion?
By the way, I'm curious, whoever wrote the comment about how to do the voting "right" is happy with the result? That there was nothing to turn into a bureaucratic hell, but that it was simply canceled? That there was no result? Was there any benefit to the community from his point of view?
What I suggest.
Go ahead and choose an icon!
The situation has noticeably changed from "no idea what to install here and everyone is too lazy to do it" to "there is a ready-made icon that was even voted for". We could have another vote. In three weekly increments, but I think that's just a waste of time and an attempt to add stuffy bureaucracy where there shouldn't be any. This community is supposed to be fun, not burdensome.
As a second step, I would also make a banner, although this is not as necessary.
Just in case, let me remind you of the basic idea - choose some nice CYOA's that are important to the genre and make a stylized collage of them with reduced detail and NSFWCYOA written over it. Collect the options with screenshots, take a vote, and then I'll do some variations, trying to match colors and such.
We don't like text-only CYOA here, so why should the community page have an understated look?

Just in case, let me remind you what happened a couple of months ago.
- Some guy created another "let's choose an icon" thread. Such threads appear literally every six months, but this time I was bored and I...
- so I drew some sketches anyway, framing them as a mini-CYOA as a joke. I actually expected that this would encourage users to offer their suggestions, but... Everyone voted in the comments for their favorites. We honestly waited for a week.

And now the analysis.
- A few days later, another option was offered! Not sure if d20 is a CYOA symbol, but still!
- Once again, those who are against the icon as such showed up. I really don't like their main argument: "The community should not attract attention, new users should not appear". Sounds like saboteurs to me. Especially since they aren't even authors. Again, if the community doesn't grow and attract new users, it will decline. And if you think the growing user count is a perfect counterargument to my words, just think how often users leave after losing interest in CYOA, forgetting their NSFW accounts and creating new ones, or leaving for other natural reasons.
- In one week there were only 2,192 users who voted. What do you think about that number? That's the relatively active members of the community. Yes, of course there are probably more, but not 10 times as many. So there are clearly not 85 thousand users in nsfwcyoa. Again, if you do not attract new participants, the community will first get even smaller, and then it will practically disappear when there are only a few hundred active participants and cyoa comes out once a month or two.
- Some users were unhappy that the polls did not meet academic standards for polling. But it still seems to me that it is impossible to conduct them perfectly under these conditions for many reasons, and that extreme accuracy is not required anyway. We were not testing a new drug, but choosing an icon that could easily be replaced in the future.
- However, the results of the survey were quite clear and revealed the winner https://i.redd.it/724uth2vtzya1.png Only 3.6% were categorically against this option. This includes not only those who are against icons in general, but also those who voted against all options and asked for a different vote. I.e., they were not really against the icon, but against the description of the voting options. Another 9.3% are just against it. (I, if anything, rate the options as +2 points strongly for, +1 point only for, 0 points neutral, -1 point against, -2 points strongly against). This is a less strong and less radical point of view. However, 18.3% voted categorically for this option. That is, the majority already voted for it. And another 46%, almost half, simply voted for it. And that is a lot!
- Realizing which option wins, I drew a cleaner version of the sketch, as promised. Main objectives:
- Attract new members and grow the CYOA community. Not subreddit specifically, but the CYOA community in general. Popularize the genre and ideally make it known to everyone! That it becomes a well-known genre of games, like visual novels, that even people who don't play them know about. At the moment, according to my observations, the entire community is represented by only 30-40 thousand unique users worldwide, of which literally 3-5 thousand are at least somewhat active. Keep in mind that nsfwcyoa was created in 2016, and there are a lot of abandoned accounts. NSFW accounts generally get abandoned more often than main accounts.
- Help authors and support the creation of new CYOAs. This seems pretty obvious. Currently, every author is essentially self-taught and has to deal with all the problems on their own. Manuals are few and hard to find, and there is no one to ask stupid questions... So we need to significantly lower the barrier to entry and make their lives easier, so that everyone can make their CYOAs without too much difficulty and without making stupid mistakes! The more games they make, the better for everyone!
- Make the community more convenient. Right now, CYOA is scattered all over the web, and the subreddit is only useful for finding new games, which is inconvenient. There's no place to post and discuss an interesting build, a story about your character, a themed picture you suddenly want to draw, even just searching for CYOA is quite difficult. It just gets lost! And all this can be fixed!
- Increase user activity. What good is attracting new people if everyone keeps quiet, huh? As I pointed out a bit earlier, there are actually a huge bunch of topics that can be discussed, but right now on reddit it's impossible. I especially don't like the fact that authors can't ask anything of the community during CYOA creation. WIP projects are discussed entirely as "finished" CYOAs, and they can't take a poll, clarify a specific question, or share their thoughts. (Don't tell me they can take use of a month thread. That's not even funny).
Additional points:
- I don't want separatism. Splitting the community now would be harmful in my opinion, a waste of time and resources. I would prefer to systematically improve the existing community. I really hope that the moderators understand this, that they can be reasoned with, and that they are willing to listen to the community. (That's why I'm creating this political party.) But if they continue to ignore everything, then... Uh... That would be undesirable.
- On the contrary, I want to combine various CYOA projects into something coherent. Now there are several catalogs, booru, chat rooms, subreddits, blogs... But they are not connected in any way and it's very hard to find them! Especially for a beginner. Just googling them won't work! So this is not the time to compete! Perverts should stick together and support each other!
- I'd like to see a party instead of being a lone organizer. That's fun too, but I'm more than sure that many people here have their own ideas and would be interested in improving this community. So I'd love to see volunteers, organizers, and sneaky lobbyists! Programmers and sponsors would be especially helpful, but more on that later! Together we can achieve a much better result!
- I know for a fact that the community can be much more active and fun. You may doubt it and say that CYOA is a separate case and that comparing it to other communities is wrong... But the fact is that there is a https://arca.live/b/cyoa Korean CYOA community. In technical aspects it's very similar to reddit, but it's organized in a different way. And what is interesting is that there are only 5915 subscribers there (there are also dead accounts, and some are registered several times, so there are actually much less. Maybe only 400-700 active users or so judging by views) And yet they create their own great CYOAs. Big beautiful projects (that should be translated), small fast CYOA, they write short stories inspired by games, translate English games into Korean, develop CYOAP (software for making CYOA), post builds, make polls, contests and etc. If the reddit community were as active, we would have several big CYOAs every day!

Another CYOA that popped into my mind; I'd like to say "It came to me in a dream" to fit the theme, but it came to me during a walk. I feel like someone else did a CYOA like this, but I'm too lazy to look it up. I'm not sure if I'll update this; I feel like if I try to polish it, it'll become less strange and dreamlike. But I'm going to bed after posting this, so maybe will get ideas in my dream.
If you're curious, the images were made using DALLΒ·E mini. I think the images of DALLΒ·E mini look like poorly made AI art or the weird images in your dreams which don't make any sense when you think about them later.
Also, it was unusual looking up common themes in dreams. Apparently, most people dream about snake. Why can't I dream about snakes? Is it because I like snakes too much?

Well, this is embarrassing. As I said, I wasn't quite happy with my Colonizing a New World CYOA, so I was trying to think of ways to improve it. Unfortunately, my mind kept wandering into different directions, until all I could think of was this CYOA. The only way I've found to get rid of these sorts of ideas are to make a CYOA out of it. So I did.
I'm afraid this one is for an existing setting, so if you're not familiar with Warhammer 40K it won't make much sense and if you are familiar with Warhammer 40K you'll hate it because it's not about how great Space Marines are. You could try using the wiki for information, but I'll warn you it's pretty expansive.

I was playing Stellaris, but I was stuck in the awkward boring part between crises, so I decided to work on a CYOA while waiting. So I made this. I tried to make it as generic as possible so that you could slot it into any sci-fi setting you want or extrapolate into your own setting. Well, I mean, you may need to pretend some options don't exist for some settings, but whatever.
I know I'm missing something in this CYOA, but I can't see what. Instead, I'll post it, then immediately realize "Ugh, I forgot to add [blank]! I can't believe I missed it!". Also, I'll find the typos I missed, as you do.

- The conditions work correctly in it. You can create an order of magnitude more complex conditions and it won't glitch like ICC.
- The author regularly updates it and fixes errors. ICC has long been abandoned.
- It loads better and supports .webp
